Good Morning! Super excited for these next set of eps to review.

We’ve reached the iconic and pivotal DOD eps. I’m nervously excited to review these. I want to do them justice. They are momentous for not just Chenford but the entire series. Rosalind Dyer is one of my fav recurring baddies. I loved Annie from Castle as well. Was psyched she would be joining The Rookie. This was a rare one where I got to use all the gifs I wanted to. Yay. Kid in a Chenford candy store haha Thank you to all the wonderful gif makers out there. You are the real MVP's. Let’s get this started :)

2x10 The Dark Side

We start with Lucy and the guys out for a post work drink. Armstrong is there as well. They’re talking about Jackson dating a celebrity. Asking how that is? Lucy says they’re happy if he’s happy. Nick calls her bluff and says ‘Liar.’ LMAO Lucy cracks and says men suck ha They sure can. That the single men in LA suck. That whenever they find out she’s a cop they freak out. (To touch on not dating a cop bit. It is only a mistake when it’s not Tim. Let’s be real.) Especially while she's still a rookie just not a good idea (cough Nolan cough) He was never a good decision though....not even a little bit. I'll die on that hill haha

Armstrong joins the convo and comes in with some solid advice. ‘Those aren’t men they’re boys. Real men are not afraid of a strong woman.’ Your real man just isn’t ready yet my dear. Nor are you. I really love this scene though. I enjoyed Nick a lot as a character. Poor Lucy she goes on her 'Sister Officer Lucy Chen' rant ha Classic. Oh the irony of this convo. In S5 she definitely isn't in a nunnery anymore heh. That is quite awhile away from this point though. Have to note how pretty she looks in this scene. Her outfit is simple but she looks stunning.

Lucy leaves the table to get another round. That’s when Lucy runs into Caleb….really unfortunate that’s his name. That’s my BIL's name haha He seems normal enough with his flirting with Lucy. Both of them being ignored for another drink by the bartender. He's making her laugh and appearing nice and kind. Ugh run Lucy run…Their moment gets interrupted by Lucy noticing a guy stealing tips. She walks away from the convo and apologizes. End ups arresting the thief. The way she takes him down is bad ass I have to say. (Tim would be proud) Says 'Surprise I’m a cop’ haha

Roll call comes around and they find out about Rosalind Dyer. A rare unicorn in their world. A female serial killer. She’s agreed to show them the 3 bodies that were never found. In exchange she gets life with no parole instead of the death penalty. Everyone’s day is now centered around this. Tim and Lucy discuss her past murders. Lucy telling Tim she was in college when they found the first victims.

That it was all anyone could talk about, wondering how a woman could be so barbaric? Tim shares his own story about it. How he worked a scene for the 4th victim. That he was advised not to look at the body. How he wish he hadn’t… The hindsight of watching this scene unfold right before they run into Caleb. It’s bone chilling to think about. Their convo being framed around this before he shows up.

Caleb shows up and Tim is immediately suspicious and does not like this guy. His face has me rolling the entire time. Gives Caleb a hard time about the word 'Perp'. His facial expressions I can not LOL Now part of this reaction is his cop gut. I truly believe that. Not trusting whoever this guy is for Lucy. His default is suspicion. The fierce protector coming out to play in this scene.

I think the rest of his reaction is him just not liking this guy being interested in Lucy. Jealously thy name is Timothy Bradford. Its seeping out of him and he can't stop himself. He's completely forgotten he's dating one of her closest friends in this moment. Written all over his face how territorial he’s being right now. I always love me some protective/jealous Tim. This scene and honestly this entire episode is full of that.

Lucy’s face is screaming ‘chill out’ the entire interaction. She's basically scolding him with her eyes above. They have a mini silent conversation with their eyes before the scene continues. If that isn't the most married look they've had so far. I love it so much. He definitely looks reprimanded in that second gif above. Tim is as transparent as person can be in this scene. Not even trying to hide it a little bit. Caleb has shown up and Tim's guard and protective nature are out in full force. Doesn't like this guy just showing up and sniffing around at all.

Caleb is clearly nervous around Tim (as he should be..) It's too funny he keeps trying regardless to talk to Lucy. Tim deftly snags the paper out of the air. She didn't have a chance of grabbing it. Caleb has to sense how much Tim doesn't want him here. He could not be less welcoming of this man. Tim reads the paper and he asks if Caleb has a last name LOL He says Wright. The irony of that last name...

I doubt our boy even knows why he’s reacting this way to Caleb. Only that he is and very strongly at that. All his feelings when it comes to Lucy are muddled and confusing for him. Yet he acts on them anyway. From the moment this guy showed up the green eyed monster was present. Tim continues to grill him. He asks what he does for a living? Says if it’s a screenwriter he’s going in a cell. He really hates screenwriters haha A theme through out the show for him.

Eric’s facial expressions during this entire scene truly is perfection. Look at the way he looks at Caleb as he leaves. If looks could kill he would be a dead man. Also you can see the mask on Caleb drop when he turns away from them (shudder). The immense distrust written all over Tim's rigid body language. You'd have to be blind not to see it. Both of their faces above are a summary of the entire scene. Lucy is happy to have caught the eye of a 'decent' guy. Tim doesn't trust this guy as far as he can throw him.

Tim doesn’t even think he’s done anything wrong till he turns around and sees her face. Kudos to Melissa for the great reaction. He says 'What?' All innocent like he didn't just drag that guy through the mud. Treat him like a criminal they deal with on the daily. She is so affronted and honestly confused as hell with his reaction. Her face basically saying 'What the hell was that?'

From the moment Caleb shows up to the moment he leaves Tim is NOT pleased with his presence. Lucy is truly confused as to why he is acting this way. She can’t put together why he was trying to kill that entire interaction. We all know Lucy included (deep down) this was jealously thorough and through. But she chalks it up to him being stressed about how crazy everything is right now. Sure that’s it Lucy…She demands the paper back with just her face and outreached hand. Tim is shocked she wants the number of this doofus. He relents and unwillingly hands it back to her. Almost rolling his eyes as he does so.

They’re driving in a caravan to the first burial site. Lucy is looking at Calebs online profile in the car. Tim snaps at her to focus. That this is going to be most dangerous day she’s ever going to spend on the job. Oh the weight of that comment when you know these eps….They both have no idea how true that’s going to be. Might seem like he’s mad when really he’s protecting her by getting her to focus. It’s his way of doing it. I also think it's a little frustration bleeding over from the whole Caleb thing. Not that he's going to put that together right now. Hell doesn't even realize how territorial and jealous he just was.

We rejoin Tim and Lucy once they arrive at the first spot. They're talking about Rosalind during this 'Hike' to find the remaining bodies. Tim asks if she’s less scary in the light of day? Lucy tells him no…but mentions how smart she must be. To have gotten away with this for so long undetected. Lucy smartly mentions there’s a play here they’re not seeing.

Tim tells her it’s just to jerk them around. Oh my love it is far more than that. Lucy is so sharp to observe this hike has to be more than just her deal. She is proven right when they find a fresher body in one of the grave sites with the old one. It’s obvious she has a partner on the outside they just don’t know who…

Lucy is looking at Caleb’s “profile” again. Watching a video of him with a puppy. Jealous/Protective Tim makes his next appearance. Could not be more obvious if he tried. Not a fan of her being enamored by this guy. He makes a snide remark saying I bet that’s not even his puppy. It’s scary how spot on he was with Caleb the entire time. It’s mainly from jealously and being protective of her, but it’s frightening how dead on his cop gut was. He turned out to right about everything with him.

Lucy naturally gives him push back and says she just wants to enjoy a cute puppy. That it’s been an awful day. Can't she just do that? Jealous Tim won't agree with her. So he is a little shit and says 'This your first decomp right? ' Watching her face go from happy to grossed out LOL Oh Tim. He knows how bad this smell is going to be for her and is enjoying it haha The way she follows after him is too funny. Melissa is also amazing at expressing so much as well.

