"I can still be useful" Alastor told himself as he straightened the lapels on his jacket, "She still needs me."

Alastor leaned into the mirror, slicking his hair back just the slightest bit.

"Yes." he nodded to his reflection.

Taking a deep breath, Alastor stepped out into the hall. He didn't know why he was so nervous. Y/n had never caused anxiety to rule his being before, so why was it happening now?

Since her arrival at the hotel, she had stayed locked in her room. Two whole days had gone by and the demon avoided everyone and everything. It was not unexpected or out of the blue, she had always favored her own company above anyone else's but, Charlie was growing tense. She had asked Alastor to help bring their newest guest out of her shell, hoping their shared past would cause his attempts to be more fruitful than her own had been. For some odd reason, Alastor had agreed.

Fondness was the trouble. He was fond of Charlie, and he had always had a bit of a soft spot for Y/n. She had been his wife for christ's sake, there was no way he couldn't have fostered some sort of affection for the wildly brilliant and creative girl.

Before he really realized it, Alastor was at the door to Y/n's room. She had taped a sheet of loose leaf to the door. Keep Out had been written on it in all caps, in her familiar, messy handwriting. Alastor's smile softened slightly at the sight.

Y/n had not haunted his thoughts, had not been an obsession, since his arrival in Hell. While he had recalled her with warmth and a slight smile, even looked for her in Hell on occasion, she had mostly stayed out of his mind after his death. Alastor had had bigger things to deal with, more important occupations of his time. He had had plans. He still had plans but, everything had seemed to change the second Y/n had appeared and nearly flat out told him she didn't care about him.

Alastor was nothing if not prideful. His image, his sense of self, his power, it all played in to the idea of himself in his head. He had figured that through the years of their arrangement, the strange woman had come to harbor some sort of affection for him as he did her. He had figured she at least cared for him as a friend, that her irritation had been friendly, playful even. Clearly, he had been incorrect.

The door suddenly swung open revealing Y/n. She wore an cross expression, a lab coat, and safety goggles. Peering over her shoulder into the room, Alastor noted the way her hair was still continuing whatever she'd been working on before opening the door. He had never seen a demon with a form like hers before. It was perfectly suited, equally unusual as the soul it housed.

"I could feel you standing out here."

Alastor raised his eyebrows, bravado taking over.

"Really, my dear?" he asked, leaning on his microphone before him as if it were a cane.

"Yeah." Y/n flatly replied, lifting the goggles from their eyes and pushing them onto their forehead, "What do you want?"

"I..."

What did he want? Alastor was a man who always knew his goals, his aims. He was always working towards something, no deed without its purpose. It was only now he realized that he didn't really know what he wanted from Y/n, why he had really agreed to fulfill Charlie's request with nothing given in return. Alastor cleared his throat, banishing the complicated thought to another time.

"Charlie requested I come speak to you about your lack of participation in the hotel's group activities."

Y/n raised her eyebrows.

"And you care what I do with my time because...?"

She tilted her head slightly to the side, her hands still on either side of the doorframe, blocking him from entering the room. Alastor sighed.

"You're not going to make this an easy conversation, are you."

It was a statement, not a question, and a slight smile cracked across Y/n's tired face.

"You know me so well." she joked lightly.

Alastor was ready, preparing himself to have to force his way into the room to have this chat. He saw the way her hand on the door twitched, and prepared himself to have it slammed in his face. Much to his surprise, Y/n let go of her hold on the door and stepped to the side.

"Are you just gonna stand there or are you going to come in?" she asked after a moment, her head cocked to the side in a genuine curiosity.

Alastor nearly laughed. Always so inquisitive with regards to the world around her, always trying to fill the gaps in her understanding, usually at a loss when it came to what was considered normal interaction. He stepped into the room. Y/n's hair stopped what it was doing with the test tubes in the back and closed the door for her as she turned to face him. After a look of appraisal, she seemed to decide the atmosphere for the conversation and sat down on the bed, patting the empty space beside her at Alastor's continued hesitation. He sat down and she crossed her legs, watching him intently.

"You need to stop avoiding people, and the activities. You are here to be redeemed, aren't you?"

"Oh! I see what the issue is." Y/n smiled brightly, "No, I'm not."

Alastor's brow furrowed. He had thought it odd that Y/n of all people would seek redemption but, had figured the time had simply changed her in ways he had yet to grasp.

"Then why are you here?"

The little beast called hope clawed at the inside of his stomach, gnawed on his ribs. The want was unfamiliar.

