soft feitan headcanons

note: hey y'all, in my previous post i stated that i was making some soft feitan headcanons, and it's been a while since i've actually made content on here because of writers block. what made me make this post in the first place is that i don't see a lot of posts of a normal feitan relationship, it's like 98% yandere, dark and hard smut, etc. don't get me wrong i get why and i find them pretty entertaining but i feel like a lot of y'all exaggerate his personality and it's lowkey cringe sometimes, so i wanna switch some things up and introduce something new.

tags & warnings: fem imagined reader but i kept it androgynous so anyone can enjoy, some mentions of torture, death, etc because thats stuff he does obviously but it won't be on reader, reader speaks his language.

feitan would definitely want a normal relationship with you, the staying at home watching movies, cooking dinner for each other, sleeping and waking up next to one another type, he may not be the most romantic such as taking you to fancy restaurants or proposing to you but something to come home to after weeks & months of torturing people for the troupe.

he's not the type to verbalize "i love you," but show you in a multitude of ways, stealing things you talk endless about, trying his best to be there for you in need, taking care of you while you're sick (even if he doesn't know wtf he's doing), and just doing everything he can to make you happy.

the only problem is, he can't allow the troupe to know of you and vice versa, not even a hint of you, not only because he'll be teased about being whipped but if you do know, theres a high chance you might be a threat in some way, most likely a snitch, so if something happens to where you find out about his business, something very bad is going to happen.

and that proves to be the hardest part of the relationship, he knows what chrollo would do to you if you were to ever find out about his work and he is very paranoid about it, especially if you two are out in public for whatever reason.

but, thankfully, he's pretty good at hiding his job even if he thinks he isn't, and the two of you live happily together.

he lets you do his hair, it's naturally curly and very soft, he also secretly uses your shampoo and conditioner, and has may or may not stalked you while you wash it to learn what you do with it.. how he straightened his hair? i dunno.

if you speak his language, it's like you were sent from heaven, he can finally have someone to talk to in his native tongue, he can't even do that with the troupe, but if you don't (which theres a 99% chance you wont) he can teach you, it's a long process but you'll get there.

he's very protective of you, has no problem eliminating anyone who is stupid enough to ever touch you, he might use that free alone time for whenever you're at work to torture this person if he's having a particularly good day, even though his time away from the troupe is his time away from any work, but he does enjoy the act none the less on a one off occasion.

feitan is actually not the jealous type, he's pretty content with you interacting with the opposite sex, as long as he doesn't see any underlying hints of potential romantic attraction everything is all clear.

he may not be the best at showing emotion, but you're the best thing that has ever happened to him, you'll make him feel things he's never truly felt before.

Following up on the RACIST PJO Fan artist that likes to antagonize other Fan artists (Sevsalio)

So, I recently made this post detailing a racist interaction I had with this user.

Aka the person who made the following fanarts:

And despite other people reporting similar interactions, I have a lot of non-black people white-splaining how they're not anti-black or how what they said is fine.

Newsflash, my first post was for non-racist pjo fans to be aware, in case they interact with that user. For those of you that defend them, idrc, keep engaging with them, its so clear how normalised anti-blackness is in this fandom.

The user themselves had this to say:

That is called deflection. They're trying to make it seem as if the issue was that I disagreed with their opinion about mixed fanart between the book and the show.

First of all, their initial post that started all this was them accusing artists that draw Show!annabeth (black) with book!percy of being Racist. That is what they said. They have literally used the term "reverse-racism" in 2024.

They claimed that it was unfair that artists that draw Book!annabeth and Show!percy get "lynched" (more racist language btw), yet when asked, they couldn't give ONE example of that happening.

This user is not a victim being attacked for no reason. They hate seeing fanart of Show!annabeth with book!percy, and decided it was their place to call artists that did that racist. Then made up imaginary scenarios of the reverse to justify their statement.

The whole interaction can be read here, if they want to accuse me of hiding context or whatever.

They also specifically used the "Leah Sava Jeffires" tag (aka the black actress for show annabeth, who dealt with 2 years of relentless racist hate mobs & death threats), so that any fans of hers or the show would see the post.

I'm not just calling them racist for that though. Their response to my prodding had them revealing a lot of their blatant anti-black views (which they quickly deleted. wonder why?).

Fyi, "I hate everyone equally" isn't an adequate response when people are telling you you're being bigoted :)

This person intentionally antagonizes other artists and has made it clear that they believe that there is too much representation for black people, racial minorities and queer people (all statistically under-represented groups).

I don't care if they said they're not racist, or transphobic or anything else. You think conservatives or homophobes openly think they're hateful? But if you enjoy antagonizing marginalized groups and multiple people within those groups have called out the shit you say... maybe it's not up to you to determine if you're a bigot.

The creator of the series himself, has literally made it clear even he doesn't appreciate people like you in the fandom, so your sense of entitlement is baffling.

