To be honest, this is exactly what Riot did prior to Arcane and a little bit after its premiere. Throughout the years I understood more and more that these fuckers should never be trusted with anything so I take every damn thing with a grain of salt. It makes life more enjoyable 😗

But if we speak about financial opportunities of, for a lack of a better word,

You know what, let me tell you a story called ✨Riot's most notable attempts to explore Jinx's romantic potential throughout the years✨

I'm gonna start with something that doesn't really count. Doesn't count at all, actually. But still kinda does, in my opinion (and my heart 😆). An official crack ship that Riot's staff clearly put for the sake of making a pun. it's totally not the reason I decided to write this post at all, I swear I present to you Jhin/Jinx - the first attempt to toy with the idea of jinxomance.

It was obviously a one-time joke, but I'm so glad Riot's first thought was to make a Valentine's Day card about two characters whose four-letter name starts with J and who are cruelly misunderstood artists in nature (THIS IS EXACTLY MY TYPE OF HUMOUR, I'M SO SORRY, THIS IS EXACTLY THE SHIT I'D PULL IF I WAS THERE). I love it, honestly, it makes me feel like I overdosed on ascorbic acid in the best way possible.

Yes, Star Guardian counts too, actually! In a very "mahou shoujo classic slight yuri that leads nowhere, but it is not really queerbaiting because there's almost nothing going on between anyone, let alone these two" way (you can tell I've been a victim of this one too many times 🚬💀), but it DOES count. Basically, they let Jinx have quotes and moments that could be read BOTH platonically and romantically (Jinx is a tsundere-type character in sg universe so it gives a LOT of freedom to interpretations 🤣☝️). Unfortunately for lc enjoyers, chances of something going on between the girls seemingly went down the drain. For many, many, maaaany reasons. But especially when Ezreal came in. I'm sorry, I have to say it, ezlux has more support from Riot than any other ship combined since it's their absolute favourite go-to pairing, with which they can play safe all the time. All in all, it can be considered the first and it seems like the last time they tried to play with the concept of somewhat romantic lightсаnnon.

"But Valoran Town-" First, Valoran Town is meant to be a wild rift ad in a cute animated form where they made all their poster characters friends, so it's very logical Riot would put them in there as bffs, especially considering they made lc bffs in sg before. Second, all the possible romantic undertones between any characters are erased completely (again, except for ezlux, BECAUSE IT'S SAFE TO PLAY).

Also, off topic but kinda not, I noticed how animators made Jinx and Ez do the targonian lovers pose in the intro of Valoran Town. Like, in a very blatant way. But it doesn't lead anywhere (it's just an easter egg). Although, personally, I think it would be fun to watch if they acted on implications.

*coughs*

However, the most famous (prior to Arcane) and undoubtedly clear attempt to make a pairing with our bombastic lady is the whole ordeal of Jinx and Kayn in Odyssey. And not gonna lie, it worked on me because the concept is batshit hilarious while being very suggestive. But this level of blatantly horny dynamic did not work for general public so Riot never attempted to do something like this again. They swept it under a rug and forgot about it, just like with the previous cases.

Despite what some fans (mostly lc ones in my experience) may tell you, jinxomance didn't work in terms of financial benefit. As a separate character? Yes. As a part of a pairing? No.

And then... came Fortiche with their timebomb agenda that slowly caved its way into Riot's chambers. Fortiche's relationship with this particular pairing is actually suspiciously simple 😑 because a lot of things suddenly start to make sense (like why their creative freedom is seen the most with these two characters - to the point where every timebomb scene could be considered a part of an art portfolio) when you learn that their first two projects for Riot were: 1) Get Jinxed music video (Jinx's character trailer); 2) Seconds cinematic (Ekko's character trailer). They're basically Fortiche's babies. It was seemingly pushed by them (even if unintentionally) to the point where certain people on the Riot team started to notice.

I can only guess what happened later.

From now on, everything that came after late 2019 - early 2020, when Arcane was finishing its development of season 1, could be considered an engagement test.

At this point it was pretty clear Riot understands that general public loves Jinx and Ekko as separate poster characters.

The question is, would people enjoy them as a couple (which, contrary to popular belief, doesn't happen often in league). Couple that, most importantly, could help make profit.

Would people buy twice as many things as they did before if they see these two together?

Would people engage with content more than they already do just to learn what both of their favourite characters are up to?

Would people be more inclined to invite new clients just so they could, for example, play the game™ with characters that have matching skins?

The answer is yes, judging by the general reception of this pairing after diabolical Arcane season 2 - the complete public adoration mixed with the absolute international success of "Ma Meilleure Ennemie" (performed by two of the most influential and talented artists of our generation) that exceeded all expectations (which I'm sure at least one of the producers is angry about, because they missed a huge financial opportunity by not giving it promotion - luckily, it was so good it didn't need one).

All in all, as long as timebomb continues to bring money to the company, it won't fade away in favor of other pairings. In fact, it's most likely that the company will focus their attention on it in an attempt to figure out how to make them even more profitable.

I know. Seems like a very materialistic and cruel view of things. But it is what it is, unfortunately.

Ohh, this is so kind, thank you! I'll pick:

22. Has your Tav become particularly close to anyone romantically and/or platonically in their journey? If so, who, and what is the relationship like? If no, why not?

I picked this mostly because right now I'm working on developing Tavish's relationships with the companions. Astarion is easy - mutual protection and transactional FWBs turning into something more as they grow to understand each other better - but I'm having an interesting time sussing out the rest.

Karlach - very easy, a big sister she never knew she wanted. She looks up to her tremendously, admires everything she is, and wants to be a better person from her influence.

Lae'zel - terribly intimidating at first. Doesn't understand why she doesn't lead - she clearly knows what she's doing and Tavish would happily follow her orders. However, seeing the way she handles Korru and some of the other refugees makes her wince. Keeps a little bit of distance between them until the creche, and then they grow very close; Tav empathizes with that feeling of having every support yanked out from under you at once. Lae'zel takes her under her wing in her martial training, and Tav shares her weird lock & key preferences in a way I think Lae'zel would genuinely enjoy. Tav also likes listening to Lae'zel; she finds her storytelling diction poetic and beautiful, and even if she doesn't understand the content, she likes the rhythm and music of the words.

Gale - a blorbo she doesn't understand but whom she'd instantly kill for to protect. He's so diffidently out of place in the wilderness, even moreso than she is, and while any nascent feelings for him withered the moment he started talking about libraries and armchairs, she feels fiercely defensive over him and wants him to be happy and safe. Daydreams about building him a lovely enclosure with lots of natural light and air and mesh walls to keep the bugs out and lots of spellbooks for enrichment, that sort of thing. She doesn't really understand him or his ambitions (again: int 8), but she cares for him tremendously and would absolutely help him hide a body if he asked, no question. Can think of him a little patronizingly once in a while, until he does 600 lightning damage in one turn and she remembers exactly how deadly he can be behind the doubt.

Wyll - likes him quite a lot and treasures his approval, but unfortunately I don't think she really respects him by the end of the game. He loves his father and he's done so much good work as the Blade, and she deeply admires both of those, but the way he refuses to regret his pact and at the same time wants to get out of it while still despising Mizora while still taking her powers is more emotionally complex than she's really able to compass, much less help shape. Still ride or die, but he wouldn't be the one she'd go to for advice.

Shadowheart - where I'm struggling the most, because I personally love Shadowheart so much and I'm not sure Tavish does until end of Act 2! I think they look at each other respectfully through most of Act 1, get real tense with all the Shar stuff in Act 2, and then get close again in Act 3. I do remember there was one point in 2 where you find some documents saying things like "Shar thrives in shadow, may your steps be silent and swift" and "to take from others is to give them loss" and stuff and I was like well! maybe Tav is into that! and then we got to Malus Thorm and the corrupted shades and I was like well! maybe Shadowheart shouldn't be into that!! I think Tav really likes teasing out moments of lightness and laughter from her, initially as a personal challenge and then later out of sincerity. In many ways it's like Astarion; flattery and saccharine sweetness because they both know she doesn't mean it, and it makes Astarion laugh and Shadowheart be all prickly, but later it flips and she does mean it, and it makes Shadowheart smile and Astarion prickly instead. Ha!

Batman Drabbles/Headcanon/Oneshot/Random Ideas Dump

Soon to come up with idea dumps for other fandoms too. Please, tag me, like I said above. I'd love to see if you've written something based on any of these. But you don't have to, I'll find it eventually as I scroll through tags of the same characters and fandoms over and over.

Most can be X Readers, Headcanons, or some other stuff. I'll label it if it could be offensive, like yandere works or possible smut, don't worry, but you can totally make any of these have smut/yandere if you so choose. Also, this idea dump thing is a work in progress, and I'll (hopefully) add more later on. And unless I specify a version of the character, it's all up to you!

