ficlet prompt: Trinh POV of like. All Of That
'There's danger out there in the stars,' Granmeme always said. 'Maybe it'll be in five years, maybe fifty, maybe in five hundred, but don't doubt my mark, there's danger out there.'
'Yes Granmeme,' Trihn would always say, and then, 'Can I get you some coffee?'
And it wasn't that Trihn didn't believe the elders, exactly. How could anyone who paid a modicum of attention during history lessons? And even if you hadn't, the Adamantine Logo stared back at them from almost every other surface in the colony. Adamantine, the company that had founded the settlement, the company that had abandoned them, and the company which had, maybe, protected them?
Maybe, maybe not. And maybe the colony's existence was still listed out there, on some sort of spreadsheet 20 systems away. Maybe one day people would come looking for them.
But that was literally such a distant concern. Not when the plumbing on level 4 was still intermittently leaking green sludge, not when there were caterpillars in the bok choy beds, not when the lights in the south wing kept flickering.
No, if danger was going to come form anywhere, it would be in their own backyard, first and foremost.
Well, well, well. No doubt Granmeme was wagging mer finger at them from beyond the Great Event Horizon.
"We're so glad to have found you," Supervisor Leonide said, her voice oozing compassion even through the tinny translation software. "When your cousins at the initial base-camp first told us of a splinter group that had gone to found a secondary colony... And that it had been so long before any contact... Well, we were just so worried that something might have happened to you!"
"Why would you have assumed that?" asked Jerail, who's face remained impressively impassive as ze sipped the rich fresh coffee Barrish-Estranza had brought as a gift.
"Oh of course. You wouldn't know." A shocked and concerned expression. "I understand you left due alien remnant contamination at the initial site?"
"In part," agreed Trihn. That's the simple answer, at least. (She sipped the coffee. It was very good. It came from actual beans, not flavoured powder.)
"Well, you made a good choice! Over the last five years, the contamination became much more severe. Physical deformations, behavioural alterations... It's a terrible situation. That's why we're here, to help before it gets any worse."
It could have been a trick. They wanted it to be a trick. But Barrish-Estranza had pictures, videos. Even their expert didn't think they were faked. And this corporate envoy, they'd brought someone from the original colony to vouch for them. That person could have been an actor, except they spoke with a perfect Spirliet accent, and there was something of the Niziral clan in the bridge of the nose, in the shape of their cheeks.
Their claims were real. Some of them, at least.
Others were likely to come, Leonide said. While reasonable people could tell this planet was a wash, some people weren't reasonable. There were always those willing to take risks as they pushed the envelope of science. One needed to be careful when dealing with such risk-takers, lest you get sliced on the cutting edge.
And sure enough, another group came. From a university, they claimed. A smaller team, only four. This one did not come in two shiny fancy hoppers, loaded down with delicacies for the adults and toys for the kiddies. No, the university envoy saddled up in one of the colony's own pilfered hoppers, worn and wary.
The university envoy said that Barrish-Estranza were dangerous, that they were looking for an indentured work-force, that they would enslave the Adamantine colonists so severely that even their children's grandchildren would still be slaves. The university instead offered the colonists ownership of their own planet and/or safe relocation, free of charge.
Barrish-Estranza said that the university's offer was too good to be true, that they had clashed quite awfully with the other colonists and were looking for revenge, that they were looking for a naive population willing to stay behind as lab rats. Barrish-Estranza instead offered fair, gainful employment.
The only thing either group of strangers agreed upon was this: It wasn't feasible for their colonists to stay where they were.
But Trihn didn't want to leave. Of course she didn't. No, their underground bunker wasn't exactly luxurious. It was all grey steel and concrete, everything cobbled together from extra equipment. Yes, there were caterpillars in some of the hydroponics bays, and yes, some of the lights flickered. But wasn't it theirs? Hadn't they built it up over the past thirty years? Hadn't they carved out this sanctuary among the ice and snow? Didn't they have a sleet-ball court, and music recitals, and movie nights?
Wasn't this their home?
Could they really just be expected to leave it?
Opinions were all over the place, the leadership starting to splinter, just like it must have back at the original colony site. Lucia and his faction liked Barrish-Estranza, or at least liked the lifeline they offered. Zenchal's faction didn't trust any of this, didn't trust it one bit, thought they should shut the hatches and burrow deeper. Magnolio's faction went one step further, arguing that they should be opening up the armoury and preparing for a fight.
And Trihn. Trihn just didn't know.
{What do you think, Addy?} she asked the AI which was the heart and lungs and nervous system of the entire colony. It (she, Trihn liked to think of Addy as a she) had been watching monitoring both groups since their initial arrival, as much as she could.
{Hard to say.} Her servers whined slightly under the effort of generating plain human speech. {But I like the university team better.}
{Why?}
For a few second, the only sound was the hard-drives fans in overdrive. {Their SecUnit is friendly. Or acts that way.}
{What does that mean, 'SecUnit'?}
Addy couldn't define it, not really, though she pointed the SecUnit out from their surveillance footage. The tall, serious one with the splicing. Trihn didn't think they looked particularly friendly, but Addy had a different way of judging such things.
This information probably wouldn't do anything to sway anyone. The others were unlikely to be swayed by Addy's opinion; she was just a computer, after-all. But Trihn was less quick to dismiss her, and regardless... It made no sense to reject the university without even speaking to them. She would have to keep pushing the other leaders for a meeting.
In the next meeting with Leonide, though, she did ask, in as casual a tone as she could muster. "What's a SecUnit?"
"A SecUnit?" Leonide blinked, off guard, a rarity. Then she smiled that brilliant white smile. "Oh, just a type of robot, with a little extra something-something for oomph. They're here to keep us all safe." She gestured to her entourage, the armoured soldiers carrying large guns.
Trihn had not thought they were robots. And certainly, the "SecUnit" which Addy had pointed out did not look like a robot.
So that was at least one lie Barrish-Estranza had fed them.
How many more were there?

Thank you!! (To the rebloggers of the CHICON 2007 J2 Breakfast Video)
I’m not sure of the proper Tumblr-ish way to thank all of you who recently reblogged my post, so please let me know if I’m violating some sort of etiquette or doing things in a weird/awkward way.  I tried to put this in a comment on my original post, but I was too wordy!
I wanted to give a big “thank you”, though!  I was kind of thinking this project was just going to fade into obscurity, so I was really happy and surprised to find several notifications when I woke up this morning.  It was so encouraging to see the interest, and I’ve appreciated your comments both in the tags and in the reblog texts, as well as just the fact that you thought it worth reblogging.
The day I posted the Breakfast video, I started on the main Jensen/Jared/J2 panels from the same CHICON 2007 convention.  I figured if nothing else, even if no one else was interested, I’d want to have a complete set.  That will likely be the next thing you see from me, but I’m very slow, especially now that vacation is over, so my output speed won’t be impressive.  I do hope to get faster with practice.
The Breakfast video was my first time ever doing any video editing, not counting one very short and very pathetic attempt a few months ago with free software.  When I did this one, I purchased some proper software and I’ve been learning both the new software and video editing concepts as I go. I'm more of a words person than anything else, so this is way outside my wheelhouse, but it's something I'd been thinking about a lot lately and I thought I'd give it a try. If nothing else, it's fun to learn a new skill. I've found it to be surprisingly absorbing. The skip-meals-because-I-don't-want-to-stop-what-I'm-doing kind of absorbing.
If I do more, my intent was to progress through the cons by date starting from the oldest.  However, I’ve found that some footage is just such poor quality that the upscale process I’m using doesn’t work on it no matter what combination of settings I try.  I could still edit the original videos together as-is and then add subtitles and additional content like what I added here, but I guess people would be less interested if the video quality is too bad.  So I figured I'd skip over the ones I couldn't get a good set of upscaled videos for and focus on the ones where I felt like I could get a tolerable video quality.  Maybe someday either the technology or my skills will improve and I can go back to the ones I skip, or maybe someone else in our fandom with more skill in this area will be able to accomplish more.
(@kerkhofbloemen, unfortunately, it looks like most of the L.A. 2008 footage falls in that category, but I only experimented with a couple of the main videos briefly a few days ago.  I’ll put some more effort into it after I finish CHICON 2007 before I completely write it off as being beyond my current abilities.)
Editing in the extra content has been the most fun part of the process for me.  So many of their cultural references go completely over my head, because I guess I live under a rock!  I had a moment of pure glee when I Googled “Montgomery” to try to figure out what Jensen was talking about when he picked his mic stand up. I immediately saw that Montgomery Gentry photo and burst out laughing because it all finally made sense!
Tumblr media
Thank you very much @blue-chimera @sensitivehandsomeactionman @afacefromamoviescene @soulmates-for-real, @winchestersbaby067 @arwenadreamer @takikojou @kerkhofbloemen @stoneyggirl2 @unepetitefrancaise @jensenbeingjensen !
(I hope I didn’t miss anyone!  If I did, it definitely wasn’t intentional.  The reblog count on my post shows 12, but I only saw 11 names.)

Okay, so here's the thing going on with videos.
Things that are currently complete.
Script (Written by me)
Recordings (For all parties involved which is Star, our other friend, and me)
Art (Drawn by our other friend, colored and edited by Star and me.)
Collection of Evidence (done by Star and me.)
Subtitling and organization of evidence within the video (done by Star.)
Mixing of audio (done by our other friend.)
Things that are not complete.
Editing of this video.
"Why isn't that done?"
That's a great question let me explain.
Issue one,
Poor Communication
This had been an issue throughout the entirety of this team effort but came to a head in an incredibly detrimental way here. It was not expressed to Star or me that our other friend was having difficulties with editing the videos and audio until before Thanksgiving. This is not a fun thing to learn, especially so late. Yet, this is the time this issue was brought to the attention of Star and I, who had completed all the work given to us before this point.
