OKAY. let’s start talking about my girl.

Disclaimer: I looked through EVERY SINGLE RICHGIRLYN ASK but I will be IGNORING some of the statements said, because I believe as she has been developed some things about her have changed. Bear with me here.

Richgirlyn is a multifaceted character. To the public, she appears a cheery, funny, overall girly, sometimes “airhead” appearance, only if you’re unfamiliar with her raps.

to the le sserafim members, (excluding Kazuha), shes someone who didn’t work as hard or sacrifice much to join, getting everywhere without struggle due to her father’s influence.

To richgirlyn- who is she?

We’ll start with what we know from her family life: Richgirlyn was born the youngest of three, the other 2 being two boys. Her mother focuses on her brothers, so richgirlyn clings to her father. We can tell that her mother and richgirlyn do not have that close of a relationship, her mother didn’t really guide her, doing maybe a bit more than the minimum. Fathers like richgirlyn’s, men of old money and power, of influence, of doing the most they can for their capital, everything is secondary— do not know how to raise girls. 

Richgirlyn was raised like a boy. She was told, do not cry, do not show vulnerability, don’t let anyone know you’re anything less than the strongest person in the room. Richgirlyn bottles up her emotions, represses them, and she wants so bad to be vulnerable (proven by her Instagram posts) but that direction of invulnerability pushed and instilled in her from birth doesn’t allow her to. She wants, in some form, comfort, to be allowed to break down and not feel weak, or pathetic. But she can’t. Her upbringing has ruined her. She can not admit to weakness. I don’t think she’s even allowed herself to really feel anything for the last few years since joining le sserafim— how could she? She can’t be weak, she can’t be vulnerable, she can’t be pathetic. She had to be strong, the paragon of the family, the perfect, unforgivable daughter.

But this brings up something very intrinsic to her character— self worth.

People with a normal, completely fine self worth do not think less of themselves for crying. They don’t call themselves weak and pathetic for these things. Richgirlyn already, in some form, believes she is a little weak, a little pathetic, a little less. She rationalizes the things that other people do to her, and pins it on herself. This is because, as much as a high and mighty, witty, unaffected front she puts up, richgirlyn probably doesn’t have some huge, self obsessed narcissism about her. Even if she was raised in way where she was told since she was rich, she was better, she probably doesn’t it believe it as much as she pretends to. If she did, she’d be mad people were treating her like this, more like “how could they treat me  like this? I deserve so much better!” She wouldn’t be blaming herself for it, saying “I’m an intruder, I wasn’t supposed to be apart of their family, I came in and probably ruined everything for them, if anything they can mean as they want, hybe can be frustrating and I guess I’m the best person to take that frustration out on and that’s okay,” someone with a normal, or higher than normal self worth does not react like this. She is putting herself down to rationalize it, saying ‘maybe it’s my fault’. Why would she act like this?

It’s clear she holds a little resentment to her father, or should. He switched her in the lineup, no matter how much she argued. He put her in a different company. He forced her out of Aespa.

Richgirlyn is very careful about what she does, to protect her and her families image. It’s been taught to her from birth, most likely— family comes first, you have to protect our reputation, keep up appearances, you can not step out of line, or hurt the family name— it’s why she won’t leave hybe, won’t kick out group members, won’t cause a stir— for the family name. And let’s not even get into how liking WOMEN would affect the family name, we all know how south korea feels about the gays..

Richgirlyn’s mom wasn’t close with her, she wasn’t given a very affectionate or loving mother. She watched that go to her brothers— her brothers her mother and father (probably) just adore so much. She’s the girl of the family, in this society? Probably viewed as a little less.

She has so much pressure to be perfect. From her family, from herself, and her members— can you imagine she has a bad day? Is a little more rude? They’d call her spoiled, childish, immature. She’s not even allowed to be upset, or leave early— they get mad at that too.

Richgirlyn holds herself to the highest standard, but I know she holds resentment towards her family. Entirely.

It’s been hinted her dad, while a loved businessman, isn’t all good. He’s not the perfect, good man he pretends to be.