"Because I need an angel."

Alastor froze.

"You need..." he watched her in confusion, "you need an angel?"

"Yep." Y/n nodded in earnest.

She smiled up at him, evidently satisfied with herself and her response. She had always been like this. Alastor sighed.

"Why?"

"Because I need to test my virus on one, duh."

"Y/n, what are you planning."

"Same thing as always. Actually, I could use your help. Maybe this isn't all so bad, can you get me an angel? Just at the next extermination or something. I already know it works on demons, I just don't want to actually let my little baby loose without knowing it will work on the angels as well."

"Jesus, Y/n." Alastor laughed lightly, unable to not.

He shook his head in disbelief and Y/n's smile slipped from her face. She was always scheming, always wanting, always doing what it took to ensure she got what she wanted. They were so alike in that way: complete and utter disregard for the world unless it served them.

"What? Did I do something wrong? Did this hotel already work? Have the exterminations stopped?"

"No, I... you really haven't changed."

"Well, I'm taking out the afterlife now instead of the living world, but sure." Y/n crossed her arms, evidently irritated by his remark, "I'm just the same. So are you, by the way. I've heard about what you've been up to since you died."

Alastor was silent in thought for a moment before he spoke again. He looked at Y/n with a determined gaze.

"Are you asking to reinstate our deal?"

Y/n was wrong, Alastor had changed, she just didn't know it yet. The hotel had changed him, whether or not he wanted to admit it. He realized the answer to Y/n's initial question, what it was that he wanted, in that moment and there were only three things. The first was the same as it had been for the last seven years, to get rid of this damned contract he was under. The second? The second he had realized earlier, in his room when he'd been getting ready to come to Y/n, he just hadn't liked it and so, he had ignored it. Alastor wanted to be back in her good books. More importantly, for some undefinable reason, Alastor wanted her back at his side. The world, he had realized, had felt empty without her, no matter how irritating and distracting she could be. Though his motivations were muddy, figuring out the reason for the want was never the priority. The end goal was to fulfill by any means necessary. It always had been, for both of them. The third was that Alastor secretly wanted Charlie's crazy plan to work out. He wanted to protect these sinners, to protect this place they had all worked so hard to build.

There was a point of intersection to be found in two of these three things, if Y/n answered his question correctly. Taking out sinners, taking an angel, could let all hell loose on the hotel. Convincing Y/n to make a deal with him, to give Alastor her soul, well, that would be killing two birds with one stone. He would have his imperfect little companion in afterlife and he could stop her from doing any more damage to the hotel and its reputation than necessary to ensure the first thing took place.

"I suppose."

That was exactly what he had been hoping to hear. The first deal had been under her terms. Alastor had been hoodwinked into it, unable to turn it down due to the information on him she had uncovered. Now, the tables had turned. Alastor held his hand out towards her, grinning malevolently.

"How about this, let's make a new one."

"I don't see why not." Y/n shrugged after having thought it over, her hand meeting his, "Things are different, we're both dead. The old one wouldn't really work anymore."

"No, it wouldn't, would it?"

"Yeah so, you get me an angel to test this on. I start participating more in the hotel. Deal?"

"How about this." Alastor's grin widened, his antlers growing as well as his shadows ate away at the room's walls.

Y/n didn't flinch. Nothing in her expression changed save a slight twinge of intrigue as she watched him become more monstrous by the second, more all consuming.

"I help you get an angel. You stick by my side, like the old days. That would include participation in the hotel and all of Charlie's plans as it is where I work for now. A metaphorical taking of a soul rather than a heart, shall we say."

He was counting on her lack of interest in the world outside of science right now, counting on her lack of understanding of how things worked in Hell when an overlord offered a deal like this. He had chosen the words carefully, getting everything right while keeping the truth hidden.

"I'll still have time to work on my project?" she asked skeptically.

"When there is time."

Y/n smiled.

"Deal."

Green smoke wound its way out from the point their palms met. Y/n watched it, eyes wide with intrigue as it curled around them, temporarily filling the room.

"Is that what happens when deals get made in Hell?" Y/n asked as she let go of Alastor's hand.

"Only certain ones."

"Cool."

She got to her feet, snapping her goggles back over her eyes. Turning to the table, she began to fiddle with her test tubes once again. Alastor retook his normal form, watching her with a satisfied smirk. He summoned the chain, feeling the cool shadow of the mellow across his fingers. Y/n seemed not to notice as the collar formed around her neck. Alastor didn't like that, didn't like being ignored. He gave it a tug and she stumbled back a few steps, her hands flying to her throat and her hair catching the glass beaker she had nearly dropped.