The eerie part of this scene is it’s them being the ones to discover the DOD tattoo… There are so many forewarnings in this episode for her. For them. Literally smacking us in the face with them. That could’ve been her if things had gone wrong... Ugh my heart. They find out the newer victim was suffocated…What an awful way to die. I’m asthmatic and it gives me a pre-asthma attack just thinking about it.

A light hearted part of this scene is once again the lack of personal space. Ah personal space. They don't know her and never will. We're all ok with this notion. Nolan ends up getting Rosalind to lead them to the second site. They find a new body in it with a DOD Tattoo. The freshest one yet. They realize it’s every three months. That 12/09/19 is the the next DOD. John notes it’s 12/08 they have a day to find the next victim.

Tim and Lucy join Armstrong at the jail to search Rosalind cell once again. Trying to find some connection. A way her and this person have been communicating. Nick asks where her books are and they say they sent them back. He asks for every book she's read in the last 6 months.

They’re searching all the books and of course Lucy is the one to crack the code. I love it. Finds something in the binding. Its a coded piece of paper. She figures out the cypher fairly quickly. You know Tim loves how damn smart she is. He’s impressed. She figures out a name from the code. My girl. Bryan Coleman. Funny that doesn’t sound like Caleb Wright….

Harper and Nolan end up saving the next girl. They find out he’s been using the old abandoned zoo as his staging ground. What kills me is them saving her condemns Lucy. They stopped him from scratching that sick itch. Grey tells them all to go home and rest. Lucy spins around and tells Tim she’s just going to go home and crash.

Tim tells her that’s a mistake and gives her the advice that will haunt him in the next episode. Hell for quite awhile if I’m being honest. He will carry this moment with him for a long time. Says after a hardcore assignment she needs to blow off some steam. Find a way to decompress. If she doesn’t she’ll never get any sleep.

Lucy is super cute asking if he's really telling her to go get a drink instead? He tells her yes. Preferably a strong one even with another human being. We all know who that human being is going to be….Side note I adore the fact that he always opens the door for her. Doesn't even realize he's doing that. Just does it out of habit. Her real man standing right in front of her but it is far too early for that hehe

Literally makes me sick to watch her scene with Caleb. My skin crawls knowing where it’s headed. He took advantage of Lucy with her guard down. Her cop eyes we're retired for the night. Just trying to decompress. We go back to the station where Grey tells John and Nick they found a body at the old zoo. Bryan Coleman. Which can only mean one thing as we go back to Lucy. That Caleb is the apprentice….

She goes from giggly and relaxed to sheer terror in a matter of moments. He drugged her and Lucy is slowly realizing the situation she is now in. He also snags her phone before she can use it. Sadly she is over powered easily due the drug he gave her. Then sticks her in the trunk of his car. The ep ends there.

It’s a crazy stressful two-parter. So damn good though. I remember when this first premiered how hard it was to wait for the next episode. I’m pre emotional just thinking about analyzing the next episode. Can’t wait to do it though.

Side Notes-Non Chenford

Wopez good scenes not many but really good. Wes clearing not handling his post traumatic stress well. Mixing his prescription with alcohol. Angela coming home asking if he was trying to kill himself. He says I don’t know… Not a great answer bud.

The whole Rosalind SL. It’s so dark but so good. Getting a deeper look into Nick and seeing some chinks in his armor. What he sacrificed to catch her. It’s very good. I enjoyed his character a lot and getting more depth with him as well.

Thank you as always to those that like/comment/reblog these reviews. It’s means the world to me. I love doing these and they take time to assemble. But they’re so worth doing to enjoy this rewatch together. I’m also enjoying the hell out of analyzing these eps and our beloved couple. I’ll see you all in 2x11 :)

In Defense of Wedding Plan....or Lom, more specifically...

So, I actually don't see a lot of discourse on here about Wedding Plan...maybe I just haven't been on here as much. But also, there are a lot of deeper shows on at the moment that are tackling more ethereal ideas and Wedding Plan is more pulp-y romcom than anything else, so it's not necessarily ripe for deep discussion. But on tiktok where I'm fairly active in the BL community I have seen so much hate on this show. And I understand certain levels of frustration about the choice of storyline, but I also get frustrated because I feel like people are purposely disregarding several things.

(Editors note from right before I post this, I was going to add visuals, but I'm too emotionally exhausted now, so you'll just have to settle for the wall of text.)

I agree that it's not good, or right, or acceptable for Lom to have lied to Nuea. But there's been behavior that acts as though Lom is cheating...he's not in a romantic relationship with Yiwa!! He can't cheat on her. And yes, it does lead Nuea to believe he's at least attempting to cheat, but that's not the same. I recognize that Nuea would not feel great about his feelings towards Lom, both because of their professional relationship and what he is assuming about Lom and Yiwa's private relationship. But that's also a nuanced discussion in and of itself because Nuea knows there's something fishy going on with Lom's engagement. He doesn't know what, but he definitely suspects, I think from as early as episode 2. They go out of their way to set up in episode one his sort of sixth sense about couples with that McDonald's scene. Their intention is for us to see how observant Nuea is.

And watching this most recent episode (episode 6) as soon as Lom revealed that he fell for Nuea at Pai's wedding and said that he watched him, I knew that the comments were going to be out of pocket. It is not weird or stalker-ish to see a person that you find attractive out in the wild and look at them or watch them. That's straight up normal. I have done that. Now do I truly believe it was love at first sight? No, because I don't think you can love a person without knowing them, but this is also romantic fiction and love at first sight is literally the most common trope there is. It's also not weird or gross or stalker-ish for him to get Nuea's company contact info from Pai. If you like someone and you know that your friend has their contact info...asking them is not weird. I'd maybe be a bit iffy on a direct phone number, but a insta or snapchat name, a Line ID, that's not sus...like at all. He didn't hand over Nuea's personal address or something. And let's also remember that Prapai KNOWS Lom. They are friends. He knows that Lom is not a dangerous person, he doesn't pose harm to Nuea.

I'd also like to discuss episode 4/5...the first NC scene. I keep seeing comments about dubious consent or lack of consent altogether, and while I can agree with dubious...it's on Lom's part. When you watch the end of episode 4, Nuea isn't drunk. Like we're not given a clear shot of the table, but you see Lom with 3 empty beer glasses and drinking a 4th when Nuea shows up. Nuea you only see drink one, out of a short, mixed drink style glass, one you'd have like a Rum & Coke in, and the beverage is clear with a lemon wedge, so it's not even clear if it's alcoholic. But even if it was there are 3 total glasses like it on the table, so assuming Nuea drank all three, he'd have had to take them all back to back to back in order to be wasted after that. But beyond the context clues, his behavior does not indicate inebriation at all. He's steady on his feet, he's not slurring, there are no acting choices made that would lead one to believe he's drunk.

The fallout that comes for Nuea after that night isn't because of concerns about consent issues. It's about reconciling a destructive decision. People make bad choices all the time. They'll get caught up in an emotion, an idea, a person, and they'll do something without truly thinking about the consequences. And eventually it's morning and you have to accept the choice you made. Is it heartbreaking to watch that with Nuea? Absolutely. I cried at that scene. Pak did such an amazing job. And Nuea isn't the only one who suffers from that emotional fallout. We see the fear and distress on Lom's face when he wakes up and Nuea is gone. You can see his distress when talking to Nuea's boss. He tries to pull the rich guy privilege BS (which I will absolutely admit I hated), but she's not falling for it. After the boss learns everything, she gives Lom the contact info for Nuea's family, which again pissed a lot of people off. But again, it's not direct contact or access to him. She also knows that Nuea is in a place where he is safe and has a support system around him. Also Lom, while not a super clear thinking dude in that moment, is not a freaking serial killer and Nuea's boss is not an imbecile. She didn't just cave to Lom's puppydog eyes, and it feels kind of dismissive to me for people to act like she did.

So many people were upset that he followed Nuea to Chiang Mai...like...it's the same argument we heard about Pai for several episodes. If those things don't happen, there's no fucking show. If Lom stays in Bangkok and Nuea stays in Chiang Mai until the wedding has happened then the story just ends. And if you feel like there's no redemption for Lom after withholding the full truth from Nuea... why are you even still watching the show? Legitimately why? Because what is your expectation when you don't truly believe there's a way for Lom to be redeemed at all?

