AHHHH sorry ive been so busy! Just got to see my mom for the first time in half a year and christmas had me running around like a chicken without a head 😭😭 heres the Savanaclaw boys Genshin edition!
Leona just might be the laziest yet the most cunning member of the Children of Echoes! Hardly a time the other members of the tribe dont see him lounging about on the surface, soaking in the sun! Yet he somehow always stays on point with his work and skills.
I thought Geo suited him perfectly and was the closest reference to his unique magic as a vision! And Polearm because its similar to the main choice of weapon in the Sunset Savannah ! I dont imagine hes related to the chief or anything but perhaps his family is a long line of warriors who have held ancient names of especially famous fighters but Leona perhaps didnt get one? So hes ostracized from his family despite his hard work and dedication growing up. I like to think he actually gives Kachina tips on her training, part of him is jealous that she has an ancient name yet is so meek but he sees how people treat her regardless and grows a soft spot for her!
Also totally hangs out with Xilonen, its the law now, they have to be besties. I wrote somewhere (where ever those notes are please return to me 😭😭) that if Mualani thinks hes being too rough and mean eith Kachina that she'll dump water on him- good luck Leona!
RUGGIE
GUYS I CANT WAAAIIITTT TO DRAW HIS DESIGN. Somehow the one I'm most excited for (aside from Vil's 👀) he just looks so cute 😭🥰
Ruggie i made a member of the Scions of the Canopy! It feels pretty fitting in my opinion? Theyre all about thrills and action over there, Id imagine Ruggies slick nature and jack of all trades talent would be perfect for them!
Hes pretty easy going but that doesnt mean he wont try to swindle a traveller or two for some money or food while they travel to the city- ah but leave it to Kinich! He'll make sure to set him straight whether he likes it or not. Those two grew up together after all! Now i wasnt sure why, but Pyro sword felt perfect for him! Does he have an ancient name? I havent decided yet, if he does itd make for an interesting dynamic between him and Leona? 🤔 If he didnt then theyd both be two pouty babies about it XD
Regardless I love him so much-
Lastly, Jack! Who if you mightve noticed ISNT from Natlan! Instead I chose to reference his childhood home (didnt do that for everyone ofc- but its fine-) and I made him from Snezchnaya instead!
Oh and yes, he is a fatui member! He resides under Capitanos command though which is how he finds himself in Natlan for the mean time! The Captain's Blood Hound is what they call him amongst the troops. Fiercely loyal and strong to boot! No matter what Capitano chooses to do with his mission, if he sticks to the Tsaritsa or trades sides for his homeland, Jack will follow him without a moments hesitation. Definitely a soldier the others look up to! Some say theyve seen him spar almost on the same level as a certain Harbinger near the same age as him! Or that he is long time friends with the late La Signora's right hand, Vil (*wink wink* just a small sneak there for you guys to look forward to-)
Safe to say he quickly becomes a legend among the regular fatui soldiers. Same as Ruggie, I went with a vibe and his vibe said Cryo Claymore! Claymore for such an obvious reason- cryo itself tends to be in relation to family and loyalty (if you squint-) so it clicked in my brain, it could add to possible backstory you might hear whenever i get to his final copy!
Let me know what you guys think! Im sorry ive been gone so long 😭 ill try to post the next doodle set in the next few days to make up for it! And currently as final copies go, theyre gonna take much longer to do since theyre my complete artstyle and ive also decided i hate myself enough to attempt designing personal weapons as well! Currently ive completed Ace and Deuce is 70% finished, i just have to finish coloring him. It will only be flats color, rendering would take even longer- but this way if there are any other artists who wanna do fanart they could color drop the flat colors perfectly! (Or wing it, i dont mind either way-) As soon as the doodles are all posted ill start bringing in the final versions for you guys!

My commissions are currently $5 off anything that is Christmas related! Original prices are in my pinned including examples. This discludes doodle commissions, which is below if anyone is interested in that instead.
Regular doodle price $5, +$2 per character. Can come with shade or without. You can also request to have the rough sketch taken away from behind.
Rendered doodle price: $8 +$2 per character. Fully shaded and lighted. You can also request for the rough sketch to be taken away from behind.
