Hiiiiiii so idk if you saw how Kourtney Kardashian revealed her pregnancy to Travis Barker but it SCREAMS Rockstar!Eddie to me…
Just imagine him jumping off the stage after a show all sweaty and shit, kissing you over and over again, just over the moon so happy… I- it’s doing things to me 🥵
Tumblr media
AN | I have not seen it, but looked it up, and it’s totally rockstar!eddie! Enjoy 🥰
Warnings | Language
Pairing | Rockstar!Eddie x Fem!Reader
Word Count | 2.3k
Masterlist | Main, Eddie
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
"No way," you looked between the small stick in one hand and the box in the other. You weren't sure if you were more excited or nervous or downright terrified, "no way!"
You looked in the mirror and studied your reflection; you were wild-eyed and flushed, hair in a messy bun and still in pajamas. You'd basically woken up and run to the store as such and still hadn't made much progress. You were much too excited.
Today marked the second period in a row that you'd missed. Combined with the way you'd started to feel lately, you couldn't help but wonder. And that led you to this moment - finding out that you were pregnant.
Your first thought was to call Eddie right away to tell him the good news. You hadn't been trying to get pregnant but you hadn't been trying to prevent it either. But - Eddie was still away, so close to being home from the tour Corroded Coffin was currently on. Tomorrow night was the hometown and last show of the tour. You'd see him soon.
And that gave you a wonderful little idea.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
"Nancy," you called her as soon as you'd gotten showered and dressed, still feeling like you were in a daydream, "I've got a big favor to ask!"
"Uh oh," you could hear the amusement in her voice, "what did you get up to this time, trouble?"
"I may or may not have gotten myself knocked up," you waited with baited breath for her to catch on. Trying to keep it casual and nonchalant was already proving to be a challenge. It took her a few moments before you heard her excited gasp.
"You're pregnant?!" She was practically squealing in delight as you nodded enthusiastically, barely remembering that she couldn't see, "oh my god, that's amazing! When did you find out?"
"Like an hour ago," you still had the test on the kitchen counter next to you, "you're the first to know."
"Yay," your best friend sounded like she was tearing up as well, "I'm so happy for you. Seriously, this is wonderful. Our babies will be able to grow up together!"
"And Steve and Eddie can be the dorkiest dads ever," you sighed softly, "I haven't told Eddie but since tomorrow's the last show of their tour, I figured I'd surprise him then. I have an idea-"
"I'm in!"
"I haven't even told you what the plan is yet!"
"I don't care," you loved her tenacity, "I'm in regardless!"
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Later that evening the two of you were camped in your living room, with big, colorful markers and poster boards. Your plan was to right some sort of announcement on them to Eddie, letting him know that you were pregnant. You played around with a couple of different ideas, but eventually settled on one. You'd be front and center at the show tomorrow and would make sure he saw your sign.
"Do you think he's even going to notice?" You looked at your handiwork and let out a long sigh, "or do you think he'll ignore it? Maybe he'll think it's just a random fan."
"Seriously?" Nancy scoffed playfully as she nudged your leg with hers. You offered her a sheepish grin in return, "he always looks for you. He's…such a sucker for you."
"Hopefully," you couldn't help the way that her comment made you feel. You knew he loved you, that much was always obvious, but knowing others saw it too was an entirely different type of sensation, "especially now that I'm carrying his kid."
"He's going to freak out," you raised your eyebrows in question and she shook her head, "freak out in a good way! He's going to he terrified, but he's going to be a great dad. And you'll be a great mom. Swear."
"I hope so…if not I've got months to agonize over it," you finished coloring in the big block lettering of your word and leaned against the couch, "was it both incredibly amazing and terrifying for you when you found out?"
"Duh," she teased softly, "its normal. No one's got it all figured, but that's okay. It's going to be amazing."
"What if I'm not ready?"
"It's a little too late for that, I think," she winked at you, and your entire face flushed. You'd always been all in for Eddie - this just made you even more sure of that.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
"I'm having second thoughts," you looked over at Nancy who was standing to your right with a huge smile on her face. She understood your nerves - she'd felt the same way the first time she told Steve she was pregnant. You were clutching the poster in your hand so tightly that your knuckles were turning white, "maybe I shouldn't."
"You should and you will," she wiggled the poster in her hands and offered you what she hoped was an encouraging smile, "we're here, the posters are ready, and Eddie will be on stage any moment!"
"Okay," you felt sick to your stomach, but you were pretty sure it wasn't anything due to your pregnancy, "right."
Before you could argue with her any further, the crowd erupted into deafening cheers. The sudden shift in the excitement caused you to startle for a moment before nerves settled into your bones. You were in the front VIP area, close to the stage as you often were, which gave you a perfect view of the stage.
You almost swooned when Eddie came onto the stage along with the rest of the band. The crowd was cheering their name and you couldn't help but join in. This was exactly where he was meant to be - he owned the stage with grace and ease.
Eddie gave a little speech before the band rolled into their set. Any remaining nerves went away as you sang and bopped along to the music with Nancy. It was easy to lose yourself in the moment, but you were quickly pulled back into reality when you saw Eddie looking around the crowd. He was looking for you, just as it always was.
You heard your heartbeat in your ears as everything around you seemed to disappear. You weren't in a sea of thousands anymore - it was just the two of you. His pretty face lit up with a saccharine and beaming smile as his eyes found yours. Your own smile in return was practically ethereal as you blew him a kiss. He winked before slipping back into rockstar mode and continued playing his heart you.
You always wondered how he could even find you, considering the bright lights of the stage made it difficult to see much of the audience. He said it was because his heart always knew where to find you. He called him a dork; he called himself a hopeless romantic for you.
"Oh come on," Nancy practically squealed as she held onto your arm, "the two of you are disgustingly precious!"
"I know," you admitted softly, "I know."
As the rest of the show went on, you kept trying to find the perfect moment to hold up your poster. You decided to save it for the last song - what better way to end the show?
You shouted your little plan into Nancy's ear and, to no one's surprise, she totally supported the idea. Once they started playing the last song you threw up your posters and started calling Eddie's name loudly. The two of you were attracting attention from all around you. Part of you expected to find angry looking faces ready to tell you to keep it down but instead you found a lot of excited faces.
"Eddie!" You shouted his name at the top of your lungs, jumping up and down to capture his attention. That seemed to spark something in him and he turned towards you. It took him a few moments to lock eyes with you, but once he did you saw him look at the posters the two of you were holding up.
His expression blanked for a moment before he seemed to realize what they said. In big, bright letters your sign said, Eddie, I'm pregnant! while Nancy's said Eddie, she's pregnant!
“Hold on,” Eddie stopped playing, looking at you the entire time as he grabbed his mic, “pardon me for a moment.”
And with that, he practically ripped his guitar off and set it on its stand at the edge of the stage before jumping down into the audience and making his way over to you, pushing eagerly through the crowd. He stopped right in front of you, reading over your sign again before looking at you with a nervous expression. His heart was beating so wildly that he was surprised that it didn’t burst through his ribcage.
“Baby,” his voice was almost trembling as you looked at him with teary eyes, “are you serious? We’re having a baby?”
“Yes,” and just like that, the tears were running down your cheek as you nodded at him, “I’m pregnant.”
“No fucking way,” he eagerly, but still tenderly, took your face in his hands before leaning in to kiss you. You could feel him smiling against your lips as he kissed you; the fact that you were in the middle of a giant crowd didn’t both either of you. He pulled back and gently brushed away your tears, “we’re having a baby?”
“We’re having a baby,” you confirmed as he looked at you incredulously. To him you were, and had always been, pure magic. You were the girl of his dreams and now you were having his baby? It seemed like a dream, “surprise!”
“Best surprise ever,” he promised as he kissed you again. He looked back at the stage and then at you, “let me, ugh, let me wrap things up real quick.”
“By all means,” you pressed a kiss to his cheek before nudging him back towards the stage, “I’ll be right here.”
He nodded before almost running back to the stage, leaping onto it and grabbing his beloved guitar again. He turned back to the rest of the band and they looked at him in understanding, already well aware of where this was going.
“Ladies and gents,” he looked through the crowd that was eagerly watching him, “I think I’ve just gotten the best news ever from the best person ever. My girl - she’s pregnant!”
Your entire body warmed up as you shook your head at his antics. But you knew him and loved him, and the fact that he was immediately so excited made your heart feel happy and relieved. You could feel the crowd turn to you as they started to cheer.
“She’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me and now she’s giving me the best thing ever,” he took a moment to breath, already feeling a rush of emotion bubble up, “baby, I love you so much. And, on that note, we’re gonna end this night on a song that I wrote for her when we first started dating. So if you know the words, sing along!”
He launched into your song, one of many, and a huge part of the crowd joined him. It was such an odd thing to have so many people singing one song in unity and to know that it was al for you. Eddie might have a been a lot of things, but he was the love of your life. That much you’d always known.
Sure, the idea of being pregnant and having a baby was terrifying, but with Eddie at your side, you were sure it would all be okay.
-
After the show, you made your way backstage, not even having to bother to flash your access pass as you looked for Eddie. You felt electric, but you couldn’t wait to have a moment alone with him.
As soon as you were in his proximity, he spotted you and made his way over to you. This time he was able to wrap his arms around you and pulled into his body, hugging you tightly.
“Eddie,” you laughed softly, feeling him pepper kisses all over the side of your head, “I can’t breathe!”
“Sorry,” his cheeks pinked as he looked you over, almost as if he was trying to see any visible sign of your pregnancy, “I’m just…wow. You’re pregnant and I’m just…wow.”
“I found out yesterday,” you reached into your pocket and handed him one of the several tests you’d taken, “and I wanted to surprise you.”
“Best surprise ever,” he looked at the small stick with a look of awe etched into his features, “and that little reveal? Baby, you’re a genius. This is…fuck, I’m so in love with you.”
“Are you…happy?’ you asked softly, still craving the reassurance despite his clear indication of happiness.
“So happy,” he brushed his knuckles along your cheek, sighing softly, “this is amazing, baby. There’s no one else I’d ever want to do with this. But, it’s about you too - are you happy?”
“Yes,” you promised, taking his hand and settling onto your belly, where soon you’d be able to see evidence of your child, “happier than ever. I love you so much, Eddie.”
“I love you too, baby,” he whispered so only you could hear it. You felt him gently rub your belly, “and you too, baby. Both of you - so much.”

