So, recently I got an email telling me that I'm seeing a play in Chicago next week. Which was news to me.

I do occasionally forget when I've bought tickets to an event, but the play, per the email, is Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and I would have had to be in a fuckin' fugue state to buy those to start with.

It had a link where I could claim the tickets, so I kind of assumed it was either a phishing scheme or someone put my email address into the slot instead of theirs, like our email addresses were one letter off or something. There was a very slim chance someone bought it for me as a birthday gift but I didn't think I knew anyone who knew me well enough to blow that kind of money on me but didn't know me well enough to know my thoughts on JK Rowling.

In any case I forwarded it to customer service like "Hey, I didn't buy these tickets, is this a legit email from you guys? If so it went to the wrong address. Unless the name Sam [surname] is on the tickets, it's not for me."

Bout half an hour later they hit me back with an actual receipt. "Oh no, they're under [my legal name], see? These are a gift from an organization that buys tickets for military veterans and their families! Enjoy the show!"

....now, I'm not a veteran, and nobody in my family is either (well, my grandfathers, but they're long dead). Still, the tickets are undeniably in my name. So I had to hit them back like "So....I'm not a veteran..."

They're now very confused but handling it internally, so I don't have to stay involved now that I've convinced them I'm not Staff Sergeant Sam Starbuck or whatnot.

But I do find it very amusing that I am, for all intents and purposes, at the moment the possessor of STOLEN VALOR THEATRE TICKETS.

I've been absent, I know. Life. But look, one chirp ;) from the lovebirds and I'm back hehehe

With no preamble I'm going to sweep straight past the cute and charming interactions between Jimin & JK on Weverse - always together - and only glance at JK's song recommendations because right now I'm more interested in what came before.

This post by the fabulous @slaaverin, about JK and the song he posted 10 years ago - Memo by Years & Years - hit me so hard in the feels, I had to sit down. Even though I've mostly paid attention to their song recommendations (yes, I know I can do better) this one passed me by completely.

How could I not know that JK posted a song by Years & Years??!

And especially in 2015, when he was really going through it. He had feelings bigger than a house and nowhere to put them.

This for me is a key moment. Watch Gayo 4 and tell me JK wasn't dying of love.

He was - and still is - a boy with big feelings that he doesn't always have words for. His face and body language have told us that he's filled up to the brim but he seems to keep it inside unless he's made up his mind to say something.

Which of course makes the song recommendations in 2015 so significant. We know it wasn't only about the songs - it never is - it's all about how he's feeling at he time. And he picks out the lines so carefully, so precisely, so that they can speak for him.

And if you read the lyrics of all those songs from 2015 and focus on the lines he picked out, there's a clear message.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't looking at Eels cover of Elvis's Can't Help Falling In Love for musical inspiration. And picking out I'll give you my everything - a cheesy love song from the '70s - so he could say I have something to tell you? Neatly in between the 2015 Osaka fan-meet and the notorious RBT concert in Hong Kong?

He was in love. He was in lust. He was probably confused and afraid of the consequences, but he couldn't let it go. I know this has been thoroughly dissected so I won't go down that path.

What I am stuck on here, is Years & Years.

Where some of the lines he posted could be the result of searching for songs with particular words in the lyrics, like I have something to tell you, Memo doesn't hit the same way.

I want more (x4) isn't romantic or emotive like some song lines he chose and also it doesn't convey a specific message like others. Without hearing the rest of the song it feels a little brash but in the context of the rest of the lyrics, and with the gentle melody, it's honestly very soft.

He must have listened to a lot of Years & Years because Memo is a beautiful song but it isn't one of their hits. It vanished into obscurity pretty quickly.

Memo wasn't just an LGBT+ song. Years and Years was a very brazenly LGBT+ group.

Olly is a huge icon.

Gay, out, and unapologetic, Olly was singing pop songs about genuine personal feelings and experiences. The songs explored all the nuanced feelings of lust, yearning, hurt, and uncertainty that come with falling in love. They have authenticity. They're the same type of songs Troye was singing in 2016 but a little more... adult. A little further along the track towards resolution. Olly was living the life of a young gay man and his songs reflect that. The content is pretty direct.

Years & Years weren't huge like The Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, or The Communards, but they were successful and popular especially amongst the lgbt+ community. They did get radio play in the UK too. Outside of that I think the group was relatively niche.

And yet, JK found them.

That he found them, says to me the he was searching for something. Searching for ways to make sense of his feelings in an environment that would be stifling for a young queer boy who was in love with his best friend.

The songs might not have been #1 on Billboard, but what they WERE was authentic and unambiguous.

Maybe I'm making too much of it but it makes me wonder where he would have been without a group like Years and Years.

If he hadn't heard those words in those songs, and felt the connection with the feelings expressed, would he have had certainty that what he felt was honest and real?

If he hadn't listened to someone else articulate emotions he could relate to, would he have had the words to describe his feelings when he finally confessed?

If Years & Years, and particularly Olly Alexander, hadn't been as successful as they were in 2015, would he have had the determination to face up to the company?

Who knows... maybe none of it really mattered and it was just a line from a song that he liked. But knowing - as ARMY - how much music can change your perception and your life, I don't think that's true. I think it meant something.

I'm so glad he found them.

Being married to the love of her life was the best thing in the world, sure, and there was nothing Y/n would change.

Except his profession, of course.

It was not that Y/n wanted Rhysand to stop acting. She was proud of his talent. But watching everyone say how good he looked with his fellow actresses got on Y/n’s nerves sometimes.

Not always, but on her bad days, she wished she could keep her husband away.

The day had started off pretty normal. She had woken up, walked downstairs to find her husband eating dinner by himself. It was unusual but nothing out of the ordinary. Rhysand usually refused to eat unless she was eating with him, but on days he had an early interview or a long day scheduled, he was forced to.

She had seen him off, then set to cleaning up and showering. She hadn’t wanted to get dressed up as she wanted to be comfortable, so she pulled on her husband’s loose t-shirt and some grey sweatpants. She had spent the day doing mostly nothing, reading and scrolling on apps.

It was during her scrolling session that she came across a short video edit of her husband and his newest co-worker and also the one most shipped with him, Clair Smith.