Stop coming into my comments/messages to defend this person. IDC if you still wanna be friends with them, but y'all wont gaslight me into believing this rhetoric is okay. Good day 🩷

the only moments people wouldve brung up is when dev is in the episode, there was no reason for the episode that showed her tendancy to overthink and be emberassed over small mistakes by wishing a do-over and over again, having to realise that running away from the idea of creating a problem wont help her in the long run JUST so people could go "omg haha dev has a crush on her" i could litterly not tell you what the general concensious on most episodes are because i dont know peoples opinions on them because in general they dont discuss them beyond his scenes

fanart too, ive personally muted the dev and devzel tag and when i look up #hazel wells i want you to guess how many posts i find that arent hidden! spoiler alert its barely any of them, listen im not saying im shocked at the fact The Characters Made As A Duo are drawn as a duo, its whatever and while im not personally a fan in general i really do get the appeal, but you have to admit that at some point it gets really suspicious when the only fanart you can find in one character is only with the more popular one, over 200 fics in the hazel tag on ao3 and theres only 20! without the dev tag! (10 more then when i last checked, crazy! go read fly bird, fly now), and my main problem is is that hazel is shown to be her own person OUTSIDE of their friendship, infact wouldnt you know it shes the protagonist herself! the fact that most aus ive seen are focused on dev/dale/peri is whats most confusing to me, "oh but theyre so interesting to work with"

hazel is very interesting and shows her own struggles, she likes puns and fries and rocks and anime and horror movies (and apparently mushrooms if you count that one scene), she tries to problem solve so that no one is unhappy (patty being alive so winn wasnt upset, trying to get the band and orchestra together, accidently haunting her house and wishing her dads day was extra special, trying to find a dinosaur she spontaniously teleported his own job), she has multiple episodes showing her insecurities and how she tries to hide it so she doesnt look like a bad person, but inspite of it all is a understanding person and a peacemaker and doesnt like arguments, hell shes even such good autism represntation im 99.9% sure it wasnt intentional at all

dont even get me started on the takes ive seen in the finale, listen the finale has alot to be said and it definatly wont be everyones cup of tea (i think them trying to refrence every episode felt so chaotic personally) but regarding people with the ending is still giving me a headache, "she shouldve used her wish on him" that wouldve been so boring and predicable, say what you want on what she actually used it for but i think you guys should realise that for the kid whos regressing back into his bad copium mechanisms should get to face his concequences, 'hes 10 and neglected so thats why he acted like that' and 'she doesnt need to put up with how he treats her and hold his hand and be his personal therapist' can both coexist, people being pissed that she lightheartly agreed that he fucked up when HE admitted it is crazyyy CRAZYYY (also the fact ive seen someone say 'her moms a therapist she shouldve known' ???)

this isnt even touching on "hazels other relationships like her friends and family arent developed enough so thats why ppl dont care that much" while that is a valid critism i have with the show in general i still dont think applys to what im specifically talking about to demonstrate dale has appeared in THREE episodes (four if you want to stretch it), meanwhile hazels parents have appeared more often and im barely seeing them in fanart "but dale has a backstory!" so do those two have a whole episode explaining how they met "b-but dale is interesting as a role as a villain!" the guy is barely a villain [so far atleast], but also is being a therapist and a parascienists already not an interesting enough? are you guys suddenly not able to make as much headcanons expanding apon them as you did with dale? thats the thing that confuses me the most, whats stopping you from giving random information from your head to anyone else?, (i didnt know how to word this point so hopefully this makes sense)

I swear if i see one more mf say izzy has been 'redeemed' or needed a 'redemption arc' im literally going to scream into my pillow until i lose my voice.

redeem is such a black and white way of looking at his entire character and dismisses everything hes gone through and yall (izzy haters and others) are just so fucking snob nosed and ignorant to sit there and think hes a villain because of how he acted. theyre fucking pirates. theyre not perfect, none of them are. eds a villain, stedes a villain, if youre doing it like that. ed has killed so many people, stede literally left his wife and kids and also had a hand in killing people; it may be easier for them to change because of the perspective the show gives them and they had love but izzy did not. everyone hated him, ed, his own crew, stedes crew.

normalizing peoples reactions to things as something other than villainy and heroism is so god damn important in a show that's trying to accurately involve our perspectives in this day and age. its a tale as old as time, making someone 'completely in the wrong' because their perspective isnt the one you aligned with as much.

like the rest of the crew izzy had his own bad things hes done, he didnt need this 'redemption' everyones blabbering on about. he needed to be fucking heard, to be seen, and acknowledged-- not thrown aside and abandoned because of a whim. you all can ride up blackbeards ass because oh hes so hot, hes so pretty omg wow; but that wont ever change the fact his character is a fucked up person... youre allowed to love him anyways, why not izzy? we didnt see blackbeard before screen but how hes mentioned it shows he was a shit awful person, the only reason no one cares is because on hes fuckin gay for stede or whatever so the main characters get a free ride. ( i agree they all get a free ride, im just tired of this izzy isolation man )

why does he need to be redeemed in your eyes? just because youve seen what hes done? he was literally a product of his environment in season one he was a product of blackbeard's leadership. only with the loyalty and solidarity of the crew did he really begin to find himself, thats fucking hard to do that late in life. instead of calling it some bullshit black and white redemption arc, lets just celebrate izzy being himself and being fucking loved for once in his god damn life.

