god i just finished what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck. spoodle talk + pics under the cut for some end of update stuff no peeksies if you don't want that.
oh and obligatory new agent va thoughts as one of ur resident agent posters.
hold on I need about. twenty minutes to process everything I witnessed today holy FUCK. MY GOD.
SHAE WHAT THE FUCK!!!!! SHAE!!!! SHAE PICK THE PHONE BACK UP!!!!!
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. okay look the amount of times tyr was able to basically tell the dark council to go suck a nut was fantastic but FOR FUCK'S SAKE SHAE AT LEAST ONE OF THOSE TIMES WAS FOR YOU. FOR BEING INVOLVED IN SOMETHING HE HAS THOUGHT FOR MONTHS WAS GETTING OUT OF HAND. SHAE!!!!! ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME!!!!!!
fucking. tyr "everything is under control" deckard lying boldfaced to vowrawn himself. "is there anything else?" to krovos. holy fuck. dude. god. tyr i love you. obligatory blorbo posting.
he really just fuckin said "nah. die mad about it." oh my god. oh my fucking god.
he doesn't know what the glowy fucking box does any more than you do and he's going to keep it that way because [piano keyboard slam] he doesn't trust you at allllll <3
anyway. spent the whole update with the new va for male agent now. I have decided I Like Him. felt a lot better after I found the post saying it was a new va. Probably would've been insanely less jarring on the front end of playing to have known that before I launched the game today because I think most of my initial awkward piano keyboard smash about it was Not Knowing.
No reasons are posted and it is absolutely none of my business, as it should remain so, but I admit I'm not... entirely surprised by the recast. Didn't expect it to show up here, evidently, and I haven't followed anything outside of the game, but the last update or two was a little... rougher around the edges I'd noticed and having another character at max suggested it wasn't exclusively a studio recording-related occurrence, so I wish our original legend the absolute best, but Scolding appears to have had a lot of fun picking up the role here and I applaud that, it's a lot of fun to hear.
And now that I am. a little bit more coherent having discussed something Else about the update, I'll also pitch a chip into the idea that I don't... entirely mind that they used KOTOR style cinematics in sections of this update because it gave us a lot more variance in exactly what to say in those moments and it felt fitting for what they were trying to achieve with Sa'har.
Which. sniffles. Ouuuu Sa'har, idk if I'm ready to get started on that. THIS UPDATE. AND LEAVING ME ON THINGS. THAT ARE CAUSING ME EMOTIONS!!!! DAMN!!!!!
SLAY, GIRL, SLAY!
okay general photodump from the whole update time you know how I am about seeing my favorite barbie kicking ass and being in peril <3
damn this was good. nice outing, swtor. nice outing.
#swtor#swtor spoilers#spoilers#swtor desperate defiance#swtor 7.5#swtor 7.5 spoilers#swtor screenshots#dot talk#ch: tyr#imperial agent#packed a lot into this one both the update and the post lol

wait but I wanna know why Theron's your least favorite :D explanation? (positive connotation i prommy)
Well it all started as a journey. It's a long journey, for sure, of a varying opinion change over the years of playing the game, from forces inside the game and outside the game. But I am not one to post things negatively about other people's favs out in the open so readmore it is
So we begin this journey as a wide eyed newbie player just figuring out what I wanted my legacy to be with my first knight, Leeloa. A friend was playing along with me, and I really enjoyed the Doc romance because I am definitely a fan of the 'player gets played by his own game and catches feelings' trope. Well, I get to SOR and mention to friend that I think Theron's fun and she tells me to ditch Doc because she didn't like him and thought Leeloa could do better.
I ended up remaking Leeloa because I listened then did not like that course, because it just didn't fit Leeloa. So honestly, I did like him when I first started.
But then writing happens, and it felt like he...Never developed past the whole "reckless, I do things when I do them" kind of persona, especially with the betrayal. And the more I delved into information on SWTOR, it just...Bothered me. He's descended from the hero of the original games, but oh no not force sensitive, but he's a great spy so amazing.
Why?? Because he had some Jedi training because it was expected for him to be force sensitive but oh no he WASN'T what a shock...
Except that...Doesn't really track with the Jedi and, everyone hates me, but the test for the midichlorians. They would know, they wouldn't just assume because his mom was Satele.
And somehow, despite acting in the most unspy like ways, he's a great spy. I don't know why anyone would have the Grand Master of the Jedi Council's son as a spy because that is just a huge liability.
I'll admit I haven't read the extra material because I just think it's...Kind of silly to have content outside of a video game beyond, say, a short story or a short comic.
There's just a lot of his story that if you look at it closer and in the grand scheme of Star Wars, is just absolutely ridiculous and maybe, a bit more Gary Stu than Luke.
Now then, to the writing and how he was treated in expacs. (This area is a place where Lana is also on thin fuckin ice.) The absolute favoritism shown to him by the devs drove me crazy. It started to weed away at my liking him and move me more into the exasperated/tired/neutral about him. You have this whole giant alliance, but the focus being on him and Lana so much was just annoying, especially considering it was Koth who helped the Outlander escape in the beginning chapters and how he got pushed aside. It didn't narratively feel...Cohesive and just a 'Look at the Sh*n kid go!'
The nail in the coffin is how the fandom acts about how he's a golden boy, how he gets fawned over, and honestly?? I just hate liking those characters for personal reasons. It always seems like people ignore what we're given about the character and expanding on it and, instead, ignore it and write an entirely different personality with the face they think is cute. I am huge on consistency, it's my style of writing, my preferred style of reading (thanks literary analysis class in college you ruined me), so fandom just fucked me over from liking him and while he's still friends with my knight, I try my hardest to ignore fandom with him, do my best to try to enjoy him, because I do intend to run all the game romances for gif making purposes.