Their recent movie had skyrocketed in fame after the insane chemistry between the two, and while Y/n rarely ever got jealous of actresses her husband worked with, the tension between them made even her wonder if there was something going on.

She never doubted his love, of course, but the way Clair looked at him made her blood boil.

After watching the edit for a minute, she sighed and exited the app, deciding to watch some long videos to calm down. Settling more comfortably on the plush couch, Y/n looked to her side and reached out to grab the soft grey velvet throw lying on the back of the couch, draping it around herself before leaning back into the armrest.

She scrolled for a moment, trying to find a video to keep her entertained until her husband returned. It was mostly book reviews, food recipes, podcasts and interviews her husband did. That was all that filled her feed usually.

But then a video caught her eye.

It was an interview Rhysand had talked about weeks ago, the lie detector test with him and his love interest in the movie.

Y/n stared at it for a moment, knowing she should scroll away and watch something that would shift her mind away from everyone who thought Clair was better suited to be with her husband. She told herself she could always watch it tomorrow, when her mind was more at peace. When she wasn’t feeling down.

But she also wanted to watch it, and she wanted to watch it now.

Whatever.

She clicked on the video, pulling the throw tighter around herself. The sun was beginning to go down, casting long fingers of gold and orange clawing at the walls. Almost like her own conscious screaming at her to not watch the video.

Rhys wore the red shirt Y/n always insisted he looked the best in. She could remember the morning he had gone for this particular interview. He had snuggled closer to her in bed, groaning and whining like a baby about how he didn’t want to go, that he was too comfortable and wanted to sleep more.

She had poked his side, then kissed his nose and told him he needed to wake up, or his manager would kill him.

As the video began, only two chairs were in the frame. They were set too close together for Y/n’s comfort, but she watched on as Clair walked in and Rhys followed. Clair settled down, smiling at the interviewer, but Rhys grabbed the arms of the chair and moved it a bit away from Clair’s. She looked up at Rhys, lips parted midway through her sentence, then she turned away again, any and all confusion wiped from her face. Rhys only sat down once there was enough space between the two, then turned to the interviewer too.

Y/n felt her lips quirking at the corners at the gesture alone as the interview progressed. It all went well, with questions about working on set and the movie’s plot, the hardships and characters. But then the interviewer decided to question them on their personal lives.

"So, what are your plans for the future with Clair? Fans- and even me- are very interested to see how you two progress." The woman laughed, smirking lightly as Clair giggled and looked towards Rhysand.

Y/n paused the video, feeling her blood boil in her veins, and exited the video, pausing to read some comments, as one would do. Most of them were about Rhys and his co-star’s chemistry, how they went so well together and fans wishing they were together. But quite a few also added timestamps of the question Y/n had stopped at, writing in all caps and bold letters about how Rhys looked so in love when talking about ‘her’, that Y/n assumed it was Clair.

It irked her more than it should have. But maybe it was just a bad day.

She was used to these things, but no one went so far as to wish Rhys was together with his co-stars.

"Honey! I’m home."

Y/n jumped, realising the living room was completely dark, the sun having gone down. She cursed under her breath as she hurried to stand, pausing for a moment to let her legs get accustomed to the sudden movement before walking out to greet her husband.

"Hey." She mumbled, tugging the throw tighter around her as she watched him bend down to unlace his shoes.

He smiled at her, lifting his head. "How was your day, darling?"

Y/n shrugged. "Good, I guess. What about you?"

He sighed, groaning as he straightened. "It was good, but I am so tired. I had three interviews today."

Y/n tried to smile, her mind still stuck on the way Clair had stared at him. He didn’t seem to notice the grimace on her face as he went into the kitchen, turning on the lights as he went.

"Oh?" She mumbled.

He nodded. "They kept talking. Then there were technical difficulties at the second interview, so we were running late for the third one."

Y/n hummed along, hearing but not listening. But she had lost all capacity to hear anything except the same words repeated in her ear spoken by the interviewer.

What are your plans with Clair?

Y/n blinked when she felt a touch on her arm, watching as Rhys’s fingers cleared into her view.

"Darling? You okay?"

Y/n inhaled, lifting her chin and meeting his eyes. "Yeah, of course. What were you saying?"

He looked unconvinced, and Y/n cursed herself. Even she herself heard the uncertainty in her voice.

But for her benefit, he kept speaking. "Did you watch the interview that came out this morning?"

His voice had a note of excitement in it, like a child who couldn’t control his urge to show off his new favourite toy.

It annoyed Y/n.

"Yes." She snapped.

His smile faded, brows furrowing. "Okay, you need to tell me what’s wrong right now. Did something happen?"

Y/n huffed, feeling guilty for yelling at him.

"It- it’s nothing, just a bad mood. I’m sorry."

She felt him move in closer, his steps silent as he reached out to hold both her arms and tugged her closer. Y/n peered up at him, her cheeks turning red.

"Tell me, love. Did someone say something?"

She sighed. "I just- I’m tired of watching everyone act like you aren’t married." Confusion took over his eyes, but he said nothing. Instead, he effortlessly lifted her onto the kitchen counter before slotting himself between her legs, his full attention on her. "I was scrolling, and I kept seeing so many edits of you and… and her."

He cocked his head. "Clair?"

She rolled her eyes. "Yes. And then I watched the interview, and everyone kept insisting they wished you two were together. Even the interviewer seemed intent on it."

She played with the buttons on his shirt as she spoke. She could practically feel his slight smile as he opened his mouth to speak, making her pout.

"Love, you know I only love you."

She glared at him. "You better, or I will kill you."

He smirked. "Kinky, but I like it."

She shoved his shoulder. "I’m not joking. I will kill you."

He leaned in, his smirk unwavering. "Neither am I, sweetheart."

She gave him a look. "I’m concerned for you."

He shrugged. "I find anything you do attractive, sweetheart. You shouldn’t be surprised anymore, I think."

Y/n grabbed his collar, staring deep into his eyes even as blood rushed to her neck. "You’re mine."

Rhys tightened his grip on her waist, placing a soft kiss to her neck. "I am yours."

She hummed, snuggling into the junction between his shoulder and neck. "I love you."

