Replacing Seidl, someone who was a big successful history in Motorsport with Binotto, who is an honest to God meme because of how bad he did as a TP, feels like a very strange choice.

A Thousand Souls [Rohan Kishibe x Reader (Oneshot)]
Summary: A mysterious journey to a forgotten place deepens the connection between you and Rohan.
//N/A:
This was inspired by a place near my home, I hope you'll enjoy the fic!!!💖
Tumblr media
You did this because you needed a vacation.
That’s what you told yourself, at least. It was a good excuse to come with Rohan here, in this place forgotten by the humanity that created it. It looked abandoned, something the gods had forgotten about, letting the unspoken lives they left behind take over. It doesn’t appear on any map, not even old ones. How did Rohan even know how to get here in the first place? That’s a question he refused to answer, yet he was the one who asked you to come with him.
“So, you’re not doing to tell me how you even know about this forsaken place’s existence?” you looked around, you were currently walking down a dusty road, filled with holes, wide enough for someone to fall and break something if they weren’t paying attention.
“I found it during my research for my new one-shot” he finally responded observing intently the building you two crossed. “The one about ghouls…. I will let you read it later, promise.”
“And it took you to Romania from all places? Wasn’t this supposed to be Dracula’s home?” the mangaka turned to you, looking rather pissed but still holding a calmness that characterized your conversations.
“It is also the birthplace and inspiration for Constantin Brâncuși” You two turned left and started walking towards a wall of trees that didn’t let any clue of what was behind them to be seen. “He was a great artist, and I can see why. Even if this place is far from his hometown I find as beautiful” he then stayed silent for a moment, uttering something that you couldn’t quite comprehend, but it sounded like “but not like you”. No, it must be your mind hallucinating, the Rohan Kishibe would never take a romantic interest in you, you were too plain. Right?
But still, he was always more interested in what you had to say than he was with other people. He invited you the most to spend time with him, even saying that he loved your presence once, and calling you his muse in front of Koichi. Maybe your thoughts could be wrong for once after all.
Before you knew it, you two stopped on a metal bridge. It looked like it could fall any second, but this doesn’t seem to disturb Rohan. The man seemed happy, almost excited that you arrived there, switching his gaze between the lake that was moving beneath you and the sky that got darker by second. Just what did he have planned?
“There are a thousand souls beneath us.”
It seemed like a casual thing coming from Rohan, something he said to break the silence for the moment. Except he was right. Just as the moon began to shine, a multitude of eyes appeared in the water and, even if their mouths were hidden, little screams echoed from below. It was astonishing, breathtaking, you felt like your soul left your body for a moment, descending into the astral before facing the river, ready to be lost in it like the rest.
“Come back! Earth to (Y/N)!” Rohan screamed, holding you in his arms, his tone seemed scared yet determined. His hand gently took your chin, forcing you to look at him. “You see, this place is cursed, admire what you want, when you want” but don’t let yourself be taken away.  Otherwise, I might have to make you admire only me. Though I don’t mind, I would rather we admire this together. “
You began to feel yourself heat up, he was so close, and his hand moved to the back of your head. Rohan cleared his throat, before muttering something to you. “Plus, we aren’t lost souls,” his face was getting close to you, “we have eachother.”
With that, soft lips landed on yours, sealing something a million words can’t.

forgive me if you've been asked this before or if its annoying, but how did you learn to use colored pencils like that? your art is so special to me.
