Just some doodling for my Sefikura shenanigans. If you want more info it’s under the cut!

This is probably just me rambling. And it’s long lol so for my little story {more just a compilation of doodles and themes I enjoy, so like a sandbox!} and it basically follows the canon up to 1 year after Advent Children. Here’s the prologue: Cloud is trying to live his life w/Tifa as they raise Denzel, but Sephiroth’s appearance is still all too fresh in his mind. Cloud often visits Aerith’s church for solace as recurring dreams haunt him. some stuff the story will harp on! hehe: battles in the lifestream because Sephiroth’s core still hasn’t deceased. Also a bond Cloud/Seph have that allows Sephiroth to take energy from Cloud to maintain a physical form {so Sephiroth acts as a parasite and Cloud the host.} also Cloud undergoes a metamorphosis because his body is dealing w/ an influx of JENOVA cells. {Seph manually creates the influx of JENOVA cells as they can transfer genetic material.} so yeah that raps it up. I will have a post that explains some more concepts and then some sketchy comic/doodle pages!

i have some thoughts on coping thru fiction and using fic/writing as a general tool that i wanna put out there. warning: i will be discussing grooming below the cut.

so to get it out of the way, i was groomed when i was 11. i don’t think this is the time nor place for me to go into a whole ramble about the specifics of that, so i won’t. all that’s necessary right now is that it happened and within a year i started adding similar dynamics to a project i was working on.

it was a sideplot during my first nanowrimo attempt centered around a post-apocalyptic scenario. the jist of it was a kid in his mid-teens, think 16 or so, was romantically obsessed with a mid-20s, closer to 30 woman. the age difference was about the same. i would ask for advice on the story in general from my mom (phd in psychology, literally never had a problem with it lmfao, funny how that works).

was it ass? absolutely, it was. a 12 year old wrote it. it’s never seeing the light of day lmao. but it was really important in the process of me not fucking hating myself for years for thinking/internalizing that it was a moral failing on my part.

the thing about it is that at the time, it didn’t feel like coping. i felt like i was just writing about something that happens. fleshing it out in that sterile environment helped me get a grip of how fucking gross what happened to me was, while putting myself in a position where i had control over what happened, something i didn’t have irl. i didn’t even realize that’s what happened until i thought “ah yes, i started writing dark fic when i was 12, the same calendar year i was groomed.”

now i look at people arguing over the semantics of it, with fic of that type being morally reprehensible with exceptions like “only if you never share it” or “only if you use it to cope” or “using it to cope is morally reprehensible for this-or-that reason, don’t interact with it in any way other than seething rage or some other specific way”. while seething rage and pure fucking anger can be a totally fine way to deal with it, people who think in these kinds of ways need to remember: not everybody is you. making broad assumptions, nitpicking, and believing that your way is the only correct way does nothing but harm other victims by taking away an opportunity for them to work out their trauma, at best. at worst? it allows more predators to hide and commit tangible harm due to widespread assumptions that the people hurting others are the people posting fic, and not the “safe” adults playing into kids’ interests and making them feel important and special. (source: that’s what mine did; yucky bad fanfiction was never a part of the equation.)

i know what the response to this is. “ackshully posting it is doing harm because it normalizes it and gives predators the confidence to act on the thoughts they already have; the human psyche is more sensitive to porn and if you get tired of fiction you’re bound to turn to nonfiction”. this is where the age old disagreement comes into play, and while i don’t see much of a point in rehashing it for people who already have their minds made up on it, i would like to note a couple of things, firstly that humans aren’t mirrors. most people see things like this and recognize it’s wrong, just like they recognize that other subjects criminalized irl are wrong, such as murder, theft, etc. if somebody sees something problematic and decides it’s a good way to act, there was something already wrong, be it undiagnosed mental illness or being too young/impressionable to participate safely in such circles. i also find this viewpoint really cruel in that it takes responsibility away from the actual predators, essentially painting them as wild animals who “couldn’t help it, they became desensitized and just had to have more of that vile content you people make” when grooming is, at its core, a desire for power over another. im gonna come out and say it: predators are smart. they are called predators for a reason. thinking of them as lawless beasts who operate out of instinct is entirely disrespectful to victims.