Normal Prompts/Ideas

Whichever Scarecrow/Johnathan Crane has the Grandma issues, I need a lil thing of some sweet old lady thinking that he's her grandson. Even though he's like, in full scarecrow gear. And this little lady keeps saying he should eat more, cause he's looking thin, or that he's such a ladies man, giggling to herself. He doesn't have the balls to tell her that he's not her grandson...Or that he's a villain. But eventually, he spills the beans that he's not actually her grandson, and that his real granny was a jerk (still won't say that he's the Scarecrow however). And she's just like "I'll be your new grandma, don't you worry sweetie, now come inside, and tell me more about yourself." And this man Is on the verge of tears. After, he now 100% calls her grandma, and will not take shit from anyone about it. Calls often, and always leaves her house with a full stomach and a smile on his face.

Okay, but imagine being someone watching over the Riddler as his probation officer, essentially making sure he doesn't go back to his evil ways, as well as help him rebuild his life. Edward, however doesn't. And slowly, but surely, the two start to bond. Could be platonic or romantic.

Batman dealing with an assassin for hire, not knowing who they are or who hired them. And once he defeats them, he has to hide the look of horror on his face as he takes off their mask and it reveals the identity of his dearest friend. It only dawns on him the next day he hears their name on the news, only confirming that his worst dream has become a reality. So he visits you, not as Batman, but as Bruce. He sees your reasoning, and he can only hope you get better. He doesn't want to have to fight you once more.

Any Villain hunting a security guard down during an Arkham breakout, for whatever reason of your choice. But luckily, another villain, who they have grown close to, comes and saves the day. The only thing they ask for in return, for a place to lay low...AKA, their apartment. Could be platonic or romantic.

A heartbreaker breaks the heart of whichever villain you choose, and a local bartender (who really doesn't care that their main clientele are villains), tries to ease their woes with some comforting words and booze. Could be platonic or romantic.

BTAS Riddler during his rehabilitation meeting an interviewer, of whom he finds their questions unique and refreshing compared to the others. Luckily he sees them at the celebration between Wacko Toys™ and The Riddler, interviewing a few guests. Riddler tells them to relax and let loose a little, and to get off the job and dance with him. Luckily, they're more than happy to oblige.

Arkham Riddler - Best Friends, right? (Amy Winehouse)

Riddler and the character have a rocky relationship/friendship. Things never get physical, obviously, it's normally quips at the others intelligence or deep rooted insults. But you slowly start to realize it's his way of keeping you out, he's afraid to trust you. To let you in. It's up to you how the story goes. Could be platonic or romantic.

Any Villain - Hold Up (Beyoncé)

Any villain helping a friend (or crush, depending on the kind of story you want it to be), beat up an ex of theirs. Imagine them ranting to them about how bad they were to them, and they're just like "Fuck them! We should jump them!" And they're just like "FUCK YEAH." Could be platonic or romantic.

Capullo Riddler - Year Zero (Ghost)

If you read the comic Zero Year, you'll know that he calls his reign on Gotham city "Year Zero", so whenever I hear the song I think about him promising how great his reign will be to his partner in crime, promising them how unstoppable they'll be, just him and them on the top of the world. Could be platonic or romantic.

Riddler - Me and Your Mama (Childish Gambino)

I don't know, whenever I hear this song I just feel like it's repressed feelings coming out. So I thought of Riddler and whomever getting high with each other, having a good time, then he started to reveal his feelings for them. Honestly, you can totally switch Riddler out for someone else, it's up to you.

(within reason, cause not all of them would do this) any villain as a "paypig" (also known as someone who likes someone dominating them financially, like taking their money. While some just give them the money not expecting anything and simply find that hot, others can want to be degraded or publicly humiliated.) I was thinking it could mostly be any version of the Riddler (Looking at you BTAS and Paul Dano Riddler fans) or the Penguin, but feel free to choose any villain. Whether they leave it for them in their apartment or send it to them online, depending on when the series takes place, is all up to you. Go ham with it.

And while to them it seems to not be working at all, to Harvey it's a different story. You've caught their eye, and they're gonna hunt you till the ends of the earth, whether you want them to or not. (And then I added a quote because I thought it up just now, pretty swag if you ask me)

Soon, before he can give them a real challenge, he finds out they're leaving town, never to return. He doesn't understand, you'd never be out of a job in a city like this! That was until he heard that a certain villain tried to nab them, to get rid of the only interesting thing in this god-forsaken place. No, this will not STAND! Now, he's going to give the little detective a letter, if they're as smart as he hopes, then they'll know where to meet him. He hopes to make you... Reconsider your plans on going. Could be platonic or romantic.

(TW: YANDERE, ATTEMPTED SUICIDE) This was made to be Headcanons, but do what you will with it. Any villain/hero finds their kidnapped 'partner' with a gun, threatening to kill themselves if they don't get out, or at the very least be able to go outside more. The character of your choice will have to try and coax them out of it, how they do it and how it ends is entirely up to you.

(TW: YANDERE) Look, I love Scarecrow as much as the next. But it's honestly weird how much of his yandere stuff is that he's fallen for an ex-student of his. I mean, yeah they're consenting adults, but geez, kinda weird. To me, a more viable way for a teacher scarecrow to have a person of interest is another teacher, or if you like it, a student-teacher. Think about it, for a normal teacher, he sees that they are more favored than him by students, so he cares to ask how to make his class more engaging. Romantic tension ensues, but nothing becomes of it because they want to "be professional", too bad he's anything but. And for a student-teacher, It'd be that they're learning how to be a responsible teacher, and have great interest in the subject of fear, although that is not what they will be teaching. Scarecrow considers them to be his assistant, and decides to get to know them more. Too bad he's gotten a bit attached. Either way, both of these ideas end the same way in my head, the ex-teacher, Jonathan Crane, revealing his new identity, the Scarecrow, to the public. And he's made sure his lovely little teacher has front row seats~ (P.S. Please don't attack anyone who has written scarecrow x student stuff, obviously they are both adults, and have the right to say no. This is not shade to them. I just wanted another option for those who feel uncomfortable with that, but like teacher Scarecrow. Thank you ^^)

Platonic Relationship Headcanons → Hop, Marnie, Bede, Klara, and Avery!

A/N: So... I did romantic relationship HCs with the SWSH rivals way back in December, and wanted to do some platonic ones as well!

𝗛𝗼𝗽

- Hop is the definition of a loyal friend. He’d be at your side in a heartbeat... and would always support your goals and celebrate your achievements along with you.

- Definitely shares his deepest secrets and/or fears with you. He sees you as his closest companion, and he also views you as very trustworthy. He feels safe when he shares everything with you... and you’d be the same telling him!

- I find it easy to see Hop as the boy who would stay up super late all the time yet still have a ton of energy in the mornings. So, if you just so happen to wake up at 3AM and are craving junk food, call him up and you two will go on an epic quest to the local Pokemart.

- You both are very open about expressing your friendship through physical touches! Nothing sexual! Just soft touches of your hands... sweet forehead kisses and lots and lots of hugs!

- You two often take naps together late int the afternoon, you curled up next to him with your head laying on his chest as the golden sunlight pours through his curtains. His mom had probably stumbled upon you two on accident several times, and just closes the door behind her with a smile.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗲

- Not super talkative or open about being friendly towards others, but with you she opens up and shows a lot more of her true self to you.

- Marnie hasn’t had the easiest life... and doesn’t have many friends... so your friendship really does mean so much to her, and she would be devastated if anything were to happen between you two that would sever that relationship... but as long as you reassure her, she’ll be okay!

- Confides in you a lot when she’s unsure of her emotions. She’s not one for showing them... so she goes to you and asks how she should feel or what she should do. You of course give her the best advice you can... and she lets you know she’ll be there to support you when you need her help too!

- You both spend a lot of time around each other... so you’ve both grown to know each other’s families. Piers treats you like his 2nd sibling at this point, and it makes you happy to know you’ll always have a place with them!

- Like Hop, lots of gentle soft touches as well. Her favorite things to do would be lean her head on your shoulder and wrap her arms around your waist and rest her head in your lap. She feels so comfortable around you when she can press herself to you and rest.

𝗕𝗲𝗱𝗲

- Your friendship together is very... chaotic. Both of you enjoy poking fun at each other often... though even though what you say would normally be considered rude or mean, you both know there’s no venom with your words!

- You two didn’t have the easiest start, given Bede’s past, he probably acted very cold and distant toward you when you first met. But... he slowly opened up to you... and now you two are thicker than thieves!

- You’re the one to wake up at some ungodly time in the morning and text him or call him about the most random of things, meanwhile Bede is over there practically begging you to go to sleep.

- Will always be there whenever you need him. He may certainly not look like a compassionate person, but if its you, he will be there for you!

- Will only ever hug you if its in complete privacy. He just gets super embarrassed in public, so you two resort to affection when its just you two! And its soft touches of course! 

𝗞𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗮

- Oh boy... you two are quite the dynamic duo! Klara is totally the type of friend to rant to you for hours on end about daily drama... though she has her moments where she asks how you’re doing or if you wanna talk!

