Okay but one-sided staticradio from an outsider's pov within their universe has got to be, like, objectively so funny. Like, you have a guy with a TV for a head who's got beef with a sadistic deer radio host (who also decided to sponsor the princess of hell's hotel) singing about how said rival is now a washed up nobody with no power. And then you see that said radio host literally could not give a fuck about what his supposed rival is doing until the guy with a TV for a head says something that pisses said radio host off so bad that all cards are off the table. All while said TV headed guy is obviously seething with lust every time he even interacts in any form with said radio host. Like, wow. That has to be so amusing to watch from the outside
#listen. i know some of this doesn't make sense. but also.#i have no idea how to phrase this properly without losing sense. because in my mind it's phrased differently. but also incoherent.#so take what you will from this#one-sided staticradio is something that can be just so personal#staticradio#staticlovetune#radiostatic#alastor#vox#hazbin hotel#hazbin hotel spoilers#yuri.txt

I really want to see a more fucked up version of Charlie in canon. Like, okay, I am a die-hard for sweet bubbly girls in media. But I always see how some people make Charlie actually, oh I dunno... demonic? And it's so refreshing for her type of character. I could honestly see her having low empathy (and we kinda see this with how she handled Angel's situation or even Vaggie's nervousness about taking control on an activity). An exploration of that trait (if it was intended) would be interesting to see for a protagonist, especially when her main goal is about helping others. I would love to see her actually have a level of difficulty in understanding others' feelings from the other residents, sinners, and even her father.
But give her a fucked up side. Not a "she gets more power when she's angey uwu", but a "oh, she's a little fucked in the head". It would give so much to her character that she just doesn't have.
@/murmurmurena (don't wanna bother them so slash there we go) has some fun ideas with Charlie. I highly encourage people to check their stuff out! So many fun dark ideas with her character while also still keeping to her canon personality pretty well! Personally, I think Charlie being a bit more naive to her own messed up traits would work best but her also being aware of these traits can make for some interesting character for her.
THIS FIC, "A Game Between You and I". RIGHT HERE WITH THE FIRST CHAPTER. A bit of spoil for the fic here: but I love how they handled Charlie’s absolute ignorance as to why the idea of Russian roulette is horrifying to Angel Dust. It doesn't feel like her being intentionally malicious or aware that she's the odd man out here. This is also a pretty old fic going by only the pilot, but the point still stands that it was such a fun take for her character!
Charlie is one of my favorite characters in the show in part of the POTENTIAL she could have as being the most bubbly sweetheart character while also being the most messed up character in the show. I can't say I have strong confidence with the show's writing and fully expect them to stick with Charlie being the "nice girl but oh no, don't get her angry or she gets scarwy". Which isn't bad for a character mind you, there's just so much more potential to Charlie outside of that trope, especially when you get into the theories of her either being a doll, Roo's biological daughter, or what have you. And for the MAIN CHARACTER of the show, it would be not only interesting but also bring the spotlight back to her.
There's really no question that the side characters steal the show, particularly all the male characters. If I'm honest, Charlie does not feel like she gets a lot of love from the show itself when she's supposed to be the main character. She feels far more flat compared to the rest of the characters (again, the male cast in this "female-lead" show has more depth than most of the female cast currently. I wouldn't be pointing this tidbit concerning the genders of characters if it weren't for the fact Viv defended Helluva's lack of development with their female cast by saying "Hazbin is a female-lead show and Helluva is a male-lead" and Hazbin ended up with it not feeling female lead (to me) and the male cast just completely stealing the show. I don't normally care about gender stuff, especially since I do personally lean interest towards male characters. But using one show as a defense for poor development of the female characters, and then that show not really holding up with no very interesting well-developed feeling female characters irritates me. It's just very clear that these shows don't seem to care much about the female cast :/)
If you like how Charlie is written that's totally fine. PERSONALLY, I just think they're missing so much opportunity with her character by just making her the standard female character type. I honestly don't have a lot of faith they'll actually do something with Charlie's character though. She's a pretty static character in S1 being the same from start to end. Not changing or learning anything to create any development. What does the end of season Charlie do that start of season Charlie wouldn't do? Fight back? Because we see with the pilot (which is the “first episode”) that Charlie does fight people if pushed like with Katie Killjoy and even Valentino. Static characters can work in media depending on the show or their role. But Charlie is the MC of a show about “bettering one's self”. So to have her as a static with not a lot of strong dilemmas for herself (like we see with Angel Husk Al and even Vox) seems silly. Plus, considering Hazbin is telling a whole story and it's not a fun episodic thing, characters are expected to grow on some level. Or else, what was the point of their hero's journey?
