While Izar is sick, his manager brings him breakfast in bed.

"Oh, Tommy, darling, you really don’t have to do all this,” Izar says. From the nest he’s made in their hotel bed, he has a perfect view of his manager fussing over the tray of food that had been brought up for him. 

“What are you talking about? Of course I do, you’re my star,” he shoots Izar a quizzical look over his shoulder, before returning his attention to the food. He’s moved half of the dishes off the tray and onto the table, leaving only the things that Izar had requested.

“I’m simply not presentable, dear. You shouldn’t see me like this,” he whines, pressing one hand to his fevered forehead theatrically. Like it’s an afterthought, he adds, “And I could get you sick.”

“Izzy, baby, you’re not gonna stop me from taking care of you," Thomas starts, a gentle admonishment. He has to pause his train of thought to focus on lifting the tray without spilling anything on it. Tea, a cup of fruit, toast, pots of jam and honey, and eggs all have to be balanced as he brings it over to place on Izar’s lap. A full spread of breakfast for him to pick at as he wished. Thomas settles himself on the edge of the bed next to Izar, so he can bring a hand up to brush his black curls behind his ear.

“Just relax, dollface. You know I don’t get sick easy. If It was gonna happen, I think it would have hit me by now,” he says, and Izar has a hard time summoning up a disagreement. It was a common occurrence for him to come down with a cold after tiring trips, and the journey from New York to London had been a long one. Thomas’ stronger constitution meant he rarely had the same issue.

“If you say so,” Izar acquiesces with a resigned sigh. 

“Attaboy,” Tommy says fondly, stopping to cup Izzy’s cheek before standing and returning to the desk. He takes a cup of coffee in one hand and the newspaper in the other, giving it a cursory glance before tossing it towards the bed for Izar to peruse. 

“I’m afraid I can’t stay and have breakfast with you,” he says between bites of toast washed down with coffee. The statement is met with an immediate pout and noise of protest from Izar, who sits up straighter in the bed.

“You have to go?” the singer asks, his voice taking on a noticeably anxious flutter.

“I’ve got some errands to run before catching up with Clerval at lunch this afternoon,” he confirms. Izar’s face only falls further, disappointment and anxiety furrowing his brow in equal measure. Thomas is at his side again in seconds, taking his hands in his own calloused ones. He’s always been unable to see him in distress and not do something to ease it.

“Come on, now. You can’t enjoy Clerval’s company that much; missing lunch with him won’t be the worst thing in the world,” he jokes, just testing the waters of how upset Izar truly is.

“You always go somewhere nice when you see him,” Izar whines. It’s a deflection of the real things he’s anxious about, and a deflection from commenting on Clerval, and they both know it.

“And I’ll take you somewhere nice, next time we go out. Once you’re feeling well,” he insists, lifting their joined hands to press a kiss to Izar’s knuckles.

“I can even invite Frenchie, if he’s still in town by then,” he adds with a wry smile, borrowing Izar’s nickname for the dilettante, which earns him a giggle.

“Maybe,” Izar sighs, and then asks, “How long are you going to be gone?” Closer to the truth of his anxiety.

“Just a few hours-” Thomas glances at his watch, which puts the local time at just past eleven in the morning- “I said we’d meet for lunch around noon, I’d say I’ll be back by three. Likely sooner.”

“Promise?” 

“Promise, Iz,” he leans forward, catching the singer’s wide brown eyes to fix him with a reassuring look. They stay like that for a peaceful moment, close and comforted, before Thomas leans in to give Izar a parting kiss. One that leaves Izar leaning into empty space, lingering in his longing, even after Thomas has slipped out of the door to their hotel room.

What Happened In the Past Year?

How many relationships were you in? Nada.

What did you do for Valentine's Day? If I remember it correctly I took myself to dinner at one of my favorite ramen places. Either that or a French restaurant I also like; I’m not sure anymore. I know I had fun in both instances though, which is really all I aimed for given how it was my first Valentine’s Day alone in a while.

Did you receive your driver's license? I already had it this year.

Did you graduate high school? No, I’ve been out of high school since 2016.

Did you graduate college? Nope, I graduated the year before.

Did you move out on your own? No. I’m nowhere near capable of doing that yet.