- Despite her sass and attitude, Klara genuinely cares about you! She’ll be there to support you and defend you... and will let you know that she’s more than happy to hear you out when you need to rant!

- You both probably get into a lot of mischief together. Though most of the time its unintentional... you’ve ended up running away from angry prank victims multiple times before... always hand in hand! 

- You two exchange bracelets! You’ll intertwine hands and then slide the jewelry onto each others wrists and its so cute! You notice every time that you trade her a new bracelet... Klara won’t be able to take it off for the next few weeks cause she would feel bad!

- If you’re ever in doubt or are unsure about something, Klara will sling an arm around you or hold your hand and reassure you. There’s just something so comforting when she does that... it helps you relax instantly, and her words really help you make up your mind!

𝗔𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆

- Like Bede... you two are quite the odd match! Nobody expected you two to become friends... but you did! And you’re as close as close can get!

- He can be very stuck-up and selfish at times... but you know at the end of the day, he’ll always go out of his way to make sure the ones he loves are safe and happy, you included!

- You know his family situation wasn’t and still isn’t the easiest, so you make it a point to take him in on rough nights. You two end up having a lot of sleepovers because of this, though you know they help him feel a lot better.

- Both of you toy around with his ability to levitate items! As children, he was able to use his skills to snag you both a couple of snacks in secret... and his powers still prove to be useful as adults!

- Not afraid of PDA... but prefers when its just you two together. Though if somebody flirts with you in public... he still stride up behind you, sling an arm around your shoulder and glare at them until they go away. He’s super protective of you!

Game Night

I don’t really know what this is, I’m just glad I was finally able to finish a sanders sides’ fanfic for the first time. 

This fanfic was born from the last video, obviously, and the realization that the creativity twins canonically feel physical pain when their ideas are desregard or their function is “offended” let’s say, which I had to exagerate and turn int angst, of course, so enjoy!

Summary: Remus get sick so frequently that those nights have became his idea of a sleepover. 

Ship: platonic dukeceit. Or romantic. You can interpret it however you want

Characters: Remus Sanders, Virgil Sanders and Janus Sanders 

Warnings: swearing, kinda grapphic descriptions of pain and sickness, mentions to vomit. Also maybe some umsympathetic Virgil? I don’t see it like that, but I guess it depends on how you interpret it.

If Remus was real, he would be dead. 

And if snakes could demonstrate worry, they would make exactly the same expression that Janus had after looking at the thermometer. 

"How do you manage to get so bad so quickly?" 

"What can I say, being bad is the only thing I'm good at" Remus joked, the words scratching his throat as an unwanted cough came with them. Janus rolled his eyes, trying to seem calm. And falling. 

"Any idea what was the cause this time?" Remus' focus went down to the old and familiar sheet, which he fiddled with, avoiding the question. 

"How hot am I?" He vaguely pointed to the thermometer. 

"You have a 113°F fever" 

"Well, fuck. That's a new record" he touched his own forehead, smiling almost maniacally right after "Shit. How long do you think it takes until my brain melts? 

"Bold of you to assume it hadn't already" Virgil was the one to answer, entering the room with a bowl of hot soup in his hands. 

"Wow Virgil, that was fast " Janus lied, raising an eyebrow. "What happened?"

"I was trying to actually cook something real for once"

"Please don't tell me your burned the kitchen" the half-snake child replied, with some amount of actual fear behind the dramatic hand to his chest and horrified expression. 

"Ha ha" pause "...not on purpose" Virgil replied, looking away. 

 "Yeah, that's my job!"

"Remus, eat your soup, the grownups are talking" the embodiment of Fear interrupted jokingly, even though any of them was older then twelve. Then he turned to Janus again, already guessing what he was going to say "but... it's fine now. I took care of it" Janus made a mental note to go take a look at the damage as fast as possible. They could all be kids, but Janus knew very well he was the only responsible there. 

"I don't like it...!" Creativity replied, sounding like a child who doesn't want to eat salad. Janus sighed as his thoughts were interrupted, conjuring a bottle of perfume and poured it in the meal. 

"Now eat" and so he did. Virgil raised an eyebrow, but he was smiling, trying not to be so worried. Or at least not demonstrate it. After so many times, he should be used to it, but... well, he was Fear. It was his job to keep track of the worst case scenarios.

"Did he get better?"

"On the contrary. The fever is higher than ever"

"And I also feel like someone ripped my bones out of my skin and then put them back, but like... in the wrong way" Remus added, spilling hot soup all over the sheet and his clothes by trying to communicate with his mouth full. 

"So it's one of those nights" Virgil mumbled.

"I'm afraid so" 

Remus finished his soup smiling like there was no tomorrow, opening his arms despite how much that simple gesture hurted "Game night while I'm dying!" Janus smiled, with more sadness in his eyes than anything else. 

"I'll get the monopoly"

"I won"

"No, you did fucking not" Remus immediately answered, not even looking away from his cards.

"You can see for yourself" Janus showed his game, which clearly meant a victory, indeed. Remus tossed his cards on the sheet like it was their fault. He was so fucking close!

"You cheated" Virgil said sharply, as if it was an undeniable fact. 

"Do you have any proof? Janus challenged, not losing a beat or his mischievous smile.

"Yeah. It's the only thing you know how to do" the teenager replied, his tone as cold as a lake in the winter. Janus looked down before he could help himself. Couldn't he keep it down for at least one night? The night Remus needed both of them?

The cards caught fire. It was an accident, but Remus decided to go with that, jumping out of the sheets, trying to ignore the terrible twist that movement gave to his stomach. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he threw up. At least that way these two would stop fucking fighting. 

"What the hell?!" Virgil exclaimed, tossing his game away like it was burning. Which was the case, indeed.

"Let's watch a horror movie!" Well, he got their attention. 

"Did you need to burn things before saying that?!" Virgil screamed. He was standing and seemed even more distressed.This was a mistake, Janus realized. It was foolish to think they could ignore their differences for the sake of Remus. 

"It's more fun this way! What can it be? One of the classics? Some shitty obscure one?" He kept trying, getting out of bed and walking toward Virgil, who walked away from him. Janus immediately got up too, already anticipating the disaster that situation could turn to. A worst one. Because it was already a disaster. 

"Please, control yourselves"

"I'm controlled! I'm not the one burning things" Virgil replied, the trace of the tempestuous tongue in his voice proving that he was anything but in control. 

"Remus, please. Apologize for burning the cards"

"It's just some stupid paper!

"Now"

"It was a fucking accident"

"We all know it wasn't" Janus almost, almost told Virgil to shut up after that. But he didn't need to make things worse than they already were.

"It was a fucking accident" his voice started getting threatened, his eyes started shining with a red danger "But you know what wouldn't be a fucking accident? if I..." his vision went black, a headache that felt like someone had opened his skull being everything that existed and then not even that. 

Anxiety got out of the room immediately after his friend fainted, keeping his gaze to the ground, knowing that he wouldn't be able to stand any amount of time alone with Deceit.

   Remus wished he was real, so he would be dead. 

   He felt like someone had catched his body on fire, then hit his head with an axe, then exchanged his blood for poison and his bones with knives. 

   "I knew you were stupid, but not stupid enough to try and suggest an idea for Thomas. On your own. After terrorizing him the whole night. Literally hours after recovering from your last..." Janus looked down at his friend, in one of the only moments he didn't try to hide his emotions. Fear. Somebody had to fill the vacancy now that Virgil is gone, I suppose. 

   "It was..." He coughed blood. "A good idea"

   "Oh yeah, I'm sure he thought the same" Janus rolled his eyes. Remus tried to say that he would be fine, but his throat still hurt from the acid of his stomach and the scratching of his coughs. 

   "I told you to not do anything too dangerous. We are..." he looked down to his gloves which, as he knew, covered up for the scales that apparently had decided that half of his face was not punishment enough. "In a delicate situation, now that..."

   "The emo is gone. I know" Remus completed, his voice not much more than a whisper. 

   "Oh please, no. We are better off without him haunting us all day. If he prefers to deal with them, the only thing I feel is pity" anyone else would have believed that. Remus knew it was bullshit the second those words left his mouth. But he didn't say that. Mostly because he was feeling nauseous again and he learned that, apparently, people don't like if you throw up while trying to talk to them. 

   Janus stayed in silence for a couple more seconds, then something changed in his eyes and he got up.

   "Well, if you need me, I'll be reading" said, but before he could go too far, Remus grabbed the bottom of his coat, deciding to make use of his positions of creativity, as with a snap of his fingers green words appeared in the air:

   "It's game night, not a fucking book club"

   "I don't think you're able to play games right now"

   "I've never been better in my entire fucking life"

   The words glitched as his consciousness stumbled. 

   "Remus"

   "You've been reading, studying, planning, whatever every fucking time we were together" he finally was able to find his voice again "Is it me, Virgil, or just you being a dick? 