Her mother focused on her brothers, and I just KNOW that affected her brain chemistry. I know she wants to prove herself so bad— saying, “im good too, mom, why can’t you love me the same, why can’t you focus on me the same? What do they have that I dont?” Part of this, is probably the reason she tries so hard to be strong, perfect, good. She’s had to work twice as hard for recognition, prove herself from her brothers. She wants her mothers attention, even subconsciously. Why else would she seek out tiffany, use her for guidance? Richgirlyn is searching for a mother figure, even if she pretends she’s not. 

And her brothers? Haven’t really been mentioned, but I can’t imagine seeing a parent (or both) focus on your siblings instead of you. There will always be a little bit of resentment there, a bit of bitterness. Always.

Richgirlyn is chasing this unattainable goal, of being perfect. Her front is carefully crafted. Her personality, normally, is witty and funny, yes, but it’s also a defense mechanism. Whenever someone says something hurtful, she can’t react and let them know it hurt. That would be admitting a weakness, that she could feel hurt and pain and sadness, and she can’t admit to that. Not genuinely. Having a few carefully made jokes about closet and room size, that’s perfect, makes her seem more shallow, a little spoiled, yes, but no one catches on that, well, it probably isn’t as big of a deal as she’s making it seem to be. She’s diverting attention. Each cruel comment is replied with a joke, pretending she doesn’t get it— she does, and it hurts, but they can’t know— and it’s all to make her safe, to make sure no one knows how to hurt her.

richgirlyn is a headstrong, determined, amazing artist, and she’s so much more than what she’s made out to be— but she also, deep down, is vulnerable, she is weak, she is a human being with human emotions that she’s repressed for so long, I think, when she finally feels them, it’ll be detrimental. She won’t know how to handle it. She wants to be seen as more than just a rich airhead, just a pretty face, but that’s all people will ever see her as (for now). And she hates it. But what left does she have to do but play into it? No matter how much evidence there is against that, no matter how hard she tries— people will always see her as just a stupid, shallow, pretty rich girl.

richgirlyn is my baby and I love her so much sorry for the word vomit this is a horrible analysis filled with more speculation than definitive answers but this is only the first one. SPEAKING of noxus-- ambessa just looks so fucking powerful and cool in all her outfits. the hair disc crown she wears is SO cool, the weights on the end of her braids when she's in combat so that her braids act as little weapons too?!?!!? just incredible character design she's so intimidating and badass and her SWORD IS SO COOL

The third and final of three D2 acrylic charm designs! I will be making these semi-transparent 2.5-inch charms and limited stock since I’m not sure if there’s anyone else interested in these as well.

My current impressions of the siblings below! Of all the D2 characters, I have the most brain rot for them…

Mara Sov

Since I was a fan of Seth Dickinson’s writing, I had done some preliminary research on what he wrote for Destiny lore. One of those things is the creation of Mara Sov and much of her lore. I also saw a Tumblr post showing a lot of people did not like her and that she was a controversial character in the game. This interested me more to play it and make a judgment for myself. I didn’t get to see who Mara Sov was until the Parasite exotic quest and even then was kinda confused as to who she was and her significance. I really like the dialogue during that quest since it was one of the first few instances during the early parts of my D2 journey that showed any hint of vulnerability from a character. Reading the Parasite lore page about Mara feeling gratitude at witnessing the vision of herself becoming the Witness’s disciple intrigued me even more!! Anyways, I say all of this to say that I ended up really liking Mara Sov. Marasenna, The Awoken of the Reef, and The Dreaming City were my first lore books I ever finished reading. I love how terrible she is, 10% of the time when she is viscerally vulnerable, and how complex she is. I am also obsessed with how her character relates to others such as: ofc Uldren/Crow, whatever freaky little friendship she got going on with Eris Morn, the parallels between her, Savathun, and Ikora as people who revolve their life around secrets, Petra and Sjur as her girlfriends wraths, and parallels to Caitl as rulers who rule very differently 9soon we see them interact in season of seraph...? bungo pls).