I keep imagining the first time Luke and Mr. D met after Luke's hickeys/scratches went viral
LMFAOOOOO ANON THIS IS SENDING ME
here is how i think that conversation played out (suggestive content ahead):
"shit, five star, your dad is calling me," luke mumbled, eyes wide as he looked down at his phone. "he never calls me."
connor snicked from his bunk in the tour bus, "well, given that the whole internet is talking about you right now after the show you gave them last night, i'm not surprised."
"ha!" travis exclaimed, sitting up on his bed. "put it on speaker. i wanna hear him yell at you."
you rolled your eyes, "he's not gonna yell at you."
luke turned to you with hopeful eyes, "you think so?"
"well, he's probably not gonna yell at you," you scrunched your face up, rethinking your words, "like 55% chance he won't yell at you."
"i don't like those odds, babe."
"answer the fucking phone, luke."
luke clicked the green button on his screen, chewing on the nail of his thumb. he rolled his eyes, pressing the speaker button as travis kept egging him on. chris and clarisse opened the privacy curtain of chris' bunk to listen in on the drama.
"hey, mr. d," luke cleared his throat, ignoring the quiet giggles from the boys when his voice cracked. "what's up?"
"is my daughter with you?"
"say no," you whispered. so you were wrong about the odds. your dad was 100% about to yell at luke and you selfishly didn't want to get your ass handed to you just yet. you were going to avoid your dad's calls for as long as possible.
"uhh... no?"
"oh jesus fucking christ," you sighed, smacking your palm against your forehead, "that was soooo convincing."
you heard your dad type on his laptop before shutting it. there was some background noise that subsided after you heard the shut of a door. it seemed like your dad went into his office to get some privacy.
"hey, kid," your dad said, no doubt addressing you now.
"hey, dad," you rubbed the back of your neck awkwardly, leaning down to speak into the mic of luke's phone. "how are you?"
"don't start with me," he said, "would it kill you both to not do whatever it is you do that results in those pictures? pictures that are all over the internet by the way!"
a snide remark was on the tip of luke's tongue, because yes, it would kill him to not do the things that resulted in the pink marks on his neck and the healing scratches on his back, but that didn't seem like the right response.
"dad, you never had an issue with them taking their shirts off during shows before. and luke has gone out on stage like that before."
luke cringed, remembering one too many instances where he'd gone out on stage with hickeys all over his neck. it felt like a lifetime ago now, as if ever since you walked into his life that past version of him was someone he didn't recognize anymore. he much preferred remembering the name of the girl who left him marked up, especially preferring that it was only you who did that to him.
"that was before he started dating my daughter!" he replied, "i don't want to know anything about your relationship, but i'm in an unfortunate situation where i happen to manage the career of your boyfriend's band so i have to deal with it sometimes. so for the love of god, please please, stop."
"i'm so sorry mr. d," luke mumbled, "i completely forgot about them and by the time i realized, it was too late."
you could practically see your dad pulling at his hair, a habit he had when he was in stressful or awkward situations. he didn't speak for a good thirty seconds and then he sighed, "just keep your goddamn shirt on."
luke gulped, "got it."
when your dad ended the call, the entire bus erupted in laughter, including you. luke's face was as red as a tomato as he groaned and buried his head in his pillow. your shoulders shook as you giggled, laying on top of him. he instantly turned his body to wrap his arms around you.
"that wasn't so bad," you cooed, running your fingers through his curls, "and that was a shit apology, baby. you were smug as hell on stage when people pointed out the scratches."
"i wasn't thinking of the consequences of my actions," he said, "i was caught up watching people connect the dots that my girlfriend is not only hot but a fucking animal in be--"
"okay, that's our cue," travis cut off, closing his curtain. connor followed his head, popping in his airpods. clarisse sent you a wink before she disappeared behind the curtain with chris.
"i'll stop leaving hickeys on you," you kissed his face, enjoying how flustered he got. "but i can't promise too much on the scratches."
"i'm gonna stop taking my shirt off at shows, i think," he mused, toying with the hem of the shirt you wore. "i don't think i can take another surprise call from your dad. i think it took years off my life."
"your fans will be highly disappointed," you teased, leaning over to his ear, "but if you're gonna keep your shirt on, does that mean hickeys on your abs is fair game?"
luke licked his lips, tugging on his own curtain to give you two some privacy, "absolutely."

It's Just a Game, But Really
Tumblr media
Summary: When your brother starts dating Taylor Swift, you figure your wild dreams of dating Harry Styles are now definitely crushed. But some meddling from Jason, Travis, and Taylor may make some dreams come true after all.
Word Count: 3K
AN: This idea randomly popped into my head months ago and I couldn't get it out until I fully wrote it. I feel like this falls into the category of "Crack treated seriously" lol
Also, I understand this is niche, but as an Eagles fan (pls don't come for me) I've watched the entire Travis/Taylor relationship unfold and just thought this would be silly. Writing Jason and Travis was pretty fun too since I've been listening to their podcast for years and it was a cool challenge to write in their voices
Finally, I took creative liberty here and while I normally try to keep details as close to reality as possible, I've changed some things. So the Packers vs Eagles game that happened in Brazil now takes place in philly, and the Chiefs game on Christmas is now against Baltimore so it would be plausible to have the dinner scene in PA. None of this actually matters, this is fiction lol
Title from "So High School" by Taylor Swift
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Growing up with two athletic brothers had been quite an experience. Hundreds of hours were spent at sporting events, often bundled up to watch them play ice hockey or attend the late season football games. In your family, it was important that everyone supported each other.
It went the other way as well. Your brothers attended every spring concert, theater performance, and dance recital you were in. They were your biggest fans, always cheering you on and bringing flowers to give you.
They also took time to learn about your interests. Instead of getting annoyed when Taylor Swift’s music would play through the house, they started listening.
Especially Travis.
He liked the music, and thought she seemed pretty cool. He didn’t admit it, but you guessed that maybe he had a bit of a celebrity crush on her.
Life continued to change as your brothers left for college, then moved to different cities when they got signed to two different NFL teams. You missed them, but it was great seeing them succeed.
Jason and Travis still made time for family, even when Jason got married and started a family of his own. You and Kylie became friends right away, and you immediately loved having another girl in the family. You couldn’t wait for it to be Travis’s turn to find someone. But preferably not through his dating show.
When Taylor Swift announced her Eras Tour, you desperately wanted to go. So you were highly disappointed when you weren’t able to get tickets.
And then Travis surprised you with tickets to her show in Kansas City. By this point you had moved in with Jason and Kylie near Philly, but Travis assured you that he’d take care of all the travel logistics to get you to the concert.
You flew in the night before, getting to spend the day with your brother before heading to the stadium. It was weird to be there for a concert, having attended numerous games there before. It was cool to see how it was transformed into something almost unrecognizable.
Being there with Travis meant getting to be seated with a great view in a cordoned off section. It also meant Chiefs fans coming close to the barrier to talk to him before the show. Watching your brother trade friendship bracelets with these people was a strange moment, one you never would have imagined happening.
Through all that, there was one bracelet he had that you noticed he wouldn’t trade. Taking a closer glance you see what’s written on it and give him a confused look.
“Travis, what in the world is this?” you ask.
“Friendship bracelet,” he answers simply, dodging your true question.
“Obviously. But why is your number on here? Who is this for?”
He laughs nervously but before you can press it further another fan comes up to say hi. You can’t help but wonder what his plan is for that bracelet, even though you have a pretty good idea who its intended recipient is.
The concert begins and you have a wonderful time, dancing and singing along, Travis just as excited beside you. As it ends, Travis speaks with one of the staff members, looking slightly disappointed but not too bothered. Once again you’re left wondering what that was all about.
It’s a couple weeks later and you’re listening to the latest episode of Travis and Jason’s podcast when they bring up Travis attending the concert. Sure enough, he confirms he was trying to get that bracelet with his number to Taylor, and you have to commend him on his creativity and optimism.
What you don’t expect is for Taylor to find out about that and get in touch with Travis. Now a year later, your brother is in a happy, committed relationship with Taylor Swift. She’s come to family dinners, you’ve been next to her during Chiefs games, and she’s made it so you could come to a number of concerts on her tour. You cannot believe that this has become your life. And you have to give your brother credit for his powers of manifestation.
One afternoon you’re hanging in the living room while Jason records the podcast in the basement. He calls out for you and you go down to see what’s going on.
He hands you a set of headphones so you can hear Travis as well, and fills you in on the topic.
“So,” Jason begins. “Fans are starting to give you credit for Travis and Taylor getting together. Do you think that’s fair to say?”
You laugh for a moment that this is why you’re called to speak on what should be a sports podcast, before answering, “I think that’s fair. I mean, he did the work but I would say my childhood Swiftie obsession planted the seed.”
Travis replies, “You don’t think I would have found out about her on my own?”
“Oh you totally would have. But I got the ball rolling ages ago. Timing is everything, what if you’d been too late?”
“Alright, I’ll give you that. We can say you had a hand in this.”
“So that means you owe me,” you say.
Jason chimes in, “Yea Trav, your turn to manifest for Y/N.”
“You want me to manifest a boyfriend for our little sister?” Travis questions.
“Oh, right, wait, don’t actually do that. I forgot, Y/N’s not allowed to date until she’s forty,” Jason says, leading you to roll your eyes at his overprotectiveness.
“Ok, but if I were to try, who would it be? Y/N, who’s your celebrity crush?” Travis asks.
There’s no way you’re answering that on camera, especially with who the answer actually is. You clench your teeth and lift your eyebrows before cheekily saying, “Oh, no, I cannot answer that on the pod. That’s uhm. That’d be messy.” You then shrug and laugh, trying to play all of this off as a bit.
While Travis tries to dig and get you to answer, it clicks for Jason and he says, “Wait, I think I know who it is. Is it, uhm-”
“Don’t you dare say anything!” you exclaim to shut him up.
“Alright, alright. I won’t spill your secrets.”
“Well at least tell it to me later,” Travis says, to which you reply, “Absolutely not. I’m afraid you may actually try to meddle.”
“Who, me? No way,” he replies only to be met with an unimpressed look from you.
The boys drop the subject and you head back upstairs as they finally talk about football again.
You assume that they’ve moved on, and you’re happy when they don’t bring up your celebrity crush again.
You’re even happier when Jason tells you he’s taking you to the season opener Eagles vs Packers game in Philly. You’re super excited to be able to experience an Eagles game alongside your brother. You’re also glad you can be there for him in case it’s hard for him to watch them play without him for the first time since his retirement.
What you’re unaware of is the plan that Jason and Travis had made behind your back.
“So now you’re on board with trying to set up our little sister?” Jason had questioned during a phone call a couple weeks prior.
“Yes. And I have a way of making it happen,” Travis had answered.
“And you want me to help Y/N meet and potentially date a popstar who happens to be your girlfriend's ex-boyfriend?”
“Yes.”
“And he’s a Packers fan?”
“Yea, that is the unfortunate part. And you’re not really helping them date. That’s all on them. But you could at least help her meet him at the game.”
“This is ridiculous,” Jason says. “But I’ll do it.”
And that’s how you find yourself walking through the tunnels of the Linc with Jason before the start of the game and bumping into Harry Styles.
“Hello, I’m Harry,” he says cheerfully, holding a hand out for you to shake.
Mustering up all of your chill, you smile in return while reaching out to clasp his hand and say, “I’m Y/N. It’s so nice to meet you, I’m a big fan.”
“Well, thank you for your support,” he says.
“You kids want a picture?” There are few times you want to kill your brother, but him butting in while you’re talking to Harry Styles is definitely one of them.
“That’s alright,” you say, trying not to impose on Harry too much. So you’re surprised when Harry says, “Of course, let’s get a photo!”
You stand next to him, and his arm wraps around your shoulder and you hope your expression doesn’t show how crazy fast your heart is beating while Jason takes the picture.
“It was so nice meeting you both, I’ll see you around!” Harry says as he walks away.
Before Jason can begin to tease you, you say, “Don’t even say a word.”
He listens to you and instead just laughs as you keep walking.
After some quick hellos to the stadium staff, you’re led up to a box.
“I thought we just had seats today?” You question.
“We did. But when I was talking to Mark he said we got upgraded.”
When you step into the box you’re once again surprised by the presence of Harry Styles.
“Okay, we are definitely in the wrong place,” you murmur to your brother.
“Oh good, you guys found us!” Harry says. You look to see who he’s talking to and get shocked to see it’s you and Jason. “There were some open spots so I asked if you two could join us,” he explains.
“Wow, thank you!” You manage to squeak out.
Suddenly you’re realizing what is about to happen. A four minute encounter in the hallway? Easy. An entire three hour football game? There’s no way you make it through without embarrassing yourself.
And yet, halftime comes and you’ve so far managed not to make a fool of yourself. In fact, you’re even impressed by your witty banter as the Eagles and Packers go back and forth taking the lead.
“So, I read about these botanical gardens nearby,” Harry says.
“Longwood?” You ask.
“Yea, have you ever been?”
“A couple times. I went with Jason, Kylie, and the kids earlier this summer. They’re really nice. If you’re thinking about going, I highly recommend.”
“I actually got a couple tickets for the fountain show tomorrow night. I was wondering if you’d like to go with me.”
Quickly processing that Harry is asking you to hang out with him, possibly go on a date with him, you reply, “I’d love to!”
“Fantastic! I can pick you up in the afternoon?”
“Sounds good to me, thank you.”
You exchange phone numbers and give Harry your address, still in disbelief that all of this is actually happening.
The game resumes, and as the Eagles make their comeback you can’t help but cheer and get wrapped up in the game. And even as Harry’s team starts losing, he still stays happy and continues to joke around with you.
When the game ends and the Eagles fans celebrate, you say to Harry, “I hope this doesn’t affect us hanging out tomorrow.”
“Not a chance, in fact I think that will cheer me up,” he says with a smile.
“Hey Y/N, I’ve gotta go talk to a couple people. You hanging here or coming with me?” Of course, there’s your brother interrupting again. And while you’d rather stay with Harry, you don't really want to be separated from Jason in the post-game chaos. So you say goodbye to Harry with the promise to see him the next day.
On your way back home you put up with the teasing from your brother.
You beg him to be on his best behavior when Harry picks you up the next day.
You know he won’t.
So it’s no surprise that he gives Harry “the talk”, telling him that if he hurts you at all then he’ll have to face two NFL players.
You’re hanging in the living room with Kylie and the kids while this happens, and when the two boys come back Kylie asks,”He wasn’t too scary, was he?”
“No,” Harry replies. “Just scary enough I’d say. Shall we get going?” He addresses this last question to you and you agree, more than happy to get out of the house before Jason takes his big brother role too seriously.
When Harry drives away he lets out a deep breath and you say, “You good?”
“Yea, just- Your brother is scary.”
You start to laugh at the fact that Jason managed to actually shake up Harry Styles. But you decide to help him out by saying, “He seems scary, but it’s mostly all talk. Unless you do something to hurt me. Then you should be scared.”
“Oh I feel so much better,” he says, laughing along now.
The two of you have a wonderful time together at the gardens, especially since Harry manages to somehow fly under the radar. The fountain show is fascinating, and you stand together, Harry’s arm around your waist sending butterflies through your belly.
It’s late when you get home, and he walks you to the door like a gentleman.
When he asks if he can kiss you, of course you say yes. He leans in for a soft kiss before saying goodnight, not leaving until you’ve made it safely inside.
Jason is waiting up for you, and as you tell him about your night you watch his gruff exterior fade away. He looks truly pleased by all you have to report and you’re glad that he seems to approve of Harry.
For the next couple of months, it all goes well. Your relationship with Harry flourishes. You get to see him more than expected since he starts working out of a studio in NYC, only two hours away from where you are.
There is one mild bump in the road, occurring on a Friday evening when Jason and Kylie are supposed to be out at a party with the girls.
You’d been planning on a quiet night home alone. But then Harry had surprised you by showing up at your front door, a bouquet of flowers in hand.
One thing led to another, and before you know it you’re both on the couch. You’re straddling his lap, his hands sliding under your shirt as the two of you make out.
As much as Harry had surprised you, Jason surprises you even more by suddenly coming home and walking right into the living room.
Harry notices him first, and in an effort to save this interaction he pushes you off of him, luckily managing to shift you to the open spot next to him on the couch.
There’s a moment of oppressively awkward silence as Jason stares at the two of you, speechless. Without saying a word he walks to the mud room and grabs the diaper bag that had clearly been left behind earlier.
As he passes through the room to leave he says, “You are adults. Just- don’t be stupid. There are enough kids in this house already.”
Without waiting for a reply he leaves the house. After another moment you and Harry break into nervous laughter.
The mood is pretty much ruined but you still have a nice night watching a movie together. Harry stays with you but has to leave at lunchtime the next day.
That afternoon Jason knocks on your bedroom door, asking if he can talk for a minute.
“Sure, what’s up?” You say, not expecting the conversation that follows.
“I just wanted to ask how things are going between you and Harry,” he says.
“Oh! Good! Yea, things are going well. I really like him,” you answer.
“And you’re being safe?”
“Oh my god, Jason! We are not having this conversation,” you say as your cheeks warm at the implication.
“Well you’re living in my house, I just, you know. I feel responsible for your well being.”
“I’m safe. Very safe. You don’t have to worry.” You hope your words will convince him to drop the topic.
“And you trust him? Cause I mean, he’s a big time Popstar. Bet he’s broken a fair number of hearts before.”
You find yourself needing to defend Harry and ask, “Have you had this conversation with Travis about Taylor?”
“Fair point,” he concedes. “I just don’t want you getting hurt. You’re sure about him?”
“I am.”
“Okay then. That’s what matters. I’m only looking out for you.”
“I know. But Harry and I are happy. I promise.”
With that smoothed over, the next few weeks continue drama free.
And then comes Christmas.
Due to scheduling, Harry had yet to meet Travis. You’ve talked to your brother about him, and you know Travis has talked about all of this with Taylor. So while you’ve been told that it’s no big deal that your boyfriend and your brother’s girlfriend are exes, you’re still a bit nervous for Christmas dinner.
It’s a late meal, since you have to wait for Travis to get there after the Chiefs vs Ravens game, and you spend the afternoon entertaining your nieces and helping prepare the food.
Finally Travis and Taylor arrive, and for a moment you can’t help but feel self conscious. The room is full of NFL players and international pop stars. You excuse yourself to the kitchen for a moment to collect yourself. When you walk back to the living room, Harry greets you with the biggest smile, and those feelings of self doubt melt away. Because those big accomplishments and accolades aren’t what matter to him. What he cares about is how kind you are, how fun and loving you are. He wraps an arm around your shoulders, pressing a kiss to your head and you blush knowing your whole family is watching.
But looking up at them you see nothing but support. Your mom is practically glowing seeing all her children with their significant others, and quickly organizes a family picture.
It takes some time to get all three of the little girls to cooperate, and by the time the photo is taken, dinner is ready.
There is something surreal at seeing Harry and Taylor pass the potatoes or bread basket, never having imagined this is how your life would turn out.
But that night, as you all agree to break the internet by posting the family picture, you know you wouldn’t want it any other way.