   "You need to rest"

   "I'm gonna vomit on your shoes"

   Janus sighed, sitting again on the bed. 

   "What do you propose?"

   "Truth or dare" Janus never plays truth or dare. The two of them, Virgil and Remus, would play it at any given opportunity, on the other hand. 

   "Don't test me"

   Floating words again: "I'm gonna take it easy"

   "You never take it easy."

   Remus frowned. 

   "Ok" the half-snake man sighed "let's find a compromise: I can play Never Have I Ever" 

   Remus smiled diabolically. So they had a deal.

   "Finally! It's been so long since our last sleepover!"

   "This is anything but a sleepover" Janus replied, not looking away from his book.

   "Yes it is! We're sleeping together not in a sexual way and wearing pajamas.

   "I'm not-" Remus snapped his fingers and suddenly Janus had a yellow onesie on. "...I'm not having a sleepover with you. And you're not even that bad"

   "But I'll be. And in the meantime... Please play truth or dare with me just this time please please" he said in one breath. 

   "You already know my opinion about this game"

   "I know that you like it! You would always laugh and even participate when me and Virgin played!" Janus flinched.

   "That was a long time ago"

   "Just two rounds!" 

   "I..."

   "C'mon! You're not gonna lose an arm if you play just one time. And even if you did, you would still have five perfectly good ones left"

  Janus hesitated. He knew Remus would get worse. It was obvious by the tiredness in his voice, even when he was so excited. And how pale he was. How deep his eyeshadow appeared, making him seem like a dead body. 

   He sighed. Remus smiled from ear to ear. Literally.

   "Truth or dare?!" Asked as if he was a child whose birthday had come earlier.

   "Dare, obviously" Janus said, unable to stop himself from smiling at his friend's happiness, even though they both knew it wouldn't last long. 

   But that was okay. Because they would have one another. And that was enough. It had to be.

What are your favourite tropes in fiction?

I really, really love found family, and also pretty much anything that involves deep non-romantic relationship connections. (Romance is fine, I guess, but I’m not a particularly romantic person and live in a culture that prizes romantic relationships so I love seeing portrayals of happy, healthy relationships in other ways.)

Like, one of my all-time favorite authors is Tamora Pierce, and my favorites are her Protector of the Small quartet. It follows a third-culture kid becoming the first officially-approved female knight in a fantasy land in a few centuries, and of Pierce’s books set int this specific universe, this is the only series that ends with the main character not in a romantic relationship. But she has a circle of friends as well as mentors, and it’s a satisfying ending, and that doesn’t happen a lot in books I read.

Murderbot, which I’m clearly currently obsessed with, is full of platonic relationships. And I just started Avatar on Netflix and I’m only like 8 episodes in but I can just watch Sokka and Katara interact and be like “yup, siblings.”

I’m also often a sucker for hidden badasses. They seem so cute/nice/gentle/whatever, then suddenly OH they can ALSO kill you/control ghosts/invent miraculous tech.

Hello my bean 💛 I've got two intriguing questions for you today: 1) WHY you started writing? and 2) if you have to give another ending to Sunshine Soldier... what would you do? What other choices would you make? If you have to choose another love story, who would you choose for her?

WHY I started writing? 

So, I actually answered this question (sorta, kinda) to Jamie! But I can gladly do it again because there are many reasons why I decided to start writing. 

For me, writing has always just been a way where I feel I can really express myself for who I am. There’s other ways people express themselves, but for me I feel I really can express who I am through writing and simply just be myself in the writing. As someone who is naturally shy and quiet and doesn’t speak up much - just because I’m like that :) - speaking, or anything involving speaking - has never been a way to express myself - maybe just laughing at someones joke usually LOL but yeah, speaking is definitely not how I would normally express myself.

So discovering writing - writing what I want - was something where I could wholeheartedly just be myself - and I felt so lucky to have discovered writing like this. I can write what I want, make the characters I want, create a story or an entire universe that I want - and no one can change that. You’re your own author, and you create EVERYTHING. Even with simply a model - you are still the author creating this world, this story, a story you want. And that’s something I’ve always viewed as a writer as loving. Just creating a world that is not the sometimes chaotic world we live in, creating these characters that become like your own children, creating plot lines, doing research, being simply productive are just some of the things I have found to really love about writing. 

I have seen it help me in my school writing as well, for various reasons and for how I approach difficult tasks. Writing truly has just helped shaped me as a person I feel, where I know I don’t even need to say a word and I can go and put simply words on a page and create ART! Where I can go and create a work of art that people read and are fascinated by - that’s what I also love, as an artist myself. You are creating a work of art with words on a page - stringing words together into sentences and creating a possibly completely different universe in the manner of black and white words on a page. I just have always found that completely and utterly fascinating as a child who was a book lover and still is! 

Writing is such an art and my mom always says how so many people struggle with it and she always says the fact I am able to write like I do and such, just is such a gift for people. And I hope all of you out there know that. You hold such a gift - each and everyone of you - writer, reader, observer - you all hold a special gift. Whether it be writing, reading, dancing, singing, instrumental, cooking, handy-work, teaching, helping - ANYTHING - we all have gifts and for me writing has felt like such a gift and that’s just one of the reasons I have loved it as much as I have. Hold those gifts close - always!! <3

if you have to give another ending to Sunshine Soldier... what would you do? What other choices would you make? If you have to choose another love story, who would you choose for her?

OOOOOH! This is genuinely such an interesting and fascinating question because there actually was a different ending for Sunshine Soldier! A VERY DIFFERENT ENDING! 

When I first made Sunshine Soldier, I was just writing and going off the 10 episodes just for the fun of it, playing around, seeing where characters fit, basic things like that - with no real thought - just writing! A

And at some point or another, there were 3 other options that Charlotte ALMOST ended up with - before finding that Ronald Speirs was the PERFECT FIT for her!

There was Eugene Roe, Joe Liebgott and Skinny Sisk - but we eventually see that these are very much platonic relationships. 

Eugene Roe was initially the first decision, but I decided after a while, that they work VERY WELL together as simply medic partners, and sorta like platonic soulmates! They read each other well and they understand each other as well, in very important ways - such as difficult topics - like emotion, sadness, grief - things like that. But they worked better platonically - and are one of my favorite platonic relationships of the book!

Joe Liebgott was considered for a fleeting moment until I recognized the two were probably maybe a lil chaotic together and I went against it LOL. It was maybe for a solid week where I considered it, but they worked better, as well, platonically - the brother and sister sort of connection that I loved writing. Joe was really the first to see that vulnerable side of Charlotte, so I felt having them platonically connected - JUST LIKE THE REST OF THE GUYS HONESTLY - was a perfect fit. And by the end of the story I was like how did i ever put these two romantically together?? they’re just much better as individuals and platonic. But then I finally did get my Joe Liebgott relationship in The Soldier of Stars so it was ok - LOL. I always wanted to write a relationship for him!!

And Skinny Sisk - my favorite underrated boy actually - was who made it to almost being romantically linked to Charlotte - but I figured they were better platonically in the end, for me at least. Even though they had many major connections - putting them together platonically was for the better since I feel Charlotte had chemistry with Ronald Speirs more than anyone. But Skinny was definitely up there in the running, but eventually he became more of that brother figure - especially after he was evacuated in Bastogne - we see Charlotte really break seeing a figure like him leave. And plus him and Charlotte were close in age, so they sorta just clicked as like a best friend pair. But they had too much similar energy for me, for them to work! BUT I STILL LOVE THEM <3

But the love story was the only REAL change - everything else was basically the same for me! Just a different love interest, but in the end Ronald Speirs was the perfect choice for Charlotte simply because - ever since they met back in Toccoa on OP duty, there was sorta that instant chemistry of the no-judgement zone and this click if that makes sense! Charlotte and Speirs was definitely what I always wanted in the end of it all - and I couldn’t have been happier with the outcome of Sunshine Soldier. Plus her and Speirs are the cutest beebs so, I just had to.

AND ANOTHER THING WITH THEM...I was very much about making them individuals together before the REAL romance part started. By setting them int here invidiually with goals and power and motivation for themselves, they were able to work later in the story, simply because they were established - the relationship between the two was not the main plot - the main plot was the fact Charlotte became one of the best medics of Easy, sort of like the light of Easy or the sunshine of Easy Company - the relationship was always that sort of sub-plot to the end of it all, that little extra zest to keep everyone on the edge of their seats LOL <3

so after watching ODAAT s3 I noticed a lot of people thinking that Penelope x Schneider/Alvareider is dead in the water and/or that the writers “course corrected” and retroactively decided not to pursue it in the storyline, which was really surprising to me because I thought this season further cemented that the writers have been planning this from the start.

