To teach me humility, the gods have condemned me to watch you waddle about wearing that proud lion that was my father’s sigil and his father’s before him. But neither gods nor men shall ever compel me to let you turn Casterly Rock into your whorehouse.

“It was a hair net of fine-spun silver, the strands so thin and delicate the net seemed to weigh no more than a breath of air when Sansa took it in her fingers. Small gems were set wherever two strands crossed,”

“I was the oldest,” the prince said, “and yet I am the last. After Mors and Olyvar died in their cradles, I gave up hope of brothers. I was nine when Elia came, a squire in service at Salt Shore. When the raven arrived with word that my mother had been brought to bed a month too soon, I was old enough to understand that meant the child would not live. Even when Lord Gargalen told me that I had a sister, I assured him that she must shortly die. Yet she lived, by the Mother’s mercy. And a year later Oberyn arrived, squalling and kicking. I was a man grown when they were playing in these pools. Yet here I sit, and they are gone."
— Study of an old man; Francois Andre Vincent / A philosopher Looking into the mirror; Jusepe de Ribera / Anguish; August Friedrich Schenck | quotes: The Iron Claw • A Feast for Crows

Bethany Bracken, prior to her execution
"I found her in such lamentation and heaviness as I never saw no creature, so that it would have pitied any man's heart to have looked upon her."
i hath returned from my faraway travels, to post once more...
anyways yeah drew bethany in a slightly diff style than usual! even if shes an awoiaf footnote i am obsessed with her partially bc she is so obviously inspired by catherine howard (my forever fave of henry viii's wives). so yes hope u all enjoy my cornplate fanart. also justice for bracken women!

Rhaenyra: Hey Daemon can you do something for me?
Daemon: I would literally cover up a murder for you, plant my DNA at the scene and take the blame
Rhaenyra: great. Can you do the dishes for me?
Daemon: no

A quote that always warrants sharing. This is the first time I've really enjoyed drawing clothes, which I usually think is tedious. Ned's cloak is a black sheepskin, worn with the fluff on the inside for warmth & traditional Northern designs painted on the skin side. His pants are sealskin. Note that Bran has vibrant, lively color everywhere except his legs.