Did you get arrested? I didn’t. Not like there would have been a lot of opportunities for me to have gotten arrested lol; I stayed home for most of the year.

Did you get a speeding ticket? No, those aren’t very common here at all. I don’t think anyone can actually get stopped for speeding; like we have signs indicating speed limits and all, but it’s never been a thing to get stopped and given a ticket for.

What was the best thing you got for Christmas? Last year I really appreciated Andi’s gift, which had been a physical copy of Hayley Williams’ Petals for Armor, a CM Punk shirt, and the sweetest handwritten letter. This year all I want is MONEY because my greatest fear was confirmed just this afternoon with BTS announcing a concert in Seoul next year lmao.

Did you fall in love? Nah. Not the time for me right now, tbh.

Did you become an aunt or an uncle? No. I still have to do a bit of waiting for that haha.

Did you have a car accident? Thankfully no. I thought I’d be super clumsy after not driving for so long, but I adjusted to the road fairly quickly.

Did you get a new pet? Not in the last year but we did get Cooper during the pandemic. He’s a big, fat 30-pound ball of mischief now.

Did you drastically change your hairstyle? I wouldn’t say that. I trimmed my hair from my waist up to my collarbones this year, but I don’t think it had been all that daring.

What was the best movie you saw in theaters? Didn’t watch a lot of movies this year either. I did start a series called Hometown Cha Cha Cha, which I enjoyed.

What was the last movie you watched? It was a docu-series more than anything but I watched The Raincoat Killer a few weeks ago after stumbling on a review article on it.

The last place you went? I went to Bea’s house today so we could watch the online BTS concert together. Ysa was also there to watch with us.

They’ve actually recently opened cinemas again, but my friends and I are opting to wait it out a little more because there are still so many rules that would make the cinema experience so boring lol like we can’t even sit next to each other? and bring food? It’s not that we disagree with the protocols since they make perfect sense; but it also just sounds like a waste of a trip to the cinema if we have to experience the movie separately anyway.

The last time you went to Walmart? I have never been inside a Walmart.

The last time you went to Burger King? I have no clue. I never go to Burger King on my own; whenever I have a meal of theirs it’s almost always because my mom gets it for me.

Who was your first phone call to/from? I’m not sure. I tried scrolling down my log just to check if my phone was able to keep it but the oldest call it has on record right now was from April 2021 haha.

Where was the first place you went? Back to my bedroom, I’m guessing. I was heartbroken and not exactly in the most festive mood so I’m most likely right anyway haha.

What was the first thing you bought? Andi’s gift, I think. I did the shopping for them a little late since we weren’t able to see each other during the holidays.

Alright Poppy! I finally finished it. 

Honestly if it feels like this is not who you are or completely and totally out of character that’s okay just tell me I can absolutely do it again. Or if it just sucks...which it might cause like...I’m hella fucking sick, but my anxiety won’t let me not be productive so here we go.

BOKUTO X READER VALENTINES DAY FLUFF 

You’ve been with Bokuto long enough to have mildly convinced him that you don’t really care about the extravagance of Valentines day. You don’t want a huge box of chocolates, to which half of them you don’t even like, or a bunch of flowers that will be dead in a week. 

It’s not that you don’t appreciate them, you absolutely do...but it doesn’t feel necessary anymore.

He makes you feel loved each and every single day. 

You don’t need cheesy red and pink decorations hung up in the living room or an expensive dinner at a restaurant where you feel out of place.

It just feels like way too much when you’ve already got everything you want and need by simply having him in your life. 

It’s more than enough already. 

Bokuto looks down at the last page of his ‘special love coupon book’ and grins to himself.

He’s old enough now to know that it’s kind of ridiculous but he’s given one to you for every single holiday or special occasion you’ve spent together and though you sometimes roll your eyes at what he believes are quite frankly generous rates on the slips, you never fail to smile when you see it. 

And..you’ve even cashed a few in, though after the first time he made you promise not to actually tear them out again, they were in fact, unlimited. 

He’s satisfied with it when he’s done with the design, this year he’s beefing it up a bit and having it actually printed out so he wanted to make sure the colors weren’t overwhelming or anything. 