First: I genuinely think that Penelope and Schneider, as of at least the first two and a half seasons, are fully platonic. Their relationship has deepened and developed over the seasons, from comfortable acquaintances to best friends and confidants, but there were hang ups along the way to get to this point. Schneider has his obvious issues – he’s an addict, he grew up lonely and treated horribly by his father, and is often immature and lazy and frivolous because he can be – and Penelope is extremely goal-driven and focused on her immediate concerns (her family, career, money) while unable to commit to her relationships (Ben because she’s hung up on Victor, Max because she doesn’t want more kids, Mateo because she feels no spark or passion for him). Their relationship could never develop beyond friendship in season 1 because they are so focused on their needs that they don’t care to really get to know each other beyond the exterior, especially Penelope (who we know has a tendency to be a bit judgmental).

Even though Penelope cares about Schneider, we know she views him as immature, privileged, and lazy at times and it leads her to not see beyond that exterior, even when Schneider becomes her best friend and main confidant starting in season 2. She trusts him with her children, he visits her apartment almost daily, and turns to him when dealing with a crisis whether it’s with her romantic relationships, her family, and her own problems. In season 3, she continues to receive this support and acknowledges publicly that the person she turns to in a crisis, who helps her calm down and feel safe, is none other than Schneider. She doesn’t truly begin to understand him until season 3, when she meets his father and sees what he grew up with, and sees how Schneider threw away his relationship with his father because he valued her and her family more. She even lets out a breathless “Really, you didn’t have to do that” as if she can’t believe he would give up substantial financial gain for their sake. We also finally see her reciprocating the love and support Schneider gave her, and seems to actively take steps to be a more supportive figure in his life. It’s almost as if she doesn’t realize how important he is to her, and it’s something she won’t really feel until something major happens (Schneider moving in with Avery, a medical emergency, etc).

Schneider, on the other hand, knows he loves the Alvarezes and understands Penelope better than she realizes, but he doesn’t know his own worth and settles for so little because he doesn’t think he deserves better. He has explicitly said that he buys things to try and make him happy, that he sleeps with people as a substitute for addiction and affection, and has very little self-worth even through season 3. It’s not until Penelope tells him that she likes him just as he is – something he’s probably never heard before – that he stands up to his father and accepts that he shouldn’t want and doesn’t need his father’s approval. He hides his drinking from Penelope because he knows that she won’t trust him anymore, and by his own words she is the first person to truly trust him, ever. Unlike Penelope, Schneider knows how much Penelope means to him, and both of his major decisions over those two episodes (confronting his dad and hiding his relapse) are at least partly the result of his relationship with her. He then desperately seeks out Avery at the end of season 3 because he knows she is one person who cares about him in a romantic way and feels she understands him because of their shared quirkiness and familial wealth.

Until the end of season 3, there’s no feasible foundation for them to have a relationship because they are both wrapped up in their own issues and priorities to really see each other, but by the end of s3 this changes. Schneider, desperate for validation and romantic love after his relapse, is eager to be with Avery again because she is the first relationship he’s had that is genuinely loving and reciprocated. It’s hard to say if the relationship will turn out badly (we don’t actually know Avery very well, and the beginning of their relationship was dishonest on both ends, not to mention the relationship fractures quickly upon his relapse and only amends when he's a month sober) or lead to Schneider gaining self-confidence, but it will inevitably end and hopefully leave Schneider in a better place than he was. Penelope, on the other hand, finally accepts that she may never find a “great love” like her parents; maybe she’ll have many, or she may have none. But her subconscious is telling her not to accept less than what she wants, and makes her question what she’s looking for in the first place. It feels like Penelope, now single without any romantic prospects, is on the brink of seeing Schneider in a new way in season 4.

The realizations in the last episode follow on the heels of episode 11 and 12, which subtly – but directly – connect Penelope’s desires in a partner to her relationship with Schneider. In episode 11, Nicole tells her all the things she loves about Victor (also an addict) despite not being perfect: he makes her laugh, he makes her feel safe, she can’t imagine something bad happening to him, and she can’t picture her life without him. Penelope realizes, in this same episode, that she doesn’t want to be with Mateo just because he’s nice and easy to be with and it’s at the end that she discovers that Schneider has relapsed. One of the first things she says in the next episode is “I couldn’t sleep last night” because of Schneider’s relapse, and spends the entire episode solely focused on helping him. And all this happening immediately after her conversation with Nicole in episode 11 is incredibly pointed. Schneider is not perfect by any means, but he makes Penelope laugh and she enjoys being with him, he makes her feel safe when she’s in a crisis and is her go-to support, she loses sleep and panics at the thought of Schneider relapsing before she even knows it’s true, and – tying into Penelope not yet recognizing how important he is to her – she will soon realize that she can’t imagine her life without him.

Another thing to consider is the direct parallels and contrasts between Schneider and Penelope’s significant others. This post explains it all very well, but I’ll summarize briefly:

Schneider and Victor (S1)

Victor: exhibits toxic masculinity, little self-reflection, prioritizes his pride over even his family, struggles with trauma and addiction but won’t seek help

Schneider: does not exhibit toxic masculinity, is constantly self-reflecting on his behaviors and relationships, prioritizes other people over himself, and also struggles with (emotional) trauma and addiction and seeks help

Schneider and Ben (S1)

Ben: supports Penelope through Elena’s coming out, respectful of Penelope’s boundaries

Schneider: supports Penelope through Elena’s coming out, respectful of Penelope’s boundaries

Schneider and Max (s2)

Max: spends his time helping others (paramedic), is family-focused, is willing to have a casual relationship but wants more, earns the respect of Penelope’s family. Penelope breaks up with him because he wants children.

Schneider: spends his time helping others (the Alvarezes, his other tenants), is family-focused, is willing to have casual relationships but wants more, earns the respect of Penelope’s family. Tells Penelope that he’s “never thought about” having children while walking in with a cute baby, suggesting he really hasn’t thought about it or isn’t interested.

Schneider and Mateo (s3)

Mateo: friend of Penelope’s who she looks at differently upon seeing how they connect on superficial levels (Latino, overprotective, nice), Penelope breaks up with him because she realizes she doesn’t feel passionate about him

Schneider: dates someone upon seeing how they connect on superficial levels (”family money” rich, quirky and eccentric, understands his father’s world)

All these connections are not “stretches” by any means and the connections between Schneider and Max & Victor are the most direct, which is interesting considering they are both Penelope’s most passionate relationships.

So, yes, at the moment Penelope and Schneider are platonic – and truly see each other platonically – because they are not at the right point where they a) see the other person in that way and b) are both in the right place for that relationship to happen. Penelope, who is now single and has finally become a nurse practitioner, and Schneider, now developing self-worth through accepting his baggage and his first real relationship, are both primed to make some big realizations next season. My theory is that through Schneider’s relationship with Avery, he becomes self-confident and healthier, dropping many of his more harmful habits (excessive spending, obsessive ever-changing interests, laziness, over-eagerness to seek validation from other people) and will be able to deal with their inevitable break-up in a healthy way while maintaining his elevated self-worth. Penelope will note this change and start to see him differently; he’s not just her best friend and landlord, but someone she finds attractive as a partner and member of her family for all the qualities he already had but are now made clearer with his heightened self-worth. Schneider may not reciprocate initially; not because he doesn’t care about her or doesn’t have the capacity to (I wonder if, at some point, he ever had feelings for her and just shut them down for aforementioned reasons) but because he sees Penelope as unattainable and can’t see her being interested in him. By the end of season 4, we may see explicit confirmation and (hopefully) reciprocation on both sides, though I imagine it won’t immediately lead to a relationship.

Some final observations:

Another hint that Penelope will come to know Schneider better in s4 is the reveal of his first name – only to her, in an AA meeting she attends with him – when he introduces himself as Pat. To me, this foreshadows Penelope calling him by his real name in the future, which I feel will come with a significant change in their relationship.

They still haven’t said “I love you” in any context. Yes, Elena said “we love you” after Schneider relapsed, and Schneider clearly loves the Alvarezes, but they never say this directly to each other even though there have been many opportunities to. They have progressed in what they mean to each other (friends to best friends to “i’m here for you” and “you don’t have to do this alone”) and I get the feeling the show is saving this exchange for a Big Moment.

A lot of people are commenting on the “sister” comment Schneider makes about Penelope; I don’t put much stake in this for my aforementioned belief that they just aren’t in the right place yet to even consider each other romantically and Schneider not seeing Penelope as attainable but having no other label for their relationship. Plus, it was said as a joke.

I also don’t think Avery (or her being played by Todd Grinnel’s IRL wife) is a threat or shoots down the possibility of them getting together. IRL couples playing love interests is a common trope in sitcoms (for ex. Will Arnett played Amy Poehler’s date in an ep of Parks and Rec when they were still married), and I really think it’s inevitable that Avery and Schneider break up because this is his first real relationship and we don’t actually know Avery that well (a la Ben in s1), but their connection as we know it is somewhat superficial (they’re both rich, they’re both quirky, they both were disingenuous at first). Schneider NEEDS a healthy relationship like this before he would ever be able to date Penelope, because he still needs to take steps to learn what that kind of relationship is like as well as building his self-worth (as mentioned above).