"I love you too, my love." He paused. "Did you watch the full interview?"

Immediately, her mood soured again. "No. I saw someone talking about the question about your future plans with her, and I closed it."

He pulled away and took his phone out of his pocket, tapping away without a word before placing the device in her hand. "Watch."

Y/n did not want to, but she remained quiet, taking his hand in hers.

"So, what are your plans for the future with Clair? Fans- and even me- are very interested to see how you two progress."

Rhys’s smile vanished, replaced by a cold look. "What do you mean by that? Why would I have any plans with her?"

The interviewer looked like she knew she had messed up. "I was just asking what the fans were curious about…"

Rhys raised a brow, turning to stare directly into the camera. "It is very well known that I am married and in love with my wife," his eyes softened at the mention of Y/n, making her belly flutter. "I have no plans for the future with anyone except her. I’d be extremely happy if everyone stopped acting like she doesn’t exist and wishing I was dating someone else, no matter how much onscreen chemistry we share."

Y/n realised the comments talking about how in love he looked were not about Rhys talking about Clair, but her.

Oh.

Oh.

"Forgive me for asking-"

"That’s fine, but remember it the next time before implying I have anything but acquaintance relations with my co-stars."

The woman nodded, and Y/n watched as Clair looked away from Rhys.

It was clear to anyone that she probably had a slight crush on him, and Y/n couldn’t blame her. He was just that charming and loveable, it was hard not to like him. She glanced up at him, pausing the video. Guilt festered in her chest once more, and he smiled.

"I’m sorry Rhysie-"

He lifted his hand to her jaw, pulling her face down to place a kiss to her forehead. "None of that. I know it can get hard sometimes, considering how the fans insist I am in a relationship outside of you, but you know I would never do that to you."

He let silence settle in for a moment, then- "I was going to ask you to come with me to the red carpets next week. You will come with me, right? I wanna show everyone what they see on screen is nothing compared to what real love looks like."

She nodded, giggling. "I love you."

"I love you too, darling."

neatly pressed suits, punctuality, thorough mission reports—those were his constants in a world that often lacked structure.

and yet, every single one of those things had started to unravel the moment you entered his life like a walking chaos gremlin in a hoodie that said ‘curse these vibes’.

today was no exception.

he sat near the head of the long meeting table, eyes on yaga’s whiteboard, filled with scribbles about cursed spirit activity and high-level predictions. he was doing fine, really—until he felt a soft flick against his elbow.

he looked down.

a folded piece of paper was inching toward him across the smooth surface of the table.

he didn’t look at you. he didn’t need to.

still, he opened it under the table with the most minimal movement possible. inside was a truly cursed doodle of him—stick-figure nanami, holding a briefcase, frowning so hard it looked like his face had collapsed in on itself. next to it, in your unmistakable scrawl:

nanami-senpai in his natural habitat. disgruntled. dangerous. desperate for coffee.

he exhaled slowly and shot you a look. you stared back, eyes wide and innocent like a mischievous cat.

but then came another flick. another note.

this one showed stick-figure nanami next to stick-figure you, who had sparkling stars for eyes and hearts floating over your head. in speech bubbles:

you: “you look handsome when you’re mad.”

nanami: “i’m not mad.”

you: “you’re always mad.”

nanami: “i’m always handsome.”

he choked. very subtly.

“nanami?” yaga said suddenly. “your thoughts on the projected cursed energy flux in yokohama?”

“yes,” nanami said, voice even, like nothing had happened. “the data appears consistent with a domain forming. it should be monitored closely.”

you were grinning. you slid one final note toward him.

what if we kissed after this meeting??

it had sparkles. and a little doodle of you leaning over a table to smooch him while he looked scandalized.

he very slowly turned his head to look at you. you gave him the world’s most innocent expression, as if you weren’t the reason his eye was twitching and his patience was hanging by a thread.

when the meeting ended, he stood. calmly. adjusted his tie. waited for everyone to filter out.

you were still gathering your things when he leaned down beside you, voice a soft rumble at your ear. “you realize yaga could’ve seen those.”

“but he didn’t,” you said sweetly. “and you did. which was the point.”

he exhaled sharply through his nose. “you want attention so badly.”

“only from you,” you said, like it was the most obvious truth in the world.

he stared at you for a long beat, and you expected a lecture. maybe a sigh.

instead, he stepped in closer, hand lightly grazing your lower back as he guided you toward the hallway.

“if i kiss you right now,” he said under his breath, “will you stop handing me cursed stick-figure art in professional settings?”

you gasped. “was that flirting, nanami?”

“don’t push your luck.”

you tilted your face up to him with a grin. “so is that a yes?”

he didn’t answer. not with words, anyway.

he kissed you right there in the quiet corridor—soft but certain, like he’d been waiting to do it since the first cursed doodle you ever handed him.

you blinked up at him after, stunned. “that was… that was a really good kiss for someone who just got slandered via stick figure.”

“consider it a tactical distraction,” he said, brushing your hair back gently. “so you forget you’re on thin ice.”

you beamed. “too late. already thinking about what i’ll draw next.”

he sighed. and then, because he was doomed—he kissed you again.

That is every other Royal that exists in the Nether and also at least some of the demons that challenged him for his Royal title lol.

Believe me, no one was or is more surprised then me XD;

So, the thing about where Rire's ichor manifests is that it kinda exists and doesn't exist at the same time. Meaning that his upper back is where the manifestation point is anchored, BUT it can still manifest with a bit of space in between it and his back hence why it will manifest over his clothes and not through them.

So if you touch where the manifestation point is sans the ichor, than you are just straight up touching his back. With the ichor, he still gets sensory input from the tentacles to his back but it's a lot more soft and muted esp the further away it gets from him. As you've seen implied though, he would feel a very sharp pain if a great deal of damage was done to the ichor where it clusters at the manifestation point, since he'd DEF be feeling that straight in his back lol.

He is definitely a top and the only way he would bottom for anybody is if they somehow forced him to.

Ah i knew i'd answered this a long time ago [finally found it]! Holy crosses (those that have been blessed) can also burn him but they would need to be in contact with him the entire time. Being a Royal he also has more of a tolerance to these than normal demons.