Also he's really written as playersexual if you play a light side character and some conversations felt awkward like the devs were expecting you to have romanced him.
#antitheron#I don't know how to tag that so it doesn't show up in tags#antitheronshan#this is literally the best way I can explain it#I think if I try to avoid people who especially have acted like he's superior to Doc or act like he's the best thing since sliced bread#I could maybe rekindle some of that enjoyment bc I damn well better for Alema's playthrough#negativity cw#cw negativity

WIP (NOT) WEDNESDAY
got tagged by @onlymeandlife thank you :>!
I've been mostly preoccupied with a bunch of other stuff that's currently going on in my life but that just gives me more of a reason for escapism so I actually got some stuff I can share fhjgasf
Games Started a new playthrough of CP77. Haven't played a full blunt melee build yet so that's what I'm going for. Also since I always struggle with playing an asshole character in RPGs (unless it's SWTOR) I decided I'd go for that as well and the natural lifepath to pick for that was of course corpo. So far I've already upset Judy and I'm not proud of it. I've also been playing a bit of Palia and Avatar Frontiers. Otherwise when I feel like playing something but I can't decide what, I always enjoy playing on a private classic WoW server.
Character Creation Been working on a new character for a D&D campaign that might start around the end of this month. Felt like playing something very different to what I usually go for, so I made an old Loxodon lady with a straw hat that grew up as a hermit in the middle of the forest and is about to explore a whole new world she hasn't seen yet. She's very excited about that and ready to collect a bunch of leaves and cook some nice stews for her soon to be companions. She's also a druid so obviously I'm gonna use my powers to talk to any plants and animals I come in contact with.
Writing Got two CP77 pieces in the works but so far I mostly just got an outline written down. One is about my OC Oslo that'll be about a moment in his past right before some shit went down. I kinda want to explore his relationship to his old friends in it, especially his ex partner, and just write a bit about the home he grew up in since he's originally from London and not NC. The other one ties into some events that happened in RP but also explores one of my characters backgrounds. It's about a character that deals with amnesia due to a traumatic event (and a rogue AI) and a situation happens that triggers some memories - some of them good but plenty of them not so much. It's nothing I'll post online but there you go :>.
Art I've been mostly sticking to fooling around with the symmetry tool. It's nice and fun and great for character sheets, which is also something I'm working on for some of my OC's. WIP of Rad, Alfan, and Lochlainn. With Locky I'm still figuring out his design and I'm not entirely happy with what I got right now. I also got some commissions I'm working on but I'll post those when they're done. Whenever I find some motivation and energy I want to work on some full body poses as well.
Gonna tag a couple of people but if you've already been tagged or don't feel like it, no pressure :3! @brammariek @sicc-nasti @scrumptioussynths @wraithsoutlaws @rindemption @mth3gr34t @noirapocalypto @fourtyfaregates @scarecrowshindig

🖊 for Zaberial
Oh, my cute boi! -places hand on cheek-
So he's had a bit of a wild ride in my head, especially since he's one of the very few toons from when I originally played SWTOR to survive the purge. Just ignore that he was a little blue for a while (I am very glad I changed him back). lol. Honestly, when I first created him, I didn't have too big of a story for him beyond him having a brother who's the Bounty Hunter, him being an absolute flirt (he likes to flirt, something Theron had to get used to, but Zabe has toned it back by quite a bit since becoming serious with the other man), and romancing Theron. The whole reason I made him was because Theron was romanceable with male characters. Since starting to play him again, after refreshing myself with the Smuggler storyline, I have developed more of an identity for him. --Leland (BH) is his twin brother, whom he loves to annoy. Zaberial is five minutes younger, so he feels he must uphold the 'annoying little brother' status...if only because Leland held the fact that he was five minutes older over his head for their entire childhood. --He's a pansexual trans-man who is comfortable in his own skin and very proud of who he is. --He and his brother were adopted by a pair of smugglers who have since retired (opening a cafe on Rishi -wink wink to those who've read 'In Harmonious Song'-). He's extremely close with them, and very protective of them and his brother. --He encouraged Mako to be adopted by his parents. There's more, but some of it is still out in limbo in my head. Need to either nail it down or write a story about it. lol Thank you so much for asking! 💜💜💜

Star Wars Games Japanese Dub
I just watched a clip of a Japanese VTuber playing that moment in Fallen Order. You know, that moment where Darth Spoiler shows up to make Cal question his entire life.