Further exacerbating animosity is the fact that it was communicated to us that we should put all focus on the Amane video and script mid-October which we did. This impacted Star more than me as she was clipping the evidence needed for the Kazui video at the time by request. Meaning they put that on the backburner in order to prioritize Amane's video.
Issue two,
Poor Equipment
Literally what it says on the tin. The only person within our group that has a laptop capable of running the software we need to use to edit the videos smoothly is me. I am not a video editor, Star is in a different country and can't just use my laptop. Our other friend lives in the same area as I do and very much could export the work currently done to a different device and pull it up on my laptop and work from that. However, they do not have the time to come over and do so. So, the speed at which they can edit videos is being routinely hampered by slow running speeds and crashing.
Issue three,
Video Length
The Amane video is over two hours long. This is a massive editting job for one person. Even if the editting has been split between three people and has even expanded to involving another person. Because the one doing the editing of the visuals and audio needed more help. Because again this video is over two hours long without the evidence clips. So please feel free to imagine how long it will be with the evidence.
Issue four,
Inexperience
Again what it says on the tin. For many of the people involved this is their first time working on a project of this nature. Outside of just these videos Star and I (mmostly me) have fucked up numerous times just trying to do let's plays for fun over the last two months. Because there's just not a lot we know about the technical nature behind that process. There's a real learning curve and though this can be fun and exciting under the right circumstances...
However, in a situation where issue one is a consistent problem things get rather stressful. Proper communication is needed when cooperating/working with others in order to avoid leaving people feelings as though they've been left in the lerch and at least give them a bit of forewarning. All the other issues can be navigated around or fixed in time. However, it is impossible to fix an issue that has not been communicated to you as an issue. Now our other friend told us that we should just be transparent about the delay and the issues being faced.
As of now, a timeframe in which the Amane video will be complete and up has not been expressed to me. I just know it's being worked on tirelessly and meticulously by our other friend. Outside of being transparent about the delay and issues being faced. This serves to tell people that when the video does go up it will be outdated. It will be going over arguments that people may no longer wish to interrogate because the trial is over.
For some it may feel like being sore winners because Amane is already Innocent. However this is not the case- The script was written during her trial, the lines were recorded during her trial, the evidence was collected during her trial, the speculation in the video were made during her trial, the comments on other prisoners including Kotoko Yuzuriha were made during Amane's trial and before the release of Kotoko's second album.
This has been months of work on everybody's part regardless of set backs. It's going up still regardless of how some in the fandom may feel about it.

WARNING: IT LOOKS LIKE ELEVENLABS ARE TRYING TO SCAM THEIR FREE USERS
LEGAL BIT: Obviously, I can't make the claim that a large company like Elevenlabs are running an actual, legally-definable con without some clarification. I SUSPECT they're up to some shady shit, but you should read the assertions in the main article as forceful supposition not fact. I do not know them to be fact for certain and cannot claim otherwise. That said, you're not stupid and you can draw your own conclusions. Right, that's my arse covered. Now for the main article.
A lot of small creators nowadays use text-to-voice software to create narration for videos and other projects. I know, because I’m one of them. If you’re not well-off and live in a noisy or hectic environment, these newfangled text-to-voice thingies are an absolute lifesaver. Audio equipment broke down and you can’t afford to replace it? Text-to-voice is the best alternative you’re going to find at short notice. Trying to create content on a noisy council estate, in a busy local cafe or in your car between running errands? Text-to-voice means you don’t have to worry about background sounds. Just too tired to get your words out without turning them into verbal salad? Text-to-motherfucking-voice will see you reet, dawg. And, if you’re looking for TtV software to start a project, you’ll probably come across, and be very tempted by, Elevenlabs. They look great. They use cutting-edge AI to infer emotional tone, so when they read out the script you wrote, it sounds like an actual human is doing it. They have a solid selection of voices to choose from. And best of all, they offer a free plan with 10,000 characters per month, which isn’t a lot but is a real gift for creators who can’t afford to paid subscriptions. Sounds cushty, right? WRONG. Don’t make my mistakes. Don’t have anything to do with these fucking scamlords.
See, the problem is that creators on the ‘free’ subscription tier keep getting locked out of voice generation with a message that tells them ‘unusual activity has been detected’ and ‘the only way to regain access to voice generation is to upgrade to a paid subscription’. Now, Elevenlabs claim they’re trying to block people from using multiple accounts and that this is a necessary security measure. It isn’t. It can happen to anyone at any time, including first-time users who have never been near the site before, people who did have another free account but haven’t used it months because they lost the password (yo) and people who are just trying to create an account on the same computer as their friends or family. It doesn’t often trigger when a new account is created either, but often waits and springs the message and lockout on users who have been logging in and using the site a few times a day for awhile, essentially ambushing people mid-project. I know, because it’s exactly what happened to me. It basically means that, if you’re partway through a project that needs multiple narration files, you can either pay up or be forced to start over. And no, you can’t just create a new account, because the invasive bastards trace your IP address.
Let me spell it out for you: ELEVENLABS IS HOLDING THEIR FREE USERS PROJECTS TO RANSOM. IF YOU DON’T PAY THEM, YOUR WORK GETS LEFT UNFINISHED. THIS IS A SCAM. THEY ARE DELIBERATELY CREATING A SITUATION WHERE PEOPLE ON THE FREE SUBSCRIPTION TIER WILL BE FORCED TO PAY TO FINISH WORK THEY’VE STARTED.
At first, I thought it was just me being luckless with technology, but a quick google revealed dozens of similar stories littering Reddit and teh messageboards.
Now, it’s one thing for a software-as-a-service company not to offer a free tier. That’s their prerogative and, if you know you can’t afford a paid subscription, you just don’t sign up with those companies. It’s a completely different thing for a company to lure in users with a free subscription tier, then lock them out of their own work in the hope of extorting funds from them.
If you’re a creator and you’re thinking of signing up with Elevenlabs: don’t. They will rip you off.
If you’re a creator and you already have a free account with Elevenlabs: finish what you’re working on and then delete it. Or you will get ripped off.
If you’re a creator and you have a paid account with Elevenlabs: finish what you’re working on and then delete it. If they’re fucking over the free users now, it’s only a matter of time before they start fucking over their paying customers. That’s how companies work: if they think they can get away with something and it’ll yield a quick buck, they’ll fucking do it. Don’t be standing near them when the shit hits the fan.
If you’re not a creator, or you just don’t use TtV software, spread the word anyway. Because if you can’t benefit from a heads up, maybe your friends or their friends can. And also because fuck Elevenlabs for getting greedy and trying to scam their own users.
EDIT: I've somehow gotten back onto the site without any login credentials due to what appears to be a glitch. It looks like their knobby little "fuck you pay us" message actually triggered some sort of system error that allowed me to sneak back on unsuspected. Gotta hand it to corpo types. When they shoot themselves in the foot, they use a giant fuck-off space laser.

The search for riches
Guys, I will tell you for free becoming a millionaire is not easy. Yes it is just day two but my brain is fatigued. So I did some research on some online money making avenues, watching youtube videos about how to earn money, trading forex, investing in stock , finding a niche if i wanted to create a youtube channel, a blog, dropshipping kept coming up a lot.
I will say however, it seems most of the money gained online is by making videos on how to make said money online. It is literally such a disgusting get views scheme that even some youtubers I thought had a bit of dignity also participate in this unoriginal money making courses. One of these youtubers should be honest and just say it as it is.
I did take a break to catch up on Charmed, I ended up dreaming about supernaturals for the past 3 days It has been terrifying. I am back on my grind because by day 3 I felt like a proper unproductive bum and started looking back at the past five months and I am not feeling good about myself.
Alright, first of all, I tried downloading a forex trading app and confused is an understatement, I also saw some reviews and they weren't encouraging, I will keep looking into more investment options.
Little confession, I have a YouTube channel. Yes a real one but a flop one. I didn't take my time to learn how to use editing softwares I just jumped right into it and it was a disaster, so this time around I started by doing some research on some niches I can manage; all faceless ofcourse. Oh yes I am very embarrassed of my grind.
Anyway, I went ahead and created a whopping 5 channels with different niches, see which is a perfect match. a sort of experiment.  By the end of this I could even be an experienced digital marketer and social media manager. I am very money hungry right now, literally the only thing driving this grind but for this to work I need to have patience because I am definitely not going to go viral in the first few months so I need to hone my craft and figure this thing out. Also CONSISTENCY CONSISTENCY CONSISTENCY! I am also finally trying to figure out this google adsense
slan.

Having an objective in life
Day 2 - Nov 07, 12.023
Yesterday unfortunately I wasn't able to do my tasks, apparently I used four hours trying to write the last daily journal entry. But whatever, today at least I waked up early.
Do you remember when you were younger and had multiple dreams of creating something bigger than yourself? Things like "I want to be the best in the world at [...]". But nothing you actually did on a daily basis was related to that dream? Would you be someone different, or even someone you actually want to be, if you had followed said dream on a daily basis?
Being lost
Last entry I talked about the history of how I'm trying to return to some type of routine and be able to complete my tasks. And one of my difficulties about that is figuring it out what to do on a daily basis.
Before the burnout, I was just going with some sort of "flow". Every start of a week, I organized from one to two tasks related to my work/programming for each week's day. The tasks were related to the month's project that I wanted to finish, and it was working, but I don't know if it would scale. Some of the reasons of the burnout was because I wanted to finish at least a minimal viable product of the project each month, but one of the problems of programming is that you can't easily guess the time and how difficult a task can be.
I don't know what I want to do daily yet. Even if most of my work is programming, I still have other projects and ideas related to world building, drawing, video creation, etc. And is hard to know how having a formal job will affect everything also. To be honest, I'm scared of losing the interests and creativity that I once had.
A child's dream
When I was around fourteen years old (which is not that long ago), I really dived deep myself on the idea of creating a company. Did I know how companies actually worked? No, in no way shape or form. The only thing I knew was that I wanted to create a company called "A Capital" because the name touched me somehow, it represented and would represent everything that I wanted to create.
