How long do you typically spend on a drawing? Of the ones you've posted, which took the longest? Which was the quickest?

Well, that kind of depends.

If you mean like, out of everything I've posted, this IMBI animatic definitely took the longest (about 3 months), and one of these sketches would be the shortest (like, maybe 5-15 minutes). That's a pretty big range!

But if you mean like, typical finished drawings (not counting sketches, or videos/gifs)... I'd say on average, I probably spend maybe 3 hours or so on them?

Shortest would probably be screenshot redraws -- like this one (one of the first things I drew for Rise, and I think it shows) or this one (teeechnically a GIF, but it's just some sparkles in the background), which I'd estimate took maybe 30 minutes each?

Longest would be anything with a lot of characters, or detailed backgrounds. I remember this Rise August piece took me a long time, and I worked on it over the course of a few days. Procreate tells me 11 hours total, but I believe that counts idle time and I tend to take a lot of breaks.

Some *very* old characters. I usually redraw most of them every once in a while to see how they change over the years. Ameli in particular is sort of my benchmark girl, since she’s one of my favorites to draw (you might have seen her a bunch of times on this blog already).

The first four characters make up the main members of the Lunar Corps, an elite squad of operatives with experimental powers that work under Angelus Tech. Lynette is the leader, and Ethan is the newest member--which you can tell by the fact that he's still concerned about Angelus dress code. I’ll have more about each of the members in their own posts some other time, so this won’t be an even bigger wall of text than it already is.

The next two characters, one of whom I posted before, are teeechnically affiliates of the Lunar Corps. Marley is the main scientist they consult to see how their bodies take to the superpowers and augmentations. Garland is an unofficial member of the Lunar Corps, and is actually Marley’s husband. He was one of the first to go through Angelus Tech’s Rebirth Program for superhuman augmentation, but the procedure went wrong and most of the prototype subjects died. Garland survived, but he was still left horrifically mutated. However, despite being more feral and monstrous, his size and strength make him a destructive force that’s very useful with the right supervision, so sometimes Marley has him accompany the Lunar Corps if an operation requires a special amount of brute force.

4. Do you have a DeviantArt, personal website, or art blog?

Teeechnically I have a DA?  But it’s been YEARS since I last updated it and I have no intentions of moving back.  Otherwise, all my art gets posted here, on my Plurk, or less frequently, on my Twitter.

7. How often do you use references?

Whenever I need to...?   Honestly I’d say, roughly 6 out of every 10 drawings will have a reference, whether it’s a pose, expression, or panel/cap redraw.

....Which I need to do more of.

9. How much time do you spend drawing on an average day?

Roughly an hour.  I tend to do “one and done” unless I go in with a specific SKETCH JAM kinda feeling.