Well, unless said person actually has the undeniable ability to make good on their words, Rire would just stand there rather genially with that little smile he sometimes has and let them finish.

And then he might use them as reverse suggestions for dealing with said person (why would you give him any ideas!!?)

In BTD canon it is quite possible that they actually haven't in person. But we are using creative license here haha.

Rire heals a lot faster than a human. Cain is not my character so I don't know how his stacks up.

I've grouped these asks cos they kind of have similar answers - 360° (jk sorry sorry to the second q that is just a very common spelling mistake and I couldn't resist XD; )

Now, even though we mashed all the characs together in BTD, they all actually come from different storylines and so their canons outside the "BTD canon" may differ. This tends to bleed in. With this in mind:

The rules of Rire's canon (eg the concept of Battle Royales and how to become a Royal) don't apply to Cain. Anyway, they don't live in the same place either.

Cain is canonically the oldest and most OP character in BTD lol so yes he is stronger than Rire - you might've noticed, but Rire is never in the same drawing as Cain voluntarily. I play with this along with the "natural weakness" aspect - which I've also referred to as scissors-paper-rock rules XD Basically; demons beat humans, angels beat demons (purely because demons have weakness against holiness).

Whatever that one is where he doesn't particularly care what someone else identifies as. It really makes no difference to him or how he will act.

There are viruses in the Nether that if contracted could potentially kill you, yes. Part of being a Royal is becoming a lot more robust than normal Demons though. As for if/when Rire dies, I dunno maybe either in a Battle Royale somewhere thousands of years down the line or by old age (which is rare for a Royal but not impossible if you play your cards right).

Over the years, we have gotten tons and tons of information which have proven beyond measure that Jikook are incredibly close to each other and spend a lot of time together but it felt a little different watching AYS and seeing more aspects of their closeness manifest.

During the solo era, we had people saying that Jikook weren’t close at all and had never been close and that everything from the past that made it seem like they were close was because the company wanted people to believe they were and that the solo era had exposed the fact that Jikook were really not close but I really do wonder how the following things could have been possible at all if Jikook were infact not close in real life.

1:Their Inside Jokes:

I feel like so many things are debatable but one thing which isn’t is the fact that Jimin and Jungkook have so many inside jokes or meme references which only the two of them seem to understand and AYS once again proved this. There is no way two people who aren’t incredibly close and who don’t spend a lot of time together get to have as many inside jokes as Jimin and Jungkook. We have compilations of their jokes from years ago but just from AYS alone, we got this much!

What is interesting here is that other people or members around them do not seem to get their jokes or references. I mean we all saw Tae sitting there with them looking lost as hell while Jikook just came up with meme references after the other or with Jokes after jokes so before someone tries to bring up the argument that they are bandmates and have lived together for years so of course they know the same jokes, then why didn’t Tae get all these jokes or meme references?

The way Jimin immediately understood the “apologize to me” meme references the moment he saw Jk making the face without Jk even saying a word, was very telling. The way Jk immediately got the “goood” meme reference while they were at the restaurant in Sapporo, the way Jimin and Jungkook started going “who is going to feed the cows” with the hand and body movements while Tae just sat there looking kinda lost was so telling. It makes you question when, where and how did they even learn all those things to just completely get each other with little or no words if they weren’t close and spend no time together as some people so desperately want to believe?

It’s not rocket science. People only have this many inside jokes if they spend a lot of time together watching the same stuff and repeating them over and over to themselves as jokes or for fun. Notice how neither Jimin nor Jungkook ever had to ask the other, “do you know this meme” but instead just went along with the other as soon as one of them started it? Yea you cannot fake this and once again if this only happened because they are bandmates and have lived together for years, Tae would have gotten those references too but he clearly didn’t the same way in older bangtan content, we have seen Jikook make reference to other memes or jokes that only them two understood while the rest of the members around them looked confused as hell.

2: Tae seeing JK doing a soju bottle trick and immediately assuming he learnt it from Jimin was also very telling. Just like the first point, this too was another very subtle proof of how close Jikook are and how much time they spend together. Tae wouldn’t have immediately assumed that it was Jimin whom Jk learnt that trick from unless he knew about how much time they spend together, what they do when they are together and how close they are. Jimin and Jungkook have mentioned spending time drinking together (amidst other things) and Tae clearly knows this. This also kinda goes hand in hand with the little comment he made: “they are like twins” while Jikook were snorkelling. The phrase often highlights how inseparable two people are. It suggests that they are so close emotionally and spend so much time together that they seem to function as a unit, much like actual twins. If Tae didn’t think or know how close those two are and how much time they spend together, there is no way in hell he would have seen Jk doing something and immediately thought he learnt it from Jimin especially because Jk might have learnt that bottle trick from anywhere else and the kicker is, Jimin said Jk actually didn’t learn that from him because he doesn’t do that when he drinks but it’s interesting how Tae immediately assumed he did.

The other members don’t have to explicitly say “Jimin and Jungkook are close” for one to understand that they are because statements like this tell us how the members see Jikook. This goes hand in hand with the members constantly mixing up Jimin and Jungkook’s names, or the members instinctively mentioning their names after each other’s. These are things you cannot fake.

3: Jimin and Jungkook maintaining certain patterns of their behaviour throughout the years is another thing that was interesting to see play out on AYS. Throughout the years, we have heard from members and Jikook themselves just how much they enjoy spending alone time together in their down time and at nights and it was interesting to see that this habit of theirs just didn’t die. In AYS, we saw how Jikook made decisions to do things together which included staying up late together, deciding to go to bed together etc even when Tae always went to bed earlier than they did. These are things we have heard that they did for years and we were able to see glimpses of this but it was interesting to really see this play out on AYS. It was beautiful to see how they didn’t need much to keep themselves entertained as they could always come up with the smallest things to giggle about or play with. People just don’t get each other like this unless they are incredibly close and have a deep connection. It was important for them to do things together and they did them so naturally that you could easily tell they were so used to this.

4: Both of them knowing exactly what the other person likes was another example. Jimin knowing the kind of activities that Jk would love and choosing them. Jk knowing exactly how Jimin likes his food (spicy) and also knowing that Jimin was going to love the beef stew.