Y/n noticed the chain now. It was impossible not to. As her hair set the beaker down, she turned to Alastor, eyes fixed on the glowing metal. Her gaze traced it from where she held it to his hands. Y/n looked up at him.

"What's this?" she asked, eyes narrowed slightly in suspicion, "When did this get here? How..."

She trailed off and Alastor's smile grew wider still. He advanced towards her, wrapping the excess chain around the handle of his microphone. It clinked menacingly against itself, spawning a sudden deep seated dread in Y/n.

She held her place, her shoulders thrown back and feet planted firmly. Alastor couldn't tell if it was all a show or if she really was not at all scared of him in that moment. He didn't really care, it didn't matter. She stared intently up at him in defiance as Alastor came to a stop about a half a foot away.

"Well?"

"Oh my sweet, you really have no idea what you've gotten yourself in to, do you?"

It was better than he could have hoped, could have dreamed. She was entirely under his control.

"Welcome to the rest of your afterlife."

Wow i suck at answering these on time smh. sighhhh, in my defense i procrastinate answering some questions cuz i don't wanna just put together some random stuff and call it a day-

i actually wrote some stuff for some asks before but had to delete it last minute cuz i thought its worth putting more time than that, i guess TvT sorry, im probably taking this too seriously idk.

My eNVee headcanons TvT:

k so, light envuzi involved too, Uzi is the mediator here, whether u consider her a friend here or their mini toaster in the middle- also there's some of the stuff from my future version where V is safe and sound thankfully. and also maybe some stuff from their past too.

With how N was realizing that V was lying or hiding stuff from him in a constant manner, naturally he grew to grieve the loss of who V USED to be, and with that loss he tried to accept that he has to let her go, because the V he fell in love with was long gone. despite this, when they both started teasing each other over their relationship with Uzi and N started to bite back a bit at Vs behaviors with more self confidence, they grew to form a completely different kind of relationship. Uzi was just having fun seeing them try to win her over lmao; but in the end they kind of started enjoying eachothers company again. Uzi felt happy seeing them get closure for the things they went through and was more than happy to support them through it.

Back at the manor V was fixed up after J and N, she was one of the later drones added to the family, she hardly spent much time at the manor at all before the great yeetening happened- she was originally a maid drone for a family before she was broken and dumped in the drone corpse junkyard. Maid drones are programmed with sweet and soft AIs with more round/short body shapes to have a friendly image in a household, they are made to be able to deal with both adults and kids, and they are best made for cleaning and setting up the house in mind. N was made as a butler/chauffeur before getting broken and yeeted in the junkyard [yes he can drive]. Due to V getting broken for some sort of mistake during work, she was left scarred after her reboot to make any more mistakes, which left her slightly jitter-ish and clumsy. Tessa put N in charge to help her around and although at the beginning V didn't talk much and felt unsure, slowly N became her safe space- especially since Tessas abusive parents remind V alot of her old household. N in turn thought V was always cute, he helped her with her work, having more steady hands, which ended with a lot more hand touching and blushing on both their ends :p

N was the one that suggested glasses for V which Tessa decided to try doing to see if it would help her visual efficiency in any way, and it did. V as a DD often tries to rely on her real eyes rather than look through her main visor, the glasses remind her too much of N...

N and V sometimes used to get out of the manor in secret spots to spend some time away from the chaos to help V calm down. during this time they would read books, learn stuff from each others past lives, and sometimes draw lol, but V just liked watching and listening to N, she felt happy with him. although unlike N, V felt a bit nervous around the animals in the area XD

N and V actually have shared kisses, just not on the lips. with N kissing her on the back of her hand as a gentleman and V giving him kisses on his cheek [Tessa's idea of a cute plan to put them under a mistletoe lol], but Vs last words to N was a promise to give him a kiss before she became comatose. as more drones in the manor stopped working and Ns efficiency and work became less useful to the manors occupants due to him wanting to spend time with V all the time, Louisa and James started becoming more impatient with Tessa's drones, which lead to the whole "get rid of them" line...

back in the current time V is obviously trying to protect N in her own traumatized way; but even then, most of the things she had done to "shelter" N, was probably not the best choice one could make, and some of it was done out of jealousy towards N and Uzi getting closer. However, slowly she started convincing herself that N deserved someone like Uzi. V had convinced herself that she deserves nothing. She was willing to give up everything for N and keep him safe from the beginning, even if it meant knocking N down a few limbs/heads just to keep him away from danger- which is problematic in itself. she made choices based off fear and urgency. she was always traumatized.

