Finished my Persona 5 Royal playthrough!! It was so fun! love when games bring me to tears ( ̄∇ ̄)
You can have the one Akira doodle I did. Prior to playing the game I had pretty much 0 persona knowledge besides casually watching the superbutterbuns “persona 5 for beginners” video and the “so this is basically” video but it all pretty much went over my head at the time. Oh! And that it…. Existed
@phantompeaches (hi peach) told me that he’s called Akira in the manga and Ren in the anime. I went for the manga name cause.. idk it sounded cooler to me.
Either way, the silly. His >:] face during palaces and mementos.. Love that for him
#I will say I kept rewatching the so this is basically vid#to the point I probably know it off by heart.#where can we find another do Crimer at this crime of night?#will I make art for this silly game?#who knows#I only realised with my peach how many nightcore videos had a picture of joker being a sad anime boy.#I just thought it was that people liked using the same sad anime boy with cat#damn cat#I’ll sue!#persona 5#persona 5 the royal#persona 5 royal#doodle#my art#art#akira kurusu#ren amamiya

So fun fact about me and the another series; I found out about it back in 2018 just one or two weeks before Ch3 came out and spend the next 3 or 4 years being hooked onto the game until the fixation died down and only returned to me around August or September of lasy year.
Meaning that through 2/3s of Sdra2 i was able to see the chapters as they were coming out and that's honestly something i wish more people in the current fandom could have experienced because it was so fun seeing the hype around a chapter that's soon to come out spike up with all kinds of theories, predictions and people hoping their favorites won't die (i remember i even had a dream once where chapter 5 released and Teruya murdered Iroha by tying her into a train track and waiting for it to run over her after she came to him and told him about being a void and he was like, trying to get rid of all remaining void by killing Iroha himself and wining the class trial, which would in kill Mikado too. Wild shit, but it's a dream you know?). And of course, whenever a new chapter did release the entire fandom would collectively freak out for the entire day as random instagram accs posted Cgs and bits of roughly translated information through the day alongside the deaths and executions and this hype around the newest chapter would sprout all kinds of art, edits and more theories for the following month or two.
All around awesome experience? Not exactly. Because this also means i got to see Linuj's crazy plot twist as they were being revealed and here's where we get to the actual subject of this long ramble/rant; Kokoro Mitsume and how i really wish i could have spoiled myself of what happens in Ch0 because that would have spared me of so much pain.
And let me tell you, when i say pain, i am by no means exaggerating. You people have no idea how much i cried when Ch0 came out. My little 15 year old head was going through the 5 stages of grief over that plot twist, that shit didn't even feel real to me until one or two days after its release.
One thing you gotta know about me is that before i became the Ayame person™ Kokoro was my absolute favorite character of the another series, and if you know me for even just a little while then you know how insanely attached i am to her despite being a minor character who dies 1/3 of the way through the game.
Like, y'all don't understand, i was so happy when i saw that one Cg of her and Mikado in my timeline, so genuinely ecstatic to see more of her after i thought her character done with since the events of Ch2. Can you magine how i felt after watching the character i adored so so much turn out to be a vile human being? I was genuinely so distraught man, i spent a good while being one of those people that ignored everything about the characters irl selves because that twist hurt me so damn much, but even then i was never able to look at that character the same way again, even now she just makes me feel bad.
And it's s not that i think Kokoro is the worst person to have ever existed, i like antagonist/villain characters who've done much worse than her, hell, I don't even think her character was absolutely ruined or anything. When i think about Mitsume nowadays i genuinely find her an interesting case of a good person with big plans who lacked a proper support system or even friends which led her down a path where she became cold and cruel without a semblance of care for her own family so long as she could work on her project, and seeing the difference between the Kokoro we see as a teen and her adult self just makes all of this even more heartbreaking. I still like her, is just that having my perception of this character be completely shattered when Ch0 came out permanently affected how i view her and as much as i still enjoy her character even now I can't help but simultaneously hate her for how she made me feel ❤️
#i hate how emotional the another games make me feel about their characters#i never got this kinda emotional response over anyone in the canon dr games#anyways. you know one thing i realized as i was writing this mess of a post?#i think i subconsciously wrote the dynamic between Beni and Akira similar to how i pictured the one between Kokoro and Emma#when i was younger. like. tall long haired girl that's outgoing and silly#and her tiny short haired neurodivergent gf that looks serious most of the time#because as a kid i really liked Mitsurobi and that's another thing Ch0 violently ripped out of my hands#nowadays they're a full No for me because even if you ignore how weird it would be for Emma. someone who was abused by a parent as a child.#to date someone who abused her child. the age gap between them is just way too big for me to feel comfortable with the idea of them togethe#like i think Kokoro is old enough to be Emma's mom? seeing as the voids are around the same age as the Dra cast#I can't enjoy it anymore but i guess i miss it since i wrote a similar dynamic with my ocs without even realizing#obviously Akira and Beni aren't exact carbon copies or Emma and Kokoro but y'all get what i mean#how fun#hyena ramblings#sdra2#kokoro mitsume#super danganronpa another 2

“ME & YOU?” — hkr
\\ soft yan streamer bf , mod!user , silly fic for y'all , obsessive , implied stalking in the past , implied doxxing //
Akira likes streaming with you.
You both started with meeting each other through an rpg game, agreeing to become his mod, becoming friends, and then meeting in real life and falling in love. It was a normal cliche love story about two gamers falling for each other in your point of view, what about Akira's point of view?
It remains a secret.
You always wondered how he knew all of your favorite things right off the bat, how he knew your awkward gestures, your hobbies and all of that. Maybe he was just really attentive to the things you did..
Akira wasn't a stalker.
He's sweet, he always takes care of you, putting your wants over his. Both of you communicate when something goes wrong, you balance everything. It was a perfect and a normal relationship.
At least that's what you thought.
hkruu: what r we playing today !!
Not_venti: wsg chattttttt
xX_AMI_Xx: r u playing with ur s/o?
yurisghs: hi akiraaaa [akira_pat]
fatgirlsummer: when's the continuation of Until Then ?? ^^
"Until Then? Uh, I mean, probably next week." Akira's eyes glanced over the chat box, watching as many viewers greeted him with good afternoons and nights. "My significant other?" He raised his right eyebrow curiously, reading aloud one of the questions.
"Honestly, I'm not sure if they'll be able to make it on time.." Akira leaned back on his gaming chair, stretching a little.
killlove_i: nauur why [akira_sob]
Not_venti: skibidi will make it on time trust.
tsukasaaaa: I hope they're well ><
cutiepie101: COOP PKEASE !!!
"I'm probably just gonna farm today, not unless Lisa invites me again." He smiles towards the camera, loading up HSR. "I'm not pulling for uh, rappa? The new character I mean, I forgot their name."
llyyyn: lol same
yurisghs: is she good? Ion look at leaks
Not_venti: I'm pulling:))
lamanbrug_01: goodluck to those pulling!!
sdkwohryuu: I want Sunday [akira_sob]
"I want Sunday too.. physically.." Akira pouts, eventually breaking into a silly smile. The rest of the stream going fine as usual, farming here, doing the new quest, companion quest, pulling for Fei Xaio, you know the rest.
A good hour and a half passes and suddenly there's a;
Ding!
"Hey chat, guess who's home!" Akira suddenly brightened, focusing on the game even more as he patiently waited for the same sentence he always heard every single day. Of course, he'd never get tired of it, never.
"I'm home!" A muffled voice could be heard in the background.
