@potestmagice, for Clark,
They had found him unconscious near the property lines, just... out of nowhere, seemingly just... teleported, perhaps. It would hardly be the first teleporter in the school's history, but no... Victoria was fairly certain that teleportation was not this man's power. His brainwaves ran... differently. Not impossible to access, just... different.
He was brought under the school, to the infirmary, to be monitored until he woke. But Professor X, as the school lovingly called him, and most of the teachers were out doing... what, exactly, she was trying exceptionally hard not to find out, which meant she was left in charge of the school. And, by extension, the stranger.
Her eyes were closed as she sat in a chair near the door out of the infirmary, but she was far from asleep. Just focused. It was only when she felt his mind stir that she finally looked up to him. "You were unconscious for twelve hours. I would suggest taking it easy for a bit, Clark." She could blame the ID in his wallet for knowing his name, as the wallet was sitting on the table near him, but no... that was just a cursory view of his mind.
#potestmagice#muse: viktoriya#v: long time coming#this verse is set around the time of X-Men Apocalypse#so sometime around 1983#but that by no means means Clark needs to be from then#in this verse she is Charles Xavier's daughter not granddaughter#hence the spelling not being the same as the muse tag I used

before you interact please read the post! / mutuals only.
hello! it’s that time again i try to sell myself as a potential writing partner. i have written these in the past and been successful in occasionally finding roleplay partners who are interested in the same sorts of things as me. so i am looking for people who want to world build with me. i really like discussing plots, headcanons, and anything that can make me understand your muse better! i love sharing memes, drabbles, not roleplaying linearly and tossing around multiple threads! i don't need many people to write with but i really prefer to have a handful of people who i know well, am invested in their muses/feel super comfortable with my knowledge of their muses & pingpong my annoying ideas at them easily.
i tend to write lengthier things but i am okay with any length as long as it’s not one-liners! i also have zero interest in writing with someone who i will only have one thread with and never speak to again. 💀 i just rather focus on threads that will grow outside of just one single reaction! i like to think i am pretty easy to toss shit around with but i am a little shy so sometimes it takes a while for the ball to start rolling but once it is i am full-sending that shit.
so if you’re interested please GIVE THIS A LIKE and I WILL APPROACH YOU after i check out your muses/rules, if i haven't gotten around to it already! i am 100% gonna write the starter for whatever we come up with! i just ask if i take the time to write the starter that you reply to it at least once. failure to do so will result in me soft blocking since it happens so often and is super discouraging (and a waste of my time tbh). that might seem harsh but we could always write together when you do have the time or availability to reply.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ME: can call me nic! 29. cst. they/them. selective. slow replies due to work and other responsibilities. willing to make new muses for people if i really like an idea/plot! emphasis on slow activity! please keep in mind that i take a whole lot of time sometimes.
THINGS I REALLY LIKE: pacific rim, the 100, the walking dead, baldur's gate 3, queens gambit, any apocalyptic setting, harry potter series, alice in borderlands, video games, league of legends, any mcu movie, x-men series, fantasy shows/games, fairies, hunger game series, graceling & demon slayer.
TYPES OF AUS: any type of apocalypse setting, fantasy, crime aus, soulmates au, period/era verses, dystopian, slice of life, mythological, anything with werewolves, royal aus, vigilantes, & mutant aus.
VIBES: angst (tbh most of my blog is angst), fluff, horror, cliches, tropes welcome, & the occasional smut when it fits the mood.
CHARACTERIZATION: i exist in extremities. i like writing really bad villains with zero remorse or softer characters with a more righteous morality. i enjoy writing against almost everything. i am open to exploring most things and you can find out more extensively my habits through my rules.
open to any type of relationship: family/friendship/romantic/enemies. doesn’t have to be romantic. however, if it is – i always write with anyone so gender/fc/etc doesn’t every bother me. write who you want to!
be prepared to: communicate, toss around ideas, explore plots & dynamics, share your interests with me as well, & be adored / have your muse(s) adored by me & mine.
links: muses & laws. memes. verses. wanted plots.
#&. ooc.#&. starter call.#( listen i will really be sadge if you all like it and dont reply to my starters )#( i swear it happens 80% of the time )#( but I AM WILLING TO KEEP TRYING )#( this aint so much a starter call as it is a rp buddy call )#( do not reblog. )

Cameos: They’re not just videos that actors do in their living rooms for money! In its excellent first season, the X-Men ’97 writers have had a lot of fun giving viewers little views into the Marvel Universe beyond the X-Mansion. A quick glimpse of Spider-Man here, a conversation between Rogue and Captain America there — it’s a thrilling old-school approach to comic book cameos that signals the scale of what’s happening instead of teasing the potential for spinoffs.
Those cameos step up big time in the three-part “Tolerance is Extinction” finale, as the human-machine hybrid Bastion plunges the world into chaos. As a result, we get some neat cutaways to Marvel heroes around the world reacting to a pending apocalypse — Daredevil fighting crime, Doctor Strange mid-surgery — and one that implies something kind of big. Take a look at these two:
Marvel animation heads will recognize them as Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson as they appeared in Spider-Man: The Animated Series, which was set in the same continuity as X-Men. What’s notable here is that both MJ and Peter are seen here, together, in a show that’s a sequel to their cartoon contemporary.
Spider-Man famously ended on a cliffhanger, as escalating threats led to the webslinger bopping his way around the multiverse (I know) with Madame Web (I know) to find Mary Jane. The reason? Earlier in the series, Peter learns that the Mary Jane he married at the start of the final season was in fact a clone (relatable, as Scott Summers would say), and the real Mary Jane was lost in limbo after getting pulled through a portal two seasons prior.
So yeah: in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scene, X-Men ’97 gives Spider-Man a happy ending, showing Peter and Mary Jane reunited at last. But there’s a bit more to the story if you’re curious.
Spider-Man producer and head writer John Semper has spoken quite candidly about his time running the animated series (not a picnic) and how his intended plans to end the series were disrupted by the network wanting to reboot the show into the bizarre Spider-Man Unlimited. After notably beating Spider-Verse to, well, the Spider-Verse with a final story that had his Spider-Man meet multiversal versions of himself, Semper left the door open for a final story that would depict Peter’s search for MJ. Over the years, Semper has said varying things about that final story — one version was a journey through history that would include Jack the Ripper — but ultimately, it’s hard to imagine the story ending in anything other than a reunion, even if it was off-screen.
Well, until now.

Day 7 - A free space drabble
Here's a snippet of something that has been rolling around in my head. It's set in the Evo-verse, which is probably my favorite 'verse to read but not one I've written in. I have a rough outline of the story in my head but I'm not sure what I'm doing with it. I guess we'll see 🤷🏻♀️
Rogue tossed her backpack over her shoulder as headed out of the auditorium classroom.
Her civil liberties class had ended early and she was done class for the day, and she was eager to get home and start on the copious amount of homework that had already started piling up.
She had just started her junior year at the local university, studying pre-law. It was ironic given her criminal past and brushes with the law, but she knew she could help make a difference for mutant rights in the courts and help those less fortunate. It really wasn't that different than what the X-Men did. Practicing law and defending the less fortunate were actually the perfect profession for a bleeding heart like her.
For years she had covered up and hidden behind a tough, untouchable Goth facade but that was only because she was literally untouchable. One swipe of a finger, an elbows, her lips, and thoughts, feelings, mannerisms, even mutant powers, were all downloaded into Rogue's brain. Over the past couple years, after sealing Apocalypse in the pyramid and saving the world, Rogue had slowly been working toward control over her powers.
It was slowly going at first but more recently she was making great progress. She was now able to make physical contact for up to 10 minutes before her absorption power kicked in.
She was nearing her Mini Cooper S, a high school graduation gift from Logan and the Professor, when she saw him. Remy LeBeau.
It had been 2 years, 3 months, and 10 days since she last saw the low-life swamp rat but she didn't think about him. Much.
At first she managed to convince herself that despite having found some common ground with the irritatingly handsome Cajun thief and one-time enemy, there was no way she was attracted him. He was a criminal. He had no scruples. And she definitely wasn't hypnotized by his devilish eyes. His dreamy red on black eyes, which threatened to burn her alive with their gaze.
Most of all, Rogue didn't believe in love at first sight. No matter how many of those harlequin novels she secretly read, sensible women do not just fall for the scoundrel. And one thing she highly valued about herself was her sensibility.
She stopped in front of him, ready to throw down.
"Not uh, no. Ah don't think so. You best move off my car, swamp rat, before Ah kick your ass. Ah got nothing to say ta ya."
He licked his lips, giving her a once over that ended with his gaze locking in on her bright green eyes that were no longer dulled down by thick black eyeliner. "Is dat any way t'treat an old friend, chere?"
"Friend?" she scoffed. "It's been two years! Two years since New Orleans. Haven't heard from ya since. Ain't such a great friend, huh?"
Even after two years, she had to admit, he still looked good. He was wearing his hair longer. A longish auburn shag that fell across his face. It was so much better than the stupid bowl cut. And gone was the goatee. Instead he was rocking all-over stubble. He was also wearing plain clothes, though he was still wearing a beat-up duster. This was the first time she'd seen him wearing something other than a uniform.
Rogue found she liked it. A lot. Then she immediately chastised herself for the errant thought.
He looked genuinely pained for a split second before masking his face. "Things have been... complicated down South. I'm sorry I couldn't look you up sooner. Truly, Rogue."
She wasn't buying his apology and was ready to dish out a sarcastic retort.
"Ahm SO sorry to hear that," she said in mock sympathy. "So, what can Ah do for my old friend Gambit? And hurry it up. Ah got a constitutional law exam to study for."
"Please, it's Remy," he said sincerely. "And law, chere? Dat's the subject of m' people."
He smirked and she rolled her eyes in disgust.
"It's true. We thieves are well acquainted with de many facets of U.S. and international law. Practically learned all de criminal law statutes along with our ABCs. If y' ever lookin' for a study buddy, I'd gladly offer m' services."
She sneered at his come-on and motioned for him to hurry up and start talking about the real reason he was here.
