not to be like "back in my day" but i rlly think american kids whos parents never told them fucked up stories as a kid are the weakest link. when i was a kid i read a book about rip van winkle where it went into detail about how after he fell asleep for 100 years everyone and everything he had ever known and loved was gone and that he was truly alone. i also was told about a kid who played hide and seek with fairies and was only found fifteen years later dead and fused to the tree she had hidden in.