And I'll be honest, seeing the pretty dismissive reactions to Lom telling the whole story about him and Yiwa coming to the realization that their parents wouldn't be able to accept their sexuality, it really kind of hurts. I know in a lot of ways it feels easy to believe that the reason they hid it is because they didn't want to lose their inheritance, but have you considered that maybe they do love their parents? At least a little? I know that especially for many people in western audiences it seems easy and simple to say "just leave then" in response to queer people who stay closeted because of their families, but there are always going to be so many layers to that. Especially when you look at through a cultural context lens. It's really just is not that simple. Money creates a lot of privilege, that's very true. But we can also look at real life people for whom that money isn't clearing the way for them to live their life fully openly. You can literally look at PP Kritt and see that despite his privilege, fame, and familial wealth, he is still dealing with consistent societal discrimination.

I also don't love this narrative that Yiwa is being selfish. The arrangement was mutually agreed upon, by both of them. To keep each other's secrets and let Yiwa have her love. Does that seem unfair to Lom? Yeah, but he wouldn't have seen it that way prior to meeting Nuea. He wasn't expecting to ever get anything remotely close to a happily ever after, so it wasn't truly a sacrifice to him when he made that agreement.

And this also circles back to his comment about saying that he wanted Nuea even though he was getting married, because he just wanted that one moment of happiness. Is it a selfish idea? Yes, but to be shocked that a rich, privileged man exhibited selfishness is a bit much. But also, I don't think Lom was expecting to fall for Nuea. Like I said, I don't really think it was love at first sight, but lust. I think the more time he spent with Nuea the deeper he fell. I believe his intention was to have something along the lines of a fling, and that when it was over Nuea would move on from him and find his eventual happily ever after and he would settle for memories. That's part of why I think he withheld the truth even after Yiwa told him it was okay to tell Nuea the full truth. This is a man who never expected to find joy or a true partner but was willing to go to extreme's to help the person he sees as a sister have the opportunity to have her own happiness. But yeah, he's just a shitbag.

And the references to love-bombing...I hate how people have brought that term into the discussion of the last two episodes. So if you're not familiar with the term, it's become more common on social media in the discussion around narcissistic and abusive partners. It generally refers to overwhelming physical displays of affection like gifts and such, especially early on in a relationship, essentially with the intention of creating a power imbalance in favor of the narcissistic partner.

The following are the most common signs of love-bombing:

They give you needless gifts 

They’re in a rush to lock things down 

They’re always available and demanding of your attention 

They can’t take ‘no’ for an answer 

They like you better when you’re alone 

They over-communicate their love for you 

You feel overwhelmed, uneasy or off-balance 

These are not things that Lom is doing. Buying McDonalds and ice cream for someone so they know you care...that's not love-bombing, that's at best wooing. Especially when intent is part of why it matters. Lom is doing it to show he cares, to show he pays attention to what Nuea likes, not in an attempt to make Nuea feel indebted to him for said gifts (that total up to about $10). Lom isn't trying to lock things down with Nuea, he's not attempting to force Nuea to choose him. He just wants Nuea to make the decision to either choose him or not knowing his love is genuine. He wants Nuea to be making an informed decision. He does not demand Nuea's attention, at most he requests it sometimes. He takes 'no' for an answer pretty regularly. He doesn't purposely or intentionally try to get Nuea alone. 'They over-communicate their love'...this one seems iffy, but it's not about saying "I love you" to a person, it's more related to presenting that love to others to cement a relationship. Essentially trying to make it awkward for a person to say 'oh well we're not quite that serious'. And that last one...Nuea is reflective and considering of the situation as a whole, but he's not uneasy, he's not overwhelmed. You could maybe argue afraid, but not of Lom, he's afraid of potential future heartbreak. Love itself is scary. Feelings of that depth and strength are scary. Because we all know that even if that love lasts the rest of your lives, the length of your lives is never guaranteed, and loss is ALWAYS a potential outcome.

I'm not arguing that the show is without flaws, all of Mame's shows/stories are flawed. But I do feel like there was a level of expectation that seems entirely misplaced. Like, these same people who love Payu and Rain to death, had nothing to say to the reveal that Payu had orchestrated at least one instance of a run-in with Rain, a person with whom there was a far larger power imbalance, but Lom pursuing Nuea, a grown ass adult who is never afraid to speak his mind to Lom, that's too problematic???

I don't know anymore. I like the show. It has faults, and flaws, and so do it's characters, but Lom is not a fucking mustache twirling villain out to trick and capture poor, sweet, stupid Nuea. And that's kind of how it feels like the discussions about the show have been going.

So now that I've actually watched 10 anime I wanted to rank them from best to worst

1. MSG: the Witch from Mercury; I have not seen any other Gundam show but I don't think this one is leaving #1 spot ever, and Bandai were cowards and homophobic for not showing us either a kiss or the wedding even though they got married, also I'm so mad that I episode 11 during the hug they didn't even say "I love you". The robots became the least interesting part of the robot show (8th I watched)

2. Bocchi the Rock!; probably what I want most anime to be, can't wait for the movie('s), this, G-Witch and Your Name might as well both be #1, also I want a cute Bocchi plush but I can't find one that's affordable without a high delivery :< (7th I watched)

3. Your Name; A movie that I found on a trans subreddit about a year ago, I didn't think it'd be as good as it was or that it'd affect me as much as it did, but I was left in tears when the credits came on, the story went somewhere completely than I thought it would, 10/10. also tied for first place, it deserves to be watched in a movie theater so much (10th I watched)

4. Cowboy Bebop; twink and his bear friend go on space adventures oh and the twink has his own shadow the hedgehog (6th one I watched)

5. BNA: Brand New Animal; the one of 2 studio Trigger show I've seen but from what I've read and heard they have a pretty mid reputation, I really liked it tho, I watched it around the time I came out and it's a pretty good trans allegory (still feel a tad weird about the ending) (4th one I watched)

6. Neon Genesis Evangelion (and the 1st movie); (don't)Get in the robot Shinji, I had been interested in it a bunch, big robots and all that, but only just got to it. The self perpetuating loop of abuse and trauma that Shinji and everyone gets put through because Genduo can't get over the death of his wife is horrible and I can't think of a more despicable antagonist than him, the movie was so fucked up. I still struggle to get what Seele was supposed to represent. I loved every scene where the Eva's get shown as demons, those looked real cool (9th I watched) (watched it entirely cuz of Signalis)

7. Cyberpunk Edgerunners; watched this before I played the game, the abuse that David went through combined with the end that I miss interpreted put me a bit off and I missed the point, but I got it after a rewatch (3rd one I watched)

8. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure; now that I've grown as a person I can safely say that it deserved to drift from spot 1, part 4 is still my fave. And it's still really really good in spite of how low it is (1st I watched)

9. Guilty Gear Xrd & Strive story mode; I am both counting and lumping them together, I liked the oversized Smurf with a gun, also Elphelt bby girl, still would've preferred an actual game tho(5th one I watched)

100000000000. Future Diary; I've watch this in a trade to get someone else to watch JoJo's, they came out better off with that deal, I am also no longer friends with that person (not because of the show but it's funny to mention) (2nd I watched) I still think it's missing some zeros, just add however many you believe it needs

Honorable mentions:

- Signalis; I know it's not an anime but it's anime adjacent and it's the best story I've ever played through, I don't even like horror games or gore at all that much but I will 100% this game and get all the endings, I wish I could talk about it more but spoiling ANYTHING about it feels wrong and making posts where half the words are censored just so fans get it isn't gonna work

- Pokemon; I loved the XYZ and B&W runs but I haven't watched it all and only remember catching it on TV

-Scott Pilgrim takes off, I watched the first few episodes, I don't particularly care for it, but it looks pretty good

Dishonorable mentions:

- Attack on Titan; I've had a run in with the series back when season 1 came out, back when I thought gore was cool, now I have negative interest in the series, I literally couldn't care less and I'm only putting it here to be fair

Conclusion:

After the Witch from Mercury and Evangelion, I don't care for big robots as much as I used to.