When N and V started getting along together a bit more and hanging around a bit in the human cities- V takes N to a bookstore she found once and they spent the whole day in the shelter of the store reading different old books. V still does not admit she did this to see N happy again lol.

When N started showing V affection again, V started becoming heavily touch starved and dependent on him again, just like the manor days, which she feared, which caused a minor set back for a while where she tried to avoid N. Uzi had to come and fix this shit cuz apparently only she can scold 2 dinosaurs without feeling intimidated. after N and V kiss for the first time PROPERLY after the whole solver BS ends, V just gets more touch starved and she hates both N AND Uzi for this lmao.

N and Uzi know that one of the only ways to make V calm down is to act soft with her, occasionally praising her and calling her nice things; even when V is literally threatening to bite their head off- [shes bluffing-.......mostly.]

N is usually the one that initiates any closeness with V. after their first kiss, N does tell her that she's done stuff that he might not be able to casually forgive, but at the same time he has seen her grow, and she does have good in her that he still loves her for.

V has nightmares and hardly ever sleeps, and when she does, its usually cuddling N or Uzi.

V tries to wear her glasses more often in the future. N likes it a lot :"3

V is surprisingly a good mom :p [spoilers for my au lmao bye] but yeah, since her original OS was for a maid, she still has some functions to be good with little ones. she cant help herself, she just really likes babies and kids.

N likes sometimes ballroom dancing with V for old times sake...

I come bearing ScaraSethos 🤲🏼💝 hopefully it’s not a spoiler to reveal that Sethos’ pretty significantly affiliated w the Temple of Silence but all that to say that it’s usually a quiet and peaceful place since it’s hidden away but once Wanderer begins coming over at Sethos’ friendly requests (tho Wanderer claims it’s purely for academics lmao), the other temple peeps begin to hear Sethos’ laughter echoing thru the hallways bc he kept playfully pestering his crabby guest one too many times and ended up pinned to the floor tanking hella scribbly tickles along his lower back aka my personal take on Sethos’ Death Spot™️ bc that back window is so tasty

Bonus if the temple elders who watched Sethos grow up tease him in front of Wanderer afterwards saying that they missed his bubbly laughter from when he was a smoll boy and his face starts burning while Wanderer gives them his innocent, angelic, and polite smile like what a cute memory (o^^o) but Sethos knows he’s doomed fr fr poor mans is not well versed in keeping his giggles under wraps for very long and when he tries to hide his laugh in his hand / the crook of his elbow, Wanderer is quick to switch spots and dig right under his arms and along the curve of his shoulder blades yknow? instantly gets Sethos begging for his life and nothing thrills Wanderer more bc he’s a ruthless ler and Sethos is actually very tanky for a lee when it comes to having a giggly good time

it’s not entirely one sided tho! Wanderer takes his hat off indoors and when he uses his skill so eventually, Sethos notices the electro mitsudomoe on the back of his neck, whcih instinctively he thinks to touch it with a little bit of electro (like when you see the pillars in the overworld haha) thinking at most Wanderer will glare at him and maybe tickle him but to Sethos’ immense delight, he SQUAWKS like a dusk bird and fumbles a stack of books he was carrying or even his catalyst and its silent for a moment before Sethos gets a wicked grin on his face that Wanderer doesn’t stick around to see bc he’s booking it away Anemo jet style so it’s a race for who’s faster btwn him and Sethos’ electro speed but since it’s also Sethos’ home turf, he eventually backs Wanderer into a dead end muahahahaha

Sethos back window is 110% his worst spot, like get him on his back and he's yours. Sethos knows that, the elders knows that, heck cyno knows that and now wanderer. Poor guy is doomed.

And wanderer isn't the sweetest ler, he is almost downright mean sometimes. But not cruel,, however he definitely gets a kick getting to absolutely wreck Sethos by tickling him to pieces. Best part? Sethos is down for that, he finds it fun :)

As for sethos getting revenge, it's like a 40% chance he will get to properly get wanderer back, but once the opportunity arrives. He will leap on it. Do his damn best to try and take him down and tickle him back. Finding his weak points. But it's not easy when your boyfriend has anemo power equivalent of jets that makes him able to zoom away at any point he wants.

