I love the idea of Soap being the rookies’ favorite sergeant (Gaz is a close second, but Soap lets them get away with more shit) and they come up with “Soap’s Life Advice”

at any time, any of them can ask Soap for a piece of life advice and he has to come up with something on the spot. they usually ask him in the middle of PT, so he ends up yelling his little nuggets of wisdom at them through a megaphone or something similar, which is a recipe for all sorts of hilarity

the advice starts out pretty mundane, actually good pieces of wisdom, but he runs out of useful things pretty quickly, so it almost immediately devolves into Soap screaming the weirdest pieces of advice (“advice” here being used very loosely) at his rookies

Ghost didn’t know about it (he stays as far away from the rookies as possible, citing an anaphylactic allergy to stupidity) until he was helping out one day and heard one of the rookies yell “Soap, can I have a piece of life advice?”

And he watches in fascination as Soap’s face scrunches slightly, thinking hard, and then brings his megaphone up and promptly yells “if your drug dealer has all of their teeth, they’re the cops!”

Several rookies nearly fall over laughing, both from the “advice” and from Ghost’s baffled “what the fuck, Johnny?”

“What?” Soap shrugs. “Last week I told them the most effective way to reduce their time in service was daily drug use, I just wanna make sure they’re bein’ responsible about it.”

Neither of them are surprised when Soap ends up in Price’s office being berated within an inch of his life for encouraging drug use, but neither of them miss the way Price’s mustache twitches with a suppressed smile when he thinks they aren’t looking either