#I honestly have a lot of problems with Hazbin's storytelling#That the limited time of doing plot doesn't even help it and shouldn't be used to shield the show from criticisms#Especially when you can find the same issues in Helluva Boss that has no excuse with the writing (though it's getting a bit better)#I love this show but goodness gracious it makes me have a tangent about it#Charlie's unimpactful character writing just being one of MANY issues#Hopefully the crew take all the criticisms into account for S3#S2 if possible would be nice but they probably had it all scripted by the time S1 was airing.#No shame on the female cast either they're fine. But when you compare them to the given depth of characters like Angel Husk Alastor and Vox#They're pretty lackluster. Vaggie's probably the closest to a female character with a lot of layers we've seen in the show#And she wasn't done very well with being essentially just “Charlie's GF” with not much identity outside of that explored much#Some of this may be more personal takes but it's frustrating. Again I don't normally care about gender stuff in media#It was just the excuse to Millie and Loona lacking development that bothers me#Like Hazbin is supposed to make up Helluva's poor writing of their main female leads#Loona got a bit of love with the Bee ep and Verosika and Octavia are pretty good. Particularly V with her relationship with Blitz#Whenever I start talking about aspects of Hazbin's writing I always end up ranting a bit (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)⁄#Celtrist#cel rambles#hazbin hotel#hazbin hotel charlie#charlie morningstar#hazbin critique#hazbin criticism#hazbin critical#hazbin hotel critical#hazbin hotel criticism#hazbin hotel critique#hazbin hotel rant#You can really love something and still be critical with it#I do it out of love I swear#You're not in the Sonic fandom for like 22 yrs and don't learn to be critical of the media you enjoy lol

it is very fun to me that the legend of vox machina is finally daring to ask the question what if you COULD edit a dnd campaign. what if you COULD look at it as a whole story, beginning to end, and decide what needs to be kept and what can be cut, what was inconsequential to the overall plot but integral to a particular character arc, what works better done in a different order or merged together, what characters can be introduced earlier or in a different place or together. it's really really fun to think of the campaign itself as sort of a "rough draft" and watch how it shifts
#ofc with tlovm there's also the change in medium so like. actual play as a medium HAS space for things animation necessarily doesn't#and they're trying to accomplish different things. but still#two of the campaigns i dm are nearing their ending right now so i've been thinking about this a lot#how it's crazy that you only ever get one shot at it with ttrpgs you HAVE to nail it first try because you don't get to edit#when there are ALWAYS things in stories i'd do differently in hindsight#tlovm#the legend of vox machina

this might be a bit ooc, but hc that vox has a history of getting caught up in the moment and accidentally sharing deeply personal information about himself with both alastor and valentino. it always comes back to bite him, since neither of them have any scruples whatsoever about using that information against him in petty (or not so petty) arguments. he can never stop himself though. love makes you stupid and impulsive.
#this isn't meant to be an uwu feel bad for vox headcanon#dude just talks too much and forgets to have a filter with the guys he likes#but i can't figure out a way to phrase it that doesn't sound at least a little bit sad#man who doesn't trust anyone can't stop himself from inadvertently trusting the worst people on the planet#val has like. a mental catalogue of all of vox's sore spots that he's impulsively revealed over the years#it makes it very easy for val to be absolutely cutting in an argument if he wants to be#hazbin hotel#vox#staticmoth#radiostatic#radiosilence#kind of#redlady speaks#i feel like i need to watch the show again#i guess that's one good thing about this season being so short; rewatching it isn't that much of a time investment#hazbin posting

Random scene idea: Niffty is having Angel, Husk, and Cherri over for dinner at her apartment in Heaven. Pentious is supposed to join them after his shift at the orientation center is done. Niffty's completely at ease, putting the finishing touches on the meal, when her phone starts ringing; it's Pentious calling. Niffty picks up, expecting to be told that he's running late, only to be hit with him babbling at a mile-a-minute about something– someone arriving in Heaven. She manages to make herself heard over his rambling and asks for him to back up– who's arrived? Niffty goes stock-still when she hears him say "Vox."