My secondary style doodles: $8 +$3 per character. A lot more sketchy than the other offers but it is an entirely different artstyle than the ones shown above. This is mainly to get more practice in fleshing this style out.
And finally, doodle pages: $5 per character, but past 3 characters, the price per character drops to $3. If you want a render doodle page, $4 will be added ontop.
Please dm me if you are interested for any! I will happily take anything (as long as it isnt againt me TOS).

Well since you asked (and I've kinda been wondering about it) — what's chocobo's mystery dungeon like, especially compared to the pmd series?
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
im putting this under a readmore because i (redacted)
so i gotta give a bit of context first: there is an entire spin-off series of final fantasy games all protagonized by a tiny little chocobo. i bring this up first because there were two dungeon crawlers on the playstation- these set up the regular returning elements of the chocobo series (namely some main characters), and it even runs with the trend of having cid in every ff game!
the specific one i love is Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon, it was on the wii and its a very basic dungeon crawling, PMD-esque game, with a hunger meter, monster houses, etc. i think the thing that sets it apart from other dungeon crawlers gameplay-wise is that it has a job or class system much like mainline final fantasy games do, in which you unlock access to eight different jobs that completely change up the playstyle AND the difficulty of the game due to their own niches (my favorite job for example, white mage, is very high difficulty until endgame)
for me the main reason why i want more people to know about it and try to give it a chance even if its just via an emulator is the story. i might be biased here but i first played this game when i was 9 years old and it still lives rent free in my brain to this day (im 21 now for context)
to not give any spoilers, the main premise is that chocobo and cid are treasure hunters looking for a gemstone; upon finding it, they're suddenly transported to a town in seemingly a completely different world where the citizens constantly lose all their memories everytime the belltower rings
the very first night they spend in this world, a meteor crashes in from the sky, turning out to be an egg from which a baby is born. this baby then proceeds to somehow start bringing people's memories back by allowing chocobo to enter their minds
this is also why i think its such a cool concept, because it uses memories and people's minds as the main set up for dungeon crawling, even representing memories as scattered puzzle pieces. and everytime you are inside someone's memories, you can hear snippets of their thoughts as you go along, ending in the full memory being fully restored when you exit
there are a ton of memory dungeons, one for almost every npc in town, and they introduce a thing called "special rule" dungeons for non-story ones where you have to play with certain gimmicks the whole way through (1 hp, perma blindness, enemy gauntlet, stuff like that). and every single one has those snippets of lore and foreshadowing you gotta piece together, little by little, to understand the truth behind the town
for the characters, the cast is very colorful and i think everybody genuinely feels very human. granted the voice acting isnt the best but it adds so much to the charm of it. plus the designs and all the official artwork there is is just breathtaking (ive only now been noticing there are a few elements in my own art that are subconsciously inspired from this game's artstyle)
i HAVE to mention raffaello here because now that i have a bigger understanding of how tropes and storytelling work, i can say for sure that he is just so, SO crazily well written; its not all in the text, but all the worldbuilding comes together eventually and that's when it really hits
and of course i gotta bring up the soundtrack- its almost entirely comprised of arrangements of older final fantasy songs and each and everyone of them is MAGICAL. its remained as one of my favorite soundtracks for years, so much that i realized that the official disc release was incomplete and went out and put together all 42 songs in the highest quality i could to make sure it doesnt become lost (this is a very reocurring theme with this game in particular)
i want people to play it and i want to talk about it. partially its because this is my favorite game. but also because its been THIS close to being a major case of lost media. there are SO many things that have been lost to time because they were japan only or they were overwritten on the internet (including the entire japanese chocobo series website portal, thats like three different unique websites with tons of never saved artwork they nuked). so much of it i still remember but i have zero way to access it anymore and it eats me from the inside out.
its a common theme of things being lost to time with this game but its also incredibly sad and funny because the entire theme of the game is things being lost to time. ouroboros. time is a flat circle.
and... here is where i come in talking about the remake- chocobo's mystery dungeon everybuddy and why i heavily recommend the original over it
so... the original wii game had a japan only ds port with some new elements and stuff. but the main thing with it is that they changed a LOT of the story; same plot, different execution, to fit in with a ds format. the problem with this is that the remake was based off of this version and not the original one, which leads to a LOT of serious and emotional moments being gutted and sped through.
