first of I really appreciate that you were transparent in the tags of condominium about how some ships may not appear a lot and you chose to not tag them because of it!!! a lot of smaller ship tags tend to get overrun with fics that barely feature them which is very frustrating for those looking for fics featuring them 🫶

anyway, I was wondering, there are a handful of ships I would say that are kinda semi set up for more as it stands (specifically thinking of zhottas, pierresteban, haasbands)? 👀do you have any plans for any of them? no pressure if not and also understand if you don't want to spoil anything or just not give anything away!! but if you do have thoughts on them you want to share I would love to hear them!!!!! everyone is here to see the main ships obviously so dont feel pressured about adding you dont want either :))

(and also dont feel like you have to answer the ask at all if you just dont care about the side ships or something or feel uncomfortable and have nothing planned for them. just if you want I'd love to hear it!! okay thats all before I ramble too close to the sun haha)

wowowow thank you! I’m also going to ramble a bit on this one honestly because it is something that I have thought about a lot and gone back and forth on a little bit!!! this got really long so under the cut it goes

firstly, as someone that will ship anyone and anything, I would hate to clog up a relationship tag for a rarer pairing when they only feature in a couple of offhand sentences or something. I was going crazy trying to find haasband fics where they weren’t the most minor side pairing and it was driving me insane! so I’m trying to avoid that! I hadn’t originally tagged strollonso for this reason, but I love them too much to not keep including them and I feel like they’re featured enough (and will be featured enough in the future) to justify tagging them.

in terms of other pairings, I might slap a yukierre heads up in just the general tags, as they are currently happily dating but won’t feature too much just because I don’t feel like I can do their dynamic justice as much… pierresteban will stay as neighbours with unnecessary beef because I just think that’s funny (as much as I do love pierresteban as a pairing)

I have also thought about other ships, but either these are not super set in stone, or I have plans but I don’t want to reveal them just yet (there is Something going on with haasbands… but I won’t say exactly what that is yet!). Zhottas is one that sort of exists as a nebulous possibility that I’m kind of just seeing where it goes. (but also I think it could be fun if they’re just unconventional besties… they go shopping together and get high tea after type of thing… Valtteri has one of those cat back packs that he takes Sweet Corn on adventures in… etc etc)

i am very much writing this as I go because this genuinely started as just a silly little thing to write for fun and I still can’t really believe how many people are on board with it… eternally grateful <3 I have been sticking to the drivers and dynamics that I’m the most familiar with, and as much as I would love to give absolutely everyone their own unique in depth plot line, I do think that would get slightly overwhelming to read! gotta have some more background characters just to balance it out

that post about middle child zuko did so many miracles for my lu ten characterization dude…..its like ? things were already awful in the royal family, obviously. like with all the other shit aside for a moment- they just suck as a family, period. and obviously things took a sharp turn for even WORSE the Moment lu ten died. ursa leaving after killing azulon, ozai pouncing on the throne and getting impossibly worse on the kids, iroh not coming back for ages and then finally returning just for him to be in a state of apathy, the crown prince title- that shouldve been lu tens to handle, he was an adult- and what it entails falling onto zuko. who was obviously not built for that. its as if lu ten presence in the family acted as a dam for loads of bullshit on all sides. thats why i just dont vibe with the “lu ten is the only well adjusted fn royal family member” hc that i see in fics.

eldest siblings- esp ones with a big age gap between them and their siblings- might come off as well adjusted, maybe (esp when youre also a prince who has to master the art of court face and keep the refined charismatic persona up. every member of your family counts on you, individually, all for different reasons, to keep it up. the consequences of Not keeping it up are disastrous. incomprehensible.). but just look longer than like, 30 seconds, and you will see The Horrors lurking. they have to keep it together for the sake of the little ones and the inevitable explosive fallout that would definitely occur in the family if they dont keep it together.

you always have to make sure youre right around the corner. you manage your siblings, you manage the adults that cant seem to do anything right by themselves (but you have to keep it lowkey with the adults because god FORBID they get it in their heads that you might think that theyre incompetent). you try to remember how to manage yourself, because becoming family oriented that severely will make self care of any kind impossible without you even realizing it. you almost wish someone would offer help or a solution, but anytime someone else does the job for you they do it wrong, and just move along and let me do it- and there comes the isolation and self sabotaging.

then you turn your back for one second and everything implodes in on itself. and in lu tens case “turning your back” means literal death, as we all know. so the inevitable explosive fallout happens, and theres never gonna be any him coming home to fix it for the children AND the incompetent adults in the way that he always does, always has to.

I feel like everytime the batkids are together in the comics and Bruce tells them to not do something, just after he left, Dick turns to his siblings to be like "So, what we do here is never listen to B. Today on the list of "good stuff that happened": I got to tell my brother about how Percy Jackson in the Son of Neptune is absolutely insane and spends basically the whole book just making the Romans go "?!"

Highlights include exploded water cannons during war games, showing up carrying a goddes and tearing apart furies with a whirlpool, mouthing off to Mars, third-wheeling/babysitting the precious young smoll inexperienced beans that are Frazel, willingly drinking Maybe Poison, and generally breaking a lot of things by Fighting Like a Greek. Continued to explain that the best part about the multiple perspectives in these books is this:

Percy: I'm a loser, lol! I have no idea what I'm doing, also everyone is cooler than me and I'd die for them! Also Annabeth is cute when she's threatening people with a knife.

Annabeth: *while planning 6 steps ahead* Percy is an idiot. Dear gods I love him so much. Such a wonderful idiot.

Literally everyone else: Percy is (one of) the most powerful demigod(s) I've ever heard of, and he gives no shits about any rules anymore. This man is scary and dangerous and I am so glad he's on my side. Annabeth is a terrifying force to behold and I can't keep up with her. I am unsure if them being so in love with each other makes it better or worse. If they ever turn evil, we are so fucked.