Because of it I learned how to design logos and how to use Adobe Illustrator, because this company would have other names and brands under its umbrella and I wanted to each name has it own unique logo; I learned how to use Photoshop for creating banners and profile pictures; I learned after effects for creating motion graphics and animations for said logos; One of my friends wanted to create a YouTube channel for creating histories, and I adopted it under the "A Capital Creators" umbrella, helped him on editing videos, creating trailers, etc.
And even my current profession started because I wanted to create "A Capital Games", and because of it my parents brought a game development course and Game Maker Studio. This course not only taught me how to use game engines, but also how to create your own in Java first (I unfortunately never finished the entire course, but I still learned a lot). My current area, web development, I started with free courses because I wanted to create real websites for this company.
Every single thing of what I am today, is because of "A Capital" in some way.
A silly company
"But what happened to that dream?" I started to view it as how it was said, a child's dream. As I grew up, - and just to be clear, I'm still young, but sometimes just four to five years can really change you, even more when it is your teenagers years - the idea of a global company, with art, games, software, etc. started to feel as silly, even more when it would have just one person in said company for the most part. How a company with more brands than people can be serious?
There are parts of this dream which are still visible in my life. If you ever opened viewed my GitHub profile, I have a GitHub organization called "Lored", which was some type of sister brand for "A Capital Code", but related more to developers than end-user application and software. And all my current branding scheme, with Guz013, Guz's Codes, Guz's Art, etc. is pretty much the same idea, but more personal and related to me as a person, because this seemed less shameful.
However, the name itself, the idea of something bigger than myself, it was pretty much lost. And the thought of creating something to build up over time faded from my mind.
Today's dream
As you probably already guessed, I want to rekindle this dream. But being more honest with myself on what this dream means and is to me.
I want to have primarily a brand, not a company, this dream for me is more about the name and not on how it works on the "real world". My object is to create a name that me, and people, can recognize as something which represents quality, good histories, products, software, art, games, whatever creation ends up being placed under it. This name is "Capytal", and all other names and brands which will be created under its umbrella, "SixSides", "Prata Productions", "Lored", "Elementria", whatever. To be honest, my anxious mind is already worrying about if listing them here can screw me up in the future with things such as domains and trademark registering, but fuck off. "Capytal" is already a name which a lot of investment companies use, so I know that I'm already fucked up.
Will I succeed? Being realistic, probably not, but I need to have a goal in life. And I don't know, maybe one day my dreams of speaking in a conference about a new product come to reality and this entry will be read in some type of 10 years anniversary of the company. But if not, at least I tried.
And don't worry, I don't plan on being another straight white guy which wants to be rich easily and/or have an evil company like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc. I already hate them, and the world is dystopian enough already.
I just want to create something to be proud of.
Today's artists & creative things
Music: Mellissa (Full Methal Alchemist opening) - by Porno Graffitti - Writing this entry made me remember this song. Because for years I tried to remember and find it after listening it on an intro of a fucking sonic flash game on my childhood, and never knew it was a anime opening song.

Madrigal Guardians - My Journey of Game Development
Video games are the amalgamation of innovation, exploration, and the like. In video games, the reality machine strives to build a unified and engaging story that mainly captivates players and encourages active participation in the virtual environment.
In the previous lecture, transmedia narratology also includes video games, where media content and media form are heavily utilized to capture storytelling in the best way possible. As a gamer myself, it is also a feast to understand the storyline properly through the usage of various visual tools and captures that will ultimately decide the player's fate - mainly for the sake of engaging them like hunters looking for prized possessions.
Storytime!
Back in high school, we were tasked to make a simple playable game using Scratch software (a free-to-use game-making and animation software) as a requirement for our Computer subject almost five years ago. As a person who fantasized and daydreamed almost every day at that time, thinking about what could happen if we were to make a Mario-esque game about a group of heroic teenagers ready to save the day? Hence the creation of Madrigal Guardians (FOR REAL!).
Tumblr media
The storyboard of Madrigal Guardians
Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to recover the official game, but this already checked my bucket list because truth be told -- creating a game is hard. My group, composed of a lead designer, a game developer, and a documentation specialist, were all tethered to create such a single game inspired by our Role-playing shenanigans back in first year (high school). We were clung to follow a linear approach in storytelling, specifically about a group of young teenagers (Assumed that all of them are STILL in HIGHSCHOOL), who were tasked and given duties to become the protectors of the land of Roika (The whole world basically), and defeat monsters that would potentially exterminate the humans in the long term. Instead, as I can remember, the main character is immediately greeted with the responsibility of protecting the people and having mini-missions as we continued, using the In Media Res approach in storytelling and narrative meaning-making.
The development of the plot made it essential for the game to move on. My understanding of video game and development were as shallow as a pond, hence it wasn't really that deep and just followed generic story tropes (The hero defeats the villain, saves the day, and finish the game). The complexities of the video game's visuals and game mechanics made it work, and developing a narrative-driven game needs two things: Storyline cohesion and simple and understandable game mechanics.
Understanding the hardships with game development made it really intrinsic to how I now understand media content such as video games. This gave me an emphasis that people have unique ideas to make stories possible, may it be narrative-driven or gameplay-driven. I wasn't treating this requirement as is, but instead, it just gave me the platform to experiment with a narrative-driven game that is only been made from simple software, journeying a world that we once talked about and daydreamed with my friends, making it tangible in the sense that we unknowingly made a world of Roika - a world of our story and make it interactive - a video game.
This fundamentally contributes to my interest in exploring more game mechanics and even creating story ideas for local game developers to pitch and create passion projects. Creativity was the main drive for this project and I hope I get to recreate this again.
Imagine a Dungeon and Dragons roleplaying game where we get to create our own characters and create diverse worlds of storytelling and adventure, implement gameplay mechanics, and establish visuals - That's what I-we, did.

This chapter came out a little longer than usual. lemony teasing
Natsu’s secretary called her boss from the front office. “Mr. Dragneel, Mr. Avatar is here.”
“Thank you, Ms. Kinana. Send him in.”
Because no one in the organization was a computer whiz, he contracted with an independent IT person who was recommended by Yura. The guy, Jerome Avatar wasn’t skittish, didn’t care who he worked for as long as it paid well, and generally had a pleasant demeanor. As the accountant, Yura was in contact with Jerome the most, but for any major issues or changes, those had to be cleared with Natsu first. It was mostly quick, in and out of the office dealings.
Jerome shook Natsu’s hand over the desk before taking a seat.
“So,” Natsu questioned, “what brings you here today? Is there something I need to approve?”
“No, nothing new. I asked for this meeting because I came across some intelligence you might be interested in.”
“Oh?”
“I learned that your rival Heartfilia had been in contact with a new cyber security client, Mikage Kaishā who’s into a lot of shady dealings with government contacts.”
Natsu shrugged his shoulders. “Sounds like just a typical client for her, probably has her launder money for them. I don’t really pay attention to her clients because we deal with different things. But I do appreciate you telling me.”
“Should I keep an eye on them?”
“That’s fine if you believe it’s worth it. And if you learn about anything that could hurt us let me know immediately. By the way, how did you find out this information?”
“A friend in the field told me about it, then I hacked into Heartfilia’s computers to authenticate the information.”
Natsu sat forward in his chair. “You hacked into her computer? I’m surprised her employee didn’t catch that, cause I know she’s good at this stuff too.”
The man grinned. “Well, not as good as me.” He pointed to Natsu’s laptop. “If you’d like, I can set it up so you can access her system from your computer too.”
“Oh, I don’t want to tamper with her company—”
Jerome waved a hand nonchalantly to stop him. “I wouldn’t advise it either, if you touch things, that’s what’ll get attention, but you can watch what’s going on. Keep an eye on her calendar, meeting dates, whatever you want.”
Natsu sat back, rubbing his chin. The offer was a very tempting one indeed. A chance to stalk his ex through cyberspace… someone must have mentioned to this Jerome guy their history. It wasn’t exactly hidden, but not something talked about either amongst lower ranking employees. This wasn’t the first time Jerome had brought them intelligence info, so maybe he was looking to increase his usefulness, climb the ladder so to speak? Being connected to a powerful Yakuza house was certainly handy, and what better way than to tap into such a personal subject.
“That could be interesting,” Natsu finally responded. “Alright, what do you have to do to set it up? And make sure it’s nothing I could screw up accidentally cause I really don’t want her to find out.”
Jerome looked at his watch as if calculating his options. “I could do it now. Might take me about an hour if you can go without the laptop for that amount of time.”
“You have to take it back to your office or something?”
“No,” the man shook his head. “I can do it right here, so I can explain along the way.”
“Perfect.” Natsu then called his secretary and requested she double his lunch order due to an extended meeting.
While the computer tech fiddled, Natsu just sat back with his meal, watching him work. Math wasn’t his strong suit— nor academics for that matter. Growing up, his father had always told him he would be next in line as boss, so he only learned what he needed to for that world. One needed strength, cunning, street smarts, not book smarts. Though he had to admit the things these hackers could do was scary when you thought about it. Lucy was lucky in that her best friend was just a wiz at language— including computer languages. It all looked like gibberish, but the woman interpreted it almost like a savant. According to Jerome, from what he’d seen so far, Levy was not yet at his skill level, but that could easily change with time and experience like he’d been through.
“Natsu you—” Gray paused his knock on the doorframe. “Sorry, I thought the meeting would be done by now.”
“It’s fine, Jerome is hacking Lucy’s system for me right now.” Natsu responded with a grin. “Now I’ll see what she’s up to in real time.”
Gray groaned and ran a hand down his face in disgust. “I’m not even gonna respond to that. But I will tell you I told you so when it blows up in your face later.”
“Tch. She won’t know, right Jerome?”
“She shouldn’t unless you touch something.” The man answered while continuing to type.
“See. It’ll be fine.”