first is to show an example of how much you want to crush him with affection but don’t because he wouldn’t like it

the scenario i imagine to start this is a competition between all the wayne siblings

the winner gets to do whatever they want to the loser

the others get a big smile on their face for multiple reasons i dont feel like getting into

but damian grumbles and reluctantly steps up to you

you crouch down and proceed to wrap him in what you want to make the best hug in the world

you wrap your arms around his neck and hold him to your chest, cradling his head in your arms

you gave a good amount of squeeze, a good comforting amount of squeeze

you don’t think you’d get a chance like this again, damian would never let himself lose again no matter what it takes if you have a good chance of winning

lost in the feeling of finally being able to smother your youngest sibling with affection you didnt really take notice of his reaction

you didnt notice how his body melted into your embrace (though only just a bit)

you didn’t feel how his breath on your neck began to slow down and relax 

or how his eyes began to droop halfway

you were lost in your own little word- and so was he

in fact when dick decided to break you out of your trance, it seems you both had gone passed the promised time without realizing

you had assumed damian was keeping count and would shove you off immediately after it hit the 60 second mark

but he didnt

and by the embarrased look on his face you could see he had MEANT to, but for some reason forgot

you had never seen his composure so broken as jason took the chance to immediately poke fun at him

(tho damian didn’t know that jason was also a secretive fan of hugs from you)

it was a good time 10/10 would hug again

lets skip a bit

but just know theres been a lot of thinking while damian has been on his  lonesome

he liked your hug a lot more then he thought he would

it was so warm and comforting and he had found himself unconsciously leaning into it

his mother wasn’t an affectionate person, being an assassin didn’t allow such luxuries

bruce wasn’t much better, though he tried to be

and by the time his siblings and him got any kind of close he was already uncomfortable with such affections

he never realized how truly touch starved he was cause at this point in his life he didn’t see why he would indulge in such niceties, it was unpleasant

but it more pleasant then he expected, and he had let his guard down which was a critical mistake in both assassination and vigilantism

but there was an itch he now couldn’t scratch with that mindset

he’d been going back and forth with himself for days about asking you to hug him again

(cause lord knows he wasn’t asking anyone else)

and after a particularly stressful day, people at school just bugging the hell out of him, and not being allowed to go out on patrol that night cause bruce noticed his stress

and damian could only assume bruce thought he’d take it out on criminals

which damian was too proud to admit was possible

So imagine your surprise when Damian just bursts into your room, slams the door shut, and turns towards you with his eyes squeezed shut and his arms out

now this is what i meant about teasing and joking, a teasing “no” or any other funny comment and he’ll be humiliated and outta there faster then he was in and he will never come back

its a good thing you knew that right?

you couldn’t help the smile that spread on your face as you approached him and gently wrapped your arms around him

you could tell he was grateful you didn’t say anything

you’d have to guess he has been wanting this for a minute cause it didn’t take him long to completely snuggle up into you

You hadn’t realized he was so craving of affection, and you hazard a guess he hadn’t known either

it was a couple minutes before he broke away from you

when he looked up and saw your warm smile he turned completely red and sped out the door

how cute!

and now to your greatest hopes, it had started becoming a common occurrence!

your youngest brother is now actively seeking out your affection and its an incredible feeling

after the first couple times you had actually gotten him to speak to you during or after

and then a couple times after that, you had gotten him to stop speeding out of your room

he came the most at night, after dinner when everyone would be too busy working or in their room to notice his venture to yours

it was now common for you to silently hug him with one arm with him sat with you in your chair while doing homework or studying for college

or when you play something he’ll sit in front of you and let you rest your head on his

one of your favorite memories is him falling asleep on your lap on accident and him being so embarrassed when he woke up he pretended to still be asleep

you could feel the heat in his face so you decided to do him a favor and pretend you hadn’t noticed and instead moved him to your bed

though you couldn’t help the small kiss you planted on his forehead, knowing he couldn’t bring it up without outing himself

he’ll have to live with it

and you were surprised to find out he was the kind of brother who would sneak into your room at night

now you never caught the reason why, but you at least knew he didn’t want you to know

he came in and laid next to you when you were “sleeping” and left before you “woke up”

you assumed he was facing some inner demons when he did this, and wanted the small comfort but didn’t want the embarrassment of waking you up and asking you

you and alfred now have a hidden code, not that alfred knows (he probably does but you didnt tell him, but you were sure him and bruce had noticed and got a good idea as to what was happening)

well its not much of a code but when alfred asks for you or damian for one thing or another, you can send him something along the lines of “hey, ive got damian helping me with something” and alfred seems to get it and leaves you two alone for now

im not gonna say how, you and damian dont even know he does, but bruce has pictures

which is crazy cause you’ve never taken one, even while damian is asleep, cause this isn’t something your ruining

but bruce has pictures and he keeps them safe and secure for only him and alfred to see

seeing damian be so close to you makes him so happy

not that he’d say, him and damian are alike in that way

but alfred knows though

When did you start writing?

