now, let's take a short detour because i feel like dropping some recs. here's two poets whose work i really enjoy: chen chen and jasmine ledesma (who i think is on tumblr, too? @/candiedspit if i'm not wrong). i'd specifically like to recommend (and hopefully hear you opinion on) chen chen's i'm not a religious person but & jasmine ledesma's short stories no candy, sorry and FIEND.

Sorry on the delayed reply on my side too. I've been sorta busy with a lot of stuff, but I had to drop in a message.

First of all, the poem? Iconic. It is so well written!!! Ahh! The way you use the numbers to count down all the things in a list sort of a format . And the splendid use of a clock ticking to signify the time coming closer and closer. It reminds of the Doomsday Clock which always reminds us that we are two minutes to complete destruction and in a way it is an inevitable destruction. "I'm one drink away from holiness and I'm not stopping" is such a vivid Ginsberg line that ahhh, it hits with the concept of the Beat Generation being these drunk, high poets who ultimately want to experience divinity through their intoxication and writing. And the ending with, "it's almost Valentine's- please tell your wretched heart I'm sorry." AGHH, the way the narrator tries to stop the inevitability of the sadness of romance?? Or being stuck in a relationship and trying to do better? The interpretations are left wide open and I love that.

And I wanted to give you some advice on slam poetry performances, I have a bit of an experience with them. The surgical metaphor is indeed apt, there is some vulnerable to stand in front of a group of people to carve out yourself into words and see it take on a meaning for everyone differently. But, revel in that vulnerable state and see how that conveys meaning. Focus on a spot in the room and speak to it and let meaning take its own hold. And remember, even if you don't get the reception you are hoping for, hold onto the meaning that you initially wrote it with. How your poetry affects you in the end is what matters. And good luck! Especially in the bit where he goes I wish you'd stop reminding about the debt because you can do nothing about it and even if you love me, it is not the way I want.; Please let me go, I cannot let you be in my debt anymore.]

Jericho Brown? Iconic. The cyclical nature of the form as well as it is sort of the same line all the while not being the same line is such a beautiful way to express the repetition, but all how each cycle in a way is different than the last one.

I loved Chen Chen's poem. The way God chooses to escape from his own reality through someone who does not believe enough in him to question him at first it beautiful. And what hits me is how God stops and creates a barrier again by sending the angel as soon as he is questioned in adjacent to his role in the universe. What interests me is how the atheist (I know it does not mention atheism directly, but close enough) is sent an angel and later meet with God, and therefore, the relation that they form is a meaningful bond between two individuals rather than being a power dynamic with the worshipped and the devotee.

There's something about Ledesma's stories about hopelessness in her both protagonists. In the same way, both are extremely tired of their circumstances and want to be somewhere else in perhaps a better versions of their selves. The scattered prose certainly draws it very strongly together.

Imagine his surprise when, after usurping the identity and appearance of Harrison Wells, living his life as director of S.T.A.R. Labs and working on  the creation of a particle accelerator to ensure the conversion of Barry Allen in Flash, young (y/n) Allen came to S.T.A.R Labs, to work for him.

You wandered for a few minutes when you found Harrison in a room you weren’t aware of. You saw him get up of his chair and push a fake wall button to reveal the Reverse Flash suit.

Your eyes clouded with tears, as you tried to muffle your sobs in your hand, your heart broke in a million pieces. Before we felt your presence, you fled to the bathroom.

But after doing it he bought Eobard back again, who the first thing we did was whisk you away and running away with you. He tried to explain but you didn’t let him, punching him while crying your eyes out. When he was able to grasp your hands he pushed you to him, making you trip and kiss him. Every breath you take he whispered how sorry he was and that we loved you. Your sobbing only got worse.

The Flash came running only to see his nemesis kissing his sister (y/n), angry like no other he ran at full speed and tackled Eobard punching him again and again. You calmed him with tears still falling from your eyes and the two of you bought Eobard back to the Labs as a prisoner, putting him in a metahuman cell, meanwhile he was took away his eyes never left yours.

“He says I shouldn’t have tampered the timeline, that we created a “Flashpoint”, and that we will forget all about the last timeline.”

“Barr, what are you talking about? Timelines?” You said.

“Don’t you remember? The timeline where he killed mom and dad was imprisoned.”

“Barry, what the hell are you talking about? Mom is fine, she is home with dad. Are you sure you didn’t drink anything weird?”

After that he took off, running towards Eobard’s cell while you looked at him weirdly.

After having to see, everything happen once again, Eobard taunted Barry that the timeline wouldn’t be the same before running away.

