Nah, I'm with that other anon, this is the final straw for me, too. I look at actions, not words. You don't think Deuxmoi is on the phone with Backgrid already? A knows what she's inviting into their lives. Didn't they get papped in Italy once already? Maybe that's what she's hoping for.
The thing is, he clearly cares that people don't think ill of him. He wouldn't have retreated from SM the way that he did otherwise. He wouldn't have posted that "we won't let her ruin our night" story. He wouldn't have made the post about the scammers. I struggle to believe he can't reinforce a boundary about a behavior that keeps causing him distress and making him have to put out fires. He's got bigger fish to fry, he's juggling two projects. He may not be an ambitious person but I don't think he's actively self-destructive when it comes to his career. Are these little posts of hers worth all the shit he's getting for them? Complicit by inaction is a perfect way to put it, except now this has me wondering if he's actually complicit, as in, an active participant. I'd be very disappointed in him if he was.
I understand why this might be the final straw for you and others. I’m not here to convince anyone to support or be a fan of someone - everybody is entitled to their own opinions, and I’m not trying to change that.
It’s also not my intention to sway people toward liking a celebrity I don’t know personally, hahaha! I’m just offering a perspective based on the limited information we all have. At the end of the day, we don’t know these people, and we don’t actually know their motivation. But I understand if people need to step away and reevaluate.
I think it’s natural to question what’s really going on, especially when things don’t seem to align with someone’s previous actions or how they’ve presented themselves publicly. We’re all seeing just bits and pieces of what’s happening behind the scenes, and it’s easy to misinterpret things without the full picture.
That being said, just because Luke hasn’t called out certain behaviours or taken action, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s complicit or okay with it. Sometimes, it’s more complicated than just setting boundaries or reacting the way we expect. People handle these things differently, especially when their personal lives are under constant scrutiny. Maybe he’s trying to balance his personal life and career, and things aren’t as clear-cut as they might seem? I don't know.
I understand why it’s disappointing if his actions feel inconsistent. I just think (for me anyway) it’s hard to judge someone’s entire situation based on the small bits of information we do have. Because at the end of the day I literally know nothing.
I also have gone into more depth about this in another ask - where the person brought up some interesting points - not sure if you have read it, but I will link it.

January 8th
Hi, I’m back (almost started with hi guys, then remembered I have no followers lmao). It's been a week since I posted last, and I think I'm going to start posting every Sunday at 9:30 PM, essentially right before I go to bed. To be honest I don't know how long I’m going to be able to keep that schedule up, I might be taking on too much, but hey, we shall see, things change all the time.
In the week thats passed, not too much has happened. School started back up on the second, unfortunately, and I’m already drained. Ever since my visit to the hospital, everything is so much more draining than before. I hope eventually I’m able to pick myself back up from this burnout, but apparently, the time it takes to recover from burnout is about 3-5 years. I don't have 3-5 years to heal from all this lol.
We had a project due the day after we came back to my AP Lit class, our personal portfolio. I had a lot of fun writing it over the semester, but I also hated it. It took me through a lot of emotions and lore related to my past. I talked about my mom, my most recent failed relationship, and my failed friendships, all of which made me sad. I also talked about my grandma though, and my wonderful stepmom, so I think overall it kinda works out in a way. I think the worst part was putting the pictures into the binder. Pictures of my biological mom (you'll hear about her eventually) as well as pictures of my grandma. I may have been a little petty and attacked my ex in the portfolio, which is funny considering hes in that class and everyone can read them. I wonder if he will approach me about it, I doubt it, he's kind of a coward.
On a much more positive note, things have become slightly more serious with this guy I’m talking to. Some might say it is FAR too soon to be talking to another guy fresh out of a relationship, but it’s been over a month now since the last one, and I’m too much of an all-or-nothing person to be hurt by one guy for too long. Or girl. I just struggle with attachment stuff. ANYWAYS. He’s way different than any guy I've ever talked to, and tbh, its refreshing. He's kind and gentle, but also ambitious and driven. It's something I've always wanted in a partner. I really hope it goes somewhere because he is genuinely so amazing lol.
This week in the mental health section we have…journaling. Now I know a lot of people just say journal to get your feelings out there but people don't actually talk about the psychology behind journaling, the benefits of it, and WHY it helps. I know this is a pretty basic thing to talk about but its my first post with this little section added so bear with me, it's fine.
There are a lot of different ways to journal and different kinds of journaling, and it really doesn't matter which one you do, it varies on your needs and what you’re trying to prioritize. I personally bullet journal and have another separate journal for my thoughts and feelings. So a lot of people wonder how journaling can actually be beneficial and I did a lil bit of research and fouuuuund… depending on the kind of journaling you do, it can be either just a release of emotions, it can help track symptoms of mental illness (or physical illness if you suffer from medical conditions, you can track if it’s getting worse or not, especially helpful in cases of people with chronic illness, but again, it varies person to person). Journaling can even help to identify negative self-talk that you may do unknowingly, and you can put in the work to change those negative thoughts into something positive. (All of this information is from a study posted by the University of Rochester Medical Center).
So to focus on the benefits of regular (“regular”) journaling, I’m mostly just going to talk about how it can be done and what to recognize in your journal entries (ITS ALWAYS HELPFUL TO GO BACK AND REREAD THEM EVEN IF IT HURTS, you can see how far you've come, and see what’s changed and whats benefited you throughout your writing journey). Journaling can be instrumental in the progression towards certain goals, as it is an internal reflection, slightly different from a diary, which can be defined as writing about the events of a day, and is mostly a daily thing. Journaling doesn't have to be a daily thing, it can be something you do more often when you’re having a rough time, with long entries full of crossed-out words and scribbles, versus the times you’re doing okay and when the entries are shorter and the words are neater. Either way, journaling is very good for self-reflection, helping you identify triggers and other things that may cause you any amount of emotional stress.