She has done so many morally reprehensible things. I can see why people don’t like her and can’t imagine her being likable, but unfortunately, I tend to really like terrible fictional characters. I have friends who are some of the kindest people I know and are extremely driven by selfish means. They were the ones who taught me that being selfish isn’t inherently bad and a person can be judged much more holistically. I’m not saying my friends are nearly in the same ballpark of being an egotistical, cold, and manipulative queen like Mara Sov, but that mix of good intentions in coexistence or clashing with selfish goals is familiar to me and I enjoy the moral struggle. That is a lot more interesting to me than being another NPC that just spouts quest objectives. Also to my more shallow tastes, I love a woman who would coldly step on me tyvm. Mara often fails and I would like to see her fail more, suffer the consequences of those failures, and succeed maybe like 50% of the time LOL I like women who are dominant but also fall from their dominance. I am very much a supporter of women’s rights and women’s wrongs LMAOOOOO (Note: I mean this last sentence for only fictional characters in case anyone decides to take this in bad faith. IRL war criminals are war criminals that deserve bad deaths regardless of gender.)

Uldren Sov/Crow

I vaguely was aware of Uldren simply because of his relationship with Mara for awhile. Then I met Crow and realized “oh huh he’s clearly got a lot more going on then just being Mara’s brother”. Then I read Marasenna and realized his dynamic with Mara was a lot more complicated than I realized. I love complicated sibling relationships!! I thought it sucked that much of Uldren’s narrative arc happened in Forsaken which is now in the content vault and I can’t experience it for myself :^(((((. I recently finished reading The Forsaken Prince and thaaaat was really good wow. I wish we can see Jolyon in game considering he was an important person in Uldren’s life. Maybe it’ll happen whenever Crow decides to confidently approach the people that were important to his past life head-on. I really did enjoy the story when catching up on Season of the Risen and Haunted. During the Sever missions, I constantly kept going “omg Crow you’re going to let the little voice in your head keep saying things like that? Oooowww…” Like Uldren was mean afffff 😭 I understand the Crow fatigue for vet fans, but I just came in like a couple months ago so I am all ready to go to see what else the narrative team has in store for my guy. I am looking forward to his growth as his own person with a renewed sense of purpose. I didn’t realize Glint was important to Crow until revisiting dialogue during Season of the Lost and reading more of his lore so I didn’t include him in the drawing. If I ever make more of these charms, I’ll draw Glint in and maybe Petra (after studying up on her lore).

I am extremely mentally ill over the Sov siblings. By extension, I will soon be mentally ill over everything Awoken-related (I need to get on Petra Venj stuff holy moly), but I need to read more of their lore stuff first.

God, I loved the new chapter so much. Bailey the Bunny reigns supreme and if Lloyd dares break her bouncy little bunny pen I'll break him in turn.

When Court helped Bee with holding the club correctly and Lloyd was growling while Nick cackled I was having the time of my life. Especially because Bee's thought was that she didn't get the joke. If I were her in that situation I wouldn't either, but as an onlooker of sorts it's so clear...

She was so frigging precious when she got that hole in one and started bouncing around. I love her with all my heart!

Meanwhile Lloyd got a look at her smiley panties, hence his less than enthusiastic response. Because on the one hand he was drooling at what he saw, but then there's the disappointment of her - to me - amazing choice of underwear. I can just hear him think "Are you fucking serious, Bumblebee. God fucking shit hell!"

Also, I gotta say this. Bee is the first Reader character that I can actually deeply relate to. Not only is she plus size, but she's most definitely neurodivergent. I got ADHD and lemme tell you, she exhibits so many symptoms of it. Getting distracted and buying the bunny pen, being impatient over having to watch other people do stuff you're not interested or involved in, fidgeting, wandering thoughts, overthinking, being worried over how her behavior only seems to annoy Lloyd and hence trying to suppress aka mask her ADHD behavior...