(This is the link in case anyone’s interested: https://youtu.be/PdBqXDXZLHI )
And I started thinking, who might be good voices for SWTOR characters. If anyone has any fancasts, please let me know. (This is not a comprehensive list)
Player Characters:
1. Male Knight Male: Toshiyuki Morikawa (Minato in Naruto, Isshin Kurosaki in Bleach, Kagaya Ubayashiki in Demon Slayer. Also, he’s the OFFICIAL dub-over artist for EWAN MCGREGGOR, so…)
2. Female Knight: Marina Inoue (Momo Yaoyorozu in MHA, Armin in AoT, Yoko Littner in Guren Lagan)
3. Female Warrior: Romi Park (Edward Elric in FMA and FMA:B, Toshiro Hitsugayain Bleach, Temari in Naruto, and Teresa in CLaymore)
4. Male Warrior: Noriaki Sugiyama (Sasuke Uchiha in Naruto)
5. Male Inquisitor: Toshihiko Seki (Muzan in Demon Slayer)
6. Female Inquisitor: Yumi Hara (Albedo from Overlord)
7. Male Consular: Ryotaro Okaiayu (Byakuya Kuchiki in Bleach, Kokushibo in Demon Slayer)
8. Female Consular: Nana Mizuki (Hinata Hyuuga, Naruto)
9. Female Smuggler: Rie Kugimiya (Alphonse Elric in FMA and FMA:B, Happy in Fairy Tail, Kagura from Gintama)
10. Male Smuggler: Yuki Kaji (Sonic in Onepunch Man, Shoto Todoroki in MHA)
11. Female Agent: Shizuka Ito (Irina Jelavic in Assassination Classroom, Byleth in Fire Emblem Three Houses)
12. Male Agent: Kazuhiko Inoue (Kakashi in Naruto, Gildarts in Fariy Tail, and Yoriichi in Demon Slayer)
13. Male Trooper: Katsuyuki Konishi (Laxus in Fairy Tail, Tengen Uzui from Demon Slayer)
14. Female Trooper: Miyuki Sawashiro (Daki from Demon Slayer, Minfilia from FF14)
15. Male Hunter: Hiroki Yasumoto (Sado Yasutora from Bleach, Elfman Strauss in Fairy Tail)
16. Female Hunter: Atsuko Tanaka (Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell, Konan in Naruto, Merlwybb Bloefhiswyn in FF14)
NPCs
1. Satele Shan: Miyuki Sawashiro (Daki from Demon Slayer, Minfilia from FF14) (Why Miyuki again? If you know, you know!)
2. Darth Malgus: Kenjiro Tsuda (Atomic Samurai in One Punch Man, Hans in Konosuba, Kishibe in Chainsaw Man)
3. Lana Beniko: this was a tough one. I can’t decide between Yui Ishikawa (Violet Evergarden, Mikasa Ackerman in AoT) and Ai Kayano (Y’Shtola in FF14, and Darkness). I’m leaning towards the former, but I see way too many similarities between Y’Shtola and Lana to fully discard this one.
4. Theron Shan: Yuichi Nakamura (Gray from Fairy Tail, Mumen Rider from Onepunch Man, Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen)
5. Valkorion: Naoya Uchida (Madara Uchiha from Naruto)
6. Darth Marr: Hochu Otsuka (Jiraiya from Naruto)
7. Arcann and Thexan: Kenyu Horiuchi (Tobirama Senju and Tendo Pain from Naruto)
8. Vaylin: Aoi Yuuki (Tanya in Saga of Tanya the Evil, Diane in Seven Deadly Sins, Kumoko in So I’m a Spider, and Krul Tepes in Seraph of the End)
9. Senya: Masako Katsuki (Tsunade in Naruto)
10. Kira Carsen: Rie Takahashi (Megumin)
11. Scourge: Akio Otsuka (All for One in MHA, Shunsui Kyoraku in Bleach, Gaius Baelsar in FF14)
12. Vette: Kana Hanazawa (Kanroji Mitsuri in Demon Slayer, Mayuri Shiina in Steins;Gate aka “tuturu” girl)
13. Jaesa Willsaan: Saori Hayami (Yor Forger from Spy x Family, Shinobu Kochou from Demon Slayer)
14. Malavai Quinn: Jun Fukuyama (Korosensei in Assassination Classroom, Ban in Seven Deadly Sins, Joker in Persona 5, and Kazuma in Noragami)
15. Pierce: Daisuke Ono (Sebastian in Black Butler)
16. Torian Cadera: Masakazu Morita (Ichigo Kurosaki in Bleach, Whis in Dragonball Super) (Chosen for a very specific reason)
17. Gault: Koji Yusa (Gin Ichimaru in Bleach)
18. Aric Jorgan: Hideo Ishikawa (Itachi Uchiha in Naruto, Jushiro Ukitake in Bleach)
19. Kaliyo Djannis: Fairouz Ai (Power in Chainsaw Man)
20. Risha Drayen: Yoko Hikasa (Utahime in Jujutsu Kaisen, Angelina Shields in Irregular at Magic High)
21. Akaavi Spar: Satsuki Yukino (Yoruichi Shihoin in Bleach)

I really wanna do the SWTOR expansions because that's a lot of what people meme and talk about and I want to get it. Also because I've got plans for how my different OCs might interact with Lana and Theron, or how they might react to various story beats that I've spoiled for myself.
But I still haven't done it because I've only got so much time and I'll probably only do the expansions with one character, so it's gotta be the right character. Which is currently none of the characters that are done with their stories.
Specifically A'la'zena is done, but she's gone radio silent and refuses to work overtly for the Empire again or do anything as high profile as the stuff you do in the expansions. Periflynn is done but I'm just not as excited to play with him as other characters for multiple reasons that would take too long to summarize here.
And everyone else isn't done yet and so I'm going to have to A) pick a character to commit to for a very long time and many expansions, and B) play through the entire class story with them before even starting on the expansions. Too much activation energy for my low energy ADHD brain...
#bb complains#swtor is such a timesink#I just wanna know the storyyyy#but also I want to stretch it out to get the most enjoyment and interesting stuff out of it as possible#but I also wanna interact with other ppl about swtor and rn I can only talk about like three class stories#first world problems y'all

For the writing asks!!
✨️ Out of the comments you’ve received on your fics, what are two or three of your favorites?
I think @ajax-daughter-of-telamon's comment on and then the singing is one of the best things to have ever happened to me. That was, I think, the first incredibly affecting comment I got on a fic I was proud of. And there's another one on the same fic about how the reader hates Maul and it nearly made them weep over him, which I was very proud of.