I think my favorite kind of journaling is bullet journaling, which I’ve only been doing for a short while but it’s very different from my thoughts and feelings journal. My bullet journal is something I use to keep track of assignments and also my habits, my reading, and things I've watched, I might start using it to track screen time. I also use it to track the story I’ve begun and this blog as well. It’s becoming very helpful when it comes to the planning of my future and the progression of my goals. I personally never found my thoughts and feelings journal to be very helpful when it came to goal progression, but it’s different for everyone.
One of the best parts of a bullet journal is the creative freedom that comes with it, of course, that’s not for everyone, and some people may simply choose a more minimalistic setup, or they may just not bullet journal at all, but that’s seriously one of the most therapeutic parts. Its a very chill process, I personally stole my setup from a YouTuber who I like, so it’s not my own creativity, but thats something Id like to do someday.
Anyway, that wraps up this week's post, we shall see how this does, I might mess around with the length of posts, as this one got pretty long. See you next Sunday :)

OG Heavens: Love letters
For these Heavens posts, I had reached out to a few people who just never ended up responding. With projects like these, please at least hear them out, you don't have to do it because I know its a huge project but at least tell them you won't be doing it instead of ghosting them. But apart from that little road block, this project was really fun!!
Please enjoy under the cut!!!!
EIICHI OTORI
From @milkmateartist:
I have always leaned towards megane characters and Eiichi is no exception. However, it's not often you see idols wearing glasses, and that is something I appreciate about Eiichi's design. His color palette also intrigues me since I love deep shades of blue. His royal blue jacket is very attractive, and the way he pops the collar also makes me go "kya!".  His voice is also very sexy as well and is pleasing to the ear uwu. I love how egoistic he is too. Being incredibly ambitious he has been able to reach amazing heights that surpass other idols. The one thing that seems to make him unique though is that he really gets zealous and overly passionate when it comes to the power of music, so much that it makes him physically tremble. You could get high off that shit literally. His entire being is centered around being an idol, and all the components of him go above and beyond the requirements. It's not just a job for him or something that simply makes an earning or brings satisfaction. It's pretty much everything to him. For that reason he has made it to the top. There is also the component where he's lonely and isolated emotionally that interests me. Despite being a beloved idol, he clearly didn't get the love he needed growing up. Even though he had Eiji I feel as though his nature was more to protect Eiji and shield him from whatever terrors would arise. I admire his ability to come through all of that and pay attention to the things he really cared about. Eiichi can be himself, his strange, sexy self, but also he acknowledges the lonesome darkness within too. I think that component makes him incredibly powerful.
Extra Details:
While appearing to be a bad guy in the anime (at least), Eiichi seemed to be that typical bad boy idol that would steal away Haruka from the main group. The time when he approached Haruka and took her by the chin is a perfect example. How dare this new guy just think he can have his way with our protagonist!  To be honest I liked that aspect about him a bit. While I can't remember my first impression of Eiichi aside from not knowing how to feel about that, he slowly grew on me. He had the appearance of just another selfish idol, demonstrated by swiping the mic away from the announcer at one of his concerts and immediately declaring their foreseen victory. So far that looked rather bland to me, and I was still cheering for STARISH. They really made him out to look like some bad guy who would not play fair and do whatever he could to take the throne (and the girl).  It's not surprising his glasses shine adds to his 'freaky antagonist' vibe that the show seemed to try to give off, but however for me I love the glasses beam, thus having the opposite effect.
And then there is the Next Door episode. Now here's where we got to see more of Eiichi aside from when the HEAVENS Dragon demolished the entire stadium. Aside from kya-ing over the EiichiOtoya content (especially where he goes behind otoya and covers his eyes), I got to see more of him here. It surprised me that someone so cocky and confident was actually the same depressed, lonely person that Otoya was. But it was also evident to me as well that he did care about the effect it had on Otoya as well after he sort-of-well mind broke him. I like how he is ambitious but also still caring, as compared to an antagonist that would stop at nothing to achieve their goal regardless of how much pain they cause.
I also enjoy Eiichi because I feel like I can roleplay him well. Usually for me, roleplay has to achieve some kind of goal since I tend to be business oriented. I think to some degree I'm able to practice being a eboy idol through Eiichi, as I do enjoy charming the fans. It also helps that I can naturally play characters with an inflated ego who enjoy charming people.
From @/egoisticCEO on twt:
July 2019. When Eiichi was first introduced to me via his voice, I hated him from the very beginning. His singing, his appearance, his personality – everything about him made me despise him. It’s funny looking back and seeing how quickly my attitude changed towards him, realising I’d been biased against him because of a friend. Finding more about him, hate turned to interest. It seemed like his life hadn’t been the best. Maybe that was why he acted in such a way? Interest turned to liking him more. Maybe I’d misunderstood him. I’d made the mistake of taking him at surface level.
December 2019. Like was slowly turning to love. More and more, I found myself looking at him instead of my current favourites. I found myself wanting him to actually be a part of Egoistic. Once I started devouring HEAVENS Radio and unveiling his true character, it was shocking how quickly I fell. He truly acted like a father to everyone in his band. Giving them what he never received. Everything was for them to thrive.
2020. With how much I was at home, it only made sense I grew more obsessed. I found Life with Thanks’ translation. “We’re irreplaceable to him,” he tells us, and that made me certain that his heart wasn’t as evil as some people liked to believe. He’s a caretaker, someone who wants everyone to feel like they matter. Even at his own expense. Instead of selfish, he’s selfless.
I related to him more than I have to any character – it was comforting. Seeing someone have no choice but to put on a brave face, even when his confidence was at an all time low. 2020 got a lot harder for me, but when I recovered, Eiichi was like a home to go back to. Time and time again, I’d have to break away, but I’d always be invited back in by that stupid smirk and overexaggerated ego and the warmest heart you could ever find. Every scene I watched with him would make me smile. I’d tease him to myself. I still do.
2021. That brings us to now. I can’t see my love for this one of a kind man dying any time soon. I don’t want it to, either. Just looking at him makes me happy! He’s the type of character with so many facets to his personality that you can keep digging and never reach the end. So, in conclusion, I hope I never stop finding new things out about this wonderful idiot. More than anything, he deserves all the love he gives to others, and I’d love to provide it tenfold.