I remember getting pissed off about the writing choices in the Pokemon Anime when I was about 8 or 9, and I came to the realization that I could write my own story featuring my own Pokemon Trainer and handle the story the ✨right ✨ way (lol). From there I started filling up several dozen school composition notebooks until several years later I realized I could write on my ipod touch and save myself the trouble.

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?

I'll read just about anything as long as it interests me, but I think the genre I enjoy least is sci-fi? I don't hate it, but it just doesn't have that strong enough of an appeal to me, though I do like when people get goofy with it (Doctor Who, some episodes of DS9, etc.) I love a good mystery/period piece though, and I while I enjoy writing it, whether or not I'm any good at it is another matter entirely. If there is a procedural detective show with a will-they-wont-they pair of leads, chances are I've seen it.

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?

Oh jeez, well, I've never published fic before so I don't think I have ever been compared to anyone else, but an english teacher I had in high school once complimented me on have a "unique voice" in my writing, and I still think about it from time to time. As for writers I admire? Off the top of my head: Toni Morrison, Norman Maclean, Cormac McCarthy, and Tolkien.

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space? I write primarily on my phone, so I don't really have a dedicated space. I used Pages primarily but I kept running into issues with lag, so I recently switched over to Scrivener on my phone. As for where I write I either do so at my desk or in bed, or on long train rides. The good thing about writing on my phone is that if I have a sudden burst of inspiration and have the time, I can write almost anywhere.

What’s your most effective way to muster up a muse?

Music, especially with long train or car rides. Staring out the window at scenery with music often gets my imagination going. Long walks work too, especially if I'm on the treadmill at the gym and can zone out without worrying about walking into oncoming traffic lol. Other than that, ideas often come to me just as I am drifting off to sleep.

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

Found family, prophecies, newfound/hidden powers, finding purpose, feeling like an outsider. These don't really surprise me, I was always kind of a weird kid and am now a weird adult, with the pervasive feeling of "not belonging" a constant throughout my youth. This isn't to say I don't have friends and family that I love, and am certain love me back, but I've always been a little awkward in most social settings, regardless of the context.

What is your reason for writing?

I have a very active imagination that probably borders on maladaptive dreaming, but writing and art create a healthier outlet to channel that into.

Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?

Basically anything vaguely positive or encouraging is enough to make me blush.

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

Honestly I don't even know, I hope they think I'm moderately cool? I have never been perceived through the lens of my writing before, only my art.

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

World building and character development!

How do you feel about your own writing?

Pretty shy, I am always mildly concerned that my stuff is too trope-y or whatever, and other times I re-read what I wrote and go "hey, that's pretty good!".

I would say 99% of what I write is my own OC stuff that I never plan to make public, so I'd say I write mostly for myself. That being said, I do think people would enjoy certain aspects of my OC stuff, it's just way too jumbled for anyone but myself to make any sense of it at this point in time.

general tumblr etiquette

tag your stuff, they wont be seen otherwise.

do not crosstag (tag a group youre complaining about), or tag unrelated stuff

reblog, reblog, reblog! if you see a post that interests you, reblog! this is super important as there is no algorithm and all the like button does is basically save the post for later

tag triggering things!! [thing] tw or [thing] cw should suffice, dont tag every possible version of a trigger, you only have 30 tag slots, it's the reader's responsibility to block all possible tags as theres no limit on blocked tags. I suggest trigger tagging after the 20th tag as tags after the 20th one dont show up on search (stupid I know) but still gets blocked okay

get a profile photo as soon as possible, this site has a massive bot problem and if youre thought to be one you will be blocked without hesitation

if youre on pc, I highly recommend you get xkit, its a browser extension that helps a lot with your tumblr experience

1: keep in mind the intersectionality

the mogai tumblr community has a lot of overlap with other communities, namely the disabled community, nonhuman community and plural community. respect them, and listen to them, for they are your allies. you will see the overlapping community get referred to as "LIOM" a lot (like in my username), it stands for labels, identities and other minorities and is meant to be an all encompassing umbrella.

2: make your posts accessible

as I just said, theres a lot of disabled people in this community, so its important to make your posts as accessible as possible. I will talk more on this later

3: dont be afraid to ask individual blogs

there is no subreddit posting system, and if you just post a general question you likely wont get any answers, if you get seen at all, so dont shy away from asking individual blogs about stuff, if their asks are open, it means they WANT you to talk with them and ask them stuff, so never view it as bothering them. the askbox doesnt always say "asks" and similar stuff though due to being customizable, so just know its the little button to the left of the follow button.