Niffty's scrambling now, trying to turn off the stove and find her shoes and get as much information out of Pen as possible. She tells him she's leaving now just as Angel and Husk enter the kitchen to see what all the commotion is about. Niffty frantically tells them that Vox has ascended (somehow) and is at the orientation center with Pentious. Husk and Angel express their shock as Cherri pokes her head in to see what's going on. Niffty finally finds everything she needs and straightens up, only to pause when her gaze falls upon Angel. Frantic and apologetic, she tells him she has to go. It's... he's the only other person who... she knows... she's sorry– Angel cuts her off. Calmly, he tells her to go; they'll do dinner another time. Niffty feels herself tearing up, but– no time. She rushes out the door to catch the first bus to the orientation center.
#angel doesn't have any interest in ever seeing vox again#but he's certainly not going to begrudge niffty for caring about the only other person in the world who went through the same thing as her#he knows vox has been weighing on her mind ever since she arrived in heaven#and if reconnecting with him is what'll bring one of his closest friends peace#then so be it#niffty (ram)#angel dust (ram)#sir pentious (ram)#neutral#endings#randomly accessed memories#The Heaven Ending

Arghg I love your au!
I was wondering how public the knowledge Alastor’s and Lucifer’s relationship would go?
In other posts the other hotel residents find out but I’d imagine Alastor wouldn’t want this to get out as it might not be good for his image (and not wanting someone like Vox finding out). But I also can’t imagine Charlie or Lucifer (or really any of the residents) being all that discreet.
Arghg thank you! Much appreciated!
With Lucifer now a permanent fixture at the hotel and Charlie becoming increasingly involved in the destabilization of Heaven's foundation, the secret does have an expiration date. Particularly once Lucifer himself learns Alastor's his son. I don't think that any of the hotel residents would go spilling it, since they're a pretty tight knit group. So far, only Angel Dust is really shown to have a social life outside of the hotel, and I think he of all people knows how important it is to keep a tight lid on certain family secrets, given he was a gay man in a mafia family in the 40s. Frank might, but he says insane shit all the time. Possibly Adam if he returns as a sinner, and if Vaggie doesn't punch his teeth into the back of his throat first.
I imagine his guilt over not being there for Alastor when he was a kid, the revelation that Alastor nearly died fighting Adam, and Alastor's lingering wound and broken staff would lead Lucifer to be a tad protective. Alastor, on the other hand, would prefer to go about his normal routine as though nothing's changed. Vox is very actively trying to tear down his reputation, so it's more important than ever that Alastor show his face in public so everyone knows he's as strong and dangerous as ever. Lucifer's hovering doesn't help with that. With cocky sinners trying to take their shot, and the Vees scheming, Lucifer only clings tighter, and Alastor fights harder to prove he's unaffected.
I can see either Vox finding out the truth through his stalking, or by making some overt move against Alastor that forces Lucifer to step in to protect him. Either way, once Vox knows, it's only a matter of time before the rest of the Pride Ring does. And the public blows up over it.
Alastor's famous for being the only mortal soul to manifest in hell with such incredible power. Only, he's not a mortal soul after all! He's a royal bastard masquerading as one. No wonder he's helping out at Charlie's stupid hotel. Obviously he has a soft side towards his sister! Suddenly he's not the Radio Demon anymore. He's just the Devil's Bastard.