Once that’s complete, and submitted to the print shop...he’s kind of at a loss. 

He knows you don’t want anything big. You’ve more than made that clear, though he’s been given contradictory advice by a couple of his teammates.

Still...he knows that he knows you better than anyone and that you wouldn’t be secretly expecting more.

The issue then becomes that he still wants to celebrate the day with you, even if it’s a lowkey thing with just the two of you. 

He makes up his mind that he’s going to get some of your favorite food and drinks and a hardback copy of that book you’ve been wanting and he can still feel like he’s celebrating the love he has for you, and that you feel it too...without overwhelming you.

Yeah, that sounds good…

He texts your best friend three days in advance, after setting many, many reminders on his phone and asks if they’ll take you out to coffee or a movie on him, a secret between the two of them. They of course love him and how affectionate he is with you so they agree quickly and he sends the money over before he forgets. 

The morning of, you have a nice lazy morning in bed before you bring up the friend date, he makes a big act of begging you not to go but just before you change your mind and cancel, he gets flustered and says he should probably get his workout in early so the two of you can spend the evening together.

You find it a little suspicious given the fact that Bokuto is about as subtle as a sledge hammer and a terrible terrible liar, but you trust that he won’t ask for too much and you put it behind you and go on with your day. 

As soon as you’re out of the house he grabs every pillow and comforter he can find and texts someone he knows isn’t busy today and grins when he answers on the first ring.

“It’s just a fort, man. What’s so hard about that. You tie a couple sheets to your ceiling fan and throw up some fairy lights and bam, you’re done and everyone is happy.” Kuroo answers after Bokuto explains why he wants him over.

Sure, building a for looks easy, but ‘ol Bo has learned his lesson and he doesn’t do any kind of large scale (or small scale) project without supervision anymore. 

“Just get over here man. I don’t have a lot of time...and what are fairy lights? Y’know what just stop and get those or whatever you think we’re gonna need and I’ll pay you back.”

“No...no what’s the real reason you’re asking for help. Besides the fact that you’re decoratively challenged?” 

“I AM NOT! SOMEONE TOLD ME I COULD BE A MODEL LAST WEEK!” he calls out before he realizes he does still need Kuroo’s help.

He ignores Kuroo’s response and continues on. “Anyway, uh,” he rubs his neck, not wanting to admit the truth but Kuroo is kind of like an evil genius sometimes. “I may or may not have sworn an oath that I wouldn’t do any umm projects without help.” 

Kuroo immediately starts barking laughter against his ear. 

“Stop being such a jerk and get over here dude, I’ve only got a couple hours!” 

“Wh-what’s the-” Kuroo is still slightly wheezing from laughter. “What’s the penalty.” 

‘Oh no, not telling. I’m hanging up. Be over here in less than 25 minutes or I’ll tell Kenma you broke his lucky switch, bought a used one on a street corner and then filed the edges down to make it look ‘authentic’.” 

“Fuck. Ugh fine.” 

“Yeah, that’s what I thought.” 

Bokuto hangs up the phone with a smirk splayed on his lips. 

He makes a resolute promise to himself to never let Kuroo find out the consequences of not keeping his promise is that he can’t have kisses or cuddles for a full twenty four hours. 

What can he say, he’s weak..okay. He’s weak for you. 

Kuroo gets there after he’s scheduled the takeout delivery and sloppily wrapped both your coupon book and the one you were itching to read. 

He defends his blanket choices with his life but Kuroo insists on using these plain white ones he bought because it would ‘look more romantic’. He rolls his eyes but lets him do what he wants because if it’s one thing he does trust, it’s Kuroo’s eye for design.

“Ooh I forgot you had these ceilings...this is going to look awesome, dude.” 

“Good, now what do you want me to do…” 

“Nothing, I got this part.”

“Nooo, I want to do it myself,” he says, resisting the urge to stomp his foot. “It won’t mean as much if you just do it all for me.” 

“Y’know you might not be the brightest but you’re a good man, Bokuto.” 

“Eh?” he says, because Kuroo rarely ever compliments him sincerely.

“Nothin’ man, just get the clothespins.” 

They work together and in less than an hour it looks, well...it looks fucking amazing he thinks.