Not_venti: I TOKD U THEYD MAKE IT OJ TIME
xX_AMI_Xx: I js woke up whay happened
yurisghs: caught my lonely ass smiling
yumiwgeo: can't relate @yurisighs
Not_venti: LMAO
"You'll find someone yurisghs!" He snickered, quickly exiting out of HSR and logging onto Genshin instead, the familiar bright screen never failing to blind him.
nnsigma [MOD]: hi chat
Not_venti: hi skibidi
yurisghs: halooo
lynnuoo: wsg
yumiwgeo: [akira_wave]
tsukasaaaa: [akira_wave]
"sup babe, yes I ate, I drank water, I showered, I cooked lunch and I did the laundry." Akira's smirk was evident, quickly doing his commissions in-game. If you're wondering he mains Neuvilette.
nnsigma [MOD]: ok good [akira_pat]
nnsigma [MOD]: let's play dti instead ong
Not_venti: real
Guihimoo: [akira_nod]
"No."
About the said ‘Akira is probably just really attentive’ towards you.. let's expand a little bit on that.
The first time you met each other at a nearby Cafe, you were surprised. The pictures of Akira on discord didn't do justice to what he looks like in real life, this guy was walking around as if he just came out of a red carpet..
Aside from that, his personality was still the same as online. Teasing, snarky, he's still got that attitude, and of course playful — he was the fun type you'd want to be friends with. But, he really was your type.
You couldn't resist glancing towards his neck from time to time, hell — you couldn't even make eye contact without being mentally flustered. "Is something wrong?" He'd ask, but you'd immediately shake your head and go along with what he's saying.
I mean, Akira didn't know your address, why are you asking why he knew the way back to your home? He used to live here.
"W-woah.. we have more in common than I thought!" You beamed while Akira smiled softly, it looks like his hard work did pay off. All that late night searching, perfecting and practicing — it was worth it in the very end because you were finally here.
Akira could see you, touch you, feel you, make you feel things you've never felt — ah, how he wishes he could go back in time just to see your horrified expression when you almost got doxxed by someone anonymous.
Of course, he was the one to comfort you at the time, the way you opened up to him about everything, finally letting him know of your feelings.. It was worth every little thing he had worked hard for.
It didn't matter if he had a small or huge fan base what mattered was you being right beside him, experiencing hardships and hope. Akira could do anything, he could try his best — he's not perfect, he has many flaws he'll admit that.
But..
It was worth it if it was you.
Akira was glad that the world hasn't ended yet. Not that it would happen any time soon but — he'd want to be next to you even if it was a life or death situation.
Extras:
"I'm rating you 1 star for the effort. You suck." Akira tapped on the tablet aggressively, while you squirmed right next to him, trying to desperately get your phone case back on — fumbling quite badly.
"I'm rating you 1 star too!"
"You're just mad I'm a trend setter."

My best friend and I came up with a stupid little concept for our silly little "akechi lives don't ask how though" persona 5 AU
So you know how middle school and high schoolers use codenames with their best friends to talk about other people in public. Like referring to someone's crush as "pineapple" we were thinking that akira does that but since they already have codenames he just switches everyone's codenames down one in order of who joined. We used a whiteboard to illustrate what kind of shenanigans could ensue
I'm gonna write down everything that was on the board in case it's difficult to understand when looking at the picture
A key to all the symbols
-> are Akechi's thoughts
On its own are things that are said
Codenames: Akira - Violet, Ryuji - Joker, Morgana - Skull, Ann - Mona, Yusuke- Panther, Makoto - Fox, Futaba - Queen, Haru - Oracle, Akechi - Noir, Sumi - Crow. The only people who know and understand the codename switch are Ann, Akira and Ryuji and they use it to gossip
The fun begins when we decided to torture Akechi by having him accidently overhear almost every conversation where these confusing nicknames are used.
Akechi overhears:
Akira: omg Noir is so cute
-> cries and calls Ann
[This is the phone call Akechi has with Ann, which is labeled with 3 on the whiteboard:
Akechi: heyyy Ann so funny story um does Akira like...yknow...like Noir? Haru?
Ann, knowing the truth and thinking this is the funniest thing ever: omg yea girl he totally for real likes Noir
Akechi, wanting to die a lil bit: haha cool thats great thx bye]
"Queen is gonna ask out Crow"
-> gag, ew, distance from Makoto bc omg WHY
"Fox and Oracle are dating"
-> ?? I thought Oracle was a lesbian??
"Shujin is gonna fall apart now that Fox left"
-> he went?? to Kosei?? hello??
Akira: "Skull is so heavy T^T like he decides fo sleep right on my ribs it hurts"
-> ?????
Akira: "so yea I'm gonna ask Noir to go to the jazz club tonight, since it's like, our place, yknow"
-> WHAT THE FUCK.
-> (gets a text from akira to go to the jazz club 2 minutes later)
4. Akechi rants to sumi about it cause he doesn't trust ann anymore
☆ has a detective board with w/ quotes ect.
☆ sumi also tries to help (even more confused than he is)
Ann: violet needs to ask noir out already
Ryuji: I know dude, like I love the guy but, c'mon
-> SUMI'S IN ON IT TOO T^T
Akira does this needlessly complicated name system just to be messy. He doesn't plan on akechi finding out but he keeps it complicated in case any of the others overhear him. He didn't think the possibility of akechi overhearing was very high but Akechi loves to eavesdrop.

A/N - My love for the cowboy space dad, Sam Coe, has eclipsed to the point where I am now writing him fanfic...what a time to be alive, y'all. Anyway, enjoy the results of my brain rot, and let me know what you thought of it >.> More may be to come if he continues to plague my every waking thought
WARNINGS: Some angst on poor Cora's part, thanks to Lillian. Some Lillian bashing, thanks to reader. It's not specified if reader and Sam are fully together at this point in the story, but it's implied. Post 'Matters of the Hart' mission.
The bay of the Razorleaf slowly descended with a hydraulic hiss, finally clanking against the tarmac of a landing pad. From the bottom of the ramp, you watched as the dusty, endlessly sun-bleached landscape of Akira came into view. The first unfiltered breath of the atmosphere hit the back of your throat unpleasantly. How anyone tolerated such a low humidity every single day, you couldn’t guess. Akila was kind enough not to be a sweltering wasteland on top of it all, so…small victories there.
You’d not been much impressed with the sight of the planet the first time you’d landed on it, and it still gave no better impression now. Sand-swept walls and buildings rose from an equally monotone environment. It wasn’t hard to picture the planet might one day just swallow the city whole and leave nothing after to show there’d been civilization there. Perhaps through sheer stubbornness and pride, the Akila City citizens kept their place in the galaxy.
A long-suffering sigh and a set of muted footsteps approach from your right. Sam stops beside you and gazes across his home planet with equal apprehension. His arms cross and he levels his hometown’s ‘Welcome to Akila City’ archway a woeful stare.
“Never gets any easier…”
You’re not surprised by his reluctance to return home. A visit to Jacob Coe was never an occasion to celebrate, and this one would be particularly disappointing, given Sam would also be relinquishing his daughter to Lillian for that long-time-promised week vacation Cora mentioned every opportunity she could. You didn’t fault the almost-teen for being excited to see her mother, but it wasn’t hard to miss Sam’s lack of enthusiasm for the whole affair. He loved his daughter above anything else, and letting her go for such a length of time wouldn’t be easy.
This stop was a ‘two birds, one stone’ of all of Sam’s least favorite activities. His less-than-cheery mood was understandable, and you couldn’t help but share this feeling. After months of the inquisitive girl aboard your vessel, you’d gotten so used to the random questions and cringe-inducing jokes that the impending silence was admittedly quite daunting.
Akila just so happened to be the closest planet to where Lillian had finished up a month-long assignment. With the promise that she had time-off to spend, Sam had agreed to have the Ranger pick Cora up here, and it would ultimately be where you and Sam retrieved her after their time together. It ate the cowboy up inside, you could tell. But he kept quiet and put on a facade of support if only for Cora’s sake.
“I don’t see Lillian’s ship.” He added, sweeping his gaze past the entrance to the city and across to the other landing pads. Concern began to overtake the displeasure of being on Akila, and you could instantly follow where his internal thoughts were leading.