KIRA SUMERAGI
From Anon:
Many have their reasons to love their favorite characters. As for me, why Kira Sumeragi is my favorite character is because there are several things about him that I can relate myself to and there are a few qualities he has that I like about him. If many do not know about Kira that much, they’d look at who he is. He may look intimidating at first and may not talk much, when in actuality, Kira is a considerate, dependable, and mindful guy. Mainly, he is the type of guy that lets his actions do the explaining. He is a hard worker, as an idol, he looks after his bandmates, HEAVENS, like family. It’s like what Eiichi said in HEAVENS Radio about Kira, “he is HEAVENS’ pride!” Although he may not say much, Kira is very observant of his surroundings and never hesitates in his decisions. The members of HEAVENS understand and acknowledge Kira, knowing that he means well.
You can even tell in his solo music! Although there are only two solo songs for Kira, if you read the lyrics carefully, Kira’s thoughts and feelings are shown. Kira always knew that if he cannot explain his feelings through words, then he’ll let his songs and his actions do it for him for you to see.  Although the anime doesn’t show much of Kira, the only way to get to know him more is through HEAVENS Radio, also drama CDs like Paradise Lost, and other media like LINE Messenger Japan. There’s still much that I’d want to know about him, but as a start, these things are what makes Kira my favorite character for HEAVENS.
From Anon:
Aside from my huge bias towards OnoD the first thing that drew my attention to Kira was his design. Dark haired anime boys with bright eyes have such a vibe and I loved how mysterious he was set up to be in season 2. But the thing that really hooked me a lot was the found family that Heavens became over the progression of the anime.
Particularly since people in the fandom have a bunch of funky headcanons about Kira being the mom friend in the group, which is incredibly wholesome. Kira’s very quiet and reserved but clearly holds a deep caring for his group members and does what he can when needed which is one of the reasons why he became so loveable for me.
NAGI MIKADO
From @/_PXRFECTIONIST on twt:
If I managed to stan Nagi, so will you.
Greetings. I present to you, once more, a story of how I came to love a character that I wished I threw hands with.
So.
Nagi Mikado.
The possible only utapri character that Shinomiya oshis despise. Thanks to what happened in the anime.
Truth be told, I too was one of them. Until I came to love Both Shinomiya and Nagi. Reason?
Research.
Ya see, it is universally agreed upon that the way Nagi was pushing and pulling at Shinomiya's trauma and DID was… Not okay. So I said "yeah okay what an obnoxious kid i dont think ill ever like him lol" especially since I never come to really warm up to people younger than me.
Boy was I wrong.
My heart really sways easily when I go deep into characters, and why they act the way they are. And also because I chose to roleplay as him, but let's not. Speak of that.
(its actually the main reason i like him in the first place who am i fooling)
Nagi is… Indeed obnoxious, and really has bad manners that are covered up by his cute looks and fame, especially since he's one of the original HEAVENS members, but once you get to really know him.. It makes sense why he's being such a brat. And that is sort of endearing. And knowing how his group is like family to him too, it becomes harder and harder to completely dislike him.
….
He really is a boss man.
He knows what he wants, and how to get it. He knows how to get people to like him without handing over the tiniest sliver of his weaknesses. He acts in his own way that shapes his personality to suit him, yet still manages to be caring and helpful, even if it's hard to see tenderness and good will through his aggression.
Reading his solo lyrics, listening to the drama CDs, even thinking of headcanons due to lack of lore, it all slowly comes together like a lovely parfait to suddenly make you realize..
'Wow…'
'I really do like that rat.

Hi! Can I get a FE3H matchup, please? I am 20, a woman and very bi. I am currently an international affairs student interested in diplomacy and human rights protections, who also happens to be trilingual. I love reading fiction, historical accounts and mythology. My hobbies include writing, crocheting, cooking and playing videogames. I am an introvert but I am also extremely friendly, if a bit oblivious at times. I like helping others and make people smile. I am also very physically affectionate
Tumblr media
Hello! Happy Holidays, hope you enjoyed them well! Thank you for patiently waiting for your matchup and sorry for taking so long! I’ve been playing Pokemon Shield and it literally took over my life lmao. I had a lot of trouble pairing you with someone tbh, as I had two characters in mind, but after much thought, your match is…
Tumblr media
Sylvain Jose Gautier!!!
You two are very similar but very different all the same. As we know, Sylvain greatly dislikes crests and how they’ve come to negatively affect people, as people born without them are greatly disadvantaged in comparison to those who do have one. Most people only seek to reap the benefits from it, as demonstrated by those looking to marry into families with crests. For this reason, Sylvain would certainly appreciate a partner who has an interest in human rights, someone who recognizes these types of injustices and looks to do something about them. He is also, much like your INTJ personality, quite analytical and inquisitive. Intellectually, I’d say you two are quite compatible, as you are both quite contemplative and critical, shown by his problems with crests as well as his thoughts on the tragedy of Duscur. Sylvain is very gregarious and outgoing, and acts as a sort of big brother figure to his friends, therefore he’d be of great help at times when it comes to your introversion. At first, he might be a bit suspicious of your overly friendly nature, as most women who are like that with him have a hidden agenda (much like his own friendliness and flirtiness with women can be a result of his ulterior motives), but he quickly realizes it’s just how you are. This along with the fact that you like helping others and making others smile leads him to greatly value you for your genuine kindness that many others don’t have. Speaking of which, I think your unadulterated drive to help others and make them happy would ultimately coerce Sylvain to really open up to you and be honest. For how outgoing Sylvain might seem to be, he is a very closeted and distrustful person who only shows his true feelings around those he trusts. So despite you being oblivious at times (which I actually think would only highlight the sincerity in your other actions), Sylvain would come to trust as he knows you have no ill intentions and only want to see others happy. In your own ways, you are both very private people, who although enjoy being social, are really only themselves with certain people. In reference to your obliviousness, Sylvain could definitely help you with that as he is very socially aware. Another thing worth mentioning is that Sylvain is very lax and easy-going, which I think would greatly balance your ambitiousness. He like you is also good at pretending things that he is not, so I’m sure he’d be able to perceive when you are actually stressed or not. While Sylvain could teach you how to relax once in a while and not be too harsh on yourself, you could help Sylvain commit himself to his work, training, and possibly relationships as well.