Sometimes too it was the way they understood each other without words. Jungkook realizing that Jimin felt sad about their trip coming to an end and doing everything in his power to cheer him up. Another thing which made me so soft and which I didn’t even know until someone pointed it out, was the fact that Jungkook knew that letting cold air get into the car by keeping the windows open would be a sure way to get Jimin to cheer up because Jimin had once mentioned that when he feels sad, he goes to a cold place. This was something Jimin said back in 2018 so it was really beautiful to see that Jungkook still remembered it.

5: Jk saying that “if we had met as friends of the same age, we would have been copies of each other”. I feel like this one is pretty self explanatory. This isn’t something you say to someone you aren’t incredibly close to.

The idea of being “same age friends” suggests that meeting as two people who were of the same age (while taking into consideration the cultural context) might have shaped their personalities in a way that made them even more alike than they already are. It implies that age or circumstances have caused some differences, but the core of who they are is so similar that, under different conditions, they would have been almost indistinguishable. The statement also conveys a strong connection or bond. It implies that the Jk sees a lot of himself in Jimin and vice versa and feels a sense of kindred spirit, as if they are mirror images of each other in many ways and this isn’t something you say to a person unless you feel really close to them.

These were a few things from AYS that once again proved how close Jikook are and these are things that cannot be faked because they come very naturally. Habits, instinctive statements and phrases etc.

Fun fun fun. But then again, what didn't we know already? Those two are the most chaotic duo there is. Lovers of chaos (JM showed us that himself with his folio, lol),

but more so when it's the combination of the two of them.

They love spending time together, they love having fun together, and now they are sharing it with us. Not a snippet, not a couple of seconds worth of mayhem having to be edited in due to a chaos related injury (if you aren't getting the reference, than I'll spit it out - ITS mosquito net debacle). A full on 8 episode series (with behind episodes to follow, may I add) of Jikook fun and chaos.

I mean, they have been sleeping in the same bed since practically debut, JM telling us back in 2015 already how JK hugs him to sleep (JK saying JM is saying something weird, not denying it by a long shot).

JM kind of made it clear since forever that he wants us to know that JK chooses to sleep in his (JM's) bed.

Again, this is a very Jikook thing. Walking, talking, no personal space what so ever between them, because why would they need any, right?

But you see, that's the thing about JK. There is him and JM, and then there are the members. He loves them, make no mistake, but JM by now is an intricate part of him. He's the one that he feels one with. We have seen it with his actions over the years. We have seen it with comments he made over the years, like who his heart is connected with on stage. We saw it now once again with his choice (their choice) to go through their military service together even if it meant a more difficult, even dangerous seeing the tensions with NK at the moment, placement as the price to be paid (not to mention the hate some parts of the fandom towards either of them for this decision).

JM telling JK he's a member as a response to JK's comment is funny, because he knows exactly what JK means.

So to JK there is JM and there is the members. It's obvious to him that JM is a member, and JM knows that. He's not saying, like I'm sure there are already those that are loving to claim, that JM is not important to him and he wishes the others were there instead. He's basically having the time of his life and missing the others that aren't there with them. Their friends, their practically family. Bandmates that they have went on many adventures with in the past, bandmates that JK himself stated in one of his last lives that after coming back he would love to do a BV style show again, travelling with them all. Remember that this is in Sapporo, a second and a half before enlistment. They are having the time of their lives. Emotions might be catching up. Realizations that they won't be with the others for the next 18+ months. At this point he knows he's going to be with JM, they are SAFE, but the others, 2 of whom he hasn't seen for ages already, he knows he'll miss them, he already does.

So basically, what we got is all summer posters. And that is a little curious given that the first poster said Summer version. I was sure that this one would be Winter related. Now I am curious indeed. Does it mean something? Does it mean we do have a Winter version? How so, when the 8 episodes being released have Summer, Autumn and Winter episodes? Or, perhaps the behind episodes will be the Winter version? Hmm... Idk...

Anyway, unless we get another surprise on the way, we are now anxiously, or more so excitedly, waiting for 8 August 2024.

As much as you wanted to blame Diavolo for the whole ordeal, you knew the poor prince wasn’t guilty of what others did and what you felt in retaliation. Sure, he could get ridiculously eager sometimes, but he had good intentions and most of his ideas came from the yearning of an absent childhood. Costumes, contests, competitions, concerts, exhibitions… The matter of truth was that, at the end of the day, most of those involved in the celebrations ended up enjoying every part of the demon prince’s ideas.

Unfortunately, that included the unforeseen consequences.

A giggle brought your attention to the other side of the classroom, but when you turned to stare with a harsh expression no one looked back. Several minutes had passed since you first started sensing the body beside you tense more and more, shrinking under the shameless gaze of countless students who didn’t know what “discretion” was. Levi’s hand was clammy, unusually cold and shaky, but you didn’t dare let it go; if your hold brought him comfort, then you’d stay there for as long as he needed it. Not like you’d ever complain about it, anyway.

However, you had to admit that, had the context been different, then the gesture would’ve been much more pleasant.

You heard a murmur around you, more high-pitched voices whispering the Avatar of Envy’s name with a hint of desire that took away your appetite and made you fidget in your seat; the uncomfortable urge to get up and pounce giving you more energy than you could manage at the moment. Still, the room was too dark for you to know who was talking, something which was definitely worse for your nerves.

A deep sigh left your body in search of patience, forcing Levi to turn just the needed amount to look at you with curiosity. Sadly for you and whoever was interested in him that day, apparently everyone, his features were twisted in an uncomfortable grimace.

Giving his hand a gentle tug, you brought him closer to you.

“Ignore them” you muttered, relishing in the way his skin prickled under your breath.

And weren’t you a hypocrite?

If he were paying closer attention, he would’ve felt your jealousy through your pact in mere seconds.

“They’re all just staring…!” he whined only for you to hear.

You pressed your lips together and swallowed your answer. As much as you wanted to curse your classmates for their lack of shame, you would be lying if you said you hadn’t stared too, back when the movie started. The lights were off and your seats were right at the very back, so you’d had the perfect opportunity to observe his new outfit without being openly obvious. Of course, you should've expected his exposed torso and arms would get that much attention.

