Carlo Quinto: 1. VERY good 2. he has some character development 3. oh YES @carlodivarga-s and I are convinced that him and Silva Fucked) 4. no, he survives and even appears in Don Carlo (might be a ghost) overall: 7/10

Francesco Foscari: 1. gorgeous music! 2. tragic father who remains pretty static but has a lot of Inner Turmoil 3. nah he’s like 80 4. oh yes, there are some Boris death scene vibes too overall: 7.5/10

Macbeth: 1. excellent! 2. he’s a complex villain alright 3. why’d you have to kill Banquo you could have been boyfriends! 4. yes (sometimes even gets a brief death aria depending on version) overall: 7/10

Ezio: 1. beautiful 2. kinda shady tbh 3. he wants to get dicked down by Attila so badly he would betray his emperor as long as he gets to keep Italy 4. no (but historically gets murdered later) overall: 6/10

Francesco Moor: 1. excellent music 2. he’s a horrible evil villain who gets a mad scene where he’s tormented with guilt 3. a little bit with Arminio 4. in most stagings, yes (usually by his own hand) overall: 8/10

Pasha Seid: 1. pretty music but not Verdi’s most inspired 2. probably the most flat and boring baritone in any Verdi opera 3. nah 4. not particularly tragic, he (deservedly) gets shanked by a woman he enslaved. doesn’t even get to die on stage overall: 2/10

Rigoletto: 1. music? god tier 2. one of the most complex characters in all of Verdi 3. if only he noticed Sparafucile's flirting attempts XD 4. doesn’t die before the curtain falls but I imagine he dies soon after losing Gilda overall: 9.5/10

Count di Luna: 1. again, music is heavenly 2. often written off as a typical baritone villain but he’s more complex than he’s given credit 3. dude. just forget Leonora and kiss Ferrando already 4. no, but probably kills himself soon after the finale overall: 9/10

Germont: 1. pretty music but a bit overrated 2. he’s jerk who hides behind nice tunes 3. he’s probably homophobic 4. no overall: 5/10

Monforte: 1. haven’t heard Vespri in a long time but when is Verdi’s music not great? 2. he’s a rapist who feels entitled to his son’s love. a son he didn’t care about until recently. fuck him tbh 3. nah 4. tragically? more like HE HAD IT COMIN’ overall: 3/10

Simon Boccanegra: 1. music is out of this world 2. one of the most genuinely kind baritones in opera, a rich, complex personality and some juicy family drama 3. the way some basses play Fiesco (especially Lloyd and Kares) I definitely think they should kiss 4. absolutely beautiful death scene overall: 10/10 (Paolo is disqualified from this list for killing him)

Renato: 1. very good music but occasionally feels a bit false? unfitting the text? only at a few points. his big aria is perfect 2. he’s complex and a bit more relatable than your average Jealous Baritone Husband 3. he’s in love with Gustavo. you know it, I know it, whoever made that very gay Met promo photoshoot knows it 4. no overall: 7/10

Don Carlo di Vargas 1. music great 2. he’s a chaotic mess 3. oh boy. his whole love/hate relationship with Alvaro is a goldmine. those duets... that passion... 4. yes, although sometimes off-stage which is Not Valid overall: 9/10

Rodrigo: 1. excellent music! 2. he’s here to fight for liberty and love Carlo and sass Filippo 3. the gayest. literally dies for his beloved tenor. 4. epic tearjerker death scene overall: 10/10

Amonasro: 1. good music but he’s a fairly short role 2. he’s mostly a dick to his daughter 3. nah 4. dies off-stage (no big loss) overall: 3.5/10

Iago: 1. music excellent 2. is Iago just chaotic evil for fun or is there more to him? we just don’t know 3. kinda, depending on the singers, but he’s pretty bad representation 4. nah overall: 6/10

That photoshoot of Axel is god tier. Sophie Elgort is a great photographer and he looks utterly incredible.

Ahahahaha yessssss I love it so so much ! He looks so magnetic and that’s what he deserves. Like honestly one of the things that impresses me so much is how much presence he has, in skamfr but also IRL in his plays. He’s just capable of filling that scene alone with all that energy for hours no problem. You just have to look at him, he’s just that compelling and he knows it, but not in a bad way. And it really shows in those pictures. Not my usual type tbh but damn, that’s hot. That’s the right type of confidence I think, not agressive but still damn commanding. Anywayyyyyyyy

OH MAN I SURE DO i have a couple but the first one that comes to mind happened at Nebraskon 2013!!!we attended the Homestuck photoshoot on Friday of the con. I was god tier Kanaya, @sarcasmgalore was god tier Rose, @plaguemd was Kankri. We had a couple other friends there too! And there was this Nepeta cosplayer. she was probably 16-17? For some reason she had a "sopor slime pie" that was just lime jello in a pie tin. she offered it to everyone but there were no spoons or anything to eat it with and that's... not sanitary. at all. so my friends and i didn't have any.and thank god we didn't because later we found out it was actually a giant jello shot. (that whole con was a fucking nightmare for us tbh)