4: check pinned posts

pinned posts are posts that are pinned on top of a persons blog, when you open someones blog, theyll be the first post to be seen upon scrolling down. a lot of people use these to introduce themselves, set boundaries, give request rules, talk about availability, etc. so its important to read these through whenever possible.

1: image descriptions!!!

its basically where you describe the image, as the name suggests, tumblr has an alt. text function for it but it doesnt always work so little [boxes like this] right under the image is ideal for most, yes it makes it look less pretty, but is your aesthetic worth more than someone whos visually impaired not being able to understand the post? trust me no one cares if your posts are pretty or not. anyway, the ideal way to know how to describe an image is pretend youre explaining it out loud to someone across from you, who cant look at your screen for whatever reason.

2: plain text!

yes, tumblr has a lot of cool text features (like bold or italic, or even colored [PT: like bold, italic, or even colored. end PT]) but this is, again, unfortunately inaccessible, due to tumblr being a broken website it often doesnt register formatted text for screenreaders, plus it can be hard to navigate for people with disabilities even without a visual disability. this goes for fancy text and symbols as well (like stars emoticons or a cursive text font). so you have two options, offer a plain text alternative or dont format text at all. offering plain text can be done in the same way as image IDs (theres even an example above).

3: eyestrain

bright colors are awesome, trust me, Id know, but not everyone can view them properly without a migraine or even worse, a seizure. so its important to tag your posts with eyestrain if you decide to make a brightly colored flag, or even better, do your best to make the flag accessible instead, with slightly duller colors with more (or less depending on the flag) contrast. it doesnt make your flag as ugly as youd think, trust me ^^

4: availability cant do one or more of the things mentioned above for any reasons? dont fret! theres blogs out there that can help you, most of them do this out on their own accord.

oh boy um. okay. so i hauvent posted abt them in a long time but i imagine if youve followed me for long enuf you remember....and boy theres a lot to sayhere

so the context is that like when i was like 14..me & my at the time best friend became just like. obsessed with the diary of a wimpy kid movies. and im dead serious we were obsessed with them. we watched them all the time and talked about them for hours. like im straight up we loved these movies. my only possible defense for what was up with me is that i was really anorexic haha so i was really weird in the head. but anyways, obviously mostly people only talk about those movies because they like rodrick and well looks around yeah. but also ☝️ we were retired glee kids. my friend had previously been the biggest fan of the warblers from glee (who altogether have maybe 8 minutes of screentime) and we were retired newsies fans. we were really cringey fandom kids still & we were really really good at loving total nothing background characters. so !

if you pay attention. in the first movie rodricks band consists of 1 redhead kid on guitar, some emo kid, and some other random guy. in rodrick rules/dog days, his band is two guys named ben and chris (plus bill in rodrick rules and some random kid they found for dog days). chris doesnt have any lines i dont think but he is there a lot in rodrick rules. i dont have any evidence but im like 79% sure he was definitely high during the filming. and if he wasnt hes really good at acting it. ben does have lines though :-) in rodrick rules he and rodrick drive rowley and greg home and discuss what song theyre going to perform at the talent show and he says "dude we'll get to go backstage" at the party scene.

um. anyways yeah. we made them into what was pretty much our own characters and gave them a whole story which is so long and. in all honesty i just forgot so much of i make shit up all the time for it when i do stuff with it now. but its silly and long and to sum it up -> ben works at office max in a mall (i dont think they have office max in malls) and rodrick keeps coming in to print/copy band posters. one night he breaks the machine so he and ben talk and rodrick asks him to join his band. he says yes, so ben and chris join the band which is rodrick and matt (emo kid from the first movie, who guess what doesnt say a single thing. he just stands there and claps at the sorry women scene) also the big joke with matt was that he works at chuck e cheese and hes the guy who wears the mouse costume and ben rodrick and chris all keep going there and pissing him off and eventually he gets mad and yells at them and thats how they all meet. i think thats what we created him for basically. ben is rhythm guitar/vocals, chris is bass, rodrick is drums, and matt is lead guitar. they break up at the end of highschool and reunite after dropping out of college and get world famous haha. just think like really annoying music kids in like 2007 who actually have a successful band...(their song is rodrick rules is good...i promise go look it up).

but ya. its unfortunately such a personal story to me atp that i cant let it go even though im not even friends with that person anymore. and also i dont really care. its funny & i draw them so much now and also. rodrick rules is such a good fucking movie. i dont care its definitely in my top ten favorites im deadass. whatevs.

other noteable things from this is kitty. whos my oc completely but shes chris' girlfriend and we made her up because the whole joke was she pegged him to paramore. hides my face this is just who we were at the time. but i draw her more with my own ocs than i do with chris her boyfriend who is the only reason she exists. i think thats all. im sorry this is so long but ive never actually explained the whole thing. theres so much more but i literally wont stop if i start. go thru the doawk tag on my blog 4 further explanation or ask me...i love talking about them please please.... bonus drawing of them i just did for this👍

Im quite a hardcore spirit enjoyer and tend to focus on spirits more than skykids. I still have SOME skykid OCs though, such as my sky persona Robin and the two gay coconuts whom i still have not named.