ty :) I took an art class for a few years where our teacher had us buy prismacolor pencils as one of the art supplies and had us use them kinda like paints, pressing down hard right away and blending the colors together. its not how youre supposed to use them she was just trying to teach us to use color and ig this was more to the point. I picked them up again years after i stopped going to that class just bc they were there and i wanted to play around w them a bit and ended up actually enjoying it when doing it on my own terms lol
#it was a weird class#it was just this russian lady doing private lessons in her house that my mom learned about somehow#I did NOT like those classes all we did was still life and they were hours long which is esp rough when im in high school and busy#and she wanted us to stand while working the whole time bc tradition i guess?#she did allow me to work sitting but thought i was lazy for it. idk dude i dont want to exhaust myself fast for no reason#standing is a lot more tiring than walking#i def did still benefit from those classes just from learning to accurately draw from life#did not like the teacher tho#on one hand shed paid for the art supplies for kids whos families were too poor to (and these are nice expensive supplies)#which is very nice#but on the other she was very homophobic and open about it#like when they legalized gay marriage she went on a rant about how horrible it is that they can adopt kids now#and also kind of racist#she was telling me how she got blocked from a facebook group bc she made a post asking if she could speak to a white person#and she didnt realize she was posting that publicly she thought it was a private message to the group owner#im honestly still not sure i heard/understood her correctly bc it was so bizzare and the only time i ever remember her being racist#she talked abt it like she genuienly was unaware it was racist#she described it as a misunderstanding bc she accidentally posted it publicly instead of privately#like it wouldnt have been racist to ask that at all#also one time she talked about how she saw demons in her home once#also she doesnt vaccinate her kids bc of microchips#she was like a walking russian stereotype lol#anyway heres some ink the artist lore

Absolutely loving, adoring, Le*nda de L*sle’s review of MacCulloch’s work...
Tumblr media
My thoughts, feelings, opinions I’ve put below. It gets very long because I cannae haud me wheesht
I don’t know why she’s obsessed with the idea that he mustn’t have loved his wife. ‘the supposedly grieving widower’? I don’t think the arrangement of a marriage for a king - which Henry obviously agreed to - is a sufficient way to judge what Thomas’s relationship with his wife was like. The (foreign and domestic) political, religious and dynastic factors at play there can’t be ignored in favour of extrapolating that he didn’t understand marrying for love. The “happy marriage” in quotation marks😭 have got to laugh. her condescending cynicism is based on nothing tangible, as far as I can work out. She shades MacCulloch as well through the, ‘he believes that although the evidence is sparse, Cromwell was indeed a grieving widower'…. Ngl I would argue it’s not a particularly strained logical leap to assume he might’ve been upset.
We know barely anything about their relationship. Mostly what can be concretely said is he, unusually, never remarried - we’ll obviously never know the reason(s) for that, but still. There was seemingly one notable relationship outside of it, which we only know of because it resulted in an illegitimate daughter, a wee while after his wife passed away. But even that isn’t for 100% certain. He also atypically didn’t have a mistress. There’s also exactly one (1) extant letter from him to his wife, which is pleasant enough, but not much revealing - he asks her for news of home and sends her a deer. she didnt live long enough so as to have any external remarks on their marriage once he entered court spheres. Essentially it’s impossible to draw anything more than speculative conclusions, but based on what can be tentatively extrapolated from his actions, it seems more likely he grieved for his wife than didn’t imo. And also just considering natural, human emotion??
(Even if you want to suggest they didn’t marry for love in the beginning - and/or weren’t in love by the end - they were married for what? Roughly a decade and a half? With no signs of estrangement, and friendly correspondence in letters to Cromwell asking him to pass on their regards to his wife. So even if it was simply an amicable relationship, on a basic level being with someone in such close proximity, for that long, and losing them is probably going to be upsetting?)