It unnerved you.

“Don’t worry, the movie is ending” you offered, absentmindedly tracing the length of his fingers with your nails. A tempting thought then made you lean closer. “Once we’re home we can shut ourselves in your room and not leave until the rest of spirit week is over”

His eyes widened at that, no doubt thinking of the relief of slipping into more comfortable clothes and rotting away with you by his side. His hand twitched in your grip while his mind drifted away, shifting to interlock your fingers together instead of just holding them.

“Not leave…?” he repeated in a quiet voice. “In-in… my room?”

A blush slowly started covering his face completely and a familiar warmth immediately coated your belly in response. You weren’t sure if his flushed expression was due to innocent thoughts of potentially spending alone time with you or if he was pondering the idea of something much more intimate, but you found yourself not caring that much.

The pad of your fingers pressed against the tendons of his knuckles, gently coating them into relaxation, while your thumb traced the length of his index finger. His digits were long, crooked after endless years of gaming, consuming and creating. Something about it was exciting and you weren’t brave enough to pinpoint exactly why.

One final giggle a few rows ahead popped the bubble around you. Instinctively, you took your joint hands away from the table and hid them on your lap. Levi gasped, still blushing from whatever his imagination was conjuring, and let the surprising force of your tug bring him that much closer to you.

The extreme warmth of his face and his shaky breaths caressed your skin, but it was the sharp edge of his blue-coated nails, sunk deep into your hand, what was making your heart beat faster.

Slowly, relishing in the short distance between your bodies, you nodded and made direct eye contact.

“The rest of the week” you ensured.  

Only you would look at him then.

Hey, there! First of all, I wanted to share just how much I enjoy reading all of your detailed posts and how nearly every time they're just SO spot! This being said, I was wondering about something just for funsies: What are some moments between JK and JM that people often use as "proof" but in your eyes, they aren't actually all that significant to you and are just innocent interactions? Personally, I love being realistic and objective when it comes to KM, so there definitely are some moments that just don't look all that proof-esque to me the way other momemts between them are undeniably hinting at a possible relationship. I was curious about your views on this matter, and thank you so much if you decide to indulge in my curiosity hehe!!

Thanks a lot for your kind words. I really appreciate it and I'm so happy to know that you enjoy my posts.

But when it comes to your ask 😅 I should probably be the last person you send this to. I understand its natural to leave room for doubt since we are all assuming that Jikook are in a relationship. However, I'm a bit different, I guess, because I have no doubt in my mind when it comes to Jikook. For me, they're definitely in a long term committed relationship with each other.

I usually never try to link two people romantically unless they've made it public that they're dating. However, if I notice something undeniable in their behaviors or interactions when they're around each other, I might change my perspective. There's often a chemistry or electric spark thats impossible to hide no matter how hard they try.

And when it comes to Jimin and Jungkook there are countless behavior patterns over the years that solidify my belief. Even without considering the loud moments there are numerous subtle and consistent patterns in the way they interact with each other. A few of these are:

1) Their frequent one on one time both on and off camera

2) Their inside jokes, inside stories, their nicknames or terms of endearment for each other

3) Their familiarity with each other's habits which most of the time seem like new information to even the other members

4) Subtle physical affection like lingering touches, any excuse to hold hands, always gravitating towards each other

5) Body language (angling their body towards each other), giving the other undivided attention, using soft tones while speaking

6) Unconscious smiling where they smile a lot more in each other's presence for no particular reason

7) Blushing (cue Jimin on his birthday live 2021, Jimin during 3J Butter dance version, Jimin after blowing a kiss to Jungkook during MMA 2018 and many more)

8) The protective gestures, how they get defensive when it comes to the other

9) Their soft gazes for each other which are filled with affection and admiration

10) Their noticeable effort to support each other (Jikook at each other's practice stages), the concern and worry reflected in their eyes and voice tones when the other is having a grueling schedule, bad health etc.

All of these are indicators which reveal the depth of their relationship.

So, what I'm saying is that, what maybe proof of Jikook dating to some might not be convincing to others. This could be because those moments are subtler compared to the more obvious ones. However, that doesn't make those moments any less meaningful. When considering the bigger picture, these subtle moments, especially since they occur consistently make a significant difference in how we perceive Jikook's dynamic.

It shows that what they have is not mere sexual attraction but something they have nurtured through time and effort. That's why their love continues to thrive despite all the struggles they may have faced.

We are all unique and this uniqueness shapes the way we perceive things. Thats why there is a variety of opinions and perspectives when it comes to interpreting a moment or interaction.

And since Jikook are in love (in my opinion) almost all their interactions carry an underlying affection and fondness for each other. This is why to some these interactions might appear as evidence of them being together.

When it comes to them I always notice something special in the way they interact. They're so gentle, romantic, and fun that it makes me believe that love still exists and its possible to have healthy loving long term relationships even when you're super famous. They're truly a breath of fresh air.

Are You Sure? - Ep8

Here are my thoughts now that I finally watched the episode (I was at work all day, anon, lol).

I honestly don’t have too too many, because my main takeaway was that they seemed to have truly needed these trips together. They knew by Jeju they’d be enlisting together, so I feel like any thoughts I had about the trips being a sort of last hurrah before potentially being separated go out the window.

They knew they’d be together, so barring them being romantically involved in some way… I kind of don’t get the point of the series.

Had this been a special involving other members, then it being work related would make sense. Had this been more like the Jeju episodes where they weren’t as laid back, I’d get it, but it wasn’t. Five out of eight episodes focused on them not doing much else other than simply spending time together. Sight seeing and going out to eat, with a sprinkle of activities. We saw them shopping for food and driving more than anything else, but for some reason they both still say the whole experience and filming of the series was the best thing they’ve gotten to do.

That to me, and I say this with full honesty, does not make sense to me, if they’re strictly platonic. I don’t know, episode eight sees them putting a certain level of importance on these trips that many antis wanted to rip away, and surely they knew that. They know what people think about them in their own fandom, both for the better and the worse, and they didn’t care. Which, good for them.