He took a breath. "I was hopin' y might consider putting in a good word with de X-Men for me."
Her mouth actually dropped. That's not at all what she thought he'd say. She looked at him blankly. "Ah'm sorry. What did ya just say?"
****
Gambit had been shadowing Rogue for weeks now. Getting to know her routine and rituals. Waiting until just the right moment to make himself known.
She seemed to have grown into herself. She walked with an air of confidence. Something the Goth teen hadn't had when he last saw her. In fact, she had ditched the Goth look altogether and seemed to be in favor of a more stripped-down natural look. Interesting.
Remy found it sexy as hell. He couldn't argue with her new look. Though the dark Goth style had never been his type, Rogue wore it well. And beyond even her good looks, there was something about her that drew him to her. Maybe it was the fact that her upbringing had paralleled his so closely that it innately felt like she was his kindred spirit. He felt connected to her in ways he couldn't describe or even begin to understand.
Not that he believed in that twin flame/soul mate nonsense. Not really.
Now that she ditched the makeup and apparently her flat iron, if her fluffy waves were any indication, Rogue was a knockout.
Even more curious was, although she still wore gloves, her outfits were noticeably less layered with more skin showing. In his shadowing of her, he hadn't seen her interact much with anyone other than brief conversations with classmates on campus and batistas at the local coffee shop she liked to study at. He hadn't dared follow her inside the Mansion's gates... yet. He wanted to lay low for as long as possible.
He looked up to see her huffing over to him. Dieu, she looks beautiful when she's riled up. He can't wait to talk to her, to verbally spar with her. He's been aching for it since he'd gotten back to town three weeks ago.
And for the last two years if he's being honest.
He glances down at his watch. She's right on time.

so i did a reading challenge this year and i wanna talk about what i read
transcription under the cut
i did Popsugar 2019 and wanna talk about what i read: Book Reccs and Anti-Reccs
1.) Becoming a Movie in 2019: Umbrella Academy (vol 1) by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba
4/5. A fascinating take on superpowers, dysfunctional families, and the apocalypse. Can get pretty gory, confusing here and there and you have to pay close attention to panels for lore, but overall an entertaining romp.
2.) Makes you Feel Nostalgic: Circles in the Stream by Rachel Roberts
4/5. Middle grade novel about the magic of music, belief, and of course, friendship. Definitely written for kids, and has some unfortunately clumsy Native rep, but overall an absolute joy to dive into once again.
3.) Written by a Musician: Umbrella Academy (vol 2) by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba
4/5. Ramps up the confusion to ridiculous degrees with some absolutely bonkers, unexplained arcs, but still fun to watch this dysfunctional family do its dysfunctional thing.
4.) You Think Should be Turned into a movie: All That Glitters by Rachel Roberts
4/5. Continuation of Circles in the Stream, but with more unicorns, more rainbows, and more fae, which makes it automatically even better than the first.
5.) With At Least 1 Mil. Ratings on Goodreads: 1984 by George Orwell
1/5. I understand why it's important and all but wasn't prepared for some of the more graphic scenes and the overall hopelessness of the message. Would not recommend or read again.
6.) W/ a Plant in the title or cover: The secret of Dreadwillow carse by Brian farrey
5/5. A fantasy world where everyone is always happy, save for one girl and the princess, who set out to solve the mystery of their kingdom. Poignant and great for kids and adults.
7.) Reread of a favorite: Cry of the Wolf by Rachel Roberts
4/5. Yet another installment in the Avalon: Web of Magic series, which clearly I am obsessed with. Please just read them.
8.) About a Hobby: Welcome to the Writer's Life by Paulette Perhach
5/5. A welcome kick in the pants, chock full of great advice told without condescension, and full of hope and inspiration for writers both new and old.
9.) Meant to read in 2018: The Poet x by Elizabeth Acevedo
4/5. Absolutely beautiful coming of age novel told in verse. Do yourself a favor and listen to the audiobook version.
10.) w/ "pop," "sugar," or "challenge" in the title: Black Sugar by Miguel Bonnefoy
2/5. I think maybe I just don't understand this genre. Or maybe the translation was weird. I was confused.
11.) w/ An Item of Clothing or Accessory on the cover: Our dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani
4/5. It had a lot more slurs/homophobia than I was prepared for, but otherwise is a very touching, relatable collection of queer characters living in a heteronormative world.
12.) Inspired by Mythology or Folklore: Ravenous by MarcyKate Connolly
3/5. A girl goes on an impossible quest to save her brother from a child-eating witch. Really wanted to like it more because I loved the first one, Monstrous, but it dragged a little.
13.) Published Posthumously: The Islands of Chaldea by Diana Wynne Jones
3/5. I adore Diana Wynne Jones, but this one was missing some of the magic of her other books. Not sure if it was because it had to be finished by someone else, or if I just grew out of her stories.
14.) Set in Space: Binti by Nnedi Okorafor
4/5. Powerfully written story of a girl straddling tradition and innovation, who wields power through mathematical magic, surviving on a spaceship alone with a dangerous alien occupation after everyone else has been killed.
15.) By 2 Female Authors: Burn for Burn by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian
2/5. Ostensibly a story about a revenge pact in a small island town, but leaves far too many dangling threads to attempt alluring you to the sequel.
16.) W/ A Title containing "salty," "bitter," "Sweet," or "Spicy": The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith
3/5. It's okay but I literally just never know what anyone means at any time. Are they being reticent on purpose or do i just not understand communication
17.) Set in scandinavia: Vinland Saga by Makoto Yukimura
2/5. Technically and historically accurate and well made, but the story itself is not my cup of tea. Very gory.
18.) Takes Place in a Single Day: Long WAy Down by Jason Reynolds
4/5. A boy goes to avenge his murdered brother, but ghostly passengers join him on the elevator ride down. Stunning and powerful character-driven analysis.
19.) Debut Novel: Nimona by Noelle Stevenson
4/5. Charming and then surprisingly heart-breaking comic about Nimona, a shapeshifter who wants to become a villain's minion. Really love the villain/hero dynamic going on in the background, along with the dysfunctional found family.
20.) Published in 2019: The Book of Pride by Mason Funk
4/5. A collection of interviews with the movers, shakers, and pioneers of the queer and LGBTQ+ community. An absolutely essential work for community members and allies alike.
21.) Featuring an extinct/imaginary creature: Phoebe and her Unicorn by Dana Simpson
4/5. Incredibly charming, Calvin and Hobbes-esque collection of comics featuring the adventures of Phoebe and her unicorn best friend.
22.) Recced by a celebrity you admire: The Emerald Circus by Jane Yolen
2/5. Recced by my fave author Brandon Sanderson. An unfortunately disappointing anthology proving that any story can be made uninteresting by telling the wrong section of it.
23.) With "Love" in the Title: Book Love by Debbie Tung
4/5. One of those relatable webcomics, only this one I felt super hard almost the entire time. Books are awesome and libraries rule.
24.) Featuring an amateur detective: Nancy Drew: Palace of Wisdom by Kelly Thompson
4/5. REALLY love this modern take on Nancy Drew, coming back home to her roots to solve a brand new mystery. Diverse cast and lovely artwork, though definitely more adult.
25.) About a family: Amulet by Kabu Kibuishi
4/5. Excellent, top tier graphic novel about a sister and brother who have to go rescue their mother with a mysterious magic stone. LOVE that the mom gets to be involved in the adventure for once.
26.) by an author from asia, Africa, or s. America: Girls' Last tour by Tsukumizu
4/5. Somehow both light-hearted and melancholy. Two girls travel about an empty, post-apocalyptic world, and muse about life and their next meal.
27.) w/ a Zodiac or astrology term in title: Drawing down the moon by margot adler
3/5. A good starting place for anyone interested in the Neo Pagan movement, but didn't really give me what I was personally looking for.
28.) you see someone reading in a tv show or movie: The Promised NEverland by Kaiu Shirai
4/5. I don't watch TV or movies where people read books so i think reading an adaptation of a TV series after watching the series counts. Anyway it was good but beware racist caricatures
29.) A retelling of a classic: Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy by Rey Terciero
5/5. We can stop the Little Women reboots and retellings now, this is the only one we need. In fact, we can toss out the original too, this is the only one necessary.
30.) w/ a question in the title: So I'm a spider, so what? by Asahiro Kakashi
4/5. Cute art despite the subject matter, and a surprisingly enthralling take on the isekai genre. Love the doubling down on the video game skills.
31.) Set in a college or university campus: Moonstruck (vol 2) by Grace Ellis
2/5. An incredibly cute, beautiful, and fascinating world of modern magic and creatures, but unfortunately falls apart at the plot and pacing.
32.) About someone with a superpower: Moonstruck (vol 1) by Grace Ellis
4/5. Though nearly as messy plot-wise as its sequel, the first volume is overwhelmingly charming in a way that overpowers the more confusing plot elements.
33.) told from multiple povs: The Long way to a Small, Angry Planet by becky Chambers
4/5. Told almost in a serial format, like watching a miniseries, a group of found-family spaceship crew members make the long journey to their biggest job ever.
34.) Includes a wedding: We Set the dark on fire by Tehlor kay mejia
4/5. Timely and poignant, a girl tumbles into both love and resistance after becoming one of two wives to one of the most powerful men in the country.
35.) by an author w/ alliterative name: The only harmless great Thing by brooke bolander
3/5. Much deeper than I can currently comprehend. Beautifully written, but difficult to parse.
36.) A ghost story: Her body and other parties by Carmen Maria Machado
4/5. It counts because one of the stories in it has ghosts. A sometimes difficult collection of surrealist, feminist, queer short stories.
37.) W/ a 2 word title: Good omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
4/5. Charming, touching, and comical, probably the best take on the apocalypse to date. Also excellent ruminations on religion and purpose.
38.) based on a true story: The faithful Spy by John Hendrix
4/5. Brilliantly crafted graphic biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and his assistance in fighting back against Nazi Germany.
39.) Revolving around a puzzle or game: the Crossover by Kwame alexander
4/5. The verse didn't always hit right with me, but the story is a sweet, melancholy one about family, loss, and moving on.