If and when you ever role-play with me, just know that I am not one for themes of heavy gore (like intestines exposed brain whatever), or NSFW themes. I am okay with roleplaying with minor gore (injuries that arent too graphic like cuts/stab wounds?), character death and angst, and swearing, though Robin wont do this themselves.

okay lets seee ummm:

1. definitely tag your fics correctly!! i remember reading that tumblr only really cares about your first 5 tags and the rest wont really do much/show up (?) which might not be true, especially now that tumblr updates so much. but i try to follow that rule just in case!!

also dont flood the tags with other members that aren’t even in the story/don’t play a major role

[for example] : if you’re writing haechan smut dont put #jaemin smut in the tags, that’s annoying sksksksks

2. just write whatever comes to mind!! not everything has to be formal or super intricate. some writing blogs strictly do blurb/drabbles, some do full fanfictions, and some only write fics with oc’s. maybe try and figure out what type of blog you want to be.

also there’s nothing wrong with being a mixture of all of those^^ if that makes sense c:

3. try your best to leave warnings for anything that’s not super vanilla!!

4. make sure your fics show up in the tags after 24hrs! if not you might have to repost it and check again. i’ve had that happen before and for some reason it happens more when you post in the tiny/small font :/

5. don’t feel like you have to take requests to get interactions/following.

6. if you’re writing for clout, then maybe don’t write at all. caring too much about notes isn’t very healthy <3

this is such a dumb question, but how did you start your blog? like, how do you even put yourself out there?

this isn't a dumb question at all!

this isn't my first blog, i actually had another where i posted stranger things content/fics. i had the tumblr acc for a while to read fics and i decided i wanted to post my own so i literally just sat down and wrote a steve x eddie fic (we don't talk about it) and posted it. and then later that night i made a masterlist which took me forever to figure out.

honestly, i recommend just looking at other people's blogs for inspo and figuring out how you wanna organize your blog, like for me, in particular, i have my navigation, various custom tags i use, request rules, and a masterlist. none of these things are required at all but definitely help just get everything in order.

for beginners, i recommend navigation and a masterlist at the very least. it doesn't have to be fancy or anything like that because the great thing about tumblr posts is that you can edit them so you can change them up as many times as you want.

my first masterlist was super simple it literally just had masterlist as the title and the name of the fic and the link. it doesn't need to be fancy or anything it just needs to be functional.

i initially didn't have a navigation and it wasn't like awful to the point where everything was falling apart but having one definitely helps. you can put all your links to your important posts like the masterlist and explain a little about you (optional) and you can even put your request rules on the navigation. (personally, i like using a different post so my nav isn't super cluttered!)

custom tags aren't needed but they keep all your stuff in one place. like for example i wrote/write for wednesday and death note on this account. i don't write for wednesday anymore so trying to find all my wednesday fics would mean a lot of scrolling but if i just look up the tag i correlated with all wednesday fics they're all in one place now.

if you're just starting out you might not wanna take requests because they can be overwhelming. when i first started writing for wednesday it was a super popular show i think it came out like 3 or 4 days before i started writing and i got like 10 requests the first day and was super bombarded. but if you do take requests, rules are a great thing to have, you know things you wont write and anything else you want to be included when someone is requesting like for example "when you're requesting, please specify what gender and/or pronouns" but to be honest not a lot of people read these, so its a 50/50 thing and can always be added later if you decide you want that. (same goes for everything else)

but when you're putting content out there it's important to tag correctly so that your post gets seen, especially if the fandom is small or not super popular at the moment.

i'm still trying to figure out the algorithm myself and how to use tumblr fully so it's okay if you don't get it on your first try! there's always room for error and improvement. and if you're scared about hate or people laughing or anything like that remember that they probably couldn't create something better and that the block button is there for a reason!

so im gonna preface this by saying. this comment reads to me like youre only replying to that one thing i said and fitting your own interpretation (or perhaps the larger fandom interpretation) of these two characters onto it, rather than taking it in context of the whole post. which is fine; youre entitled to your interpretation. but im gonna respond to the things youve said here as an opportunity to elaborate on my own interpretation of their relationship. because like. the reason i even made that comment in the first place was because i dont think any of what youve said is true, and some of it even directly contradicts the point of the original post. im not trying to convince you that youre wrong or anything - i just have a very different perspective on the characters that i want to share. anyway lets get into it

i dont think its true that kuusuke only obsesses over kusuo because theyre siblings - certainly, the facade he puts up is of a disgruntled older brother who is chagrined about his younger brother surpassing him, but his true feelings on the matter are more along the lines of excitement and wonder to have found someone stronger than him. hes a brilliant scientist who has found his lifes calling - i would argue that an au where kusuo was born without powers would alter their relationship far more than one where they werent siblings.