On a tangential note, as MacCulloch does point out, the valentine to Mary mentioned here wasn’t at all romantic - it’s misleading to present that, as she does, as an attempt for he himself to marry into royalty. Or more charitably, I think she misremembered the context for it from the book
I’d also question de Lisle’s point about the executions. Personally I don’t think it suggests a greater misogyny than any of his contemporaries? Imo it’s indicative of the broader pattern of a brutal, violent ruthlessness towards those he saw as any enemy, in his way, and/or as going against the crown/policy etc. As opposed to any particular or especial hatred towards women. This isn't meant as an excuse for those actions in any way, because they're - quite obviously - horrific. I just question the rationale behind such a judgement of even-worse-than-usual-for-the-time-misogyny based upon it. Such brutality wasn't isolated to women, men were treated just as abominably. She talks of their humiliation to evidence her point, but again, men were faced with the same. (Ask Richard Whiting who got dragged up Glastonbury Tor at nearly 80, whose case involved, 'to be tryed [presumably for treason] at Glaston and also executyd there' from cromwell's remembrances; or John Forrest, who was strung up in chains, which is a humiliating - to use her term - prolonged death in itself, but was also supposedly burnt using kindling made from a statue of a saint - oh how clever of you!). We don’t (afaik) have letters or remarks which reflect cromwell’s views on women in the same way as for Norfolk, for example. it's just a bizarre extrapolation to me. again, imo it's an incredibly dark, ruthless streak through his personality. it seems to have been his standard handling of any major execution. Also, to be clear, I’m not suggesting he wasn’t sexist/misogynistic, because ofc he was. All men back then were, as a symptom of living and socilisation in such a patriarchal society.
(also interesting for her to pair this suggestion w/ her thoughts about his marriage come to think of it. she seems to be linking the two in a broader picture, I assume wherein this should be added to the ‘evidence’ he didn’t/couldnt have loved his wife)
also the contrast of his physical looks in the Holbein, against his 'becoming' a 'convivial figure' in MacCulloch's work, is disappointing. not reading personalities from portraits, nor ascribing negative character traits to appearances and/or weight (implicitly or otherwise) shouldn't be a big ask, but apparently is. It'd be a wee bit different if she’d pointed to his expression - I still think that’s an unsound way to go about things fwiw - which at least isn’t intrinsically linked to his features, but alas no.
Lastly, re: MacCulloch’s arguments, i would say he’s more impartial than she implies. He might be Anglican, but I wouldn’t say he’s ‘on the Protestant side’ particularly. I struggle to see how his presentation of Catholics - from what i remember, altho it’s been a while since i've read it - is less than fair? He directly praises more and fisher iirc. but someone with a better knowledge of the book could correct me on this point.
also, positioning that he's on the 'protestant side', alongside the next line being about his argument that cromwell was grieving, is an interesting choice. is the suggestion that if you agree with the latter your sympathies must lie with "protestantism"? that it's only through a biased lens you could reach that conclusion? sksjksjk diabolical suggestion that that's the only reason anyone might consider he mourned his wife. like am i going insane or is it genuinely what she's saying??… i cant see why she'd juxtapose those specific points otherwise. Like critiquing mantel's comments about catholics and their presentation in wolf hall is fair enough, but connecting that with the fact she wrote cromwell as 'heartbroken' and that he loved his wife, comes across to me as though she's suggesting the former should invalidate mantel's interpretation of the latter. which again i dont think is fair based on the evidence we do have..
I would also question (because it is confusing to me) despite the fact that MacCulloch and Mantel were friends, why the “”””””happy marriage”””””” across both works is the way in here??? like why are you so bothered as to both lead and finish the article with that?