40.) previous popsugar prompt (animal in title): The last unicorn by peter s. Beagle
5/5. Absolutely one of my all-time favorite books, it manages to perfectly combine anachronism and comedy with lyricism, melancholy, and ethereal beauty.
41.) Cli-fi: Tokyo Mew Mew by Mia ikumi and Reiko Yoshida
4/5. Shut up it counts
42.) Choose-your-own-adventure: My Lady's choosing by Kitty curran
3/5. Cute in concept, a bit underwhelming in execution. Honestly, just play an otome.
43.) "Own Voices": Home by Nnedi Okorafor
3/5. The storytelling style was definitely not my style; while the first book was slow, too, it felt more purposeful. I found my attention wandering during this installment.
44.) During the season it's set in: Pumpkinheads by rainbow rowell
3/5. Cute art, but precious little substance. The concept simply wasn't for me in the first place.
45.) LITRPG: My next life as a villainess: All routes lead to doom! by Hidaka nami
5/5. An absolute insta-fave! Charming art, endearing characters, an incredible premise, and so much sweet wholesome fluff it'll give you cavities.
46.) No chapters: The field guide to dumb birds of north america by matt kracht
3/5. It started out super strong, but the joke started to wear thin at a little past the halfway point.
47.) 2 books with the same title: Unfollow by Megan Phelps-Roger
4/5. A brave and enduring personal story of growing up in and eventually leaving the Westboro Baptist Church. Really called to me to act with grace and kindness even more in the future.
48.) 2 books with the same title: unfollow by rob williams and michael dowling
1/5. How many times do you think we can make Battle Royale again before someone notices
49.) That has inspired a common phrase or idiom: THe Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
4/5. Definitely good and deserves it's praise as something that pretty much revolutionized and created an entire demographic of literature.
50.) Set in an abbey, cloister, Monastery, convent, or vicarage: Murder at the vicarage by agatha christie
3/5. I just cannot. physically keep up with all of these characters or find the energy to read between the lines.
ok that's all i got, what did y'all read and like this year? (oh god it’s gonna be 2020)

Endgame Alternate Ending
Loosely based off Jean kicking Apocalypse’s ass [here]
The X-Men had gotten into the jet, having picked up on readings of Thanos and his army reappearing in New York after 5 years of being MIA, delayed by Sarah sensing half the universe return to life. Xavier is keeping her steady, they’re all able to pile into the jet and start on their way to the Avengers Facility. Flashes of many futures that could result from this standoff running through her mind. But one possible future stands out to her. There’s only one where they all could make it out alive. She needed to make sure that happened.
They deployed the surviving half of the Snap’s X-Men to the battle scene, the ladies joining in with the Avengers’ female half of the team to try and get the gauntlet to the van. It didn’t work. Blue eyes scanned the field around them and Sarah sees her newly resurrected family guarding Spiderman; X-Men and Avengers working together to protect each other. Xavier himself, having been out of his wheelchair these last 2 years was going toe to toe with Thanos--but he wasn’t doing well. He hadn’t fought this hard since Apocalypse all those years ago. And that’s when she senses it.
Her gaze focuses on Tony when he adheres the stones to his Iron Man suit, ready to make the ultimate sacrifice and the telepath sees what goes through his mind. Pepper. Morgan. Peter. His parents. Everyone else who was dear to him starts flashing through Tony’s mind as Sarah launches herself between the Mad Titan and Iron Man. Thanos lunges for her but is intercepted by Xavier, whom the purple titan throws to the ground and pins. “You’re finished, Avengers,” Thanos growls, gaze narrowing at Tony as he keeps the elderly man crushed beneath his fist. “Give me the stones or he dies.”
Tony hesitates, and Sarah whirls on her heel to face Thanos, using herself as a human shield between the Titan and the man in the suit. If Thanos wanted the stones he’d have to get through her. Xavier coughs up blood and wheezes out a response, one that Sarah knew all too well from her mother’s memories of that moment with Apocalypse. “You...will never....win.”
Thanos smirks down at the pinned telepath beneath him and Sarah senses her mother approaching, to which the younger Grey pushes her back. No. This was the future they needed. If Tony was to continue to live, and be a father to his little girl, she needed to let this play out. “And why is that?” Thanos whispers, having seen Tony’s hesitation and holding out his hand for the stones before Xavier telepathically forces the Titan’s hand down. “Because you are alone, and I am not.”
Sarah feels The Oracle stir within her, a hand moving to give Tony the worldwide signal to stand down as she stood tall before Thanos, eyes narrowing as the Titan saw that she was where Xavier was staring. “Little girls don’t scare me,” Thanos growled, but Sarah knew he was spooked. He’d been scared when Wanda came after him, he was scared when Carol kicked his ass, and he was scared now...because he didn’t know what she was capable of. It had been 4 years since The Oracle hid itself away. The remaining Avengers dispatching Thanos all those years ago allowed Sarah to return to the surface, despite the pain, and she hadn’t had a use for it until now. She’d been holding back. Now was the time. It was time to prove to herself, to Thanos and to the world, that she was indeed her mother’s daughter.
“Let....go...” She hears Xavier’s voice in her mind, always a calming influence in the almost 20 years she’d been in this universe. The grandfather she never had and the parent she needed these last 5 years after the loss of her own. He always told her never to give up, to always embrace her powers. She didn’t listen as much as her mother had. Too stubborn. She embraced them when it was convenient but not always when it was needed. And now, she knew it was time. It was time to unleash the full wrath of the former Phoenix. If she didn’t, they would lose another light in the universe, and despite her differences with Tony....she wasn’t about to let that happen. She needed to get over the fear of the Oracle taking her over just as the Phoenix did to her mother. It had promised her long ago it would never do that, and it has kept its word. Now was the time to fully trust it.
“Unleash your power, Sarah. No fear. Let go!”
She steps closer to the Titan, blue eyes blazing with fury as she feels her mother summon Iron Man via telekinesis away from the scene that would be unfolding, Wolverine and Shawn staying close to Spiderman and the other Avengers as she approached. Now there were four voices in her head. Xavier’s, her brother’s, her father’s....and even her mother’s. Jean knew this was something Sarah had to do. Sarah had to conquer the fear just as she did all those years ago.
“Let go, Sarah! SARAH LET GO!”
Arms raise and eyes glow a fiery blue, the woman releasing a SHRIEK as sapphire flames erupted from her body, wings extending as she was lifted in the air. The sky was set ablaze and the earth rumbled beneath their feet. Stark and Rescue immediately lunged to shield Spiderman, Black Panther tackling his sister and using himself as a human shield as the fire bird appeared around its host. Thanos’ army exploded in blue flames as the Titan himself stumbled back from the screaming woman, only to find he was soon frozen in place. A blink of an eye and The Oracle’s snatched his throat in her hands, his throat on fire in her grasp before she speaks. “Behold, Thanos: bringer of death, your destruction. LIFE INCARNATE!” she shrieks, the fire bird engulfing him in flames as he screamed, dissolving the Mad Titan into ash.
(Edit: Cut to Okoye, 2 seconds later: “WHERE WAS SHE WHEN THIS SHIT HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME?!”)
Eventually she calms down (whether it be by a S.O. coming to calm her, Peter running over to her, her family, verse dependent) but by killing Thanos her way instead of using the stones it saves Tony’s life. She also goes back with Steve to return the stones and catches Nat before she falls all the way and them returning the stone keeps the timeline in tact bc Sarah makes Clint and Red Skull both believe that Nat is dead but in reality she absconded with Nat back to the present.
Because everybody deserves to live and it’s up to Steve whether he goes back or not but she’s bringing Nat home. And we already established that Pietro didn’t die in AoU because Sarah was SMART ENOUGH TO PUT HIM IN THE CRADLE RIGHT AFTER because W.headon is a dumbass. Happily Ever After: The End.
#❂| the oracle [sarah jean grey]#my drabbles#more like a novel but whatever#❂| doesn't it feel like our time is running out? [sarah headcanons]#❂| v; put on your war paint [sarah mainverse]#nobody's ALLOWED to be dead okay? okay

Crossover and Fusion Prompts, pt. 2
· Hidan as Sailor Jashin, maybe in a Sailor Senshi of the Apocalypse kinda deal? If you want a pairing, Hidan/Asuma, Or Hidan/Kakuzu.
· Sakura/Unohana in the Bleach verse. If I remember the healers kinda always got the short end of the stick, and I just want to see Sakura kick ass in Soul Society.
· Hashirama & Neville geeking out about flowers (possibly with a 3rd party who starts freaking out when these two maniacs start fawning over a danerous/ilegal/whatever plant?)? Shippy or Gen, whichever you prefer.
· Sabo falls into the Naruto world maybe while Kakashi is experimenting with Kamui and is appalled at this world which is somehow even more fucked up than his own. He infects Kakashi with some of his anti-authoritarianism and they both proceed to fuck over Konoha and Danzo.
· Sailor moon/khr if that’s a thing?? You’re inter aged in?? Some good old magical girl Vongola tenth
· Dgm+ Naruto crossover? Orochimaru discovering akuma, maybe a fusion fic with Danzo and ROOT standing in as the Black Order? There's a lot of parallels between Sai and Shin, and Kanda and Alma, and oh my god, Sasuke as Allen. Horrifying yet hilarious
· Some Tsuna in the f*ked up afterlife of bleach mayhaps helping Ichigo rescue rukia please?
· Bleach/Naruto crossover, with Tobirama somehow (edo tensei maybe) ending up in soul society after his death and deciding to become a shinigami? Maybe starring Byakuya if you want? :D
· I’ve never seen a KHR&Saiyuki crossover before, so: Xanxus/Sanzo - Sanzo is once again reborn and is Xanxus’ soulmate (soulmate au were everyone has heterochromia, one eye is your natural colour the other is your soulmate’s natural colour. Once you meet all eyes return to natural colour) Completely up to you if the rest of the Saiyuki Gang is reborn and remember as well!
· Tobirama going to Hogwarts at the same time as Tom Riddle. He is wary of Tom and starts piecing the clues together, trying to stop what is happening. Maybe onesided Tom/Tobirama?