AN: I wrote the first half of this as the Eagles lost to the Commanders, thus breaking a 10 game win streak soooo that was a bummer.
I wrote the ending after watching the Eagles beat the Cowboys, so at least that turned back around!
I think this may be the silliest thing I’ve ever written.

The Circuit: Travis Wheatley x Reader
Tumblr media
Tagging: Tagging: @kmc1989 @pear-1206 @keyweegirlie @nu1freakshow
Tumblr media
You are the only woman that Travis has eyes for. He makes that abundantly clear during his most recent rodeo circuit. He’s a rockstar at these things, pulling in accolades, showcasing his best horses, it’s the reason John Dutton brought him on board. Travis is a money maker and the Duttons want in.
Unfortunately all of this brings the buckle bunnies.
Travis has been around the block with a few of them. He has a reputation, you know that and so does he, he’s been working hard to rid himself of it over the past year but it sticks like mud. He’s hopes news has gotten around that he has a girl but belt bunnies, they’re bold.
“I’m with someone.” He tells Lanelle when she tries to climb into his lap.
She’s a blond firecracker from Georgia with measurements that belong in a Playboy Magazine. The two of them have tussled a few times, she always seeks him out at events like this.
“But she ain’t here Sugar.” She says in that sweet Southern tone of hers as she rearranges her top to highlight her assets. “But I am.”
“Not my thing anymore.” He tells her, his voice tinged with disinterest and she pours her beer right into his lap. He has to say he half expected it. Lanelle doesn’t like not getting what she wants, in the past he appreciated that feistiness, now…
It’s gotten old.
She spends the rest of the night, writhing on the knee of some young gun coming up on the Bronco circuit and Travis could not give less of a fuck.
He slips away early, disappearing from the bar and heading towards his trailer. He usually goes to the break of dawn at these things before climbing back on his horse and winning his next bout but the truth is he’s getting tired.
The doctor tells him he has a good few years left in him if he takes care of himself, cuts down on the booze. Too much partying is starting to catch up with him, his liver isn’t functioning the way it should do.
You’re the only one he’s told about that, you and his Mama. His doctor says if he doesn’t slow down, he’ll be looking for a new liver in the next five years. Before you that wouldn’t have deterred him. He lived hard, he played hard, he would have died on that hill. But then you’d come into his life, a vision in a white cowboy hat and worn out plaid and he  realised he wanted to stick around as long as possible.
He’s never through of himself as an alcoholic, he’s always been a good time guy but the damage adds up and now he’s careful about what he drinks, what he eats because he know he doesn’t have a hope on the transplant list. Even if he did have the surgery it would put him out of action for over six months and he can’t imagine going that long without riding.
He's sitting on the edge of his bed when he calls you. He’s been missing you more and more lately, your smile, your laugh, the press of your soft body against his as you lie tangled up together. You’ve been together almost two years now and it’s getting harder to leave.
“I saw you on TV.” You say when you pick up the phone. “You looked good.”
“Yea.” He says pinching his brow to ward off the headache that’s starting to gnaw at his temples. “We made some real money today.”
“You sound tired.” You say softly and it still amazes him how attuned you are to him even over this distance.
“I’m missing you a little.” He admits as he lies back on the mattress, his gaze coming to rest on the ceiling. “Actually, I’m missing you a lot.”
Love Travis? Don’t miss any of his stories by joining the taglist here.