“We did get here earlier than planned.” You finally say, laying a calming hand on the man’s jacketed arm and earning his attention. It’s not like you were were defending the woman, but it was a little silly to assume anything when the Razorleaf had just touched down almost 2 hours before you’d agreed to rendezvous with the Ranger. You might dislike Lillian Hart, but you weren’t that petty. “Give it some time.”
“Yeah, yeah…you’re right.” After an affirming deep breath and a weary shake of his head, some of the tension in his shoulders eases. Some, but not all. “I’m just…not too optimistic about this.”
“I know.”
“She’s flaked before, and this one means a whole lot to Cora.” He went on, as if you weren’t already aware of the meaning behind it all. “I can’t help but worry she’s not gonna show.”
“We’ll handle that if it comes to it. For now, just take a breath.” You say, flashing him your best reassuring smile. Even he could tell it was a little forced, but he did return the gesture with a muted one of his own. At the very least, you made sure he didn’t have to face whatever might happen by himself.
Razorleaf’s airlock releases behind you, and Cora’s beaming smile leaves the ship before she does, her small suitcase of belongings in tow behind her. You’re willing to bet there are more books than there are clothes in there, but hey, you wouldn’t judge. She blunders down the ramp with an energy you’d never seen before, curls bouncing atop her head the whole way, finally coming to a breathless stop next to her father.
“Is she here yet?” She questions, eyes already darting around the spaceport before receiving an answer.
“Not just yet, string bean.” Sam gave her hair a good-natured rustle, smile regaining some of its warmth as he addressed his daughter. “I’ve got some business with your grandpa first, so we arrived a bit early. I’m sure she’ll be touching down soon enough.”
You don’t comment on the edge of uncertainty that accompanies that last part. And thankfully, Cora doesn’t ask to go with her father for a family visit. Sam always preferred her to be as far away from Jacob as possible. At some point, you assume Cora understood why, though she’d never directly voiced it.
Sam pats his daughter’s cheek affectionately. “I shouldn’t be too long. Y/N’s gonna keep you company until your mother gets here. Don’t you go anywhere until I get back to say goodbye, alright?”
“I won’t.”
“Promise?”
Cora gives an exaggerated little roll of her eyes, but her smile is ever-present. “I promise, dad."
“That a’girl.” He says, leaning down to place a gentle kiss against the top of her head. Then, his attention turns to you. “You two gonna be alright?”
“We’ll be just fine.” Is your reply, promising through unspoken word to keep Cora safe and sound while he was away. The reassurance is what he needed most, and you were more than happy to provide it. “We’ll make sure to have way more fun than you will.”
“Heh. Yeah, well…that won’t be too hard.” Sam’s head tilted a little, eyes squinting, already picturing the impending encounter with his own father. “I’ll comm you when I’m done.”
You wave your companion goodbye, watching him disappear past the protective walls of Akila City, then turn to the girl practically buzzing with excitement beside you. “We’ve got a bit of time to kill. So…where to first?”
This earns you an amused laugh, and the two of you begin walking towards the entrance of the city. “Do you even need to ask?”
“I figured today might be the day you just surprise me.”
You’re not sure how much time you spend standing around watching Cora browse the many books in Akila City’s—woefully small, in your opinion—selection. Seeing her over the moon at each new title, eyes scanning the summaries and even skimming the inner pages never got old. Her enthusiasm for the first new book she’d laid eyes on was just as exuberant as what was possibly the 18th book that afternoon.
The girl was a talker, chatting up the bookstore owners with the passion of a scholar. You could tell the women weren’t used to having someone so forthcoming with their love of literature in their store, but they quickly joined Cora’s wavelength and discussed their favorite volumes at length.
More than content to stand off to the side and let the girl have her fun, you interjected where appropriate, but for the most part just let the conversation go without you. Cora could talk for two people, anyway.
Eventually, even she had her fill of the bookstore, stomach grumbling with the need for food. You walked out of the store only a few hundred credits poorer—a miracle if there ever was one—and headed off to the chunks establishment just down the way. Akila was a maze at the best of times, but for once you managed to navigate the streets with little trouble.
You stood in line and debated with the young bibliophile what the best flavor of chunks was, but couldn’t come to an agreement. Your own favorite was completely out of stock when you managed to get help from the attendant, so you went with Cora’s favorite instead.
With sated stomachs and a few new books for Cora in tow, you return to the spaceport to wait on the ship until either Sam or Lillian arrive. One glance around at the other landing pads confirms that Lillian’s ship had still not touched down. Sam still hadn’t comm’d you after an hour and a half, which meant his meeting with Jacob probably wasn’t going well. Regardless, you knew he’d make his way back to the Razorleaf in time to see his daughter off, even if it meant leaving business unfinished with his father.
You hid your worry behind a carefully neutral interest in whatever Cora had been talking about while you walked back to the Razorleaf, but that pit of dread began to dig its way into your stomach. Anger simmered right behind it. Cora didn’t seem to notice your rapidly worsening mood, which was all the better. If your fears turned out to be unwarranted, no need to rub it off on the girl.
When the ship’s communicator finally chimed with an incoming transmission, both yours and Cora’s heads jerked up. Being closer to the cockpit, you slid into the captain’s chair just as Cora ran by your side. Immediately, you knew it wasn’t Sam reaching out, and instead the woman you were meant to be meeting in…28 minutes. Cora’s face lit up with the prospect that it was her mother calling to tell them she was almost there.
You couldn’t bring yourself to be that optimistic.
One touch on your control panel accepted the transmission. Before you could even issue the standard greeting, Cora chimed in with a bubbly, “Hi, Mom!”
Hearing her daughter’s voice had caught the Ranger off guard. There was a pause before she responded. “Cora, angel…how are you?”
Her tone of voice made you stiffen in your seat, mouth pressing into a thin line, but Cora didn’t notice. She leaned forward against your chair’s armrest.
“I’m great! Are you almost here? I’ve got my bag all packed, so as soon as Dad comes back from Grandpa’s we can leave.”
“Ah, I was actually hoping to speak with your dad. Do you know how long he’ll be?”
Figures she’d try to speak with Sam instead of breaking her daughter’s heart directly, you think bitterly. You wondered if she even realized how selfish it was to put the responsibility on her ex-husband to break this crushing news.
“I’m sure he’ll be here soon. And I found a few books we can read together while we travel to wherever we are going. I know you’ll like them.”
Your heart broke further with each new word the curly-haired pre-teen spoke, knowing what was about to happen. The taste of your chunks packet earlier was overshadowed by the bitterness of anger as it bubbled hotter under your skin.
“That’s great, sweetie, but…” Lillian’s voice trailed off, guilt or embarrassment or some equally fitting emotion coloring her tone. Perhaps she’d realized that there was no softening the blow she was about to deliver. “…listen. Something came up that I have to take care of. I’m so sorry, Cora. I’m not gonna be able to make it this time.”
A full second, maybe two, of silence passed, Cora processing what her mother had said. Seeing the girl’s face morph from elation at hearing her mother’s voice to something akin to confused betrayal tore at the deepest parts of your heart. If you could have saved her from this, you would have. But Cora being in the ship meant that she’d hear every word spoken no matter where in the craft she was.
“Oh.”
That one word, uttered with such devastating resignation. Cora straightened from leaning across your armrest and stood there with a carefully put together mask. You could see every crack and fracture in the young girl’s facade, but she put up a valiant effort to appear unaffected.
Lillian must have heard the same, and continued again before you could interject anything.
“I know how much you were looking forward to this, and trust me when I say I was too. I’d love nothing more than to take you away to a little paradise together and just spend the days hangin’ out without a care in the world.” Lillian’s attempts at smoothing over the hurt did nothing at all to fix anything about this. “I promise you, we’ll get together and have our week-long vacation, do or die, one of these days.”
Cora didn’t say anything. So unlike the chatty pre-teen. She looked down at her shoes, before quietly taking a hold of her suitcase you now realized she’d dragged with her in her rush to the cockpit.
“It’s alright, mom. We’ll figure it out someday.” Dear God, she barely sounded like Cora…all color was missing from her voice. So little life.