There was one book-report length comment on my extremely old, very bad DBH daemons AU that basically resurrected my faith in my own writing from the grave, and an entire pile of them on my she-ra fic- I don't know what it was about that piece but people shook it between their teeth like a pack of terriers with a chipmunk, it was awesome. And then of course there's all the people that came out of the woodwork to tell me they'd never played SWTOR but desperately wanted Teo and Corso to fuck.
All in all, I've been really lucky. I love y'all.
🚀 Do you like to outline your fic first or create as you go?
I have a very delicate process- if I start something too early, I can hare off in the wrong direction and trip myself up by getting it wrong the first time and not wanting to go back and edit it. But if I daydream and plan and plot and outline for too long, I run the risk of getting bored with it and losing motivation, so I have to start while I have a reasonable idea of what happens but not enough so that I'm tired of watching the movie play in my head.
It's tricky. I get it wrong a lot, which is why I publish so little.
🎁 Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?
Unfortunately, @pineaberry dragged me kicking and screaming into watching The Owl House and I got really disproportionately invested in Hunter and Willow. I'm never finishing this grimdark Luz-less AU, but I'm skipping right to the interesting bits for Lefos' enjoyment.
As they moved, it swept the air clear of the falling dust for just a moment. The Park girl could be clearly seen, staggering to her face, the eerie light in her eyes fading. She stared towards the throne, the Emperor, the Guard, for just a moment.
She turned and ran just as the dust clouded the air again.
The Golden Guard gave the sort of teenaged yelp that had been trained out of him meticulously, a squawking, awkward noise of terror and pain. He sprinted forward, coltish and clumsy over the fallen remnants of the ceiling. “Willow!”
Belos’ body was perfectly still- but for one arm, which elongated horribly as his nephew raced after the little traitor. It caught Hunter halfway down the stairs, wrapping around his arm with such strength that the boy spun almost all the way back, heaving him with relentless force. Legs pulled out from under him, the grip at his elbow did nothing to hold him up as the side of his head cracked against the last step with a sickening crunch. Blood began to seep into the perfect white of the cloak, the mask staring upwards, unseeing.
(fanfic asks post is here)

I got the privilege to draw @ajoloart 's favorite blueberry, Andonias. Have to say this boy was the main reason I started playing SWTOR, let alone finally making an inquisitor. Thanks Ajo for letting me bring him to life and i may or may not have blasted Villian by K/DA the entire time. <3

Get to know your mutuals
I was tagged by @cinlat get to know your mutuals!! when you get this, it means someone wants to know more about you, so list 5 things about yourself you want your followers to know. they can be as simple as your age or as complex as your deepest fear, as long as it’s something you’re comfortable with sharing. when you’re done, tag people you want to get to know better!! 🌼💕tagging: @bouncyirwin @adrilari @vibgyoroygbiv @birkastan2018 and anyone else who wants to share!
1) I love video games and always have. I played a ton of Mario and Zelda when I was younger, World of Warcraft, I’ve dabbled in final fantasy and SWtoR, I play entirely too much Overwatch. I main healer in Overwatch and complain so much that my husband threatened to turn my headset to open mic. My favorite is ‘I can’t heal stupid, but for some reason, I keep trying’ XD
2) When I was younger I used to ride and show horses (Saddleseat). We had trail horses as well. As such, it irritates me when horses are poorly written. If you know me much, you’ve probably heard me complain about this an excessive number of times.
3) When I first started watching Naruto, I was dead set against it. My husband started watching it first and I remember falling asleep and being so annoyed by ‘believe it!’ and ‘Narutooooo, Sasukkkkkke!’. And when he tried to get me to watch it, I said ‘I’m not watching some stupid show where they fly through the air, it doesn’t even follow the laws of physics!’ He got up to the chunin exams before convincing me to join, and because he wouldn’t leave me alone about it.’. I’m not ashamed to say that he was right.
4) A lot of people have told me that I’m intimidating and they don’t know how to approach me, which I don’t really get. Maybe it’s a resting bitch face? XD But I’m not nearly as scary as most people think. At least, I don’t think I am?
5) I’m a perfectionist. I get a lot of people that say my writing is polished, but what they don’t know is that I have a triple BA in English (Literature, Writing, and Journalism). Okay, technically I’m nine credits short due to life, but that’s another story. So, I’ve had a lot of writing training, plus I obsess over details. I write a work then read each paragraph and edit it, then I edit each paragraph backwards to catch other mistakes, then I read the paragraph once more, then I send my work off to be beta read, then I read and edit the whole thing again when it comes back. If you’re wondering why it takes me so long to put out chapters, that is why. The big secret? I wish I cared less about my works and let them go when they were good enough instead of obsessing over word choices.

heehoohee, my time iS COME, @eorzeashan tagged me for FFXIV ocs but in SWTOR (no apology needed, I do love me some tags, lol) and... conveniently, I have a head start, of sorts, on this because I have already transplanted several of my XIV ocs into SWTOR, lol.
Also the amount of times I’ve threatened to government assign my friends WoLs a SWTOR class bc I’m nothing if glutton about this silly space dress up simulator, I mean rpg is... Well, it’s worked on one of them as far as actually bringing them over, hehehe.
Long post with pictures incoming because I LOVE showing off my pixel idiots.
Astor is my XIV main, on Sage since Endwalker dropped and I fell in loovvveeee, and previously a White Mage and then Astrologian from ARR-SHB and SHB-EW, respectively. Also I made him look way more fierce than average in this screen akdfnalkdsfs (I’ve been major slacking on XIV), don’t let that determined slanted eyebrow fool you, he’s a fucking softie who lets his unicorn eat his flowerbeds with no more repercussions than the 500th disappointed father sigh she’s heard in the last week.