the cold hard truth of the matter is that darkfic, no matter how disgusting people find it on a case by case basis, is morally neutral. it cannot damage anybody by simply existing unless warnings are ignored or it is actively weaponized, sometimes meaning that the content itself is removed from the protective warnings and wantonly put on display for large audiences of underage people to see.

i personally don’t like a whole lot of darkfic, im really picky about what i read. and i think that no matter my thoughts on it, it has a right to exist. idc, consider me a “bad victim” lmao. if you do that’s your cross to bear, not mine.

tldr: sometimes you need to express shit and fuck you if you try to enforce your own feelings on others trying to do so

This was really long so I put it it under a read more, don't wanna spam the Shiftblr fam with my long ass ramblings lmao /Joke

(Also sorry I took so long to answer, I'm sick rn >:/ )

Okay so my Pokemon DR is mostly set in Sun/Moon/Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon (Alola) but includes characters and pokemon from Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire (Hoenn) and Black/White/Black 2/White 2 (Unova) because my backstory and main pokemon team

So my backstory is basically that I'm childhood friends with Guzma, (Professor) Kukui, Plumeria and (Professor) Burnet but my family move away to Unova and I don't get to say goodbye to Guzma and it makes him think I abandoned him. I get the first two pokemon of my main team in Unova which is an Oshawott I name Jeffrey and a Larvesta that I name Vestia plus a few temp mons and with them I become Unova Champion before my family moves AGAIN to Hoenn and I get two more of my main pokemon party in a Mudkip (Mason) and a Ralts (Saka) plus more temp mon before I become the Hoenn Champion as well (Yeah I know what you're thinking "Dual pokemon champion in TWO separate regions?? Is that even allowed?" Well all I gotta say is it's my DR so I say it's rare but possible)

Many years later of defending my dual championships I get called by Kukui about him trying to start a Pokemon league in Alola and I accept the role of helping him run it but only because I secretly want to see Guzma again and so I move back to Alola, finding the last two of my main pokemon party in a Rowlett who I name Robin and a Goomy who I name Gooey. I'm not the Alola champion, preferring to spend my time away from Unova and Hoenn relaxing and catching up with my old friends which is when I decide to try and reach out to Guzma only to find that the sweet kid I used to know is now big boss of a criminal gang called team skull

The rest of the pokemon that aren't in my main party help me part time with running a nursery, raising newly hatched pokemon for first time trainers or they chill out in my apartment.

I know that's a long backstory but It's my reason as to why I have non Alola pokemon on my main team if the DR is set in Alola. My Love interest in the DR is (as you can probably guess) Guzma because he's my babygirl fr fr /positive and with the release of the Scarlet/Violet DLC(The indigo disk) and with it being heavily implied that Blueberry Academy is in Unova I have added in my script that eventually (Not sure when tbh, I'm gonna let the world decide) we both move back to Unova and have Drayton (I give up my Hoenn champion title but keep my Unova title)

Like you can't just give me a white haired kid with a punk attitude who lives in Unova and has a sweet tooth and NOT expect me to claim him as Guzma and I's son

And that's basically it! I may be missing some details but that's the jist of what my Pokemon DR is about, thanks again for asking about it! :D

so I need to test this on another char to see what happens too as I am in the middle of doing another redeemed Durge run, but I find it super fun (but wait there's more) how my pro-bhaal durge got a different narrator bit in the Orin confrontation, But my redeemed/rejecting bhaal one got a much longer one. the video looks like it was cut fast because I noticed it was different IMMEDIATELY. more under cut. rambling.

This is where I start ranting despite being happy it was different.

Like, having done my redeemed durge run first it's kind of insane doing the evil-er route and seeing just how much the game lacks in content for an evil run. I've seen ye olde 'but Larian said evil players would get rewarded materially!' and oh my god that is a fuckin' lie. You get way more goodies for doing quests with surviving NPCs most of the time lmao. I apparently will not get an epilogue with this dark urge in the above video because I plan to do the evil ending as well. I get why, but it still sucks the evil runs are basically given nothing.

