okay but here's why the old therebefore scene in the movie matters to me so much.

lucy gray thought she won, and then then snakes came after and they kept coming. any hope of winning was dwindling rapidly after seeing what they did to the other tributes.

so she decides to do what she does best. she sings.

that was lucy gray's final fuck you, her swan song, this was her going out with dignity. the capitol did not get to change her. they will not get that luxury. they will not get that satisfaction.

and then she sees that they won't hurt her, and she decides to show the capitol just how much power a measly district 12 girl can wield, so she sings straight into that camera. she reminds them of WHAT they are trying to quell. they are not the master of her fate.

Real version is on the left (Felix) and alternate version is on the right (Red Felix). I LOVEEEEEE that when you talk to Bel in Mataan she asks if you are Red or Red Felix, that's just such a small detail that gives so much ownership to the player omg.

I cannot express how unbelievably happy this game makes me as someone who grew up playing jsrf. This is everything I could possibly want in a modern adaptation :').