Headcannons:
When you two first met, people thought you two would never get along. You seemed so driven and focused while Sylvain…well wasn’t. Boy did you surprise just about everyone though, probably yourselves as well.
You bet that when he learned you were trilingual he totally used that to his advantage, saying stuff like “How do you say ‘you’re gorgeous’ in x language?”. If you happen to answer he’s just going to repeat it to you
You spend a lot of your time together reading with each other, trading books and discussing them.
When he’s with you he often engages in conversations related to history, politics, literature, etc. His friends swear they’ve never heard him seem so intelligent before.
He totally wants to read what you write, of course, offering to be sort of an “editor” for you. He always seems to read what you write with a small smile on his face.
He’s always asking for you to join you in your hobbies like crocheting and cooking. Sometimes you can tell he really wants to learn but sometimes he just uses it as an excuse to get closer to you. “You think you could help me roll out the dough” he says as he gets behind you and grabs your hands, “Hey how am I gonna learn without some hands-on experience?” (literally).
He frequently tries to convince you to go out sometimes with him and a group of people, but you know that when he really really wants to spend time with you he wants it to be just the two of you (I just realized that sounds kinda dirty but I don’t mean it that way lol….maybe?).
He acts cheerful all the time, but it’s one time that he’s talking with you that you realize what his real smile actually looks like. Afterwards you make it your mission to only see that smile from now on.
You two are quite into PDA, Sylvain is always with his arm across you in public or grabbing you by the waist.
When he is really feeling affectionate though, he gives you very soft and lingering touches that although not as strong as his other ones, definitely convey much more.
He is always looking out for you, making sure you are taking care of yourself and not focusing too much on work, checking you’re not stressed, and if so asking how he can help you (”Maybe a massage”), jk, but he really does try to be as helpful as he can.
He’s very blunt with you too, if he notices you are pushing yourself too hard or in general just has something to tell you he’ll just straight up tell you without sugar-coating it, which you appreciate as you can be oblivious at times.
Though it may seem harsh of him, it’s those times you realize he really cares, as he normally hides behind jokes and false smiles.
Other matches: Dedue Molinaro, Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd
Hope you enjoyed the matchup! If you feel like you weren’t portrayed correctly/I misinterpreted your information let me know and I’ll make the corrections!

Hello, you have been identified as An Awesome Writer™! Congrats, you rock! So that all of your readers can shower you with some extra love today, please tell us your favorite five (or as many as you want) stories of yours and why you like them and then send this to another five fic authors you think deserve this title! ❤
Gee, I wonder who this could be from? c; (Thank you so much I love you!)
Okay so I’m doing seven because as you all know from my zillion ships and characters I’ve written for/screamed about, I’m incapable of picking a specific favourite lmao. But it’s still less than half my fics so it’s fine. Also none of these are ranked, I enjoyed them all equally tbh. (Forgive my lack of heart emojis RIP, I’m on desktop for this one)The Troubles Rain Can Bring (Pers/ona 5) : Of course I have to bring this one up, since it’s the one I consider my first legit omo fic (Jade was my first foray, but since it’s unfinished and I picked a dead fandom specifically so I had less chances of getting mean comments, I consider it more of a practice run). This was my first time writing for a very active and current fandom, so it was really intimidating, but I was also really excited to participate in creating for a game I was so passionate about! Also that fic was just a total labour of self-indulgence and love (excuse for fluff with my otp? combining all my fav tropes? Gratuitous Akira Suffering? Including the others for fun towards the end? I was in hog heaven!) While I definitely can find parts where I could improve the writing now, I still love it for all of the effort I put into it, and I got such a lovely response that made me feel really welcome on ao3, the omo tag on tumblr, and in the p/5 fandom! It’s kind of nostalgic for me, even if it was only written like a year and a half ago, haha. All Bottled Up (Dang/anRonpa: THH) : I’m just really proud of this fic, and I had so much fun writing it! I think it’s probably one of the few fics I’ve written that was a completely smooth ride of inspiration and fun from start to finish, without any hitches in the writing process or me getting bogged down with other projects. Seriously I think I hammered the entire thing out in like a week or two lmao. I love Naegiri so much, and the idea was a treat to work with even if it’s some of the most cliché omo scenarios, it was just a nice relaxing bit of indulgence! Also I got to dig into Kirigiri’s character, which I didn’t get to do in my other fic of her (since that one was so short and oddly styled). My favourite bit was probably getting to mess with the drawbacks of her gloves/hand injuries, and of course those fluffy bits with Naegi! Getting Your Feet Wet (Pers/ona 5) : This one, hoo boy. Definitely one of my longest fics, and while at the time when I posted it I kind of hated half the stuff in it (just because I had been nitpicking it for so long lmao), now that time has gone by I can genuinely say I love it and it’s probably one I’m proudest of. Not only was it my first full dive into snut (and I’d like to think it isn’t too shabby), but I got to work with a rarepair that I’ve been intrigued by, with two of my fav npcs from the game! So fun times all around! It was great to imagine how Sae might have changed and opened up since the game’s ending, and what Tae could do to help draw her out of that strict shell while still making her feel secure and comfortable. Also I got to include pet/p.lay which is something I’d been dying to write since I started that account, so bonus points for that! And I got a way better response than I was expecting, so that was nice!A Sinking Ship (Pers/ona 5) : ((Okay I swear I still plan to update the other half of this one someday soon, I literally have the draft halfway done I just haven’t been able to get it finished to the level I want.)) Anyways, I have a soft spot for this one because 1. It’s Makoto, and you all know how much I adore her, 2. I finally got to write some legit palace battling and shenanigans, which I really enjoyed and want to include