my personal favorite: the solitary firebird. (this would be my dream to write and complete, but this would be a full-on fic with character development and all. it would require so much commitment. one day, aaa. it’s inspired by one of my most favorite fics ever: the sterling nightingale. it’s a finnick odair story on ao3!! but, the next enemies to lovers i write, might be a condensed one-shot of this plot.)

I appreciate every single comment and try to show that. There's nothing better than the e-mail that says "comment on your work" and it can make my whole day. Sometimes I don't know what to respond if it's just a word or a keybord smash, but rest assured I see you and I love every one of those, too.

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Angsty ending hmmmm. Because some of my stuff is not completed yet I am not gonna spoil anything but Dust and ash about Astarion's backstory was naturally quite angsty

Not yet. Maybe I could count Copper hearts because I took Francys from my original work and planted him into Bg3

I do. I am exploring all kinds atm with preferably queer pairings wlw or mlm or nb. I can also write mlw from the men's perspective but not the other way round :D

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

My german Inkheart fic with a genderbent lesbian Basta. Damn I was invested in creating this character, but gave up after a while because it was a lot of work and it being german and a niche topic in a small fandom was not very rewarding tbh. I know I should not care and maybe I'll come back to it when the Inkheart obsession comes over me again.

15. What are your writing strengths?

I am good at setting the scene. Atmosphere and small mundane details that make the setting feel alive. I have always liked that in reading as in writing, because it makes you feel like you are actually there when you can hear and smell and taste the scene.

Also I am okay at developing coherent plot, but that's mainly practice from writing a lot of og work before I started with fics.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

I still struggle with english grammar and punctuation at times so I always have a beta reader. And I am lucky to have great ones.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I am not a fan. It confuses me. Singular phrases and such yes, but not entire dialogue. Especially if it's german in an english fic I get super confused.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

*digs through her files* So, my first works were basically fic for my best friend's story. (I was in my early teens.) But since she was the author the lines between canon and fic are blurry and the "fandom" consisted of three people of which one was the author XD

So if we don't count that the first one would be Hunger Games - It was one chapter and I never published it

19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

We'll see what posesses me next I guess, though I think Bg3 will stay with me for a considerable amount of time. And ship wise ... I feel Durgetash creeping up on me.

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

Definitely Direct from Hell Logistics. I am having so much fun with it. It constantly makes me laugh and sheme and I also feel all the angst. Also it is ongoing and I get to explore the story alongside the readers (though I have a rough plot structure to keep me on track).

Yes! I try to respond to every single comment! They took the time to give me a comment, why wouldn't I take the time to thank them for it?

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

That's tough, because I always try to give hellcheer a happy ending - they deserve it! But Release My Inner Fantasy, despite being almost purely smut, definitely has the angstiest ending. (although it might be slightly cheating since it is part of an ongoing series, and I do intend to give them an eventual happy ending)

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Again, I love to write happy endings! So most of my fics are very happy at the close. But Hooked on a Feeling might be my most sappy-sweet ending. It's definitely one of my more lighthearted fics!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

honestly, no! the hellcheer fandom overall has been very kind to me. the closest I get to hate on fics is people wishing/asking me to do something different than I've already done (i.e. write an alternate ending because they didn't want A or B in it), which can be very discouraging. but I don't get that a lot!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do! However, I had never written actual smut in my life until this year, so I'm still pretty new at it

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Not really. The closest I've ever gotten to a crossover is crossover elements loosely integrated in a fic. Devil in the Woods, for example, uses bits and pieces from things like little red riding hood and beauty and the beast while remaining very much its own thing!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of! And I'd very much like to keep it that way

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

i don't think so! but i'd be honored if somebody did

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I haven't, but I have a lovely friend who betas for me on occasion and we bounce ideas back and forth so much it sometimes feels like cowriting ( @slumped-in-the-arms-of-fiction )

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

I intend to finish every single wip I have going atm (As well as a few on the back burner lol). but sometimes it feels like i'm never going to finish them, especially when i'm on the very last chapters. why does it always work like that???