Barry returned to his timeline, to see you in the Lab with Caitlin and Cisco. He smiled and hugged you making you giggle.

Meanwhile Eobard spied the two of you. He knew he didn’t deserve you, but he was pretty selfish and he didn’t want to let you go. After acquiring knowledge of an event in his future and sought to change it by travelling throughout time to collect relics, and form partnerships with various individuals to further his own goals. But never gave up on you.

More often than never, he would go back to when he was Harrison Wells and the two of you were together to once again impersonate Harrison and be able to kiss you and make love to you, continually saying how much he loved and cherished you, and that he never will stop loving you and that, please, please you never stop loving him.

Once again, returning to his own timeline with his new “team”, he bought a hand to his face and started crying silently.

“I love you, (y/n), please, don’t stop loving me.”

“In the end, I still love you, Eobard Thawne. Even though you don’t deserve it.”

He didn’t know if he was hallucinating, but he reached out for your reflection, his hand passing thought it as it was only an hallucination. When he opened his eyes again, he was alone once again. You had leaved him. He was a monster than didn’t deserve you. But he loved you, so so so much.

He broke down, sobbing miserably.

More season 4 rant and predictions for season 5

Ok ok sorry for talking so much but I need to say these out loud like aghh ok here we go

SPOILERS!!!!!

I honestly liked this season and while I understand why people are upset we all forget to look on the highlights of this season. It was not perfect but it was not trash as many people say in my opinion. Even though we didn't get Klance moments (and im saying these as a HARDCORE klance shipper) I respect the writers because I think they wanted give them and all the characters a break. Like season 3 had SOOOO MANY klance moments and honestly it felt like a dream and it had sooo many different team dynamics going on. We didn't get these this season but as I said in my earlier post I believe this season was a connection season. It was season 3 part 2 and when you think about it like that it immediately becomes a better season. Like in my opinion the two feels so connected and that what makes this season cool because it was more like a conclusion for s3. Anyways I liked it actually MATT FUCKING HOLT AND PIDGE LIKE AGHHH dont get me started on that my beautiful babies. Shiro being hmmm idk fake:/ and KEITH WTF like ok without Lance around he is seriously unstable like he was GONNA SACRIFICE HIMSELF HOLY SHIT. Aaand I realized that Hunk doesn't like being seen as a joke and a comedy material. AND OMMAGAWD CORAN WAS HIGH AS FUCK THAT ONE EPISODE LIKE AHSHSHSH THAT WAS THE FUNNIEST SHIT EVER!!!!!!!

Anyways here is the predictions: I think Shiro is manipulating the team ( because he aint Shiro wtf) and like we can see that in the beginning. Shiro came back so EASILY. And the black lion had to accept him because she had no other choice like everyone was in danger so she was like ahh ok... But that confused me like if Shiro** can now access to Black we can see some serious development in the following season regarding the operation Kuron. Like aghh ok... Aaand like Keith was left out of the team that was soooo sooo soo sad. It was Keith instead of Lance who had to step aside (and i believe he also had lance's insecurities in mind when he made that choice, also his own insecurities+ the fact that shiro can now use the black lion) but I believe he's going to be back to the team because well SHITS GONNA GO DOWN. Because think about that scene which was leaked out months ago where Shiro and Matt were fighting together and did we get that this season????? NO. So what situation can lead them to fights something without Voltron. Like why would they fight something alone I mean i don't think the team is around. But this Shiro is either a clone or... fuck that hes a CLONE! Anyways in the interviews one of the cast members said :" They're not at each other's throats....yet" or something like this. Sooo I think this Shiro is gonna cause some shit. It started with taking over the black lion and its gonna grow wider. Hes gonna make the team split and hopefully Keith and the other's will notice this. But I believe when the idea that Shiro is a clone is thrown out a lot of them are gonna take sides and similar to Galra they are gonna have an issue within their group. Another point that I noticed related to this issue WHY DID SHIRO SAY NO WE SHOULD LEARN WHAT THESE ARE WE CANT LEAVE. It was obviously a trap and they could have left before that shield thingy was activated and they should have left just like Lance our baby boi suggested!!!!! But he was like lets stay????? I think this is how they want to confuse us. Because Shiro is acting like the old Shiro we knew but NOT like him at the same time. These small things all point to a future where something big is coming. (AND BITCH WTF LOTOR WHAT YOU GONNA DO I DONT TRUST YOU HOW CAN YOU JOIN THEM LIKE AGHHH// my enemy's enemy is my friend.... for now 😂)