Moving away from my confusion in an attempt to find another explanation, I also think their joint melancholy about having to leave triggered the dropping of their guards a little bit. Add that to them drinking some, and their whole reaction moment felt almost intrusive to see, lol. They kept gravitating toward each other the entire time, only for the editors to skip to them sitting back up with more space between them. Nevermind the footsie and Jimin walking by the room they were shown going to bed in, when he said he was going to wake JK up.

So unless Jungkook was already up and in the shower or something, which they conveniently didn’t mention despite doing it every other time… they either didn’t sleep in the room with the camera or JK moved rooms. But again, given they gave us updates about every other sleeping arrangement or change, why would their last night be different if nothing happened? (By “nothing” I genuinely mean I think they moved to a different room without a camera, likely to talk or simply be closer. Not necessarily sex, because again, I don’t see them going there with a house full of staff.)

Pure speculation of course, lol, but yeah. Those moments made me feel a little like, okay, they did this with the intent of making memories. They may have wanted to cement who they are to each other in this moment, because no matter how optimistic they were that things wouldn’t change and their friendship would be solid, no one can predict the future.

Couple that with them both starting Ep1 saying they hadn’t seen each other and Jimin not being sure (no pun intended) the trip was a good idea in the first place, to them ending Ep8 saying they didn’t want it to be over and spent the last few days happy… it’s a big deal, I think. Especially with how many times they spent their last day in Sapporo taking about how romantic and pretty everything was.

Per the words from their own mouths, they created a small, romantic, nice, and happy bubble they didn’t want to leave, and I love that for them. They got to be happy and cared for by one another, and want to spend many more years to come doing the same thing. I hope they get that.

Oh and final thought… I want that house! Their final Sapporo house was beautiful, as was the town. It felt like a holiday special!

The hardest few seconds for me to watch, were these...

Jimin was absolutely dreading appearing on screen without his trademark beautiful hair.

We know he left it as late as he could and didn't want to show anyone.

He looked like he was barely holding it together when he called attention to his hair being shaved. He must have genuinely been scared of the reaction he would get, even from Kook.

"It looks good on you"

Jungkook, you absolute fucking LEGEND 💜

He knew exactly what to say.

When Jungkook told Jimin he looked good (even with no hair) Jimin turned his face away <those feels choking him up> and when he turned back, the almost desperate look of gratitude mixed with relief was so clear.

Please love me is Jimin's line today.

This is not about vanity, ego or pride.

It brings home how fragile his confidence is. His need for approval and the assurance of being loved is strong. It’s so heartbreaking, but we know he hasn't had an easy road.**

Thankfully he did stand a little bit taller once JK reassured him...

But it wasn't an easy moment for Jungkook either.

Whether because he had to witness Jimin's fear and could do nothing more than pet his head, or because he was facing his own misgivings (probably both) he looked equally lost in that moment.

Remember that these boys have left their home once before and journeyed to a place that was less than welcoming. They've had to face the grim, disproving faces of unkind critics and a system that didn't support or value them.

I don't doubt there were echoes of that feeling on this day, that same sense of trepidation they've known before.

We know how the military treats men like them.

And then...

we got this:

You can take the boy out of Busan but you can't take Busan out of the boy.

(People say this about my home town too...)

The shadow of fear is still there in his eyes but.... he looks like a (very hot) backstreet thug who will absolutely fuck you up no questions asked.

It does occur to me that MS might be the reason Jimin has been learning to fight.

I mean really learning to fight.

Yes he's probably doing boxing too but i suspect something more than that ... you shouldn't get torn knuckles from boxing lessons unless you aren't wrapping your hands properly, just saying.

If all else fails (words before fists, right?) I hope he can handle himself.

If he must defend himself, and someone (not him) looks like they've had a close encounter with his fists, I saw nothing.

I hope for both of them, their background will serve them well. In any case they will support one another and their love will see them through this. It's exactly why they are enlisting as companions.

The image he presents to the world is as much a construct as any person's is - and whether you're aware of this or not, all our public selves are social constructs.

"One size does not fit all" for queer people

For cis gendered heterosexual people, society has a few different ready-made constructs you can adopt, and the rest of society automatically understands the message you're sending. Most of them maintain the status quo of heterosexual cultural norms.

For anyone who DOESNT fit those norms, it's honestly never going to feel good expressing an image that isnt really you. Its like trying and make your circle self fit in a square box.

But theres nothing else that's readily available...

You really have to construct your public image from scratch.

When you aren't part of that typical demographic, figuring out how you want to be seen by the world can be an arduous and complex process.

How much do you reveal? How much do you risk?

You'll experiment with styles, behaviours, and social groups until you find a safe space you can occupy.

Jimin's safe space is with ARMY or his members, but it requires looking perfect.

Think about Jimin's hesitance to appear on camera without makeup. How carefully he chooses his clothes - whether for airport appearances, stage performance or out on the street. He usually has a team of people making sure he looks perfect. His hair is a trademark feature. It's always beautiful.

Remember that he's used to EVERYONE LOOKING AT HIM, ALL THE TIME.

Imagine how it feels to go out in public - against your will - with a shaved head.

Without hair, he would have surely felt naked. Plus, he's no longer in the safe embrace of ARMY, and his buffer of security and managers keeping him out of danger is gone.

He's immensely famous, but not universally loved (don't even go there) and bald, and small, and an IDOL, and very gay ... lets go with unlikely to be heterosexual.

No wonder he was feeling vulnerable.

Ngl, it broke my heart to see him so afraid but I'm sure he'll have a substantial group of supporters around him. I can only hope.

You are missing my point terribly. Also saying that the people who don’t agree with your takes are homophobic is crazy lol. There are many people out there who understand that love can happen to anyone even same sex bandmates but they just don’t agree with your analysis and conclusions on taekook because over the years there’s been tons of things that have openly debunked the idea that they are a couple. That is how your fandom managed to keep growing bigger even during the Taekook droughts and one of the reasons why taekookers are generally seen as a cult. You don’t allow space for reason as you have decided to firmly believe in what you want to believe and not what is the truth. Jk and Tae could literally show proof tomorrow of constantly being with other men or women but majority of taekookers will still find a way to argue that.

