Why is Twig called Twig?

I tried to explain this meme once before, I hope I can do it now! It all comes from this meme about salary. My friends and I often remember it and use it usually to complain about the small salary, saying we get a twig instead. You know, like the meme.

One day when I showed my friend my old drawing with Khira and Gunnar, the picture reminded her of this very meme. And she started calling Khira a ‘’twig‘’.

Often when I showed her other drawings of her, she always called her that. And I liked it so much, and it made me laugh, that I decided to use it as her real nickname. Now her nickname is Twig!