more of in future projects, 3. I literally put so much detail into this one, from the setting descriptions to the dialogue and going out of my way to include the entire team interacting with her instead of just one or two chars, and I’m giving myself a fat pat on the back for that. And then throwing in actual anxiety and plot issues instead of just making her desperate for the sake of it, which may have been ambitious (hence why it’s kind of on a cliffhanger right now while I finish the comfort half), but I really just wanted her to have one of my best fics possible because Makoto deserves the best (of the worst suffering oops sorry bby). Also did I mention The Shumako Bridal Carry scene? That was absolutely necessary to include okay? Also there’s gonna be quality Shumako bonding in the second chapter so I’m biased to love this in advance. Basically I love this one specifically because it’s my own self-indulgent bullshit, which is kind of every fic I write but this is definitely one of The Most Indulgent. I also consider this one my very best omo fic in terms of the actual omo writing/content, even if it’s long AF, because at least you’re getting desperation and wetting for pretty much the entire thing, even when other stuff’s going on around it. So yeah I guess if you don’t mind a cliffhanger ending (for now) and have a decent knowledge of p/5, this is the one I recommend reading!Conundrums Lead to Collapse (Doc/tor Who - 13th Doc/tor) : I really liked writing this one because of the whump, actually. I rarely have excuses to injure characters for Even Worse Omo Suffering/Comfort, so the fact that I could write based on a canon injury was the perfect excuse! Also I’m just weak for the 13th Doctor so I’m always down for omo of her, but it was also a fun excuse to explore her character. We hadn’t gotten to see her angry or broken down at the time it aired, so I enjoyed getting to play around with how things affect her when she does finally lose the positive attitude and confidence, and bringing a character as powerful (and semi immortal I guess) as The Doctor to the floor was just a fun exercise. Also it’s kind of hard to find whump fics focused on female characters that don’t involve a certain kind of violence (or just female whump in general actually), so I just really enjoyed using all of the fandom tropes I’ve read over the years in those fics to create something for those of us who wanted it the other way around! I would also like to say this one gave me the excuse for Found Family Coddling, everyone comforts and helps her towards the end which is perfect for my fluff-craving heart after all of the angst.Holding More than Cards (Ka/kegurui Compulsive Gambler) : Oh boy, I’ll be honest the reason I love this is purely because it’s pretty much the only fic for this pairing that I’ve found for my tastes and I had to make it myself dang it (They basically had a whole two episodes where Midari creamed herself for Yumeko and they had that scene where they held each other’s faces staring into their eyes, HOW is no one jumping on this ship??? There’s literally 5 fics total on ao3 I’m not joking). I really enjoyed getting to dig into Midari’s characterization for this one, especially since I had such a tiny bit of canon to go off of and had to set it after the anime’s s1 developments. I got to write Yumeko being a dom and dropping her cheerful attitude too, which was really satisfying. Also while this doesn’t have full on snut in it, it was the closest I’d come at the time, so that was an interesting challenge. This was a rare chance to indulge in unhealthy ships too (bc literally every ship in that show is unhealthy on some level lmao) so that was entertaining to try and navigate.Capture the Fly with Nectar Sweet (The Ch/illing Adventures of Sabrin/a) : I just posted this one recently but I’m adding it anyways, because I had an absolute blast working on it. It’s so starkly different from anything I usually write, because you all know I love close friendships and found family and all that quality fluff and caring. But instead this one was me staring at my laptop thinking of how I want to tell this character to go to hell, except that would be pointless because that’s literally where she came from. I really got to stretch my wings outside my comfort zone and dig around in the dark, manipulative side for a while, and it was so much fun to study one of my favourite villains (anti-hero? she’s such a mysterious mess idk how to classify her) and her relationship with Sabrina. I also got to attempt writing desperation from the outsider’s perspective instead of the victim’s, and while I feel like I definitely still have room to improve with that, it was a nice break from the way I usually write my omo fics. I also got to shift around my writing style for this one, using words like ‘betwixt’ (which I love but never get to use lol) and using a bunch of metaphors and similes to showcase how Madam views Sabrina. This is probably the fic that makes it obvious that Language Arts was my favourite subject in school and that I’m Extra when it comes to predator/prey comparisons lmao. (Note: Please read the tags on this one, the Dead Dove: Do Not Eat warning applies here.)
I actually don’t know who else to send this to that I haven’t already, since like half the omo tag has vanished and I’m blanking on usernames, so if any of y'all are reading this post and you write fics: consider this me asking you to do it so I can hear about your fics! :D

Awesome Female Characters!
I was tagged by @mametupa ! Rules: List ten of your favorite female characters in ten different fandoms. Well, contrary to writing about my fics (i’m not good at it) or music (i rarely listen to music, and mostly always the same stuff anyway), this is something i may be able to do… i can try that one! it’ll be “female chars i’ve really liked plus commentary” more than the exact thing though, sorry…
Random order:
Person of Interest - uh, all of them, sorry. Root? Shaw? Carter? Those we saw less of and yet made an impression, like Zoe? Or perhaps, the Machine herself - after all, Root insists the Machine is a goddESS. Cannot. Choose! Even Control was a great character. Aaaaaah *flails*
Lucifer: lol. Too many great ones! Okay, so Chloe & Linda (and these days Charlotte 2.0!) are probably my faves? Dorky, struggling, human, driven, not defined by the people (and especially the men!) around them, ambitious and caring (sometimes in strange ways, looking at you Charlotte, but 2.0 is less terrifying than 1.0… allegedly) and trying. Imperfect (Linda’s taste in men, ahem…) and sweet. Random thing: i headcanon Linda as Jewish, and i also like Ella (but a bit too perky for me, huggy people terrify me) and Maze (but her characterization has been all over the place lately), but my softest of soft spots must go to… eh. It’s a tie between Chloe & Linda really!