16. What are your writing strengths?

I feel like i'm pretty good at writing intimate scenes. and by that i mean scenes where not a lot's going on, where a small group of characters (usually two) can be together or have a conversation that doesn't do much for the plot but sheds a lot of light on the characters themselves (both to the readers and within the story between characters)

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I'm very undisciplined with writing habits, i don't write every day or have certain goals. i struggle to describe people and scenery in a concrete way that is integrative with the story itself.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

find a native speaker and get (and listen to) their feedback. whether it's tenses, phrases, or cultural tendencies, let someone who's actually the expert be the expert.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

hellcheer! unless you count me scribbling in my journal when i was about eight, writing a boxcar children story because i'd heard that they employed ghost writers and i thought "i could do that!" i wrote like half a dozen sentences, convinced i was going to become employed by the boxcar children publisher.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

honestly? probably Devil in the Woods. it's the one i go back to the most when i need a comfort read.

Hope you're feeling better! I, personally, have been a bit dead to the world since late April. This past May was kinda odd, honestly. I think everyone I know and know of just. died for the month. Collectively. At once.

I actually wanted to slide in here and pick your brain about your ongoing Monster Mayhem stuff, if you're up for it? Just like a general status overview question, since I feel kinda out of the loop 😭 And also because I know that I tend to like talking about my feelings on my current wips, so I figured maybe you might too? If not, dw!

I'll put these in bullet points since it's kinda easier for me to organize my thoughts that way

Jack: I remember you saying awhile back that you expect Part 2 to be the final part. Is that still holding up, or does it feel like it'll be longer?

Rook: From the pacing, I'm getting the vibe that this one might be another 4 part story? mayhaps? Or maybe Rook isn't like the other girls TM and gets something different.

Vil: I haven't read this one yet, but I'm excited to sit down with it soon! What's the overall length/number of parts you're planning for at the moment?

I'm pretty sure this was asked at some point before, but what's your stance on epilogues? There has been... discussion. about a Leona epilogue before, I recall, but are you considering epilogues for all of them, or only specific characters?

What's like. your vibe, rn? With each of the stories? Like in terms of "I'm really feeling this, so I'm working on it and it might be posted in the nearish future, assuming no disasters" to like "I plan to continue this, but not rn. I've got a different worm chewing on the brain lettuce atm". Ik you literally just answered an ask similar to this, and said Leona part 4 & Vil part 2 are the one's you're focused on, so I guess this is more so geared towards the Jack and Rook ones? Or other stuff you're secretly planning. I have a vague memory of a "forgot your birthday" scenario that was on a poll a few months back

Also I. have a third Monster Mayhem Azul brainrot. It's not a fluffy one. If I can wrangle it into something more coherent, I may send it your way. Not dissimilar to the fashion of throwing a pebble at someone's window to get their attention, but accidentally putting a hole through the glass, and taking off running.

I'm gonna put this all under a little cut thing just because I feel like there's quite a lot! So here we go~

Jack -- It would still only be two parts I think! I only had short plans for that going forward, and it's currently at the bottom of my bucket list so to speak, not for any big reason just because Jack isn't one of my favorites so he falls behind on what I actually want to write.

Rook -- Was a bit more up in the air in terms of what I wanted to do. Had started writing a third part for it, but Rook's in particular felt very like, episodic? If that makes sense? Rather than an overarching cohesive arc. So I could write so much more little random side stories! But aside from a bit I had sort of planned regarding Riddle, there wasn't too much specific I had in mind.

