okay at 2am last night i had a sudden realization that after sigma touches fyodor and then falls back, there's no blood. when fyodor has used his ability in the past (in the ep with karma & ace, and then on the soldier at the end of s3) there was always blood, seemingly from the neck area. but neither the manga nor the anime seem to show any blood after sigma took fyodor's hand which means. i think they just passed out from information overload - ango said it's common when the amount of information transferred via ability is large. and fyodor might have estimated sigma would pass out, and then wake up after it was too late to save everyone, which would be far worse torture than simply dying
#bsd spoilers#bsd s5#has this been said before? idk#i think we all got too caught up in the d.azaic.huuya show#anyway also random thought but obviously there has to be some sort of contingency for fyodor's ability#if it was literally just 'killing people by touch' at least DAZAI would know that's literally all it is. and why wouldn't he share that?#so there must be some other condition that has to be fulfilled in order for fyodor's ability to work#and it's possible sigma simply. didn't meet that condition.#my only current thought is that it only works on people who are afraid#karma was very clearly afraid of fyodor as soon as he saw ace was dead#and i presume the rest of ace's men on the boat probably felt the same way#some random prisoner tricks the man whose been controlling their lives for Years into hanging himself? yeah that'll strike fear into them#obviously it's harder to tell with the soldier in the s3 finale but i wouldn't say it's a far stretch to guess he's afraid of fyodor#meanwhile sigma - while they do have the thought 'this could be the last thing i ever do' right before taking fyodor's hand#does not look fearful. they look determined.#this is how they can get a home and that might be enough to overwrite any fear of fyodor they could have#BUT who knows. i could also be completely off target#my mind has just been picking apart every last bsd-related thing it comes across#the brainrot is taking control and idk how to Stop Thinking#hello grace here#actually ngl now that i actually type out the fear-activated ability thing i kind of love it#even if it ends up being wrong it kinda slaps and would be really cool to see#grace reads bsd

âyouâre home early.â
shalomâs soft voice carries across the living room from where sheâs sat on the couch, a thick novel in her lap. the fading sunlight filters in through the open windows, painting her pretty face in shades of gold. the vase of lillies on the side table cast delicate shadows on the marbled oak. you barely mumble a reply, and by the slump of your shoulders and the sullen look on your face, shalom knows immediately that somethingâs wrong. she doesnât get to say it in time, however, because you round the couch and immediately collapse into her lap, plucking the book out of her hands to place it on the side table and all her other finished books. shalom blinks, then chuckles, running her hands through your hair as you wrap your arms around her waist and press your face into the crook of her neck.
âbad day, i take it?â she asks, smoothing down your hair and toying with the downy strands near the nape of your neck. you groan in reply, squeezing her a little tighter.
âthere was⌠someone. she keptâŚâ you say, biting the words like it physically pained you to get them out. you shift a little restlessly, sighing again and breathing in deeply, nosing under her jaw. âshe kept flirting with me.â
ah. shalom hums, not stopping her idle touches. âi see. and what did you do?â
âi told her i was married,â you say stubbornly, almost indignant. you draw back to give her a look halfway between incredulous and pleadingâas if to say, did you think iâd say anything else? she almost chuckles again, but tamps it down for your sake, since you do seem genuinely unsettled by the whole thing. her hand cups your face, encouraging you to continue. you lean into her touch, and huff again. âand i was not interested.â
âand how did this person handle that?â she asks. her expression is perfectly impassiveâthough she can hear rebel screech and roar in the back of her mind, outraged at the idea someone else would dare approach whatâs hers. and sheâs inclined to agree with it, though for now sheâll settle for holding you close.
you deflate against her chest at the question, head flopping back down onto her shoulder. âitâs like she didnât hear it at all. she kept goingânothing too seriousâbut i still had to help her, and i justâŚâ
shalom presses a chaste kiss to your temple. âyou justâŚ?â
âi feel guilty,â you admit, and she has to resist the urge to coo at you. what a sweet thing you are, to be so distraught even if you were barely a willing participant in the whole mess. shalom lifts your face from her shoulder to look you in the eyes, her lips pulled into an amused yet fond smile. her thumbs brush along your cheekbones, and your lashes flutter as you react to the tender touch. shalom swears she sees your eyes dilate too. it makes something spark in her chest, seeing the way even your physiology responds so sweetly to her.
âis that so, sweetheart?â she muses, and you nod, an almost kicked puppy expression crossing your face. âwell, i believe i know the perfect solution for you to make it up to meâthe option with the lowest cost, and highest rewards.â
you lean forward almost imperceptibly, eagerness and anticipation overwriting any guilt you might have felt prior. shalom lets out a breezy laugh at that, and then draws close, close enough that her breath spills warm from her lips and mingles with yours.