· This is a wild thought, but KHR/Avengers starring Arcobaleno (all or 1 or 2) AFTER the Invasion. The chaos these strange babies would bring to their lives gives me joy (and probably Reborn too)
· khr/bleach crossover, namimori is actually quite close to karakura. Each town has heard weird things about the other. Bleach cast goes on vacation in namimori and finds out some of those rumours are actually... true. Also, did that guy just set himself on fire and punch a Hollow to death?????? (Bonus points for mukuro and/or hibari being his usual trash self and showing up to ruin everything. I'm biased for my ship ok)
· A OPM and X-Men crossover please? Zombieman landing in the Marvel universe, literally falling into Wolverines lap who is enjoying a quite evening. They fall into bed together and upon discovering their similarities decide to stick together until Zombieman finds a way home. Over time, they fall in love with each other
· Crossover between khr/Naruto, due to an uh experimental failure, Mukuro ends up in Orochimaru's labs (preferably when Sasuke's still around??) murder and adoption ensues. Also, Mukuro's really liking these throwing knife things. The entire Tailed Beast situation+ being trapped in an entirely different dimension? A little less.
· Full Metal Alchemist/Katekyo Hitman Reborn crossover with Greed reincarnated into KHR
· A group of konoha shinobi (rookie nine + teachers + Genma maybe? IDK your choice all the way! Ships all up to you too!) gets hit with a jutsu, or trip over an old malfunctioning seal and suddenly have full recall of their last lives. Cue CONFUSION! Memories are overlaying each other and they still know who they are , but who they /were/ is overwhelming too. Do they know any of the others from before? Were they friends? Lovers? Enemies? I'm really interested in who you would choose for each character, and what they'd think of their 'new' lives, and what 'old' skills will be applicable to being ninja, not to mention what they think of being ninja now too? (Fandoms I know well and well-ish lols; KHR, Voltron, Bleach, Saiyuki, HP, Avengers, Mentalist, BtVS, Leverage, Avatar, Dragon Prince, Bones, Criminal Minds, Burn Notice, Star Wars, Red Hood and the Outlaws, FMA, Tamora Pierce, PJO, Assassin's Creed, Merlin)
· Sandry, Briar, Daja, and Tris end up in the Elemental Nations. They seem like civvies at first and then the tiny blond ties attackers up with their own clothes? The boy has MOKUTON? The redhead throws lightning? The dark lady yanked everyone's weapons out of their hands and melted them? Pairings completely up to you and your funky rarepair brain!
· Konan/Riza Hawkeye. Police officer/vigilante AU. "You're my enemy and I'm supposed to kill you but I'm a little bit in love with you."
· Naruto/Alanna : Sakura doesn't want to become just a healer, and ignores her magic to go to Corus and become the first female knight since Princess Tsunade herself.
· What about Katara/Rin Nohara? with background Toph/Anko? maybe a Kamui fuck up landed Rin, Kakashi, Obito and Anko in AtlA? I have no specific prompt expect that is has a big cup of silliness, cuteness, and a heap of general fluffyness [+ snark courtesy of the compined forced of Kakashi, Toph, Obito and Anko]
· I would love to see a Saiyuki/Naruto crossover where Sanzo and Shikamaru are just /done/. Literally done with everyone and their crazy crap.
· I would love a FMA and Naruto crossover with the Briggs main squad getting displaced into Konoha (there's more than one reason that they don't employ alchemists anymore). Briggs knows how to take care of shit. Tsunade/Olivier Armstrong? Buccaneer vs Danzou? Major Miles taking one look at their administration and promptly overhauling everything? Please?
· How about Katara/Rin where Rin is reborn in ATLA. Post war Rin is working as a healer and hears about one of the best healers in the world visiting, she decides to go compare notes but gets a bit distracted by a beautiful woman, not realizing that they're one and the same.
· Naruto/Avengers: Naruto as Cap (the KYUUBI treatment?), Sasuke as Bucky (living in enemy lands for so long it changes him??), Kakashi as Coulson (deadpan humor, one-eyed friendo who used to be more compassionate???), Obito as Fury, Madara as Pierce. Sakura as Sam (medic, underestimated, wings as a metaphor for freedom), Kiba as Hawkeye (a lil dumb but good-hearted, loves dogs). If you watch AoS you could sneak in Tobirama as Melinda May.
· The Midnighter/Agni? Midnighter stumbling into Agni after kicking some ass. Seeing how bloodied (and hungry) he is, Agni invites him into his home (because he has zero self-protection instincts) to treat his wounds and feed his grumbling stomach. The food and company are so good that there are multiple repeats. On the third one sparks fly.
· KHR/FMA Brotherhood crossover, Flame bonding and social dynamics in the FMA world. Ed, Al, and Winry do a LOT of flouting of social convention anyway, why not flout all the conventions for Flame Actives??? Lots of good good family of choice fluff/angst
· How about ATLAxBleach? Because Zuko could use an older brother, imo, and who's one of the best big brothers to have?
· YYHxSaiyuki. Kanzeon trolling the shit out of Koenma over the glorious, glorious chaos Sanzo and entourage have left behind.
· Reverse Kurama ending up in Bleach and adopting the shit out of an Ichigo who has just lost his powers?
· Naruto/Portgas D Ace Soulmark crossover, where Kaguya's final revenge as she was sealed was trapping them in another dimension. I'm thinking one where Ace has a timer and Naruto has Ace's name. Naruto sees Ace's name on his execution announcement and proceeds to book it, sneak in and save him because the Marines were not prepared for Ninja, particularly not one as creative as Naruto.
· Khr/one piece crossover where Tsuna wakes up in the one piece world and ends up meeting the whitebeard crew because hes utterly incapable of staying away from crazy people?
· Would you do a crossover between D. Gray Man and Reborn? Where Natsu is the form Tsuna's innocence takes, and maybe he meets Allen and trains with him?
· A Self-Indulgent KisuRen, landing in Konoha and fucking Madara’s plan without really meaning to? Like, Urahara being unsufferable because he’s just curious, and Renji just going with it because Kisuke’s plans tend to work.. and they somehow end up adopting Naruto *shrugs* meanwhile, resident Hokage gets a heart attack. Could be smutty, or crack or whatever you want!
· HP-Naruto: Hashirama/Harry, Hashirama reborn as a wizard, but slowly remembers his past shinobi life. Attending Hogwarts and being known as that one kid who relentlessly stands up to Snape, practically lives in Forbidden Forest, super magical with plants-charms-transfiguration and can get along with practically anyone. Who also becomes Hogwarts's Champion in GoF
· Naruto/HP crossover, with the ship Salazar Slytherin/Kakashi :3c Maybe some Kamui mess up has Kakashi showing up around about the founding of Hogwarts? Or Salazar leaves Hogwarts and ends up in Konoha somehow?
· Kel/Daja in a Sentinel AU?
· How about a xmen/naruto crossover with Gambit/madara or gambit/anybody that strikes your fancy. Gambit lands face first in the naruto world and his charging ability plus his uh looks have him being aggressively proposed at due to his very powerful "kekkai genkai" hilarity and or drama ensues
· KHR/Naruto crossover but like set in SPACE because there's never enough space. Anyway Dino, captain of a spaceship, meets Obito, an absolute mess, who may or may not be a smuggler but mainly wants them to take him to the other side of the galaxy. Without being caught. No of course he's not wanted on 32 planets ha ha what are you talking about
· Dorian Pavus and Tony Stark meeting for the first time after an ugly goodbye (your choice whether it was a break-up or they were just friends), trying to be nice to each, but only being comfortable after breaking out the snark.
· Harry Potter (epilogue, what epilogue) and anko brotp because sometimes the forbidden forest and area 44 are the same thing
· Where Maglor kick the ass of Kawahira because no one touches his husband and especially not a pseudo maia! (Maglor/Skull)
· How about Byakuya/Iruka for the crossover prompt? In the sense that Byakuya has a pattern of surrounding himself with kind yet loud people, and then there’s that level of mischief that Yoruichi and Iruka fulfill. So there’s reports of a prankster in Soul Society, and Byakuya winds up both smitten and infuriated when he thinks he catches Iruka, only for Iruka to do something to catch him off guard and get away each time. The other shinigami find it hilarious.
· Fëanor knows that the valars are petties, specially Mandos. So, he shouldn’t be surprised to wake up in the body of a baby after having cheat during the game of poker the night before with Mandos, yet, he is… or the one where Fëanor found himself reincarnated as Harry Potter.
· A Balrog slayer and his husband return to Arda for some vacation. Let's just say they won't come back any soon… or Glorfindel and Ecthelion go spend some time alone in the Naruto-verse and witness a lot of weird things.
· Truth takes some vacation and let Eru in charge of the gate. First customer? A pair of brothers who want their mom back.
· the disastrous first meeting bw dc's red outlaws (kori, roy, jay) and marvel's red team (spidey, deadpool, daredevil) with lots of jokes abt death, dismemberment, and disabilities! or just them generally being lovely dumbasses! not necessasrily as many alliterations tho.
· Batman x Naruto crossover, because the thought of anaruto as a Robin is killing me.
· How about a Saiyuki/Naruto crossover? Like maybe Sanzo and the rest get reincarnated or something. Maybe Goku is still himself somehow or whatever, somehow related to the Monkey Summons or something along those lines. I really just want to see the guys totally ruining Danzo/Zetsu plans left and right.
· Harry Potter is Kurama reborn, the hidden power Voldemort knows not is a little voice in the back of his head going “believe it’”
· How about a Leverage/Full Metal Alchemist crossover, where the Leverage crew has always been in Amestris. They meet Roy and help him steal the military?