“You’re an idiot. Anyway,” Gray waved a hand nonchalantly as he left, “call me when your free to go over the new orders.”
“It will be fine, right?” Natsu asked Jerome a second time with a bit of anxiety in his tone.
Jerome stopped typing. “As long as you just observe they shouldn’t see you, just don’t get excited and touch something.”
“I don’t plan to; not like I’ll know how to do that anyways.”
“I’m almost finished, but do you want me to turn on her web camera so you can see through it?”
“But she won’t see me?”
“No, for you it’ll just be like watching a one-way video feed with image and audio.”
After a momentary pause, Natsu’s eyes narrowed with a mischievous grin. “Do it.”
Being able to see Lucy every day and feed his addiction was just too tempting, ‘I’m turning into a junky.’ But Gray’s words entered his mind. What if the man was right, could this bite him in the ass later? Probably… Though how bad could it really be? He really had no plans to interfere with Lucy’s business, just her personal life— and yes, he knew it sounded horrible. What right did he have to stalk his ex? None. ‘I just worry about her, is that so wrong?’ Lucy’s tough, but she’s just a woman and their world didn’t always treat women fairly. His desire to protect her bordered neuroticism, but could anyone blame him considering the underworld they worked in. ‘I’m just doing it to protect her,’ Natsu justified it to himself. Guys like Gray who haven’t fallen in love yet, ‘they just don’t understand.’ If anything were to happen to Lucy, he didn’t know what he would do. Probably move Heaven and earth and kill any in his way for what they’d done.
It took just over an hour before Jerome finished installing the spyware and making sure the systems were still secured. Just a one-way mirror that Levy shouldn’t catch unless really digging for it. Another 20 minutes were spent explaining to Natsu how to do the accessing part, including pulling up the webcam whenever he wanted to. “Or just leave it running,” Jerome noted. “It’ll just show up in this window,” he pointed towards the screen, “and as long as you don’t log out completely from your computer it’ll stay open.”
“Who turns off their computers?”
“Actually, it’s a good idea to turn them off now and then so any software updates can be completed, but since I manage your systems, there’s not really a need to.”
“Great.” The two men stood up and shook hands. “Thanks, Jerome.”
“It was my pleasure.”
When Natsu arrived each day at headquarters, the first thing and last thing he did was check to see if there was anything new or interesting going on Lucy’s side. It was like being hooked on one of their products, because the high it gave sucked him right in. But so far, he also stayed away from the video feed. Looking through her calendar or emails were cold and impersonal, but maybe the video was too close, too real, too much of a moral dilemma in crossing that line of a peeping Tom. That didn’t mean his addiction may one day require more feeding…
October had rolled around, and the air outside grew crisp and cold. It was a beautiful time of the year with the color changing leaves, reminding that winter was soon upon them. How quickly the time sure flew. The Dragneel Yakuza clan had already started preparing for their end of year Bonenkai to happen in mid-December. This plus the Shinnenkai in January were the two biggest parties the clan threw for all their members. The first is to forget the stresses of the past year, while the other was to welcome a successful new year. Natsu spared no expense on the food and drinks to take care of the loyalty and hard work their members contributed. From the emails, he knew that Lucy’s group had also started preparing for theirs. ‘Maybe I’ll crash her party,’ he mused to himself. ‘Oh, what’s this?’ His eyes fell on a new email of an appointment reminder for the next day. It was for Lucy’s monthly massage at an upscale spa. Natsu checked his own calendar and noticed he had nothing booked, no meetings, no shipments arriving— a perfect opportunity.
The next day, Natsu went to the spa early and spoke directly to the owner, paying them a nice chunk of change to allow him access and to play along. Lucy was scheduled for 2pm and arrived right on time. So, as he waited behind the scenes, the receptionist acted like normal and directed her inside. She had a regular masseuse, something Natsu knew he couldn’t fake upfront, so that person stood inside the room to greet her.
“Welcome, Ms. Heartfilia. I’ll step out while you get ready. Please lie on your stomach like normal.”
“Thank you, Kenji,” Lucy smiled. She’d been coming here for a couple years and was aware of the routine. The male masseuse had strong, but gentle hands and knew her body well by now.
Natsu had to admit he wasn’t happy to find out Lucy’s regular masseuse was a guy but held back from lashing out. He didn’t want to do anything to mess up this adventure— and oh, he planned to have his own revenge. It wouldn’t be as sexual as the soapland incident but knowing many of her trigger points meant he could do a bit of damage well enough. Now, Natsu had noted that Kenji’s voice was a bit deeper than his own, which would be difficult to fake, but the man explained he didn’t do much talking while working and played relaxing music during the session. Perfect. Natsu could just hit play and not talk at all.
“Ready, Ms. Heartfilia?” Kenji called out through the closed door.
The muffled yes was heard, and the man stepped away, leaving Natsu to his business. He entered the room and immediately turned on the pre-set music, a light instrumental with Asian undertones. It was quite pleasing to listen to. And there Lucy was under a silk sheet to cover her naked body, with her arms up and crossed, head perched on the relaxed hands, and hair up in a loose bun, revealing her beautiful neck. Natsu almost shuddered at the sight and knowledge he would get to touch her skin… it was the one thing she didn’t allow him to do at Soapland— touch. His grin grew as he rubbed his hands together to warm them before making the first move.
He moved the sheet to uncover Lucy’s lower half, up to the thighs, then applied a film of scented massage oils to his hands with a few drops over the taut muscles along her long legs, chasing the dripping liquid along her skin to smooth them over. His hands glide through several passes to the swell of her ass, then back down again all the way to the ankles, fingers applying pressure against the tendons and ligaments to gently work out any tension it encountered. Lucy sighed wispily as his hands massaged each foot, squeezing, smoothing, paying attention to each digit and every curve. His thumbs applied pressure at the arches, kneading the tight knots there from wearing heels all day long. He stayed focused on the area, her toes curling and flexing as the mewls leaching from her show their pleasure, until Natsu felt the knots give and relax away.
“Mmm, you’re getting good at that Kenji,” Lucy purred with a little huskiness in her tone.
Natsu grinned to himself as he lowered the sheet back down, so she stayed warm and moved onto her supple ass. Using both hands, he took his time to knead each cheek through the silken fabric, using his fingers to follow the gluteus muscles, starting near the leg, and following the swell of her curve upwards, slowly riding the fibers looking for any knots or tense areas. One cheek, then the other paying loving attention to and listening to the sounds Lucy made to clue him in on where to go. Every sigh a notch in his belt, each mewling purr a win. Natsu grew bolder, fanning out his thumb each time it got closer to her thighs to touch…
“Oh, Kenji,” Lucy whined, “you’re being a naughty boy today— keep it up.”
‘What?!’ Natsu’s hands paused and tensed for a split second before catching himself. Does Kenji mess with her too?! He shook his head and finished up in the area quickly trying not to let such thoughts stop him. ‘Just focus…’ Natsu grumbled in his head.
After applying more oil to his hands, he moved the sheet down to reveal Lucy’s back and for a second time, Natsu paused on what it contained. Her tattoo… It symbolized… he took a deep breath and dropped more oil on to the skin, willing away the memories breaching his mind. He didn’t want to think about it, not now. It was too painful.
“You okay, Kenji?” Lucy questioned as if noticing the slight pause or tremble in the man’s hands.
Natsu mumbled a soft Mmhmm and dived into the massage so Lucy wouldn’t grow more concerned, missing the uptick in the corners of her lips. He slowly smoothed along the skin using the base of his palms for pressure, each hand following the muscles, moving out from the waist, up the center of her back, and flaring out towards the sides just below the shoulder blades, repeating the same movement, each time increasing the speed while lessening the pressure. Next, he targeted the upper back and shoulder blades, an area he knew Lucy held a lot of tension from carrying the weight of her voluptuous bosoms. With precise ministrations, Natsu applied careful pressure with his thumbs and follows the curve of the blades up and around to the top of the shoulder. He then searched with the pads of his fingers for any knots along her trap muscles, moving up along the spine and fanning out to the top of her shoulders.
“Oh, yeah, right there,” Lucy mewled when he reached a specific spot.
The area around her spine, between the shoulder blades held the most tension and knots from constantly holding the upright, flexed posture that wearing heels will create. Her wispy sighs signaled the release of her tense muscles, bringing another wave of pride swelling in him. Natsu continued onto her neck, his strong hands kneaded the supple flesh, fingers palpating and soothing all the knots. Her neck too, held a few tense areas, especially around the base of the head, so he did his best to melt them away. He worked through Lucy’s mewls and moaning sighs, almost sexual in nature, aroused and a little heated in the face knowing his handiwork brought forth such sounds. Ugh, how he wanted to hear more of it! Lucy putty in his hands and spread between his thighs, calling out his name…
“You’ve gotten better at this… Natsu,” the cocky teasing tone, snapped him out of his dream.
“Natsu?” He tried failingly to disguise his voice. “I’m Kenji, Ms. Heartfilia.”
“Uh-huh. You think I can’t tell the difference Natsu?” Lucy quipped back with a chuckle. “Kenji’s routine is very different. Plus, I knew the moment I smelled your cologne.”
Busted.
“Tch. Well, if you knew it was me all along, why’d you let me do this?”
“Making you work is my payback.” She settled back down, relaxed on her arms. “Now, chop, chop, finish the job.”
This little minx! He was the one supposed to be torturing her this time, not the other way around! “Fine, kitten.” Natsu gritted out a smile and took hold of her neck again to placate and lull Lucy back into thinking he would go along. He massaged the sides with the tips of his fingers Both hands wrapped around, and his thumbs pushing up through her hair against the muscles on the back of her head.
“If only you’d taken care of me like this before,” Lucy mumbled.
Natsu paused and leaned over her ear. “Why not let me take care of you now?”
“You know the answer to that.”
“No, I don’t know the answer, that’s part of the problem!”
Lucy sighed. “Natsu, I don’t want to fight right now. I’m here to relax, not fight. If you’re done, then leave and send Kenji back in.”