He’ll give up just this once and say Kuroo was right, the white sheets look pretty cool and the little lights they strung up are pretty neat too. 

It looks super romantic so he hopes you like it. 

He kicks Kuroo out before he can invite himself over, Kenma has a special v-day stream going on and he wants to crash it from a different ip, whatever that means. Well either way he turns him down and swears the secrets he has will yet again, stay between the two of them. 

Now he just needs to wait for you to get home. 

When your friend texts that they’re about to drop you off, his heart starts beating out of his chest and he gets super excited.

He waits for you at the door, stepping outside when he sees their car pull in and softly closes it behind him. 

“He yells out a greeting that could probably shake the ground if it was another decibel louder but you love how excited he gets so it doesn’t bother you. 

You make your way over to him with a skeptical look on your face as he starts nervously rubbing at his neck.

“Why are you outside?” you ask and there’s a pink tinge to his cheeks that you’re pretty sure isn’t from the cool weather. 

 “Umm Happy Valentines Day?” he says, an awkward chuckle quickly following the words.

“Kotaro...what did you do? Why are you standing outside?” you ask, immediately concerned about the state of your home. 

“I swear it’s not bad. I just wanted to surprise you so...please?” he asks, a hopefulness in his eyes that you can’t bring yourself to squelch no matter how worried you feel. 

“I mean I said I didn’t want anything big but I guess if you want-” you stop mid sentence, breath stuck in your throat when you see your transformed living room. 

He’s moved all the furniture except for the couch and the tv stand and it’s gorgeous. The lights twinkle a little in the darkness and you feel the irresistible urge to kiss his face. 

So you do.

He never objects to kisses. 

“This is really nice… I mean it. I’m sorry I almost ruined your plan or if I made you feel like you couldn’t do anything. I don’t ever want it to be that way. I just also don’t need you to make a big fuss,” you say, trying to be a little logical about it, but your heart is definitely thumping in that cheesy romantic way. 

“How about a little fuss…” 

“A little fuss feels nice.” 

You lay back on the couch, you read to him from your book and share music playlists that quietly add to the ambiance of your conversation. He coaxes you into some weird verbal games that he’s played with Akaashi over the years, because it was something he needed to bring him out of his shell a little and you end up laughing until your belly hurts.

Valentine’s day gifts: Makeup

So my husband decided to surprise me with some MAKEUP lol...I was shook...this is the first time he does a gift like this...and I’m impressed lol

He got me a morphe sponge, a mini MAC velvet Teddy lipstick, Norvina palette, Jaclyn Hill’s Dark Magic palette, and Jaclyn Hill’s Eye Master Collection.

I’ve been wanting the Jaclyn Hill items...but like the Norvina palette never even crossed my mind so i was like Meh about it lol and the other mini items as well, i was confused lol But i’ll take it. lol

I already got to play a little with the items and here are my mini thoughts.

Morphe Sponge- LOVED it. I’ve been using one that my friend gave me so idk what brand it is, but this morphe one is like WAY better...i feel like it gives off more product. 

MAC lipstick- the color is cute and maybe would work better on a more fair skin tone, but it looks ok on the go, if i just want to do a quicky makeup look...maybe even for summer.

Norvina palette- mmmm, like i said, i never really looked into this palette cus the colors seem dull to me...but i tried to make a look out of it, it was okay i guess. I think i can work with one or two colors....but it doesn’t seem that pigmented to me. I guess i’ll just try to look at some tutorials for inspiration. (I lowkey wanted to return the palette but i didn’t want to be rude to my hubby.)

Jaclyn Hill Dark Magic palette- I’ve been wanting this one for a while now. I currently own the Bling Boss one cus i LOVE purples...and yeah i have a few problems blending some of them but the colors are still gorgeous....I was scared that this palette would suck because of all the negative reviews...but the few colors i did I really liked! The shade ‘trickery’ was EVERYTHING! I lovedddd ittt!!!! I can’t wait to keep playing with this palette. 

Eye Master collection- I was shook that my hubby got me these!!!! I’m so happy. I’ve never really bought myself ‘brand’ brushes, its always like random elf brushes and stuff so these felt really nice....I will say though that in one of them the hairs kept falling out. That annoyed me cus i feel like they wont last long. The brushes were soft, but i really dont know what to do with all of them lol. I need further tutorials as well. 