But, I'm a firm believer that wanderer is pretty ticklish himself, thighs are the worst spot. Sides are another, ribs, hips. Tracing the marks that light up during the times he uses his vision? Yep. But the mark on his neck?... touch it at your own risk, it's a reminder of what he is, was. Who he's connected to, and he probably wouldn't be very happy by having it brought up. But with time, maybe he would occasionally let his curious partner touch it.. maybe -3-

was scrolling for different reasons but I saw your post about struggling to get friendly responses from stray cats. I love cat body language so I offer you an infodump (sorry if you know these tips already):

1) make yourself approachable by getting low to the ground. The bigger you are the scarier you are... smaller = less threatening, so squatting or sitting is good. This is also the best position to reach out from: hands from above remind cats of predators... hands from around their own height are much less scary.

2) making eye contact then looking away (repeatedly) is how you invite a cat to get close to you. Maintaining eye contact with open eyes is how cats say "go away." (Holding your eyes closed for a few seconds says "I trust you", but a stray might not pick that up coming from a stranger)

3) in my subjective opinion, "pspsps" sounds unnecessarily similar to hissing... mimicking meows works for me lmao. however if you don't like that, talking calmly/softly with higher pitched vowel sounds (heere kitty, hii, etc) should work too.

4) the best way to say hello: hold your hand low, palm up, and let the cat sniff your fingers. Do this for a few moments before you try to touch them. (This is like the human version of how cats greet each other, which is by sniffing each other's noses)

5) don't push your hand into the cat's face to get it to sniff you. Also, if the cat leans away from you or starts to walk away, it's MUCH better to not follow... generally, cats need you to prove that you're not trying to hurt them. Allowing the cat to get away when it wants is the best way to tell them you're a safe person.

I dunno where I first saw the HC that gaz loves live music but I totally agree, BUT knowing some combat vets end up having difficulties with loud crowded spaces…

I feel like one of his favorite things to do as a teen was music festivals, maybe he even volunteered for a few years at one of the big ones so he could see more shows and see them for free.

But after so many combat tours, dangerous missions like Piccadilly, he finds it hard to relax at them nowadays. The crowd sizes and dark and noise just gets his neurones firing and heart pumping and not in a fun way. Can’t help but be on the lookout for large areas with no cover, rooftop sight lines, suspicious backpacks or bags… he knows security does good work and events like what he’s dreading are rare but he just can’t turn off that learned instinct.

Bonus points; you and him go to a music festival night with heavier bands playing, louder music and just overall more intense. he won’t let you go into the massive crowd to be closer to the stage. He just doesn’t want to see you get hurt, from a mosh pit or just plain heat exhaustion! Even worse, if something bad happens, he doesn’t want to lose you in the chaos!

Double bonus points; you manage to sneak some vodka or a joint in or something and while he wants to give you some shit for it, he saw those drink prices. He gets it. (The one I worked at marked up the price of the drinks by 600%!!! Felt bad serving it lmao)

Kyle who takes a while to actually properly attend a music festival/concert. He tried to attend one on leave after Piccadilly with you, but he blinked and suddenly he was launched into fight or flight; like you said, looking for unattended bags, looking for suspicious individuals—identifying where you could get hurt the most, etc.

It takes him a long time to even settle a bit at a concert. Even then, Kyle cannot completely relax, even when he is assured by himself, you, and as well as a friend in security that the event is as safe as it can be. And even then he has a mental checklist that he cannot help but do. Check the crowd, have a map, know the less populated routes, look for stray bags, don’t stay by speakers, etc. Kyle’s heart races when he gets in his head a bit too much about it all—especially with you, as he is skilled in VIP escorting—yet, you somehow make it better for him at the same time.

Your soft touches, your calming voice and tone—you lean in to speak directly in his ear instead of yelling over noise, another thing that subtly calms his nerves and reminds him that no, he isn’t in a war zone and no, there hasn’t been another terrorist attack.

After a while, you notice Kyle getting antsy, his hand twitching near his belt like he’s going to reach for his service pistol holster that isn’t there. You grab his twitchy hand and you guide him to the smokers friendly gazebo where only maybe one other person is. It’s quieter and calmer, and Kyle looks at you with appreciative eyes—and he grins when he sees you pull out a familiar little bag and lighter.