The Valentine's day ep ends with Schneider and Penelope making strides with their significant others, but the blocking of the scene at the table shows them sitting next to each other, with Alex and Elena weirdly seated far apart with an empty space where a chair would be between them, the positioning not only blocking view of the SOs but clearly emphasizing Schneider and Penelope as the focal point of the frame.

There’s probably a lot more I could say on this (there really is a LOT of content supporting these two) but I’ll stop there. Of course, there’s no way to tell if the writers will pursue this (based on the groundwork over the show and specifically what is laid out in eps 3x9-3x13 I’d be...very confused if nothing comes out of this) but it is clear that regardless of if their relationship is romantic or platonic in the end we’re sure to see some major developments between them in s4 as we have in each season so far.

Mmmmmkay I have to rant about Nier: Automata for a bit; I accidentally triggered the end of the game (playthrough 2, ending B) last night and stayed up till 2:00 trying to finish the stupid “not allowed to save” phase. But y’aLL IT’S SO GOOD??????? AND 3RD PLAYTHROUGH ISN’T ANOTHER RE-RUN OF THE SAME STORY WE GET MORE STORY AAAAAAAAA

- OK SO THE MUSIC IS AMAZING??? I love LOVE that the music dynamics build in instruments and intensity as you progress towards danger/plot, but also softens again for quieter moments and just...musical storytelling is so sooooo my jam I love it. Also that the music goes 8 bit when 9S hacks stuff, it’s actually kinda cute X’D

- ON THE SUBJECT of 9S being able to hack into enemies and you getting to play that as a little teeny ship shooting down viruses and barriers and whatnot. Genius???? That added SO MUCG to the story on the second playthrough as 9S. Particularly discovering the fact that all of humanity?? Is actually extinct?? ...even BEFORE the aliens/machines attacked earth?? WH A T?????? WHAT THE HECK ARE ANDROIDS FIGHTING FOR THEN????? *every time an android salutes and says “glory to mankind” now* GLORY MY FOOT THEY ALL DEAD MOVE ON--

-  I realize it probably has alot to do with the lore of previous nier games and I’ll probably have to trawl through Wiki pages soon here. Emil himself really broke my heart aaaaaah baby...his side quest is so sad. I also looked at arts and he was a really cute kid?? Before he was turned int the freaky moon skeleton thing...?? Oh my goodness......

-  The secret lunar tear flower room is gorgeous. I just sat there for awhile to soak it all in...the music is so nostalgic and I’ve never heard that song bfore how do y’all DO THAT--

- Emil’s shop is pretty cute. He just drives around the ruins and sells stuff if you shoot him and he’ll stop X’’’D It did ruin alot of serious moments tho. *Engels, talking about how he’d sinned for killing so many androids and choosing death--* “S-A-L-E SAAAALLLEEE~~!! EVERY SALE’S A WIIIINNNNNN~~~~!!!! LALALaaaaaa~~~...” Me: *facepalm* 

- ...I just realized the little tune he sings is a cheerful rendition of the music in the flower room. H E C K

- ANYWAY. Onto the actual game. I really really enjoyed playing as 9S for obvious reasons (bABY) but it really did add so soooo much to the pretty much surface level story when you first play as 2B. Which sums them up pretty well...2B, Battle unit 2, pushes on relentlessly, avoids thinking too hard about things and what she’s doing because oh dear, EMOTION might get in the way...9S, Scanner unit 9, on the other hand, cannot stop his curiosity. He asks questions, he sticks his nose in way further than he should to some dangerous stuff. I think he realized Machines were sentient and had feelings long before 2B, but was in denial for a good while. You learn so much more about what you’re fighting as 9S, because he scans. He observes, searches, discovers. Heck, some hacking caused him to experience empathy for the poor things, to his horror...

- Actually, there are alot of scenes where either 2B or 9S questions why a machine they’re killing is screaming for help, of crying for lost family, or loudly proclaiming loyalty to a king they’ll give their lives for...they stop for a moment, but the other quickly jumps in and reminds them that it’s just imitation. It’s not real, it’s fake, machines can’t feel, yadda yadda...it was odd to me they kept switching off on reminding, but...I think they both know, deep down, what they’re doing. But denial. Because if machines DO have feelings, if they are sentient...what does that mean for all they’ve killed...? Just...hoo BOY the moral dellimas in this game?? Scary good. The quests get that across alot.

- I don’t like the theme of hopelessness in most of the side quests?? I do see many of them as cautionary tales though. We watch many characters lose hope and the will to live after their thing/person they’re living FOR is gone. It makes me worry alot about 2B, who is a soldier through and through. 9S actually does have hopes and dreams for things outside of the war, which I love ;7; they definitely lean on each other alot emotionally on this respect though...I don’t know quite what to make of the themes of the game this far in yet;;;; 

- The love between 9S and 2B is of course my favorite thing. Familial, romantic, idk. I, being me, see it as more platonic, “You’re my rock in this storm” only friend/sister/brother vibe, but as more of a fan of platonic relationships, that is what I tend to do. But 9s following 2B around like a lost puppy and trying to do all he can to help and do his job but also getting bored with said job and trying to make the most of things, asking all the “why” questions, 2B acting irritated but also always keeps him close and makes sure he’s safe....going ballistic when someone hurts her boy ;;v;; I love...2 kids. Their operators and pods are such fun dynamics too~~ 

- As far as endings A and B...DANG. It hit worse because you get backstory on the giant ocean machine (that 9S just hit with a giant missle, which he also had to ride to keep it on the right path...DX NO SELF PRESERVATION) he just...wanted his mama......;;A;;

- Also it’s not fair. 9S is so injured by that missle attack, then I guess Adam finds him and is like “HM. *sticks the lil boy impaled on a wall* Perfect. *proceeds to emotionally and mentally torture said child*“ like YO ADAM THAT’S NOT HOW YOU DO THINGS. Then 2B proceeds to kick down walls for her boy and kills Adam and walks off carrying 9S bridal style into the sunset. Lovely. I have a comic idea for this part, lol.

- Oh I don’t like Adan very much, he is pretty tho?? There was alot of blood though...how do machines bleed?? How do the androids bleed?? What??? I question this alot. 

- HHHHHHH THE BECOME AS GODS CHAPTER SCARED ME I DON’T EVER WANNA DO THAT AGAIN DANG SUICIDAL ROBOTS SCARED ME SO BAD

- Fighting Eve was...annoying but still heartbreaking. He misses his brother so much....even though Adam is a butthead and couldn’t care less he left his little brother behind DX just everything about that fight was Tragic. Also Eve developing more self awareness and realizing “Eve” is a girl’s name and being a bit miffed LOL that’s what y’all get when your first book is the bible kiddos...I realize they’re technically like what? 2 weeks old still???

- The ENDING. From 9S’s perspective is especially scary....the corruption transforming him, 2B coming in to kill him to stop the pain, he BEGGED her to, just....hhhhhhh babies ;;A;; 2B’s soft broken crying over him as she’s forced to strangle her only friend to death just aaaaaAAAAAAAA I DIE ;;;;;;;;~;;;;;;;;;

- I was actually able to cry over it this time coz. It was 2 am. No parent awkwardly watching over my shoulder. Because the pose for this scene is...........super awkward..........like......really........their clothes are super torn up and uh. The first time I was just hoping my parents wouldn’t mistake it for a sex scene or something hhhhhghhhhh;;;;;; I really really REALLY wish the pose was different, the game does need to give the fanservice a rest, at LEAST for a scene this serious DX I’m able to ignore it but when someone else is watching I don’t wanna have to explain;;;;

- That IS a big gripe I have with the game. The fanservice. Just. Why. How is 2B’s outfit practical?? Self destruct mode???? REALLY???? Get this girl battle shorts or something please.....I guess if I looked at it more as a ballet outfit?? I might make some edits when I draw her because GEEZ.

- 9S gets some of this too. Self destruct mode, his shorts are blown off???? WHAT THE HECK???? Welp, never using that again. also why is he the only yorha boy android??????????? X’’’’D They never explain that!!

- BACK TO ENDING STUFF why were there random data hologram girls standing there, watching 2B strangle 9S?? Just...silently there...they weren’t there in the first playthrough?? I’ve seen them a couple times but they’re NEVER mentioned?? WHAT ARE THEY-- is it a glitch?? Wha--

- Teeny 9S being able to dump his consciousness into a giant machine robot guy and cradling 2B in his hand ;;~;; he’s fine y’all I’m so GLAD (I wanna draw something for this scene.... I wanna draw alot of things) 

- I love Pascal. He should adopt all the sad people to his happy peace village. He already started that...what a good egg. 

- The accessories option is lovely. I’ve been running around with 9S with a blue bow in his hair forever now ;7; replaced with the flower in his hair because BOYS AND FLOWERS I LOVE but I think I might give the flower to 2B because she’d look lovely with it and....I miss the blue bow X’D

 - Also the AMOUNT of things this could line up with a KH universe....as far as how androids work, hearts (black boxes), memories making you...you, being able to transfer “hearts” to new bodies when the old is destroyed, POWER OF LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP...there’s alot. I dunno what to do with this info...