Oh and I'm watching some more soon-ish gimme recommendations

Most episodes are written like their seasons - they end opposite how they start. This is the 4th installment of my 14 episode series post. For those who don't know me, you can take and use my gifs any time you want.

3x4: Disturbing Behavior

3x4 opens with Elena at home, still wearing the necklace. 3x4 ends with 20s Elena at home, Katherine with the necklace.

Their necklace switch from Elena to Katherine flips the script. Once Katherine has it, they start their 20s storyline in current timeline. When I do my post for 3x5, I'll show what they did with the 20s and the necklace.

They spent much of this episode pushing both sides of Delena for the sake of sending Damon out of town. They needed him out of town to pull off what they do. This is what the double push did to Delena...

If Elena truly believed it was over between her and Stefan, she wouldn't be wearing it. The necklace would be a reminder of her loss, yet she wears it like a beacon of hope. So denial or extreme hope. She's gorgeous in this scene, the way she looks at Damon... her eyes falling on his lips.

Elena isn't blind to the reality of Damon. He's the bad brother. Her and Caroline go round and round in this episode, and it's all about Damon. As I explain Elena, understand she's dealing with the same thing Stefan did with Katherine. So when I get to the end of this post, you'll know why Damon pushed Elena to admit her feeings in 3x2.

"He's just trying to be a good..." Cut-off sentences should be viewed like fill in the blanks. Is Damon trying to be a good friend or a good boyfriend? "Both of you stop judging." Bonnie spent the summer with her father, so she has no idea what's been going on. That's why she responds differently. She can't judge when she hasn't been home. She tries to stop Caroline, but Caroline is eager to flesh this out. I'm talking about the same girl that knows Elena kissed Damon on his deathbed. They want to know why the bad brother is helping her cook now. "Maybe it's a sign you shouldn't be wearing it. What, I'm just saying. If you're going to be cooking without Stefan." Stefan being the good brother.

"So you're not, like, switching Salvatores, are you?" The vibe in Caroline's wording is stunning, and it's there because Elena isn't good at hiding like Damon and Stefan are. Caroline wants to make sure Elena isn't considering a brother switch. Again, Bonnie tries to stop Caroline and fails. Intimate distance cooking in the kitchen. Add in the fact that she defended Damon earlier. "Both of you stop judging. He's just trying to be a good..." Elena is hilarious. "What?" She can't believe she's being asked this question.

"Stay focused."

"As your friend who worries for you daily, what is the deal with you and Damon?" Caroline wants to know why she's letting Damon cook with her in the kitchen because she's worried . Elena lies to her. "There is no deal." And again, she defends Damon. "He's been just as focused on finding Stefan as I have."

Two trains running. Train one, saving Stefan. "Yeah, but that doesn't make him any less Damon" Train two, Elena's love for Damon. "If my own father, who I love dearly, can't change me... no one's changing Damon. Not even you." I'm gonna put Damon and Elena into this very context so you can see how idiotic Caroline's statement is. It would be like Damon saying, "If the voice of my humanity, who I love dearly, can't change me... no one's changing Caroline" Know this, you'll know why Damon's scene with Bill exists. "What makes you think that you can change the basic nature of a vampire?" An idiotic statement for Caroline because she's comparing basic nature to learned behavior. The difference between craving and resisting. Stefan will alway crave human blood, but he can choose to survive on animal blood. Caroline will always crave human blood, but she can choose to survive on blood bags. Shove that blood bag in her face and she'll crave it. That's her basic nature.

They mix Bill's homosexuality with vampirism to explain there's no burning away the hunger just as there's no burning away the gay. That's why Damon says what he does to Liz. "Is that what you told him when you two got divorced?" Isobel had this same chat with John in season one. "My lifestyle?" Vampirism isn't a lifestyle, it's a state of being. They're predators. If Damon couldn't change, they would've spent their summer running for cover while Stefan played Ripper with Klaus. Damon can be extremely dangerous lol. "Look, why are we even talking about this?" This question is Elena's way of denying her feelings for Damon. There's no point for them to talk about Damon's love for her and his ability to change if she doesn't feel the same in return.

Damon can be reeducated, and Elena knows it. That's why Caroline's comment has the opposite effect. It fuels her argument with Damon. You see this switch happen on screen. If she can make him more like Stefan, she won't have to be so afraid of loving him... and she very much loves him.

"Maybe it's not a bad idea. I mean, it'll help you keep yourself in control now that Stefan's not here to…" Damon tells Alaric and Elena that Bil has plans to put vervain in the town's water supply. Neither Alaric nor Elena know that Damon built his tolerance to it in the second season and he never stopped drinking it. For Damon, vervain sits at the very heart of the matter. Neither Alaric nor Elena know that it hasn't grown in Mystic Falls since 1864 because of him. He's the one that watched 27 vampires get taken away with the use of vervain, and for the sole purpose of burning them alive in Fell's church. He then relived it in 1x22 with the vampire device.

Fell family chili. "I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Founders parties are just an excuse for the council to gather in back rooms and plot against vampires." No one's been keeping Damon in check all summer. Elena's sudden need to keep him in check and so much as bringing Stefan's name into it... that was enough for Damon. He's been dealing with this through the entire episode, everyone telling him how to behave. Elena just added fuel to that fire.

Caroline's comment pushes Elena's rush to change Damon. To make him more like Stefan. He doesn't have to act like a vampire, but she got it because she pushed it. "Okay, you and Damon were both right. I was trying to change him. But if he wants to be in my life..." This sets the tone for 3x5 as they completely switch shoes. Elena is about to meet Ripper Stefan.

Consider this following scene Elena's second confession. It's much like her confession in 3x2, only she's confessing to Caroline.

Caroline: Wait. I... It's been a long week, so I'm just going to be blunt. It doesn't matter what he does, Damon's gotten under your skin. Elena: That's not true.

Elena lies to Caroline. This is her fear.

Caroline: God, just admit it, Elena, okay? You are attracted to him! In all of his bad brother glory. Elena: No.

Elena lies to Caroline again. This is her fear.

Caroline: Wait, no, you're not attracted to him, or no, you just won't admit it? Elena: I can't, Caroline! 

Caroline's question and the way Elena answers that question is her confession. She's in love with Damon.

Elena: I can't, Caroline! If I admit it, if I even thought it for just a second...What does that say about me?

Similar in concept, "You are who you surround yourself with." What does being in love with Damon say about Elena. What does being in love with Katherine say about Stefan. The purest of hearts and the allure of darkness. The very reason Stefan lived in denial for 145 years. He finds it easier to blame Katherine's compulsion and hate her for it rather than know what loving Katherine says about him. His love for her was real, and so is Elena's love for Damon. Elena never stops confessing her love for Damon, it's just a matter of how she does. The writers didn't want her to spell it out until after she beomes a vampire.

Caroline: It says you're human, Elena.

Love is emotion, love is humanity. This plays out in season 4 with the sire bond. Being in love with Damon doesn't mean that Elena is anything like Katherine.

I can't speak about the entire Wtfock. The 3th is really good, but I haven't watched the other two. Also, a lot of people hate the 4th and I never watched. The new season is nice, I've been busy to follow them, but the couple has a lot of chemistry and it's WLW so I'm down for it. All episodes are available on Youtube, which is a super bonus.

But yes, I have seen Eskam. I love Crisana (and cris season is so fun) and I was never able to get over my crush on Joana and that's okay. I don't like the first season much, but love the girl's squad dynamic. Also, their Noora/Vilde Season is something else, right? I feel like the put on a lot of things the fandom wanted to see in the original.