“Oh, yeah. Why? Because he’s another one of your boy toys? He gonna be naughty again with you once I leave?!”
“Pfft, I said that knowing it was you, idiot.”
“I think you live to torture me, Angel. But you’re right. I don’t wanna fight right now either, so—” Natsu leaned down quick and latched his mouth onto the area between her shoulder blades, sucking hard.
Lucy squealed and reached back frantically trying to claw at his face, but he grabbed her hands, knowing if she struggled any harder, she risked completely exposing herself. He held her for a few seconds, and once satisfied he’d achieved his goal, let go.
“Natsu! Did you put a hickey on me?!”
“This Angel,” he trailed his fingers over Lucy’s tattoo as he spoke, “belongs to me. Will always be mine,” he whispered close to her ear. “You know it, I know it, and your boy toys will know it too.”
“I hate you.”
“Nah,” Natsu stood up and covered her back up with the sheet. “You hate that you don’t hate me. It’s okay. I still love you too. See ya around kitten.”
Natsu heard the woman’s sigh as the door closed behind him and smiled to himself. He knew she didn’t actually hate him, their relationship was just complicated at the moment, never love the actual problem between them… Though, it had been a dick move to give her a hickey, but that’s what Lucy gets for leading him on like that. She could’ve just stopped the massage immediately if she knew it was him all along, so to let him go through the entire process, it was tit for tat— and hey, at least it’s only temporary.
‘It’s your move next kitten…’

💜💜💜HI FROM PG💜💜💜
💜💜💜HI FROM PG💜💜💜
Hello there everybody! I thought I would send a message or a post and just let you all know that I miss you and I miss being a very active part of Skippy‘s blog!!
I had my second vaccination the Astrazeneca on Tuesday and had my doctor assessment yesterday and my arm is getting better it’s still is not 100% so I am taking it low and slow and using the dictation software. I know so many of you have left messages such kind words of love and support and I really really really appreciate them! And I want to say a special message to💜🙏🏻💜 CHERUB, 💜🙏🏻💜you know that you are  in my  prayers every single day. Jesus is with you he will never leave you or for sake you no matter what happens. I will be back probably in another week I think with if my arm continues as it is progressing.
Now I have a few things I wanna say about what’s happening here first I wanna say the visit to Scotland was a rousing success and as usual our Catherine slayed Fashion wise and interpersonal skills wise! I saw someone write a comment that they didn’t like her in the brown and the khaki but I had commented a couple of weeks ago when she wore that beautiful camel coloured coat that I wish she would wear browns and taupes more often so I was just elated to see her wear those long wide leg pants that were hemmed exactly as they should be not dragging on the ground! I just think that this couple can do no wrong and they both very well for the future! Now I am not biased by my affection for the Cambridge is at all ha ha Ha! By the way I received my Hold Still book this week and I also received from Royal Mail Her Majesty’s at 95th birthday stamp first day cover and coin which was reasonably price I think £20? Anyhow the book is very substantial and because of my left arm being the way it is I have yet to be able to look at it because it’s quite heavy and it is a huge book, but I am looking forward to the day when I can hold it and I can enjoy looking at the pictures! Again I say Catherine kudos to you on your fabulous projects! Catherine I also wonder if you’re stealing my word wowza because when you met with Mila for tea, you said wowza as she showed her dress twirling. I’m wondering are you borrowing from PG?? Aka me?? 😂😂😂🤣🤣Catherine you are most welcome to share the word while that I think we are the only two people on the planet that still say it ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!
OK now onto our Harry. Heads together in the UK and many other mental health organizations around the world are doing fabulous work. CBT or cognitive behavioural therapy, cognitive restructuring, EDMR, Hipnosis, that’s spelt wrong but hey I’m dictating hypnosis is spelled HYPNO either we go anyhow those are all legitimate therapies done when they’re done by trained professionals! One thing that has always driven me crazy about Oprah and Dr. Phil who is her who is her surrogate,  is they do mumbo-jumbo therapy on tv and have people share their just horrific interpersonal stories with an audience and a television audience! It just it just sickens me to make people so vulnerable for attention and ratings and money and advertising! When I saw Harry doing the tapping and whatever I just felt whether he was doing it for real or whether he’s towing the line as I believe it is just so wrong to show somebody at their most vulnerable!! It just sickens me.
However let’s let us ask ourselves why is this happening now? When ‘her’, l will continue to use the descriptor ‘her’ was doing all the talking a.k.a. lying because every time her lips move we know she’s lying and now she’s been silent. But for the last well since about the time that the Duke of Edinburgh passed away Harry allegedly has flown back to the to the United States where apparently he’s lived for two years one article said which surprises me but anyways what what’s truth and in articles. And he has been everywhere good morning America that all these Apple things with Oprah and celebrities and doing this and that and the other all for mental health!
You know sometimes it’s too much of a good thing. There’s a lot of excellent organizations in Canada there’s a CMH a Canadian mental health Association all over the world. But this constant stream of video and him in our face that’s not normal and the things he saying or lies and their provable lies that they’re not difficult at all. This is NOT NORMAL! IT IS A DELIBERATE OVERSATURATION FILLED WITH SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES IN THE VIDEOS, TRUST ME, SUBLIMINAL MESSAGES IN ADVERTISING IS REAL. TAKE A MAGNIFYING GLASS TO A FASHION MAGAZINE AND LOOK CLOSELY. YOU WILL BE AMAZED WHAT IS EMBEDDED IN THEM. JUST LIKE THE DISNEY VIDEOS THAT WERE SHOWN TO HAVE ADULT DRAWINGS.
In knowing Harry’s dedication to his Queen, his grandmother and his grandfather why on earth would he pick the first few days after the funeral to dig in like this and go so public? Why? We really must ask ourselves why? I will tell you why he is continuing to expose evil! There are all kinds of organizations that I’m not gonna name any “churches” some start with the letter S which many celebrities are members of Tom C is one. These organizations manipulate people and just like the NIXVM did in Canada. These backers are evil people and they’re willing to use people for anything in anyway at any purpose. The last picture I saw of Harry it was a video but I didn’t watch the video he looks so pale and so gaunt and so unwell that even though I believe he is doing the right thing and exposing all this and eventually hopefully eventually this will wrap up with him being free and everyone brought to justice let’s hope and pray, this is taking a terrible toll on him an absolute terrible toll. I have to again harken back to London scoop, everything has come to pass that she foretold way back several years ago when she came upon this information about this plot. I did a post one post last week where I propose the thought that the plot to integrate the British royal family began in the 1990s with princess Diana and I still believe that. I don’t know all the reasons or who the people would be but things things are just smelling very funny very very funny and I don’t mean funny as in laughter I mean funny as an off off off off!!!
So I say let us continue to pray for our Queen her family pray for the Cambridges, that they all stay safe and healthy the whole family to especially pray for Harry, whether do you think he’s doing his duty or you think he’s fallen under her trap and has become some whimpering child, pray for him all the more then because he needs it. If you really believe that he is he is doing this on his own free will because he’s mesmerized by her or he is woke and has become part of the woke world my goodness he needs more prayer than ever! To be released from these bondages!!
OK kids that’s my more than my two cents worth! As you all know it’s never one word thing with me I am very elaborative! I miss you all miss you and you all know who you are! Take care sending you all my love and prayers, PG!! I beg you all please don’t forget about me because I shall return I shall return!
To my dear Skippy, thank you for always being there. Thank you for relay messages. Most especially thank you for this safe space, your friendship and your prayers.
To my MM Anon/ Kensington Anon, thank you so much for your kind messages of love and support I have really appreciated it. I just feel like I’ve let everybody down by not being able to do the stories about the Cambridges. But I shall return soon hopefully in a week I’ll see how my arm is but it’s getting better hopefully in a week. I hope this finds you well, I hope you read this I don’t know if you ever checked my blog but if you do you will see this here.
💜🙂🙏🏻✝️💟PG💟✝️🙂🙏🏻💜

Hello! I have a thing I would like to share. But it's kinda spoilery for the fics I wrote. ( https://archiveofourown.org/series/2490391) (The spoilers for ch. 11 of This is a Story Starring The Narrator, if you're from the future when I have written more...)
But if you have read them or do not care for spoilers, here is some concept art for my design for The Narrator.
Would you look at that? A low quality animation! Of The Narrator (AI)!
I'm not very happy with this, but it gets my concepts across and I am not used to the programs I used to make this... Did this in like only 2 days too.
Anyway, yeah! He is a little audio waveform graph creature. AI. Thing. I would have made this better if I could, with the orb in the middle bouncing around a bit, but the software I used for the waveforms either does not allow for animation like that, or I haven't figured that featue out yet.
Another thing I can't represent either is that the "spokes" outward are like, appendages he can move. Strecht em out, to get audio files (others too) and rearrange them.
Also, this isn't how he actually looks... He just looks like real mysterious code... Who knows how sentient AI code would look? Since I know nothing about how to code, exept basic concepts, in addition to that code is probably not super fun to look at... Have this!
I want to make a better version of this, now that I know how the programs I used work... But that will have to wait for later.
Speaking of the programs I used here they are: (they're all webbased, free and without watermarks*)
1. A program that could crop yt videos and make em into mp3. Are alot of them out there, mostly all the same to me
2. https://vizzy.io/ To make the soundwaves! It's a lovely programto messa around in, took me some time, but I figured it out! I put in the mp3 file I got previously, and then made this into a video.
3. https://www.wickeditor.com/ To make the eye animation! Program Has awesome tweening tools, makes animating "Vector based" (The program is weird with scaling, doesnt scale lines like other vector programs do...) stuff move pretty simple, has a couple bugs tho. (quick tutorial on the tweening if u also want to use this cool program https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiTimi02PEg). Used it more for Stanley. Anyway, made the animation, turned the canvas transparent, exported it as an image sequence.
