#this is my problem with that corner of the fandom

For the follow up questions, I wanna give my two cents on 6. "If everyone only hangs around people who aren't antiblack, why is the space still so overwhelmingly antiblack?" Part of that is bc people are def just bad at judging from the inside whether their group is racist or not, absolutely. No one likes admitting they or the circles they're in are racist, so there's a bunch of ppl who'll do their best ostritch impression and ignore it. But imo part of it is because the ppl who are racist are probably not following this blog or thinking about questions like this. In my experience talking about fandom racism (or sexism) is preaching to the choir, since the ppl who need to hear it rarely run in the same circles as people who care to talk about it. Not always ofc, but if ur the type of person who only thinks about white boys, ur probably not following creatingblackcharacters.tumblr.com, even if u nominally agree fandom racism is a problem. Bc at the end of the day, ur gonna flock to the corner of fandom talking about white boys and nothing else. And if ur the type to actively deny fandom racism is a thing, ur DEFINITELY not following a blog like this. A lot of the time I feel like ppls antiracism efforts in fandom get nowhere not just bc ppl are unwilling to consider they themselves might be racist (THOUGH THAT TOO!!) but also bc the antiracists and the racists genuinely DON'T run in the same circles as much. We just block and/or avoid each other. Which, ofc, makes it even more important to confront racists directly, something I've admittedly not done as much myself. Thinking this through has def made me reconsider that. I wanted to answer this question specifically bc I've driven myself nearly insane over the years asking myself exactly this, very glad to see someone else asking the question and starting this discussion, helped me reach the conclusion that although it may be unrewarding and often unproductive, the only way to combat fandom racism rlly truly is to confront racists directly, individually, on their posts. I obvs don't expect everyone to do this, but I think it might be the only way to pierce their echo chamber.
Hm!

Indeed, all these fanfic(usually on AO3, ff.net funnily enough doesn't have much of them) have the same recycled tropes:
Palpatine dies no thanks to Anakin (usually because of a disgrunted Clone). This is not something I necessarily have a problem with, there are some fun little star wars what-ifs on youtube where Anakin isn't involved in whatever killed Palpatine in said video or even "just waited in the council chambers", and I have always viewed the "Chosen One" prophecy as placing more burden on Anakin and viewed that prophecy in the context of the Prequels as somewhat of a deconstruction of the ultimate heroic prophecy and what trying to push through it can do to peoples' minds, even through it was still fulfilled in the end, and for a reincarnation AU I am planning, I am genuinely planning on Padme delivering the final blow to Palps reincarnation
Anakin reacts with actual disgust to Palpatine dying and can't even accept the fact that he was an evil Sith Lord driving the Republic to fascism all along, he remains an possessive asshole forever, and Padme is just "there", becoming a hyper-flanderized version of how fans perceive her as more focused on whitewashing red flags than as her own person. Like I acknowledge that Anakin might be in shock and denial given how much he was groomed here, but I do think eventually he would be pushed to come to terms, but in these fanfic he never does
They have Luke and Leia and treat them like shit despite the fact that it's very OOC for both of them, like not even Clovis arc went that far and a case can be made that the Clovis arc did have some genuine points to talk about but Filoni really botched the execution.
Eventually the marriage falls apart in a matter of weeks, it gets exposed, political scandal that disgraces Padme and ensures she never rises to elected office again, Padme loses Bail as a friend, Anakin and Padme are thrown in jail over Tatooine while the kids are taken to the temple. Also Obi-Wan reacts with disgust to the secret being out when the ROTS novelization and a deleted line makes it clear that he let it slide because it made Anakin happy. Oh and Ahsoka becomes Obi-Wan's new Padawan. In fact a case could be made that part of the tragedy was that Anakin never trusted Obi-Wan and Ahsoka with his secret and that relationship did not have an external support structure
No one actually tries to reach out to Anakin except bare minimum "dude you're wrong", not even psychological analysis or even "them making trying to reach out to Anakin but he rejects help"
The author's views on Jedi are framed in a very "rubitinyourface" way
Overall like this all feels like low effort revenge porn against Anakin and Padme, whom are flanderized into their worst selves. Like sure what Anakin did on Tatooine was extremely horrible, but the point of his redemption was always "you can't change the horrors of the past, but you can always start doing good" and nowhere is that angle explored when that's a good plot point to explore in a fanfic where he got over his darker tendencies earlier.
Also that section of the fanbase loves to focus on Anakin's culpability in his choices, but all they do is reduce him to a unironic mental psychopath with a literal genetic predisposition to fascism and violence.
Anakin and Padme being asshole parents no matter what in fanfic where Anakin didnā€™t turn evil/fascist are my new most DESPISED SW fanfic trope
Like while Anakin has enough mental issues and posessiveness and will need a lot of time to heal, and it could potentially affect the sort of parent heā€™d be it frankly gets more unnerving if you think about the fact that all this trope pushes is the ableist crap that ā€œsome people are too mentally deranged to even be a parentā€.
Would there be difficulties, sure, but this only shows the fragility of Anakinā€™s mental state over some inherent fascism/psycopathy gene/impulse that Jedi uncrits tend to depict it as.