âkiss me.â
ahalomâs smiling before you even kiss herâthere is not a beat of hesitation from you.
#sev.scribbles#shalom#shalom x reader#glitchwave got me feeling some typa way#zero specifically đđđ#i feel so horrendously uncomfortable when she comes onto me#like im trying to like her genuinely but ousgxjdhfh girl im a taken woman. im married

Here's my super early before everything Canto 8 bingo card
You all asked for it so I shall hand it over, keep in mind this is subject to change massively based on things like the intermissions, I want to be the first person to make a Bingo card for way in the future, call it a....long term investment Here is my super early Canto 8 Bingo card!!
Okay so I kinda wanna explain the board choices for funsies!
Hong Lu is a rock-.....obviously the big theory is on here!
Mothershu crumbs-So my friends and I refer to like character moments and hints as crumbs and mothershu is what we refer to as Ryoshu being a mother or like alluding to that(like with smth like Spider Bud)
Sinclair snaps-We get another moment similar to his shut the fuck up moment in Canto 7
Freak Lu- uhm this one is more of a silly one since with the number of times that man is tied up or smth and is chill with it (What do you mean it was a unique and fun experience?!?!) my friends and I think he's into it, so we included it for fun
No romance plotline-sigh. Wishful thinking on the part of a Hong Lu yume shipper(me) one of the original novels main plotlines is a whole romance love triangle thing goin on with Baoyu. My friend an I were going back and forth on if/how they could adapt that madness so to subvert expectations,we said no romance
We go to the Land of Illusion-Look if Baoyu goes there in the original, who's to say we won't go in Limbus
Outis Family crumbs- Outis saying anything about her family or home or Penelope or any of that
Uhm the Lin Daiyu space is self-explanatory aside from the descriptors, it's more in reference to my friend's bingo card she made for Canto 7, and it had "Dulcinea is a baddie" on there so I had to carry on the joke
That Grey Bastard appears-uhm.... that's in reference to Demian. My friend group is not a fan of him (I'm literally close friends with the real reincarnation of Emil Sinclair, of course we have conflicting feelings on Demian)
Levels copy the style of chapter names- So the names of levels last canto matched up with the way chapters in Don Quixote are titled and it was the same way in Canto 5 so Amia and I thought it might carry over to Canto 8 ^^
Heathcliff crumbs-We kinda threw his one in here but y'know more Heathcliff family moments or more Heathcath
Baoyu name reveal-Okay before you say, "But Sloth, they did reveal it to the sinners!" uhm no, look at who was in that convo. It was Wei, Xichun and Hong Lu, the other sinners do not know, or they just really decided to not comment on that
Chapter with the most npcs-This one is a prediction because guys. The original novel has like 400 characters in it.
Story Dungeon in Canto-So I always like to ask whether we'll get one since in Canto 6,we didn't get a dungeon,so we put it on there
Hong Lu is a "Charon situation"- I proposed some kind of crazy idea that Hong Lu was like overwriting Baoyu's personality/old self or smth and Amia responds with "Charon situation" since in Leviathan Lapis gets herself overwritten by one of her mirror worlds, that being Charon. So maybe something of a similar nature happened to Hong Lu (Yes this is different enough from rock theory to me)
Hong Lu doesn't distort- Ha you thought! Amia and I are like *convinced* the Hell's Chicken line is a red herring meant to throw us off. Like Quixote distortion was a big theory for a while and she didn't distort (Can bloodfiends distort? Idk) I know we're in the minority but like unless something changes my mind, I'm gonna keep being in the minority
#slothpower#limbus company#hong lu#canto 7 spoilers#limbus company spoilers#canto vii spoilers#I win the contest for earliest bingo card for a canto#Let me know what you guys think but be nice to me.#I beg be nice to me#Thank you to my friend Amia for some of the board ideas#I know a lot of the blocks aren't Hong Lu related but I like to speculate on everyone

You might have not have an opinion on this but Iâve been rewatching Grilled Cheesus and I feel like the framing is so weird?? Itâs fundamentally about Kurt and his dad and since they start the whole religious thing FOR Kurt to support him, the issue shouldnât be religion. As soon as Kurt said he didnât everybody to pray for him in school, and that it made him uncomfortable enough to complain, it should just be done. Everybody can pray themselves, leave the Hummels out of it. Thoughts?
I have thoughts!
I have a vague memory of debating this with people on the sub, back in the day because the framing is so weird. It's that Glee problem of feeling like they must suddenly be a PSA and present all angles, even at the cost of character and a satisfying narrative. The other glaring instance I can think of is the suicide discussion scene with the God Squad in 3x14. Why must they always do this with Kuinn?