Coming from SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic) it kinda drives me nuts with how some games tackle morality systems - SWTOR also fell victim to the same thing sometimes, but overall I liked seeing what the writing team noted as 'evil' and 'good'. Even when it was just plain weird and frustrating it was fun to pick at.

My most favourite examples are the Black Talon flashpoint.(flashpoints are basically dungeons - so instanced areas that you play with others. Black Talon is also the first flashpoint for Imperial players.)

The jist of Black Talon is that you are on a ship (named the Black Talon lol) that is a transport ship, but you are called upon by the Grand Moff (basically big naval military leader) to board a Republic ship and capture a defector who is going to spill lots of beans. The Moff basically doesn't leave you the option to refuse, and the crew doesn't like this at all. You fight your way to the bridge and can commandeer the ship by a) killing the captain who disobeyed the Moff's order or b) basically telling the crew and captain to listen Or Else

This is obviously a dark/light option but it's not the one I'm about to pick at. The one I want to pick at is after you've basically ripped your way through soldiers boarding the Black Talon, AND boarding the enemy ship yourself, you find the defector.

He is a high-level military leader (simply named 'The General' by the Moff. The name is apt as he tells you he was a general once) who defected because he's 'seen too much' and realized both sides in this war were going to destroy each other. He gives you a lot of cryptic words about and even adds if you'd seen what he's seen you'd understand. He thought that he would perhaps be able to cause a stalemate, but it's too late, actually. He is also actively dying.

He tells you he won't get to an escape pod in time with his stomach bleeding out, so what will you do with him and his cybernetic implant full of secrets? (This is important for later!)

You have two choices.

a) Take him into custody. Where, he remarks, 'I'll be tortured and executed" and if he's lucky, he may instead live the rest of his life in a cell.

b) you can kill him.

Guess which side is the Dark, and which is the Light?

There are options that happen sometimes where you are performing a mercy-kill, they're rare, but they happen. This is not one of them lol.

I would really argue that taking him prisoner is the much worse option here. The more you play of the game, the more you learn that handing him off to Imperial Intelligence (which is basically secret service of the Empire) is the worst possible thing you can do to someone. You learn this especially quickly if you play as an Imperial Agent, one of the four starter classes SWTOR's Imperial faction offers.

If you know anything about Star Wars - even if you just know the movies - you know the Empire is pretty brutal, but honestly it's a whole different degree of insane when you go to Old Republic era because you get all that additional context *playing* as someone part of it. You see what your own Dark vs Light decisions are and what tools are available to Imperial Intelligence.

Remember I said the cybernetics was important for later? In the Agent storyline you come across a young man who has cybernetics, and you have the option to basically crack them open and grab what you need directly from his brain. This is after you bring him near to death and he very briefly begs you not to; but... someone else who just wants the job done - a man who used to work with Intelligence and was subsequently discarded by them - just wants you to do it because it's quicker and he can do the hard work, anyway. He will actually say that it's lucky they found a cyborg.

Dark options are often 'do bad thing, get reward faster' in SWTOR. Sometimes they'll make your job harder because you did a stupid thing, but usually it's the former.

Anyway, it's absolutely horrifying how you can literally just jam a USB into this guy's *brain* and basically grab what you need - all the while the victim is in excruciating pain - and it does so much damage you basically turn his brain into mush. Again, you can leave him like this or mercy kill him. I have to go back and look because I don't remember what was Light or Dark in this. IIRC, your companion is very unsettled by it. (Kaliyo, the companion, is a violent anarchist and is very 'Dark' leaning but IIRC this upsets her.)

So knowing this; and knowing the General has cybernetics... The Light option being to spare him sounds bizarre, doesn't it? The Moff actually gets very annoyed at you when you simply kill him, but overlooks it because at least the military secrets aren't in enemy hands, and he's in a good mood so why not.

SWTOR often has the ye olde "Save someone's life so it's the good option" but rarely takes into account the morality issue of prolonging their death - which is interesting, because obviously there's the whole question of someone *asking* to die or not, which is probably part of it honestly.

Situation two also has to do with cybernetics and is a bit juicier.