The carefully cultivated reputation Alastor has built suffers a heavy blow. Although Lucifer is undoubtedly the most powerful being in Hell, the sinners don't have much respect for him as a ruler. They don't so much fear his power as the idea of it, since he hasn't really done much with it in his time as King of Hell. There's no real prestige to be gained from the relation. Plus, a very large part of Alastor's power came from the mystique behind his rise. The reason was so feared was because nobody knew how he was as powerful as he was, and now that there's an explanation, he loses that. Needless to say, he's not holding up so well when the truth comes out to the public. (Cue another dramatic musical monologue.)
Knowing what jerks the people of Hell are, you can imagine the field day the news would have. Lucifer gets ripped apart by Katie Killjoy for being a no-good husband on top of being a no-good king, people are questioning whether Alastor's really as fearsome as he pretends to be, and the Vees are trying to find a way to spin this to their advantage. Lucifer's panicking - it's not like he was embarrassed of Alastor or so he says, but he wanted to be the one to tell Lilith, not have it get back to her like this - and Alastor feels like he's being strangled - by his deal, by the public response, by Charlie and Lucifer. He needs to do something to fix this, but the situation is spiraling ever out of his control.
#ask#anonymous#Hazbin Hotel#the Devil's Bastard AU#Alastor#Lucifer Morningstar#Alastor's not having a good time#tbh no one really is#Valentino offhandedly jokes that Vox should have tried harder to get Alastor on their side#but Vox somewhat agrees with the assessment#one silver lining is that the Vees do reluctantly pull back the pressure they've been putting on Alastor#bc they need to reassess this new information#on the one hand it doesn't seem like Alastor and Lucifer are exactly on good terms#on the other the other they all watched Lucifer wreck the first man's shit live#as much as Vox is reveling in the damage done to Alastor's persona he's not pleased that Alastor essentially has an unbreachable shield now

RadioStatic Week, Day 2: Vintage / Modern
We were writing this for other reasons, but then realized it happens to fit the prompt for today, so... figured we'd post it. We probably don't have the energy to participate in a lot of the days for this week, but we're excited to see more of what other people create, regardless!
Summary: A year into Alastor's disappearance, Vox makes one last attempt to reach out to the demon -- he hosts a radio broadcast.
Title: Old-Timey
Day three hundred and sixty-five since the last time Vox had heard from Alastor. Not that he'd been keeping track. He only had the date memorized, of course, and he just happened to look at the calendar and notice how many days had passed. Just like he did every day. It was part of his daily routine, not that he would ever admit it. It just so happened that he had a calendar posted on his door, which he looked at every day before exiting his room. Of course he'd look, because how would he not look at before leaving his room? It only made sense.
But as much as he didn't want to admit it, he'd started actually growing concerned for the old prick. An extermination had passed, not too long ago, and Vox wanted some kind of confirmation that Alastor was still alive. Even more, he wanted to know that his old friend cared, but he knew that was asking too much.
Still, he had an idea. He had the right equipment for it. Though radio broadcasts weren't his thing, what if...? It was a long shot, but if anything would catch the Radio Demon's attention enough to get a response, it would be Vox, the modern television overlord, going live on the air an old-timey piece of junk.
He wouldn't abandon his TV equipment, of course. He'd simply both avenues at once. Talk about the Radio Demon's mysterious disappearance, perhaps. It was as interesting as any news segment that bitch Katie Killjoy could come up with. Most of her shit consisted of boring, desperate grabs for views. At least Voxtek could come up with things that garnered actual interest. The hypnotism didn't hurt, either.
"... And three. Two. One. Going live!"
Travis, the studio director who bounced back and forth between shooting for Vox's segments and Val's pornography happened to be in charge of cameras, that day. He was mediocre at the radio tech, but they managed. And with the push of a few buttons, he saw the green light that let him know he was live not only on the television, but also on the more traditional radio waves. The perfect venue for grabbing the attention of all citizens of hell. Not only the most up-to-date ones.
"Annnnd good day, fine sinners!" Vox grinned into the camera, his hands folded in front of him. "Today's broadcast is brought to you by Voxtek. Trust *us* with your news." His eye sent out waves of persuasion, for only a moment. Today, he was all about the audio. And no one, not even -- or especially not -- Alastor, would be able to hear the hypnotic frequencies. He had to rely on his charm and showmanship, today. But that was not a problem.