(I already talk about JK being there for Jimin here) Other members chime in and at first Jimin is laughing with them. But then at some point he stops laughing, just sits there as they continue to make fun of him. Then he starts chewing on his nails which alot of the time is a sign of nerves

And he absolutely shrinks in on himself. Of course JK notices immediately and that's when he tells the members to cut it out. He tells them how they should be making Jimin feel better. Not making fun of him. Immediately all the members, at the same time, backtrack. They start praising Jimin and saying how they get it.

And, this was after JK kept going to keep an eye on Jimin cooking even though they weren't team mates or nothing. I'm telling y'all, Jimin sits pretty at home while JK does all the cooking. Anyway, when Jin tastes the food he says;

While the rest, mind you, are still making fun of Jimin/his dish. But JK didn't give a shit. His baby had made that plate and by God he was going to enjoy every second of it.

Once again, to me, this cements my theory that JK doesn't get to eat Jimin's food often. He gets way too excited when Jimin cooks, can't wait to taste his food, etc etc.

Which brings us to our next example where one time Jimin brought the entire group cucumber drinks and they hated it. Jhope goes on to explain just how much they hated the flavor.

There is a chorus of all the members agreeing with Jhope and even Jimin accepts that the cucumber drinks were terrible. But low and behold, look what the boyfriend had to say about it

People say that JK benefits a lot from being the center of major ships in the fandom and I don't disagree that he benefits a little but I do think its overblown and I say this as someone who very heavily biases Jimin compared to the other members. Why I bring this is up is because I stumbled upon a yoonmin account today once again and in all my years of coming across yoonminers and I've found only a handful of genuine double biased among those shippers. For the rest Jimin is only there to token stan and use as Yoongi's cheerleader. Yoonminers are almost across the board completely useless for Jimin in terms of supporting him, his music, defending him against antis or even liking him as an individual outside of Yoongi - and I'm talking about people who ship yoonmin as their main not even about tkkrs who have yoonmin as some kind of 2-for-1 package. So yeah as someone who's seen how useless being token stanned by shippers is, I'd say the benefits JK gets are probably because those shippers might actually like him. And even then there's a lot of shippers - and here I include all ships incl jikook - who sometimes only like both people in relation to the ship and you will only see them consuming ship related material.

So all this to say I think the positive affect of having shippers on your side is a bit exaggerated. It's as useful as having kpop stans by your side. You'll get some more likes and buzz on social media but when it comes to music or any actual support, most of them are useless unless as I said the shipper originally liked the member beyond the context of the ship. JK gets a lot of social media clout from all his shippers, y/n's etc of course and that is useful in creating the image of popularity don't get me wrong but there's a ton of idols who have a lot of exaggerated support on social media but whose music streams are extremely disappointing or whose stans support is extremely shallow because they like them for a ship or just for their looks

I agree with your observation and I believe I have mentioned this before. Many people think Jk actually benefits alot because he is shipped with taehyung and Jimin but I never thought that was true and I still don’t think it’s true. This is mainly because in most of the ships he is the center of, he is rarely ever the favourite. Most taekoookers are Taehyung biased and either have Jk as a bias wrecker or just like him because they think he is dating Tae or want him to be with Tae and the same goes for jikookers. Most jikookers are Jimin biased and either have Jk as a bias wrecker or only like him because they think he is dating Jimin or want him to be with Jimin. You can see how true this is in how easily he gets dropped or criticized after he doesn’t “act right” with one of these two.

I still remember how many jikookers became Jimin solos after Face and Seven era and how many taekookers dropped Jungkook like he was hot after Layover and even after Taennie. Jungkook is the one who constantly gets thrown under the bus and very few people actually care to defend him unless it is in relation to the ship, so no, Jungkook has never really benefited much from ships, if anything he had just been used in shipwars only to be abandoned or shaded and insulted, the moment he isn’t either treating Jimin like an egg or the moment he isn’t showing enough love for Tae as Tae shows to him.

Jimin is my bias and honestly I may never have noticed Jungkook as much if it wasn’t for his bond with Jimin but once I noticed him and got to know him not only as an idol but as a person, I grew to love him so much. I hate how misunderstood he is. It breaks my heart everytime I see people complain about him and accuse him of being rude or insensitive or abusive or selfish or all the nonsense taekookers, jikookers, solos and haters say about him when he doesn’t act the way they want him to because in my eyes Jungkook is one of the most innocent and most sensitive members. He is one who has the innocence of baby and is extremely kind and thoughtful. He isn’t perfect and he has his bratty moments and could sometimes be a little to blunt without realizing that his words could be hurtful but he is genuinely a good person and I love him so much.

I know that I have digressed but your ask made me remember that I had been planning to make a post about Jungkook because I got sick and tired of seeing everyone shit on him. I get sick and tired of seeing people treat him like he isn’t a human being yet people have the guts to say he benefits alot from both ships even though all he gets is hate and people constantly pretending to love him even though they do not hesitate to drop him when he doesn’t toe the line. Plus this shenanigans over the past few days have really broken my heart and I can’t believe how this fandom is turning against him just because he dared to speak out against something he probably has experienced himself.

Even people who aren’t shippers who claim to love him only love what he is and not who he is as a person. I cannot tell you how many times I go through the Jungkook tag here on tumblr trying to find good Jungkook focused blogs that have meaningful discussions about him as we have many Jimin focused blogs like that, but everytime I check, the tag is filled with shippers, fanfics or porn, I am tired. It’s like he is just a piece of meat for everyone to either use in ships or use in their Y/N fantasies. Very few people actually care to know who Jungkook is beyond his idol image and hot looks. Even the solos who claim to love him and stream for him only do that so they could have something to brag about among other solos because you can easily tell they don’t know the first thing about Jungkook and don’t care to know. They project unto him, call him a company puppet when they feel like it, potray him as someone who is abusive and rude and insensitive towards his members, infact to them, he is the epitome of a fuck boy and I am tired.

This isn’t me saying that there aren’t shippers or fans who genuinely love him and do things for him out of that love, there are and I am grateful for all the people like that but sometimes I just wish he had more people who genuinely love him not the ones who pretend to for one reason or the other but start showing their true colors once they are not satisfied with something he does or doesn’t do.

As for yoonminers, I don’t even want to talk about those ones because sometimes I feel like they disgust me more than taekookers do.