And I take him everywhere. Astor isn’t exclusively a XIV character, but rather an OC that’s stuck with me out of high school for something like... six years, I think? Going on seven? Astor’s always been a mage and, particularly, a healer of notable prowess; he adapted rather readily to being a Jedi Consular. I’d love to say badumtsss, he’s a Jedi Sage, but I did try it originally and just couldn’t jive with it, so “Astserses” (his SWTOR counterpart) is a Shadow/Sentinel. Because I’m a little a lot into the saberstaff that can be swapped for dual wielding sabers aesthetic and also trying to beat the Gemini Captain and that hell room of droids on Iokath was a BITCH when I was a baby Shadow who probably didn’t understand half of what would have helped me along.
Also because I’m a big scaredy cat for some reason about doing group content on SWTOR when I have done on-level extremes for XIV with no problem I don’t know, okay? I’m here for the silly space opera adventures, not to overly invest in learning job mechanics again, I think.
Next be Shay! Who’s a DRK/DRG/RPR in XIV and my original Sith Inquisitor in XIV! Shay’s entire arc as a character revolves around coming from a family that never really gave him the time of day; he spends a lot of his time avoiding relationships with others because of a series of heartbreaks and betrayals that mold him into a snappy, lone-wolf kind of bastard. The one thing he prided himself on was combat prowess. Even accompanying Airi (@fatewalker-phoenix fame) in their adventures as the Warriors of Light, Shay never really applies the title to himself; he’s the help. The get your hands bloody muscle, so she didn’t have to. I’ve toyed also with the idea of doing a Sith Warrior run for him bc the whole light/dark destiny dynamic is also incredibly his alley, but the raw power and rags to riches run of Inquisitor better suits his story. IIRC I just mirrored his Marauder into Sentinel.
He’s kind of overdramatic about being an angry bastard nobody should trust, tbh, so like... the drama of Inquisitor. I might yet have to revisit the Warrior thoughts though. He’d be interesting to pair with Vette.
Theo is my Rogue/Machinist I really need to get the hell out of HW afterstory already, but HW is SO LONG for me, anYWAY. The most recent of my transitions, Theo StarWar edition is a Smuggler currently on Mercenary because I really wanted 2 guns, but didn’t care for gunslinger and I seriously Cannot keep playing Operatives/Scoundrels, I just. I so would. I absolutely would. But stars, I need to do this variety thing.
Theo is the kind of character that lives rent-free in my walls. He’s chaotic. He’s “back at it again at the Krispy Kreme” energy. Smuggler is literally perfect. Deceptively, Theo was also rather smart. He spent several years studying various magical techniques after an injury blinded him in his left eye. One of his favorite ways to be a Nuisance is to switch fluently and without batting an eye between Lominsan Rogue’s Guild-speak to discussing aetheric relations in nearly perfect scholarly lingo. He’s just as likely to talk circles around his enemies as knife them.
Kres as his SWTOR counterpart is maybe a bit more blunt and slightly more impatient about the whole ordeal, but he would, in fact, still claim he could charm the horns off a Krayt Dragon. And I’d about believe him.
Which just leaves my bunboy Bas of my semi-main XIV characters that I haven’t actually taken over to SWTOR, but I also haven’t done a lot with XIV Bas to begin with. He’s primarily a SAM/RPR, but I think I picked up BRD on him, too bc I prefer ranged DPS in XIV. (Ironically I tend to prefer melee in SWTOR, it seems.) His story, in brief, is a former Dalmascan who was conscripted into the Imperial forces and eventually staged a bloody escape and prison break of several other prisoners he’d been held with before he made his way to Eorzea with somewhat disgraced and lost Garlean soldier Peregrine (again @fatewalker-phoenix fame) in-tow whom he’d eventually form an unexpected and odd, hard to describe friendship, almost mentor-ish relationship with.
Both of them suffer from identity crises, tbh. My strongest arguments would probably be Guardian Jedi Knight or an Operative Bounty Hunter. (I need a full on blade wielding tech class, SWTOR. Gimme.) Probably stronger favoring for Jedi Knight because of the whole crisis of place and purpose and destiny thing, but Bas did fashion himself as something of a Bounty Hunter between the prison break and falling in as an adventurer in Eorzea, so. It’d fit maybe aesthetics-wise, but less certain about the story part.

SWTOR: New player help: Contending with bugs
It's not a bug, it's a feature! It's working as intended! As you play SWTOR, you will notice that...things don't always go as expected. Here are some helpful tips for new players (and more long term players too) to try to help handle some of the most common bugs you will find in the game.
First thing: report the bugs you encounter. If nobody knows something's going wrong, it can't be fixed.
Everyone including free to play players can now use the in-game bug reporting system. How?
1. Go into your chat box (usually at the upper left of your screen and type /bug)
2. This should open a window that will allow you to type a short description of the bug you are seeing. Describe the bug. Make sure you mention 1) exactly what you were doing and 2) what was not working. For example:
"During the introduction scene for the flashpoint "This is Way Too Long," the character "I Don't Like You" does not have a head."
3. Press ' submit.'
Keep in mind that you will not get a response or any direct help from a bug report. This is to let the developers know what is not working in the game, so they can hopefully fix it.
2. Wait a little while after there's a new patch or game update
When there's a new game update or patch (you will know because you have new files that will automatically download when you launch the game), don't jump right into the new content with your favorite best character. Wait. It's hard, I know, but wait. The general trend over the past few years has been that new patches and updates always have bugs, and sometimes they're doozies.