4. https://ezgif.com/maker Simple gif maker. Put in the image sequence, selected 5 delay and 'dont stack frames' and got the gif and saved it to my computer. (this whole making transparent gif thing also has a quick tutorial, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXl_6wSOwM0 )
5. https://www.kapwing.com/video-editor Here I put the gif and the video together! It's a simple editor. Pretty good. exported the video. (*You need to make a free account to remove the watermark from this one. But it's free, as stated before.)
That was my process. Now I can maybe post doodles of them, without worrying that people might not understand the design because it isn't in motion.
Will make another post for Stanley shortly, tumblr only allows one video per post.
(Also, will take a bit of a break before writing the 3rd part of the series... Wanna daydream up a bit more of the plot and theirnew dynamic first... and I have an animation of an original creation that I wanna make too... Am in an animating mood.)

[Kingdom Hearts] Of Memes and Regrets
Summary: In which Lea has a guest star for his YouTube's next Let's Play, and she perfectly steals the show from him.... again. [oneshot][platonic LeaxOC (AxelxOC)]
Rating: K+
Word Count: 2,412 words
If you liked this story, please reblog!
---
Lea glanced at the timer placed by his monitors and nearly tisked at the time.
She was late.
With a rather tired sigh, Lea started to work on making sure his software was still working right. Maybe while he was fiddling around with stuff, Sabrina would join the video chat so they could get a session done. He knew he should have asked Roxas to join again. Xion would be great to bring in too, if she wasn’t too busy working on her next article for her school’s paper. But alas, his subscribers had spoken, and they wanted Miss Priss and her insatiable need to annoy everyone. Especially him, apparently.
Not that he could blame them, she was great on camera.
Lea hummed as he booted up the game they were going to play. It was a review copy he had gotten a few days back, and he was actually looking forward to bumping it. He would be the first to admit to not being a big fan of the original franchise, but the graphics were crisp and the controls were smoother than butter. He knew Sabrina would have an appreciation for it too; as far as he could tell, the female characters were dressed sensibly- not at all designed just for the male gaze. They could have some fun talks about it when she got here. If she got here.
With the game running as expected, Lea started screen recording. He got a few minutes down before turning on his webcam as well. His face appeared on the screen to his left, with the game and recording software on the right. It was a good time to adjust lights while he was at it. Once that was settled, he began recording from the webcam as well. Lea admired himself in the webcam feedback for a moment. It was always better to overshoot, even if you weren’t really doing anything more than vocal warmups and adjusting your lighting.
Lea cleared his throat a bit before going through with his intro. He kept his tone bright and energetic. It was bad form to go in this early at full blast, but if Sabrina wasn’t going to remember their agreement, then he’d have to make due.
“Hey everybody, welcome back to AxelotlGaming! I’m Axel, and we were going to have a guest. Turns out she’s not coming, because at this point, we are well past being fashionably late.” Lea moved a bit away from the mic before grumbling, “It would’ve been nice if she actually bothered to tell me when she wasn’t coming. Could’ve been halfway through a recording by now.” He grimaced before remembering that he was still recording, so he turned back to the camera with a wide grin. He realized he was going to cut out a lot of his annoyance in editing later if he kept this up. The show always goes on, and whatnot.
“With or without our guest,” he went on to say to the webcam, “We’ve been sponsored to play the new-”
He hated to admit that he jumped when the ping for someone joining the video chat chimed. Lea quickly ended his recording softwares and accepted the newcomer. A new face appeared on the same monitor he kept his webcam feedback on, and he grimaced at seeing them.
“You’re late.” he huffed. He swiveled his car a bit just to glare at her feedback directly. Lea then almost proceeded to get knocked out of his seat looking at her.
Sabrina was a natural beauty and knew it. She was always light on her makeup regimen unless she was going to be seen on video or photograph. Today she did not plan on disappointing; her lips were painted a deep red, her cheeks the faintest of pinks to give the illusion of being an absolute sweetheart, and even the color around her eyes make them look more expressive. It was rather impressive- she must have worked on that for a good hour just to make sure she didn’t look like a raccoon.
“And now you realize why I’m late.” Sabrina smoothly told him, folding her arms with a smirk on her face. Even through the webcam, she looked so in control of everything. Lea didn’t know if it infuriated him, or was genuinely impressed.
“Yeah, yeah,” he said with a wave of his hand. “But know this, princess; just because I have an arguably easy job on paper, it doesn’t mean I don’t keep a schedule too. Got it memorized?”
“Just hire an editor.” she told him in the least of caring tones.
“No way!” he argued back. “I’ve got a certain method to my madness, and I’m not going to have someone else get their fingerprints all over it.”
“What a funny way of saying that no one else is as deranged as you.”
“Enough talk,” Lea then said to her with a clap of his hands, “We should be halfway through a session by now. Start up the game and make it snappy.”
Sabrina gave him a little wave of her hand before doing as she was told. She must have known how late she was- usually when someone told her to do something, her instinct was to react with the opposite. As she did that, Lea also went over his recording equipment and made sure he was recording as well.
“I’m ready when you are,” he decided. “Are you recording everything on your end?”
“Looks like it.” she agreed. Her eyes looked elsewhere for a moment- likely to check if everything was running smooth enough. When her eyes went back to the webcam, she settled back a bit in preparation for the next hour or so of recording.
“Are you doing the intro today?” she asked, gently placing a hand under her chin.
“My show, isn’t it?” Lea smirked. Knowing that she was ready meant it was time to start recording again. About time, too.
“Alright princess, put on your video face.” he warned her. “We’re getting serious in three… two…”
Both of them shifted in their spots slightly to appear more presentable. Lea gave them a few more moments of getting comfortable before going through his intro.
“Hey everybody, welcome back to AxelotlGaming! I’m Axel, and today I’ve got a very special guest. Special guest, why don’t you introduce yourself. Not that you need it, of course.”
“Of course.” Sabrina smoothly agreed, even twisting a piece of her hair. She looked at the webcam before giving a double wave to it. Her voice carried a perkiness never seen before as she said, “Hey guys! You asked for me, so here I am! Your favorite Lady Sabi here to show up, ah, I mean, play with Axel today.”
“So humble.” Lea playfully retorted. Sabrina only gave a wide -rather smug- smile in return.
“What are we playing today, Axel?” she cheerfully chirped. For a moment, Lea wondered if he was friends with a bubbly airhead instead of a pessimistic downer.
“We’ve been sponsored to play the new Blue Bomber MMO called ‘Renegade Chaser.’” he said, gesturing his hands to the side. He’ll edit in the box art during post. “Designed with old and new fans alike, Renegade Chaser can be played online and off with both multiplayer and single player modes.”
“Sell out.” Sabrina coughed into her hand.
“Yeah, well,” Lea mused, “Not all of us get free stuff just by looking pretty on Instagram. Of course, with almost a million followers at PrincessSabiAes2012, you’ve almost got enough influence to carry this channel on your own.”
“Nice plug.”
“Why thank you.”
“Bad rep for you though.”
“Why thank you.”
Sabrina let out a genuine laugh at his misfortune. But this was the kind of repertoire his subscribers enjoyed between them. Just hearing her laugh gave him a vision of a future comment along the lines of ‘hearing Sabi laugh at Axel adds 9,999 years to my life.’ Too bad the actual object of Sabrina’s -disguised- affection wasn’t on YouTube much, let alone have an account. Which was all for the best- he didn’t want to admit it, but Ventus got jealous real easy. Embarrassingly easy, depending on who you asked.
“Now that you’ve harassed me and we’re not even a minute in, how about we pop into game and see what we’ve got?”
“Let’s.” Sabrina agreed with a sweet little nod.
Lea stole a look at her as she adjusted some things on her end to make sure her game footage was being recorded. Lea chastised himself for being so focused on her. He needed to stop getting distracted by her Clark Kent-ing her onscreen persona. But the switch was just so… uncanny, to put it in the nicest terms possible. There’s no wonder that despite her near million followers, Sabrina had yet to be recognized by any of them in person.
Lea shivered before continuing with his show. Two minutes of recording down, another 58 to go.
. . .
You could tell Sabrina was having a hard time getting used to the game because for ten straight minutes she did nothing but harass Lea instead. Not that it wasn’t to be expected- she was a puzzle girl, not a shoot-em-up girl. That being said, once she figured out the controls, she was nigh unstoppable. She even managed to figure out the special weapons before Lea could. Of course he called her a cheater for it. As long as it was in good fun, who really cared- right?
Another disorienting thing about Sabrina; she kept going from her usual snark to bubbly sunshine in mere seconds. The true (or as true as she wanted to be) part of her came through when she was at her most frustrated. It was yet another thing that his regular viewers came to appreciate of her. A lot of viewers really hated her bubbly self, even though it was arguably when she dished the most one-liners. Lea knew she was actually having a good time when she let the side of her he usually saw come through. That little lady knew how to be a savage and thrived in it.
One such occasion happened during this session. While the two were playing around with the various modes the game had, Lea had found a one-on-one free-for-all that the two took to immediately. Sabrina got so into beating him that he had to talk directly to her or else all commentary would have gone flat. Every word that came out of Sabrina’s mouth was straight from her mind, with no conscious censoring in the slightest. Lea feared so much for her that he intentionally threw the match. He did put up a fight- but it was definitely one of their shorter matches. Sabrina didn’t seem to notice as the victory screen appeared for her.
“Yes!” Sabrina gleefully declared, slamming her hands into her desk before giving her chair a spin. As the chair slowly came to a halt, she threw one of her hands over her head and gave an absolutely satisfied expression.
Lea knew right away that the moment his viewers saw that reaction, there were going to be memes of it. He could practically see them now- a really poor screenshot of that slightly worrying pose she was making, Impact font saying stuff like 'when bae buys you tacos without asking' or 'when Lea's such a moron and makes winning easy.' He'd have to ask her for her footage. He could emphasize the moment to help make some of those insufferable jpegs look slightly better.