Like, girl. She's such a mood. And people might think she's an airhead or stupid, but neurodivergent people often take longer to understand things, catch social cues (like Lloyd's constant innuendos) speak up or process what's being said (auditory processing disorder is a big ADHD thing). Bee is my gal and I wanna hug her so bad. She's too pure and nice for asshat Lloyd.

i started shipping in 2017 after watching season two! i didn't, like... actively ship-ship anything, but i did think they were super cute. i clocked how special and distinct their relationship was from their other connections with the party, especially and specifically in mike's case, and i thought there was something there. not exactly, like... explicitly romantic just yet, but "something" as in there's potential between these two characters for something big. mike was Exhibiting Behaviors in my eyes, but i felt like he wasn't mature enough yet to realize exactly what makes their relationship so special to him. additionally, i knew will was gay, but i didn't think that he had feelings for mike yet lmao (edit: i saw him as in the beginning stages of a crush / not yet at mike’s level). if you've been following me for some time then you already know this, but you can imagine the fucking whiplash i got once season three came out lmaooooo. twas brutal.

hm... this is tough. i really like the rain fight, because that and the shed scene are the true basis for byler i think. shed scene because mike confirms his relationship with will is the best thing he's ever done and the memories he tells will show that he views him as a hero that has saved them all. rain fight because i felt that was when will "realized" his feelings were unrequited and that's why he's pulled away from mike so much, and mike realized how badly he'd fucked up and it makes him go back (as much as he can) to how he was with will before and made him realize that their friendship was just as important to will, too. mike learns that will doesn't want to lose him in s3 and will learns that mike doesn't want to lose him (again) in s4 either. it's validation earned in the most painful way lmao. i also like the rink-o-mania fight, because it fascinates me how:

mike felt that will not talking to him sabotaged his day, even though his girlfriend literally just got harassed by everyone in the rink. and he's hurt because he feels like if will had just picked up the phone and talked to him then this never would've happened. bc will always tells him things! will never lies to him! and he's been trying to be better after the rain fight but in his eyes at that point it was like will gave up and now everything is shit because they're not talking anymore.

mike didn't back down from, hesitate, or flinch at the romantic connotation of will's "and us?" after he says el is his girlfriend. repeating "we're friends! we're friends." with such emphasis is so telling, too. who are you trying to convince? why did your mind go there? why are you not... idk, taken aback at all whatsoever? (and is that why you couldn't hug him and have been watching him the whole time?) these are perfectly normal and straight things to do with your boy bestie who you know doesn't like girls, who you can't touch anymore without your breath catching, and who you've been calling nonstop for six months in 80s small town indiana despite him never reaching out first. very normal, heterosexual, and platonic behavior especially when paired with the fact that you haven't ever told your girlfriend that you love her lol not even in ur letters or with valentines day cards.

mike wrote a "book of letters" to el and he says they're romantic and thus not for friends, but he only ever signed them with "from, mike" which led el to believe he doesn't love her romantically anymore. so he goes from not being able to be romantic with el anymore to then having romantically charged conversations and tension with will that entire season.. lol.

mike tells will "that's just not true" when will says he doesn't care about anything he has to say and doesn't reveal that he tried calling him all the time and even complained to dustin about the busy tone. why? why not tell him? and why not send him a letter if he never picked up? is it because then he'd find that he can say "love, mike" in his letters to will but not el's?

and i thought it was interesting how in the car he looks at will but not el, his girlfriend who again just got harassed in front of everyone and needs support lol.... and then he makes a passive aggressive comment about what she did at dinner. like, ok, mike. way to make ur feelings super clear today.

like... yeah, their tender scenes are great, but their fight scenes (and how they make up after them) are so revealing it's insane. it's also very easy to show your love when all is well, but it's so hard to show it and more impactful to witness as a viewer when it comes out in fight scenes even when they're both upset, withholding things, and hurt. mike is only ever vulnerable with will, even and perhaps especially when they fight. he does not do this with anyone else, including his own girlfriend. he treats will better every single time in every single fucking scenario lmao. so they definitely take the cake for me, because the proof is in the pudding and all that. rain fight + rink-o-mania fight solo every other byler scene 100% in my eyes.

my favorite part of byler tumblr is thankfully having found people who are very kind, funny, and intelligent and who share that with us all on these e-streets. it's always a treat to read different analyses and i love people who point out things that have been hidden in plain sight. i also LOVE the memes n shit posts! my dash consistently makes me laugh multiple times a day lol. and it's really cool to see people who are just as passionate as i can be hehe. :^)

UGH I wish he had a greater arc surrounding capricorn…like even if we saw a few hints that his loyalty was starting to show cracks…idk what his arc is in inkspell so maybe I’ll sit tight for that)