· A naruto/bleach crossover where when team taka tries to reanimate the hokage they also take one of the other masks in the Uzumaki temple, and it summons some random shinigami. Everyone involved is like “wow who’s this asshole” and they try to demand assistance in the fourth Shinobi war
· Kurama/Stark werewolf!Stark accidentally marries forest god!Kurama after stumbling upon him one night (new moon or a waxing moon) and unknowingly completes some obscure ritual that binds them together. Hijinks ensue, with Stark's pack and Kurama's court trying to blend together into one cohesive group (it doesn't, explosions erupt all the time)
· A Bleach and Naruto crossover-Ichigo is thrown into Konoha and is just-shocked. APPALLED. That all these little kids are fighting to the death. And starts adopting them whole-sale

Back to the MCU Part 2: The X-men
I’m absolutely looking forward to Dark Phoenix and New Mutants—I’ve loved or really liked all of the X-men movies except two and I’m sad to see the franchise end—but I’m also looking forward to the X-men joining the MCU. I was skeptical of the fan insistence that Spider-man would be inherently better just because Homecoming was part of the MCU and I was proven wrong, but I’m still not sure that the X-men going home will be a magical improvement. The Fox-films aren’t perfect, but they’re not the worthless dreck a lot of people make them out to be either and it’ll be a shame to lose all the good things about them (unfortunately along with The Gifted in all likelihood). Still, this is what’s happening and I’ll always be excited for new X-men adventures: they’re my favorite comics and I love seeing them brought to life! In a perfect world, we’d get a new X-men TV series (heck, both a live-action one and a new animated series) because there are just too many characters to explore over a trilogy or two of movies, but for these purposes, I’m going to assume they’ll only be doing X-films.
Full spoilers for the Fox-verse and MCU up to this point....
X-men Origins How should mutants appear in the MCU? This is super-simple: they just do.
There’s always been a handful around, like Xavier, Magneto (their ages and Erik’s Holocaust experience can be explained by saying they knew a mutant who could rejuvenate others), Apocalypse, Shadow King, etc., but mutants are just now starting to appear en masse. They’re a new and mysterious global phenomenon. Importantly, they’re a natural evolution and the most “cause” that should ever be given is the real-life explanation for evolutionary mutation: a reaction a hostile environment. Sure, you could say Thanos’ Snap created that type of environmental condition, but no one should be responsible for making mutation happen. This is something I strongly believe has to hold true: mutants can’t be created in a lab somewhere or Snapped back into existence “wrong” or have their X-genes turned on by Scarlet Witch or something. If anything like that happens, mutants automatically lose their “we’re natural, normal, and we’re supposed to be here” argument. It’s why the Inhumans aren’t really a great substitute for the mutants-as-minorities metaphor: even though the present-day Inhumans were born that way, they can still be traced back to experiments the Kree conducted on humans. Mutants, however, are completely normal and exactly what they’re supposed to be. Also, it’s that lack of an “explanation” that scares normal people and separates mutants from the other superheroes in the MCU. Bigots can write off a radioactive spider bite or a gamma accident as powers that happened to “those poor people,” but the X-men showing up and saying “this is who we are naturally, our powers come from the core of our being, and we’re the future?” That scares them and brings out the hate. That last point is just as much a source of fear as the others: just look at how white supremacists in real life scream about “being replaced” by Jewish people, Muslims, immigrants, etc.
I’ve been asked on Twitter how the common MCU people would be able to tell that the X-men are any different from the Avengers (Thor vs. Storm was the example I was given), and the answer’s in the characters. Storm and the rest of the team would absolutely self-identify as mutants, feeling they shouldn’t have to pass as aliens/accidents for an easier life (in addition to their stated goal of proving that mutants can be trusted). With that pride and the insistence that mutants are the future, bigoted reactions would mimic LGBTQIA hate: "Why should we cater to a minority? They should be committed/cured, not supported, coddled, and allowed to continue living in their delusions,” etc. People's kids being mysteriously powered is also a much scarier concept than an alien the public barely interacts with (Ragnarok having civilians know about Thor and Jane’s relationship status still rings false to me, unless Darcy’s been blogging). Thor's an external anomaly to the everyday MCU citizen and while the Avengers might accidentally wreck your town, mutants could be in your family and are an intimate threat to The Way Things Are.
I’ve also been asked how you square Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver with Magneto if the X-men just appear now rather than being rebooted into the history of the MCU, and that’s simple too. They aren’t his kids anymore in the comics, so you might not even need to explore that connection in the movies. If they do want to, he could be a secret parent they didn’t know about. They still don’t have to be mutants since their origin is tied to Loki’s scepter. Either way, Wanda’s continued presence in the MCU is not a continuity deal-breaker.
First Class While the idea I’ve seen tossed around of the team suddenly snapping into view after Xavier has been psychically hiding them from the world for years would be a cool reveal, I don’t think they’ll want to burn all the A-list X-men by introducing them as adults. IMO, the X-men are going to be the backbone of multiple future MCU phases since the big-name Avengers are winding done, so they’re going to want to cast X-teens who can grow with the MCU. They’ll also want to start at the beginning and (hopefully) really dig into the team finding its groove, learning as they go. I’ve enjoyed the Fox prequel trilogy immensely so far, but jumping 10 years between each film takes the wind out of proper development arcs. Showing the team’s learning curve as superheroes would also set them apart from the Avengers, who have personality conflicts but essentially came to the team as polished heroes.
Fox’s prequel X-team is a pretty perfect lineup in terms of characters, so I wouldn’t change the core roster much (though I do expect everyone to be recast). We’d meet the X-men as they’re recruited, allowing the film to both touch on the world mutants are living in and to show who these kids were outside the mansion. That’ll not only show the healing effect of having other kids like them in their orbit, but will also emphasize how important the school is as a safe haven (and found family) from the rest of the world. One area where Fox’s films have fallen short (and The Gifted has excelled) is showing what the common people’s reaction to mutants is, rather than just sticking with the military’s thoughts, and I hope the MCU follows that show’s lead.
While every teenager (and even every adult) can relate to the X-men’s outsider status, mutants are also (and most importantly) supposed to represent the oppressed in our society and the next cast should reflect that. So, I’d do a lot of race and sexual orientation switches. For example, Cyclops should be Native Alaskan. Hes closely tied to that region in the comics, Summers isn’t the real family name (it was chosen by an immigrant ancestor in the comics and here could be an example of his family trying to assimilate), and the pressure to be a “model minority” would mesh perfectly with Scott’s constant drive to be a straight-laced boy scout who thinks he’d be useless if he failed. I’d let the comics’ subtext about Storm being bi or pansexual be text here. I’d also stick closer to her having been a “goddess” as well as a thief; she should be the one mutant in history that ruled humans without fear or violence so she can be a voice of reason and experience on the team. Nightcrawler could be updated into a swashbuckling street performer who’s a little internet-famous (part of a growing mutant youth subculture) in addition to his religious struggles. He could also be a positive role model in how he embraces and celebrates his physical differences (like he did on X-men Evolution), no matter who calls him a demon. Kurt could be any race as long as he’s from Germany, though I kinda like the idea of one of the few white guys being blue the whole time. Rouge would definitely start out as a villain if I were writing it. She doesn’t necessarily need to be white and making her an African-American teen from Mississippi could grant her a whole new perspective on the mutants-as-minorities idea: her loss of memories and self could reflect the black American experience of not knowing where your ancestors came from or what their culture was. I also think her reaction to meeting a literal queen who’s also a black woman would be pretty great; Storm could be a role model for her once she starts to reform (and maybe punk Storm could come from interacting with Rogue’s more fun-loving persona). Those new aspects could potentially bolster the outsider feeling she’ll already have thanks to her powers acting like a disease that forbids her from making unencumbered contact with others, so she could be relatable on several fronts.
New Mutants Scott, Ororo, Kurt, and Rogue would be my core team throughout all the films, but there’d be room for others as well. Jean’s another favorite of mine and it’d be cool to see her without the Phoenix as a predetermined end-point in mind for a while. I’ve seen it pointed out on Twitter that one of her biggest assets is her empathy, so let her use that to promote human/mutant understanding and use her comic origin story to drive her towards not letting anyone die. Gambit would be a lot of fun (and, in keeping with making things more diverse, the movies could go through with an intended comic development that he’d be bi), but I would definitely not adapt his charm power: there’s just too much room for that to get rapey to even try including it (plus, he shouldn’t need a power to be charming). Being a roguish thief with a heart of gold would play well against both the X-men and the gruff Wolverine when he’s introduced. Jubilee is more than deserving of a larger, more active role after being a glorified cameo so many times; maybe she eventually becomes the PR face of the school? Iceman’s always been another favorite of mine and his deep-seated denial of his homosexuality would bring another realistic touch to the team. Polaris, X-23, Honey Badger, Eclipse, Quicksilver (who I guess is dead, though; it’s a shame we have to leave the superior cinematic one behind in the Fox-verse), Domino, Bishop, Beast, Firestar, Psylocke, Shadowcat, etc. …the list of great characters in this franchise goes on and on and they’d all be welcome; this is why there needs to be a show, not just films!
Logan, the Wolverine We should get to Wolverine at some point—he’s another one of my favorites and there’s no denying he’s the most popular mutant—and I’d play up the parallels between him and Scott rather than focus on the love triangle with Jean. But first, I want them to hold off on Logan and maybe not even introduce him until something like the third movie. Let the rest of the team breathe and become an ensemble before reintroducing a new Wolverine, who’ll instantly be saddled with comparisons to arguably the most iconic version of the character: Hugh Jackman’s. They’d spend most of their time justifying the new Logan and I worry that the rest of the characters would be sidelined again. Instead, let’s see all of them get the chance to be as fleshed-out and celebrated as Logan is, then add him in and watch as the franchise gets even bigger from there. Maybe a way around Logan stealing the X-spotlight is to do something unorthodox (yet with enough comic precedence to appease the fans) and introduce him in an Avengers movie first. Maybe the Avengers could take the place of Alpha Flight in the MCU (or maybe they’d do something totally unexpected and just make an Alpha Flight movie). Personally I’d like to see a Logan who was absolutely horrible in his past—an animal occasionally pointed in the right direction—who then had the mind-wipe truly make him a better person who’s out to atone for a life he doesn’t remember. I think that would be compelling and would make the mind-wipe matter. Edit: I thought it might work to make Logan a POC to reflect real-life atrocities and experimentation carried out against minorities, but “violent rage machine who becomes a hero after (probably white) scientists torture him and erase his identity” would be a terrible message since you could say it argues they improved him. If he were innocent before Weapon X it would be different (and possibly a comment on the damage white people have inflicted on just about everyone else); I guess it depends on what they want Logan's story to be and what effect Weapon X has on him (and there should be an effect, not that X-men Origins nonsense where he's essentially the same person on both sides of it). If he's an angry white guy who's improved by forgetting who he was/the society that made him that way, that could be an interesting comment on the white male rage we see so much of today too.