Highlander: been a long time since i watched it. Um… Amanda, perhaps? Because she’s  independent and strong. Although Tessa was no wallflower either. And Gina was not my kind of character, but she was badass.
Star Trek TOS: well. Uhura, of course. Great at her job, a woman who can be in command (and does a time or two take the conn and no one finds this strange or weird), is also a musician, buddies (JUST buddies, sorry reboot people, i’m into old skool Trek!) with Spock, has friends and also always looks good. Inspired countless women, black or otherwise, to just go for it (looking at Whoopi Goldberg who said, whoa, a black actress who’s NOT being a servant! and how many women who went into science, space etc? Dr King himself told her to stay on the show while she was bored with the role. SO.) Also looked great in her mirror!version (knife in thigh high boots, yep) and kicked ass when need be and did. not. Die. And she was a redshirt!!!!
Good Omens: Agnes Nutter. Nuff said. I mean. She’s been dead for centuries and yet drives the plot, gives tip from beyond the grave, is full of humour and. Aaaah.
Stargate Atlantis: Elizabeth or Teyla… strong, smart, brave, powerful, leaders; they can make and acknowledge mistakes and are generally awesome. Teyla in particular does suffer from characterization issues (canon is rife with issues often revolving about the white man bias, tbh; but that’s why so many great writers wrote so many great, challenging fics in that fandom), and yet they still shine!
Harry Potter: okay so i’m mostly a Snape/(adult)Harry shipper there and my fave char is Snape (go on, rail at me. Best character anyway ;-), but Hermione Granger is right up there. Also Minerva McGonagall. And i’m really, really curious to know more about Eileen Prince / Snape, too. i also have issues about canon, but here again - great writers and great fics that ask the right questions about it. Yay fandom.
Agents of Shield: probably Melinda May. Ming-Na Wen kicks ass like a boss, she has a taciturn badass with a mysterious and tragic past role that’s usually male coded and just no one fucks with her. Ever. And she has many other qualities tbh
All characters in the Discworld, from Sybil to Cheery / Cheri Littlebottom to all the witches to Susan Sto Helit to *flails* *jumps in Discworld shelves* *dies happily*
Boston Legal’s Shirley Schmidt, Sanctuary’s Helen Magnus get honourable mentions too! There are a few other fandoms where no female characters really jumps at me, buuuut… maybe some will come back later and ‘ill feel terrible for not remembering them in time. Sorry!
I’m tagging: uuuh. Who wants to do this? Uh. @mourning-night @irisbleufic @theleafpile @pixelbypixelfanfic @elenacalderas @boundtobeafraid @knightvision1228 @coaldustcanary …? anyone else? no obligation!

365 days of writing day 291 and 292
day 291 and 292: ups and downs
For now, it might be hard for me to do an update every night because of this situation with my laptop that I mentioned and stress or whatever else may happen but Ill try my best. Yesterday was a rough day. i woke up at 1 am because ny stomach was extremely upset and i felt nauseous. I spent a fair amount of time on the toilet and then it was pretty hard to get back to sleep. When i had to get up i promptly canceled coming to Ashiya for training and politely told her that i didn’t think i could work somewhere far away and also that i wasn't feeling well. The boss was very nice about it and said that they can just train me to be a substitute in Kyoto for now. Anyway, despite feeling like shit i went to class because of their strict attendance policy worrying me. I did get some medicine at the convenience store and that seemed to hold me until class was finished. Since i was sleep deprived and felt sick the homesickness really kicked in and i spiraled into feeling stuck and doubting my own abilities/ thinking i was being too ambitious. Poppy skyped with me and showed me my kitties as usual but this time i did actually get teary... i suppose part of the reason was because Max meowed when he saw me which he hadn’t done before on skype.
this morning i felt better. The rain seemed to calm down too so i was able to walk to school without getting too wet. my stomach was better and id had a better night’s sleep so i was in much higher spirits. class was fine as usual and i felt a little less stressed about everything. our listening and speaking teacher is my favorite and we had her class today so i was happy about that. After class i went to karaoke for 3 hours and had a blast singing songs. I swear the ability to change keys on songs is like magic.  i don’t even really know how it works, like i don’t consciously though about how i can sing in a deeper register, it’s like my voice just automatically follows the melody. it didn’t really help with one Aiuchi Rina song though since i had trouble with one note she sings even before my voice changes because i think she manages to hit the highest register with that one note lol. oh i also got a student discount today and the staff was really nice too so i left in a pretty good mood. i made myself pork and some mushrooms for dinner tonight and i studied some and now here i am. So yeah, some ups and downs for sure. im still worried that my laptop might not have long left but ill use it as long as i can and hopefully my parents can help me at least figure out how to get a new laptop from the u.s. because i don’t know enough Japanese yet to have a Japanese o.s. again, apologies for typos, still not used to this keyboard.

Beyond the Kitchen: For the Love of Reading
It’s time again to temporarily set down the pots and pans and pick up a good book. Don’t worry, I’ll be back to posting food again next week, but I really do like to break it up every now and then with something a bit more intellectually stimulating.
I fell a bit short of my 75-book reading goal in 2018. Maybe I was overly ambitious, having read 84 books in 2017 (not sure what happened there). Still, out of the 56 I did manage to read (I’m a fast reader, what can I say) I definitely encountered some good ones, and finally have enough really good ones to warrant another post.
These are the 6, er, 7 books that wowed me. That moved me. That stole productive hours from my day and kept me reading late into the night. The books that left me desperate for a sequel (sadly, none of them have one). They run the gamut from sentimental young adult to post-apocolyptic to murder mystery to romance. And actually, I don’t think I’ve ever had a more diverse group of books in one of these posts, now that I think about it. While I read all different kinds of books, the one common thread between all of them is a truly engaging story. A book might be beautifully written but if it doesn’t grab me, doesn’t suck me in, it’s not going to end up on my list.
Books keep stupidity at bay. And vain hopes. And vain men. They undress you with love, strength and knowledge. It’s love from within. – The Little Paris Bookshop
If you don’t already, follow me on Goodreads! I try to post ratings/reviews of books as I finish them, although lately I’ve only been rating the really good ones (mainly to refresh my memory when it comes time to write another of these kinds of posts, lol).