Vil -- Probably one or two more parts to wrap up what I wanted with him; most likely one of the same length as the first. But that one of all of them may get a separate little piece because I am such a sucker for mermaids/sirens soooo that may get some special love

Epilogues -- bit of a mish mash. Really depends how I'm feeling tbh. If I want to write something, I'll word vomit like no one's business, but if I'm not overly invested then I probably won't bother writing one. But again

Vibe Check -- I’m absolutely wiped. Not with these stories, because I do genuinely love them. But like, back to back tough placements on top of illness is a trip. So I’m a bit more tired and less motivated than I normally am, just because most of my brain is chewing on actual school work and case reports and trying to not make myself look like an idiot every time I’m asked for a diagnosis list and go “uuuuhhhhhhhh.” But! I have some brain worms. Right now — big thing I’m working on is the second half of a very long commission. Which is loads of fun but also there’s so much to chew over there, so that takes a lot of my brain. On the side, I was really also writing my Vil Siren Part 2. Because that’s also a lot on the brain and it’s very different Vibe to the commission, so like it’s a good one to go back and forth between depending on what mood I’m in. Jamil is also very On My Brain right now oddly enough. I think because I read a short little Naga piece a while ago and it reminded me how much I love them. So that's on my brain a lot. As for the others, Jack has sorta fallen to the wayside admittedly. Mostly because I adore him as a Bro, but he’d just not usually a character my brain swoons over, so he’s sort of just… existing. I also wasn’t entirely sure where I wanted to go with that other than just “oh wow we fixed it together!” And that’s a factor too. As for other things, the birthday one comes back and forth depending on my mood, but idk if that’ll ever go up. I have lots of it written, but not enough to post or really toss together straight away. If that makes sense

the 1st on is about modern tommy and alfie meeting at the margate's beach where alfie sees tommy walking his cat (yes dangerous is a bengal cat in this one) on a leash. also alfie went to margate to rest after chemo and tommy went there cuz his family talked him into taking some rest after he broke his scull.

the 2nd one is tommy and alfie meeting via chess app. and then they meet irl but alfie doesn't realise it cuz he never saw tommy's photos but tommy did. and he decided to not tell alfie that it's him and suffers greatly cuz of it

god idk i wish someone would tell me that. smut comes very easily, dialogs too

HAVING. TOO. MANY. WIPS.

i think i’m good at dialogue and catching accents and nailing personalities pretty quick,,

i’m so fucking slow. if nothing else, watching people write for cod on here has shown me how quick everyone else seems to be able to write :’)

and also with longer fics i’ve gotten into the (bad) habit of leaving out like integral details that i assume the reader will just know bc ive been too in my own head about it all and ive forgotten what i’ve established already; leads to decisions looking like they’ve come out of nowhere or random personality changes

18. thoughts on dialogue in another language?

i’ve attempted it but i have to google translate it so i try to keep it to a minimum and ask for correction in the comments. sometimes i do it italicised but written in english so readers can understand that it’s meant to be another language but dont have to skip to the bottom notes or another tab to understand what’s being said

20. favorite fic you've written?

idk if i’ve got a favourite,, in hindsight a lot of the ones i think about most fondly are the ones that absolutely killed me off when writing so i’ve got real rose tinted glasses about them all. however these are few that should get honourable mentions just because i like them and they didn’t pop up earlier

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

I currently have 9, though one of them is a collection of first person character studies that are technically each a separate story.

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

274,802... thats a lot considering I only started writing a year ago.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Exclusively Elder Scrolls atm, Mostly focusing on Morrowind.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

Serious Mistakes, Sleepers Awake, Adherence, On Apocrypha, The Properties of Ash Hoppers and Slaughterfish.

5. Do you respond to comments?

I try to, though sometimes I get too overwhelmed by what to say and subsequently forget to reply. I swear if that has happened it's not because I don't appreciate them, I do, I'm just really sick atm and don't have a lot of energy to formulate a decent reply that isn't <3 <3 <3. I do try to reply.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

...Oh that's hard, all of them are like that. Adherence might take the cake though.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I don't write happy.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I don't want to get to into it, but I did experience it once. It was pathetic on their end and I'd rather forget it.

I have included smut within fics, though I've never written one with that as the focus....that I've published. My kinks stay secret...