Once again in the Imperial side of things: you are tasked with storming a rogue Sith's compound to find a missing unit of soldiers on the capital world of Dromund Kaas. The sergeant pleads with you to find them, and she adds she's quite close to 'her boys'. She wants them home safe.

You do not find them in any thing resembling being able to come home 'safe'.

Grathan, the rogue Sith, was conducting experiments on them. Specifically, stuffing their brains into cyborgs - and he had succeeded. I have a video of this I myself recorded (11 years ago, wow):

You find the last of the unit, somewhat alive. He has also been shoved inside a machine and remarks he can see his corpse across the table. He explains to you that despite having no will of their own anymore (which he stammers out between fighting the programming trying to squash whatever is left of his free will), they are all very much *awake* and aware; so you are given two options as always. Light: Kill them. Dark: Have them be taken by the Empire and used as soldiers anyway.

So this is a mercy kill for obvious reasons - and the remaining soldier *asked* you to put an end to them. The sergeant later will be upset but thanks you for not letting them suffer if you do this. If you do the dark option, she is also upset but for different reasons and remarks she will have to contact the families.

So these are just two options in a massive, MASSIVE game but I find it interesting that BG3 kinda follows the same idea of 'do bad, get quicker reward' but the reward is. just. moving to the end of the game faster. I really can't think of many instances where the 'Bad' option nets you a better reward than the good option either, except like... Getting the +2 STR potion for making Astarion bite Araj, or letting Ethel live if you choose to confront her. Or the Slayer form, I guess. Which isn't that great depending what class you are anyway...? (I definitely don't need it on a cleric lol)

Also let's look at Minthara for a second. You are trading Halsin for her, and if you continue doing Evil route options - you also lose Jaheira and Minsc. It's weird. BG3 makes me feel like I'm having a shorter, less content filled run by playing evil - and while SWTOR's morality is mostly on par, it never made me feel like I was missing out on content by doing the evil run stuff.

Part of that is probably due to it being a MMO but man.

I've been hammering this out at work so I may add more to it later but I am really itching for games to tackle morality systems with more branching options than this. KOTOR 2 did some fun things with turning your allies to the Dark side but it was still very 'I kick puppies' levels of evil choices.

hi hello internet!! i feel like ranting so here. A pokemon au :) or, well, this one is probably more so "alternate timeline" if you're familiar with the more intricacies of fandom language. (then again this IS tumblr) ANYWHO. the main jist is "hmm. what if the whole shit with the ultimate weapon actually did make the protag (calem in this case) immortal" but with some body horror twists because i can :) more specific details under the cut as i do not wish to bombard someone's dash with my autistic ramblings

So the AU is dubbed "The Curse of Fate". originally wished to go with "the curse of life" but that. i feel like that could get misinterpreted into something else so the curse of fate it is!! As mentioned before, the big major change is that Calem gets fuckin' BEAMED:tm: by the Ultimate Weapon underneath Geosenge Town because dude didn't get out fast enough. He wasn't in the vicinity, no. directly under it. (i will note that calem is 14-ish at the time in this AU, for future reference) After a few years of "everything is totally back to normal yup yup" he kind of realizes "oh shit i am not aging like a normal human boy this is fucked up man" and not wanting to watch his friends and family die around him, ( as well as not wanting the government to find out about his predicament) he decides that he will consciously go missing. a slow and vigorous process so it isn't too shocking. staying out later, contacting people less, the stuff. eventually he does do it, and leaves his hometown for good. he travels around for a bit, specifically to Paldea early on to purchase one of those portable box things so he doesn't have to go into pokemon centers. He is just. a forest goblin, basically. living off whatever he can find. trying his best not to be seen, especially in the earlier times. he gets a bit more cocky about going out in public as the years go on. always wearing a shit ton of layers because people don't pay much attention to you that way. and as it turns out, he really likes just observing things. he does eventually encounter AZ, and things are tense between them. calem feels like he's being lectured all the time about everything since it didn't take much for AZ to realize Calem's predicament AZ on the other hand is just trying to make sure Calem doesn't fuck things up for himself and is giving advice in. his. own kind of "how the fuck do i talk to people again" way. now one may wonder "hey where's the body horror" and that, my friend, comes in with this whole headcanonned string of logic. said logic being that the energy calem was zapped by was pure life energy. and any living being can only handle so much of this. so this energy needs to find a way to "escape" to bring one's body back to equilibrium. this being in the form of crystalized half-elipsoid formations appearing on calem. unfortunately, no idea quite yet on how it will develop past that. but a main "drive" for calem is to try and fix this before it causes irreversible damage. and that's the jist!!! there are. a lot more details but this post is already super long so if anybody wants another giant rant post uh. idk, tell me lmao. finally, here's calem's design!!!