(As always, there are some affiliate links in this post, but all opinions are entirely my own).
Once upon a time we were the standard colors of a rainbow, cheery and certain of ourselves. At some point, we all began to stumble into the in-betweens, the murky colors made dark and complicated by resentment and quiet anger. At some point, my mother slid so off track she sank into hues of gray, a world drawn only in shadows. – The Astonishing Color of After
The Astonishing Color of After
I’ll admit, it initially drew me in with the beautiful cover, but the inside is just as stunning. The Astonishing Color of After is the story of a teenage girl whose her late mother returns to her in the form of a beautiful red bird, guiding her to Thailand in search of answers. It tackles the difficult, often taboo issues of mental illness and suicide, race and identity, as well as the deep personal grief in overcoming the loss of a parent. Heartbreaking, poignant, and beautifully written. I definitely recommend this one, but be sure to have a tissue (or two) handy.
The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
By far, the best book I’ve read in a long time. It felt like I was reading a narrative version of the board game Clue, if Doctor Who had written the rules. Serious props to the author for what is probably the most intricately layered timeline I’ve ever encountered… with more than a few unexpected twists. You’ll be confused. Almost the entire time. And that confusion won’t let up once the book is done either (wait, what? what just happened? hold on). The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is a book that surely warrants a second read. Also, the writing is fantastic; there were numerous paragraphs and phrases that had me reading them over again out of sheer awe at their brilliance and wit (like the quote below… I mean, what a great way to describe someone who is not so bright, lol).
Working within the confines of Jonathan Derby’s intellect is like stirring croutons into a thick soup. – The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
The Oracle Year
What would you do with the knowledge of specific events in the future? Would you keep them to yourself? Try to save the world? Sell that knowledge for personal gain? The Oracle Year explores this question, when the main character, Will, wakes up one morning from a dream with 108 predictions about the future.
I really enjoyed this one, despite it being more of a ‘dude’ book than the strongly feminine books I usually read. The plot and premise are so totally unique in a way that’s both outlandish and all too real at the same time.
The Book of M
Another post-apocalyptic novel along the lines of The Passage and Station 11, except the ‘disease’ in this case is less gruesome, but in some ways far more terrifying. I won’t give it all away, but let’s just say The Book of M has one of the most unique concepts for a plague sweeping through humanity that I’ve ever encountered, a disease devastating in more ways than one.
But even if I never say it, it’s still real, because a thing does not have to be said to be real. It just has to be remembered. – The Book of M
The Great Alone
Absolutely wonderful. The Great Alone is tragic and beautiful and vast in its tale of a young family in crisis who move to the Alaskan wilderness to find independence, adventure, and a little of the wildness within themselves. Also, this book reinforced the fact that I have no desire to live in a remote Alaskan town anytime soon, thank you very much!
You know what they say about finding a good man in Alaska—the odds are good, but the goods are odd. – The Great Alone
The Kiss Quotient
Quirky and cute and more than a little bit steamy, The Kiss Quotient is an unconventional love story will leave you feeling all the things. Like a gender-reversed Pretty Woman, with an autistic heroine who is genuine and sincere and nothing but herself 100% of the time. Sure, it’s a bit predictable, but that doesn’t make it any less enjoyable. This would be a perfect follow-up after reading the Great Alone (lol), you know, lighten things up a bit.
The Marriage of Opposites
Set primarily on the tropical island of St. Thomas, The Marriage of Opposites tells the tale about the extraordinary woman who gave birth to painter Camille Pissarro, the Father of Impressionism (and in fact the book itself was so vivid in its depiction of the island that one could even consider it an impressionist masterpiece, painted with words). Based in historical fact but illuminated with fictional fancies and a forbidden love so strong it threatened to rip apart a community, this book is a must read for lovers of art, adventure, and historical fiction.
Perhaps that was what my mother disliked most. I resembled her. I could not help but wonder if for some women, that was the worst sin of all. – The Marriage of Opposites
Other Notable Reads:
Almost 5 stars. Not life-changing, but still definitely worth a read!
The Girl Who Smiled Beads – beautifully written and devastatingly tragic, this is the true story of a girl who escaped the genocide in Rwanda.
The Girl From Everywhere – another girl, this time not quite so heavy (and very much made up). I love magical books like these that create their own world with their own rules: here, the magic involves sailing to other worlds and other times using vintage maps to navigate.
Before We Were Yours – Told from two perspectives that span generations, this is the heartbreaking tale of unimaginable horrors as children are literally stolen from their impoverished parents to be adopted out to wealthy southerners (the fact that it is based on a true story is even more horrifying).
The Neighbors – “That’s not how I expected things to end.” (That’s what I wrote when I finished this book a few months ago, and yet now I can’t seem to remember exactly how it ended and all the reviews online are frustratingly spoiler free). Regardless of my mnemonic lapse, if you like books filled with suspense, secrets and more than a few twists and turns, this one is definitely worth reading (and it appears I have to go read it again).
The Little Paris Bookshop – A light and easy read for fans of books and travel and France. Although I have to admit it was far less about books and Paris than the title would imply. Still, I very much enjoyed this one and its cast of quirky characters (including a scene-stealing cat).
The Book of Essie – The terrifying reality of reality TV, and what happens when a young reality TV star wants out of the spotlight in which she has lived her entire life. Full of secrets, scandal and deception, but also pockets of love, friendship, and sisterhood.
Boxing ourselves into tiny cubbies based on class, race, ethnicity, religion—anything, really—comes from a poverty of mind, a poverty of imagination. The world is dull and cruel when we isolate ourselves. – The Girl Who Smiled Beads
****
So, what should I read next? If you’ve read anything exceptional lately, please share in the comments! I may have 300+ books on my to-read list, but there’s always room for one more. :)
Happy reading!