I think I have seen at least one season (or a few episodes) of each remake. I didn't follow them all, since the first four seasons are the same plot, but I have seen them all. My favorite was Skam NL, and to this day the fact that they got canceled haunts me. Skam Italia is amazing, all seasons! The characters have incredible chemistry and they changed a lot of the dynamics, it makes it feel like a new show. AND I LOVE DRUCK, are you kidding me? Third-best after NL version, they have the best chances into the storylines and the new generation is just superior to anything the others tried to do it (I'M TALKING TO YOU SKAM FRANCE). And we have Transgenders Characters falling in love, talking about the subject and it's so so beautiful. BTW, I like Skam France too, but they broke my heart with Maya and Lola breaking up so I'm not on good terms with them.

I hate Skam Austin and can't believe they approved that.

I don't wanna share the story because I'm always changing it! And I have dozens of drafts, and none is usable haha But I can say that the main inspiration will be the healthy versions of Noora/William. Sorry, but the original one is just not it for me. I loved Nooreva too much and hated William. Plus, Noora literally gets sick from anxiety while dating him, so nope. Not gonna work. Lucky for us, Skam Italia and Druck gave us healthy versions of this couple. I think Edoardo and Eleonora are the main inspirations, but Mia and Alexander are incredible as well. I could put some references to Skam NL as well, since Liv and Noah are very sweet and I feel like the closest I could be to a William is the Noah Sad artist version.

I can't give any spoilers for the druck fic because I want it to be the best one, Kieutou is my favorite skam couple. I'm gonna invest some extra time into this one.

I kinda wanted to make a longer series of posts going into my idea for Armored x Magic girls series, title always being "work in progress"

of course i always don't end up doing it

it started when I had few things subconsciously on my mind like Super Sentai, Kamen Rider, Mighty Morphin, KRgirls group just changed and a lot of members graduated, I wanted to see an all female team, this poster

it looks cool but spoiler it's a poyn and not the good kinda poyn

now if PR are light armors, KR medium armors and Iron Man heavy armor i definitely wanted medium i could only make exception for heavy just so it's not the same as KR but they were intended to be medium

eventually i just started fantasizing and didn't have anything planned. to tell you the truth the starting story is just meh it's the characters that make first season interesting. their story and plot twists are what 1st series is really about. actually instead of season I should call it series as every series is a new instalment. 2nd series wasn't planned at all i did have some random things going through my head a possible 2nd season but it was just random trash. As i was checking Umbrella Academy some things started clicking and 2nd series started with all new characters and continuation from 1st series. The 3rd was really cool it had the biggest cast, was set on a different planet. What was going through my head at the time was a lot of different groups like Angerme, BiSH and i don't remember other (they were some small groups unrelated to H!P or WACK). originally i didn't even know if this was going to be a prequel in some way like how it all started, what's the story with the armors? is it going to have a bad ending?. THEN i wanted to watch Maji Majo Pures but finding episodes was a struggle needles to say my fantasies took me into what i thought was going to be a sister series with magic but I started to ignore the first series and as future series would turn out this was all.. connected!!!?

yes I couldn't believe it as nothing was planned but the sister series would later reveal to me that there was another story, hidden and with its roots there from the start!

i took some inspiration for 5th series in Garo and Saki being in Jinga stage, this is where the series completely moves to another dimension the world of magic

now 6th series was tricky as i had a teaser for it in 5th series finale after listening to FATE GEAR version of Headless Goddess but.. something happened in 5th series and as i had no real ideas just yet for the 6th and as i was listening to Last Idol and 'Ghost' performance from Revue Starlight the event from 5th series butterfly effected a new 6th story and that 6th story couldn't be 7th series or give its place to 6th series which i eventually started fantasizing about after listening to Predia and Kalafina. so the 6th series is now serie 6 but 7th story and that other one is 5.5 series all because the teaser in series 5 can't be removed we also have a mysterious appearance in 5, 5.5 and 6th series also 8th which can't be put out of order. the 7th series is kinda silence before the storm, slice of life comedy starring a character that might look like this *cough*

the 8th series is just Pato-Lupinranger ripoff

now the technically 10th story wasn't intended to be a series as it just quickly goes over something that happens in the past some 60 years ago. the ending we see here was the first scene in 4th series but... we see something new here that changes everything we thought we knew about that scene

the era finale aka 11th story is where we find out everything about mysterious woman that started showing up as we follow a mix of the story set in the past and the stories where we bring back everybody from other series ending their stories, tying loose ends, giving them a send off as the final battle is about to happen and even the future will intervene because if they fail in this one, there is no future

also i don't remember telling Airi what the story was with 2 shadows

yeah there's actually 2 mysterious woman manipulating with butterfly effects and they're not exactly on friendly terms anymore. seriously i don't remember telling Airi what the story was

now for the second era i wanted it to be more free from continuity of 1st era but we are meeting that future or the characters that will be that future one day here we also discover more about this worlds

oh yeah we kinda have earth, space and other dimensions which are more like pocket or buble dimensions

now before i could end the 2nd era i was already fantasising the 3rd xD

you thought the battle in 1st era was the deciding one, you were wrong the 3rd era battle doesn't even connect to the future no time traveler can go past that point

idk if this is quite what you're looking for but, if you haven't watched or read already: def recommend Leverage (tv show, comedy, a group of ciminals help regular ppl by taking down rich ceos and the like, someone also rec'd it), Burn Notice (tv show, drama, burned spy trying to figure out who burned him and become a spy again, but to do so has to make money so ends up helping regular ppl against actual criminals with his spy knowledge so does crime a lot), Person of Interest (tv show, drama, spy disillusioned by his gov gets picked up by a wealthy man who wants to help regular ppl who are about to be involved in a crime in some way; there's deeper lore but that would be a spoiler lol), and finally Chuck (tv show, comedy, a regular guy finds himself thrust into the spy world bc he accidentally downloaded a supercomputer's worth of knowledge into his brain) and for books, the Gallagher Girl series by Alley Carter is really good. tho i will say reading them as an adult, at least for me, gets rough by abt book 4 or 5 bc things get pretty harrowing for these teens and my adult brain is going, "who let these teenagers be spies?!" and "you're the adult, you should know better!!" but as a kid i was enthralled bc i too love spies and crime

I finished reading "Lucas On The Line" and I really enjoyed it through and through.

There are only 3 things I disliked from the book (more like 2, the first one is a complaint more than anything else), and I'm gonna start by mentioning them before diving into what I liked the most:

I wish the damn book was longer. I would gladly pay to read Lucas' POV of everything that happened on season 4. 

Lucas being at odds with Mike, Dustin, and Max around the time the Byers moved to California doesn't sit right with me. If he was barely on speaking terms with them, they can't expect me to believe he joined forces with Max to make fun of Dustin. No way in hell.

The book states the Championship Game was on April 4th, 1986, when it was actually held on March 21st. In fact, season 4 was already finished by April 4th. Perhaps the author had access to early scripts in which the season was set in the first week of April instead of the final week of March, but it still annoyed the fuck out of me.

Okay, so now onto my favorite parts:

Lucas being torn between his loyalty to his friends and wanting something different for himself than what he always had was an excellent storyline, as was his struggle to find his place and trying to understand where he came from and what he wanted out of life. Eventually, he realized what he truly desired was to be with his friends, to help them, and even protect them. It was ridiculously endearing and a reminder of why so many of us fell in love with him in the first place. Because Lucas is fiercely loyal, selfless, and protective, and will stop at nothing to help those he loves. Those are great qualities to have in a character and the book excelled at showing that.

All of the Lumax content was *chef's kiss*. Lucas' anguish at being unable to reach out to Max and his desperation as he feels her slip away was painful to read, but it also provided much-needed insight into how their relationship deteriorated between seasons 3 & 4.

Every Lumax scene from season 4 has a different meaning to me now. I love them even more.

Not Lucas saying he and Max are best friends first and that's why their relationship is so special 😭 THAT'S THE MAIN REASON WHY I LOVE THEM SO MUCH:

The absolute fear Lucas felt when he thought Max was going to die broke my heart because I imagine how he felt when she died for real, even if she was brought back to life shortly after.

Very random moment but there's a mention of Annie and Lucas imagining the Party singing "It's The Hard-Knock Life" and I laughed a lot because 1. Sadie Sink was Annie on Broadway and 2. The Party somehow did sing that song! It's one of the songs the cast sang when they were on Carpool Karaoke.