could you maybe do for the mini series where the pregnant reader is at Travis’ game and we reveal to his teammates and the whole world they are having a child?? also keep it up! i love your imagines so much! i find myself coming back and rereading!❤️
Tumblr media
picture perfect - travis kelce.
summary | the chiefs win the super bowl making it the perfect opportunity to tell the world and travis’s teammates the news
warnings | mentions of morning sickness + pregnancy
authors note | hi nonnies!!!!! hope you like this!!! thank y sm for the kind words 🥹 you motivate me to keep writing! lmk what you think and if u have any requests :)
Tumblr media
it was the day of super bowl 57. the kansas city chiefs were playing the philadelphia eagles.
you were about 4 months pregnant and still had only told your close family and very few friends just till you passed your third month. you and travis had been planning on telling the guys today after the game no matter who won.
“oh my gosh hi y/n!!!!!” brittany said to you with open arms, as you walked into to locker room with travis following suit. you went up to brittany and travis went to talk to patrick and a few of his other teammates.
you hadn’t seen brit for a while because due to your pregnancy and the sickness that came with it, you had to skip out on many games in person. although you always supported from home, you had missed experiencing them in person.
“hi, brit! aw, i missed you so much!!” you said as you hugged her back.
“oh, girl i missed you more!! how are you?” she said smiling at you as she leaned down to pick up sterling who had been trying to get her mom's attention
“im good hun! how are you guys? my god, she’s getting so big! hi ster!!” you said as you smiled at the two-year-old in her arms as she smiled back at you.
“oh, we’re good! ugh i know they grow so fast!! wait till you see bronze he’s so big already!!” she said with a frown on her face
“i can just imagine! they’re both so cute though!!” you said as sterling tried reaching for you causing you to put your arms out and take her.
“aw did you miss auntie y/n?” brittany said as she pulled out her phone to take pictures of you two.
“oh wow look at these little ladies!” travis said as he and patrick walked toward the three of you
“wow y/n you look like a natural.” patrick said as he stood on brittany’s side with his arm around her waist.
“she’s gonna be a great mom one day!” trav said as he smiled down knowingly at you and you looked up at him with a smirk on your face
“oh she definitely will be!!!” brittany said as she took sterling back from you as she was starting to get fussy
“alright guys let’s go! ladies clear out!” said coach reid
“good luck baby. we love you.” you said as you leaned up to kiss travis and give him a hug
“i love you baby.” he said as he pulled away from the hug and gently brushed his hand over your stomach.
as you walked out of the locker room you turned back to blow him another kiss and wave goodbye.
you and the rest of the girls made your way up to your designated lounge and got settled in.
“y/n you are literally glowing!! have you been doing something new?” one of the girls had said to you as you were mid-conversation with brittany
“aw thank you! no i haven’t done anything different lately..” you said with a nervous laugh
“wow now that you mention it you do have a glow to you…” britt said as she examined your features with a confused face
“hm i don’t know what it could be…” you said as you nonchalantly shrugged and took a sip of your drink
but brittany just became 100% more suspicious. honestly, you had wanted her to be one of the first people you told but travis wanted to tell the whole team together so you obliged with his wishes.
she has been pregnant twice so she thinks she would be pretty good at detecting it in somebody else. she noticed the glow, and how you had been eating tons of junk but that honestly didn’t faze her much. what threw her off was your outfit she didn’t think much about it until now. you were wearing an overly large hoodie with travis’s jersey number and said “mrs kelce” on the back. she looked down toward your stomach and noticed that the hoodie wasn’t as oversized as it should’ve been. she kept quiet about her suspicions though not wanting to be wrong.
the chiefs had beaten the eagles 38-35 and everyone was ecstatic. you and the rest of the girls were all making your way to the field to find your husbands.
as you walked through the large crowd of reporters, families, players, and interviewers your eyes were finally met with the ones you had been looking for.
with a large smile on your face, you ran to your husband.
“good job baby!!!! i’m so proud of you.” you said with a huge smile on your face as you jumped into his open arms and placed multiple kisses on his face.
“thank you, my love. you know i had to do it for my girls.” he said as he smiled down at you and you smiled back leaning up to kiss him.
“i’m so beyond proud of you travy. my super bowl champ!” you said as you smiled at him with tears in your eyes as he shared the same expression so happy with how far you both had come.
after many interviews and hugs, you and travis made your way up to the big platform where many of his teammates were already on.
“you ready?” he said as he looked down at you making sure you were certain.
“yeah definitely. i think britt is getting a little too suspicious and she’s going to tell everyone before i get too.” you said as you laughed
“oh she definitely would.” travis said as he laughed and rolled his eyes walking closer to the front of the platform.
as he was greeted by his coach and fellow teammates he grabbed hold of the trophy in his hands making sure you were right by his side.
as terry bradshaw called travis to join his side he did. he asked him many questions about the game and how well he had played.
“now i see you’ve got your wife y/n here next to you is that correct?” terry said as he smiled at you
“yes this is my beautiful wonderful wife y/n!” travis said as he kissed your forehead
“she’s got to be a big part of your motivation for this game right? i mean it must feel great to just go home to her and be a super bowl winner!” terry said as he smiled at travis
“she is the reason i do this. if it wasn’t for her i wouldn’t be here right now…actually she isn’t the only reason i do this as of lately.” travis said a shy smile on his face as your heart rate raced.
“oh really? what’s your new reason?” terry said curiously
“well y/n is currently carrying our baby girl who is definitely the newest reason to why i do this!!” travis said as he rested his hand atop your stomach and you both smiled wide.
“wow, congratulations buddy! baby kelce coming to the world soon everyone!!” terry said as he patted travis on the back and he was immediately bombarded with hugs and congratulations from his teammates.
“oh, y/n!!!!! i knew it!!!!! oh my gosh i’m so happy!!!” brittany said as she found you and pulled you into a hug
“thank you brit!! i wanted to tell you at the beginning but travis felt it was special if we told everyone today!” you said as you smiled at her
“oh that’s fine i’m just so happy!! sterling your gonna have a little friend soon!” she said to the sleepy toddler in her arms as you smiled at her.
“congrats y/n!” patrick said as he came over with travis to give you a hug
“thanks pat!” you said as you hugged hun back
many of the other guys and girls congratulated you and you felt nothing but happiness radiating in the air.
you and travis were finally home after a very long night.
“i hope you know how proud i am…” you said to him as his head rested on your chest listening to your heartbeat as his hand found your stomach and rubbed circles on it
“i know baby. i don’t know what i would genuinely do without you….” he said as he kissed your chin
“did you like how we told everyone? it went to your liking..?” you said as your fingers ran through his buzzed scalp
“are you kidding? it couldn’t have been more perfect babe.” he said as he sat up slightly to look at your face
“i’m just glad your happy.” you said smiling at him
“couldn’t be happier…” he said as he kissed your lips gently and then returned his head to its previous spot. as he slowly drifted to sleep he couldn’t help the smile on his face. he had won his second super bowl with the same girl still on his arm and now bringing a baby into this world. what more could he ask for?
he had won his second super bowl with the same girl still on his arm and now bringing a baby into this world. what more could he ask for?

Ziolet Songs: Day Four
October 4th - Sparks Fly
Get me with those green eyes, baby As the lights go down Gimme something that'll haunt me when you're not around 'Cause I see sparks fly, whenever you smile
My mind forgets to remind me you're a bad idea You touch me once and it's really something You find I'm even better than you imagined I would be I'm on my guard for the rest of the world But with you, I know it's no good And I could wait patiently But I really wish you would
Posting this a day late, but oh well!
Since yesterday was my birthday I decided to include a fic excerpt from one of Violet’s birthdays! It’s either her 19th or 20th birthday, I haven’t decided yet. But I hope you all enjoy it! Putting it below the cut due to length and mentions of alcohol consumption, a few crude comments, and references to a toxic relationship.
I had barely opened the menu when the sound of people singing happy birthday caught my attention. I looked into the restaurant, and saw the girl I was looking for: my Violet.
Violet’s long hair was pulled back in a braid, and she was dressed in a simple off-the-shoulder, lilac sundress with a black apron around her waist. She smiled and blushed as her family and the patrons of the restaurant sang happy birthday to her.
The waitress in front of me huffed and rolled her eyes. I sensed she did not like Violet very much, and I was more than ready to get rid of her, “I know what I want,” I announced.
She pulled out a notepad and looked at me expectantly, I fished out my wallet and produced a $20 bill, “I want the birthday girl to serve me, here’s something for your time.”
The girl’s brown eyes widened, and she stuffed the bill into her apron pocket, “of course, thank you, I’ll go get her!”
VvvvvvVvvvvvV
I was busy thanking everyone for the impromptu birthday song when Nicole ran up to me out of breath, “I’ve got a customer for you, he’s a very good tipper, he just gave me 20 dollars to seat him, and he requested you!”
Nicole usually did not speak to me because she claimed I’d stolen Travis from her, which was far from the truth. I figured she was setting me up for embarrassment, but part of me was hopeful that there really was a customer who wanted me to be their waitress.
I smiled and said, “okay, here’s to hoping he tips me well too!”
“Yeah, you can treat yourself to a nice birthday present,” my cousin Paige winked at me, having overheard the conversation.
“I guess,” I whispered, fixing my hair and going to the table where the gentleman was seated.
When I arrived he sat holding the menu up, covering his face, “good evening sir, can I start you off with something to drink?”
He responded in a gruff, hateful sounding voice, “do you recommend anything? I usually prefer alcohol, but there’s none listed. What type of an island restaurant is this if you can’t get alcohol?”
I felt taken aback by his comment, “I apologize sir, but it is the preference of the owner of the restaurant to not serve alcohol.”
“Why’s that? Is she a prude?” He snickered and something about his voice was oddly familiar. I stood on my toes to peer over the menu covering his face, but he held it closer to him and raised it slightly.
I tried to bite my tongue, but it was no use, I would not stand for whoever this was insulting the aunt who had practically raised me, “Sir, I respectfully disagree with you, the owner is my aunt, and she prefers to host a restaurant where good food and fun can be had without the negative impacts that result from alcoholic consumption. If that is a problem with you, you can go to a neighboring restaurant or bar that does serve alcohol.”
“Ohhh, that’s a bold statement, but I should expect it coming from a sexy little minx such as yourself,” I could hear the laugh in his voice, and I’d had enough. It was one thing for Travis to make crude comments about me, but this man was a stranger, this was unexceptable.
“Sir, I am sorry, but I do not appreciate your comments. They are making me very uncomfortable. If you cannot refrain from saying such things, I will have to ask you to leave.”
“Awww, come on, you can’t ask your friend to leave,” he pouted, lowering the menu enough for me to see jet black hair.
The gears in my mind started turning, who did I know with black hair? And before I could stop myself, I asked, “who are you?”
The man lowered the menu and took off a pair of triangular sunglasses at the same time, his voice returning to normal, to a voice I'd wanted to hear for so long, “happy birthday, Vi.”
I felt a few tears fall from my eyes as I looked at his smiling face. I approached him and he stood up quickly, gathering me into a hug without me initiating it. I threw my arms around his neck as his head fell to the crook of my neck, “I’m so happy to see you, Zach,” I whispered.

In honor of my eras show (post concert depression is real.. experiencing cincy n2 is the highlight of my life.) being this week and the 4th ofc! ❤️🪩🎆
Tumblr media
The way you move is like a full on rainstorm and I'm a house of cards
You're the kind of reckless that should send me runnin'
But I kinda know that I won't get far
And you stood there in front of me, just close enough to touch
Close enough to hope you couldn't see what I was thinkin' of
“Y/N! C’mon!” you heard Tee call to you from the water. You were sat on the edge of the boat sipping on your drink of choice and choosing the next song that would play through the speakers. Tee, Ja’Marr, Sam, and of course Joe along with their respective girls were in the water while you had chosen to dry off instead - after all it was getting late and you had swam earlier. The early July sun cast a perfect orange glow over the lakehouse you and Joe called home during the offseason. The two of you had been together for years now, meeting during his Ohio State days.
You laughed. “No chance, the water is too cold. Any of you want another drink?” you asked as you finally looked over at them.
Joe swam over to the edge of the boat, pulling himself up. He grabbed a towel as he spoke, the orange glow highlighting his blue eyes. “Wouldn’t mind another one.”
Drop everything now, meet me in the pouring rain
Kiss me on the sidewalk, take away the pain
'Cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile
Get me with those green eyes, baby, as the lights go down
Give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around
'Cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile
My mind forgets to remind me you're a bad idea
You touch me once and it's really somethin'
You find I'm even better than you imagined I would be
I'm on my guard for the rest of the world
But with you, I know it's no good
And I could wait patiently, but I really wish you would
A short time later you were curled up in one of the chairs on the patio, sitting on Joe’s lap with a blanket draped over you as you roasted marshmallows. It wasn’t quite dark enough for the fireworks the boys had gotten yet. Though you had insisted it probably wouldn’t end well, it was the Fourth of July and of course Tee and Ja’Marr couldn’t be swayed.
Joe ran his thumb along your waist, rubbing small circles absentmindedly. He was engrossed in a conversation with Sam, something about Travis Kelce. Ja’Marr butted in.
“Buds all talk, 3-1 and all he can do is run his mouth,” he looked annoyed but Joe just laughed, his smile growing. You were captivated by him still somehow, the way his smile trickled into his eyes and those smile lines. You just smiled softly, finally tearing your eyes from him and laid your head back on his chest as you finished your s’more as the boys continued to talk.
“Guys did you really need this much?” you let out a laugh as the boys set up their fireworks. Theyd lined the dock with them and although you joked, you loved fireworks so you weren’t complaining.
“Too many options, we couldn’t decide,” Sam chuckled.
“He’s right.. Fuck it go big or go home right?” Tee shrugged as he set the last firework into place.
“No, I think she’s right honestly but.. Go for it,” Jess, Sam’s girlfriend, laughed beside you.
Joe took his place next to you on the patio finally, slipping his arm around your waist and pulling you close. You leaned into his body, the subtle smell of his cologne filling your senses. Tee and Ja’Marr stayed down to light the fireworks and make sure your house stayed uh.. standing and not on fire while Sam rejoined Jess.
I run my fingers through your hair and watch the lights go wild
Just keep on keepin' your eyes on me, it's just wrong enough to make it feel right
And lead me up the staircase, won't you whisper soft and slow?
I'm captivated by you, baby, like a firework show
As the fireworks went off, lighting up the sky and the water below, you glanced over at your boyfriend. His face was lit up, fully engrossed in the fireworks. You could swear that even after years together, his gorgeous smile and ocean-blue eyes seemed to draw you in. You seemed to fall more in love with him everyday and as you sat there now, with the people both of you loved most at your home, enjoying this holiday - you couldn’t imagine ever wanting anything else.
Drop everything now, meet me in the pouring rain
Kiss me on the sidewalk (Ah-ah), take away the pain
'Cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile
Get me with those green eyes, baby, as the lights go down
Give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around
'Cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile
And the sparks fly
Oh, baby, smile
And the sparks fly