The problem with Grilled Cheesus is that it's trying to be Kurt's story but also wants to present this middle road of "religion works for some and not for others". And there aren't any inherent problems with that messaging. It's perfectly valid for people to seek comfort in religion and equally valid for others not to want anything to do with it. But this is Kurt's story and he makes his feelings clear. It's frustrating to watch characters cross his boundaries and insist that he's being ungrateful when he's already going through an extremely traumatic time. I honestly don't know why Glee thought this was the way to achieve balance.
I think everyone is being kind of a prick to Kurt in this episode, frankly. Even sweet Mercedes whose good intentions I appreciate and I usually stan is being way too pushy with her closest friend. All Kurt needed was her support and respect and Mercedes is usually excellent at giving that but the episode uses her and Quinn as religious spokespeople. They're ideas in Grilled Cheesus, not people. At least Mercedes is still more respectful than Quinn but even she's being way too pushy. No should be no. And even if some of Kurt says is harsh, he's still allowing people to do whatever they want with their faith and is just asking them to leave him and Burt alone. The prayer scene in the hospital feels particularly disrespectful. Because yes, who knows how Burt feels and it can't hurt, but Kurt has explicitly asked them to back off. Pray at home or at church, ffs! And no, I don't think Carole had the 'authority" to overwrite Kurt's wishes in this particular case. If anything, Carole should have stood behind Kurt.
The characters advocating for religion or even a conversation really betray that they aren't truly in it for Kurt. Otherwise, they would have left well enough alone the moment Kurt expressed discomfort. There's a time and a place for civil debates but right after his dad's heart attack ain't it. And I love Quinn and write a lot about how dirty she was done and all that so I feel I have permission to say this but she just really sucks in this episode. She feels so entitled and makes it clear that her making a statement about faith is more important to her than Kurt's feelings. I wouldn't say someone like Sue who is ardently on the opposite side is much better because she doesn't have Kurt's best interests in mind, either, but she's at least a little more supportive. And she's supposed to be the villain! And don't get me started on William Shitecester who takes this as an opportunity for dialogue. What a shit teacher you must be to prioritize a lesson over the wellbeing of a student in crisis.
I also dislike how people ignore Kurt's valid reasons to dislike religion, again a sign of hypocrisy. Because yeah, Kurt is being kinda harsh but who wouldn't give him a pass in this situation, and the ignorance of the Glee Club to not consider the church's historic distaste for gay people is infuriating. Easy to say god welcomes everyone or whatever when people like you haven't been persecuted for hundreds of years. And as all this is going on Kurt is getting severely bullied at school for being gay so what excuse do they have for not taking his identity into consideration? That they don't really care. Everyone is so self-absorbed and self-righteous in this episode it's painful to see.
The audacity of people to call Kurt ungrateful and intolerant is what pisses me off the most. On the one hand, the episode works well to establish how alienated Kurt is starting to feel even within the New Directions and it builds towards him going to Dalton, which I like and consider good storytelling. On the other, it's incredibly frustrating to watch this kid be so isolated when he would need his friends the most just because Glee decided (and in-universe Schue) that they wanted to preach about religious tolerance. Just leave the damn kid alone. It's just one of those instances where we should not be having philosophical discussions; literally who gives a fuck, Kurt might lose his only living parent! So Grilled Cheesus as a whole is a frustrating watch despite me appreciating certain storytelling elements.
If anything, Anon, I have too many opinions on this. Some of it is strong feelings about the injustice and hypocrisy of it all but the rest are just frustrations on a story level because it feels so unnecessary. But the bottom line is that Kurt was right and his friends should have respected him more than their religious preaching. And again, just pray at home or go to church and discuss it with your pastor. Not the time to try and convince your friend that religion can be good, actually. Who gives a fuck, literally read the room Stacy.
#nothing makes me go into such a protect kurt mood like grilled cheesus does#literally why does everyone else suck so bad#they're just so... ignorant of the weight of the situation#can you stop thinking only about yourself for one second#and again mercedes has the best of intentions#but maybe what kurt needed was for you to LISTEN#i could go on honestly#i think i summarized most of my thoughts but there's more where that came from#glee asks#anon#kurt asks#kurt hummel#grilled cheesus

meet the bakugous â pt. 3
â pairing: katsuki bakugou x f!reader
â cw/an: sfw, a little crack, we finally meet the parental units of the bakugou variety, remember what i said about overwriting?, yeah pt. 3 is 1.1k words but hopefully i've made it worth your while my loves
â series navi: â pt. 2 â pt. 3 â pt. 4 ->
It was early Sunday evening when Katsuki pulled up to his parentsâ home - the home heâd grown up in. He hadnât talked very much about his parents and when he did, the things he told you were about what youâd expect from a ânormalâ family. You were a little nervous, but the same couldnât be said for your boyfriend.Â
Heâd never taken a girl home to meet his parents before. His dad, he wasnât worried about. It was his mom and herâŚintense personality that troubled him. She would embarrass him, that was a given. But just how far she would go made him beyond nervous. Agitated, actually. He even yelled at another driver in traffic on the way there. When you squeezed his hand he growled and rolled up the driver side window. âSorry,â he grumbled, glancing over at you.Â
Heâd considered turning down the invitation without even telling you about it, but he knew heâd never hear the end of it. And besides, he really was serious about you and knew saying no would just delay the inevitable. Might as well just do it and get it over with.Â
Katsuki had just closed the door behind you when you heard a loud âKatsuki!! Sâthat you?!â
âYeah, Ma!â he yelled back.