It wouldn't have been so bad, but Sabrina was already the source of one of his channel's memes. 'Scrub my feet, peasant' was a line uttered during one Monopoly match that did not go in Lea's favor. Sabrina had also made a rather memorable pose in her chair, coupled with a rather smug face. It became so popular that Lea had to get her permission to make it into a t-shirt. Both Sabrina and his viewers had yet to live it down; Sabrina wearing the shirt anytime she knew the two of them would be in the same room together, and his viewers still made comments that referenced the line.
Good thing she was more of an Instagram queen and not a YouTuber. Lea would probably lose half his subscribers the moment she actually posted videos of her own.
“Heh, I let you win, my lady.” Lea boasted. This realization came to Sabrina with a slow grimace.
“You did.” she said in disappointment. She then smirked at him (not at the camera, but him directly on the screen), before spitting, “There are other ways to flirt with me than making me look superior to you.”
“Oh yeah?” Lea snorted. “Like what?”
Sabrina then smirked like she was taking on a challenge.
“Oh Axel,” she purred into her microphone. Almost immediately, Lea could feel the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. “If you wanted a mistress to teach you how bad of a boy you are, you could have just asked. This doesn’t have to be hard.” She paused for a moment, just to make it dramatic. “Unless you want to be…”
Lea was dead certain that his soul left his body for a hot second. His face absolutely betrayed him, though. He looked away just to hide how red it was.
“Oh well, just look at the time.” Lea decided, already reaching for the keyboard key to finish the recording. “We’re all gamed out for the day. Thank you for watching!”
“But Axel, we still have ten-”
“Thanks for watching!” he loudly declared before smacking the keyboard key. Not long after, his head hit the desk in both relief and frustration.
“Are you alright?” Sabrina questioned, a teasing smirk still on her lips.
“God I hate you.”
“You gonna be alright with that nosebleed?”
“Shut up.” Lea whined.
Sabrina just laughed at him. To rub salt into the wound, she ended the video chat mid-laugh. It was far too effective in leaving a phantom image of her on his mind. Lea let out another groan as he thought about his viewers’ reaction. This was going to be an episode to remember, he had no doubt about it. It was likely going to fuel even more rumors that the two had the hots for each other- which was the last thing he wanted.
He really needed to stop inviting her back.

'I spent the last few years looking for a low-cost way to track inventory at an elementary school I work at. Most apps that seemed like they “could” get the job done, all had considerable subscription costs, and were therefore not going to work with a School’s budget. My goal was to find an app that allowed me to use the camera on my iPhone to scan the barcodes that our school uses to identify our assets to either add the item, or search for it later. Several apps that even had this, the barcode scanning was limited, not always that accurate, or didn’t allow to scan on both data entry as well as searching for it. I first downloaded TapForms on my iPhone, and as I explored through the app, I started to see that it had the features of many these ultra-expensive apps as well as features they did not have! Not only was I able to complete a full inventory in 10% of the time it took with paper, but now this year, I’m expanding all that data I collected last year, and presenting in a nice way that I can start keeping track of other things in each room that were not part of my required inventory. Many other apps I tried, if you wanted to change the form after collecting the data, it messed it all up, and I would have to re-inventory after making any adjustments to the forms. Tap Forms has blown me away in how much it can do, and I’m now buying the Mac version to expand what I can do with it a little further (printing barcodes from the records I’ve collected). This truly is a very versatile app, and it has made inventory an absolute breeze! Thank you for making such a great product, and selling it at such an accessible price.'

My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes Mission is off to a plus ultra start at Japanese theaters. While most of the metropolitan areas of Japan are currently in a State of Emergency for record COVID-19 cases, thanks to the Delta strain, World Heroes Mission managed to increase its box office takings 200.2% over the previous film in the franchise My Hero Academia THE MOVIE Heroes: Rising.
Over the first four days of release, which was a long weekend in Japan thanks to Mountain Day being moved for the Tokyo Olympics Closing Ceremony, World Heroes Mission made more than 940 million yen (US$8.52 million) on 720,000 tickets sold. Heroes: Rising, over its entire box office run, made 1.79 billion yen (US$15.1 million), less than double what World Heroes Mission made in one weekend.
On its first three-day weekend, Heroes: Rising earned 422 million yen (US$3.86 million), and surpassed the lifetime gross of the first film, Two Heroes, in its 9th weekend. It's likely that the third film will be highest grossing for the franchise by the time its run ends.
Tumblr media
On the first day of the film's release, World Heroes Mission earned 310 Million Yen (US$2.8 million) at the Japanese box office, nearly the same as Heroes: Rising's first weekend, signalling just how popular the film would be with audiences. ✌ STREAMING MEDIA ✌ Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end-user while being delivered by a provider. The verb to stream refers to the procedure of delivering or obtaining media this way.[clarification needed] Streaming identifies the delivery approach to the medium, rather than the medium itself. Distinguishing delivery method from the media distributed applies especially to telecommunications networks, as almost all of the delivery systems are either inherently streaming (e.g. radio, television, streaming apps) or inherently non-streaming (e.g. books, video cassettes, audio tracks CDs). There are challenges with streaming content on the web. For instance, users whose Internet connection lacks sufficient bandwidth may experience stops, lags, or slow buffering of this content. And users lacking compatible hardware or software systems may be unable to stream certain content. Streaming is an alternative to file downloading, an activity in which the end-user obtains the entire file for the content before watching or listening to it. Through streaming, an end-user may use their media player to get started on playing digital video or digital sound content before the complete file has been transmitted. The term “streaming media” can connect with media other than video and audio, such as for example live closed captioning, ticker tape, and real-time text, which are considered “streaming text”. This brings me around to discussing us, a film release of the Christian religio us faith-based . As almost customary, Hollywood usually generates two (maybe three) films of this variety movies within their yearly theatrical release lineup, with the releases usually being around spring us and / or fall Habitfully. I didn’t hear much when this movie was initially aounced (probably got buried underneath all of the popular movies news on the newsfeed). My first actual glimpse of the movie was when the film’s movie trailer premiered, which looked somewhat interesting if you ask me. Yes, it looked the movie was goa be the typical “faith-based” vibe, but it was going to be directed by the Erwin Brothers, who directed I COULD Only Imagine (a film that I did so like). Plus, the trailer for I Still Believe premiered for quite some us, so I continued seeing it most of us when I visited my local cinema. You can sort of say that it was a bit “engrained in my brain”. Thus, I was a lttle bit keen on seeing it. Fortunately, I was able to see it before the COVID-9 outbreak closed the movie theaters down (saw it during its opening night), but, because of work scheduling, I haven’t had the us to do my review for it…. as yet. And what did I think of it? Well, it was pretty “meh”. While its heart is certainly in the proper place and quite sincere, us is a little too preachy and unbalanced within its narrative execution and character developments. The religious message is plainly there, but takes way too many detours and not focusing on certain aspects that weigh the feature’s presentation.
✌ TELEVISION SHOW AND HISTORY ✌ A tv set show (often simply Television show) is any content prBookmark this siteoduced for broadcast via over-the-air, satellite, cable, or internet and typically viewed on a television set set, excluding breaking news, advertisements, or trailers that are usually placed between shows. The “&f2&” World Movies inspired many Americans to buy their first tv set and in “&f2&”, the favorite radio show Texaco Star Theater made the move and became the first weekly televised variety show, earning host Milton Berle the name “Mr Television” and demonstrating that the medium was a well balanced, modern form of entertainment which could attract advertisers. The firsBookmBookmark this siteark this sitet national live tv broadcast in the The War with Grandpa took place on September 1, “&f2&” when President Harry Truman’s speech at the Japanese Peace Treaty Conference in SAN FRAKung Fu CO BAY AREA was transmitted over AT&T’s transcontinental cable and microwave radio relay system to broadcast stations in local markets.
✌ FINAL THOUGHTS ✌ The power of faith, “&e2&”, and affinity for take center stage in Jeremy Camp’s life story in the movie I Still Believe. Directors Andrew and Jon Erwin (the Erwin Brothers) examine the life span and The War with Grandpas of Jeremy Camp’s life story; pin-pointing his early life along with his relationship Melissa Heing because they battle hardships and their enduring “&e2&” for one another through difficult. While the movie’s intent and thematic message of a person’s faith through troublen is indeed palpable plus the likeable mThe War with Grandpaical performances, the film certainly strules to look for a cinematic footing in its execution, including a sluish pace, fragmented pieces, predicable plot beats, too preachy / cheesy dialogue moments, over utilized religion overtones, and mismanagement of many of its secondary /supporting characters. If you ask me, this movie was somewhere between okay and “meh”. It had been definitely a Christian faith-based movie endeavor Bookmark this web site (from begin to finish) and definitely had its moments, nonetheless it failed to resonate with me; struling to locate a proper balance in its undertaking. Personally, regardless of the story, it could’ve been better. My recommendation for this movie is an “iffy choice” at best as some should (nothing wrong with that), while others will not and dismiss it altogether. Whatever your stance on religion faith-based flicks, stands as more of a cautionary tale of sorts; demonstrating how a poignant and heartfelt story of real-life drama could be problematic when translating it to a cinematic endeavor. For me personally, I believe in Jeremy Camp’s story / message, but not so much the feature.