It helps to have a "me first" character or two - perhaps a clone of your main - to wade into new content on the first day or week if you really want to see it. That way you can see the new content without being completely angry that it's messed something up for your characters or isn't running quite right.
3. Keep an eye on the Bug Reports section of SWTOR.com and the SWTOR Twitter account.
Even if you are not a subscriber you can still read the Bug Reports forum (I would not recommend the rest of the forums, though). There's usually a running list of known bugs for each patch listed at the top of the page. Also keep an eye on the SWTOR Twitter account. You can read it without being a registered Twitter user, and it will let you know when the game is going down for maintenance or an update.
4. If you are facing a bug that is making it impossible to complete a quest you need for story progression, you can reach out to SWTOR customer service for assistance. If you are a subscriber, press the little gears icon at the top of your screen, choose "customer service" and then "request help." If you are not subscriber, you can reach support at [email protected].
SPECIFIC STRATEGIES FOR COMMON BUGS
1. Help! My abilities bar got unlocked and I cannot get it to lock again!
When this happens, all your abilities will 'float' or move from their placements, which understandably makes it hard to fight. How to get around this:
1. When you are NOT IN COMBAT, press CTRL+U. All of your abilities bars/maps/etc. will vanish. Don't panic. This is the way.
2. Press CTRL+U again. Everything should come back. It may take a moment. Wait.
2. Oh no! My character's stuck in a rock!
Or on a cliff, or under a box, or up a tree. We've all been there. Go to your chat box (upper left, usually).
1. Write /stuck in the chat. This will either move your character to a place where they aren't stuck, or it will kill them and put them back at the nearest medical base.
2. What's that? Stuck isn't working, or you just used it and it needs to cool down? You can try using Quick Travel to travel to a nearby medical base.
3. Still nothing? Try porting to a stronghold, your ship or the Fleet.
4. Try logging out and logging back in.
3. What? I can't click the blue thing.
This bug has shown up all over the place, where an objective will be lit blue, but unclickable. I've found a few places where nothing I do makes this work.
1. Try changing instances.
2. Try logging out and back in.
4. This is a great cut scene...why is it freezing?!
Several years ago this bug was so severe in the Sith Warrior and Imperial Agent stories that only customer service could resolve it. It seems better now, but here are some ideas.
1. ESC out of the scene. Now try to start the scene again by clicking on the NPC /objective/whatever is the scene starter.
2. Can you guess? Log out and back in.
3. Close the game and try re-launching.
4. Try lowering your graphics settings in the game. Don't know why this works, but it did sometimes.
5. My character is frozen in a weird pose.
Just laugh at it, take a screenshot and share it with your friends so they can laugh. Typically this will not affect actual combat and will go away on its own eventually.
6. I want to romance Lana Beniko, Koth Vortena or Theron Shan in KOTFE...but I've heard things about the romance vanishing.
There are two general ways the romances in KOTFE get borked:
1. A patch happens before the romance is locked in (chapter 9) and all the player's flirts from chapters 3-8 are reset. The game thus forgets you were trying to romance Lana and you don't get the romance dialogue option in chapter 9. I've also heard of Koth and Theron romances vanishing, but not as often. The solution is to NOT play through chapters 3-9 of KOTFE when there's a patch happening. My general tactic is to play those chapters straight through, and not stop until I get to chapter 10, to make sure the romance is locked and won't be interrupted by a patch.
2. The player misunderstands the really poorly framed dialogue wheel in chapter 9. There's a moment, pictured below, where the camera faces Theron Shan, and there are choices that say "I need to see one of you" and "I need to see one of you" [flirt]. IT IS NOT JUST REFERRING TO THERON. If you are flirting with Lana or Koth and want to lock in their romance, DO NOT CLICK ON THE FIRST CHOICE (which is helpfully lit up here for your reference). YOU NEED TO CHOOSE THE [FLIRT] HERE, as well as the [flirt] in the conversation when you are alone with your companion of choice.
When your actions or conversation choice will start or end a romance, from KOTFE onward, you will receive a pop up warning that looks something like this.
Caption: This choice will begin a romance with Lana Beniko. Are you sure you wish to proceed? CONTINUE - CANCEL Once you have this scene, MAKE SURE you finish chapter 9 entirely so your choices don't get wiped out in a future patch!
7. My companion is stuck in place and won't move.
There you go, charging into the fray...there's your companion, lingering awkwardly at the threshold and not participating. Oops. You can usually wake them up by sending them away and then bringing them back. Easy ways to do this include:
1) Send them to sell junk (press N. Go to your companion who is with you. Press the little icon near their name to get them to sell the junk. Depending on the legacy perks you have purchased they will be gone for between 5 and 30 seconds)
2) Summon another companion, any of them, and then summon back the one you want.
3) It didn't work? Sometimes companions do seem to go on strike and you will probably just want to summon another to continue playing. This is a good reason to remember to have more than one companion at high influence, if you can, so you can switch as needed.
8. My companion keeps falling over.
Sternly tell your companion it's not time for a nap. Kidding. They really don't care. Any time is nap time. The steps in #7 should work to wake them up again.
9. I'm trying to loot something and it's telling me "out of range."
First, are you sure it's your loot and not some other player's? If it's yours, you can sometimes pick it up by walking away and then returning. Other times, look for someone else nearby to loot. I've on occasion found things unlootable, which is frustrating.

Ooh, thanks for the compliment 🥰
I don’t choose Malgus for the role, it is my friend who leads the party. When the RPG campaign begins, I didn’t play SWTOR yet and I didn’t know this character. This friend had been playing for 10 years and he managed to get me to play it (ok, it was not difficult because I played KOTOR and I love Star wars). I showed me some SWTOR cinematic trailers like Hope (I fall in love with Satele Shan when I saw this 😍😍😍). For the rpg game, Aster had a dream send by Malgus and it corresponds to “Deceived” cinematic trailer.