the gameplay itself is fine, they actually made it even more pmd-like by adding a companion system, and they upped the difficulty a lot if you dont know what youre doing. but the story changes genuinely kill it for me if im being honest. they retconned what made me sad about the ending at the cost of everything else (and even then im angry because that took away from the intensely emotional ending that still had me crying like a baby LAST WEEK)
in general though. i just think this game is so beautifully crafted. this game originally came out in 2007 and it still holds up SO well. the graphics are very cute and stylized, but everything is so detailed that every single part of the world feels lived in. the town is very small but i think its why it always feels like coming home. huge recommend and i refuse to die until ive convinced at least one person to play it through to the end (its been 12 years and im still trying)
#long post#i am so sorry for the essay i love this game#please anybody who reads it. please try it#please#im genuinely so alone

why you should play ajpw
ok so i know a lot of classic players like playing aj classic for nostalgia and because they dont like the artstyle as much of ajpw, and i was one of those for a while. however... this post is to maybe bring to light some stuff that i think makes ajpw fun and worth playing despite some of the minor downgrades from classic.
REGULAR UPDATES!!! this is probably the biggest reason aj classic players get bored of it and it was how i was as well. aj classic doesnt often get updates with new features and such, but ajpw gets frequent updates with new animals, new features like nightcycles and weather patterns, and items as well.
the vast majority of features and items are nonmember. it always stressed me out when my membership was ending on classic, since without membership you lose access to a lot of the game, but with ajpw most features are nonmember. you dont lose access to your dens or animals or pets when you lose membership status, and its more like a "pay once if you want this particular den/animal/pet" kind of thing.
pack runs. every month there is a different themed pack run, where you basically have to join other players and collectively search for little items or animals, like fireflies. when you collect enough, you get rewarded with armor sets as prizes. they are very fun and i like to zone out while playing a few every day. and no you dont need friends to do this, you can do it alone, or theres always random people waiting around looking for players to help them out in a run.
pets. this one is a general category because theres so much interesting stuff to do with pets in ajpw. first of all, i love how the pets run behind you instead of following exactly along like theyre part of your character model in aj classic. they kind of hop behind you and do their own pathfinding which is adorable. also, you can play with them and level them up, and put them in your den to have them walk around in a small area around where you placed them. they also can interact with objects in your den if you get their special toys, which every pet has 3 of. its super cute honestly and rn there are pet bees available which cost gems and not sapphires so def get them while theyre here.
surprisingly nice items and character models. they have snakes and shit and armor somehow still looks alright on them. idk how they did it. but anyway yeah the character models are really cute and have satisfying walk cycles that are fun to watch and use. and they have a bunch of armor sets that are honestly really good looking such as the dna armor set and the shadow armor set. armor sets also give you unique particle effects when you wear the whole set at once
a desktop app, and way less hacking. i know many people are put off by the fact that ajpw is mainly a mobile game, but it does have a desktop version that runs just fine with almost no lag and less problems with hacking than classic. seems like every week classic has a new issue with hackers, but mobile has been pretty stable which is nice.
and LAST BUT NOT LEAST..... if you join with an old aj account that hasnt used ajpw before, you get 500 free sapphires (a fucking LOT), a couple of free animals, and a free den that im pretty sure isnt in stores. honestly a sweet deal imo so if you have an old account it might be worth just checking out.
so check it out :) it sort of gives me the same nostalgia feel as being a kid and logging in on thursday to see what the new update would be, without the depressing atmosphere of a childhood playplace that is falling into disrepair. also i want friends to play it with so pls im so desperate

answering asks!