Dark Phoenix, Apocalypse (and other X-threats) I definitely don’t want to see Magneto right away (though he’s the best villain in fiction). On film, we need a break from him (though if they wanted to make him Xavier’s co-leader of the X-men for an extended period, I’d be interested). I genuinely liked Mystique’s character development into just that position in the prequel films, but when she returns in the MCU it should be as a villain first (and certainly as Kurt’s mom—or why not his dad, as originally planned?—and Rogue’s adoptive mother). Stryker, the Sentinels, and the Phoenix Saga should all be held off until far down the road as well.
I wish I could remember who on Twitter suggested it, but I love the idea of using conversion therapy as the basis for an X-men villain, so that’s how I’d open the series (let’s call these films The Uncanny X-men, for argument’s sake). Use Mesmero as one of two main villains, mind-controlling mutants into thinking that they don’t have powers to the point where they subconsciously shut down their access to them (like Iceman did to himself after House of M). Do this through Legion-esque twisty, mind-bending psychic sequences (so we can see each character’s inner fears and character traits), but mixed with real-world conversion therapy horrors. Once Mesmero’s phase is completed, the “cured” mutants are thrown into an elaborate deathtrap/maze to make sure they can’t access their powers anymore…this would be a Murderworld designed by an updated Arcade! That would provide the bombastic third act after the Mesmero stuff gives us some great character work. Xavier sends the team in to investigate this process (maybe it’s set on Genosha) and they meet Rogue there, who’s also undercover but for Mystique, out to kill everyone involved whereas the X-men want to expose the torture and shut it down peacefully to be a good example. You could start to argue whether the X-men being upstanding superheroes allows them to go far enough with a third party like Rogue/the Brotherhood.
My second movie would feature Mr. Sinister and his attempts to keep up with mutants by experimenting on himself to give himself powers. I’d make it a cultural appropriation metaphor, by having Sinister create agents for the government (the Freedom Force seems like an appropriate right-wing name and it looks like they might be needed to step in where the Avengers leave off after Endgame) who are heroes and celebrated by the public, whereas the X-men are still hated. The X-men would of course resent the popular “mutates” taking what made them special and being celebrated for it while they’re still hated. If the first movie is about the X-men fighting to prove they should be here, the second would be about mutants establishing their own culture (and the burgeoning mutant subculture would absolutely be a part of this). It’d also be about humans artificially clinging to relevance and fearing losing their status in society (extremely relevant to a huge problem with white society in America today), while larger sci-fi themes about moving toward the future of humanity via evolution are explored through Sinister. Sinister’s base would absolutely be in the Savage Land so we could see X-men vs. dinosaurs: in addition to just being fun and cool (and big business, if the Jurassic World movies are any indication), dinosaurs would metaphorically represent the human race. They’d be a constant reminder of the extinction and irrelevance Sinister is trying to outthink. Perhaps Sauron could be a minor villain in that setting. Since I wouldn’t want to do Phoenix yet, a Madelyne Prior story might be better for this new era (maybe she’s one of Sinister’s Freedom Force mutates). If they don’t want to do the Captain Marvel/Rogue animosity—and I’m not sure I want to see Carol lose her memories and herself again, though you could create a bond between the two of them over Carol being manipulated by the Kree and Rogue by Mystique (maybe that’s how they’d finally resolve their hatred?)—another of Sinister’s mutates being called Warbird and having flight/super-strength would be a fine substitute for Rogue to get her iconic powers and send her to the X-men for help.
As we get into Uncanny 3, I’d do Onslaught, but a more streamlined version that doesn’t involve the Heroes Reborn thing. I’d rather it be confined to the X-men, but since we’re in the MCU now it’d be a good opportunity for the teams to team up. My Onslaught wouldn’t be a Magneto/Xavier mind-meld, but a Xavier who finally lost hope in his dream and decided to force humans to accept mutants. I think Xavier screwing with the team, implanting false memories to manipulate them, sow discord, etc. would be a lot of fun…and a chance to have Rogue be the big damn hero because of her mental training to suss out her actual personality (in these films I’d dedicate time to the team actively helping her try to control her abilities and rediscover herself). A psychic threat would also be a nice bookend to the team’s first film and a response to “how impactful can the X-men be as true-blue heroes?,” while defeating Xavier would be a natural end to this chapter as the team goes on to new adventures under Scott and Ororo’s leadership.
Once we’ve explored new threats, I’m fully open to digging into Magneto, Apocalypse (hopefully maintaining his “I’m trying to save you all by forcing conflict to evolve you” delusion), Stryker, the Sentinels, Mystique, Shadow King, Juggernaut, Sabretooth, Omega Red (who hasn’t been used yet), etc. again. Whatever they do, I hope the MCU goes big and explores all facets of the X-universe, like Genosha, Asteroid M, the Morlocks, the Brood, Madripoor, Mojo, etc. The X-world is a rich one unto itself, so Disney should let it shine and really flesh out the MCU beyond the real-world boundaries they’ve lived in so far and are only just now starting to venture from (at least on Earth). When we do get to Phoenix again, I hope it’ll be a natural evolution and Jean’s quest to make the world better so no one has to die again, not a cosmic space bird trying on feelings or a secret evil split personality (as an early X3 idea pitched, my Jean would evolve into the comics’ cosmic force).
United I absolutely don’t want some sort of Avengers vs. X-men thing. Who wants the Avengers turned into the militant arm of a bigoted government or something? No matter how you slice it, the X-men represent minorities/PoC/the oppressed, so making the Avengers fight them just seems wrong and automatically tips them toward being agents of oppression. If you lean too far into “mutant powers really are dangerous” to justify the Avengers fighting them, the X-men lose their social relevance. At “best,” you’ll have the Avengers making an argument along the lines of “protests that cause property damage are just as bad as the racists/social inequality they’re protesting,” which is not a good look for anyone. Plus, I’m just sick of heroes fighting heroes.
I wouldn’t do House of M or X-men vs. Inhumans either: extinction events not perpetrated by bigots trying to pull off genocide undercut the metaphor of mutancy. The X-men represent oppressed minorities, not snow leopards.
Deadpool: The Last Stand While it would be absolutely crazy if Dark Phoenix ended with Jean re-creating the Fox-Earth into the MCU or something, I don’t think the Fox-verse will get that kind of send-off. Aside from Dark Phoenix, New Mutants (which looks very spooky-cool but who knows if it will be released in theaters or on Hulu), and The Gifted (which will almost certainly be cancelled, sadly) the big dangling thread of the Fox-verse is the still-popular Deadpool. Legion will be ending after Season 3 and I think it’s safe to say Gambit, Shadowcat, Multiple Man, etc. are dead at this point, and that’s probably for the best if Disney wants to create a unified vision and start fresh.
However, a Deadpool 3 (or X-Force) film should definitely still happen, and I have an idea to help the characters (and actors) we love from those movies make the jump to the MCU intact. I think DP3/X-Force should be an adventure on Mojoworld! Deadpool’s probably the only live-action property that would be willing to go all-in on Mojo, so they should be the one to take the dive (especially now that Shatterstar’s mentioned it exists). Everyone gets abducted and the writers can go extremely meta with it. They could structure it similarly to the first Mojo episode of the 90s X-men cartoon, but with jokes about Hollywood’s obsession with sequels, reboots, and the franchise wars (as well as society’s relationship with the media). They could also joke about fan fears about Disney making them PG-13 (though I think those fears are unfounded), via some Good Place-esque censorship. Mojo’s televised world could also allow for cameos galore from the Fox-films, including the much-desired Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds team-up. This isn’t how I’d prefer to see those actors together for the last time, but since it seems like the only option I’d take it. And at the end of this Mojoverse adventure? The Fox-verse is “cancelled,” leaving Wade and friends to be dumped into the MCU. You could cherry-pick the Fox timeline for favorites to save here: Wade, Domino, Negasonic, Colossus, Blind Al, Vanessa, Cable, Dopinder, both Yukios, and Laura/X-23 would all be welcome IMO (alternatively, I’ll take people like Zazie Beetz and Dafne Keen getting cast as Domino and Laura again in the MCU, just with new origins). If there’s a way to get The Gifted characters—especially Polaris and Eclipse—to the MCU too (if Blink’s season 2-ending portal doesn’t do it and make that group the MCU’s Exiles; seeing them come from a hardened anti-mutant world into an MCU where mutants are just starting to pop up in large numbers would be a really cool switch for them), I’m all for that as well. You could even give X-Force’s appearance in the MCU some narrative impact by forcing Xavier to accelerate his plan for the X-men to go public to counteract Deadpool’s team in the public eye, since Wade is not the guy you want at the center of the mutant rights effort.
Days of Future Past I realize most of this won’t happen (especially my ideas for the movies, but hey Disney, if you want some X-novels give me a call), but it’s a vision of the X-Franchise’s future I’d like to see. The big things are that mutants should just appear naturally, Disney should be open to casting and writing the characters more diversely than they’ve been in the comics (a consideration I’d extend to the franchise’s creators behind the scenes and soundtrack as well, though the main theme should absolutely be the 90s Animated Series theme!), and the MCU should take the time to dig into every aspect of the franchise rather than immediately hitting beats Fox has already covered. There are a lot of socially-relevant angles to tackle the X-men world with, and I want to see them all explored. The Disney/Fox deal is officially finalized on March 20, so we’ll soon see how the X-men will fit in.
Whatever happens, I’m excited to see Dark Phoenix and I can’t wait to see more X-adventures in the MCU!
What do you think? What do you want to see from the X-men in the MCU?

* / VERONICA VERSES ( kinda )
some extrapolations off her base bio to help get a sense where she fits in various contexts. all of these are open to tweaking and reworking, they're just a bases to start from.