i also never really got the sense that kusuo was softer on kuusuke than he was on anyone else just because theyre family - kuusuke is just better at pushing kusuos buttons because he knows him better. the kusuos birthday episode, where kuusuke gives him a bunch of tasks in order to test him, is a good example - kuusuke pushes kusuo to the limits of both his powers and his patience, but placates him afterward with a lifetime supply of coffee jelly. hes certainly the only character who torments kusuo to this degree, but he also knows how to make it up to him, so it balances out to a comfortable back and forth.

its also worth noting that, while things like the cat tank or kusuomega seem far more extreme than anything kusuos friends would put him through, kusuo himself doesnt really see it that way. its part of the comedic premise of the show - to him, existing around someone who has a crush on him is just as much of a pain as fighting off a literal tank singlehandedly. his standards for a "disaster" arent normal because he isnt normal. the only real difference is that kuusuke torments him on purpose, but i think its inaccurate to say that saiki only puts up with that because theyre brothers. he puts up with it because he doesnt mind it as much as he says he does, just like with his friends dragging him on a trip or whatever. if he wasnt willing to humor kuusuke, he wouldnt do stuff like agree to play tag with him in london or apologize that he wont be able to play with him anymore. hes lying about how much he dislikes him.

i definitely agree that them being siblings is the reason for their current dynamic but i disagree that its /necessary/ for them to be siblings in order to have this kind of dynamic. they would certainly have to have known each other for a long time to develop the level of competition and open hostility between them, but theres no reason they couldnt be childhood friends - kuusuke would certainly be clever enough to pick up on and study kusuos powers even if he was trying to hide them, and kuusuke is demonstrably persistent enough to be harder to get rid of than akechi. its not entirely out of the question for them to remain close growing up even if they werent related.

and tbh i think the idea that theyre only Like That because they share dna is kind of a boring interpretation that doesnt actually explore their relationship very deeply - along with the idea that theyre "inexplicably drawn to each other", for that matter. theyre drawn to each other by the desire for someone, anyone, to understand them - they won't find it in each other, but its the closest either of them will ever get. that was the whole point of the original post 😭 sure, them being siblings is an important part of their dynamic, but the thing that most compels me is their shared alienation from normal people and resulting inability to connect with anyone (even each other). and that has nothing to do with them being siblings, especially since the afflictions that alienate them arent even related and dont give them any kind of shared experience to bond over.

in fact, shared alienation is arguably what brings the whole cast together - kusuos friends are all freaks and losers with no friends but each other. being the outcasts is the only thing they all have in common (inb4 "but teruhashi is popular!" yes, but shes still an outcast - being admired is not the same as having friends). whats different about the saiki siblings is that both of them have a complex about it - i mean, they each literally think of themselves as a completely different species from everyone else. and having something like that in common with someone and then spending a lot of time together naturally results in the kind of explosive toxicity that makes you let your brother hunt you for sport.

anyway tldr youre free to think of them as "siblings who have a very fucked up relationship but love each other despite that because theyre family", but personally i read them more as "two fucked up individuals who have the same kind of issues and take them out on each other in increasingly concerning ways culminating in a literal death match. who are also siblings" so. yes, i think this would be a popular ship if they werent siblings. hope this helps 👍

been thinking about the saiki siblings a lot lately....... their dynamic of "guy who experiments on you to feel something" & "guy who lets you experiment on him to feel something" is soooo compelling to me......

what if you were a genius scientist and there was only one person in the world who could compare to your talents, but he was better than you in every way and testing the limits of his superiority was the only thing that even remotely interested you. what if you were so powerful as to be considered inhuman and there was only one person in the world who understood that well enough to legitimately challenge you, and even though you know he'll never be able to beat you, maybe knowing you well enough to test your limits and take advantage of your weaknesses is close enough.

what if you were both so hyperaware of your own isolation from not only the rest of humanity but also each other that you couldnt ever leave each other alone. you reach for the person who comes closest to understanding you, and your inability to relate to each other is a constant reminder that neither of you can ever be normal. its the fucked up symbiotic relationship between a horrible monster that doesnt belong anywhere except in a lab, and the researcher who has been obsessively gathering data on it for his entire life. life was boring without you so i built a time machine and plunged the world into darkness. im sorry that being a normal person means i wont get to play with you anymore.

they can understand each other without speaking. the only time kusuo ever bleeds is at the hands of kuusuke. they have nothing in common except a shared complex about not being understood by normal people. and they hate each other. insane. im insane

I come bearing more Tech headcannons

Whenever posed with the question— even if hypothetical— on what his plans for the future would be after the war, he always had one answer in mind; teaching. He had always dreamt about teaching at one of Coruscants prestigious universities, or on Alderaan. Surrounding himself with minds much like his own was something he had always hoped for, constantly absorbed by knowledge and a thirst for learning. Tech very much so just wanted to be involved in the education field, to have the ability to teach others while still fueling his own thirst for knowledge.