I love the book explained how Lucas knows "Running Up That Hill" is Max's favorite song, and the little moment they shared listening to it before breaking up. Also, Lucas concluding the song's lyrics match their current situation and seeing Max tear up made me tear up. "Running Up That Hill" is a Lumax anthem CONFIRMED:

There was a very sweet parallel between Max remembering the good times with her friends as she is fighting Vecna, and Lucas recalling how happy he was when he and Max were together:

Last but not least, I wonder if a few scenes were meant to foreshadow what happens to them at the end of the season. The first one was Lucas observing how much Max's eyes have changed, as if they have lost their brightness, an ironic thing to point out now that Max is (most probably) blind:

The second one was Lucas' determination to stand by Max's side until the very end which made me cry, given what happened to her (I never cry at anything but fucking Stranger Things, I swear...):

Anyways, I recommend you to read this book. It's a good companion to ST4 and sheds a different light on Lucas' state of mind during the first 4 episodes. It also provides a fascinating insight into his fears, desires, and wishes, as well as his ambitions.

Billie demonstrates at arms length and I stand in gay silence. Is there anything this woman can't do? Her silk slip dress ripples in the breeze, swaying along with her hips before she has me try it with her.

"There you go." she smiles, counting as we do it again, "One two three and four- you're a natural, querida mía." ((my darling)) the pet name she's taken to since we landed on spanish soil rolls off her tongue. A habit she has anytime we go somewhere new.

"Hardly." I watch our feet in effort to follow her lead.

"Don't think so much, bachata has technique but for now we can focus on the more...hm" Billie steps her right leg between mine, "sensual part."

I look up into her deep brown eyes while she whispers the counts, our thighs pressed, her hand a comforting pressure on my lower back to keep me close.

Billie speeds up as the song playing from outside changes, "You really have to feel your partner...anticipate their movements as well as the changes in the music." she steps back and lifts our joined hands over my head to spin me.

"You've been to the Dominican Republic a few times, right?" I ask.

Billie has me spin her this time, "Twice. The first time was mainly for the show—I want to say season three—but when we went for our usual follow up with the family we were able to enjoy the culture more. That's certainly a benefit of my travels."

"Can you speak any spanish?"

"Only greetings, some dirty words and swears and sweet nothings like any respectable adult." Billie laughs, "I'm kidding. I probably know more than the average person simply because I like to speak without the interpreter when I want something to come directly from me. Can I memorize something for future use? Sí. Could I carry a proper conversation? No. I'll say that in spanish, too, no."

I twirl a strand of her hair around my finger, "Funny."

"I try." a giggle only wine can bring out erupts.

I tuck the strand behind her ear, "Who there taught you to dance like this?"

"The great-grandmother if you believe it. She was about 80," Billie smiles fondly, "I spoke to her husband for the episode and she showed me the basics—a less promiscuous version—of what they used to do together."

"That's sweet." my finger traces from the dimple in her chin to her diamond earring.

"It was. But then she passed me off to her grandsons. They all called me 'reina' or 'rubia' so it was fantastic for my ego. They took the crew into town for real dancing once we wrapped. Locals came up to us clueless Americans saying '¡baila conmigo!' and dragged us to the dance floor. So dance we did. It was fun, it was sexy, people would have a temporary connection with a total stranger just to never see them again." ((queen, blondie, dance with me!))

As one song fades into the next Billie leads us in a side to side 3-step, still emphasizing each beat with her hips. She turns, passes my hand into her other hand behind her back, and rolls her body into mine once she's facing me again. She outstretches our joined hands to our sides and up so my arms fall around her neck while her hands continue lower to pull me closer by my waist.

The music eventually slows and we sway in each other's arms to the guitar instrumental echoing from the building down the street.

"You gettin sleepy, babydoll?"

I lay my head against her shoulder, "A little. Few more minutes of this?"

"Sure, baby."

I tilt my head to kiss the part of her neck nearest to my lips. Billie rests her chin on top of my head, her hand running up and down my back as we dance a little longer.

Audrey pecks my cheek and my jaw repeatedly, "I don't know if I believe you because you've yet to kiss me properly this morning."

"I kissed your forehead when I got up." I retort.

"Blasphemy!" Audrey shakes her messy blonde hair, "Sing with me." she tries to turn me around.

I release the pan handle and try not to drop the spatula, "I'm trying to make breakfast, woman!"

Audrey pulls me closer, not an ounce of personal space in sight, "But it's not a solo! Cmon cmon cmon cmon—"

I place the pan on a back burner and concede, "Audrey?" I sing.

She brings a hand to her chest and bats her eyes, "Yes Y/n?"

"How do you call your lover boy?" I smile, leaning onto the kitchen island.

Absolutely giddy—but still in character—Audrey beckons me with her finger, "Come here, lover boy!"

"And if he doesn't answer?" I cross my arms.

"Oh lover boy?" she walks around the island and my eyes can't help but follow her as she climbs onto the counter.

I lay my palms flat on the marble separating us, "And if he still doesn't answer?!"

"I simply say," she seductively crawls to me as she sings, "Baby," her laugh breaks through when I play air guitar, "oh baby! My sweet baby!" Audrey brushes my hair from my face as my arms encircle her waist, "You're the one." she sings softer.

I bury my face in her cleavage just as the scene goes and a giggling Audrey lifts my head from her boobs to meet my eyes once she's seated on her bum, "Baby, oh baby!"

"Is it?"

"They mentioned it in the announcements today." When I peek at Mina she's turning the page, the slight crinkle of her brow the only indication she heard me, "It's in 2 months, I think."

"Is it?" the corners of her mouth hint to a smirk.

"Babe." as always the pet name earns a genuine smile

"I'm only teasing," she marks her spot with one of the gifts I got her for our 6 month anniversary: lilac, wisteria, and hydrangea pressed flat and enclosed in a resin bookmark, "Is there a particular reason you're bringing prom up?"

Wilhemina says it with confusion instead of distaste so I don't back down, "Do you plan on going?"

"You're answering my question with a question."

"And you're avoiding mine."

"Touché. I'm not one for school events. I'm not exactly akin to the rest of the student body, as you know." she tilts her head, trying to read me like one of her books, "I'm not opposed to prom and what it entails, congregating aside. So to answer your question: in an ideal world I would go if it could be just you and I there. Admittedly I can appreciate the need for a typical high school experience, the romance and novelty within it. Now my question, is there a reason you're asking?"

"Nope." I smile, happy with her answer.

"Mhm." Mina looks at me over the rim of her glasses before returning to her novel, "I'm sure I'll find out soon enough."

April 20th

I planned Wilhemina's promposal using some of her favorite books and ending with one of her favorite poems.

The welcomed rhythmic tapping of my girlfriend's cane announces her entrance, "Hi sweets." she kisses the top of my head.

"Hi, how's your day been?" I ask.

She sets her tote bag on the table, "The usual."

"Wanna play a game?"

Her eyes widen and her cheeks tinge pink, "Here?"

"Wha- I- not that kind of game!" I sputter, my own face reddening, "I'm talking about a scavenger hunt of sorts."

"Of sorts. What's my incentive?"

"Your prize?"

"Mhm."

I simply smile in response.

"I see..." she pushes her glasses up her nose, "may I have my first clue?"

I place an index card in front of her that says: The happiest place on earth for you is whatever book you decide to step into. You say you'll never step foot in Florida, so fuck Disney, you'd rather spend your time in pages scribed by good ole Ginny.

Mina heads for the english women in literature section, "Shall we?"

There's no real search for her to locate one of her favorite Virginia Woolf novels, Orlando. Wilhemina eyes me as she finds another card inside the book cover.

She reads aloud: "This story focuses on two sisters despite there being three. Both in need of a husband and funds for their family. The elder finds love while the other finds scorn. One practices logic and the other sensitivity, both have been taught to remain in the margins of the social standing brought on by their family torn." Mina glides down the isle, tapping her chin as she thinks, "El...Mar...sensitivity..."

"Stumped?"

