apparently the tickle sensor and speaker are connected so it makes sense that they'd both have issues. maybe it's a problem with the contacts?

this guy was sold as non-working but it only took a little bit of poking and smacking around to get it working again

its voice is a little quiet and the tickle sensor doesn't seem to work, but not too bad for a toy that's over 20 years old

no clue! i don't really keep up with the fansubbing circles, but i've heard that some subtitling folks have dropped their fuji tv projects for the time being. no idea if saitei otoko is among them though.