Anyway, I have alOT of thoughts and feelings on this game, it’s like...a very cool book. I’ve had trouble putting down. These aren’t even all of them but idk who I can actually rant to so here it is for the Void

I not a good writer and I don't really like travelling down memory lane but here I am, trying to write my bottled-up feelings for the girl I used to love, the girl who made me appreciate sunsets, and the girl who eventually became the reason why I hated watching it.

Second quarter of 2018, i met this timid girl in the second floor of UPV CAS building. I cannot remember the details of how and when i first saw her. All i know is that she was also a math bridger like me and her classroom is in front of mine.

At first, I didn't pay enough attention to her because i was busy trying to figure out how to survive the next 4 years in UP. I was just minding my own business; i told myself that i am in UP to study and to be jn a relationship would certainly put me in a dangerous position. But i guess destiny like to play sick jokes on us. We became roommates and eventually we became close.

(Fast forward coz i don't really like delving into useless information.)

Yeah, again. We became roommates, then became friends. But during that time, she was with another girl. my intuition said that there is something going on between them and it would be immoral if i try to pry on their lives, more so if i try to make a move on her. I don't really like the idea of stealing another person's woman so i just let them be. I focused my time and attention to my acads, my life as a varsity (basketball), and my friends.

Everything was going fine - my acads, varsity life, our friendship, perhaps literally everything. Until one September night when i noticed that something's wrong with her. She was not smiling like she used to (with the girl around), she was not eating well, she was not functioning, etc. So i asked her what's wrong. Then I don't know. Everything in between is a blur, all i can remember is that I asked her if she wanted to walk with me to the dorm area to buy some food (at 9 in the evening!!!). There, she started opening up about things that she's been bottling up inside.

As a person who has a messianic complex, i decided to save her. I decided to be with her, not as someone who wants a romantic relationship, but someone who just wants to offer a shoulder to lean on. Weeks have passed and our friendship became deeper. She gradually opened up to me about her feelings and about what happened, and what i did was i read her like an open book. I understood everything and i really wanted to fix her. i really wanted to be with her, i really wanted to show her that she didn't deserve an ounce of how that other girl treated her (yeah, it's my messianic again).

The platonic feelings that i had for her gradually turned into a romantic one. I made myself available to her everytime she needed me, i was always one call, chat or text away (i even reply to her even when i am playing mobile legends lol), because that's what you do when you love someone, right? You prioritize them and their needs. Haha! I did that with the hope that she would notice everything and would eventually fall in love with me. I was really careful with how i treated her, i was really careful not to overwhelm her considering that she was just recovering from a major heartbreak.

I played the guitar for her, we had breakfast lunch and dinner together, we literally slept in her bunk bed, we walked from CAS back to our apartment together, and we loved going to the beach to watch sunsets every afternoon if i didn't have basketball training sessions. Damn. The things we do when we are in love, right? 😆 I loved her that much that i learned to manage my time wisely.

But, oh well. Despite it all, i knew in my heart that i didn't have the chance. She won't be mine even if i pour everything in me just to get her, but still, i gambled and did it anyway ( Oh diba, bobo natin sa part na yon? 😅).

Months have passed, from September that was almost magical for me, to October and November, our communication began to go south. Perhaps she noticed my intentions or she was confused with what i was doing, so yeah. She kind of became distant. Until a cold december night. If my memory serves me right, that was December 13, 2018 when everything between us ended.

She brought me to the beach and well, she dropped the bomb - "ano imo nabatyagan para sa akon?" I was not shocked because i already saw it coming. Haha i hate it because my intuition is always right. I told her, can we skip thst question? I really don't want to answer that so can we just go home instead? Of course, she did not stop until i gave in. I told her that i liked her from the moment i first saw her on the hallway of CAS and then that i loved her since September of the same year. I was really looking forward to a positive response, but i got was silence. Dead silence. Until she said that i was like a best friend to her, thst she just got out of a bad relationship etc. And i understood. I really did. Well, she went home after that while i went to my friend's bh to drink.

The morning after that, she cut off all our communication, everything between us. I respected her decision because i thought she was just trying to figure everything out. I, on the other hand, tried to forget everything through drinking, smoking, and spending my time playing basketball. Days, weeks, have passed and still nothing. Day came when her mom fetched her from our apartment. Her mom even texted me thst i should join them for lunch and after that they'll drop me at the bus terminal. That time i was hoping that she'll talk to me, but instead, all i got was a piece of paper on her bed with the note thst says "what a waste, all the pictures we took and the plans we made" (di naman masaket. Haha konti lsng naman mga plans namin e, mga 100+). I really hate how observant i am and how curious i am of things in my surroundings. I never should have picked up and read that paper (i knew that the only thing ill get was EMOTIONAL DAMAGE 😅) but i still did it anyway (dumb bitch haha)

There are a lot of things that i wanted to say to her, things that i should've said thst cold December night. But perhaps it was a good choice that i held on to it. I really did not want to rub salt on the open wound so yeah. Haha. Let me make 1 thing clear: it's not her fault, its mine.

Our hearts choose to love someone who we know deep inside us will never be ours. We gamble a lot on it with the hope that it'll be reciprocated one day. It happens, sometimes. But as for me, it's not the case. I told her i loved her but she didn't feel the same way, snd that's perfectly fine. I have no regrets over that matter, what i regret the most is letting her slip away from my hands without putting up a fight. I didn't talk to her, instead i let destiny dictate things between us.

Or perhaps it was just the right thing to do. Now, i wish nothing more but to see her smiling again just like how she used to, or maybe more. I am happy for her thst she finally found someone who will make her feel loved and happy. I wish her nothing but happiness in this world because i am damn sure that she deserves it.

As for me, i am still healing. But i am starting to fall in love with sunsets once again. This time, i dont associate it with her (although the memories remain in my heart and in my mind), i associate it with new beginnings.

I’m a Larry shipper, right? Why am i disappointed at the fandom, after coming back to it... +What even is Larry? + How can we save the ship

I was going through tumblr and came across some posts by anti’s 

First of all I want to clarify that I DONT hate Eleanor, I actually used to stan her a bit. I had these blogs about her and made a page saying We ship happiness or something with Elounor as avatar. I follow her on all my social media. Even if people say she’s untalented. She graduated Uni plus has a good sense of fashion so eh let’s forget that “beard” stuff. Let me live!

So why do we ship Larry. You have multiple types:

The O.G’s: They have been here since the first 2 years, anywhere between x factor days and 2012. They saw how close H+L were and started shipping them, probably from videos like this:

Be it platonically or romantically, they just thought they were cute together and loved seeing them interact and mess around. Right now they have either moved on from it all or are still here, using past moments as ‘proof’ or just still love their relationship, be it platonically or romantically. A lot use old blog posts and videos as a way to convince the newer generation that Larry was and is something, they promote their friendship mainly . Again, not all of them make up theories and see every moment as proof. 

It is also quite obvious that since a lot of em are a bit older, that they ship Larry without being too annoying. That doesn’t count for everyone however...

New Gen. 2013-2015: These shippers either found out about 1D a bit later or just found out about Larry. They have watched countless proof videos and are convinced that H+L are together. By doing so much research they’ve learned a lot about Larry. They probably use the dug up moments and posts from the OG’s as a way to convince others that Larry is real or at least tell them about the ship.

1) So you have the shippers who DEFINITELY ship it and are 99.9% convinced it’s real and even when they start to doubt it they watch a lot of videos to re-convince themselves it’s real. They are often found analysing everything H+L do. 

1.5) Some even go so far as to hate on the GF’s, and sometimes they don’t even realise they are doing it. Traits: Call the GF’s names, try ‘their best’ to not disclose who they are talking about but do a terrible job at it (E.G “E is such a bitch, I don’t like her, neither do I like Br, ew!”), hate on the GF’s without reason (E.G. They see a picture of said GF and rant about how terrible they are, without good motives.), automatically dislike any woman who get’s associated with H or L, especially when the media reports they are rumoured to be dating. Even if it’s just an interviewer, a family member/friend, or a celebrity that H/L admire/look up to/respect/befriended. Ahem.

Apparently that is what people call, ‘a Larrie’.

2) You also have the shippers who mainly love their friendship. They’re okay with whatever as long as the two are happy and have a healthy friendship. They want them to interact more but don’t want to force the shipping thing. They don’t really research and dig a lot. They just admire and support from a distance.

They’re usually new to it, and chose not to fall into the rabbit-hole of Larry, maybe a friend introduced them to it, or just have other OTP’s and don’t really want to pay too much attention to Larry.