“I love you, you know that?”
“I know.” And with that, she turned and padded her way back to the cot at the back of the ship. Perhaps she didn’t want you to witness her misery, because she went so far as to close the hatch to the cockpit, leaving you by yourself with Lillian still connected. Even with the hatch closed, Cora might still hear the conversation, but given everything that had happened, you no longer gave a damn.
“What is it this time, Lillian?” Your voice is full of barely restrained venom as you lean forward in your chair. You can’t see the woman through the audio transmission, but you were glaring anyway. “What’s so important that you couldn’t keep your promise to your daughter?”
The sweetness present when she’d spoken with Cora was absent, replaced by cold indifference when addressing you. The contrast was so stark, if you hadn’t already known her, you’d say they were two separate women. “You talk like this doesn’t hurt me just as much as it does Cora.”
“Because it doesn’t.” You say, reminding yourself to restrain the worst of your emotions. It wouldn’t do Cora any favors by cursing out her absentee mother from the other room. That wasn’t what the girl needed right now. Your head shakes with a rueful scoff. “If you could only see, Lilian…the way that girl’s face shattered. Then maybe you’d understand just how much more she’s hurting. But no, instead you do this over comms where you don’t have to look her in the eyes. Hell, you were going to put it on Sam to break the news, weren’t you?”
Lillian, perhaps smartly, doesn’t rise to that particular insinuation. “I do what I can, when I can to be there. It’s unfortunately a lot less than I’d like, but my duty is to protect the people of Freestar Space. I have obligations I can’t just ignore.”
“You seem to have forgotten your obligations as a mother in the process.”
“I’d give anything to be there with my little girl. Don’t ever imply I wouldn’t.”
“If that were the case, you’d have found someone else to handle whatever ‘came up.’ When it comes down to it, you don’t give anything, and you need to. Each missed visit convinces her that she’s another step further down on your list of priorities. What do you think happens when she believes she’s at the bottom?” You retort, already exhausted over this whole conversation.
“Cora knows how much she means to me, how important she is.” Funny, you think Lillian almost has herself convinced.
If it kept going at this rate, you were likely to start yelling, and that wouldn’t end well. Besides, Cora needed someone to be with her right now, so things needed to end quickly.
You let out a heavy, exasperated sigh, voice growing much quieter as you reigned in your fury. “Look, Lillian…Sam already explained this to you. You can’t keep doing this. Cora can’t. She’s already 12. 13 in just a few months. Before you know it, she won’t be a child anymore. At this rate, there will come a point when she decides waiting for you to bother isn’t worth the heartache. There will come a day when you retire, when the need to fulfill a duty is over and done, and she will not be there. Because in the moments when it mattered—really mattered—you weren’t there for her. You realize that, right?”
You hear the woman sigh, and deep down, you know she hates that this conversation ever had to take place as much as you do. You know, really, that Lillian had good intentions with her promises. And that’s what made it all the more frustrating when she failed to deliver. She was well aware of how important this all was. Her damned chronic workaholic personality and inability to set aside the needs of the many just wouldn’t allow her to put anything else above it. Even at the cost of her daughter’s trust and happiness.
“You sound more like her mother than I do sometimes…” The Ranger admits tiredly. “I don’t know whether to be angry or grateful.”
“Honestly, I don’t care how you feel about it.” You say with a shrug. “She needs someone to be there for her. Sam is a wonderful father, and always there when it counts, but that girl needs a mother too. I know I’ll never replace you in her heart, it's not something I'm trying to do anyway. But I’ll fill whatever role she needs me to be, if it keeps her smiling.”
You hear a muffled beeping through the transmission, followed by Lillian’s muttered curse. “Damn it…looks like I’m about to have company.”
“Spacers?” You weren’t really concerned, or even cared, and asked only out of obligation.
“Crimson Fleet, I think.” There’s a pause, and you know that the conversation had come to an end. Nothing had resolved, but you knew Lillian wasn’t likely to change who she was after a short talk. “Listen, tell Cora I love her. I expect I’ll hear from Sam later on about this. He has every right to be angry. I am who I am, and that’s exactly the reason we never would have worked out in the end. I only regret Cora is suffering because of it. But for now, duty calls.”
Always duty with this woman. “Be safe, Lillian.” You bid, already reaching for the console button to end the transmission.
“You too.”
The audio cuts off abruptly, and you lean back in your chair with a slow inhale. Dragging your hands down your face, you release the last of your anger in a harsh exhale. Best to get rid of it now, so it wasn’t obvious when you went to see Cora. Not wasting anymore time, you stand from the chair and open the hatch.
You find Cora sat on your cot, a thousand-yard stare fixed at some point on the floor in front of her. Her smile was long gone, replaced instead by the remains of whatever facade she’d crafted to appear put together and ok. The little suitcase she’d packed with all her belongings sat a few feet away. It was zipped halfway open, as if she’d began to unpack, but then thought better of it.
A sad sigh leaves your lips. For a moment, you just watch her, calculating how best to approach this conversation. Sam was much better equipped to handle something like this, but you weren’t sure how much longer he’d be, and it pained you having to see her in such despair. You couldn’t just sit back and let her stew in whatever thoughts might be dragging her further down.
You slowly approach the still-silent Cora, electing to sit at her side just a few inches apart. Whether she wanted physical comfort, or just someone to be nearby, you weren’t sure. But you were close enough that, should she need you, she didn’t need to go far.
And for awhile, the two of you just…sit there. Words fail you, and try as hard as you might to find the right ones to say that might heal some of the hurt in Cora’s heart, nothing feels good enough. But eventually, you hear the girl sniffle. The first sign that her careful hold on her emotions was beginning to crack.
“Mom is a good Ranger. She’s out there saving lots of lives and making the galaxy less dangerous.” Cora’s wavering voice says, and you nearly want to cry yourself hearing just how hard it was for her not to shed those tears. Perhaps this was something she told herself each day as justification for her mother's constant absence. “I know she’ll make it up to me one day. She always does, eventually.”
You bite your lip. “Cora-“
“But…just once,” another sniffle breaks through, and then the first tear slides down her cheek, “I was hoping that…that it would all go right and we’d be a-able to see each other for a whole week. There’s s-so much I want to show her and talk to…to her about.”
More tears follow the first, and you lift your sleeve to wipe them from her face gently. But they keep coming, now that the floodgates had opened, and Cora openly wept as she sat beside you, her true feelings spilling over in bucketfuls. You did your best to keep up, but it only takes minutes for her to be shaking with the overwhelming sadness.
“I just want my mom…” She sobs, covering her eyes with her hands to try stopping the flow. “That’s all.”
A sharp cry has you reaching for her shoulders and pulling the girl in close, and your heart leaps when she forcefully wraps her arms around your middle and buries her tear-stained face in your shirt. What you wouldn’t give to drag Lillian here by the hair and force her to be here for her daughter…
With soothing ‘shushing’ noises, you gently rock her back and forth, one hand patting her back and the other holding her head close. You don’t know what to say to her, truly. Finding the words to tell Lillian how much you thought she failed her daughter constantly and consistently was easy. Finding the words to tell her child that she deserved so much more than what she was being given? That was much more difficult.
You sat there while Cora poured her heart out. Through the sobs, she mumbled muffled and incoherent sentences into your shirt. You’re not sure what half of them were, but if she just wanted to get it all out and vent, that was fine with you. Your shirt was damp with her tears, but that was alright too. Nothing would pull you away from offering whatever support you could while she worked her way through the many emotions.
Eventually, Cora’s sobbing began to ebb, the shaking becoming less pronounced. Her breathing evens to something less stuttered and shallow, and before too long you realize she’d managed to cry herself to sleep against your side. The poor thing…you continued the gentle rocking motion just in case, not wanting to wake her up.