Alastair’s words hurt no matter what and maybe I’m just a super depressive dark person but it would be more heartbreaking if their friendship meant a lot more and it was a little more obvious. I enjoy subtlety, I really do. I get if CC was going for a “they hardly talk or are seen together but behind closed doors, they’re actually friendly” but it doesn’t come off that way to me. maybe to others but not to me. Swansea: While he knows the man doesn't treat him the best, Dee knows it must be because Swan is old-fashioned. He considers him a wizard, as he doesn't know a single thing about mechanic stuff, except to repair his own car on Earth.

Anya: He admires and respects his mentor, wishing he could be as determined as her on studies and discipline. He runs to her whenever his emotions (crybaby) get the best of him

Daisuke: They share a few hobbies in common, like videogames and drinking at parties. Tho, Derek keeps his barriers up mostly since he doesn't want to date a playboy

I bet they start friendly, maybe Daisuke is a bit too much of a social butterfly for Derek. There are times that is just Daisuke yapping while Derek listens, and since my boy is a bookworm, he'll probably hide in the medbay from time to time just so he can study.

I can imagine that since he is not a "proper" nurse like Anya, he gets the harsh words instead for her, with Swansea, Curly and Jimmy not taking him seriously. Which leads to some bickering as Derek would try to "man up" and answer with something sarcastic or bark a comeback. This backfires at times and he is a crybaby so its Anya the one that has to step up for him and even make her complains to Curly, who yes, doesn't take much action either or excuses as friendly banter.

He gets along with Daisuke, who tries to help the blonde feel a bit better about himself. Game night is fun since both Derek and Anya are competitive, Derek pays extra attention during the sessions so there are times things get LOUD when he notices Daisuke is actually cheating and calls him out in the spot, with Anya joining the play-fight as well. They too convice the other to some trouble, like pulling pranks on the crew (sticky notes mostly) or trying to get some sweetener and hide it away. They try to not be suspicious about it.

The only person that knows Dee is intersex is Anya, of course, since she is the Head Nurse and knows how everyone's health is. She is the first one to notice that Daisuke was trying to flirt with Derek, who at first didn't register the approach, but once he was told by her, he began to actively try to reject the other's advances. Of course, Daisuke would prioritize their friendship over the evident crush he has on Derek, Swansea had to scold him about stop thinking with his lower half for a minute

Derek also worries that Daisuke is just being stubborn since he is aware he looks femenine and they are away from Earth, probably to just vent or being a friends with benefits situation, things Derek doesn't want. While he doesn't mind the talks about parties, the mentions of several girls and flings makes him doubt the other's seriousness. Daisuke is being 100% serious and even feels a bit under the weather whenever Derek ends up saying something a bit too hurtful while rejecting him.

So there are two routes! The Good one and the Canon one (As always!)

Good route: As Derek is still in charge of Jimmy's psych evals, he slowly begins to get firmer and insist on the other to take it seriously (With the help of Anya who also put her foot down towards Curly). This ended in a venting match, but with positive outcomes, Jimmy was given some resources to cope with their situation about getting fired, deal with the isolation and even encourage him to do weightlifting with whatever they had available in the ship. Derek also encouraged him to do karaoke nights, even if it was embarrassing and there was no machine.

So, with one problem being maneagable. The trip is a bit more comfortable. Especially after Daisuke and Derek, with the help of Swansea, managed to hack the Screen at the Lounge, using Derek's dvd player the crew had a new source of entertainment, or well... they just had Supernatural to watch.

During these movie nights and gaming sessions, Daisuke and Derek began to get a bit closer, watching the show together also helped Daisuke understand why Derek rejected him so many times, he began to notice on how the other paid attention to the characters on the screen, what speech would water his eyes. When they reach the series's finale and the angel's confession plays, Daisuke blurts feeling that way towards Dee and that despite hating the idea of going on board, it was the best thing his mom forced him to do, while the rest put on the last episode, they remained sit, with Derek hugging Daisuke's arm.

They did not confirm to the other if they were dating, but the rest could tell they started to sit closer to each other. Curly has caught them holding hands. The truth being that neither wanted to rush things, as Derek wasn't comfortable with being too touchy at the moment.

When they return to Earth, both received the Title for their respective jobs, tho they were only available for Pony Express. But at least provided them with better chances to get scholarships or jobs in other companies.

Swansea had a goot talk with Daisuke's mother, starting first with all his complains about his intern, to later start congratulating him about all the stuff he has learned and how hardworking he is.