Hi, first of all I would like to say that your blog gives me so much comfort. You seem like such a loving and kind person and I love to read your writing. I adore the co-parenting series and am honestly looking forward to reading more parts <3 (no pressure tho, just wanted to say that I love it)
Actually, I wanted to make a request. The song 'Deep Sea' by 'Snail Mail' has been stuck in my head for weeks, the lyrics kill me every time and I could imagine some heartbreaking angst based on the song. I saw that you don’t write reader or character deaths and it doesn’t have to be that. Maybe a breakup or something like that, it’s really up to you and up to whatever the song might inspire you to write. For the pairing I love Gojo and also Getou or Choso, but I just want you to write whoever you like! 🤪
I had the idea for that request earlier today and made a post about it (that I have since deleted) because you came to my mind and I just really wanted to try my luck and ask you if you would maybe like to write about it 💞
Hope you’re having a great day, thank you <3
it took so long to know someone like you (gojo x you)
cw: breakup, chest-aching angst, swearing, emotionally constipated satoru where he doesn't know how to be vulnerable with someone so his first instinct is to push them away :))))))))))
note: HI!!! thank you for the love, i'm so sorry that this is so late, hopefully you still like it. pro tip, listen to travis atreo's cover of "when she loved me" along with the song mentioned to make reading this extra painful. again, thank you for the love and the ask. i hope you like this!!!
likes, reblogs, and replies are always appreciated <3
Tumblr media
"don't look at me like that."
"if you don't like it, stop looking," you laugh humorlessly, feeling your heart twist like a wet rag with every shallow breath. "you just told me you don't want me; i think it's valid i can look however i want." your voice breaks off at the end of the sentence and you blink at the darkening clouds above. a storm was coming, but you felt like one had already devastated you.
"that-that's not what i meant," he says through gritted teeth, avoiding your glaring eyes in shame. "i just need a break. is that so bad?" every word felt like a separate cut to your soul and you were slowly bleeding out in the fucking mall parking lot.
"but, why? i'm just not good enough for you?" you practically spit your questions like snake venom. you hoped they stung, hoped the burned into his memory like his promises that he'd give you a future. high and mighty gojo satoru, reduced to a puddle in your arms and vowing that he was yours forever. pathetic. "finally got tired of me, is that it?"
"no," he croaked. "no, no. i just-i don't know who i am when i'm with you." the sky was falling and you hoped the ground crumbled beneath your muddy shoes. "and, that scares me."
"you don't like who you are when you're with me," you echo hollowly, taking a shaky breath and pulling your jacket closer to your body like a safety blanket. "that's really a shame, since i really liked how you were with me," you huff another painfully mirthless laugh that turns into a sob. on instinct, he reaches out to touch you but you pull away like he was radioactive waste. "making all those lofty promises, letting me think that i was your forever and eternity and everything after that. you're really an asshole for that one, you know that?"
"i never said anything like that," he protests even though you know damn well that he's lying. raindrops start to catch on his hair, making it glisten like he was sent from heaven. too bad his words didn't match. "even if i said those things, i can't guarantee i actually meant it, so i'm sorry."
ouch.
"you're sorry? you're sorry?" you have to take a step backward or else you'd have actually slammed your knuckles against his infuriatingly perfect cheek. "gee, thanks! i'll remember that next time anyone says they love me," you hiss and relish in the way he flinches. "they could just be kidding, after all, right? stupid me." it took so long to finally get through to him, to stand steady enough that he let down his walls, and suddenly he was throwing them up again and shutting you out.
if you were completely honest and without your stubborn pride, you'd admit that you understood what he was talking about. it was a little lonely being with him, especially when you didn't have any more time for self-discovery without worrying about another human being. you lost track of time when you were with him and lost a little bit of yourself, too, and you weren't sure if he was adequately filling that emptiness. you had no idea how to discuss it, let alone navigate it, and it struck a crack that only grew larger. neither of you knew how to cope with this, it seemed, and that's how you ended up sobbing on the asphalt in front of the man you believed you were going to marry.
"don't you wonder who we could be without each other? we could be anyone," he insists but nothing gets through to you.
"i don't know who i am without you, satoru," you whisper defeatedly and it's like you can hear his heart start to crumble. he did this to you, and you watched him realize it in real-time. he didn't know what he was saying anymore. he felt too far deep in that he didn't remember why he was asking for a break in the first place. all that he knew was that he was hurting you and every nerve in his body screamed at him to fix it, fix it, fix it. you sigh tiredly, shivering in the cold sheets of water that were starting to fall. "look, if you need time, then take it. take all that you need."
"but-"
"no. i can't do this to myself if you won't even try anymore. goodbye satoru. a stupid part of me still loves you." as you slip into your car and accelerate away from him, he doesn't have the chance to say it back.
to tell you that the stupid whole of him still loved you, too.

Before the *e word* talk started, Monday evening I was thinking about how The Louvre (that was a couple hours late to open Monday morning for “unforeseen circumstances”) would’ve been SUCH a Tayvis place to get engaged.
I would love a little one shot pretty please🥹
A quartet in concerts
contains: fluff, Taylor x Travis
words: 1.2k

It was the 8th of May. One day before the new Eras Tour started. Taylor and Travis entered the entrance of the Louvre museum in Paris.
Especially for them, the museum opened early before the normal visits. Travis had organised that. Taylor had no clue how he managed it, but it must involve a lot of money. Their bodyguards positioned in the main hall, right at the entrance. One of them wished them much fun as they followed the tour route to the first room. Taylor thanked him and took Travis hand.
Normally, it would be totally crowded here so Taylor was glad that they had their peace and togetherness. She admired the beautiful architecture and sculptures. She had always been a fan of this art and building style. It was so different from most the ones in America.
"You've been here before right?", Travis asked and squeezed her hand lightly. Today he wore a flannel jacket over his white shirt. He was growing out his hair again and it looked better each single day.
Taylor smiled. He was stunning and she was so proud to call him hers.
"Yeah", she answered. "But it was a lot more crowded back then." They laughed. "Oh I can imagine.", he said.
They stopped at a Greek sculpture. It was a man with a horse.
"Huh. Incredible, isn't it?", Travis asked. Tay just nodded impressed.
"And what are your favorite paintings here?", he asked. "Something special? Or more mainstream? Mona Lisa?"
Taylor chuckled "It's 'A quartet in concert'. The 'Mona Lisa' is pretty overrated. Sadly."
Travis grinned. "Of course it is the painting with the music"
They laughed and continued their tour.
"Are you nervous for tomorrow?", he wanted to know and gave her a concerning look.
"A bit", Taylor admitted.
"I've been on stage for so many years now and I still get nervous every time." She made a voicless laugh. "Kinda weird, huh?"
"No, I think not. I am nervous before every game. That's normal, I guess." Travis shrugged and put an arm around Taylor's shoulders. "But don't worry, you'll have me. I'll be on your side as your lucky charm." He gave her a heartwarming smile.
"Thank you." Taylor said. "But let's not talk about tomorrow. Let's enjoy this night. With only the two of us."
The entered the next room. It was full of paintings. "Oh look! There it is!", said Taylor excitedly and walked to a large painting on the right wall.
"A quartet in concert by Jean Raoux", read Travis. Four people were on that painting, one singer, one girl playing a flute and two girls reading.
"It's beautiful.", he smiled.
"It seems so peaceful.", said Taylor and admired the different colors. "I wish I could paint like that.", she admitted. And a dreamy gaze fell onto her eyes. Travis touched her shoulder.
"You can sing. Certainly better than those people.", he nodded towards the painting. Taylor laughed. "Who knows? Maybe that's the Taylor Swift from their time."
"Nah", Travis made a grimace and they had to laugh. For a second, they just looked at each other, happy to be here.
"I don't know how it could get any better than this.", Travis then said after a while. They still admired the painting. Taylor found more details in this art then last time she was here.
Her brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"
He gave her a look she couldn't determine. Then, Travis fell down on his knee and reached into the pocket of his jacket. A small dark box lay in his hand. He opened it and a dainty silver ring came to light. Taylor's breath got caught in her throat. Only to let her heart start racing. She put her hands over her mouth, only to realise they were shaking. Travis cleared this throat.
"When I made this friendship bracelet, I never thought it would lead to this.
I never thought we both would end up here. Together. You mean so much to me Taylor. And I can't imagine a life without you. You make me whole, I feel like a completely new person since I met you." He looked deeply in her eyes. And Taylor could swear his eyes were glazy.
"I know you may not be ready for this. But that's okay. I can wait. I will wait a whole lifetime for you, baby. I choose you and me."
He took a deep breath. "Taylor Swift, do you want to marry me?"
"Oh Travis", she whispered, tears in her eyes. Then she fell down on her knees and kissed him deeply. Their lips had been clashed together a thousand times but right now it felt like the first time ever.
"Yes! I do! I love you." The tears now ran freely over her cheeks. With a knuckle of his finger, Travis gently wiped her tears off her cheek.
Taylor put a hand on his face. Looking in his eyes deeply before tightly wrapping her arms around him.
"I love you baby.", Travis whispered in her hair. She could hear his voice tremble.
"You don't know how much this means to me.", she said with a teary voice. "I never thought, I could love someone that much again."
"I love you", he whispered in her ear. "You never have to be alone. From now on, I will always be there for you."
They let go of each other and Travis took her hand. Although he played a ruff sport, his hands were soft and gentle. Carefully, he placed the ring on her finger. It fit like it was specifically made for her.
"It's wonderful", Taylor breathed. She felt like hear heart would explode.
"You are wonderful.", Travis corrected and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. His eyes wandered back and forth between hers.
"Come", he said and pulled her up back in their feet. They hugged and kissed again and Taylor said: "You have no idea how happy you make me." She wiped her tears away and looked at the ring. At the new promise.
"How long have you planned this?", she asked. Travis chuckled. "Oh that's my secret."
Taylor poked him in the ribs. "C'mon", but Travis only shook his head with a wide grin on his lips.
"You're unbelievable", she laughed and took his hand.
"I know", he said and leaned in to kiss her deeply.
"Just one thing", Taylor said when they finished their kiss.
"No one has to know about this, okay? No one, just the two of us."
"Deal", Travis said and kissed her again.
When they came back to the entrance hall, their bodyguards grinned at them. Taylor had to laugh. They all knew what would happen this whole time.
She looked down at her hand, the new ring sparkled in the dim light. She was going to marry! That's all she ever wanted and Travis gave her this. It felt like a dream. Like a wonderland.
She could not wait for the future. Their future. Together.