616
Likely conceived some time between his break up with Gabrielle and meeting Amelia ( tho this is totally up for discussion ) she’s one of the few mutants who survived M-Day with their abilities intact but most likely did not join them on Utopia unless someone did a great job convincing her or people are already aware of her past crimes and is being dealt with semi-positively/neutrally. She avoids joining the X-Men but does consider herself on the list of auxiliary telepaths and will come over whenever asked to help. She goes to school at NYU and generally lives exactly how you’d expect a pretentious upper middle class white bitch majoring in something like Cinema Studies to live. Charles’s death hit her extremely hard, she constantly struggles with wanting to know him and her own fears about his possible response to her past actions and losing him meant she would never get to rectify that. Then during the M-Pox outbreak she fell ill and was hospitalized on and off for a few months. Her overall interest with being involved with X-Men and mutant affairs has rapidly increased over the years though she continues to consider herself separate from the X-Men.
XMCU
Most likely conceived while while Charles was still a mad lad during a brief fling or one nighter, things then follow the her bio until we get to about XMA. With the school all officially up and running and Cerebro tracking down potential students and such Veronica and Charles have likely at least made the first awkward brush of contact ( this ofc varies with say, when a thread is specifically set ) and she is actively avoiding him and the school for fear of him or one of the other telepaths there discovering her grim secrets. However she’s still fairly close by going to Columbia or Princeton and questioning her life choices. When things like Apocalypse well.... being Apocalypse occur she always seems to come out of the wood work for at least the 5 minutes it takes to be moderately useful before scampering off again. Depending on how interactions and such go, it’s very likely she would side with Magneto with two of the main reasons being she’s too ashamed of her past actions to stay with her father/scared of how that shit’ll got over with him and the x-men, and Mags does tend to be a bit more forgiving on the that front and he does have a point too....
LEGION
Since it’s not exactly clear what’s going on with Charles’s end of things I’m refraining from saying they’ve made any contact yet until there’s a better sense of where he falls in all this. As it stands now, she has been approached by Summerland at least once but politely declined and has mindwiped any/all people from Division 3 that have tried to contact/come after her. It would also not be shocking if she has come across Oliver or his iceberg since she does spend a lot of time in the Astral. Around the rough middle to end of Season 1 she likely begrudgingly shuffles in since David’s just A Lot and it’s not obvious if they have a telepath around who’s not..... in cryostasis... While she’s aware that Charles is her father she’s not aware that David is her brother and if/when that’s figured out is up for discussion. When Summerland and Division 3 merge she begrudgingly stays on and works primarily on the clicking disease, looking for David and occasionally the hunt for Farouk when they actually manage to strong arm her into it. She spends a lot of her time in general camped out on David trying to wrangle him and be like, his common sense buddy. Come the end of Season 2 she’s pretty #Done with Div 3 and their terrible choices on how to handle David being really clearly unwell and opts to go with him to try and help him stay chill.

mcu / x-men au details
NB: since disney owns fox, this au can work in either the marvel cinematic universe, or the now-defunct x-men universe; after all, it’s not like mutants don’t exist in the mcu... they could easily be hiding :P
base stats— height: 6’1” age: 24 ( as of 2018; mcu era ) | 25 ( as of 1992; xmcu era ) nationality: hungarian codename / alias: aquila ( latin for “eagle” ) spoken languages: english, hungarian current location: unknown, earth occupation: underground fighter
born in hungary, earth, in the fictional city of new alexandria, artemis katona grew up thinking that she was entirely normal. just like everyone else she went to school with. but her world shifted and changed forever, when, at just 15 years old, she was kidnapped by an underground scientific organization known only as “cold moon”.
the trauma and torment she endured while in their clutches for the following seven months, transformed her, in more ways than one.
her latent x-gene was activated.
having achieved their goal, cold moon cast the now-mutated artemis out onto the streets, so many miles from home. they left her with naught but the clothes on her back, and the lessons they’d rammed home into her brain. she was to never see her parents again.
her mutant abilities are oddly similar to her enhanced human body in her spartan timelines: roughly above olympic-level speed, strength, endurance; enhanced senses, reflexes, reaction times, and durability. however, they’re not quite to the same levels as her spartan verse; i would say she’s more on par with captain america and the like, or at least, able to keep up with them.
as well, she has an enhanced metabolism, and unlike in her spartan timeline, it does give her marginally accelerated healing ( again, think around the levels that captain america possesses ).
aside from the above, she also grew an oddly small set of wings, coming out of her shoulder blades ( much like warren worthington’s ). instead of allowing them to grow out to their full size over time, however, cold moon ripped them from her in an act of cruelty, and replaced them with artificial implants, which are connected within her body to where her wings normally grow ( think like what apocalypse did to give warren metal wings, only worse, and not only on the outside of the body ). these new wings are made of a mixture of carbon fibre, and an adamantium-titanium alloy, rendering them slightly heavy, and leaving artemis in near-constant pain as she adjusts to the intrusions.
her wing span all told is fourteen feet from wingtip to wingtip, with the wings being coloured a pale blueish grey, and shaped to mimic the wings of a peregrine falcon.

Oscar Isaac’s Mom Died. Now He’s Working Out His Grief in ‘Hamlet.’
Oscar Isaac spent most of the fall and winter at a hospital in Florida, caring for his dying mother, Eugenia. As her condition deteriorated, he found himself reading aloud to her from “Hamlet.”
“I would just read the play all the time, do bits for her,” Mr. Isaac said.
An Elizabethan revenge tragedy with a substantial body count and heavy existential dread isn’t obvious bedside comfort. But Mr. Isaac, his mother and his sister were all Shakespeare obsessives. When he was growing up, they watched Franco Zeffirelli’s “Romeo and Juliet” over and over. “Me doing Shakespeare was her favorite thing,” Mr. Isaac said.
So reciting “Hamlet” to her at the hospital felt like the right thing. Sometimes it felt like the only thing. “I didn’t know how to process any of this, but this I knew how to do,” he said.
As her health declined, Shakespearean questions that had seemed abstract — What drives the dissolution of a family? How do you overcome crippling loss? — felt immediate and real, he said.
“I know it happens to everybody, but it’d never happened to me,” he said. “I know people’s mothers have died, but this was mine.”
Mr. Isaac’s mother died in February, but “Hamlet” is still with him. For most of this heat-struck summer, he is performing as the tortured prince grieving the death of his father, six times a week for nearly four hours a throw at the Public Theater.
Mr. Isaac certainly has other ways to spend his days. For one, his first child, a son, was born in April. And his film career is booming. In a few short years, he’s graduated from indie artisan, with films like “Inside Llewyn Davis,” to bona fide star with roles in “X-Men: Apocalypse” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” He can probably take whatever theater job he wants to or not take any theater job at all.
That said, “Hamlet” is a play that exerts a strange pull on a lot of movie and television stars (Benedict Cumberbatch, David Tennant, Jude Law, Ethan Hawke), and it’s a role just about any classically trained actor and plenty of actresses have dreamed of playing.
But it’s also a tragedy that asks Mr. Isaac to relive the anguished death of a parent at every performance. In Sam Gold’s rowdy, deconstructionist staging, every time Mr. Isaac mud-wrestles, or lofts a prop skull or performs a mad scene in just a T-shirt and briefs, he seems to be working through his own loss, transforming raw private grief into riveting public performance.
“It’s for my mom that I’m doing it,” he said. “It’s to honor her life, but also her death, which was so awful.”
ON A RECENT WEEKDAY, an hour before rehearsal, Mr. Isaac hunched in a booth at the back of the Library, the Public’s restaurant. Looking slighter in person than onscreen, he was sitting underneath a skull-bedizened poster for an earlier production of “Hamlet.” His black warm-up jacket was a modish update of Hamlet’s “inky cloak.” It wouldn’t have been a huge surprise if he had drawn a sword from underneath the table or spotted a ghost over by the bar.
This symbolic brazenness seemed like a joke; Mr. Isaac was probably in on it. He has a roguish sense of mischief that underlies even his more serious roles (“Ex Machina,” “A Most Violent Year”). And he’s one of the few actors of his generation who can combine the unrestrained volatility of a Method actor with pedigreed classical chops.
His Hamlet is antic, mercurial, unpredictable, but each line of verse comes across clearly, almost conversationally. As Oskar Eustis, the artistic director of the Public Theater — who helped cast a Juilliard-fresh Mr. Isaac in “Two Gentlemen of Verona” in 2005 and “Romeo and Juliet” two years later — said, “That combination, particularly in such a handsome man, it’s amazing.”
It’s that charisma that helped the “Star Wars” director J. J. Abrams decide not to kill off his character, Poe Dameron, who will reappear in the coming “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” “The idea of Oscar Isaac as Poe coming back into the movie and being an ally to the cause got my blood pumping,” Mr. Abrams wrote in an email.
MR. ISAAC LOVED THEATER early. Born in Guatemala and raised by evangelical Christian parents in Miami, he had his first roles in religious plays. Even then, he played antiheroes. His first lead? The Devil. He devised an entrance from underneath the bleachers, scaring an adored teacher and exciting the interest of the popular girl he had a crush on.
“For that little moment, I thought, this is what I want to do,” he said.
Eventually he fell away from the church, and though his parents supported his acting ambitions, for a while he stopped that, too. He turned to music, migrating from soft rock to grunge rock to heavy metal, before landing in third-wave ska groups like the Worms and Blinking Underdogs, which attracted a local following.
Still, he never really shook theater. He studied it at community college and apprenticed at Area Stage Company in Miami. The artistic director got him reading Shakespeare again. “I didn’t really understand it,” Mr. Isaac said, “but I liked it a lot.”
He even developed an infatuation with the film soundtrack to the Zeffirelli “Hamlet.” On an impulse, he auditioned for Juilliard, using a monologue from Shakespeare’s “Henry IV” and arguing about its interpretation with the head of the drama division in the middle of his callback.