Anya and Derek keep in touch, tho Derek ended up not studying to become a nurse but decided to study to become an Elementary School teacher. His family invites Anya over for certain dates as thanks, she returns to her home with several tupperwares full of food.

Daisuke was more terrified at the idea of his mother rejecting Derek right in the spot, but she seemed ok, her only complain was that Derek was way too pale and needed to stay as much as possible under the sun. Derek's parents laughed it off, saying that would be difficult as Dee likes to be indoors even on Earth

Canon route: (Inspired by "Jueves" from La Oreja de Van Gogh)

After the crash, Anya and Derek had tried their best to keep Curly alive, trying to give him his meds and taking care of his exposed skin. Derek was not handling well the sight of his patient, that's when he learned he didn't have what it took to be a Nurse. Which began to affect his self steem even more.

Drinking mouthwash wasn't as bad for him, it was sweet and the alcohol did its job just fine. He and Daisuke would be sobbing near each other, from confessions about hating being there, missing their parents. Daisuke learns about how Derek misses his mom's blueberry pie, and how much he wished for his dad to save him, he too misses his parents, but he can't also feel resentment and anger against his mom, there were times where he tried to blame her for everything. Just to end up thinking that if he wasn't so stupid, had gotten a job or started studying something, he wouldn't be on the Tulpar... but that left him feeling worse about Derek being there alone, with only older people which 3 clearly didn't took him seriously.

When Anya locks herself in Medbay, they are both in a panic. Derek is a crying mess when Jimmy insists Daisuke to go in the vent, he tried to reassure him that he'll be back in a bit, but Derek was having none of it, calling him a liar while begging him to not die.

While Jimmy is waiting in the Utility room, Swansea still unconscious, Derek runs to MedBay and try to open the door with the axe he stole from Swansea. He success after he hears Daisuke screaming in the vent, pure brute strenght exhausted on those blows at the door. He helps him get out of there, dragging him as much as possible until Jimmy comes and helps him, its then when he noticed Anya's dead, worst, the crisis made him realize that Anya's belly was bigger, that's when he realizes. She didn't tell him about a certain something that happened to her, not like he could have helped her.

As Jimmy leaves Daisuke on the sleeping bag, Derek follows, quite out of it. His mind still processing what happened. Daisuke is in pain, groaning, the least Dee could do was to hold his hand, something breaking inside him when he realizes Daisuke murmured something, something that resembled an "I love you" as his eyes closed, the trauma and the wounds were fatal and didn't give chance for Derek to give a reply, nor for Jimmy to disinfect the wounds with Mouthwash.

Swansea is still unconscious through all this, when he wakes up, he sees Daisuke's dead body then, impaled to a wall, a rusty nail piercing Derek's stomach. Both kids are dead. Jimmy claiming it was Derek's idea to force Daisuke into the vent, because that stupid idiot was so worried about Anya that he wouldn't even think things properly. And that in the end, attempted to attack Jimmy as well.

Swansea didn't believe shit, and so the events of the game continue its ending.

molière: i love molière as a writer so much! his works are very timeless even if he was writing with the idea of his time in his head (as is expected) but the ideas he proposes are so valuable even today. he never makes his female characters marry the men their parents (fathers) chose for them, but always has them end up with the men they actually love. there's always a character of a wise servant, person of the people so to speak, whose wisdom supersedes that of their masters. he wrote plays to mock aristocracy, while his actual public was the very same aristocracy. he died playing the main character of a sick man in his own play, on the stage. idk much about his personal life, but that is irrelevant to my enjoyment of his work by and large. and also, idk what it says about me, but i find his comedies actually hilarious. (barring don juan, which is weirdly unfunny but also highly entertaining in its own way.)

the red and the black, stendhal: one of my fav books of all time. i am lowkey in love with the protagonist, julien sorel. but what draws me in is the way he writes - stendhal's style of writing is somewhere between the sentimentality of romanticism and harshness of realism, and has been dubbed subjective realism; it reminds of my own style, with a lack of description unless it's very meaningful, which allows for rich and powerful personalities to shine through. three main characters - julien and his two lovers, louise de rênal and mathilde de la mole - are all so wonderfully fleshed out. i love how julien's life is less shaped by the men in his life, barring napoleon, and moreso by the women. mathilde is a wonderfully written female character, even by modern standards and especially given the fact that the book was written in 1830. stendhal likes writing violent women and it shows, esp in the character of mathilde! i have seen people thinking julien may be some flavor of asexual too, although it's not a theory i personally subscribe to, and i can see where they're coming from. if that helps sell the book better, here it is.