my opinion on;

character in general: It’s very easy to describe Byakuya in one word, he’s an asshole lmao. I can’t remember what my original thoughts were of him besides being very sure he would be a killer (I was certain he killed chapter 1 AND THEN chapter 2 and then I just gave up on the thought of him being a killer) but he’s a very complicated person. He’s worked hard for what he has, and he lives in a very competitive and cutthroat world and he’s adopted the correct persona to survive it so I can’t blame him for that–being nice would have gotten him nowhere. That doesn’t excuse his behavior in game though, as he was just yikes quite often. But along with the other survivors he grows, and he cares about them evident by him doing everything he can to save them in dr3. He also, despite my beliefs, never resorted to murder and that does say quite a lot about him–though he definitely has the potential to do so since there’s official art of what his execution would have been. He’s awkward and doesn’t know how to make friends because I’m sure any friends he’s ever had were shallow or betrayed him though that’s more… headcanony. I could talk about him forever but the jist of it is I do like him despite everything he’s done. Also I refuse to acknowlede dangaronpa: togami afsdhfghgh

how they play them: I actually have not seen much of your Togami so I can’t give you my opinion just yet. Though I do think he’s a difficult character to play so you have props for that. He’s mean a lot but he’s not evil, and there has to be a balance to that!

ship their character with mine: It is an interesting concept that I’ve never gotten to explore but I’ve thought about it several times. I wouldn’t be opposed to it but it’d have a lot of issues and stuff considering they both have their own separate and important duties neither would abandon, and who knows what in verses besides despairless. But of course this is all going w the idea that youre okay with it–I think they have great potential to be friends as it’d be beneficial to them both in more ways than one. hey i was just wondering how you know what your orientation is? because like for the longest time i thought i was aro but now i've noticed i have slight attraction to girls but also i'm nonbinary (but female born) so would that br considered.. het or gay or. maybe i'm pan and jist haven't had attraction to other genders this is so confusing ggghg

ill be real here, it was pretty easy for me tbh. before i even began to ~explore my gender~ id had feelings fr guys n girls alike. it was really that simple. i got crushes on bois n gurls n still do!! they feel a lot different and its kinda hard to tell what i feel sometimes (thanks neurotransmitters) but ive just kinda always known i was bi.

ofc i didnt apply the label “bisexual” to myself at the time mostly for. like. denial/internalized Things reasons, but its what i go by to this day. after realizing i liked basically anyone, i eventually got kinda. emotionally worn out and like didnt have or want a crush/s.o (at age 14 or so hah) and i was like “LOL IM PROBABLY ARO” so i went by that for a while, but it didnt really. last. i guess. im still bi even when im Depressed lmao

im honestly not the best person to ask about this kind of thing? the only advice i really have to give is just to really like. try and define for yourself what you think attraction is and explore your memories and your current feelings to get a sense of how you feel it. the only concrete thing i have to offer is just. give it time. you didnt say how old you were in your ask, anon, so im not going to assume anything bt its quite likely a piece of your identity that will come with time and experience. (heck, i still have a ways to go in that regard)

whats most important is not to pressure yourself into labels, as cliche as that may sound. you dont need one right away. it might seem comforting to just smack some lgbt jargon into all ur bios but i personally have found that to be super unhelpful in the scheme of actually figuring out how i identify myself. theres no strict guide for this kind of thing, theres no rule book that dictates how you can identify, theres no possible way that someone else can tell u what labels u should use and be right about it, at least not without you disclosing a lot of intimate and frankly inappropriate things about yourself. even then they arent you so they cant give you a label that fits you.