My friend like Malgus because it’s a great villain with brain. He is not bad just to be bad, he has a plan behind it. In our rpg, he just wants to break free from the starship, like Aster, and he is ready to do anything for it. I like the relationship between him and my OC. He “kindly” offered his help in a desperate moment for her (she had just been caught by the Empire and tortured, she thought she and her friends couldn't break free) and she accepted without thinking of the consequences.
And you (if it isn’t indiscreet), why do you appreciate him ? I saw in you fanfiction called Wanted he is your emotional support character. In some way, I understand your point. (By the way, this story touched me a lot. I read it when I don’t feel well…)
For my fanfiction with Aster, my partner proposed to translate in English for you if you want. But I warn you : I don’t write fast and I have 5 WIPs at the same time… ^^’
I don't play RPG but I know what goes on in one and I think it is such a cute way to bond with a friend 💕
There are a lot of reasons why I like Malgus but the main one is that I see a lot of myself in him, even though I identify as a woman, among other things. His very human trait of duality is very appealing to me. Your friend is right in that he is not the type of villain who is evil for the sake of being evil, he thinks about his actions before he commits and once he does he is in all the way - this mentality is something I admire. He thinks for himself and decides what is right for him, not what is right for other people. He is also very unique in terms of his stance on aliens in the old republic and sith culture in general. He isn't afraid to speak his mind. I love obscure media and he's definitely not a well-known character even in the star wars fandom. These are all traits I find attractive in a character.
He is my muse and the one that got me back into writing after taking a few years off, so he means a lot to me in that way. So much so that I started to write about him in AUs and decided to venture into original fiction (some stories work better as original fiction rather than fanfiction, though not every original is Malgus inspired). I also absolutely adore tragic romances so that was right up my alley. I LOVE a broken man and by the end of the Deceived novel, he is so broken he is irreparable.
I could go on and on, but the above is what I'm comfortable with sharing publicly🤭
Thank you so much for your love for "Wanted"!!!! I wrote that when I was very depressed a while back. Who better to shoulder all of my mental weight than a freakishly tall sith lord with nothing to lose? I've grown out of writing smut though, it wasn't helping me artistically as a writer and it was becoming tedious and no longer fun for me. There are many different types of love to explore in every form of media.
Please don't feel obligated to do anything! Only if you are feeling up to sharing and if your partner is feeling up to translating. I have read an entire fic through google translate haha! I also have a lot of wips going on at once, no idea is ever wasted💖

Fic Writer Meme
I got tagged for this by @illegiblewords - thank you! 💕
Name
Fandoms
Most popular oneshot
Most popular multichapter
Actual worst part of writing
How you choose your titles
Do you outline
Ideas I probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?
Callouts @ Me
Best writing traits
Spicy Tangential Opinion
Name: Kunstpause almost everywhere, halfbakedporxie on twitter for fandom and nsfw stuff, Netzeinhorn on twitter for sfw and private things. Anna to people who just wanna talk to me. ;)
Fandoms: Mostly FFXIV. Still some Dragon Age because I am finishing up a long story. Oh and recently Baldur’s Gate 3 has joined the “fandoms I’m writing for” list.
Most popular oneshot: Complications for FFXIV. It was the first kinktober prompts I did for this fandom and it probably got the least interaction in terms of people talking to me about it, but somehow is the most popular one stats-wise. It’s a short and sweet (and steamy) bit about Cassia and Haurchefant getting together for the first time.
Most popular multichapter: The Hunter And The Prey for Baldur’s Gate 3. That one has just... exploded? It’s my only fic for that fandom so far but I got terribly invested in that pairing. And I am having ideas for a polyship and another story about that one running around my head lately too.
Actual worst part of writing: Getting started. I have rouble starting things. Like, not necessarily the start of a chapter but sitting down and starting a task. Often, I have to trick myself into “I am not actually sitting down to write now, I am just quickly doing this and that” situations. I wrote about 5 bigger chapters of a story by tricking myself into short burst writing while playing msq roulette in ffxiv which is genuinely boring af, right? Si what I did was turn on a tv show I liked but already know to watch while doing the fighting, and when the long cutscenes started I muted the tv and wrote on my second monitor for as long as the cutscene lasted. When it was over I went back to fighting and watching TV as a treat. 😅 I usually wrote about 1000 words per Praetorium run and about 700 during Castrum.
How you choose your titles: I have no rhyme or reason to that. They just... appear. Most of the time I actually don’t find the title thing as bothersome as many other people seem to. I usually go with a theme of the story, often trinyg to not be too on the nose. Most of the times it works.
Do you outline: Yes, always. I am an architect, I need to plan. I sometimes write outlines that are pages long. Another thing I often do is write the entire dialogue for a chapter down first. Sometimes I change bits of it while I write around it, but most of it I nail down before I write the action and the emotional parts of the story. Since one of compliments I get most often is that people like the flow of my dialogues I am assuming this works well for me.
Ideas I probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?: I have two really nice ideas for SWTOR fics that could be really great but I can’t see myself playing this game enough to do the research for them anymore, sadly. I also had some nice plots for Dragon Age things on hold but after all the shit from last year I don’t feel that fandom is for me anymore.
Callouts @ Me: Stop procrastinating. You write very fast - think about all the shit you could get done if you stopped watching youtube videos every ten sentences.
