Villain was fuming under their breath as they hauled Hero onto the shore, dropping them in the sand before moving to kneel next to them.

"Of course the idiot doesn't tell me they can't swim until-"

Forty hard chest compressions, throwing most of their weight into the force. Still ranting, Villain then shifted to give them mouth-to-mouth, muttering between presses of their lips together.

"And they thought it'd be a fantastic idea to go after me! When I was fine in the water and now they've got us stranded-"

Back to chest compressions, their endless tirade of angry words never letting up.

"They've made the whole situation worse and now I'm stuck on an island with a moronic hero who can't swim-"

At last Hero coughed, Villain helped them roll over to their side. Saltwater and who knew what else streamed out of their mouth, before they flopped back onto their back and gasped for air.

"Good, you're alive." Villain glared down at them, Hero squinted up at them, their vision still focusing. "That means I can kill you myself for trapping us here."

Congrats you have hit my battleship (a WIP ficlet I have not mentioned I think ever before 😂 it’s from 2022 lol)

The Sapphire twirled a dagger between fingers, darkened silver flashing, but its edges are far too dulled to do any good or any bad. That isn’t why she carried it. No, her power had nothing to do with steel. The blade was ornamental, a gift from her lover that he had fished from the sea, coated in the blood of the last rival of the Gem Court. The Sapphire now stood alone, above; ruler beloved and hated.

But she was not alone in the room now. Standing as tall as she was seated, another figure was mere feet away with a hand on her own weapon. A crossbow the Sapphire knew carried an enchantment and a poison.

“Let’s talk plainly.” The Goblin Queen (but not that goblin queen. This enemy of an enemy was merely crowned queen through her misdeeds). “I don’t like it when people use fancy words to try and cover their shit with the very hand they’re trying to shake. I got a boy who needs something I can’t give him. I know you have a prisoner you’re trying to get rid of. I think we have two problems we can hit with one solution.”

The Sapphire crossed her legs, a series of charms and bells tinkling from her layered skirts. The Goblin Queen’s eyes couldn’t help but follow the motion. The Sapphire rather liked the Queen; she appreciated a fellow woman who got her own hands messy and seized power from those undeserving. But she wasn’t telling the full story, that was clear as day.

A whisper in her ear, “She’s a tricky one”.

“Oh, I know that, silly goose.” The Sapphire twirled her dagger and threw it on the ground between them. It bounced harmlessly. The Queen raised an eyebrow.

“My purple prisoner is kinda sorta my friend now. Turns out he’s extremely intelligent and has very interesting ideas about how power works around here and elsewhere.” She grinned, the gems embedded in her teeth twinkling.

The Queen bowed her head but returned the grin. “My boy loves a big brain. And you and I know we’re the biggest bitches around here, even if a certain bloody faction keeps trying to say otherwise.”

The Sapphire tilted her head. She was listening.

“Why not?” The Queen stood to her full height, looking formidable and still so, so tricky. The Sapphire could see them becoming friends in another universe. “Why not let the two boys play?”

as the Outlander and Nerevar are technically separate characters, Ill be answering for the two of them...

The Outlander - would essentially describe themselves as... 'okay, i guess.' Theyre not particularly remarkable, and theyre at least self aware, and they try to be not so attention grabbing.

Nerevar - on the other hand, would describe himself as 'naturally the best' in a sort of joking way, he himself doesn't necessarily believe this lines up with his character, but fake it till you make it, yknow

girl i hate the cold too. idk where u live but rn in the southern hemisphere its FREEZING. the cold feels like icey thin needles being shoved into my skin. and it makes my back and neck tired and often just makes me want to start sobbing. also by cold i mean under 15c lol. but in the mornings its normally 0 degrees and when i was younger my house wasnt insulated, i could SEE MY BREATH inside!! getting outta bed WAS HELL and i just wanted to sleeeeppppp. yous are so lucky to almost have summer! (i think, ur northern hem girlie right?) hopefully your exams go well tho. (also unrelated but im studying psychology as well!!)
