What about the courtiers? Have they met them? What do they think of them?

Alastor

From the start, Al could feel that something is… off… about the court. As the magic that conceals their inhuman traits started losing its power over him, that feeling only grew stronger.

First and foremost: until a very certain point of Lucio’s route, Alastor is absolutely terrified of Valdemar. It’s a deep, instinctual fear that makes him want to run and hide when he’s anywhere near them, and that feeling only grows with each consequent meeting, culminating with him actually glimpsing at the eldritch horror.

Others don’t cause nearly as strong of a response, though Al is definitely still put off by, and wary of, them all. He’s very much alarmed by the fact that they seem to be the only “people” around who have inhuman eyes like he does, even though theirs aren’t as dynamic as Alastor’s. While he’s fairly sure he’s not a demon, it adds yet another cause of concern and questions about himself.

After the apocalypse is averted, he does free Volta from the Devil’s chains, but the other three demons are nowhere to be found…

Valerius is a very special case and we’ll touch upon that in one of the future prompts :3c 

Marty

Not as attuned to magical nature of things as Alastor, as Apprentice with the Fool’s unique abilities Marty still knows that the Courtiers aren’t quite what they seem to be on the first glance. Naturally, during Julian’s route he gets a glimpse at what the demons truly are, including a few too-close encounters with Vlademar that leaves him nightmare fuel for years to come. 

While he’s afraid of what the demons are (and are capable of), he does end up breaking Volta’s chains and possibly Vlastomil’s in a similar way as it’s done in Nadia’s route, after which Vulgora disappears from Vesuvia.

As for Valerius, Marty is simultaneously annoyed and amused by him. The magician finds Valerius’ behavior snobbishly tawdry (he’s never living down the wine spill incident), but he’s also pretty much immune to Val’s comments. Marty charms and works his way into approval of many people at the Palace, and he very much uses that to subtly get on Valerius’ nerves.

You've heard of "almost crying during the Valerius incident", now introducing "you're never living this one down, wineboy". That wine move was so childish and petty that coming from a politician, it's almost blackmail material. Instantly commenting on him being bad at holding his liqueur. Post-route faking concern about his hand coordination, or taking a dramatic step back to "get out of the splash zone". Bonus points if other nobles are in the hearing range to pique their interest.

That's what essentially happens with one of my MCs, anyway.

Oh, I can totally see this happening - especially in Nadia and Muriel's routes ^.

@nabesima this is exactly the kind of thing MC would do, either on purpose to embarrass Valerius or on accident because they're genuinely trying to avoid another mishap XD

And heaven forbid MC mention that in front of the Hierophant!

yes! so my favourite and my go-to to start with would maybe be Le Coste   https://tuttowines.com/producers/le-coste-di-gradoli/  

i love the many different expressions their wines have had from vintages and blends over the past few years. 

I think i great place to start would be the Litrozzo (litre) they release ever year in early summer. they release a bianco, rosato and rosso and they are always such fun wines. natural wine is expensive for many reasons but the litre bottle is comparatively good value and the wine coursing with energy is just the most enjoyable thing to drink in the park in june.

id recommend (depending on where you live in the uk) getting to know people who work in a local wine shop/bar when things open up again because they will be able to give you good advice in person on what they stock and potentially let you taste things when the wines are open. lots of coffee shops, small bakeries and delis are getting interested in stocking wines too.

also PLEASE be wary of loathsome natural wine influencers who are more interested in “juice” and affecting action bronson/vice bougie wineboy vibes than the wine itself