A dull beeping noise caught your attention, and you look up towards the cockpit where it emanated from. Your communicator, you realized. That was probably Sam, wanting to let you know that he was done with whatever him and Jacob had needed to discuss. Part of you thinks to get up and answer, but the thought of jostling Cora awake was too much. You sat there, figuring that Sam would return to the ship to look for the two of you.
If you had to guess, it was about ten minutes before you heard the footsteps coming up the Razorleaf’s ramp. You didn’t move from your spot, listening as the airlock hissed open. Somehow, the noise didn’t wake the exhausted Cora, who barely moved from her place next to you.
Sam nearly walked past you sitting on the cot, but his peripheral vision caught your presence, and he stopped. He took in the sight of his daughter curled into your side, her posture clearly indicating that she’d been crying. You met his gaze with a stony, cold fury, one he understood wasn’t directed at him personally. That one, silent stare was all he needed to figure out what had occurred while he’d been away.
The inquisitive expression he’d worn coming in vanished, jaw setting tightly. Clearly agitated, Sam stepped a few paces away, hand rubbing along his jaw in an effort to remain calm in the face of what Lillian had put his daughter through once again. He looked like he wanted to throw something. His breathing was more pronounced, though came through in slow, methodical inhale and exhales through his nose. Truthfully, you don’t think you’d ever seen Sam so angry.
In time, he finds himself again, stowing away the anger for the sake of his daughter. He could vent his feelings to Lillian later, when Cora wouldn’t hear it, but for now the important thing was making sure his daughter was alright. That was something you would never grow tired of seeing; Sam’s absolute dedication to his little girl, no matter what.
He moves to sit on her other side, and leans down to kiss the top of her head. It didn’t matter to him if she was still sleeping. You slowly move to shift Cora’s weight over to Sam, and somehow manage it without waking the sleeping pre-teen. She stirs, but her eyes never open.
Sam takes off his cowboy hat and sets it next to him, leaning back and holding Cora closer to him. He settles in to sit there for awhile, unsure how long she’ll be out for. Then, his eyes glance up to meet your own, holding them with a look so full of…something, that you can’t look away.
“Thank you. You were there for her when she needed it.” He says, his voice raspy and quiet so as not to wake Cora. And while you know he couldn’t have heard your conversation with Lillian before, it’s eerie how similar his words were. “I appreciate that beyond words.”
You give a little shrug, eyes drifting back down to the girl in his arms. “She needs her dad now.”
“And you, Y/N.” He says, drawing your attention back up to him. He offers the smallest of smiles. “She needs you too.”
Unsure of what to say, you simply sit back and make yourself comfortable, waiting for Cora to awaken. Your hand rubs along her back, hoping that the two of you would somehow be able to fix some of what Lillian had broken.

Subplot 1.0 - Wolves is Watching
PREV | NEXT
Subplots are just a little peek at what's going on in other corners of the save file (because I am unwell and unhinged and can't stop sharing things about this silly little story I'm playing, lol). You can totally skip them, but when you see these characters in the main story later, you might have some fun insight into their motives.
Don't worry; Akira is definitely getting a POV 😈
Fun tidbit: Justin "JJ" Parks was a sim I had in my game made by the fabulous @florwal. He randomly showed up in Alice and Miko's scene, and I couldn't move him because I was using WW to pose a bunch of other characters. I checked his household, and he was a werewolf (lol, idk how it happened. This game is chaotic sometimes), so I decided to make him part of the story.
(Also, a thousand paragraphs of appreciation for The Crown by @rheya28. I could not have dreamed of a more perfect spot for Jacques Villareal to run)
[TRANSCRIPT]
Jacques: Ah, JJ, the baby wolf. You shouldn’t be here unless we have a problem.
JJ: The witches are—
Jacques: I’m going to stop you right there. That doesn’t sound like a “we” problem.
JJ: It happened on campus. Someone was taking pictures of The Order, and you know how witches are about their kids.
Jacques: Almost as bad as vampires. What crew? It better not be Elmyra; she’s supposed to stay in Oasis Springs.
JJ: [hesitates]...No crew. It was just other students.
Jacques: Are you fucking kidding me?
JJ: No! The witches chased them for a little while and then let them go.
Jacques: And you interrupted me for this? What the fuck am I supposed to do with that information?
JJ: [choking] Never slay a witch with a power that might…be…useful…
JJ: That’s what my ma always said. Witches don’t want to lose anymore of their own, so they don’t kill another witch who might have a power they can use.
Jacques: Good job, wolfy. I’m pleased. Have a drink. Take a load off. Akira!
Jacques: Congratulations. You’re going to college. Pick a major. JJ will show you who to keep an eye on.
Akira: No.
Jacques: I don’t want any harm to come to them until I know how much they’re worth to the witches.
Akira: I said no.
Jacques: That sounds suspiciously like you are going back on your word. What would your sister say?
Akira: That you’re a piece of shit, and she wouldn’t spit on you if you were on fire.
Jacques: You should consider psychology. Might help you improve your negative worldview.
Akira: Get fucked.
Jacques: I intend to. Oh, and Akira, no swords.

Spring 2024 Anime Overview: Train to the End of the World and Tonari no Yokai-san
Who knows if poor Whisper Me a Love Song (a cute yuri anime about a girl band... with dire animation conditions so it's currently stuck on episode 10 with the last two episodes delayed indefinitely) is ever going to finish, but here’s some my first post reviewing the rest of what I watched.
Delicious in Dungeon continued to kill it with the second half of the season, kicking into high gear and introducing cranky catgirls, but you can see my general thoughts on the show here.
Train to the End of the World
I love bizarre anime, especially bizarre anime starring loveable weird girls, and Trainabsolutely delivers.
A teenage girl named Yoka is bullied by a slimy businessman into pushing a button that activates the 7G cellular network across Japan, but said network warps and changes Japan completely, having bizarre effects on the citizens. For example, all the adults in Yoka's hometown have been transformed into animals and are starting to act like animals.
Shizuru is Yoka's best friend, and she said some seriously nasty things to Yoka before her friend left town. Yoka's been missing ever since the 7G incident and Shizuru is desperate to find her and apologize. So when she sees a picture showing Yoka in Ikebukuro, she decides to drive a train to find her, and her friends Reimi, Akira, Nadeshiko, and also her dog come along. As they travel across the warped Japan, they face many weird encounters and obstacles.
Train to the End of the World is greatly entertaining, as we see the girls encounter nihiists with mushrooms growing out of their heads, screaming goatmen that ram into the train and even zombies on their journey. The dialogue is snappy, and the girls all have a fun personalities. As a lover of girls doing silly violence, I also adored how everyone besides Akira (who is the smart one) has ridiculous combat skills, with Shizuru having her own form of martial art, Reimi being physically unstoppable when she's mad, and Nadeshiko might come off as the ladylike bow and error wielder...but actually she also can beat the shit out of people with said bow as a blunt object. It's fun to watch them go wild.
An example of how ridiculous the show can get is the encounter with the zombies--the absolutely bizarre logic is that since zombies are supposed to be dead to all sensation, arousal will make them blow up. Instead of the girls acting sexy to arouse them like most anime would do, they just say dirty words, and Akira recites a whole paragraph from Lady Chatterley's Lover that she apparently memorized, and they sing a hilariously bawdy folk song. This episode DOES contain the show's biggest moment of sexualizing the teenage girls though- a hyper detailed panty shot that was super jarring considering the show avoided fanservice before then.
And the next episode had Nadeshiko forced to don a somewhat skimpy outfit. Those are the only two instances of fanservice, but that episode also had a joke where this character in this children's cartoon come to life's entire gimmick was that she was suicidal. It was probably meant to be "lol look how inappropriate this would be for children" but it still felt fairly mean spirited at times.
Despite those hiccups to watch out for, the anime works because it never forgets it's core theme or friendship--the relationships between the girls are developed at a good pace, and Shizuru's guilt over what she did to Yoka is explored well too. It's not just a ridiculous anime, it has a heart too. So if an anime where a girl punches a bear in the face and arms herself with vegetables appeals to you…check it out!