The shuffle of slippered footsteps closed in fast and when you looked up from taking your shoes off, a small female version of Katsuki was beaming at you. Sheâs his mom?, you thought. She looks young enough to be his older sister. She was gorgeous.
âYou must be (y/n)!â she said, clapping her hands together.
âOf course she is, old lady! Who the fuck else would she be?â
You bristled a bit at your boyfriendâs snide remark to his mom, but before you could so much as make eye contact with him you found yourself in the tight embrace of a mama bear. Any doubts you may have had about the authenticity of her perfect boobs were swiftly eradicated when they squished against you.Â
âIt is so nice to finally meet you! Katsuki just went on and on about you the other day!âÂ
Oh great, here we fuckin go, he thought.Â
She pulled away from you to get a better look at you, her hands still holding onto your upper arms as you exchanged pleasantries. Her long, thick eyelashes prompted you to make a mental note to talk Katsuki into letting you put makeup on him sometime.Â
âYou are so pretty!â she beamed.Â
âThank you,â you said, standing in reciprocal awe of Mitsuki Bakugouâs breathtaking beauty. âSo are you!â
Her sparkling carmine eyes went as big as Katsukiâs head, her open grin splitting from ear to ear. She glanced over at her son then back at you. âKatsuki Bakugou, you better marry her!â
âJesus, Ma! Shut up!â he gritted through clenched teeth. His heart, however, clenched at the way you and his mother took to each other like ducks to water, but even more so at the prospect of being your husband someday. It was something that had already crossed his mind a couple of times.
You heard the clearing of a throat and everyone turned to see Katsukiâs father standing there with a warm smile on his face. âHi, (y/n), Iâm Katsukiâs dad, but you can call me Masaru.â He gave you a shallow bow, which you returned with a deeper one.
âSo nice to meet you, Mr. Bakugou.â
He laughed and rubbed the back of his neck. âNo, really! Please call me Masaru.â
His wife agreed. âAnd call me Mitsuki!â She took you by the hand. âCome on in, Iâll give you a quick tour.â
âDinner smells delicious!â you said, sniffing the air.
âOh, Masaru does most of the cooking. Lucky for you, Katsuki inherited his fatherâs culinary skills.â
Father and son watched - the former smiling, the latter cringing - as you and Mitsuki disappeared around the corner, laughing.
Masaru noticed Katsukiâs stiff posture and gave him a reassuring pat on the back. âRelax, Katsuki.â
As they strolled into the living room together, Mitsukiâs voice rang out from the other end of the house. âAnd this is Katsukiâs old bedroom! We left his All Might posters up for when he comes home to visit!â
Masaru hazarded a look at his son and saw about what he expected: Katsukiâs beet red face twisted in something between rage and psychological pain.
âCâmon, son,â he sighed, clapping Katsuki's tense shoulder. âIâll make us both drinks.â
At one point during dinner, Mitsuki made a strange comment. âKatsuki couldnât keep either of the other girls heâs dated around long enough for me to meet them!âÂ
Your boyfriend growled at his mother. âShut the fuck up, Ma! I swear your mouth is bigger than your brain sometimes!â
It was a bit uncomfortable but when Mitsuki waved his outburst away you relaxed again.
âItâs just as well since it means I get to be with him now,â you said, reaching over and playing with the hair at the nape of his neck.Â
Katsukiâs ears turned bright red. His parents had never seen him having an affectionate or intimate moment with anyone. A little bit of embarrassment and a whole lot of pride swelled in his chest knowing his mother was finally witnessing your love for him.
The best part was he hadnât even told you about the harsh, disparaging things she had said to him over the years. Sheâd always told him that no woman in her right mind would want to be with him or put up with his shit.Â
But now here you were - someone she clearly adored - fawning over him, praising him, and saying how lucky you are to be with him. You didnât even know you were proving her wrong, vindicating him in front of her very eyes.Â
Suck it, you old hag. You see that? You hearing this? (Y/n) loves me AND sheâs fucking amazing, he thought with a sly grin on his face.