Note: “Imagine how greedy Ross Humboldt gets over your body when he can tell you’re pregnant with multiples.” Contains sex pollen, too.
It was late by less than two weeks. How Mr. Humboldt knew he was a father again was beyond you. Eight days. A week and a day since he’d successfully inseminated you. Which Ross claimed would result in “a whole brood of ______-Humboldts!”
A father again and again and…
The lush grassland wanted to share its fecundity with its guests. Or subjects. Whatever it deemed you two. You weren’t a member of the Church of the Black Rock. Ross was. Initially, you didn’t like calling him by his first name. Who would, in your circumstances? Pretending he was still married to Natalie didn’t help. (You’d tried.) “Till death do we part” and all that. A normal union whose vows might not apply to Ross’s new marriage.
“I haven’t even taken a test.”
“But you are,” Ross insisted with a smile. Ignoring the ridiculousness of your statement. There were no pharmacies out here.
Dodging his caresses wasn’t an option now.
Not that you wanted to. There wasn’t much else to do. A bag of books to fight ennui. Some convenience store fare. Your leash was shorter than ever after the escape. Which had been too easy. Ross slept like the dead after screwing. Maybe the Tall Grass thought it tamed you. Or it liked to tease. A yawning path tempted you out of the maze. The church remained fixed even as you jumped up one, two, three, four times. Heart thumping, you made a break for it. Thankful that with everything/-one lost, your keys remained pocketed.
Find a station. No, not a police station. A gas station. Nobody rational will believe me. Becky, Cal, Tobin, Travis. All gone. Whether from the mortal plane or just the Grass, who knows? And what plane is the Tall Grass the entry for, anyway? Fairyland, limbo, some fresh hellscape? Okay, found a station.
After that, you were on autopilot. Waking up in the passenger seat to Ross racing back down the way you came. “Racing” was a bit strong. Just going a bit above the speed limit. Nothing a typical suburban dad wouldn’t do on the way to a beguiling destination.
“Picked up some groceries while you were out.”
It wasn’t stated like a question. You had one or a dozen, but swallowed your queries. The Tall Grass wasn’t so isolated. Not like Ross and me and babies makes one, two, three… It shouldn’t have been able to reach out that far. Pollen, maybe. Your new family was rooted here. The idea of rhizomes reaching out miles upon miles, seeking your footfalls… Because you had been barefoot. Shoes long lost to the Grass during Ross’s wooing. You hoped the convenience store clerk didn’t notice. She either hadn’t or was too polite to say anything. Too bad there hadn’t been a drive-through.
“Good,” Ross continued, “you’re going to need all the nutrients you can get. Need to keep your strength up. For all the fucking.”
A giggle bolted from your mouth. The sky was darkening but you spotted a Plymouth Fury. So you were entering the Tall Grass where you’d exited. For the last time, probably.
“And the birthing, of course. I’ll help with that.”
“Like you did with Becky?”
It just slipped out. Ross smoothly parked your vehicle. For a wild second, you imagined plowing through the vegetation. Mowing it down. Ripping open packs of snacks, scattering, and stomping on them. Their saltiness ensuring nothing green grew there ever again as you smooshed them into the ground.
“Now, ______,” Ross chastised, rolling down your window. Like you needed fresh air. “I’m not a certified midwife, but we’re going to have help. I want our babies to be safe and healthy just as much as you do.”
His tone made you feel childish. Throwing a temper tantrum wasn’t going to help. Your face flushed further as he poked at your panties.
“Look, all those hormones aren’t just making you wet. They’re also giving you nesting instincts.”
“They are?” you asked, snapping your eyes away from the Grass. The blades of which sought you out like sunlight. If it wasn’t dusk, you might have noticed the large clumps of pollen wafting through the air. If it wasn’t dusk, and Ross hadn’t been massaging you through your underwear.
You shut your eyes and inhaled.
“Let me do the errands in the future, okay?”
“Ross, someone might see usssss.” Your plea quickly turned into a hiss of pleasure. He’d pulled aside the soaked cotton to reveal your warm cunt. His thumb teased your slit, making you try to push yourself onto it. Mr. Humboldt’s current favorite hole of yours leaked onto his hands.
“We got a gusher!”
Your thighs tried to rub together, but your spouse quickly withdrew his thumb before prying apart both soft limbs.
“Uh uh. Take your skirt off.”
You nodded, obediently unbuttoning. However, the skirt was actually part of a dress with a differently patterned top and bottom. As soon as Ross caught sight of your soon-to-be swollen breasts, the last thread of his restraint unraveled.
“Fuck, I’m so greedy for your body.”
His face burrowed into your tits, supported by a front-fastening bra. Once unlocked, they sprang free, ready to get sucked by Ross for nine months straight. And afterwards. His hands stayed on your legs. Squeezing them tighter and tighter, till you cried out. Wanting to suckle each nipple, but unsure which to start on, he nuzzled the cleft of your breasts.
“Twins mean double the milk. And quads-!”
He groaned, unable to resist your now yielding thighs. Or your puffy nips or the fact you had an unfilled gap hot and dripping. You hadn’t been penetrated for almost half a day, which was a problem. Unless asleep, Ross knew you needed at least a couple fingers inside your warm hole. Preferably a cock, though. He needed to be stretching you out for childbirth. Make it feel almost weird not to have something inside you.
(The fact that’s not how vaginae worked wouldn’t occur until post-nut clarity. Ross was just that psyched for you to deliver quadruplets.)
If your nethers got too sore, he’d love to sandwich himself between plump tits. Plumpening tits.
“Ross, take me inside the grass.”
Your husband complied, leading you by the waist. The tips of your nips hardened, reaching out for the Grass’s blades. Ross matched your smile as the greenery encased you both. Looking forward to ______’s birth canal getting plugged, overflowing with cum, bearing brood after brood after brood. You were spot on about the Tall Grass’s desire to share its fecundity. About making Mr. Humboldt’s length swell only at the thought of worshiping your arable body.
Letting you go had been a fun experiment. Ross would be in charge of grocery shopping from now on, though. It didn’t need you to touch the Rock. Not yet. Not with its pollen keeping you compliant and, more importantly, aroused.
The newlyweds were enjoying their stroll to the center of the contiguous United States. You absentmindedly fingered your coochie, prepping it for more breeding, while one of Ross’s hands slid up to work a nipple.
Yeah, you were going to enjoy maternity.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for one person in a ship to be looking at another like they're the most beautiful person in the world but imagine with me. Dante for some reason, could be an AU or something, is doing manual labor like chopping down trees or lifting boxes or something in an open flannel, a comfortable t-shirt, jeans, and some dirt on him and Travis just staring. Stops functioning.
Then Dante catches him and shoots him a bright smile and waves. And Travis is still staring but with a dopey smile and huge blush and can only move his arm to wave. Travis basically has cartoony hearts around him.
Actually I've never thought of that before. Travis has powers right? Like what if his magic gives him away by making cartoony hearts be around himself or in his eyes or sparkles appear around Dante or something? Especially when they were high schoolers. That would be SO CUTE
HOW DID I NOT SEE THIS WTF
anyways :3 sorry for being late ..
i LIEV THAT I LOVE THE TROPE OF JUST LIKE ONE PERSON STARES AND THE OTHER ONE JUST AAUGGGHH
AND ABOUT THE MAGIC THING, i loovee drawing mys travis with demon horns and a demon tail and I HEAVILY headcanon that his tail wags or his pointy ears wiggle when dante does something he finds attractive or cute etc.
and oh boy.. do NOT get me started on werewolf and meif’wa dante when it comes to him being head over heels for travis

I need to vent.
Don't feel obligated to post this but: I find it so very funny that TKelc breeder comments (context: on their podcast he and his brother have their mum as guest, they ask her who her favourite is and she picks his brother because he gave her grandchildren. it is all jokes. and during those jokes tk says he needs to find himself a breeder).
What gets me is that this is being heavily explained away/defended by people who will say oh it was a joke, you need to hear it in context. Which - I agree, it was a joke and we shouldn't crucify him over it. But it was still sexist. Deeply rooted in sexism and to me no better than when a man jokingly refers to women as females.
So - his sexism (whether purpiseful or not, conscious or not) gets a pass as a joke. And yet, every single word that has come out of Matty Healy's mouth in the past decade was subject to such scrutiny. Such vitriol. And there was no context allowed. Sentences were being ripped from whole interviews, words have been twisted... let alone trying to justify some things as a joke. That one was met w pushback.
Not to mention the whole situation surrounding TK's teammate's brother (?) and the SA allegations. Or TKs participation on a dating show where multiple women try to date him I guess. Again deeply rooted in sexism. That one gets a free pass because he "needed the money" back then (2016ish?). But Matty's statements about Taylor were dragged around as prime example of his sexism (false statements), with no context, and no understanding of the fact that time has passed.
Like, I am so sorry but I am never ever getting over the treatment Matty got. And it has permanently distanced me from the fandom as such. Not all people are like this but most of them are duplicitous and sheep with no critical thinking skills. And I cant shit on the situation because some nice people I am mutuals with like TK and are excited about all the new things while I'm sitting here having war flashbacks to late spring 2023 and thinking how if this were Matty now they would still be ripping him apart.
Ok. Rant over. Sorry.
I 100000% agree with everything you said.
Add this to it:
And it’s just… ick.
He reminds me of DJ Khalid. I remember the outcry when he said something very very similar and people TORE him to shreds, which is expected.
Another example of why Swifties are down right racist, vain, and performative they are.
I’ve come to the conclusion that Taylor’s Swifties don’t actually care if Taylor is happy. She can stand in front of them, tell them she is the happiest she has ever been and what do they do? They keep acting like pompous, privileged… use your imagination because my word would get me kicked off here.
Orc Boy is, in their eyes, the perfect white man for Taylor. He’s “good looking” (🤢) and he’s white. End of story.
Matty’s looks are… not your traditional hot guy looks. (I think he’s hot as hell) and he’s got that artistic soul, likes reading, poetic etc. Something many of her ex’s are. Travis admits he doesn’t read for fun. He’s not poetic. Taylor likes to collaborate with anyone she is with as we have seen in the past… but the Swifties don’t care. They approve of him because he’s a hot meat head. It’s very high school. Hot guy on the football team. He’s the guy everyone wants. He can say or do whatever he wants and no one cares. Why? Because he’s the hot “football” player.