So, what should I read next? If you’ve read anything exceptional lately, please share in the comments! I may have 300+ books on my to-read list, but there’s always room for one more. :)
Happy reading!

The Book of M

a - Age: 25 b - Biggest fear: it’s a toss up between a couple: 1 - never amounting to anything (i am very ambitious) 2 - never having that financially stable life i dream of 3 - never finding a partner who loves, understands, supports and accepts me (i want a big happy family, i do) 4 - never overcoming my stupid brain’s bullshit (read: never overcoming my mental illness / never being mentally stable) c - Current time: 5:38pm (finished at 6:00pm) d - Drink you last had: water e - Every day starts with: looking at the clock, sighing that it’s so late already but not wanting to leave the warmth and comfort of bed so then i roll over and go back to sleep until finally i wake up a second time and curse how really late it is now and then force myself out of bed. (what an excellent routine, amiright?) f - Favorite song: Overall it’s Everything You Want by Vertical Horizion, fave by The Used is a tie between Cry and Buried Myself Alive, and then currently (not my fave but I can’t get it out of my head) is Shape of You by Ed Sheeran.  g - Ghosts, are they real: eh h - Hometown: East Coast in boring town because really, it was cool when I was like 8 but beyond that I hear it’s shitty now. i - In love with: to be honest, Joe Gilgun and IDK how I am supposed to deal with this lol j - Jealous of: successful people, financially stable people, people in relationships, people having babies, people with dogs, everyone and their brother on my fucking FB basically. k - Killed someone: obviously not.  l - Last time you cried: this morning, like four times. No joke. saw a dog’s purpose - cried every single time that damn dog died. every. single. time. m - Middle name: Lynn n - Number of siblings: one younger sister, 3 older step-brothers. o - One wish: To be in a happy, loving relationship where my partner/husband and I are happy with each other, our lives, and our children are happy and safe, and our pets are happy and where we are all financially stable enough that my children never need want for anything, we can afford doctors and we can afford family vacations and going out to dinners and movies and we never struggle to pay bills or make ends meet. p - Person you last called/texted: @lunasawyer who, may I just say, I am very annoyed with the fact that her username is not flounder or floofarooni/floofaroono because thats, by default, what i try to type every time. q - Question you’re always asked: "When are you finishing school? You’ve been going forever and it’s about time you stopped so that I don’t have to pay child support or your health insurance and I can stop having to fake like I’m giving you money for school so that I can save that whole whopping 100.00 in child support so I can go spend it on strippers or random women I meet while I lie to my girlfriends about what I am doing.” (OK that’s not it verbatim but it’s what it translates to). r - Reasons to smile: don’t asked depressed people such things because at the moment I can think of like four things and that’s it: joe, my baby bean and my baby rock and also the fact that my homework is done. Oh, Hamilton is super great we can smile about that, too, I guess. s - Song last sang: I think... what was the last song I listened to last night... it was either Captain Kelly’s Kitchen (Dropkick Murphys) or a song by Beautiful Bodies but I can’t remember which was last lol. t - Time you woke up: 8:40am (ACCOMPLISHMENT! That is two whole hours ahead of schedule). And only because the movie started at 9:40.  u - Underwear color: tan v - Vacation destination: I’m aiming for a trip to South Carolina or something to see the solar eclipse. I also wanna try and get to California because I heard rumors about swimming with sharks just because they show up in the water in the summer. I’d love to find somewhere out west where you can see the milky way when the sun goes down. Maybe you can see it in New Mexico where my uncle’s at. Maybe I’ll crash at his place and stare at the sky. It’ll save me money that’s for sure. lol. Disneyworld, obviously. Outside of the US - I really wanna get my ass to Ireland. I always wanted to go to the Australia Zoo (well, since 2001 anyway), but it would be so expensive, so Ireland is taking the top spot on the list. Also Italy and England.  w - Worst habit(s): Trichtillomania (which is more of a disorder than a habit), I am stubborn as fuck which makes me too set in my ways to listen to people’s advice normally, uhhh... is not eating properly and sitting on my ass all day a bad habit?  x - X-rays you’ve had: teeth xrays, chest xray, foot xray, back xray. All other photos taken of my insides were CT scans or MRIs so they dont count lol. y - Your favorite food: I will always order chicken fingers with fries and honey mustard (and use a gratuitious amount of ketchup) it’s my favorite non-home cooked meal. Home cooked I would say chicken goo probably?  z - Zodiac sign: virgo Thanks to @just-a-lunatic for tagging me ;) Tag: @thenightisdarkandfullofscience @biscuitstudent @cutestormsloth @lunasawyer and anyone else who wants to do it my eyes are stinging, i can’t go on, i apologize lol.

Its 3pm est! Im sorry if i rushed too fast ahaha i was waiting to get a reading, could i get a general love reading? Like the people around me and the people ill meet in the future? Thank you so much❤️💕💘 N♐️
Cards Drawn: Two of Swords, The Empress, Two of Pentacles
Hey love! And lol!! I’m glad you could make it 😄 So I got Two of Swords for your love life now with the people around you. You could be feeling quite torn or uncertain about your love life with those around you currently. Maybe you’re feeling unsure if whether or not a certain person is right for you. Or maybe you just don’t know if you’re ready for love with the options you have currently. If you’re looking, then try to see if you also have any insecurities or any deep inner conflicts within you about love in the meantime. Try to work on any imbalances inside if there’s anything that’s been bugging you.
Now for who you’ll be involved with in the future, I got The Empress and Two of Pentacles card. I really feel like this is a Taurus or Virgos energy. If not, then they may just have a lot of earth sign qualities to them. You may get to attract a really nurturing and grounded person to you, but they may also be on the go a lot I feel. I feel like they’ll be very ambitious and focused on the material world in some way. But they’ll also love having comfort and luxury all around them (like a Taurus lol). So overall, love currently with those around may be in a very foggy or uncertain state since there may be an inner conflict or uncertainty associated with this. But in the future you’ll get to attract someone that’s really loving, committed, and independent I feel. 💎
Hope this helps! 💓