"Never." she pauses briefly in front of the A's before plucking Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility off the shelf, "Dear Elinor and Marianne Dashwood."

My redhead thumbs the corner of the newest card as she rereads this letter for possibly the hundredth time in her life, the only difference being her name added in place of Susie: Willie, forgive me Darling, for every word I say — my heart is full of you, none other than you is in my thoughts, yet when I seek to say to you something not for the world, words fail me. If you were here — and Oh that you were, my Willie, we need not talk at all, our eyes would whisper for us, and your hand fast in mine, we would not ask for language...

"Willie?" she smirks.

"Sue me, it had to fit. I don't plan on making it a habit. I much prefer Mina, it's so close to mine and I think we both enjoy that."

"You incessant flirt." grinning (for her), she drags her finger across the spines of the D shelf, stopping when she reaches the final book, Open Me Carefully: Emily Dickinson's Intimate Letters to Susan Huntington Dickinson. The final card holds her favorite poem That I did always love by Dickinson.

I pull a small bouquet hidden in the top shelf. Offering her the larkspurs, babies breath, lavender, and lilac wrapped in lace ribbon with a nervous smile.

"You're serious?" her fingers tremble as she accepts the flowers.

"Deadly."

"Yes, I-" she lets out a girlish giggle, surprising us both, "I'll go with you. Yes." Mina smiles, opening her arm up for a hug.

I gently wrap my arms around her waist, "Thank god."

"Kiss me my hands are full." she says, and I do. 

May 20th

Since she made me promise not to spend too much I pick her up in my own car. When she opens her front door I greet her with a matching corsage (for myself) and a boutonniere (for her). Which I instantly drop when I notice the cutout in her high neck sheer blouse that highlights her cleavage beneath the velvet purple suit.

I decide to lay on the chivalry. Opening doors, offering my elbow to her as we walk. Her hold on my arm tightens but eases as we pass the main entrance, "Wait- where are we going?"

"The library." I answer.

"What?"

"You said your perfect prom would be just the two of us." I lead her into her favorite space, now decorated with twinkle lights, "I figured we could have a dance, go down the hall to the actual prom for the photo booth—so we can say we went—and then have dinner."

"If I didn't already know, I'd be sure I'm in love with you now."

Grinning like a fool, I press the necessary buttons to get her favorite songs playing, then offer my hand for her to take. She leans her cane against the table as I secure my arms around her waist.

Mina's arms settle around my neck and I lead us into our first dance. She momentarily seals the remaining gap with a gentle kiss, "Thank you."

"You deserve a special prom night."

Her eyes start to water but she blinks her happy tears back, "Does that mean I'm gonna get lucky?"

"Are you feeling lucky?" I laugh.

She pecks my nose, "Incredibly."

I exchange hugs and air kisses with those standing along the walls and by the in-home bar.

"Hi Flo, Marge, Gloria- happy birthday!" I squeeze her shoulder.

She bows her head briefly, "Thanks."

Margaret grins, "I'm glad you came, sister!"

"She was worried that she was too dressed up." Jill nudges my side, "I'll see you ladies, I've got to make my rounds."

"You feeling as good as you look?" Flo asks.

"Well- yes, if I'm being honest. It's nice to finally be working, making my own money- making new friends." I shrug, enjoying the camaraderie.

"I'll drink to that." Gloria raises a glass, "I saw you having a deep conversation last week with Y/n. Didn't realize you're friends"

"Oh? Oh- yeah. We were talking about fashion, actually, bell-bottoms and unnecessarily large sleeves. She's easy to talk to." just thinking about it makes me smile.

Gloria eyes me as she swallows, "You don't have to answer but are you single, Alice?"

"She's asking for a third party." Margaret adds.

"Who?" Flo furrows her brow at the two women.

Margaret rolls her eyes, "Who do you think?"

Flo's eyes dart somewhere behind me before she flashes her gap toothed grin, "Good luck, cupid." she adjusts her signature cowboy and leads Margaret to the bar.

I remain beside Gloria, both of our backs against the wall, "A year ago if someone told me my friend, Gloria Steinem, would be setting me up with someone I would've checked them into a hospital."

Gloria bobs her head side to side, "You're both dear friends of mine, good people. If I didn't think it could work out I wouldn't bring it up."

"Is she here? Have I met her?"

"Yes to both." she gestures to the dance floor, "It's Y/n." her smile widens at my shock, "Surprised?"

I swivel my head around to see if I can spot her. There she is dancing on a coffee table with Brenda, "She's interested in me?"

"Incredibly," Gloria offers a lopsided grin, "you're exactly her type."

I wonder what her type is...

Gloria chuckles, "She doesn't know I'm mentioning this to you, though, so no pressure."

My eyes find Y/n again, "No I- she's...yeah." my mind turns to mush as she moves to Dancing Queen.

"She's a good time, a sweetheart, and though I'm cursed with liking men I know she's gorgeous. Real laid back when you get to know her, so get to know her."

"We've chatted a fare amount of times- I'd say we're friendly but I never would've guessed."

"Y/n wouldn't make a move on you unless she was sure," Gloria chuckles fondly, "this is a party, Alice, so have some fun. I'm sure she wouldn't mind a dance." she pats my shoulder, "Let's get you a drink, loosen you up."

"That sounds like a good idea." hopefully she can't feel my gaze burning a hole in her head.

I watch her out of the corner of my eye as we sing happy birthday, our joined hands surely covered by the feathers of her sleeves. Only letting go when we applaud Gloria's candle extinguishing abilities. When I peek at Y/n again she's already looking at me.

I know you say you don’t want to talk about Allura bc of the last time, but just to get something off my chest: Allura is one of my favorite vld characters, I love how dorky and fun and really no boundaries she can be and she’s one of the few characters I think show off her flaws well to make her very well written. But the way she’s portrayed in fanon where ppl who loves her overperfect to the point that it makes her such a boring fanon character? Where she’s flawless and never get in trouble with anyone ever, could do everything better than everyone ever, and always be right on everything in the world? It’s such an eh characterization. And I feel like this is how people overcompensates for others ppl not enjoying her character to some extent.

But she loses so much of what made her a cool character when people just over perfect her.

It’s the same thing people do with Hunk. All I see is people calling him so sweet and perfect cinnamon roll and how he’s incapable of doing a single bad thing ever in the world. But that makes for such bland characterization and something really unengaging to see.

This is an interesting point that can be addressed without causing too much drama, I think.

Because the foundation of your statement, here, is talking about one dimensional characters.

I think we may be similar, anon, in what interests us when it comes to fanfiction. Because I enjoy the ones that explore the characters and their personalities when possible. I enjoy the ones that allow the characters to have flaws as well as strengths.

It's very easy to pick one trait to represent any given character and just use that as a way of giving them a "unique" personality. I of course have seen this used in fanfiction, because often times the side characters are not a main part of the story – they are just there because they have to be. And this is fine if that's what fanfic authors want to do. This is absolutely fine if this is what you like to write or read – if you just want to get to the actual point of the story without expanding too much on the world around.

But goodness, and worse, perfection? Those are boring, if they are not balanced out with something else.

This doesn't mean characters can't be innately good. I actually love a character who is almost too good for their own good. But there has to be a reason for that. And… oh… how fun it is as a writer and creator when those characters are faced with a situation that shatters their very nature.

The example I will always use is one of my favorite episodes of literally any show – "Midnight" from the 4th season of Doctor Who with David Tennent. So spoilers a bit. The Doctor (and especially 10) has had an unshakable belief in the human race. He's put himself on the line for them. He's defended them. He's always been able to talk his way out of things because he is smarter. But then in the episode "Midnight" we witness humans turning on the Doctor. The mob mentality and the humans' will to survive at the expense of others in this episode is something out of his control. And it visibly shakes him. If only for a moment – for this one episode – I believe you can literally see him questioning whether or not all humans are worth protecting anymore.

Of course I understand how writers want to portray a character a certain way, especially if that character is often portrayed in a negative light. I understand the need to overcompensate.

But it's exactly like you've said. It's bland. It's boring. It gets old really quickly.