Tonari No Yokai-san
Tonari no Yokai-san takes place in a world where yokai have integrated into human society. The central characters are Buchio, a cat who became a nekomata after living to twenty, and Jiro, a crow tengu who is close friends with a little girl he calls Mu-chan.
This is a very sweet, gentle series that has some heartwrenching and dark undertones occasionally. Mu’s father has been lost to an eerie void, and a lot of the stories focus on grief. The immediate comparison tone and content-wise is Natsume’s Book of Friends, but it distinguishes itself by presenting a world where yokai are very much part of society, to the point where they have to do paperwork and pay taxes. (There was also a confirmation that one character is bisexual when his backstory involves dating a guy yokai, so that was nice, especially since he's currently in a relationship with a car yokai that's probably meant to be romantic? Yes I said car yokai it is his car.)
There’s also some sci-fi elements mixed in with alternate timelines and what not. I think these elements could be integrated more smoothly, but they are pretty novel. It’s a really solid series.
I do love stories about yokai and I thought it was enjoyable and touching, but it didn’t rock my world the way I wanted it to…it might be that it followed too many characters at once so I couldn’t dig into any of them the way I really wanted to. Still, it’s a sweet, tender and pleasant watch, I definitely rec it.

I was left unattended there's a new au
Haru Sakura au for Persona 5
P5 au where Haru moves into LeBlanc's attic after she joins the team
Joker lives in the Sakura house by then, has his own room, and they've just been using the attic as a hideout
They go and get Haru and Mona back and. They all watch her sleep on the couch, and no one wants her to go back home.
"...you think Boss would let her stay here?"
"It's worth asking..."
So, Haru lives above Leblanc. She gets her stuff from her old house, so the attic has a bigger bed in it, a vanity, and they all build an Ikea dresser for some of her clothes
In this one she decides to take a gap year. A year spent, learning to love and to live. A year learning to be Big Sis Haru
Anyways.
Haru: I, I think I'm gay,
Akira: hey, hey it's okay, do you want a hug?
Sojiro: now, I'm not up to date with the world and stuff, but you love who you love, you can't choose that. Anyone that gives you hell? Just send them to me, and they'll never bother you again
Futaba: ...was it Makoto or Ann?
Sojiro: Futaba-!
Haru: Mako-chan, shes- gosh,, I could probably go on for hours,
Akira: I'll listen if you want. I'm sure Dad and 'Taba have other things to do
Sojiro: I can listen to anything else. Just, not love stuff. Don't wanna picture you kids getting older
Futaba: I have to bully kids on Roblox
Haru gets a room in the Sakura house too. Hers is, technically the attic again, but it's big. It was a surprise too, Sojiro paid Ryuji and Makoto and Akira to fix it up, make it liveable
Makoto goes away for the first semester. Kyoto, then back to Tokyo. She and Haru call and text, video call too. Haru praises her haircut, and smiles when she wishes Makoto luck with a date. Doesn't know why her chest feels heavy
Makoto's first day back is day one of strikers. Ann and Akira and Ryuji are going to pick her up from the airport, and Haru doesn't originally want to go, but. Makoto's last text before she loses service is just
"I can't wait to see you again, you don't even know how much I've missed you. Would it be too forward to ask for a hug?"
Haru leaps out of bed and down the stairs, and gets to the van just as they're about to leave
Ann: girl- you're in your PJs??
Akira: you said you didn't want to...
Haru: i- I want to be there! Please,
And she wrings her hands, waiting and listening to the others talk, and-
"Haru!"
Makoto is beaming, undercut and more unevenly cut hair. Wearing a flannel and some shorts, comfy clothes, but it still makes Haru forget to breathe
Makoto pauses, to ask for that hug, be a little cheeky, and Haru just. Crushes her. Sniffling slightly into her shoulder, mutters a soft "I missed you so much,,"
And they're friends. They're friends! Haru has to keep insisting this to her brother, and her sibling, and Ann-
Makoto sits close to her the entire time. Leans over to make jokes, and smiles at her with that, new, silly smile she's found
And. Makoto, at some point in Strikers, breaks the news that she's staying in Kyoto for the year. To finish her year. The program director likes her, it seems
Haru acts normal about it, but when she's alone later, Akira finds her and wraps an arm around his sister
Akira: it sucks, huh?
Haru, wiping her tears: it does,, but- this is good for her studying,,
And the others, they're talking to a more demure Makoto
Ann: got a girl in Kyoto?
Makoto: sort of? She, doesn't want to be exclusive. And, I'm thinking I might actually not like her as much as I'd thought
Ryuji: huh? For Real?
Makoto: ...there's someone else I'm now realizing I may be, in love with
Later on, it's like March now, the next school year is a month away, and
Haru: so, then Sojiro said-
Makoto: I'm coming back to Tokyo!
Haru: ...you are?
Makoto: I, I am. I'm going to Tokyo U for my second year. Is, does this make you, happy?
Haru: you silly girl, I'm ecstatic! But, is this what you want? What about your girlfriend?
Makoto: she broke up with me. I deserved it, it's. A long story. I'll tell it to you when I'm home?
Haru: yeah,, when you're home,,
The second airport reunion is much more emotional. Makoto sprints through a crowd, and swings Haru around, who's actually crying and just. They both missed each other so much
Makoto had a plan. She had it all worked out, but, in the moment, she just-
Makoto: I missed you so much, I love you, Haru, I-
Haru: *gay shut down as Makoto rambles a little, then springs up for a messy kiss*
So then they're dating. Haru starts her first year as Makoto does her second, and it's. They're both in much better places
Sojiro has to get used to his newest and oldest daughter coming down from her attic room in the morning with her girlfriend, who he knows already, but who gets so goddamn awkward around him now
Futaba snickers and teases as Makoto gets so red, and Akira winks and teases, and Haru gets pink and giggles back, and just. She's in a much better place in life
A gayer place
Makoto would have had a year of gay exploration and learning about herself in the background. She comes back to Tokyo knowing she's more butch, having a new style and absolutely sure she's head over heels for Haru
Haru's been growing her hair out. It's ponytail length, and she's just, more at ease with herself
Makoto spends her first night back in Tokyo at Sae's, but then, she meets Haru for a late lunch, and they go back to Haru's room, and, the giddy little make out, and the way they just. Talk stuff out while curled up in Haru's big bed
Makoto: I've had a crush on you since Beauty Thief
Haru: I, it took me a bit longer. Christmas Eve,
Makoto: I'm so glad I didn't stay in Kyoto any longer. Being apart from the others, from *you*, it was necessary for finding myself, but it was almost too much
Akira goes up to Haru's room the next day and finds the GFs playing Smash Bros or something
Haru, in Makoto's flannel and a soft skirt. And then Makoto, in a sports bra and butch boxers and just
Akira: oh. I didn't know Makoto, slept over
Makoto: we didn't-
Haru: she just slept over, 'Kira, take your horny brain elsewhere. What's up?
Akira: Dad and I are making hotpot for tonight, Ryuji and Yusuke are coming over, sleeping over in the living room. Do you two wanna join?
Haru: Mako-chan?
Makoto: I'm down. I- are we going to join the guys downstairs? Or-
Akira: ...you're staying over again?
Haru: mm! We'll hang out with them, but I'm still owed my solo Mako time
So yeah.

Do you wish there were more comics with the same "literally value" as the greates and most sophisticated books? Or would the talent be wasted on these silly little picture books?
I have reluctantly concluded that comics belongs more to the visual arts than to literature. The attempt on the part of ambitious writers to make it a high literary form eventually failed, leading those writers to leave comics for novels, and for the "literary" graphic novel itself to dwindle into YA propaganda, a mere prop in the "banned book" wars.