As far as you were concerned, dinner was lovely, as was your visit. Both his parents were incredibly sweet and made the fact that they approved of you more than apparent. Katsuki knew they would - youâre a beautiful human inside and out. Only a shitty idiot would think anything less of you.Â
But what did you think of them? He was anxious to find out. By all outward appearances you seemed to like them. But he knew how adept you were at social graces. What were your true impressions? He hoped to be with you for as long as youâd have him. He wanted you to love all the things that made him who he is, which, for better or worse, included his dysfunctional family.Â
As you and Katsuki walked out to his car, forced leftovers in hand, you smiled remembering Mitsukiâs words: âKatsuki Bakugou, you better marry her!â

I come bringing ideas and headcanons.
OK, so we all already know what The Three oldest archons abilities. So Iâve come up with my own ideas we could use for the younger archons! (And yes Iâm grouping Ei, Venti and Zhongli as the older siblings since Ei Is 1000 years old Venti is 2,500 and Zhongli is 5,000-6,000 and the other archons are still in the hundreds I think)
Again these arenât canon just stuff you can use for future Requests for Twisted wonderland x Teyvat God! Reader
For Dendro archon!Reader
Definitely a Bow User. And Is a Healer. But the their Ult can cause damage
I have a theory That during the Archon War The dendro Archin created the Regisvines to fight for them, and only two were left. I also Headcanon The dendro archon can bring plants to life and overwrite what each plant can do. (Maybe even bring mushrooms to life đ).
Maybe They can create a giant plant from the ground that spreads Healing energies and since this is a god where talking about can Cure Curses (Ahem Vils Curses Ahem) and major Diseases and what not.
For Their Ult maybe a giant plant monster (kinda like how Gouba and Oz exists ) that will attack for them (could make for fun combos with different elements like if the dendro archon was wet Hydro Plant monster)
For Hydro archon!reader
Polearm or sword (theirs way too many Hydro Catalyst) Healer and Dps, Why? Cause I say so.
Youâve mentioned how Hydro archon summons a giant wave? Iâll do you one better and their E skill summons a giant sea creature of your choosing to soak the fighters (A cool visual is their polearm turning into a big dream catcher then going swoosh and Baam Maybe like A giant Water Koi fish finna drown your ass *ahem ace ahem*)
Now mihoyo likes to reference Their character form honkai impact into genshin impact (and since they took a characters look from Honkai and another characters abilities with the whole Dual ego thing for Raiden shogun and Ei) Iâm gonna base this Ultimate Skill From a character from Honkai (for research search up Herrsercher of Sentience)
Since the Hydro archons whole thing is about Justice. Now here me out here. WATER WHIP. Just a giant whip of water that can go on for miles (maybe itâs salty maybe itâs like fresh water depends on our readers mood lolol). Like, Itâs whip of water strong enough to cut diamond or whatever it would be very cool (Kalim would wanna see if he could do something like that with his UM Que jamil trying to stop him)
Maybe their hair turns into water too.
Pyro archon! Reader
Claymore. A Big strong war god needs a big strong weapon. Dps and Defense.
Now Itâs not just one claymore, Itâs DUAL-CLAYMORE, why? Cause itâs a war god thatâs why!
I like to think the shield is like Xinyans and XiangLings combined and itâs constantly sending off tiny Fire Discs. Or just symbols shooting fire like what the Pyro Abyss mages can do
For Ultimate I like to think itâs like Childes Daggers but Bigger and on fire just a huge sword made of fire.
The pyro archon doesnât think just BURNS. and STABE
Cryo archon! Reader
I canât really come up with much for Cryo archon. But maybe a Catalyst that can summon a giant blizzard that drops down giant ice swords (kinda like Ganyus)
Definitely a sub DPS.
Maybe a healer too since The Tsaritsa is The archon of love?
What do you think about these abilities? Since you mentioned that the students and staff would assume their just strong mages I tried to be very creative with these abilities.
Also how I think the lore could go is maybe somewhere after leonas overblot and before azuls, Crowly has found a way to send Yuu home reluctantly. Yuu, grim and the aduece duo, and maybe some of heartslaybul or savana claw whoever you want come with them to the office to send them home. But Yuu is contemplating whether or not they WANT to go home now. But something goes wrong, maybe grim messes up the spell for the portal to work becuase (although he doesnât want to admit it ) doesnât want Yuu leaving, and their greeted with a surprise guest. Now this gives Yuu time to decide if they genuinely wanna go home and when teh archon finally has the materials they need to create a portal Yuu will tell them to leave the portal open (maybe put it into a tiny pocket mirror like the how we have the teapot) because they wanna stay for a little while or just until grim graduates (Que a happy fire cat ) and the archon whose grown attached to some people here was like ok âlet our friends visit whenever they want, only if their headmaster allows itâ
Now onto the headcanons
Anemo Archon! Reader and Mondstadt! Yuu
Everyone expected a lot of things not a person with Green eyes and (H/C) hair with green highlights. And an odd thing about them was the glowing stone on their person, Yuu didnât have that?
