Do you make your bed? Hahaha nope. Maybe Saturday morning, when my bad conscience forces me to take care of the things I let slide all week.

What’s your job? Art Director in Advertising.

If you could go back to school would you? Oh I don't know. You mean like jump back a few decades? It would be fun for a week probably! Have stupid teenage fun, no cares about the future, only school? No pressure of social media? Sounds nice, doesn't it? But like, learn a new trade/job? There are things I would love to do but I am a nest-builder. I need my safety, and starting off new it too scary for me.

Can you parallel park? No driver's license, so no.

Do you think aliens are real? Little green men visiting us? No. Alien life? 1000%. How arrogant must one be to believe this planet is the only one with life on it in the vastness of the universe.

Can you drive a manual car? Still no driver's license, so no.

What’s your guilty pleasure? Corny German village pop music from the 90s. There's a time of the year when I listen to the songs my parents listened to when I was young and with no worries. If it sounds like a sunny barbecue during your summer holidays I'm in.

Tattoos? No. I wouldn't know what to get? The only thing I've loved long enough to consider putting on my skin forever is Lord of the Rings.

Favorite color? Black and Halloween Orange.

Favorite types of music? My taste in music depends a lot on the season. So I get the whole range from Singer/Songwriter, Electronic Music, Classic Rock, Viking chants, Classical music, Pop, Hip Hop - you name it.

Do you like puzzles? Only if they are not too difficult. I hate feeling stupid and inadequate 🤭

Any phobias? Not phobias, no. But I will slightly panic if a hornet gets to close. Oh, also? Fuck mold! The thought of having to touch moldy food? UGH!!!

Favorite childhood sport? I never played much sport. I'm a big girl. But I enjoyed ice skating the few times I've been.

Do you talk to yourself? I think the occasional phrase is uttered. But it's only saying thoughts out loud, no back and forth.

What movies do you adore? Lord of the Rings ✨. I can't count the number of times I have seen these movies in total. But I've seen Fellowship of the Rings at least 12 times on the big screen, including special screenings, open-air in castle ruins and with a live Orchestra. That does not count my frankly countless re-watches. I take one weekend each winter, just for myself, my couch, snacks, and all three movies. Extended, OBVIOUSLY. (Besides: the white-hair-pointy-ears-kink must have started somewhere)

Coffee or tea? I'm a coffee girl, or rather, "Milk with sweetener and some coffee"-girl. But a nice herbal tea is always welcome. And I have like 8 different brands of English Breakfast the in my cupboard.

I think the funniest bg3 thing is Astarion trying to actively dislike kids in act 1 to getting his personal autonomy and hope back to act 3 where if you think about hurting kids in any capacity he'd kill you

I like bloodweave. Okay. But I DON'T like the version of them in fanfic where Astarion is a dick and Gale is like. Whining and pleading for him to be emotionally vulnerable (or just. Nice to him) prior to the relationship being established. Because that is just not accurate. Gale needs the player to express interest in him during his weave-teaching scene before he even considers hitting on them properly. Gale is entirely resigned to his fate and needs someone else to pull him away from it. Gale only starts being sweet and romantic and devoted after you accept his love confession and give him hope for the future. Gale says fuck all and then slinks away to cry privately if you break up with him.

Like he isn't chasing after people lmao. He isn't dropping to his knees and crying about anything much less this dickhead he met a week ago. He is overwhelmingly passive about literally everything personal to him up to and including his own death (provided there are no casualties/there is a good reason) until after the player expresses that they care about him. Astarion is not doing that in any of these fics.

Like Gale is friendly and a dork and doesn't wanna get murdered but he fully has a suicide plan. He thought the artefacts would help him survive but he didn't believe he'd ever truly live again. If Gale confessed and Astarion said/did like one (1) mean thing afterward Gale's romance is closed off forever. He's wandering into the forest to cry. He's killing himself immediately. His fragile ego and self worth can't take it. You have to understand that when we joke about him being pathetic it's not bc he's like. Sopping wet and chasing people down and begging for a scrap of attention. It's because he craves affection but would literally rather die than ask or even hope for it until someone else forces that hope back into his serotonin-deficient tadpole brain.

hi tumblr I am, as many people are, going fucking insane over the silly little vampire man. I was encouraged to post some thoughts I had about him so uh here you go!!

Pre-vampire Astarion had a different kind of style. Different color preferences, clothing, patterns, hair.

Game era Astarion got off the nautiloid like that - which means we can assume he got taken like that - which means we can assume that’s not a style he’s chosen himself but a visual identity he’s been forced into for 200 years that he hasn’t yet found the ability to change

Even when he kills Cazador. There’s not a Shadowheart-esque moment of changing his appearance to reflect his development even though his appearance can be tied even more to the trauma he’s trying to overcome than Shadowheart’s can

Because he’s spent so long not able to be his own person. Not allowed to find his own tastes. There isn’t some identity lurking beneath the facade, waiting to break forth. Cazador broke him down, hollowed him out, made sure there was nothing except what Cazador wanted him to be

So some time post-game.. it starts slowly. He changes his hairstyle first. His family (they are still alive, they’re elves, fight me about it) tries to lay out clothes for him that used to suit his tastes but he doesn’t feel right putting them on it. It’s not the same kind of performative that Cazador demanded from him, but it feels performative all the same. He goes shopping around, he strays from anything similar to what he would have worn during the Cazador era or during his lifetime. For a while it’s anything that catches his eye, trying out whatever he realizes he likes. Sometimes it ends up a little silly. But eventually he does settle into his preferences. Finally something uniquely him, who he’s become and what he’s decided to like.