He cleared his throat. "I come live to you in a rather unique format. Yes, this time, I'm broadcasting over the radio, too. A little bit of traditional medium for old time's sake, right? It doesn't hurt, every once in a while." He laughed, to himself. Then he continued. "Now, we've got a special topic this morning, and it's the reason I've decided on this dual transmission. As some of you may be aware, the Radio Demon hasn't been around in quite some time." Speaking the words gave them a truth he didn't want to think about, but Vox kept the grin plastered on his face like his life depended on it. He refused to slip up. "In fact, it's been an entire year since his last reported sighting!" Not that he had checked every social media platform in case of any mention of the Radio Demon.
Except that was exactly what he'd done. And as the overlord of technology, he'd been able to keep an eye on cameras and through screens all throughout the Pentagram. Sure enough, Alastor was nowhere to be seen. That is, nowhere that modern technology had any reach, at the very least. He still didn't want to believe him to be dead, but the fact Alastor would work so hard to avoid any detection or communication with Vox was also infuriating. As if had never meant anything to the other overlord. Maybe he hadn't. But he didn't need to think about that.
"Now, there has been some speculation on where he's been. Having a nice vacay off-the-grid, entrapped by another, more powerful, overlord..." The last one didn't seem likely -- or at least had been a possibility Vox feared the thought of. The Radio Demon was already quite powerful to begin with. "Some even speculate that the demon might not be among us any longer at all!" That would be much worse, of course.
"But hey, maybe there are some upsides to this change of pace, am I right?" He said this only because he knew that if anything would get a response from Alastor, it would be demeaning his choice form of expression. "I mean, radio is so outdated. It's about time we give Hell a more modern entertainment makeover. And sure, as I said, radio can be fun every once in a while, but who wants to rely on only barely audible sources of pleasure? With no visuals?" He laughed. "Please. That's so old school. And we've got much better means of enjoyment, nowadays."
He paused. Half-expecting the Radio Demon to interrupt his broadcast. Such a thing certainly wasn't unheard of before. Alastor enjoyed displacing mediocre radio hosts. And though Vox was confident in his ability to entertain, he knew that his old thought of himself as superior. Maybe he was right; maybe he was wrong. Regardless, it was his opinion that made the difference, and yet, Vox's program remained uninterrupted. It was almost disappointing.
So Vox continued, sharing some of the theories and speculation he'd found online about Alastor's disappearance. All found while searching for any signs of him being spotted anywhere. Stories were all kept anonymous, and there were a few ideas he made up himself. But no one needed to know that. The viewers, the listeners, they were just there for the entertainment and fun. Most of them didn't care about what was genuine or not, so long as it was enthralling, and technically, Vox wasn't lying about anything -- only pretending that the speculator of some of the rumors wasn't himself.
The segment Vox had planned out was only about an hour long, and as the top of the hour began rapidly approaching, he started to feel more restless and agitated. It became clear that Alastor really wasn't listening. Or at least, wasn't planning on showing it. Responding at all. What an ass. A year of absolutely no contact after an argument-induced battle, no way of even knowing how he could possibly contact his old friend, and all after Vox had dared ask Alastor to join him in expanding the medium he worked with? As if it was such a major offense. At least Valentino and Velvette supported him, even though they didn't seem to understand, either. They didn't understand the joy of broadcasting, not in the same way Alastor had. They'd had that in common, and he still had been too stubborn to stray from radio, even a little bit.
"Well, that about wraps it up for this broadcast," Vox chimed as happily as he could muster. The viewers, he knew, didn't care whether the grin was genuine or forced, and most didn't know it was the latter anyway. "We'll be back later for some more daily news. In the meantime, I leave you with this ad from our sponsor. And don't forget: You can always trust us, Voxtek, with your entertainment."
As soon as the cameras shut off, Vox's smile faltered, but he plastered it right back on when Travis came up to him.
"We're done here, right?" He asked. "'Cause Val's expecting me down at his studio for a shoot. The rest of the camera crew can handle the afternoon broadcast for you."