Never quite been a fan of crossovers to be honest. I'm also not so into isekai as a genre. So it's unlikely I'd ever dabble in it.

Arg, it's 100% Josh and Erra . Give me my dumb cinnamon roll Ashlander OC and my kidnapped Skyrim NPC/ Nerevarine who I OCafied to a ridiculous degree any day and I am happy. Erra is a friend group favourite.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have a pov from Joshi's father that I'm so close to finishing but I need to be in the mood to write 1st person.

I don't know to be honest, I have trouble with these kinds of questions.

I'm a new writer, only really started up with writing fan fiction last year. I still have a lot to learn.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

If done well it's great. I love seeing Dunmeris being used within fics. I use a lot of Ashland, which I've compiled using the Akkadian and Sumerian languages as a the root with some Dunmeris mixed in. Assyiology has its benefits- namely I can pick up half the shit going on in Morrowind and Chimeris ;)

Trinity Blood. (I made a comic as a teen that never actually put that online).

A tie between Sleepers Awake (ongoing, main Morrowind fic) and Arkanis: Teldryn (which covers Teldryn (Josh) going through Kogoruhn as part of the Warrior Trial for Sul-Matuul.)

Ooh! Thanks for the ask, anon! Let's just hope my answers will be at least slightly interesting, haha. Probably not, but I like going on about random stuff...so thanks again ;)

I usually don't listen to music while I'm writing (but I do need some background noise and for some reason people talking in English works best, so I often put on BBC News or something lol). But there are some occasions where a certain song just reminds me a lot of a fic because of the lyrics or general vibe, and in that case I sometimes listen to that song on endless repeat during writing. But, er...my music taste isn't really anything to brag about. I'm mostly into classical music, metal, Jpop/Kpop and I recently started listening to the Beatles. Anyway, I don't think I can recommend anything, sorry 😅

I've been reading mostly non-fiction books about British politics this year and some of them were really good, but...that might not be this interesting, so I won't start nerding out about my fave politics books, haha. As for some more general recommendations, here are some of my more recent fiction favourites I could think of off the top of my head (and I'm doing my best not to mention only very obscure stuff & classics here :D):

- the entire Shardlake series by C.J.Sansom

- Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata

- the Dublin Trilogy by Caimh McDonnell

- Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke

- and I really enjoyed the Bright Empires series by Stephen R Lawhead earlier this year...but the end was a bit unsatisfying so idk if I would really 100% recommend it.

As for fics, when I have a more or less good idea I usually start working on it immediately, so that's why I've got quite a few WIPs in different states of completion (about 12 or so). Apart from my ongoing series I'm mostly working on two HIGNFY fics (one one-shot and another really long multi-chapter one...I think I mentioned both of these without any details though) which will be pretty silly :D And these are taking up most of my writing time, so...the shorter one will be finished soon. No idea about the long one though, I never plan my plots in advance so I honestly can't say where this will go, haha. Anyway, both of them are so much fun to write and I'm looking forward to posting them, so...I'm having a great time :D

My favourite HIGNFY season...I remember that I really liked S6, but I don't know if there was a special reason 🤔 And the most recent S66 was also really fun, I think. Other than that...obviously the ones with lots of great Paul looks/outfits are the best, like S4-S8 S14, S16, S19...in short, way too many. Sorry 😅

Whats the favorite fic you have going on atm??

Thank you for the ask! This is such a tough question though. 😭 Okay I'm going to divide this up into two pieces: established WIPs and future WIPs.

So my favorite established fic (this is so close though!) would have to be Ambassador to Madness. I'm just really in the zone with this fic right now and I'm loving the pacing which doesn't happen a lot with my ongoing fics.

As for my favorite future fic...okay so I've traveled down a rabbit hole recently. I had an idea for a Robin Hood bagginshield fic that I was SO EXCITED about, but all of my knowledge comes from older movies/books. So I thought I would do some research on BBC Robin Hood (because Richard as Guy...😳). And now I've traveled too far down the fanfiction rabbit hole and have a Robin/Guy fic that I can't stop thinking about. But really guys...how could you expect me to resist the childhood rivals to enemies to lovers angle?