Anyway, Overall I’m happy with my hubby’s gifts ^_^

Soooo, it’s almost Valentine’s Day and suddenly I’m getting this like nervous anxious feeling. My brain is being stupid and I KNOW it’s being stupid but I can’t stop it, yknow? So, for context, let’s revisit last years Valentine’s with my ex. Some remnants of it exist in my posts on here, but let’s go back anyway.

It was the Friday before Valentine’s Day. I wore this super cute outfit with a little sexy twist to surprise my ex (he kept saying he wanted a surprise like this, so when better than then?) I wait for him to come home from work. And I wait. And I wait. And I start to get tired and hungry and cold. And still I wait. Eventually, I’m so tired and lowkey pissed off and upset over waiting for like five hours after he was supposed to get home that I decide to hop into the shower. He comes home. Turns out he was out playing mtg with someone he didn’t even fucking like. Kept saying he thought he told me and all that bullshit. Whatever. Okay. I’m going to bed.

Cue Valentine’s Day. I get out my gift, super excited to give it to him. And his response is “Oh, I didn’t think we were doing gifts this year.” (For reference, this was like our third Valentine’s Day and he had never gotten me anything) and I looked at him like 🤨 because I had literally told him numerous times that I was getting him the exact thing that he had wanted for Valentine’s Day. I bought myself chocolate when we went grocery shopping. The year before I bought myself flowers.

And look, I didn’t expect anything lavish. It could have been my favorite candy bar for like $2 and I would have been happy! Just a “I thought of you and I love you happy Valentine’s Day.” Kinda thing. I’m a romantic! It’s who I have always been and always will be so Valentine’s Day is kinda exciting to me from that perspective.

So why am I nervous? Idk. I guess I’m anxious that I’m going above and beyond again only to be disappointed and I’m scared to be hurt in the same way that my ex hurt me even tho I know my boyfriend isn’t like that. I’m gonna ask him in the next day or so if he wants to go out for lunch or something (my treat, if he actually lets me pay lol, he always insists on treating). I hate tho, that my ex did all this shit that just…… still affects me today. Like, I have trust issues because of him and I hate that because it has nothing to do with my boyfriend now. He’s honestly the best and doesn’t deserve me feeling that way. But at least I also am self aware enough to know that it has nothing to do with him and that he is amazing and reassuring and just, seriously the best.

But goddamn this anxiety. What if I’m doing too much haha. Ugh. Stupid intrusive thoughts smh 🤦🏻‍♀️

Socks and I…we acknowledge each other’s existence and hang out when we need to. I only where socks with my sneakers and boots, and when it’s really cold. I cannot where socks all day. Like it’s impossible. When I wear socks I just feel hyper aware of the fact that there is cloth on my feet and it makes me uncomfortable. I can’t go to sleep with socks on, unless I’m extremely tired and just fell asleep. Even then, I’ll wake up with my socks kicked off in the morning.

32: tell us a story of something that happened to you after 3AM when you were with friends.

Most recently! My friend and I were trying to observe the meteor shower last weekend. And like the thing is for the first hour or so we didn’t see any and kept trying to find the best place to observe them. Then, I finally saw one, but it was right when my friend was looking down so she didn’t get to see it! And then, another hour or so passes and it just seems like we’re never gonna see another one, so we decide to head back to our dorms. BUt, on the way back we find a spot that would be just perfect to see them, so we just loitered there for almost another hour, jammin to music and just waiting to see some shooting stars! And then the next one comes but it happens right as I’m looking at my friend to talk to her, but she’s looking up so she gets to see it. After that some time passes and it’s already 3:30 a.m. and I’m tired and lowkey gotta pee, so we start making our way back to the dorms again. And then we find another spot that would be good viewing, so we chill there for a while because, though we’ve both seen a shooting star, we haven’t see one together. So we’re standing there, chillin, being goofs and listening to trap remixes of the Wii theme, when we both look up and go “OH!!!” and freak out bc we finally saw another shooting star and it was just great.

the past few days have been so stressful omg >.> i think I’m still adjusting to balancing work and school since work is around 15-18 hours a week now so I really have to stay on top of my game. I like having stuff todo though since I prefer being busy than lazy so I can’t complain that much. Seeing my friends (i won’t say who) complain about having no money or feeling fat when they have all the time in the world since their only obligation is school really ticks me off. I don’t mean to complain or anything but they have so much time--they’re just too lazy to actually move so it really annoys me listening to them complain all the time when they have more than enough time to fix those problems. I mean I chose to work and gym so it’s not that it’s unfair, but I’m actually working for the results while they’re just wishing for the same results but without putting in any effort. 