Everyoneâs freaking out because theyâve accidentaly taken another person from Yuus world.
And since Venti Is a well known famous bard In teyvat letâs say or Dear (y/N) is also a known bard and is not at all freaking out about whatâs going on in fact letâs say our dear reader recognizes Yuu! And so now (Y/N) is now a new student (and a new headache for Crowley) in the ramshackle dorm! Yup! Just an ordinary human bard, Ehe~.
Iâll leave the rest of this up to you, Where Yuu has to explain what the world of teyvat is like (and why Yuu doesnât have a phone (and a vision) because Twisted wonderland is far more advance in Technology and teyvat has JUST invented the Camera)
Also I head canon that people with Visions can summon their weapons and object with their visions, ok? Ok. To make things make more sense when reader pulls out a lyre from floating glitter.
Geo archon!reader and Liyue! Yuu
Same things happend here, but hey! Weâve summoned a Funeral Consultant! A very (ahemATTRACTIVEahem) Wise funeral consultant at best!
Our dear Friend (y/n) is very calm about the situation as well. After all everyone and liyue knows their god was killed and The Adepti are watching over them
So Our dear reader is seeing this as a free vacation đ
Electro Archon!Reader and Inazuma!yuu
Since the god of Inazuma isnât âDeadâ or hasnât left and the people know what their beloved archon looks like, Yuu will definitely Be Freaking the fuck out
âYOU DIDNT BRING ME HOME YOU JUST SUMMONED MY PEOPLES FUCKING GOD OH SHITâ
insert the meme of the womens face that gets zoomed in on the second panel âthe. WHAT.â đ
And yâknow how Eis âHelloâ voice line where she makes the traveler her guard she says the same thing to Yuu except âI recognize you are one of my people as your archon I shall be your guard and keep you safe from any danger in this Foreign worldâ and letâs say The puppet will not be used and Reader will be in control becuase they donât have to worry about erosion right now so the puppet will be resting while (Y/N) is in control protecting their Precious Inazuma citizen is ok.
Well until They can get the materials they need to open a portal. Iâll let you figure out the rest, but congrats ramshackle you now have a god in your abode đâ¨
-Plot Anon đ
PLOT ANON-SAMAAAAAAAAAA ILY!!!!!!!!! Thank you for your hard work sob
Anyways, for skills of the archons-
Dendro Archon
I think they'd use a sword or a catalyst tbh, if the skills you listed, it makes a little more sense to have them be more of a catalyst
For their elemental skill, I think they'd summon/throw something similar to Klee's and Aloy's elemental skill except they heal if someone in your party is nearby, their healing could scale by their EM or ER.
For their burst, I like your head canon for the Dendro Archon, so I might go off from that and your idea for their burst, just more tweaking. The dendro archon would be able to summon a large plant that heals AND deals Dendro damage by sapping mobs hp. The amount of life sapping it does and the healing would scale off their original HP (artifacts that give hp won't be of use)
Hydro Archon
I agree with hydro polearm or sword. Too many catalysts
Mmm... To be honest, I think you should have the burst be her skill... The whip idea is intriguing, but I think it would work more for a skill which can allow them to use it several times before waiting for the CD to go down. I think the whip skill would work better with Crit as well.
AND AS FOR THE MENTIONS OF WAVE AND A SEA CREATURE, I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER BUT FOR THEIR BURST!!!! They summon a large tsunami which takes form of a monster/animal and lunges at the mobs (similar to Zhongli tossing down a dumbbell), however the amount of damage the burst can do is depending on if they are afflicted by the wet status the mobs are afflicted by. If already afflicted with hydro, the mobs would receive double damage while those with other elements afflicted on them would receive the element combination DMG and normal DMG while those that aren't affected by an element, they would receive normal damage. The amount of damage the burst does is scaled by EM.
Pyro Archon
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA CLAYMORE
Hmmm.... I think the skill would be they set an AoE with magma, mobs will receive damage from it and will continue to receive damage if they stay on it, but those who are in party, they will receive an ATK boost that scales from HP.