3) You have the people who are right in between. They would LOVE it if the two were together but aren’t mad at the fact they might just simply be friends. They like the concept of them dating, they might love Larry videos, make or love fanart, read or write fanfics. That in my opinion is the true definition of shipping, just loving the concept and idea of two people being together, having the opinion that they fit together. Nothing else! They want to think it’s real, but don’t force it. They always rethink what is proof and what is not. Always try to find a logical answer and are not afraid to deny said ‘proof’ but also on the other hand, try their best to convince others that there was something going on between them and possibly still is. E.G. they tell people stories about the past, show them footage, but do not want to force the people to believe it’s real. They don’t try to indoctrinate them. They just want to share the ship...

It’s probably quite obvious i am that one^ 

So let’s see. People started shipping it cause they were always so close. And the others knew, they saw. They lowkey shipped it. The looks they gave the two, the “You two are so cute!” ~Niall, when Harry said his valentine was Louis. the ‘You two are together, aren’t you?” by Liam, the “When was the last time you kissed a girl?” ~int “When was the last time you liked it?” ~ Liam. Niall’s looks and smirks at the two. The boys teased them about it a lot and it was all fun!

There were even people who asked them if they were dating, and when Louis was going to propose to Harry. And did they mind? No! Because even if half of the people who shipped them were kind of convinced they were going out, the two still played along, made jokes about it and fed the shippers. They loved to see the shippers reaction, they chose to queer 1D, despite the rumours and jealous guys trying to hate on 1D, calling them stupid names.

Korean boybands can do this... why can’t Larry? And you know that Kpop management companies are a lot like Modest... Even worse sometimes, you know that South Korea isn’t nearly as open to the LGBT as the west. YET THEY GET AWAY WITH IT!!!

People wrote fanfics, made fanart, made compilation videos(Larry moments), it was okay!

But then stuff started changing. Even when Louis said he had a GF, the two were seen acting in a way that made it seem he did not have a GF at all, similar to how they were right when Louis’ relationship with Hannah ended. Sometimes even worse. People loved it! JOKING that GF was hired! But there were people who took it TOO FAR! They hated on the girl, sent her hate, tried to sabotage their relationship. Louis didn’t like it. 

Now to back paddle a bit. Yes it was quite obvious Harry did like Louis to an extent. And Louis didn’t mind. He was there for the boy. Cared for him like his little brother, as a best friend. People thought Louis was gay cause he was quite flamboyant, well what do you get after growing up with so many sisters? Plus, have you seen him when he was a teen? I used to follow him on Bebo. He had girlfriends, and they were real. Now, not saying they’re 100% straight either, chill down, people. 

I guess through the years, Louis actually started to like Harry too. Maybe? No? Okay! but there was definitely some man love going on, as H+L friend would say. More fuel for the shippers.

To that point it was okay. But to resume what I started to say about the GF. People turned into pricks! Even IF the GF was hired, which i don’t want to comment on, sending hate to her went too far. We don’t need that kind of negativity in our fandom. It broke us apart! It made us all less close... 

Fast forward a bit and we are in the “She’s my girlfriend, People genuinely think me and Harry are together!” era! The two started getting less close. Presumably because they caught on. Louis found out about the hate, obviously. He thought that minimising the touchiness with Harry would make things less complicated. But it made it worse cause people found out. By now you have two sides. The side which realised what they were doing and is even more convinced that GF is fake, cause ahaha why would he do that to his poor Hazza if Modest! didn’t tell him to? And the side who started to believe in Louis+GF more. By now you know I’m talking about Eleanor but yeah.

So you can either believe Modest was there from the start and hired Eleanor, (who had a friend who worked at Modest) Because Modest didn’t like the idea of two guys being in a relationship going public, having her be the muse, the lover, the topic of the songs, or that Modest started interfering when they found out about the rumours getting worse.

The latter can mean that Larry was nothing more than a Bromance (or a one sided love cause Harry liked Louis, it was mutual but they stayed friends for the benefit of... being friends. You almost can’t deny that and if you do then i guess it was just a theory) and when the rumours went overboard, Modest took action and told them to stop being so touchy feely.

Harry for example, only get’s rumoured to be dating someone,he get’s papped hanging around a girl and the second it gets out, new articles start to sprout out of nowhere, and whenever things do get “confirmed” they never end well or last as long as Elounor did.They are mostly high profile people. He’s been getting labeled as a womaniser since pretty much the start of their career. That somewhat correlated with Larry since the womaniser image got people to not believe in the HxL rumours too seriously.  

I made a rant about that in 2012 but it was super messy so i’m not going to go into that.

Either way, them being less close made people even more suspicious and to this day, even after them awkwardly denying rumours, even after Zayn saying it is not real. People believe they are together. Why? cause proof videos. I believe that if you are a true anti, you should at least dare to watch the 30 most iconic Larry moments, and if after all that you still stand by your opinion, then respect to you. 

There were far too many suspicious moments. Even if half of what they were trying to do was  a joke. You can not deny that they really loved each other. And something ruined it. 

The thing about their management company glaring at them or giving signs of approval whenever they do something wrong, or the thing about them giving signals not to answer a question is not made up. There is actual footage of them looking behind the camera and the interviewer saying they have to either stop an interview or saying they are not allowed to ask that. 

So why would the management company do such a thing when it is so obvious that the fans really like shipping the two boys?

The reason is because, even if the fans have no problem with it, others do. Outsiders do. A lot of celebrities don’t get permitted to come out. They have to act a certain way and get introduced to girls they have to date for a month or two, sometimes even years. With every generation you have a group of people who completely despise the concept of gay relationships. 

Now there are some groups and artists who’ve come out and are doing perfectly fine. But if you have as big as an audience as One Direction, things become more problematic. It is not only the fact that hundreds of girls who feel they have a chance with the boys or are raised not to approve of anything that has to do with the LGBTQ+ (so they grew up with homophobic parents) pretty much get a slap to the face. It’s that they will get so much attention that all the homophobic people in the world, potentially people who can influence a big group of people, will possibly start to hate on them, all these kids who are unfortunate enough to have closed minded parents will not be allowed to listen to the boys anymore. Their entire image will have a massive switch.

Now that they are solo, they have far more time to focus on themselves. Time to reshape and tweak their public image, time and space to show the world who they really are. They are breaking free from the bubble gum pop bubble. They are free to do whatever they want

When they first got put together, people started to say stuff like “One Direction is gay” Using ‘gay’ as an insult just to seem cool cause people thought that liking One Direction was shameful. Especially because of the often obnoxious fans. People simply did not want to be associated with them. But One Direction grew!

I don’t see them coming out any time soon. At this point i am not even sure if they are still together. Especially with the recent events regarding Louis.

I want to say that when Louis and Eleanor first started dating, it was quite awkward, but their relationship started looking realer as time passed by.  This time, it just does not at all. Not judging her, i love her. It’s just strange. She got back with someone who “cheated” on her and has a kid with someone else, you’d expect her to ask her boyfriend to do a paternity test. But that is their thing. They can do whatever they want.

Also regarding recent events. Harry seems to be so much more free. He’s swinging and waving around LGBT flags and is being more flamboyant than ever. 

Flashback to a couple of years ago when the boy said he liked girls, didn’t like nail polish or make up, and talked about girls. The boys kept mentioning he’s changed. They of all people would understand what exactly changed. 

Now about Louis.

That is just weird. Moving on.

I believe that we should all just chill and stop the negativity, I didn’t want to believe the misogyny until someone pointed it out to me, don’t get me wrong, i did see it before, but when I came back to this fandom I didn’t think it would be so much worse. 

Theories get annoying unless there is proof, in my opinion you can do whatever you like with them, as long as you are aware that your theory might be false/debunkable! 

You can ship it as much as you want but DON’T send hate to the GF’s, like, if you ship Larry, why waste time on them in the first place?

Maybe if we all stop commenting Larry on everything we see, maybe then they will come back as close as they were before. Cause it was quite prominent that Harry was saddened by it. They have good and bad memories from the ship. 

Just please guys, Larry is fun and i love it, but what I don’t like is all these “shippers” who point at Larry and management, everytime something happens between the two.

But I also don’t like people who attack the shippers, without listening to them first, stand in each others shoes, try to understand each other and why the other person thinks a certain way, step out of your own shoes for once ahaha. We’ll get to understand each other more that way. WE ALL HAVE TO HAVE AN OPEN MIND!!!

Louis said this:

“My main hope for the future is that we all remain best friends throughout everything. I would hate it if anything ‘affected?’ our friendships.”

Sadly something did happen, we have two years to fix things. Maybe i’m just crazy cause i miss the good old days. But let’s at least consider it.

Can we make a plan? Start shipping Larry the way we did in 2011. Just secretly. Let’s not go overboard and theorise everything. Even if it is just for a couple of months. Let’s focus on the friendship! Make them believe we have moved on and know it’s just friendship. I really want to focus on that the next couple of years. 

I call it the Larry Reset! Hopefully now there won’t be an article to come out which says “Larry shippers have moved on and have accepted that Larry was a Bromance. Want it back the way it was.” Actually tbh let that happen!