Work is going well though! I’m still a little anxious about closing by myself but it seems to be going ok; I just need to start my closing tasks a little earlier until I can complete them all in 30 min. It’s pretty chill and the pay is decent for the amount of work put into it so it’s all good. I can’t wait to earn more money than I earn so I can watch my bank account rise ehhe :D hard work pays off! 

Valentine’s Day went smoothly just as I hoped <3 We weren’t late for the reservation which is good and although Jason and I were the youngest couple by like 40 years HAAH it still was a good outing :) the food was really well cooked and tasty. I’m still kinda ticked off that they charged us for sparkling water when the waiter was like do you want mineral or sparkling water...we thought either was complementary but I think it was only the mineral water lmao rookie move on our part LOL after dinner we opened gifts and then just chilled and passed out ahha Jason got so much for me I feel like my present seems so cheap compared to his omg I feel bad cuz its a lot of money and he paid for dinner. The only thing I paid for was his gift since our Lyfts were free (ty tmobile tuesdays <3) Hopefully I can make it up to him and show that the money he spent was not in vain or wasted. I really am so lucky to have him. We’ve gone through so much the past 6ish months and I feel like we’re a lot stronger as a couple this time compared to last time-which is a good thing! I view him as my other half; without him I feel incomplete now since I’m so used to having him around me whether it’s in person or through messaging <3 

Clinicals is going well :) I am learning a lot from the nurses and they all seem friendly enough so I am not tooo nervous approaching them to ask a question. I learn so many new things each time so it’s hard to become bored or tired since everything is just so fascinating from how knowledgeable the nurses are about meds/diseases to how they can adapt to any situation when talking to a patient. Nursing truly is a remarkable profession and I’m excited to become an RN. 

School is going ok. Lowkey starting to feel burnt out already :/ sigh so much to do and I didn’t do as well as I wanted to on my pathopharm and fundamentals quiz :( so I really have to do well on the quizzes next week for those two subjects. Philosophy is going well; I still have 100% and the prof really liked my essay response to our week 2 quiz so she asked if she could anonymously use my answer as an example for the class as to what a good quiz answer looked like :) I felt really proud when she messaged me about that since I honestly thought my answer wasn’t that good since she didn’t give us much time for the quiz at all.  Really looking forward to the three day weekend so I can recover and catch up on homework LOL my life so tiring but it will be worth it.

Have you ever worn something your parents wouldn't approve of? Yeah I’ve gotten chided by my mom a handful of times, telling me to cover up with a jacket or something. But her reasoning was always men, so I’m usually able to defend myself and say that that’s not my problem and that’s something fucking men have to deal with themselves. We both know I’m right so she ends up begrudgingly letting me go out with whatever outfit I choose on that given day.

What do you hear right now? I’m watching an archived Facebook livestream of a senior citizen who had held a virtual piano concert to raise funds to afford his maintenance medicine. The media ate it up like crazy and it’s since gone viral, so I was able to I read about him earlier tonight. He reminds me so much of my late grandpa so I quickly searched for the finished concert on Facebook and now I have it on :)

When's the last time you saw a cousin? Around two weeks ago.

Where were you the last time you left your house? I can’t remember exactly. I think I went to Feliz...OH OK I remember now - I originally went to the nearby SM to handle an LBC delivery for work, and to stay at Starbucks for a few hours also to work. After that I went to their vape stall to buy new pods but they didn’t have any for the vape brand I use, so I went to Feliz as well to try my chances there. They ended up having a few flavors but not what I usually get, so I decided to try a new one - grape lol.

Describe the room you are in: Dark, filled with the lovely sounds of piano music, and the faint smell coming from my scented candle. Overall, light and peaceful.