Tech definitely has made a name for himself within the educational field, not directly however many of the science and engineering based professors and teachers have derived much of their newer material from an unknown source from within the GAR. He’s published his own works on his findings while deployed, mostly for his own amusement and to pass the time, however they’ve become quite popular among scholars. His penname is simply his own name, “Tech” however his readers find it to be an incredibly sophisticated and cryptic pseudonym, because of its simplicity. He’s basically a very humble Socrates of the Star Wars universe.

Tech taught himself how to pilot, and he’s done fairly well for someone who just one day decided to try to learn how to fly a whole ship. It wasn’t an easy process, it definitely took time and caused a lot of death scares for the whole team. He’s still working on his landings.. but he’s getting there, he’s come along way from when he started. Wrecker is just along for the ride, he wants to make sure his little brother doesn’t accidentally end up wrecking their ship head on and hurting himself in the process.

Tech is an absolute light weight. He’s done after a single shot, and when he’s intoxicated he somehow manages to get even more chatty. It starts off as more useless trivia, though incomprehensible, but eventually evolves into Tech’s weird, almost twisted sense of humor and sassy demeanor. He basically has no filter whatsoever and will say absolutely anything that comes into his mind. He also laughs at absolutely everything.

He’s got some secret hand to hand combat skills. He’s smaller and knows how to use that to his advantage. His goal is to aim low, tackle at the torso, lunge at the legs, anything that’ll give him a tactical advantage.

He’s a creative problem solver. The best way to describe it is by using the flag pole scene from Captain America The First Avenger. Why try climbing the flag pole when you can bring the flag to you? Unscrew the post, obviously. He’s full of all sorts of creative solutions for absolutely ludicrous scenarios.

His sense of humor is so weird. It’s absolutely bizarre and his brothers will do anything to avoid hearing Tech crack a joke. It’s either mildly disturbing, downright confusing, or both. Tech thinks his jokes are hilarious though.

He definitely threatens to tattle tale to Hunter regardng Wrecker and Crosshair. Mostly regarding Crosshair though. He definitely tells Hunter everything. Which is why his other brothers elect not to tell him the juicy details of whatever they may be up to. Of course he tries to insert himself into the conversation because he is a bit nosey, however Crosshair tells him to go away because “the adults are talking.” Then Tech runs off to tattle to Hunter, which inevitably leads to Huntet finding out about whatever mischief Crosshair and Wrecker were planning on getting caught up in.

As mentioned above, he is just a tad bit nosey. He’s not afraid to poke his nose into anything that interests him in the slightest. He has little regard for modesty when his interest is piqued. He just definitely likes to be involved and “in the know.” Whether it’s through hanging in a doorway for a littlr bit too long, using his gear to listen in on something he believes could be important in the future, or through simply butting into a conversation and insisting that he gets the details too.

He doesn’t curse. He believes it’s a poor display of oneself to do so and would portray him as unintelligent if he did so. He definitely gets on his brothers case for cursing as well, and of course theh won’t get away with cursing in another language either.

Sometimes his brothers wish he would talk about something other than science, or electronics, or anything he typically talks about. They wish for once that he’d just talk about normal things with them. Of course everyone else who’s not the bad batch finds it entertaining to listen to him spit off endless trivia, however his brothers find it impossible to hold a simolr conversation with him without him rambling off trivia or diverting the conversation to something of his special interests.

Despite Tech being a pushover at times his brothers nevertheless would die for him, as he would for them. Though it took time, they’ve come to a deep understanding for how Tech’s mind operates, and in so many words, Tech is immensely grateful for that.

Tech doesn’t really like to acknowledge that his brain functions differently from his brothers— all of them, even the ones outside of the batch. Whenever someone tries to bring it up he’ll make an effort to deflect the topic. It’s hard for him to explain how he feels about it, and he’d rather avoid the topic altogether rather than face it. He acknowledges his brothers concern for him, but he’d rather act as if his neurodivergence was non existent. It makes him feel as if he‘s just a little bit less different from his brothers.

He’s rarely prone to outbursts of any kind. However that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have them. It isn’t unheard of for him to get so fed up with a project to the point crying out of anger, he’s a perfectionist and when things aren’t going how he specifically planned, it becomes a real problem. An angry Tech is a scary Tech. Mostly because it rarely happens, which is a sure indicator that it means serious business when he is angry. He always cries when he’s angry, and he hates it, which only frustrates him even more. Decompressing takes a while, he usually needs a couple hours to unwind and to gather his thoughts again.

He doesn’t like being angry, or generally negative at all. It’s hard for him to express his emotions as it is, so feeling so much at once only makes him more confused and uncomfortable.