(Elif Batuman ingeniously grasped the relevant cultural logic years ago: the secret interrelation of American comics's two most characteristic genres, the superhero saga and the misery memoir, how they suture individual time to historical time, and therefore inevitably serve together the ends of progressive propagandists for the right side of history, as indicated by her application of Lukács's theory of the historical novel. And then she never wrote about comics again—except, in anticipation of the discussion of "black holes" at the end of this post, to extol the filth of Pigpen.)
I am now more interested in comics, to whatever extent I am still interested in comics, that explore the medium's potential as a visual form than those that try to recapitulate the effects of the novel in the absence of the novel's verbal density.
(Note, for example, how often Alan Moore, the best comic-book writer qua writer, "cheats" by turning his comics into pure prose, in the literal prose passages of Watchmen or Providence, or in the long and intricate narrative captions of Swamp Thing or soliloquies of From Hell. Only in the latter work, and perhaps in the also prosy Lost Girls, did he collaborate with an artist as concerned to make an innovative statement in the history of visual art as Moore was to take his place in literary history.)
In more direct answer to your question, then, I wouldn't demote comics below "real art" or whatever, but trying to make them into literature increasingly seems to me misguided. As I wrote in my review of the Norton Critical Edition of A Contract with God, considered by some the inaugural graphic novel, and the first graphic novel to take its place in Norton's canon,
Critics like Gary Groth, founder of The Comics Journal and hanging-judge of comics criticism, whose 1988 dissent on Eisner’s stellar reputation in the field the Norton volume reprints, complain of Eisner’s simplicity and melodrama. They aren’t wrong, but this too strictly mis-applies literary standards and undervalues the integrity and authority of his images. It’s true that Eisner makes no philosophical innovation with his parabolic crossing of the The Book of Job with Silas Marner; the story just re-states the ancient problem of theodicy. But the power is in the statement itself. If A Contract with God can’t compare to the intellectual sophistication of a Saul Bellow, Eisner’s dense line work and dynamic compositions, his use of image as text and text as image, offer a visual correlate to Bellow’s verbal richness. It’s only aesthetically illegitimate if you don’t take the visual seriously enough.
My review of the semi-illiterate visual extravaganza Akira also pertains here:
So mighty is Otomo’s storytelling craft that it paradoxically consumes attention even as it commands it, which neither Miller nor Moore, neither Jodorowsky nor Peeters, would be willing to do. In other words, you are never tempted to linger, but only to speed on. It is only a very slight exaggeration to say that one of Akira‘s six 400-page chapters can be read in the same time that it takes to read one of the 32-page chapters of Watchmen: about an hour. This reflects Otomo’s absolute mastery of layout and composition; he never puts an obstacle athwart the onrush of your eye across his collapsing cityscapes. Language does not get much in the way either: vast swaths of pages, all violent action, go by with no more demanding words than onomatopoeiac sound effects, grunts and profanities from the characters, and the heroes and villains crying one another’s names. [...] Such anti-literacy—very much against the Anglo-American “spirit of 1986,” which saw comics strive for and often attain the density of the 20th-century novel—bears upon Akira's theme of energy washing away all hierarchies.
(These remarks are partly inspired by the recent Weird Studies podcast episode on Charles Burns's Black Hole; there the hosts construe comics as a hybrid form of archeo-print-culture, a printing of the manuscript, and an unfolding of the spiritual-material potentialities of ink, Burns's book's secret eponym. Otomo's lovingly rendered Neo-Tokyo apocalypse is another such "black hole" from which the image stream proceeds, of course, as is Eisner's famous rain of ink out of the whirlwind sky upon his Job-like characters.)

takizawa for the character ask
My first impression: “Oh who’s that guy again? Eh I’ll just look him up. Oh hey that one- WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED??” Other than that I basically just didn’t care about him cause I just wanted to get back to Kaneki.
My impression now: I love him so much he’s my little guy he’s so silly I want to run him through a meat grinder he means the world to me he is my world he deserves the world he’s ruined my life and made it better and I love him for it <33
Favourite thing about that character: Assuming I can’t say everything uh I love the irony of his character. Becoming everything you hated. Getting everything you wanted superficially but losing the reasons you wanted it in the first place. All that good stuff.
Least favourite thing: His ending :( “oh he disappeared and was never seen again and fought rogue ghouls as a half-kakuja-“ NO. FUCK NO. AFTER EVERYTHING HES BEEN THROUGH HE IS NOT GETTING THAT SHITTY OF AN ENDING. HE SHOULDNT HAVE TO BE INVOLVED IN THIS BULLSHIT ANYMORE HE SHOULD BE LIVING A NICE PEACEFUL LIFE WITH HIS LOVED ONES.
Favourite line/scene: Uh, god there's a lot to choose from... Honourable mention to his little speech about fear (mainly because it's so funny in context "oh you're scared of me cause I'm different" no I think its because you murdered their coworkers in front of them but go off ig). My favourite probably has to be his internal dialogue during the fight with Amon in the lab raid arc, a ton of great lines in there. But I also love every scene he's in so y'know.
Favourite interaction that character has with another: Probably his fight with Amon during Rushima and then his moment with Akira after. Gives me brainworms.
A character that I wish that character would interact with more: Shikorae! They may have only had one on-screen interaction but they are FRIENDS I swear. Also just the rest of Aogiri in general. I wanna see how this crazed ex-dove fits in with the rest of their organization.
Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: Uh... human Takizawa kinda reminds me of Matsuda from Death Note but that's all I've got.
A headcanon about that character: He adores boy band pop but is incredibly embarrassed about it. His sister likes the same bands as him and he always acts annoyed that he's being "forced" to go to concerts with her but he secretly begs her to buy tickets for him too. He has an ARASHI poster in his bedroom. Hide introduced him to Backstreet Boys and they listened to it together sometimes before, well, y'know.
A song that reminds of that character: I’ve got a few but I’m gonna go with The Mind Electric. Idk I think it fits his mental state pretty well and also a lot of lyrics could tie into parts of his character. Also quick shoutout to the Demo 4 version cause the “see how I laugh at you” part reminds me of that one scene with Ayato.
An unpopular opinion about that character: Don't have one really
Favourite picture:
This one <3 He’s just being silly here which I love. Look at this overdramatic loser <33 (This image makes me have. thoughts. but I'll talk about them some other time)
#there are so many things I want to ramble about when it comes to this fucker but#not right now#maybe later I’ll make separate posts to ramble

Hi BlackStarMyLove~ o(≧∇≦o) Thank you for continuing to do Blackstar posts + Blackstar tips~ Not sure if this was asked already, but I like to ask a what-if scenario: how would each of the guys treat MC if MC's their little sister (if asked already, how would it be like if they met her as kids? If I recall right, Kei and Heath are canon childhood friends of MC in the game, so I guess for them, I guess what sweet/silly moments would you imagine them having with MC as kids)? (if you got time) I would like to ask more what-ifs, but to not overwhelm you, I'll just stick to asking one here. Cheering for you and your posts in spirit~ Also earned another follower here~ ^^ Hail Blackstar~ o(>ω<)o (finally glad to have finally spoken/gathered enough courage to DM a Blackstar fan~ o(^∀^*)o *shy Blackstar fan lol*)
Hi Shy Anon! Thank you so much for following and supporting my posts. 💖 So, I do want to let you know requests are closed right now, meaning if anyone sends in any requests, I will treat them as a quick ask (so like a less detailed, grouped HC). Please don't be shy to reach out to Starless fans! Since this is a small community, fans are happy to talk to each other and get excited to find new fans. And you are welcome to talk to me in DMs at any time~ we can fan about the characters/events or anything else you like. :3

[SENHANA, fem Hanamichi]
“I’m not a gyaru!” The redhead pouted, fingers twiddling. “‘s just they say dressing up like this is cute…”
Now that she mentioned it, Akira could see the truth on the statement, in a way he couldn’t put on words of what it was that made him believed her.
Akira had seen and knew some gyaru, from the one who went to great length to embody the concept to one who made due with that they had. The girl seemed to adopt only some points of it, oversized school cardigans and loose socks, pretty nails, red hair tied as high pigtails.