For the burst, I think I'll use a character from Honkai Impact with their special move which is Murata Himeko in Vermilion Knight: Eclipse battlesuit. Pyro Archon uses their claymore and another claymore but made of pyro and is far more larger and their cut scene has the Archon raise the pyro claymore above their head and slam it down to send pyro erupting from the ground (similar to the pyro axe wielding hilichurls)
Cryo Archon
I agree with catalyst
Mmmmmm.... I'd say her skill would beeeeee... Trapping several mobs or so in ice. They can either do 2-4 ice traps depending if you got their c1. (The ice traps are similar to Mirror Maidens traps BTW but it deals or affects the mobs with cryo)
For burst, I like the idea of summoning a blizzard/swords, but it's similar to Ganyu's. SO I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER!!!! Cryo Archon will summon a blizzard which freezes mobs without having to use hydro, the freeze status lasts for a total of 15 seconds or higher if you got their c3
Hmmm... I like the idea, but imma tweak it a bit. The archon was in fact summoned through that portal because Grim decided to mess it up just for Yuu to stay a little longer, and so the Archon now resides in Twisted Wonderland as well in order to aide them until they can return back to their world. That way it makes more sense and makes it more fun.
Anemo archon
Yuu would be a bit jealous about them because they got a vision.
Crowley needs to hide his money
Sam has been strictly told to not give them wine that Sam stores in his shop...
Vargus is conflicted about them because they legit float without magic
Trein recurved a major headache
Divus is praying to whatever god existing to take them back
Ehe
EHE TE NANDAYO!?
Geo Archon
Yuu feels awkward meeting the consultant of the funeral parlor having to meet the Director...
Crowley is praying for dear god for them to go away.
"STOP TAKING MY MONEY YOU GORGEOUS FIEND" - Crowley
Train + Crewel + You = Besties
Sam was literally threatened to not joke around with you with business.
You legit did not fuck around with people when in contracts.
"Osmanthus wi-"
"SHUT THE HELL UP" - everyone
Electro Archon
Yuu is literally terrified in "your" presence.
Shogun malfunctioned due to being in an entirely new world so you had to disable Shogun's rules and create new ones regarding this world.
Yuu is still unaware of Shogun being a puppet
Crowley is no longer safe.
The staff (specifically Crewel) is supporting Shogun/You to beat Crowley's ass into shape.
Only the Diasomnia dorm knows your predicament with you and your puppet(s).
You are the definition of Queen/King/Royalty of the school. If you search up NRC, your picture literally plastered on it as the definition.

Iâm a big believer that Dickâs independence and self-reliance isnât in any way rooted in him just being stubborn, prideful or self-destructive. I view it as being in his eyes a necessityâŚ.because on a deep, fundamental levelâŚ.Dick doesnât trust anything to be permanent.Â
Iâll always go back to the fact that his character archetype isnât that of the everyman, because he was of lower class origins compared to Bruceâs extreme upper class background.....but rather that given that Dick Grayson was allegedly exceptional from his debut, a child prodigy capable of feats of acrobatics few in the world could match....he could never actually be classified as an everyman. Rather, his core archetype is that of the fish out of water. The individual taken from the comforts of his original pond and thrust into a limelight of an entirely different nature from the one he grew up in, with the two not at all being interchangeable, and necessitating he change and adapt in dramatic and often unanticipated ways just to keep his footing in his new environs.
Its not incidental that his initial tragedy wasnât JUST the loss of his parents, but rather the loss of his old routines, extended family, environment, way of life, expectations for the way his future would play out....it ALL vanished on the same night, never to return again. The loss of his parents was tragedy enough all on its own, but its really only one part of what Dick lost that night. He lost his entire footing. His frames of reference. Everything his life had previously prepared him for and everything he could have used as a familiar comfort or source of stability to lean on, if it had been âjustâ his parents that he lost.
And I fundamentally donât believe you ever get over THAT loss, no matter what peace you make with the loss of your loved ones or specific elements of that. Once youâve experienced a shake-up of that size, once you have a bone-deep, visceral awareness of how completely your life can change in the blink of an eye, how you can effectively be set back to zero as though nothing youâve previously accomplished matters (remember, he went from a kid whose name drew crowds on its OWN merits, based on what HE was capable of due to his own work and skills, the youngest of the Flying Graysons, capable of an acrobatic feat barely anyone else in the world could master......to being a kid who was only ever identified as in the context of Bruce Wayne having taken him in, as though his existence and worth were defined by someone elseâs act of compassion rather than based on anything heâd ever done on his own, when the fact of the matter is even by age eight, heâd already accomplished a LOT)....
Like, the point is, you canât go through a shake-up like that and ever fully FORGET how complete and total a change it was, how big a rewrite of your entire life story.Â
Thatâs a trauma all its own, one that goes largely unacknowledged, and one that I donât think Bruce and Alfred or anyone else fully realized was even there TO need addressing in the first place. So of course how could they ever fully address it, without realizing a need?
And I think Dickâs constant moves and self-reliance are actually born of that primal awareness that there are no guarantees, that nothing is truly permanent, that anything can be taken away in an instant.