The girl with the broken smile
Chapter 2
Warnings: angst, some language, lots of crying and mentions of cheating/STD’s.
I’m having too much fun writing for him. Hope you enjoy. Keep a lookout for some updates in the coming days!!
I’m sorry but he’s so funny🤣🤣🤣

“What a sap.” Travis mumbled as he watched Nolan leave the room to take a phone call from Sawyer.
“Oh leave him alone.” Nash said from her spot on the recliner “I think it’s kind of sweet.”
“If by sweet you mean pathetic. He’s practically drowning in his own drool and she’s not even here yet. Can you imagine what he’s gonna be like in a few weeks.”
“They’re just friends Trav.”
“Yeah.” He scoffed using his fingers to air quote “Just friends my ass.”
“Are we talking about Nolan or your ass.”
“Nolan is an ass. But that’s besides the point. If he likes her why doesn’t he just say so.” As Travis said it he realized how dumb he sounded to himself. Here he was, sitting at his kitchen island preaching about being honest when it came to feelings, while he himself harbored elephant sized feelings for his own best friend who was seated 10 feet away.
“I don’t know.” She shrugged “Maybe he’s afraid she doesn’t feel the same or something. A lot of people don’t say how they feel for that reason.”
“Well that’s just dumb. Why would she reject him?”
“Maybe she thinks they’re really “just friends” Nash said also air quoting. Before Travis could answer Nolan stepped back inside, cheeks pink and turned to them.
“Sorry that was-“
“Oh we know. That virginal blush all over your cheeks tells us it was “Just your friend.” Travis said, adding an air quote. Nolan scowled and glanced at Nash.
“How is “Just your friend” Sawyer?” Nash asked, air quoting also.
“She’s fine and this whole air quotes thing is starting to “piss me off.” He said raising his hands to quote himself. But he was smiling.
“When’s she coming anyways?” Travis asked reaching for the orange juice.
“3 weeks.”
“And how many teammates did you beat up and tell to stay away from her?” Nash asked.
“I haven’t beaten anyone up….”
“But you did tell every to stay away from her?”
Nolan opened his mouth to speak and then slowly closed it looking at his feet.
Travis was snickering and shaking his head “Your such a nerd Pat.”
Nolan waved him off and left a little while later, leaving Nash alone with Travis.
It had been just over 2 weeks since she’d become his new roommate and he had thus far shot down any mention of her getting her own place. He’d come up with every excuse in the book, and even went so far as to buy a fuck ton of plants, insisting she needed to continue to live there to water them. He suspected she was on to him, but it was so nice having her back he didn’t want to chance letting her go again.
Her company and everything that came with it made his apartment feel warm and fuzzy, and he hadn’t stopped smiling since she got there. She was at every game, and it just felt so good to have her around again, and the best part was that Justin had left her alone.
She’d gotten into the house to get the last few items she’d left there, and other than him telling her to come get her mail as it came, he hadn’t even attempted to get in contact with her.
Though it was for the best, Travis could tell that it hurt her. He hadn’t begged, pleaded, promised to change. He didn’t put up a fight to keep her or win her back. In fact, he’d let her go so easily it was almost like he’d never been a part of her life at all.
Sometimes late at night Travis could hear her crying, but he never asked her about it because if she wanted him to know she would come to him. He spent most of those nights lying awake, thinking about that night they’d slept in the same bed.
He really would have risked it if she’d asked him to. He thought for just a moment that maybe she would try to kiss him, and was mildly disappointed when she didn’t, but in the end he was actually glad now that it didn’t happen. While he wanted nothing more than for her to like him that way, he wanted it to be when she was clear headed and she wanted it to happen as much as he did. Not when she was heartbroken about some dumbass who never appreciated how amazing she was.
He had vowed to her, himself and anyone who would listen long enough, that he would never EVER let that happen again. He had stood idly by because he didn’t want to make a wave, and terrible things had happened. But that wouldn’t happen again.
She was lying on her side across the loveseat with her arm propped under her head. Her eyes were closed, and there was a comfortable silence for a few minutes until she spoke.
“Hey Trav?” She glanced up at him through her lashes and smiled a little “Thanks for everything.”
“You don’t have to keep thanking me you know.”
“I know, but I wouldn’t make it through all this without you.”
He felt a few butterflies fluttering around and he smiled “You know I’m always here for you. No matter what happens.”
“You have no idea how much that means to me. Really. It’s good to know that I didn’t completely alienate you after all this time.”
“Never. I just figured you were happy and I didn’t want to ruin that. But that was wrong of me and I should have done more.”
She pursed her lips but shook her head “Nah. I wouldn’t have ever admitted there might have been a problem. My head was so far up my own ass I can’t even believe I was so dumb.”
“Your not dumb.”
“I was though. Now that I’m clearheaded I can see how dumb I was. That wasn’t love, that was manipulation at its finest.”
“Its okay Nash. I’m just glad your back.” He smiled broadly at her, and for a small moment she felt a sensation in her stomach she never had before.
One of the first things she’d noticed about Travis was his smile. It was wide, genuine and lit up his whole face every time she saw it. It never occurred to her that his smile was always extra wide, extra bright, and extra genuine when it was aimed at her. But the more time she spent with him and around her forgotten friend group, the more she noticed the little things.
He hung on her every word. He always listened to what she was talking about like he was trying to memorize everything she was saying and imprint it into his brain. He was never far from her, always within arms length. She had always chalked it up to their closeness, and now it seemed like Travis was constantly shielding her from the world, which she figured had something to do with Justin.
He’d held her hand every step of the way through her round of antibiotics, the tears, and her eventual emergence back into her old life. She felt good, better than she had in a really long time. She had missed her friends more than she realized, and was so thankful for everything they’d done to help her since she moved out.
Libby, Joel, Carter, Kevin and Nolan in particular had been there for all of it, and she would never be able to repay them for their strength and kindness they’d showed her at what she was sure would be the lowest point in her life.
“I have practice early.” Travis said offhandedly, jarring her from her thoughts “So I’ll be gone most of the morning. I figured maybe you’d want to meet up with Libby so Beezer said she would text you about it.”
Nash had noticed that since her split with Justin, Travis never left her alone for a long time. When he wasn’t around, he made sure someone else was. While Nash loved and appreciated him for it, she also didn’t want him to feel obligated to have her being constantly babysat.
“Sure. But you know I’d be okay here alone right?”
“Nash you’ve been alone for too long. You need people around you who love you. And Libby loves you….maybe even more than she loves Beezer. And that’s a fuck ton of love.”
Nash cracked a smile and laughed “I guess your right. Okay, lunch it is.”
**********
“So do you-“
“No.”
Libby threw the straw wrapper at her and made a face “I didn’t even ask my question yet.” They were seated in a small restaurant, just the two of them. It was mostly empty, allowing them to speak freely and without filters.
“I already know what your going to say and the answer is no.”
Libby stared at her from across the table until it made her uncomfortable and she looked up “Okay fine. What’s your question?”
“Is something happening between you and Travis?”
“No. Why would there be?”
“I don’t know that’s why I’m asking. I mean you guys are living together now, and it just seems like you two have gotten really close.”
“We’ve always been really close.”
“No.” Libby smiled and shook her head “Not like this. Do you share a bed?”
Nash felt her face get red, which was something that didn’t happen very often “No. I use the spare room for your information.”
“But you have shared a bed before?” She questioned, eyes flicking up to meet hers as she sipped at her water.
“No-well yeah I mean-once.”
“And nothing happened?”
“No it was the night-the night I found out about the Chlamydia. No funny business.”
“So that’s the only reason it didn’t happen then. Got it.”
“What are you-“
“Travis told Joel that that’s why he was chasing Justin through the house shirtless when we got there. Because Justin walked in on you guys in bed together.”
Nash pursed her lips “Well yeah but we were just sleeping. Justin took it out of context.”
“But you didn’t correct him.” Libby said slyly over her menu, eyes narrowing as a smile crept across her face “So maybe nothing happened, but that doesn’t mean you don’t wish it did.”
“I don’t honestly. I love Travis but that would really change things between us, and I just got him back and I’m too afraid to even think about that. Travis came over because I didn’t know what to do when I got the test result.”
“You know none of this is your fault right? And I hope you aren’t blaming yourself. There is literally nothing you or anyone can do to stop a guy from cheating.” Libby had an apologetic look on her face from across the table. Next to Travis and Carter, she was her closest friend during this process of untangling her life from Justin’s. While the others were supportive and there for her whenever she needed, conversations about Chlamydia weren’t ones she wanted to have with the guys. Not even Carter.
“I know. But I feel like I should have seen it coming, and I’m a little embarrassed.”
“I get what you mean but you shouldn’t be. To be honest, none of us really liked him to begin with, but we put up with him because we love you. Now that he’s gone, things feel normal again.”
“Agreed. It used to make me so sad, I felt like I missed out on so much while my head was shoved up my own ass.”
“Don’t say that. He’s a manipulator Nash, and that’s what they do.”
Nash smiled “Your pretty smart Lib. Did you know that?”
“Of course I am. I’ve been doing two sets of homework since the 8th grade, I better be smart.”she smiled a little and stirred the ice in her drink “So you really don’t think there could ever be anything between you and him?”
“I guess I can’t say never, because anything could happen but I don’t think he sees me that way. I mean we’re best friends, and changing that would be crazy right?”
Libby smiled and leaned back in her chair “I think I’m the wrong person to ask that. I don’t think it’s crazy at all. Who would take better care of you then Travis? Besides me of course, but sadly I’m not available. Though Joel has been pissing me off lately so I -“
“Shutup.” Nash said laughing.
Libby smiled “It’s so good to see you so happy again.” She reached across the table and squeezed her hand “And about Travis, don’t count him out. He might surprise you.”
***********
“So when are you making your move buddy.” Kevin asked as they packed up their gear to go home.
“What move?”
He knew what he meant of course, but to acknowledge it in front of Kevin meant that he was thinking of making a move. He was sure the guys knew how he felt about Nash, so he wasn’t embarrassed but he also wasn’t admitting it out loud. They were dumb, but they weren’t that dumb. Sometimes Travis wondered how they could see it but Nash couldn’t.
“Come on.” Joel said rolling his eyes “You guys are playing house now. Nothing is going on between you?”
“No it’s not.”
“Why? Because she seems to be pretty happy without Justin. This is your chance to slide into his place.”
“Nothing’s happening.” Travis said simply with a shrug “I only just got her back. I’m not ready to scare her away again.”
Nolan glanced at him and then cleared his throat “Leave him alone guys. He’s in a tough spot.”
“You would know.” Joel said giggling as he stood and stretched.
“Yeah you would too.” Carter said as he stuffed his clothes in his bag.
“I do know.” Joel said “Which is why I’m telling him that he should come clean to her. Do you know how long I could have been with Libby if I hadn’t pulled a Travis or a Nolan? Years bro. Years.”
Nolan glared at him “What? Leave me out of this.”
“Oh please.” Joel rolled his eyes, and chucked a ball of tape at him “Don’t even start. A girl is literally uprooting her life to come and move here to be closer to you and she’s just your friend?”
“Yes.”
“Ha. If that’s your story.” Joel said with a scoff. Nolan and Travis looked at each other, speechless before Joel spoke again “All I’m saying is take it from a guy who knows. If you keep waiting, someone is gonna take your spot.” He turned and left, leaving Travis with Nolan and Carter. It was quiet for a minute before Nolan announced he was leaving, two spots of pink high on his cheeks. Carter was staring at Travis as Nolan left through the locker room doors.
“What do you-what do you think?” He finally asked Carter. If there was anyone who was as close or maybe even closer to Nash besides Libby, it was Carter. They’d become almost instant friends, and he knew for a fact she confided in Carter about things she didn’t tell him. Carter pursed his lips and looked at the wall opposite them.
“Well. I guess it doesn’t matter what I think. It matters what she thinks. I know you like her, and I would be willing to bet she feels the same deep down, but-“ he thought for a second before he continued “What Justin did to her is going to take a while to heal from. He really messed her up.”
“I know. I didn’t know it was that bad.”
“I didn’t know either. I know things weren’t healthy, but she never told me the extent of it.” Travis sighed and then frowned “Don’t blame yourself. There’s nothing we could have done.” Carter said shaking his head.
“I know I just-if I had-never mind.”
Carter smiled a little “This is a tough conversation for me. I don’t know anything about love, but I think you should just take it slow with her ya know? If you feel that way about her that is. She’s been through a lot.”
“I know. And that’s why I’m just happy being her friend for now I guess.”
“And what happens if it’s only “For now” forever?” Carter asked, leaning forward a little “What then?”
“I don’t-I don’t really know. Hopefully we never get there yeah?”
**********
Nash thought about what Libby said for the rest of the day. She had been so infatuated with Justin that she’d never even thought about Travis that way. Now that Justin wasn’t clouding her mind, she realized that Travis had always been kinder and more attentive than he had ever been.
He was there for her no matter what, even when she wasn’t always there for him. The number of times she’d been made to cancel plans, or ignore texts, or even blow him off when they did have plans hurt her to even think about. While he didn’t blame her, she blamed herself.
She’d been a terrible best friend, and she would spend the rest of her life feeling bad about it, and trying to make it up to him, and while it was easy to blame it all on Justin, it was her fault too. He had been controlling, but she’d allowed him to do it and it was wrong. Travis was in her life before him, and though she’d refused to give him up Justin still cut him out as much as he could.
But that was over now.
She watched him as he moved across the room, talking about practice and how annoying Nolan was being about Sawyer. She was listening to him, but her mind was elsewhere.
“So anyways.” He said sitting down opposite her with a huff “What do you wanna do today? I was thinking maybe we go out for dinner, if you want to that is?”
She didn’t, but his hopeful smile was slowly changing her mind.
“Sure.” She said sitting up and stretching “I need some time to get ready and change though.”
She left the room, changed, fixed her hair and then followed him out the door, and together they drove to the place Travis had picked.
“I’m starving.” He complained “All that drooling Nolan’s been doing made me lose my appetite earlier.”
Nash giggled and moved around him to walk through the door as he held it open for her. When they were seated she folded her hands in front of her.
“So I’ve been thinking. Maybe I should get my own place soonish.”
He looked crestfallen, menu out in front of him “Wh-why?”
“No reason really, I just feel bad taking up space in your apartment.”
“You’re not taking up any space.”
“I am though. An entire room of space, and what about your privacy? When you go out with the guys don’t you ever wanna bring girls home?”
“No.” He said simply, eyes still holding hers.
“Why?”
He pursed his lips “Because I just don’t. We only just started to hang out again, I’m going to take advantage of spending this time with you.”
She smiled a little and sighed “I don’t want to leave, I just feel bad inconveniencing your life.”
“You could never be an inconvenience and you know it. Stay a while. I’m fine with it.”
The waitress came to ask their order, and flirted shamelessly with Travis. Nash looked a little offended when she left.
“That was bold.”
“What was?”
“The waitress. I mean I was right here and she was basically trying to get you to bang her on the table.”
“Was she? I didn’t even notice. I’m spending time with my best friend. That’s what’s important.”
Nash frowned but didn’t say anything more as they fell into easy conversation. But the more she thought about it, and started paying attention the more she realized that since she met him, she’d never seen Travis show any romantic interest in a girl. In fact she’d never seen him show any interest in a girl ever. He was always polite and friendly, but never flirtatious. Now whatever happened when he went home to Ontario she wasn’t sure, and she didn’t really wanna know, but while he was in Philly he was celibate. To her knowledge anyway.
And it wasn’t like he didn’t have options. She saw the way girls looked at him, batting their eyelashes and smiling like lunatics. But he never took the bait. Not even once.
“So are you looking forward to meeting Nolan’s girlfriend?” He asked as they ate.
“Yeah I think it’ll be good for him. But I don’t think she’s his girlfriend.”
“Not yet you mean. They’ll be here without parental supervision, which means pants off dance off.”
“Stop it.” She said biting back a laugh “Nolan doesn’t dance you know that. As far as the pants part, idk does he even know what a girl is?”
Travis’s smile faltered just a minute and he shook his head “No, I mean I don’t think he’s been with anyone since he’s been here. But that’s his business.”
She frowned “So has he been? Not that it matters, because he’s single but I would be very surprised if he was.”
“Uh. I don’t really know. He loves Sawyer, and he would never wanna hurt her. He is single, and I’m sure if he has hooked up with anyone he would regret it.”
He wouldn’t be telling her of course about what he knew. What Nolan did in Philly was Nolan’s business, but he had sworn Travis to secrecy about it. While Nolan was single, Travis knew that all Sawyer would have to do was ask and he would be with her in a second. The idea that some dumb girl he’d hooked up with, might jeopardize his relationship with a girl he was clearly in love with sent Nolan into a panic. Travis had assured him that he would take it to the grave, because he sympathized with him. He knew what it felt like to walk on glass for a girl you loved.
“Anyways I-“
But Nash’s expression made him stop speaking. He knew that look. He turned slowly and saw Justin standing in the doorway of the restaurant with a girl, presumably the one he’d cheated with or one of them. Travis could feel rage as Justin spotted them, and a large smug smile spread across his face.
Nash’s face was white as a ghost, eyes unfocused and brimming with tears. Justin nodded his head at her and looped his arms around the girls shoulders.
“That’s it.” Travis growled “I’m taking that mother fucker out-“
“No!” Nash said reaching across the table to grab his arm “Stop, let’s just leave okay?”
Travis was breathing hard through his nose as the waitress brought their check and he stood up sharply, chair screeching across the floor. In order to leave they had to pass Justin and Nash thought for a second she might vomit. He looked up as they passed before he said one simple word.
“Slut.”
Travis nearly knocked her over in his haste to lunge at him, grabbing a fistful of Justin’s shirt before yanking him out of the chair. The girl looked alarmed as she too stood up. Nash quickly grabbed Travis’s arm, panicked remembering that even Kevin couldn’t hold Travis back, and there would be no way she could.
“Travis. Travis.” She said hurriedly, pulling on his arm as he ragdolled Justin a few times. The few other patrons had turned at the commotion and some even came over to help, but when he turned to look at her, he let out a breath and released Justin, shoving him away.
“You aren’t worth it. Stay the fuck away from her.” He said pointing at him.
Nash tossed money at the girl behind the counter not staying to get the change as she followed Travis outside and into the car. His arms were shaking and he didn’t say a word the whole ride home, and when they entered the apartment they went to their respective rooms without talking.
After a while Nash laid down and closed her eyes, tears sliding across her nose and down on to her bed spread. The city lights were throwing shadows across her bedroom as she laid there crying. Some nights she drifted off to sleep easy, and others she seemed to lay awake for hours. On those nights she could usually be found sobbing until she couldn’t anymore.
She put on a brave face for her friends, and it was almost good enough to fool them. She sniffled a little holding in a particularly brutal sob, so to not alert Travis, who’s room was right across the hall. She didn’t hear any noises coming from it, so she assumed he was either sleeping or didn’t want to be bothered. A loud breath came out of her mouth and she gave a big shudder.
It was hard to feel both heartbroken and relieved and to feel guilty about both of those emotions. She might not have been so sad if Justin had made more of an effort to get her back. While she would never be with him again, it made her wonder if she had always just been a toy to him. As if being cheated on wasn’t painful enough, not being fought for was crushing. He acted like she’d never even existed, like she was so insignificant to him that he could just throw her away like that.
It hurt.
It felt like a knife was cutting into her chest the more she thought about it, slicing away and making her bleed. It was hard to breathe, as she sobbed again, gripping the blanket. She wanted nothing more than to scream and cry but she couldn’t get the noise out.
“Nash?”
She sat up a little and found Travis, standing in her doorway.
“Oh Nash.” He was across the room and had her in his arms before she could even register he was in there.
She lost it.
Big fat tears rolled down her face as her sobs came full force. Travis sighed from somewhere above her and rested his chin on the top of her head.
“I’m so sorry. You don’t deserve any of this.” He said quietly, hand moving up and down her back “This is so wrong.”
She couldn’t formulate words, just sobs in response as he continued to rub her back and whisper words of encouragement until she started to calm down.
She lifted her head up and met his eye, realizing how close his face was to hers. He lifted a hand up to let it rest on her cheek, eyes moving over his face.
“Nash I-“
A horn blared outside startling her, and she leaned back wiping under her eyes, but he stayed in his spot.
“Sorry Trav. I just lost it for a second there. Thanks.” She chuckled a little as she stood, folding her arms across her chest.
He was staring at the floor and nodded slowly “Sure.”
He stood and walked towards the door, turning to look at her one last time before he closed it behind him.