"Yeah, yeah," Vox waved him off. "Go help Val. He won't let me hear the end of it, if I keep you." It was good news, though, if Valentino was going to be busy with a shoot. He knew Velvette had her work, too. And he just wanted to be alone.
He retreated to his room and sat surrounded by his screens, all connected to cameras and tech across town. City-wide surveillance. Vox flipped through different feeds absent-mindedly. As always, in the back of his mind, he was searching for one specific person. But he should have known, by now, it was pointless.
What if something really had happened to him? Vox shook his head, sighing at the thought. No. Alastor was too tough for that. He was the Radio Demon. No, it seemed more plausible that he was simply avoiding Vox. Avoiding all detection. How, Vox wasn't sure. Strange that he could disappear so effectively. But, of course, if anyone could do such a thing, it would be Alastor. For whatever his reasons, Alastor knew how to remove himself from the public view if he needed to. That was their thing, of course, media and coverage of different sorts. Vox figured he, too, could avoid being detected, if he'd wished.
Vox sighed. It was time to just admit what he didn't want to before. Whatever he had with Alastor before, if he ever had anything at all -- it was over. Truly. By this point? Any hope of having it back was futile.
The aching became rage, like a protective shield. Rage, bitterness, was easier to handle. It meant he wasn't being hurt, but that he was the one in control. He was the one that would do the hurting, if it ever came down to it. If he ever saw Alastor again. That had been one thing he'd learned from the Radio Demon. Always find a way to keep the upper hand.
With his control over technology, now, he would. And someday, Alastor would see what he left behind.

Hazbin AU: The year is 1942, and America has just joined the war. In order to provide a distraction to the American populace, up and coming TV host Vincent Price has been sent to New Orleans to get an interview with the most vocally anti-TV radio host they could find. It's a fun rivalry to captivate the American people and keep them from worrying. Alastor's expecting to hate the change of pace, but for a whirlwind couple of weeks, they find each other crashing into one another's orbits and mediums.

pro-tip: when (almost) every character says fuck, it ceases to have any impactful meaning at all and flattens the characterizations, especially when it comes to how they react to the unexpected or scary
#watching the legend of vox machina and this is like. not even kidding one of my main complaints#it also gives mcu humor at times which would be fine if it was one or two characters. but all of them?#also wrt pike being the holy person and including cursing in her confession of her wrongdoings#having her be one of the characters who curses notably wouldve been better#but no. almost all the characters say fuck and it fr doesn't mean as much when the cussing is so constant#and im someone who curses frequently

@spiderdemon888 sent: send ‘👄 + character name’ and my muse will talk about that character [ Vox about Angel]
Vox takes a long sip from his coffee as he stares at the question on the screen of his phone. Setting up that forum has been his idea. It's a bit time consuming and some of the messages were frankly annoying, but it's an easy way for him to gauge what the big public's main interests and opinions are, and also what they think and are curious about when it came to the Vees.
Velvette and Valentino are technically supposed to contribute by answering the inquiries addressed to them, but in truth the Media Demon writes their replies more often than not. It's easier and quicker than having to argue with them over what they absolutely cannot say.
He's the PR guy and the official face of their trio for a reason.
"What do I think of Angel Dust?" Vox reads out loud, a hum following his words. "He's a...dedicated employee, from what I'm told. We don't really interact much, not directly. He's one of Val's."
Truth to be told, most of what he knows about the spider as a person comes from his friend's bitching and temper tantrums. For that reason, it's all information he takes with a grain of salt, because Valentino is anything but objective, even when he isn't acting like a brat.
"I know that he makes us a lot of profit and that he's very popular, so I assume that he must have a real talent for his job. Good for him...and for us."
Pornos aren't exactly the sort of movies he enjoys. He has bothered to watch some of Val's films because the other has insisted, but that's all. He can't be bothered to remember if he has seen one that stars Angel.
"I'll admit that I'm curious about his choice to join the Princess's...experiment. Maybe I'll ask him about that, sooner or later."
Does he really care? Not exactly, but he is keeping an eye on that particular project, for several reasons, so if he finds himself with some free time on his hands...why not?