Sun and wind please for the ask game!!

I'll use Loyalty's Price: Interlude since it's my like, ongoing WIP. Not in a metaphorical box atm.

Sun: Favorite part of the WIP: Yet to come, but there's an exchange between Naruto and Kabuto in ch3 that I've been suuuppper excited about. They're gonna talk about the Third, about Danzo, about how frustrating the world is, and about defiling the Hokage faces. Gonna be soo much fun to edit.

Wind: Easiest part to write: Dialogue, it's always been the easiest part for me. Conversations just tend to flow the easiest. Those are the sprints where I'm pulling off 800-1k words in half an hour. I love writing either arguments or heart to hearts especially.

The easiest part of this fic so far has to be either the exchange between Kakashi and Kabuto in chapter 1, or the huge talk between Tsunade and the new team 7.

LISTEN. this is one of the most unique stories i have ever read in this fandom. the writer created this whole lore where librarians are like. these otherworldly eternal beings and it follows irma pince's immortal life as she tends the hogwarts library and just. i love it. i love it so much.

Notes on a resurrection by newleaves - ok this one is a drarry fix-it fic where unspeakable draco malfoy accidentally raises harry's dad from the dead. and harry's mum. and harry's favorite dada teacher. and--well, u get the picture. i am not kidding when i say this is one of my favorite fics EVER like ever ever ever the lovely @simmy75 recommended it to me and i am now eternally grateful to her bc it altered my brain chemicals permanently. Like. i will try not to go on and on but this is one of the most beautifully and uniquely written stories i have ever read!! it is complex and confusing and feels like trying to put a puzzle together because draco is SUCH an unreliable narrator and just!!! please go read it. even if u are not a drarry fan this fic is AMAZING

Of Memories and Milk Thievery by moonymoment (@blurryayse hi jude i already yelled at u abt how much i love this) - this is the most recent like. longer completed marauders fic that i've read and it!!! is!!!! so!!! good!!! perfect balance of angst and sweetness and jude's writing makes me run around in circles like a dog chasing its own tail. remus + sirius are exes co-parenting teddy + they are both so petty that it leads to shenanigans + confrontations + tears + a poorly-thought-out parent-trap style plot by teddy + harry.

A Darling, A Demon, A Lamb by brightened - this one is a very dark alice/lily first war fic told from lily's pov. very very heavy so please check warnings + everything if u decide to read - i love angst and i love dark fics and this is beautifully written so i'm kind of obsessed <3 currently on hiatus but the day it comes back i will be devouring it posthaste

A few months ago I came across one of the old reddit posts talking about cut content from Fallout 4. The content involving the ocean in particular caught my attention, and the goal some users had back in the day to find out if Ol’ Peg was actually in the game as a hidden easter egg.

It intrigued me so I made a mental note that I needed to come up with a neat concept for this thing at some point down the line.

The thought sat with me for awhile while I messed with other stuff here and there, but I eventually made time for it. Did a bunch of research and brainstorming for how a Blue Ghoul Whale might look.

I mean aside from the whale, I’ve been itching to just have fun painting Fallout 4′s post apocalyptic and retro settings lately anyway (plus get some more organic nature BG practice in), and a lot of those ideas are centered around exploring the Wasteland with my favorite companion.

This illustration is much larger, and obviously unfinished seeing as Hancock is still pretty blobby atm. But I liked the look of this crop and wanted to share some more of my WIPs until I can get around to finishing them up.

I’ve obviously been heavily inspired to mess around with a lot of different Fallout 4 fanart lately. It’s a place of comfort for me, especially since it was there to escape into during the ongoings of some pretty heavy shit in my life a few yeas ago.

The themes of Fallout, and the atmosphere of 4 in particular bring on feelings I really enjoy so I can’t help myself to wanna illustrate the different environments and moods the games offer.