(i’ll be tackling submissions next btw)
@churgling yup! i usually prebake each part of the body/head as i finish it, starting with the eyeballs -> face -> head -> head with ears -> arms and torso -> legs-> full body with any sculpted features. i use my toaster oven to prebake the sculpey, but you can use a conventional oven or kiln as well!
typically i paint the body and face, then do the hair -> wrap the body in medical gauze to get the shape i want -> tailor and sew the clothes, though for poor waddles he had to go back in the oven after he was painted bc his lil tail and ear broke off ;w;. as long as youre baking on a low temperature and using a reasonably decent quality acrylic paint, your sculpture can go back in the oven even after it’s painted!
if you’re looking to get started out on making figures and dolls, i learned most of what i know from SugarCharmShop and their polymer clay character doll series on youtube! their videos are great and super helpful to get you the info you need and what materials you should use (personally if youre starting out i recommend the regular white sculpey instead of the premo - it does smear and imprint easier, but it’s cheaper which allows for more mistakes/retries! plus it takes to paint a little bit better being an uncolored base). let me know if you want to know what specific tools and materials i use! good luck, and thanks for the support! ^v^
@thatweirdgirlyouallknow i haven’t yet! it’s on my to-watch list though, i’ll make sure to check it out soon! :]
@findmeagoodcliff are you talking about the piedmont moodboards? if so, norman is edward zo and dipper is tumblr user cnarlesxavier and a model i don’t remember the name of? i can’t find the original photo but if i find his name i’ll let you know!
@l-something-witty-l thank you! that’s a really cool idea, and i love any interaction between sara and the grunkles (i actually tossed around the idea of sara and ford having correspondance pre-portal since she wanted to go into a similar scientific field, but realized that ford was sucked into the portal WELL before sara would even be of an age to know who ford is, all the way back in 1982, when sara was only 10 ;^; ).
sara’s mom, donna williams, is also an identical twin! it runs on both sides of the family, but i haven’t had the chance to tackle sara’s side of the family yet bc THE EXTENDED PINES FAMILY IS FRICKIN HUGE!!! WHOOF!!! i will hopefully get to it though, there are a lot of characters and plotlines left to explore!
@magic-goddess not thinking about writing a fic at the moment! i’m throwing the idea of a comic around, but i have a million projects piling up atm, so it’ll probably just stay the synopses and one-off art pieces for now unless someone else decides to pick it up!
@conversation-rule-mama thank you! 😊 i’ve struggled with sameface (and body) a good bit in the past, especially considering most of the art i draw is of identical twins, and it mostly comes down to practice and observation - i recommend line-of-action and studying the work of professional character designers like craig mccracken, but i do have a few lil tricks i like to use.
here we’ve got darlene, courtney, and pacifica - all blondes who i draw with sharp noses, heavy lids, and round faces. how do you tell them apart? i switched up the design of the eyebrows, eye shape, and face shape to align with both their canon design and my own artstyle and headcanons.
it’s important that even without their hair or signature outfit, you can tell them apart by their personality/body language. study the way a character moves, talks, and how their face in particular moves when they do so! copying directly from the media itself is actually immensely helpful for character design - i did a ton of this in high school when developing my art design, and ive got pages full of faces from disney and dreamworks movies to prove it!
i also tend to slip into the dreaded ‘calarts beanface’ as my default human face, which isnt as bad as they make it seem tbh, but i’d definitely recommend changing up your face shapes if you notice it slipping into a very same-y territory. try square, oval, or really wacky shapes to shake it up!
@skywalkerchick1138 THAT WOULD BE AMAZING! of course you have my permission, and i’m super happy you like it enough to consider writing fic for it! fire away! (ノ^∇^) ノ☆.。.:*・°☆
and as always, thanks to @shinybubungus , @holychipp , @blubellbay , @poseidead , @rainbowtubastudios , @screwthepurplegiraffe , @lakesandquarries , @the-sunflower-spaceman , @stormyghosts , and @awblake for your kind and encouraging messages! i really appreciate y’all taking the time to support your local artist, and i’ll keep on trucking thanks to you! if anyone sent me an ask and it wasnt addressed here, it probably got vored by the endless yawning abyss of tumblr, so feel free to send it again and i’ll get to it soon! stay fresh and fruity everybody!
#asks#.txt#long post#gravity falls#otgw#paranorman#i'll tuck this under a readmore in the morning but for now HAVE MY FULL AND UNFETTERED EXPLANATIONS FOR EVERYTHING WOOOOOOO#ask to tag

Some starter art tips for Art Goblins!
