Shoutout to this draft I made a couple hours ago when I suddenly had an epiphany for how I could fix a part of my story and I was so excited that the only way I could express it is to write whatever this is but I couldn’t post it because I didn’t have internet

also it got marked as mature for some reason

#mood honestly #OHHH OHH. WA #there is pure happiness behind those words #I don’t know if I’ll keep the idea that I came up with but it’s so much better than what I had before #ties up loose ends while also keeping it vague like I wanted mmmm #and the ending isn’t super depressing now!!! sort of!!!#it is Not final so I won’t yap about it just yet but #I think I might be able to give gourdie a somewhat happy ending….that is all I wanted…..yes…..#cause like damn at first she was just miserable by the end with no happiness in sight. which didn’t really match the rest of the story #cause it’s more so lighthearted even when there’s like. death and stuff #like. bad shit happens but it’s not an emotionally charged angsty story #if people do find it sad despite the jokey tone then all the better because that means I can have my cake and eat it too #but my point is simply that Gourdie’s ending did NOT match up with anything else #she was just left completely depressed by the end #BUT I CAN FIX IT. oh nia ): this. thinking about him all excited the night before his lil netflix date with you. he saw the shirts through the shop window earlier on his way home— and five minutes later, he was already out the door with the bags in his arms. he had his new outfit for tomorrow draped over his chair hours ago (he gets really excited for dates so he likes to prepare everything early), but he just can’t seem to stop looking at it. he keeps imagining how you’ll react— picturing the look on your face when you see the “i love my girlfriend!” in huge letters across the top. and… just maybe he could try and convince you to put a kiss mark on it too. the whole thing plays out in his head over and over until he’s finally falling asleep with a soft smile tugging at his lips, arms wrapped tightly around his pillow in hopes that tomorrow can come just one second faster.

oh yeah so I’ve basically finished base colours for Takeshi so he’s coming along 👌🏻

here’s the raw provided by @boxanimal (they’re scanning and uploading all the manga in incredible quality to Mega!! bc of space my sister downloaded the file for this, and as someone who isn’t into reading manga she also marvelled the quality hah) and a good ol’ cleaned up and redrawn version by me for my colour wheel (yes yes, spoiler for the colour wheel, sorry) please ignore. the Watermark there lmfao

ANYWAYS MAIN POINTS ARE 1) Takeshi is coming along swimmingly for the colour wheel which is back in action I WILL FINISH IT BEFORE THE YEAR ENDS I PROMISE and 2) is that boxanimal is doing an incredible job with the manga!! please go support them and their hard work!!

#don’t stare at the redrawn parts too long #also with such a good quality scan redrawing is much easier #bc often the brushes I use are much sharper and less blurry #than what the dog shit quality of scanlations are #so I have to sit there for a while cleaning up lines so the brush matches the scan #and even then the noise on it bc of the low quality…#but these scans!!!! wow is redrawing shit soooo much easier bc it matches up much much more!!!#I wish I’d been able to start my 1e1ch series with these scans #bc going through the Kokuyo arc with scanlations…. oh it was a nightmare #using these scans would’ve saved me fucking HOURS and my edits would’ve been SO CLEAN…#but I’m not redoing them all fuck that lol #so I’ll try and continue with these #which is the start of the Varia arc onwards #ooc

Reading GF fic is such a trip because one minute it'll be like "the brothers have a heart-to-heart about how they've wronged each other" and the next it's like "everyone is saved from a chupacabra attack by the princess of the manatees" and then sometimes it's like "here's some weird nightmare alien porn" before eventually the looming mystery gets solved like:

#these are just some thoughts re: friendship as a result of tonight that i need to jot down somewhere but #realising that i really do have a strict and set idea of Good Friend(ship) and what that entails to me #and id written people off bc i wasn't yk ~receiving love or friendship the way id prefer and i was angry with them for that/hurt about it #did i communicate that to them though? nooo. was i fully right in that? also no. like just bc i felt unheard didn't fully mean #that they were doing something wrong. they were trying in their own way (and sometimes they weren't really or it just wasn't nice)#but that's about how we match and how we communicate right? this is so silly that's so basic but it never fully clicked for me like this #i was blaming them for stuff and building up resentment without ever expressing that (and i still haven't yk dhshsjd)#and i think where i went ~wrong was in thinking that bc i felt that way they weren't ~giving me what i need #when it's like... but did i pick up on the ways in which they DID appreciate me and show me love etc? did i give them ANYTHING to work with?#(ok yes occasionally but also... tangent but i was watching a variety show and they were teasing woozi about how #he gives interviewers/hosts literally nothing to work with. like no extra information for them to ask about or tease him for or anything #and i was like ohhhhhh. yeah i do do that sometimes with friends and it's genuinely smth i don't really know how to do like #giving casual information (but not too much and not too little???) so they can then ask questions etc. so then if im like ughh #they never ask (the right) questions or show interest (or let me talk but that's a different thing dhsjdjd) it's like...#well do i give them the chance to? much to think about thank you woozi)#anyways where was i dhsjsnsnsjns idk but it's soooo annoying that i haven't figured this all out yet #but im slowly letting go off a bunch of resentment that has truly no business being here and im trying to self reflect and all that #and im honestly doing so shit some days but others days it's? finding stuff that matters to me on a deeper level ig?#and all of it really does pale in the face of multiple genocides and it's. but yk. if i want to keep fighting #i need to build a strong foundation and sort my shit out as well and be present so im really really trying #and beating my stupid stupid depression and brain with a stick until i get there

Genuinely how Hoshie is written in Atom: The Beginning is so infinitely frustrating. She's a character that really barely appears in the original series and had no backstory other than her role as Umatarō's wife and Tobio/Atom's mother, and I was so excited to learn she was in ATB. Or was until I actually read it. In ATB, she's very largely only there to appear a few times as his love interest and has really no reasoning FOR feeling that way nor any character traits outside of that. I'm still before the time skip chapter wise (and have some hope she will get more development after that time skip), but to ME to take a character that is that underdeveloped and you have an opportunity to really add a lot in there and don't? It sucks. It focuses so much more on the other characters that really do not have as much importance in the long run of the series (mostly original characters) and a lot of how the women are handled in ATB can be really rough a lot of the time (Ran as the exception, she's great, but it feels a lot of them are just there to be sexy set pieces. The way that they hyper sexualized Pink's traditional Vietnamese outfit is one of the worse examples of this (as you could write off the "sexy robot girls from Lab 1" thing as criticism of it, but in that case there really isn't much excuse to bring in) and while I'm glad it's not as prominent w Hoshie (because they quite literally draw her as a child and then have her show up later having gone through puberty, so thankfully they didn't get bad with it), it is still so bad. Like why do we have this character that is instrumental to the source material (as he said he based ATB as a sequel to Chronicles of Atom, where she is very important for that one volume and for Atom as a character after he is sold to the circus) and very not developed and all that is done w her is on par with how Naruto tried to develop romantic relationships (girl is in one sided love with the male protagonist and barely appears). You could have done so much, and so much that could have really helped develop the relationship in the future and helped flesh her out as her own characters with her own interests. She had a personality in the original and here, it is just being blushy and fawning over the protagonist and it is genuinely kind of insufferable.

#tzkposting #technically i suppose #twist rambles #the age gap shit is really rough here too but im just. god im so mad at the writing of her esp w how she like. never appears minus maybe 3-4 #times in 100 chapters???#sorry. i woke up and got mad over hoshie again bc its genuinely been the worst part of this minus well. how the crossdressing is handled #which is also pretty rough imo #like. i say all of this out of love 4 the series bc i DO really enjoy it but good god. as a hoshie fan this is not fun to read lol #posts w quite literally 0 target audience but well. i needed to discuss it bc it is genuinely just rly bad a lot of the time #like the angle of oh its immature infatuation and shes idealized the perfect guy in her head even if it doesnt match up 2 him irl + the lack #of interest in her from him all could be used to rly kind of make the relationship set up to be more interesting and yet. lol. i rly hope #post time skip it gets better but honestly i kind of doubt it. i feel Naru.to is an apt comparison for her as a guy who has read a bit of #b.oruto. like god. i hate it here bc atb is soooo so good minus this. and this is there. and it sucks.