Because people aren't drawn to characters who can do no wrong. People aren't drawn to perfection.

People are drawn to characters they can relate to on a personal level. People are drawn to characters who are interesting.

People are drawn to characters who are human.

In my humble opinion, at least. :)

They almost get run down at the address of the gallery owner.

And then they sort of accidentally break into his house and stumble on his dead body.

"So you just walked in and discovered the body?" what, like you're surprised?

Lieutenant shows up with his girlfriend and he wants to be dismissive and tell them to leave the cop-work to the cops, but the girlfriend is pitching for the harts.

they end up back at the gallery - they don't want the portrait to disappear! - but guess what. It's already gone.

they have a bit of fisticuffs with the guys who are trying to sell the portrait and i can't believe they couldn't get a more similar looking stunt double for Stefanie.

For some reason, the fact that Jennifer was in the gallery has made this guy decides she has to die. that's no bueno.

the harts buy tickets to a ball for that night - the ball that the bad guy is throwing.

jonathan is starting to feel his spidey sense tingling about the guy throwing the ball, the artist's former teacher and coincidences.

Anyway, they're going to chase down the private collectors.

Next stop is bad guy's house.

Jonathan never carries business cards or cash. Useless.

my favorite scenes happen in the hart bedroom. coincidence? I just love it when they're getting ready to go out and they're all domestic and shit.

they're finally putting it together that the paintings will be more valuable now that he's dead.

they always to the hollywood costume company for costumes. I feel like I've been there but I would have been no bigger than a junebug so.

But guess what. At this BeauxArts Ball, everyone else is dressed in black and white. (also "hot stuff" is playing in the background, which is pretty much everything.)

there is a disco ball and confetti falling like snow. Everyone is in masks and partying down. This is the backdrop for the final chase/fight.

Wherein the bad guy plays to assassinate Jennifer since she's in all red and easy to see.

this guy is trying to kill Jennifer with a comically large gun but he accidentally hits a man wearing an actual suit of armor. Of all the luck.

the harts hide in a closet, which has a bunch of paintings all lined up...but the jennifer portrait on an easel with a spotlight. how very convenient.

More importantly, check out those gams.

Jonathan is dressed as the phantom of the opera, which makes these chase/fight on the catwalk above the party all the more perfect.

with one shot, Jonathan takes the comically large gun and shoots the bad guy off the catwalk. then he rides a rope up to save the girl.

the episode ends with them returning home all worn out.

Jennifer is complaining about her aching feet but I sort of feel like this one is on her. She's been wearing her shoes since her shower and that isn't anyone's fault but hers.

I litteraly hate sa.sha wa.ybright so much.

She is one of the worst characters if ever seen written. A character ruined instantly. Like. I had so much hope in her originally.

She was a good villain with grime rhe first season. She was manipulative, she was what makes a bad friend, she's a bad person. She didn't show any desire to change until she was forced to either be harmed/or at her limit. Which isn't. Good. She's a bad person, and she was good at being a villain.

I genuinly thought her an g.rime were going to be the main villains when s1 finished, and then s2 started and I saw her and gr.ime continue to bad I was like!

Oh!! Oh ok they aren't redeeming her. This show is showing that toxic people sometimes just can't be changed. That they stay toxic. And over 1 season and 3/4th of thr 2nd in she was still evil and didn't really have any intention of stopping.

Heck, she planned on taking over a whole freaking planet that struggled with its own racism. She was manipulating so many people, not just An.ne bur Ma.rcy bur P.ercy and Brad.dock and Gri.me. The last 3 may have also been semi bad people (grime being another villain just as bad as her but written well) but end of the day she was manipulating them (gri.me also manipulating her. They have the same kinda codependency anne used to have with sas.ha).

I DONT CARE IF SHES 13. I DONT CARE THAT SHE CAN CHANGE AND HAS YEARS TO GROW. this girl, tried fo take over a freaking different dimension. This girl thought she was in the right and only changed her ways in the MIDDLE OF A BATTLE WHERE AN EVEN EVIL-ER GUY WAS GOING TO KILL HER. If we hold the other girls to their actions (Anne's ignoring of marcy, marcys decsion making and the music box incident) we can freaking hold sasha to her Racism of a different species. Of her manipulative behavior and toxicity that only stopped cause someone that was slightly more evil than her to her knowledge, stepped in. To her FAKE ASS REDEMPTION.

turning point doesn't feel earned. The only way she could've been redeemed is. Ya know. Perhaps with 2+ episodes. Not freaking one. Not even that, half of a 12 min episode. She's only sorry cause something happened not because of her actions. She's upset cause things didn't go her way, and it'd be more believable if she just.

Ya know what would've made sense??? Sasha teamed up with andrias and continues to be toxic which she did even to the end and edge true colors. She ends of getting worse and worse, showing that toxic people just don't stop and sometimes it doesn't get better. And she's like. I don't fucking know. Dasha (dark sasha).

And the nail in the coffin. The shoot in the head that really set thjs off on me. All the episodes of wartwood just trusting her so easily, and the line "no anne. My days of toxic manipulation are OVER!"

Girl on ""toxic MANIPULAYORS"" SAY THAT WTFFFFF THAT WAS RHE FAKEST ASS LINE IVE EVER HEARD. AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON ANNE BEING OUT OF CHARACTER AND JUST.

I hate sa.sha waybrig.ht. she's annoying, she's horribly written and would've been better staying a villain. Freaking grime would've made more sense getting redeemed at that point like oh Mt God they're both bad people.

I hate turning point it ruined the whole freaking series. It ruined all this build up and it ruined s3.

So I finished watching the rest of She-Hulk (after giving up halfway to either never watch or binge it like I did today) and I have notes:

1. Being quirky and self-aware that your show sucks doesn't make it a good show. That whole 4th wall break segment was only made slightly less cringe because Kevin Feigi wasn't ACTUALLY there.

2. I can't actually believe they flat out tell you that all of the people who actually work on the show left before the show was over to go work on Black Panther 2. Like they're just straight up admitting that they don't give a shit about these shows and will put literally anything out.

3. Small highlight: Aside from the horrendous finale, the Daredevil episode was actually kinda good? I loved seeing Matt Murdock in a more jokey upbeat character rather than his moody and often just unnecessarily aggressive character from the Netflix series. That being said, I don't want him to be rebooted this way, I think this actually works better if we assume all of his show actually happened and he's just learned to lighten up a little bit.

I also still want him to be just as violent as he normally is in his show, I just mean when he's specifically being Matt Murdock I think he should be a little more personable than I felt he was in the Netflix show is all.

Anyways, overall 3/10 show. Love the actress, but there was effectively no plot.

Sex Education Season 3

Okay, so I literally just finished the third season and what the hell? How dare they. 😭

OTIS AND RUBY

I shipped Maeve and Otis since the first season, and I always knew hoped that they would be endgame. However, on S2's episode where Otis and Ruby hooked up, I saw that they would look good together. And let's face it, you probably did too and maybe that's why they gave this to us in S3.

But how dare they give this a chance only for it to disappear in episode 4? The chemistry. The spark. The vulnerability. It's there, I love it! THEY LOOK GOOD TOGETHER. Talk about Ruby's character development. She never let anyone in her house or meet her family, but she let Otis in. She loved him. Otis messed up, I know he doesn't love her but he should've fight for their relationship. What the heck happened to "You're interesting. Terrifying but interesting"!!!

I can't believe I SHIP THEM MORE THAN I SHIP OTIS AND MAEVE.

Leave me be, I'll be reading fanfics now.

ADAM GROFF

Definitely one of my favorite characters in this season. We started as hating him to loving him. We must protect him at all cost.10000% character development for Adam. Why did they do this to him 😭😭😭 he's actually so soft and deserves better.

Also, I think him and Rahim will be cute together. If there's a 4th season, I wanna see how their character will develop together.. If ya know what I mean.

LILY AND OLA

One of the cutest couples in the show!! I love them together. I have no words to say.

Overall, I like how the show talked and tackled so many issues. Probably not one of my favorite seasons but Otis and Ruby made it better. ❤️