“But that’s what I don’t understand. You do look cute, why would anybody reject you?”
The girl looked at Akira with wonder coloring her eyes, cheeks apple red at the compliment before a laughter broke out.
“Really? I mean, of course, I’m cute! You have great eyes!”
Her mood was like a light switch. In several minutes Akira had came across the girl, he had seen at least three emotions running amok. She was an open book, hiding nothing in her eyes and lips, even her words were genuine enough for Akira.
Look, another change on her expression.
“He said,” the girl sniffled, sad again at her predicament. “That he has someone he likes and I’m not his type…”
Ah. There was that.
“I’m sure you will meet someone who will like you for you are.”
Akira jolted in surprise when the girl started to bawl, hands hanging on the air, unsure of whether he should offer a comfort. He settled with extending his handkerchief that the girl took like a robber with how fast she grabbed it.
“I thought he would be it! He smiled at me and helped me, he was so kind!”
Akira said nothing, unsurely patting the girl on her head without messing the hairdo. A pitiful noise escaped when he saw how red the girl’s eyes were, knowing from firsthand experience that her eyes would be swollen in few hours.
Hydration was important too, right?
Reaching inside his bag, Akira pulled out the mineral water he bought from the convenient store. It was lucky he saw the girl before basketball practice or else he won’t be able to offer anything.
Except the handkerchief of course.
The girl didn’t show any reservation in accepting given things, taking the bottle and cracking the seal open for a gulp. For a second, Akira wondered whether the girl knew about stranger danger with how open she was with Akira, but decided not to think further about it.
“Thank you.”
“Your welcome.”
Akira peek into his wristwatch, about 10 minutes into the practice. Even though he felt bad leaving the girl alone, he should get going or his upperclassmen would break into a hive.
“I hope it would go nicely on your next confession. Good luck.”
His step was halted at the tugging on his pants. Looking down, the girl crouching on the empty park was staring at him with a certain look.
“… Yes?”
“You’re good guy. What’s your name?”
“It’s Sendoh Akira.”
“Sendoh, huh? I’m Sakuragi Hanamichi, nice to meet you!”
“It’s nice meeting you too, Sakuragi.”
It was unexpected and he was late to his practice, but Akira couldn’t say he regretted it. Quite an experience with the girl’s honesty. Her brash confidence that contradicted with her woeful cries of broken heart was especially refreshing.
Akira thought about it again and made a decision.
“Can I have your number?”
“For what?”
“I want to see you again, Sakuragi.”
Sakuragi gaped for a second. When she picked up the slackness of her jaws, Sakuragi crowed loudly.
“You already look forward to see this genius again? You’re a smart guy, Sendoh! You can have it!”
“Next time we meet, it shouldn’t be about broken heart again,” Akira joked, taking her flip phone, heavier with all the accessories she hung, and typed his number.
At the sound of camera flashing, Akira looked up.
Sakuragi was making a peace sign, a silly expression of tongue tucked out the way he had seen gyaru did. She was taking her picture with Akira’s own phone.
“There, I already set my picture on the contact as well. You too!”
“Ah— I’m not one for picture—“
Disregarding the tumbling words, Sakuragi snatched her phone back, positioned it toward Akira’s face like the reporters that came to his match with their camera.
“Ok, smile!” The girl laughed obnoxiously when she took a gander at the result. “It’s so awkward!”
It was.
Even though the picture itself was blurry, Akira could see the inept smile caught mid motion and off guard, his eyebrows were contorted in a way Akira could never replicate consciously. The girl looked so amused by it though, so Akira thought everything went alright.
“I have to get going now, so I suppose see you again.”
“Where are you going?”
“Basketball practice.”
Sakuragi made an inquisitive noise. “Is it fun?”
“Sure. The most fun I ever have.”
“Then let’s go!”
Akira glanced at her, mind whirring off before it came back alive.
“You want to go?”
“Yeah! I have nothing to do now, the guys are busy with their stuff, might as well go watch basketball!”
“It’s only a practice though…”
Usually at this point, Akira would make it known that the girl couldn’t come to the practice. It wasn’t once or twice for people, strangers, to approach Akira and mentioned their intention to do the same. Some were his fangirls as well, latching to his arms that Akira had quite a time escaping from the grip.
A gnawing curiosity that would always be inside one Sendoh Akira when faced with something atypical, away from the norm or straight line of his line, prevented him to do just that.
Would it be the claps of awe that echo around the gym or a challenge thrown carelessly when Sakuragi watched their practice?
Akira wanted to find out about that.
“Come on then. I’m sure it will be worth your while.”
“Let me be the judge of that, Sendoh! Let see if basketball is that fun.”
This time, Akira chuckled.
There was no predicting this girl at all. Akira would look forward to today’s practice.

my son akira. he is ill
favorite thing about them
Fun beginning of tonal shift character! He is silly but just the right notes to make for the tonal shift and all that.
least favorite thing about them
Too silly sometimes. I think it's funny I predicted like every single time where the next line was Akira making some joke about Touya seeing Es' boobs or whatever and how jealous he is
favorite line
In retrospect I realize this is Akira hoping Touya is gay because that means he has a chance with Hinata but it brought us accidental yaoi and Touya canonically not knowing what being gay is.
brOTP
I think Akira and Yuki have a fun dynamic, I think somewhere along the line it hits Yuki that damn Akira does just kinda live alone and his parents only really support him materially and whatnot and just adopts him into the family.
ОТР
Akira/Touya managed to tug on the exact brain waves for me and now I'm on board.
пОТР
None really :P
random headcanon
I haven't drawn him a lot but when I do if I'm drawing him post-CE I will draw him with a wrist brace. I think he just has kind of a chronic pain situation in his arm but he mostly has it under control.
unpopular opinion
is there even popular opinions on akira
song i associate with them
I don't really have one
favorite picture of them
this one is cute

Junna for the character ask?
I'm sooo sorry for the wait on this reply. [ask] I hope it's okay that it's a little late!!
Sexuality Headcanon: unlabeled sapphic and demisexual/demiromantic!
Gender Headcanon: demigirl, she/they/it! sometimes i like to say transfem as well
A ship I have with said character: the big one is Junna and Nana! I think poly Nana Hisame Junna is also top tier. I've seen people ship Junna with most from Seisho and out of all of them outside of Nana, I think Junna and Karen is really cute. For some reason in my head I think Junna and Yuyuko could be a powerful dynamic, especially with their super performative natures, and love for a good story.
A BROTP I have with said character: Junna and all of Seisho obviously! Especially Nana, Mahikaren and Claudine! Yuyuko for the things I said in the ship one, and even more so I think they'd make for a pair of best friends. She'd get along with Amemiya and Masai through Nana and I want to believe Hisame and Seiran as well! omg also because of the stage plays, Junna and Akira! ksjdshjasd where's the hoshimi we are gracing starbucks with our presence image when you need it .
A NOTP I have with said character: going with the notion and trend I've had with these that this is about people I don't ship Junna with and prefer not to, I'd say if anything? Futakao and Kuromaya? I don't actively hate many, just the gross stuff!
A random headcanon: I don't know or remember if there's been anything else revealed about her unicycling experiences, but if not, I'd love to see her juggle and do tricks. Silly clown behavior, I want to believe she's done that before and I think we deserve a memoir about it. OH when she starts studying abroad, she takes a lot of pictures and souvenirs for Nana because of how much keepsakes, memories, and photography mean to her! <3
General Opinion over said character: Junna was one of my first comfort characters when we got into the source and continues to be someone I love a lot! I associate her a lot with Sun, so maybe I am a little biased, but I also relate to her so much. My favorite thing is how she collects glasses and changes them based on her outfits/costumes or activities. Like I want to do that!!! That sounds so fun omg. Idk idk there's so much I can say about every character and be here for hours but Junna makes me very happy. She and Hikari are Seisho's autistic rep and I live for it