Things I've noticed on my Yellowjackets rewatch (S1E3)
-The way Shauna interacts with Callie sort of like a mother....but also sort of like another teenage girl interacting with another? Like one moment she's an adult, the next she's a lonely girl wanting to hang out: she's annoyed at Callie's sarcasm and also withering in her turn, she's worried about Callie being out late and also internally seething that Callie sees her as past it, when at Callie's age, Shauna was doing things Callie can't even imagine. She loves her, she resents her, she wants to shield her, she's frustrated that Callie doesn't understand....it's all so mixed up!
-Jackie being the only girl to enter the water but not take off ANY clothes at first. Everyone else is so euphoric and she's just....paddling in her sweater. Mari's still wearing shorts, sure, but Jackie takes off nothing.
Taissa doing Akila's hair. It's so cute. Also Akila's snark about how Misty would be losing a limb if she squirted water at Akila's hair. Misty very much gives off the vibe of someone who would want to touch other peoples hair even when it's totally not appropriate.
Mari sitting with Jackie at the beach and planning out how they're going to be BFFs and move their lockers together when they get rescued and go back to school! And Shauna watching, all jealously, from the water, and Jackie looking just so utterly zoned out and not listening until she suddenly acts super into it in order to make Shauna jealous. Super interesting, to see the shift in dynamic- from Jackie being the sought-after girl to the outcast that they'll be eating soon, and also so tragic- that here they all are, splashing and playing and eyeing up Travis and doing the bitchy teen-girl-friendship-politics thing. And so soon they're going to be....well, not all normal and happy.
Also, Shauna watching Jackie and Mari is great because it's such a contrast- Mari is talking to Jackie and Jackie's just spacing, whereas you know that Jackie is just hanging on Shauna's every word whenever she talks (no matter the state of their relationship, Jackie's never not interested in what Shauna is saying/doing/thinking)
I also love how what Mari's saying...doesn't actually make sense? 'We found the lake, so let's move our lockers together when we go back to school!' Like, ok?
Jackie storming out of the cabin to cry on her own is esp sad when you know what's to come. Her being on the outside starts so much earlier than I remembered, right down to her being the only one lugging a wheely suitcase while they're hiking. Like Jackie, you are just not made for this world :(
Travis' line 'You can't even tell what her favourite book is-' is so sad because he sort of says it so tentatively, like he's trying to connect, to make a joke, and I feel like if one of the others made it, the girls would have laughed but they just snark at him and you can see how he sort of closes up, tenses up, stalks out because he's on the outside: his dad is dead, he's got his brother to feel responsible for, he's not an adult like Coach but he's not one of the girls....he's just on the outside.
Shauna going outside to comfort Jackie is so interesting in the dynamics vs what they look like at first glance- like, on the one hand, you have Jackie pulling herself out of her funk to comfort Shauna, on the other, you have Shauna purposefully displaying vulnerability in order to give Jackie her role back. I mean, I don't think Shauna is lying when she says she's scared but also I definitely think that she's not telling Jackie that so that Jackie can comfort her for her own sake: she's telling Jackie that so that Jackie can feel needed and useful again. There's that little half smile the actress does as Jackie hugs her that looks so very 'Ok, good, Jackie's ok now, it worked'
When Ben hits Misty, it's like that's where she sees her opening: like him hitting her creates this extra level to their relationship (because a teacher would never hit a student so by him hitting her, it puts their relationship into a different level), and that's when she starts calling him Ben. It's also sad because I can totally imagine an AU where the crash doesn't happen but Misty ends up in a horrible abusive marriage because , lacking any positive intense relationships, she ends up with a negatively intense relationship as the next best thing.