#[ ic :: Vox ]#&& Angel Dust || spiderdemon888#[ relationship :: Vox & Angel ]#spiderdemon888#[[ he's a little unsure about what he's supposed to say ]]#[[ he doesn't have a concrete opinion on Angel ]]#[[ he's one of the people he keeps tabs on bc of reasons ]]#[[ but he doesn't have a strong personal interest in him ]]#[[ this might change if they interact more with each other ofc! ]]#;; queue

as a bona fide vaxleth lover i am more confused than ever about how they are portrayed on the animated series i'm not gonna lie 😭
#not that different is bad like it doesn't affect or 'ruin' the actual source material#i just legitimately do not understand some of their choices here#there's stuff i really like ofc but u know. i've written multiple long analyses about conflict in their relationship#and in previous seasons it seemed to me like they were just smoothing out those sharp edges which bummed me out ngl#(for one there was a line at the end of s1 where kiki directly contradicted her campaign self in favor of No Conflict that i was feeling#unsatisfied with. and s2 didn't contend with rq as a sticking point for keyleth really at all)#and like to be honest my distaste for that is biased by like fandom drama of years past and people shitting on them for that exact stuff#so for me it kinda felt like an updated and palatable version that appealed to the group of people that made me feel bad for liking them#which is again like a strong personal bias lol but u know it also is just. a really important story to me that i love#but this season it's like they went no no. they do actually need to fight that was a big thing. hmmmm what about#AH YES. let's reverse their povs about their relationship completely.#have not finished ep3 yet but 10 min in i'm just like HUH?#again this doesn't rly matter and the show remains an enjoyable adaptation it's just truly bizzare to me 😭 how did this choice get made#it speaks#lovm spoilers#sorry I'm not done yet actually because the specific conflict about happiness in the present being or not being worth sorrow later#is the VERY CORE OF BOTH OF THOSE CHARACTERS and to switch which one feels which is way more than weird for the romance it's weird for like#what each of their whole individual deal is. that's why i'm so ??????????????#gah. i truly don't want to complain too badly#(and tbh the eps simply don't have enough runtime for vax to be as completely-falling-apart as he actually was and the role of#depression and trauma and self-loathing in that vs like. a more easily telegraphed supernatural boogeyman#-which if they slowed the pace down more might fit in but the scale of the story is so grand that they can't so like i begrudingly get it.#but still absolutely wild for the solution to be: do away with their actual arguments about divinity or keyleth's insecurity about#outliving all of vox machina. oh btw we are giving the vision she had of that to vax as a gift from rq or whatever#so he can be inscure about it instead. because he's fate touched or smthn. and that's too abstract for us to explore here so let's just#give him ominous visions.)#the more i have typed the saltier i have gotten i'm sorry it's just WILD TO MEEEE

Guess who keeps getting suckerpunched by another Hazbin Headcanon. Repeatedly. This one's starting to become a problem considering whenever I watch related content there is a 78% chance of it popping out of the woodworks.
Alastor absolutely, 100% believes the absolute worst about J. Bruce Ismay. To the point that even the slander from 1912 to Al sounds like someone trying to make Mr. Ismay look better. You'd have a better chance making Alastor say something nice about Vox than about Mr. Ismay.
Alastor is also 100% convinced that Mr. Ismay got hunted down by the exorcists with prejudice the moment he died even if he died outside extermination day because Al can find absolutely no sign that Mr. Ismay has ever been in hell. Alastor is wrong about that.
#hazbin hotel#hazbin headcanon#hazbin alastor#titanic#J Bruce Ismay#conversely alastor doesn't believe anything bad about Lightoller#al is convinced the guy landed in hell by accident#instead of the war crimes#vox btw thinks cameron got mr ismay 100% right#which is still a Very Bad Interpretation#considering cameron really fucked up with the historic characters including mr ismay#but it's better than al being convinced that mr Ismay was the one with the warcrimes#i have a LOT of feelings about cameron's titanic movie that I may post a rant about sometime in the future#also related content does not mean titanic content annoyingly enough#related content means ocean liners#but maybe with this the percentage goes down a bit