DRM versus human rights
Tumblr media
I hate DRM. A lot. And while I started off hating DRM because of the ways it restricted fair use, the more I worked on the issue, the more I realized that this was just the tip of the iceberg. DRM is not really a technology - it's a law. The digital locks on your devices can generally be removed, because preventing the owner of a device from modifying it is really, really hard. Which is why DRM was a longrunning joke - the subject of a million snarky warez crack-screens - until 1998, when the USA enacted the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), whose Section 1201 makes it a felony to provide someone with DRM-removal tools. Importantly, DMCA1201 doesn't prohibit infringing copyright - it prohibits removing DRM, EVEN IF YOU DON'T BREAK COPYRIGHT LAW. That means that if you have to remove DRM to do something legitimate, you risk prison. Manufacturers quickly realized that anything with software in it - increasingly, that's everything - can be designed so that using it in ways that harms their shareholders requires bypassing DRM, and thus is a literal crime: Felony Contempt of Business-Model. We've had 22 years' worth of US experience with this, and it's UGLY. But despite that experience, other countries have followed the US's lead, adopting near-identical legislation, under severe pressure from US corporate lobbyists and the US Trade Rep. The latest country to jump off a bridge because America did it first is Mexico, where, on Jul 1, the Congress adopted a copypaste of the DMCA (with the minimal safeguards stripped out) as part of Trump's USMCA deal (the successor to NAFTA). https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/07/mexicos-new-copyright-law-puts-human-rights-jeopardy But Mexico's legal system has an important circuit-breaker built in: an independent Human Rights Commission that can send legislation like this to the Supreme Court for constitutional review. After an all-out campaign by Derechos Digitales, R3D, Creative Commons Mexico and EFF, we convinced the Commission to send this law to the Supreme Court, at the very last minute: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/08/road-victory-human-rights-mexico That triggered a round of Congressional hearings this week, where EFF lawyers Corynne McSherry and Kit Walsh are testifying: https://www.eff.org/files/2020/09/04/mcsherry_statement_re_copyright_9.7.2020-final.pdf In support of our Mexican partners, I've written a lengthy history of human rights abuses that came about as a result of DMCA 1201, incorporating 22 years' worth of bitter truth about how laws that indiscriminately ban breaking DRM hurt human rights: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/09/human-rights-and-tpms-lessons-22-years-us-dmca Included in the document:
Free expression (blocking fair use, allowing app store gatekeepers to wield the censor's pen)
Self-determination (DRMs that allow sharing "within a family" get to decide what is - and is not - a "real family")
Rights of people with disability (you can't remove DRM to block seizure-inducing strobes in video, or use text-to-speech, etc)
Archiving (you can't remove DRM for long-term preservation)
Education (you can't remove DRM in order to study works, i.e. to remix a video in film class)
Right to Repair (many devices use DRM to block independent diagnostics and third-party replacement parts)
National resiliency (DRM means farmers can't access the soil data generated by tractors, nor block foreign companies from harvesting that data; you can't adapt equipment for local conditions)
Cybersecurity (researchers who discover defects in widely used devices risk prison for publishing their findings)
Competition (DRM lets dominant companies block interoperability)
This week, I launched my first-ever Kickstarter, and while it's exciting to watch the numbers tick up (if you've backed it, THANK YOU!), the only reason I had to do this was because Amazon won't sell my audiobooks, because they don't have DRM. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/doctorow/attack-surface-audiobook-for-the-third-little-brother-book Fighting DRM isn't just about fairness - it's the fight between oligarchy (companies get to control their critics, competitors and customers) and self-determination (you get to decide how your tech works): https://locusmag.com/2020/09/cory-doctorow-ip/

FA222 ,principles of graphic design:
Instructor: mr.munwar mukhtar
@uob-funoon @mnwrzmn
Project 1 : interviews
What is your given name, and user name on ZBrush Central?
My name is Khalid Abdulla Al-Muharraqi, my ZBrush Central user name is "Khalid72".
Tell us about your company, how did you start?
I set up Muharraqi-Studios to continue my family's history in the creative world and I am trying to continue to build on what my father started. The company was set up about two years ago after I left the commercial world of advertising with my partner Rashad who decided to leave a career in banking. We wanted to get together to make a place that allows us to be more creative. Since then we have been fortunate enough to work on some of the biggest projects in the middle east, and also continue working on our ideas and concepts, like our movie project. The most important thing for me is the work I do and that's what we are all about.
What is the size of your company?
The company is me and my partner, oh and our secretary... Keesha, a German Shepard! I am a hand's on guy and I do all the creative work myself. At first, I thought it was normal to carry that load because of the speed I work in, but later found out that I am actually very fast compared with bigger teams of artists in other studios. Finally I understood what people were telling me when they said I was 'unusual'. That’s why some of the CG magazines in Europe were amazed that a lot of our work is done by a one man team that puts all the 3D components together into a visualization. I work about 13 to 18 hours a day, I love 3D work, so my hobby and my work has joined into one, so … yes, very little time for a normal life.
What type of projects do you work on?
Well, I have been working on Architectural Visualizations since we started a couple of years ago, but I try to satisfy my urge to do what I really like, art!
You're located in Bahrain, somewhere most of us don't know about. Can you tell us how you learned your trade?
I love this question, Yes Bahrain is a small Island in the Persian gulf, we speak Arabic as our main language and English for the second, I will answer the second part in two parts, If you mean The art... I would say that I come from an artistic family, my father is one of the most well known artists in this part of the world, you can say that he is a household name in these parts. If you are asking were did I learn the 3D or CG art, I would say that I learned it by practicing for 8 hours a day after my official day of work, so I guess you can say I have been my own teacher in the industry.
Tell us a bit about your client base, mostly local, or do you have clients in Europe, Asia, America?
We serve clients from the Middle East, Europe and the Americas, I would say that I have been fortunate enough to have worked with some of the top people in the architectural industry, most of our clients are attracted to the type of work that we produce.
ow long have you been an artist?
Since I was six...I think! Well, the first painting I have sold when I was eleven. I was always painting and trying to find new techniques that will help create the concept in my mind.
Tell us about your background, your education, your mentors...
I studied art in Houston Texas for over seven years between interior decoration, photography, Visual communication, and digital enhancement or photo retouching, from there I have continued my working career in the commercial world. My first mentor would have to be my father, learned everything I know from him. He gave me the push start into the art world and made me feel it. There are also the books and artwork he has exposed me too with some of the top art in the world. A lot of names come to mind but I would say Frank Farazeta, Boris, The Creepy magazine and of course all the original Mad magazines and books that were very hot in the early 80's.
When you became an artist, did you first use traditional media?
For sure, I started with Pencil then got into crosshatching with ink, then I started painting with water colors and gouaches. I finally got into air brush art before I tried CG art.
What was your first CG package? What is your first 3D Package?
Nice question... first CG software was PSD, version 2, it was like magic... It felt strange especially that I was a traditional artist at the time. My first 3D package would be Alias Sketch for the Mac since I was a Mac user for a long time and did not have much 3D developers for Mac at the time. It was a new world for me and I think I still have a dusty copy of it today even after the software was canceled back in the early 90's, it just reminds me of my past.
How long have you been using ZBrush?
It has only been about six months, but I was up and running almost a few hours after I purchased it.
What made you try ZBrush?
I was watching some of the tutorial videos on how to paint details on the Gnomon training DVD's, and that's when I was shocked to see that it is art on the computer! I did not believe it at first, but It was one of the happiest moments when I first installed my first copy of ZBrush and started painting geometry for the first time, it reminded me with the days when I was pushing and pulling real clay to make a small creature of my imagination when I was a kid.
What's your favorite ZBrush feature?
The ability to paint geometry like it is physically in my hands.
How has ZBrush enabled you to express yourself in ways other packages couldn't?
Well you cant really compare it with any other software, it's simply too different! It changes how a CG artist works, it changes how he looks at things, has changed the industry to the next future leap, and who would want to go back to the past....? I would simply say that the concept of the software is very smart and impressive, my only wish to add on it is to have a bigger view port :)
Now onto "Floating Islands"Tell us about your creative process, how did this concept emerge?
One evening when I was stuck in the studio waiting for clients approval on a project that I was preparing for the kingdom of Bahrain, I was trying to get free again and relax my mind from all boundaries, I started to sketch a concept that has bean in my mind since I was a kid, the island that was then discovered to be on the back of a whale, these were some of the old middle eastern stories about Sinbad's magical voyages.
Do ideas just come to you out of nowhere, or are there particular artists or work you are inspired by?
I am always inspired by everything that is beautiful, whether it is an artist or a design or just Gods creation, I would also say that I have always had my own style in my work and almost never try to follow a certain style that I have seen.
I love this piece, can you tell me about the process of creating it? Have you explored this style before? Or was this created for something specific?
The process was, a sketch or the map as I would call it, and that would be the basis of my creation, I almost never start without it, once I crack the direction then I would start thinking about the execution and the path to take. About the style, well I don't think of my work as style, I think it is more towards I do what I feel, it is only when I am finished with it that I say "Yes! That's what I was tying to do". I almost never tried to repeat a style that I have seen elsewhere on my work. I feel that It is like a code of respect between artists.
In your image "Floating Islands" where was ZBrush used?
ZBrush helped me sculpt the geometry and take it to the next level in a short time. Modeling, UVs, Painting and scenes setups was between Lightwave and Modo. With ZBrush I was able to put the final touches that would make it come to life. ZBrush helped me start painting the UV map textures and setting up the foundation of the look and feel. I also generated some of the whales textures by the amazing ZMapper ;)
Tell us about your pipeline.
I start with Modo, then go to ZBrush, then finally render with Lightwave. The thing with software today is that they work hand in hand to complete each other, for instance ZBrush is very specialized in what it does, it focuses on the need of the artist and helps the creator to complete his task sufficiently with a smooth flow, artists have never had it this good.
What projects are you working on now?
We have just completed the visualization for the Master Plan for the Kingdom of Bahrain with one of the leading Architectural firms in the world, we have helped restructure and rebuild old and new cities for the country. Now I will be working more onto the movie project that we have been trying to get the time to start, hopefully I will be able to focus more on creating more Characters and environments for the movie.
Any last comments for us?
I would like to say Thank you to Manuel at Pixologic and Pixologic for appreciating the work I do. I would also like to thank all the development team and staff at Pixologic for there dedication to work together to help create some of the best tools ever created for the CG industry, I always expect the ideas to be fresh and most importantly designed for the end user, the artist, allowing the artist to continue being an artist without the restrictions and boundaries of a computer.