A kind fellow on Twitter asked for some starting art tips! and i’m always happy to help!
First a little heads up, this isn’t a be all end all tips guide there are plenty of other things that you can do to get better but these are most important to my Goblin person. These Tips are in no order of importance just as they come to me.
• Think and Draw everything as if it is made out of 3D shapes, before you start drawing anything try and learn to draw regular 3D shapes in various perspectives (I.E. An eyeball is a sphere with the eyelids being thin rectangles covering it)
• DRAW FROM LIFE!!! I can’t stress this enough, drawing anything from fantasy to anime to straight up realism you gotta learn the rules before you break them, Also look at human skulls however possible (graverobber fandom i’m looking at you!) as it helps you learn how to place things upon a face.
• Perspective and size comparison, in many cases things look flat in non shaded drawings simply because the perspective is off, comparison helps keep everything you are drawing the right size the best way to do that? start with one thing as a reference then draw everything else in size relation to it, i’m not the best at perspective but it is super important!
• Try to draw with long confident lines instead of doing many quick short lines, this wont come straight away so try your best to practice it! practice by painting circles with only one stroke (harder than you think friendo!)
Painting
• Paint from life! just like drawing from life painting from life is just as important, that doesn’t mean from photos though try to get out there and paint from what you see, use it to learn values and their relationships (values are super important in realism painting and just in general)
(i don’t have many painting tips because i don’t want to flood this with them)
General Tips
• USE JEALOUSY! everyone gets jealous at other artists but never let it discourage you, use it to fuel your growth and steal their powers and if you like their artstyle alot learn from them! adapt it to be your artstyle, never be afraid to ask another artist how they do it! they will be so happy to help you because you look up to them!
• Don’t worry about mistakes Art is like 80% hating what you have done but dont be discouraged because it will mean everything when you get it right, Don’t be afraid to ask yourself or others for critiques on good or ‘bad’ works, It will show you what your flaws are and will allow you to focus on working on that!
• Work on multiple artworks/ studies/ doodles at once, Your silly little artist eyes get used to what you are drawing and in some cases it will look wildly different when you come back to it and continuing will cause mistakes to compound up, So take a break from once piece and go draw or do something else then return to the old piece and you will see what the problems are.
• You can improve and draw regardless of if it is digital or traditional, it isnt the tools that will take you farther, keep a sketchbook or notepad with a pen or pencil wherever you go, it will also help you to learn from life drawing too!
• Always do a doodle or drawing everyday, no matter the medium JUST DO IT! (bad memes)
• Every piece doesn’t have to be a masterpiece, as long as you take something away from the piece it was worth it, even if you didn’t, you tried and that more than i can say than alot of other people!
• If you think you are stuck in an artist ‘slump’ it happens i’ve been there, wanna know the trick to get out of it? go get inspired outside inside WHEREVER take inspiration from a friggin chicken or just do fanart BUT MOST OF ALL! if you are in a slump and don’t know what to do, do studies!
• and finally, if you are worried people will be upset or angry because you didn’t paint or draw a flavor of the month character or whatever and instead you did studies, people are happy to see your studies as they can learn from it too and will be just as excited to see the studies, your journey is just as important as the destination!
Thanks for reading and i hope i helped and inspired starter artists, i’d love to field any other question you have, critique works or just chat, please follow me so i can follow back artists and if you need to talk message me here or email me at [email protected]
Keep Painting you disgusting little Art Goblins.

1-20 for the OC thing
oh jeeze thanks
[fair warning im no writer, my oc probably isnt super interesting. at least shes not just a stock character though]
1. What's their full name? If they're an alien and their name is in their native planet's language, have you thought about what it means? - Myla. i dont think tieflings have last names usually? so she just has the first name. also its not an infernal-sounding name because she was born and spent the first few years of her life in a major city with lots of humans, so the closer to ”normal”” she was the better, discrimination-wise
2. Say your OC made a playlist on Spotify. What bands would be on that playlist? Any specific genres? - she would probably listen to a lot of indie/alternative stuff, and would probably gravitate towards moody acoustic stuff
3. What kind of video games would they play? Any specific titles? - anything with a focus on puzzlesolving, mystery, or exploration. i think she would be more likely to spend hundreds of hours on a few games rather than play a whole bunch of games just once, and she probably wrote the gamefaq walkthroughs for those games that she did focus on
4. What would their favorite cartoons be, and why? What would their favorite characters be? - off the top of my head, gravity falls, again for the mystery component. but also because bill would provide some inspiration for applications of the thaumaturgy cantrip.