[ID: three drawings of Five, out of uniform and with slightly longer hair than usual (implied to be post-s3).
In one, he is wearing a trench coat over a suit and sunglasses, and drinking a giant coffee.
In another he is seated at a table looking at a mint chocolate chip milkshake but not eating it. He has his head propped up in one hand and looks tired. He is wearing a blue long sleeved shirt under an oversized, lighter blue t shirt, and cargo shorts. He has a giant ring of keys clipped to one of his belt loops. His hands are wrapped in bandages.
In the last, he is wearing a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and is head down, arms sprawled on a table over several sheets of paper. He is surrounded by a stack of books and two cups of coffee. End ID.]
some light s4 speculation- probably five continues to be very tired but he gets to pick his own clothes about it! in drawing this i convinced myself that five should get to have a trench coat, and also that he should have a giant carabiner clip of keys - for all his siblings' living situations so he can break into their house at a moment's notice, and also steal their car.

One thing about me is I always end up getting more mileage out of media than my friends so I inevitably end up alone in the corner still completely obsessed while everyone else has drifted away

Iā€™ve tried ignoring and forgiving ignorance. Truly, I have. However I can ignore this No Longer- IF YOU HAVE TWO CHARACTERS PINING AFTER THE SAME CHARACTER IT IS A LOVE CORNER NOT A LOVE TRIANGLE!!!!!!!
A love triangle implies that character A is romantically interested inļæ¼ character B, character B is romantically interested in character C, and character C is romantically interested in character A
A love corner means that both characters A and C are romantically interested in character B.
Please learn the difference between them before you post things because you will be contributing to the insanity of the people who do, in fact, know the difference
Thank you āœØšŸ˜˜

Napstabot. Do I absolutely have to call you a they because Iā€™ve been calling you a he but you look like a sheļæ¼
Just wondering if people outside your universe can use what pronouns they want.ļæ¼
I'm not gonna put a drawn response here because this is something I'd like to be serious about: please only use they/them for my version of Napstabot. whether they "look like a she" or any other versions of Napstaton/Swap Napstablook use he/him doesn't matter, those aren't the pronouns my Napstabot uses.
I mean, I can't control how anyone but myself interprets or portrays any character, but referring to the UTDR cast the same way Toby Fox wrote them and respecting canon pronouns is important to me. I will politely ask people not to misgender characters in comments on my art or in my inbox, but I won't just tolerate it when it happens either. my content isn't the place for that.
also to answer one of your other questions here too: I'm sorry but I'm not comfortable with genderbends of my content.

I'm kinda glad Dungeon Meshi stopped being popular because I just couldn't fucking stand the dumbass drama and discourse. Especially since ppl were just fabricating it because there was nothing to argue about in the source material

well, ok. this is (as you know OP) an oversimplification
the V3 fandom did exactly two things. half the fandom believes he Did Nothing Wrong and the other half of the fandom thinks EVERYTHING is his fault
and it doesnā€™t help that the game itself treats it weirdly. like the devs understand that Momota is carrying the part of the narrative that shows what it means to choose the truths that you like and the inevitable death of those comfortable lies youā€™ve been telling yourself, even though yes absolutely they do have their uses. the devsā€¦ seem? to understand that Saihara is undergoing a radical character development across the story where he is evaluating Momotaā€™s and Kokichiā€™s philosophies and deciding that both have worth, both have value.
but he certainly doesnā€™t decide that anything Kokichi did was for the right reasons, the way itā€™s immediately clear with Harukawa and Momota that for all the bad things they do in the latter part of the game, theyā€™re people who are failing against their natures. my point is, the narrative isnā€™t kind to Kokichi. not the way it is with Momota, or Harukawa (no idea how Keebo is on your list there lol presumably out of no fault of his own and more faults relating to the Ultimate Robot). the narrative isnā€™t forgiving, when it comes to Kokichi.
Of COURSE itā€™s bad to set aside all of his moral ambiguity and greyness. that makes him so much less interesting. but, I know that, yknow? I can go find a ā€œwhy Kokichi actually caused every death in V3ā€ essay if I want to, I assure you itā€™s out there. And itā€™s not like this level of character hate or polarization is unique.
But the game works so hard to shine a light on the most evil parts of him. As a Kokichi fan, I try to show the good parts of him, to illustrate why heā€™s morally grey instead of morally black.
it's really funny how ouma was pretty explicitly written as a morally grey character who often did shitty things for a good reason and was ultimately as much of a victim of the killing game as everyone else
and then the v3 fandom went "ah, so this means ouma actually did Nothing Wrong Ever, and the True Evil Irredeemable Villain was maki or kiibo or kaito or everyone BUT ouma" when a big theme of V3 is about, like, moral grayness and characters doing bad things for good reasons