father goriot, balzac: the book that helped me realize i was bastardsexual when i was 16. has the pretty, ambitious, morally questionable/morally downfallen protagonist, who is the name behind my bookblr! i've read that book twice, and every time i'm so in love with it. has some questionable social takes sometimes, esp on a gay-coded character, but it's centuries old and that's expected. it reads as a miseducation in a lot of ways and a corruption of eugène's morals.

the counterfeiters, gide: questionable writer life choices aside, this book's structure is truly a fascinating one. character work is amazing, and it uses a technique i like to use myself, which is letting other characters form the opinion of the reader about another! there are interesting writer interludes and opinions that never permeate the story, but they're there. there are dorian grey-esque gay themes that are not subtext, they're quite overt for its time, and there is an uncle-nephew gay relationship? other than that, i loved the realism of the characters' personalities, their well formed social positions, the ways they're all related to each other. best part is the diaries of the counterfeiters, notes gide made as he was writing the book, which show that he thinks of his characters as 1) separate from himself and doing what they think, not what he wants them to do, 2) what we would now consider to be an oc! a blorbo oc! his thoughts on art and writing are so interesting too and they DO permeate the story greatly, especially in edouard's diary :) if you can get through the weird structure of the book, it's absolutely amazing

Venti being silly and playing their lyre and convincing dorian to chill out while dorian tails them places and reluctantly puts up with their shit and venti opens up about themself and dorian tells them about his own life. durin and dvalin paralleling dorian and venti. just them getting closure together and at first dorian is super reluctant but he warms up to it and venti gives him dragon therapy and he plays music with venti (friendly reminder ventis lyre is what stopped durins rampage.... imagine it had a calming effect on dorian)

okay I don't expect anyone to rb this but u can if u want this is just a lil mini rant abt David now that I've read Academy X

When I first started reading New X-Men I was like huh this is Not the David I know but now that I've gotten through all of his major character development I think I really Get where Gillen was coming from with him and think he actually got David right. I don't agree with David being attracted to Teddy or Colossus even though Gillen seems to think that's his Type (it's not, his type is asshole speedsters lmao. Kieron, could you by chance be, projecting? Mayhaps?) and like. If I was going to make any of the OG 12 queer I would have done Brian, the most obvious answer, but he got killed off too quickly for that to happen lol. But it's okay because David is a bi icon now and we love that for him.

I do find it a little strange that he and Tommy got along so well at first after what Nori did to him, but hey, who's to say he didn't even realize how similar they were? and given the long time period between YA 2 and when Tommy and David were confirmed to be together, I think it's safe to say that David may have forgiven her, or at least gotten over her enough to overlook the similarities between her and Tommy by that time.

But yeah... since then the only thing I've really liked for David was Gillen's Thinkfast pride story and the voices infinity one focused on Tommy. The rest... it's either crumbs where they're just reduced to "Nerd boy and asshole bf" or its... Williams' X-Factor.

The biggest problem, obviously, with X-Factor was the Hatecrime. That was not Leah's story to tell, and of course it's been so long now that if David gets to be big in anything it's unlikely it will be acknowledged. Which it SHOULD BE. Now that she did that, we HAVE to acknowledge it in his story because that isn't something that David should just be able to walk away from. Ignoring it or pretending it didn't happen, at this point, just isn't okay.

My other main criticism with Williams' David is that, well... along with many of her other characters in this book, he's pretty much reduced to a memey, one dimensional, fragment of what he has been in the past. He's "Distinguished bi nerd boy" which... that has never been David, that has never been who he is.

I think David working in investigation is very interesting and obviously his powers are very useful for that, but I wish we could bring back David working in combat, because friendly reminder, he has the fighting skills of everyone he's ever come into contact with, even when he had lost his powers, after the Cuckoos gave him everything back, he could fight like fucking Wolverine, he had all of Kitty's ninja training in him. and now he has even more than that. He's incredibly skilled in hand to hand combat, and he's also just, beyond useful and powerful in so many ways.

Anyways. to wrap this up. Idk how long Gillen is going to stay with the X books but I wish he would write David again. I wish David was in something big, or long enough to be interesting, I wish he was on a team, maybe even leading a team. He was such a great leader for the New Mutants Squad? He didn't even have powers or the knowledge he had before losing them when he helped his team take down FUCKING NIMROD??? HELLO?? He should be so much more relevant than he is right now.
