Ten First Lines

I was tagged a little while ago by the ever-wonderful @winterandwords to share ten first lines. (Thank you!) I believe I've done this for some WIPs in the past, so I'm gonna play around with my most recent writing and share the first lines from those scenes, starting with:

'Vibes WIP' First Scene (Kat POV)

It's cold, the kind of miserable cold you can only get in the city, and the drizzling rain looks like ash in my torchlight.

2. 'Vibes WIP' First Scene (Pilate POV)

Fact: the first blow always feels like a blessing.

3. 'Vibes WIP' Unknown chapter (Pilate POV)

Bleed (real blood) for me Fact: cruelty is much subtler than mercy. People will rarely misinterpret mercy as cruelty. But that doesn't stop them mistaking cruelty for mercy.

(I know it's more than one line, but I wanted to include it because that's it. That's the entire chapter. ^_^)

4. INUNDATE, Natasha POV

Natasha nursed her fury for a solid two days, giving TJ the silent treatment the entire time.

5. INUNDATE, Flint POV

Life was light, or light was life; one or the other, he couldn’t remember which one it was anymore but that was hardly surprising because he couldn’t remember much of anything anymore.

Casey found lying to journalists as easy as breathing.

The Asshole’s name was Sidhara, and it turned out she was among the better of the bunch.

Latrell took a shower and examined his injuries, mostly because it was easier than examining the intricacies of the argument when it was still so fresh.

for starters, let me explain what EXXXACCCTTLLLYY I am AND WHAT THE POINT OF THIS WHOLE BLOG IS:

im all in all just a normal being, with a small twist

IM MENTALLY BETTER THAN MOST

yeeaaaaaaa u heard me right. im DEFINITELY average in all physical, emotional and whatnot capabilities (maybe im far lower than average but WHO CARES).

the key point is that I exhibit no mental illness symptoms, now isnt that just perfect of me????? I mean cmon, 99% SKIN each other to "fix" themselves (in reality there is no fixing... unfortunately) and im just that 1% ur witnessing....... take a BOW(?)

now, for this blog (and its context)... I think its obvious???? if not then im here to "talk" (vigorously ramble) about my special trait (mental stability that no one rlly has anymore) simply because I have no one to listen to me (my friend constantly disagrees on my opinion so I had to take matters into my own hands)

anyway THE IDEA of resorting to a public space just for the sole reason of being heard out and agreed upon can take 2 turns..... ill let the dice roll out

pheww I'm finally finished. I posted this back in 2020 and finally got around to editing it again so it could fit more in my current writing style. this was the first time i really realized how much ive actually grown in writing and its such a small but big achievement for me to look back on! I still have a lot to learn but for now Im really proud of myself! thank you all so much for the support<3

“Hello!” Fred greeted happily as he entered the common room, noticing you curled up on the old leather couch. The fire slowly crackled as you sunk further into the comfortable piece of furniture. “Hello.” You mumbled back, eyes not leaving the book in your hands that was just about to get interesting.

Most of your friends were visiting Hogsmeade for the start of the weekend but your starting headache and sore throat made you sadly pass on the tempting invention, leaving you stuck with a certain redhead. Fred Weasley. Your bestfriend since day one but also your crush since year four. If you could even call it a crush anymore. You’re almost head over heels for this boy, practically drooling over him at the slightest mention of his name. And it didn’t go unnoticed, much to your disliking was whole Gryffindor aware of your feelings towards the Weasley.

“What’s wrong?” Fred asked softly, sitting down next to you. Your eyes scanned his for a second as a worried look crossed face. You couldn’t help but let a small smile slip at his concern, finding it rather cute that he seemed to genuinely care so much.

“Nothing, I’m just not feeling really well that’s all.” You sighed, closing the book and putting it on the table besides you. His brows furrowed, the concern still clearly visible in his features. It was a look on him you didn’t saw often. He mostly was this loud and energetic person, so you found pride in the way he trusted you enough to expose his more vulnerable side with you.