5. What's their favorite type of weather? Do they like to do anything specific on days when the weather is how they like it? - shes quite a recluse, so she probably prefers overcast or light rain. those would be the days when she’d go off into the forest to scavenge for anything potentially useful for spells/magic
6. If they're a fan of Hot Chocolate, Tea, or Coffee, how do they like either of those drinks prepared? - normally tea, but if she really needed to feel cozy then she’d go for hot chocolate
7. What kind of animals would they like as a pet? What names would they give their pets if they got any? If they already have pet's what are their names? - she doesnt have a pet, but she’s been practicing summoning a familiar. no name for it yet because she hasnt commited to what form she prefers it to take yet, but she’s leaning towards either a mongoose or some kind of bird.
8. How does your OC keep track of time? Do they have a planner? A calendar? - poorly. not that she couldn’t if she wanted to, she just doesnt care most of the time. when the need does strike her, she tends to just peek out through the blinds.
9. How do they write? Do they write in cursive? How do they dot their i's and j's? Do they have specific ways that they write certain letters? - a messy scrawl to the point of near illegibility, but she still dots the i’s and j’s. she writes very quickly to try and get as much information written down as she can as efficiently as possible. the downside of this is that half the time it will take her a second to figure out what she wrote down.
10. What's their favorite time of day? - early night, the best time to pour over research without still being groggy from sleep, or needing more yet.
11. What kinds of foods and drinks do they like? Do they like certain foods to be fried? Do they prefer certain foods to be prepared hot/cold? - as a tiefling, she probably prefers most food she eats to be warm, but thats about it. low effort foods would be her best friend, i doubt she cares to spend the time cooking. too much stress to make a big meal.
12. If they were an actual character in an animated film or TV series, who would they be voiced by? Do they have a certain accent that the person would need to perfect? - her voice is mostly just a slightly more strained ms pauling, so i guess ashly burch would be her actress.
13. If you are an artist, and if your OC can draw as well, could you replicate what their artstyle looks like? Or, if you can't, could you describe it? - she would mostly be drawing diagrams, so they would be some sort of facsimile of realism, but without many artistic flourishes
14. If your OC owned a Tumblr blog, what kind of content would they post? - she would have two blogs. one: a doccumentation blog detailing any and all discoveries she made, with diligently maintained masterlists for every concievable topic, and two: a forest/astronomy aesthetic sideblog
15. How do they type? Do they use emojis? Do abbreviate and shorten words? - she probably types with some semblance of grammar during doccumentation, and when writing things impersonally, but during regular conversation she probably uses very little, to the point of it being kind of hard to tell what shes saying. she probably wouldnt use emojis unless it was ironically, but she definitely abbreviates words a lot, again to the detriment of the legibility.
16. If your OC was a film director, what kind of movies would they make? - a doccumentary. about magic or something.
17. If your OC was a musical artist, what genres would they do? - same stuff as on the playlist from one of the earlier questions
18. What type of singing voice does your OC have? - probably not one very good. she spent enough years completely alone that her normal speaking voice isnt very strong, though she can preform magic phrases with near perfect resonance.
19. Does your OC like to collect things? What kind of things do they collect? - literally any and all information. she’s gotta doccument everything she can.
20. Was your OC inspired by anything? Another character? A person? - honestly she was based a little on cornifer, and to a lesser extent quirrel, from hollow knight. i liked the idea of having a character who goes around exploring for the sake of gaining knowledge and writing it down, collecting a huge supository in the process. then i figured she would have spent a lot of time cooped up studying before she would need to go out into the world, and from there i got the fact that her social skills probably suffered on account of that. then i just added a semi-tragic reason for her to have withdrawn into study in the first place.
god that took longer to do than i thought it would