(And, frankly, MacCulloch paints a picture of a happier marriage - he writes that the simplest explanation is, ‘he couldn’t bear to marry anyone else’ - than Mantel does. Who presents their relationship as literally (as in, textually), ‘loves’ but not ‘in love’. and has him actively wanting to remarry. she had a line in TMATL that goes he was ‘mostly faithful’ which? I’m not sure if she meant to imply infidelity but altho she did present a picture of him missing her i guess)
#it’s just so bizzare. utterly utterly bizarre#… obsessive; even#he probably loved his wife and grieved when she died?!?#screaming crying throwing up#it's possible to acknowledge he did some awful things. whilst also suggesting he loved his family. they're not mutually exclusive#I’ve said it before I’ll say it again#why do some people have an inability to be normal and not deranged about this man#additionally#there’s more than enough to reasonably say about Cromwell. about henry too. but some of what's written verges on ridiculousness. or farce#the preoccupation w/ their looks and weight specifically is a particularly common one.. suddenly I’m prepared to go to the mat. to the dirt#to paraphrase a hilarious meme; 'touch their minds lord!'#if this was a considered criticism of the work. absolutely fair play. but it’s just? not?#it’s almost like her airing a personal beef with this dead man who’s long since been bones#it's so funny when historians clearly have a weird personal vendetta w a Tudor figure. just go have a matcha latte and calm down#you get the same with Anne Boleyn too#very much a 'why are you so obsessed w/ me' vibe. imagine getting someone so bothered 500 years later#RATTLED lol#a bitter irony that though they (arguably) werent allied in life; in death they're getting the same groups of people furious#love that for them#(also I’m not trying to act like a stan here btw but her patronising tone when she's basing her points on nothing is irritating lol)#tudor history#Thomas Cromwell#Diarmaid MacCulloch#the Tudors#wolf hall

i read oshi no ko and now i’m thinking like what if ai was a punk singer or something. what if she was emo instead. imagine being a famous emo’s kid and you look up their top song and the first lyric is like “IM GONNA KMS 🎶🎵I HOPE YOU DIE” like how strange would that be

just got one of the most bizarre tumblr ads I've ever seen
Tumblr media
[Image description: A Tumblr ad. The title says Enhance Security Now!. below it in smaller font it says Choose continuous monitoring and threat modeling to protect your data. There is no company name on the ad, it just says sponsored. The ad image is AI generated and shows a man in a suit riding an octopus with too many arms. The octopus is floating above an ocean in space. /End ID]
I- thanks, tumblr? but I don't need my data protected by an extremely obvious and terribly designed AI generated... *checks notes* businessman-cowboy riding a floating 15-armed octopus with three moons behind it?

as a bona fide vaxleth lover i am more confused than ever about how they are portrayed on the animated series i'm not gonna lie 😭
#not that different is bad like it doesn't affect or 'ruin' the actual source material#i just legitimately do not understand some of their choices here#there's stuff i really like ofc but u know. i've written multiple long analyses about conflict in their relationship#and in previous seasons it seemed to me like they were just smoothing out those sharp edges which bummed me out ngl#(for one there was a line at the end of s1 where kiki directly contradicted her campaign self in favor of No Conflict that i was feeling#unsatisfied with. and s2 didn't contend with rq as a sticking point for keyleth really at all)#and like to be honest my distaste for that is biased by like fandom drama of years past and people shitting on them for that exact stuff#so for me it kinda felt like an updated and palatable version that appealed to the group of people that made me feel bad for liking them#which is again like a strong personal bias lol but u know it also is just. a really important story to me that i love#but this season it's like they went no no. they do actually need to fight that was a big thing. hmmmm what about#AH YES. let's reverse their povs about their relationship completely.#have not finished ep3 yet but 10 min in i'm just like HUH?#again this doesn't rly matter and the show remains an enjoyable adaptation it's just truly bizzare to me 😭 how did this choice get made#it speaks#lovm spoilers#sorry I'm not done yet actually because the specific conflict about happiness in the present being or not being worth sorrow later#is the VERY CORE OF BOTH OF THOSE CHARACTERS and to switch which one feels which is way more than weird for the romance it's weird for like#what each of their whole individual deal is. that's why i'm so ??????????????#gah. i truly don't want to complain too badly#(and tbh the eps simply don't have enough runtime for vax to be as completely-falling-apart as he actually was and the role of#depression and trauma and self-loathing in that vs like. a more easily telegraphed supernatural boogeyman#-which if they slowed the pace down more might fit in but the scale of the story is so grand that they can't so like i begrudingly get it.#but still absolutely wild for the solution to be: do away with their actual arguments about divinity or keyleth's insecurity about#outliving all of vox machina. oh btw we are giving the vision she had of that to vax as a gift from rq or whatever#so he can be inscure about it instead. because he's fate touched or smthn. and that's too abstract for us to explore here so let's just#give him ominous visions.)#the more i have typed the saltier i have gotten i'm sorry it's just WILD TO MEEEE