Best writing traits: As I said, I think my dialogue is quite good and I feel I have a good grasp for character voices. And both from my own feeling and the feedback I get I write good smut and seem to have an ability to make people go “holy shit, I didn’t think I was into that but...” - my proudest moments.
Spicy Tangential Opinion: Writing styles have merit but you don’t have to contain yourself to one style. You can have an identity as a writer and a particular voice without limiting yourself to just one particular stylistic choice. Go nuts! Sometimes a change makes it possible to tell a story you couldn't before.
tagging (with no obligation ofc): @elfyourmother @elveny @blarfkey @hobo-apostate @queen-kass-the-writer @wardenari @curiousthimble @hollyand-writes @kemvee @captainderyn @cartadwarfwithaheartofgold @charlatron @laraslandlockedblues @a-shakespearean-in-paris @defira85 @tishinada @midnightprelude @allycryz @exposed-whimsy @starsandskies @jentrevellan
And whoever wants to take this, feel free to tag me back

Thess vs Revan Meta
I promised meta on the following: EA/BioWare doesn’t understand how Revan and the Exile work and the appeal behind their characters that made them fan favorites and that’s reflected in their SWTOR portrayals in this essay i will-
And since @curiouscatcrafts flagged it up, guess it’s time to write it. Let’s begin with Revan.
Honestly, any Revan portrayal after KOTOR that wasn’t an idle comment from Carth and/or Bastila was doomed to failure, because the reason Revan worked was the journey, not the destination. You begin KOTOR as a soldier, scout or smuggler. Your life’s been pretty average, as far as you can tell, and everything everyone’s telling you - which is all a player has to go on as much as the character does, and even if it’s a replay, if the writing hits all the right notes (and pre-EA Bioware fucking did), that feeling still persists despite what the player knows - feeds into that. Right up until you start figuring out, “Hey, I can do shit, what the fuck”. The entire point of KOTOR is all about your character figuring out who and what they are from the evidence presented, through trial and tribulation and harsh-ass decision-making. It’s a person growing into their own skin, their own role.
And then you find out that you are actually Revan, and you have to decide at that point, right at the end of the game, who you’re going to be. Are you going to hold to the person you became throughout the time spent on Taris, Tatooine, Kashyyyk; the time spent with Carth and Bastila and Mission? Are you going to be the person you fought to become? Or are you going to lean into who you used to be? And if so, which version of who you used to be? Will you be Revan the Terrifying Sith, or Revan the Right Proper Jedi?
Knights of the Old Republic has a lot of big themes important to the wider galaxy, but that’s not what makes it arguably the most popular, most talked-about, and most loved story-focused Star Wars game out there. Everything was personal, because the whole game was about self-discovery, and how much of who you are is what you choose to do with what you have. KOTOR was not just “Powerful Force-User Saves The Galaxy Or Enslaves It”; it was a personal journey first and foremost. This is why seeing Revan in any context as a NPC is jarring at best, and insulting at worst. A player went on a very important personal journey with their particular Revan or Revans, and then you walk into a flashpoint one day and you find Revan - this grizzled white dude who made choices you don’t even understand. More, a grizzled white dude who has emotional responses to previous events that you don’t understand. A player went on such a deep personal journey with their Revan of choice; it’s almost impossible to identify with a cookie-cutter YAGWD-Revan after that.
Which was the point. Revan from KOTOR was at their core a cipher, a blank canvas upon which a player could create a whole sapient being, and guide that sapient being through a growth and maturity with few if any particular limits. You cannot create a character that players can identify out of that kind of tabula rasa at the best of times, never mind when the players have so great a fondness for the version they created, a version that given the choices on offer likely doesn’t even remotely resemble the one they got lobbed at their heads in a couple of flashpoints and an operation.
The Exile is a better example of the other reason neither of the customisable characters that got ported into SW:TOR worked particularly well: agency and destiny. While Revan was all about self-discovery, with a note at the end about how your past only defines your future as much as you let it, KOTOR 2 leaned far more heavily into that latter point. Everyone wanted the Exile to be something; and few if any cared about the Exile wanted out of life. How you reacted to that while playing the Exile is entirely up to you, and the Force-ghost entity that turns up briefly in SW:TOR, while mercifully brief in appearance, is yet another example of the impossibility of truly manifesting a customisable character in a setting. They wrote out this entire backstory about the Exile’s relationship with Revan that works for their plot but may not remotely resemble the player’s thoughts on the matter. After an entire game in which a player’s Exile learns that destiny is just a word if you’re following your heart, a player gets to watch their Exile get roped into a foregone-conclusion future and ending up as little more than spectral backup calling for help for some other individual. As a character who fought for both the right and the opportunity to live by their own code, unhindered by other people’s ideas about destiny, that just burns.
And again, that’s the problem. Both Revan and the Exile were not built to stand alone without a player guiding them. But honestly, I don’t really blame all of SW:TOR for this. I blame Drew Karpyshyn, in specific. Because he was the one who couldn’t leave Revan alone. He wrote Knights of the Old Republic. He should have known how important it was that Revan remain an enigma, a cipher, someone to project one’s own character onto, because he wrote the damn game. Unfortunately, he apparently decided he loved his idea of what a Canon Revan should be so much that he wrote the Revan novel in the SW:TOR novel trilogy around the same time the MMO came out and additionally loved his Canon Revan so much that he shoehorned the entire living being into the MMO heedless of potential fan backlash.
Drew Karpyshyn, you’re great a lot of the time, and you write some good characters. But your Revan is cookie-cutter YAGWD man-angst bullshit and tossed the entire glorious personal journey you gave us for our own Revans right down the shitter. For that, at least, you can get fucked.