Richard Feldman, one of Mr. Isaac’s Juilliard teachers, remembered sensing in him “the best kind of artistic ambition,” adding: “I’m not talking about fame, I’m not talking about fortune. I’m talking about the hunger to be really good.”
At Juilliard, he met Mr. Gold, at the time a directing student. Mr. Gold was immediately struck by Mr. Isaac’s “easy energy and an easy relationship to his talent and having an incredible amount of talent” and a shared belief that “acting shouldn’t look hard,” Mr. Gold said.
The two of them fooled around with some comic scenes from “Hamlet,” making a pact to work together one day on the whole play. They both got “bit by it and obsessed by it,” Mr. Gold said, speaking by phone. Those talks continued, and two years ago, Mr. Isaac signed on, saying he felt he had to do it “before the knees give out.”
“You can only be so old and be upset that your mom remarried,” he said.
Once he’d agreed, Mr. Isaac began reading academic books, watching famous past performances, playing a recording of John Gielgud’s Hamlet “and just listening to the beauty of that man’s voice,” he said. After creative tensions with the production’s original home, Theater for a New Audience, “Hamlet” shifted to the Public Theater, where Mr. Isaac had made his post-Juilliard debut, and dates were set.
But then his mother got sick and his partner, the documentary filmmaker Elvira Lind, got pregnant, and suddenly “there were a lot of things that really connected on a very personal level,” he said. As Mr. Isaac explained, performing has always helped him come to terms with his emotions. “This is how I’m able to function,” he said. “The only way that I’m really able to process stuff is through reflecting it.”
Some of the visual language that he and Mr. Gold settled on — the syringes, the IVs, the PICC lines — make his memories and associations even more visceral. His Hamlet wears rumpled clothes and has a 5 o’clock shadow (if you’ve seen Mr. Isaac’s movies, you know his facial hair is a key to character) to approximate “the look and feel of spending long hours visiting a loved one at the hospital,” he said.
In the first days of rehearsal, Mr. Gold worried “that there would be things in this play that would be such deep triggers that he wouldn’t be able to make it through the show,” he said. But he watched Mr. Isaac use the play’s words “to contextualize what he was going through,” he said.
Mr. Isaac didn’t worry about making a timeworn speech like “To be or not to be” sound new. As soon as he says the words, he is instantly reminded of his personal loss and “the feeling that grief can just make you want to stop,” he said.
At the same time, he never really discussed that personal life in the rehearsal room. “It was always a very subtle thing hovering in the air, ” Mr. Gold said. Instead, he threw himself into experimenting with the role — physically, vocally — and worked on making his colleagues laugh.
Keegan-Michael Key, who plays Hamlet’s pal Horatio, noted that Mr. Isaac, who bought a Ping-Pong table for the rehearsal room, “likes to have fun.” Onstage he’ll often monkey with a pronunciation or arch an eyebrow just to get a rise out of a cast mate.
“He’ll do it on purpose just to keep everyone on their toes,” Mr. Key said. “The more alive it is, the more uncertain it is, the more dynamic it is.”
Mr. Isaac said that performing the play hasn’t felt especially dour. When he comes offstage after four hours he feels energized, he said.
That’s in part because the play isn’t only for his mother. When he acts, he’s also thinking of his 2-month-old son, Eugene, named after her. The baby has Eugenia’s lips, he said, and her hands.
He brought Eugene to the first run-through (“I think some of the more philosophical and theological aspects of the play were above his head,” Mr. Gold joked), and it’s Eugene he thinks of when reciting the “to be” part of the “to be or not to be” soliloquy.
As Mr. Isaac explains, the speech is about dying — that’s the “not to be” part — but it’s also about choosing to go on living. And Mr. Isaac has better reasons to go on than Hamlet does.
“You have a child,” he said, “and you must — you must for their sake — you must say yes to life.”

* / VERONICA VERSES ( kinda )
some extrapolations off her base bio to help get a sense where she fits in various contexts. all of these are open to tweaking and reworking, they’re just a bases to start from.
6 1 6
XMCU
Most likely conceived while Charles was still a mad lad during a brief fling or one nighter, things then follow her bio until we get to about XMA. However she’s still fairly close by going to Columbia or Princeton or some shit and questioning her life choices. When things like Apocalypse well…. being Apocalypse occur she always seems to come out of the wood work for at least the 5 minutes it takes to be moderately useful before scampering off again. Depending on how interactions and such go, it’s very likely she would side with Magneto with two of the main reasons being she’s too ashamed of her past actions to stay with her father/scared of how that shit’ll got over with him and the x-men, and Mags does tend to be a bit more forgiving on the that front and he does have a point too….
LEGION
As it stands now, she has been approached by Summerland at least once but politely declined and has mindwiped any/all people from Division 3 that have tried to contact/come after her. It would also not be shocking if she has come across Oliver or his iceberg since she does spend a lot of time in the Astral Plane. Around the rough middle to end of Season 1 she likely begrudgingly shuffles in since David’s just A Lot and it’s not obvious if they have a telepath around who’s not….. in cryostasis… While she’s aware that Charles is her father she’s not aware that David is her brother and if/when that’s figured out is up for discussion ( a best guess for when would be around the time David figures out how Farouk got in him in the first place ) . In Season 3 Veronica lives with David in the commune despite how totally not her vibe a hippy drug fueled commune is, the power of familial love at work. She supports, aids and abets his plan to go back in time and make sure Farouk never gets ahold of him. She is aware this plan all but guarantees that she’ll never be born but is at peace with that and still determined to see it through.
What happens to her post-series varies and there are 3 options:
1. like the others from her timeline after spending a little time with the Xaviers she too vanishes from existence 2. David knowing that this plan would kill her shoves her into a time/space pocket dimension closet and now she’s just adrift in the stream or whatever. does she appear again at all in the new timeline ? good question she’d love to know the answer. Hopefully. ( He didn’t super think it thru okay ) 3. The same as 2 but Switch has the decency to pull her out of the space pocket and leave her on the Xavier’s doorstep as a baby so that’s nice.
The last 2 end up creating 2 sub verses:
TERRY GILLIAM'S TIME BANDITS
Veronica is trapped outside time/space as we know it either in a single location it’s possible for others to find or just you know, around, somewhere in the mix of non-earth dimensions. She can occasionally get glimpses of the main timeline or communicate with it but is generally just Out There trying to sort her shit out.
DO OVER
Age: like 5-19 Additional FCs: dafne keen, more tba Thanks to David’s harebrained scheme and Switch’s kindness, Veronica is growing up with a family that loves and understands her along with her brother David. Largely a childhood verse but can span into her teens to her usual default age. Deals with a lot of coming into telepathy struggles and general growing things.
AUS
STRANGER THINGS
Age: 19 A free agent telepath with no connection to the Hawkins National Laboratory. Accidentally picks up on the thoughts of someone who’d been present during the coverup post season 1 thus learning about what went down and decides to poke around Hawkins to see what the fuck is up and if she can do anything productive there. Uses her abilities to forge her way into the High School as a transfer student and uses it as a cover and a starting point to begin looking for info.

hello! it’s that time again i try to sell myself as a potential writing partner. i have nearly finished all my drafts so i can actively go searching with a clean conscious, haha. but i am looking for people who want to world build with me. i really like discussing plots, headcanons, and anything that can make me understand your muse better! i love sharing memes, drabbles, and tossing around multiple threads!
i tend to write lengthier things but i am okay with any length as long as it’s not one-liners! i have zero interest in writing with someone who i will only have one thread with and never speak to again. 💀 i just rather focus on threads that will grow outside of just one single reaction! i like to think i am pretty easy to toss shit around with but i am a little shy!
so if you’re interested please give this a like and i will approach you after i check out your muses/rules!
what you need to know about me: can call me n! 26. cst. they/them. selective. slow replies due to work and other responsibilities. willing to make new muses for people if i really like an idea/plot! EMPHASIS on slow activity!

open to ANY type of relationship. family/friendship/romantic/enemies. doesn’t have to be romantic. however, if it is -- i always write with anyone so gender/fc/etc doesn’t every bother me. write who you want to!

MAGNETISED. bc I am far too lazy to actually type up my verses page, I’mma just lay down a couple of things about each verse. this is mostly for you guys, but also just as a reference / guide for myself.
earth-616 verses. will mostly use comic icons.
pre-life: basically everything that happened before she was found wandering around by bobby and joined the x-men. I do need to read up on this, yes.
x-factor: mostly from x-factor, issue #71, as this is the one that I am reading. will also eventually include the x-factor investigations era, though I might set that in a separate verse.
serval industries: you guessed it ! this is set in the time period when she was a part of serval industries. might be my main 616 verse. also need to read up on this just to refresh my memory.
x-men cinematic universe. uses icons of merritt in ‘ the royals ’.
original trilogy: set in the events of the first three movies. lorna is a member of x-factor ( despite it never being mentioned in the films ), a small group that has branched from the original x-men. in this arc, she is in her mid-twenties.
second wave: set during the events of x-men: first class and x-men: days of future past, she arrived at the school not long after the events of xmfc, having been approached by the professor and becomes a student under his study. because of the stupid timeline, she is not related to erik, nor does she share any of her genetics with him. both of them sharing the same power is merely a coincidence. she is in her late-teens to early-twenties.
revised timeline: also still working on this one. set in x-men: apocalypse. might follow the events of the x-men audio drama when it comes to her background. lorna arrives at the mansion after destroying her apartment. upon arrival, she is told that she will take a DNA test, and is eventually given the news that she is related to magneto. I don’t expect to use this verse very much.
alternate universes. uses various icons of merritt.
post-apocalyptic au: complete au. the world is in chaos, the x-men are dead and x-factor has long been disbanded. there is no one left to save the world, and she must go back to keeping her powers a secret. might include zombies. might include robots / AI. might even include aliens. the world is your oyster.
pls suggest more aus. I need ‘em all.
#*:・゚ ooc ▸ you don’t love her as much as i do.#I could have just put this on a page lmaoo#oh well#anyway if u wanna discuss any of them / help me plot them out#( esp the xmcu bc the timeline is sO FUCKED UP I dunno what's happening most of the time )#then you are more than welcome to offer your input !