Heâs always waiting for the other shoe to drop, for everything to be taken away again - as people have pointed out in other posts, Dick can never seem to have nice things. Even the apartment building he lived in while in BludhavenâŚ.that wasnât some height of luxury by ANY stretch of the imaginationâŚwas lost to him, along with all the friends and neighbors and community heâd built among them, something evidenced by how highly they all spoke of him, even to a total stranger. And thatâs not even getting into how even the CITY he sought to establish himself as a guardian over, like, he lost the city itself. The CITY!
Dick, I believe, insists on holding down 9-5 jobs and paying his own way and only touching money that comes from Bruce originally, when likeâŚhe has no other option or its to help someone elseâŚ.just like heâs resistant to ever fully putting down roots, at least none so deep that he canât uproot himself and quickly relocate without ripping off a piece of himself and leaving it still buried in the ground behind him.Â
Because deep down, heâs always bracing for the next seismic event thatâll rip everything away from him, and he wants to be prepared. He WANTS to make sure he never takes anything for granted. That if he loses it all - hell, if he and Bruce fight again and Bruce decides once and for all to take it all away from Dick, cut their ties, something that would very much be a deep-rooted insecurity for a kid with as massive of abandonment issues as Dick must have given his childhood and a number of events after thatâŚ
Dick I think needs to trust that heâll be capable of surviving, of standing on his own two feet, if the worst should ever happen again and heâs left on his own again. His self-reliance and obsessive need for independence arenât a REJECTION of anyone else or anything Bruce or others have ever done for him.
Theyâre simply the defense mechanisms of a boy who was once upon a time torn away from everything he knew and in certain origins was then on top of that plunged into hellish circumstances before finding a refuge with BruceâŚ.
And the man that boy grew up to be, who is determined to never be caught in a situation like that again, where his very survival might otherwise require the kindness of a strangerâŚ.with Dick knowing better than to count on lightning striking twice there, and him getting lucky a second time.
So in a lot of ways, my core perception of Dick having spent more time growing up in the luxury of Wayne Manor than any of the other kids is that its largely irrelevant to who he grew up to be. Because he was still more than old enough by the time he arrived that he had formative experiences all his own that no amount of time was sufficient to overwrite and exchange for new ones.
His experiences are so extreme in terms of the loss of all forms of stability, that the SHAPE that stability takes in the periods where his life IS stable, is largely unimportant. Because its the absence of stability thatâs the defining recurrence in his life. Even the stability offered by his childhood in Wayne Manor eventually gave way to canon where he left the Manor before he was even eighteen, as well as canon where no matter how it was ultimately reversed, he was for a time affected by having the ability to call the Manor his home STRIPPED AWAY FROM HIM. Thus even when Bruce did ultimately welcome him back, there still retained an awareness that even the fact that this had happened in the first place was a reminder that even THIS was something Dick could lose, that no matter how stable his childhood there had been at times, it couldnât in and of itself be COUNTED as a source of stability due to the simple fact that his ability to call it his home HADNâT turned out to be an irrevocable constant.Â
And so this is another of those areas where I think its fundamentally an oversight to have members of the family commenting on Dickâs self-reliance or tendencies to relocate himself, let alone in any kind of critical capacity......
If thereâs not going to be an acknowledgment within the family or by the people raising these criticisms like, what kind of a role the family themselves have played in Dick feeling a NEED to have these tendencies in the first place.
If someone doesnât trust in any place he lives in to ever truly be a constant in his life, truly permanent, that anything can be taken away in the right circumstances....and you yourself have done something that has made him feel or given him reason TO leave a place heâs found stability in at some point in the past....you kiiiiiinda forsake your right to be critical of his inability to see any place as permanent or constant, yâknow?
Like, insert Miranda Whatshername gif or Meryl Streep peering down her glasses and going oh I see, you think this has nothing to do with you.
So Iâd argue that Dickâs insistence on simulating the average personâs reality of livelihood, even when he has other means and funds available to himâŚ.just as his insistence on being as solely responsible for the well-being of the place or people he sees as his responsibilities, being single-minded about relying only on himself for tasks that he sees as ultimately having nothing to do with someone other than himself, etc....
All that is in my opinion BECAUSE heâs so firmly attached to the reality that anything and everything can be taken away, at ANY given moment. That he can be reduced to having nothing and no one he can depend on BEYOND just his own innate skills and experiences, the only things he trusts to be truly unable to be stripped from him by others.
If you ask me, one of the core aspects of Dickâs characterization throughout his adulthood in canon is SPECIFICALLY his fear that everything he cares about, or trusts, or relies onâŚcan be taken away from him or lost.Â
And his determination to make sure that heâll be able to survive even if that should ever happen again.

Hey, I was wondering if you could do something about the brothers comforting Mc. Your one of my favorite writers and I've been having some relationship trouble and could use some fluffy demon boys . If you don't want to I understand, don't feel obligated to do this! anyway I hope you have a nice day!
Aw! I know what that feels like babe. Usually I pick things from the bottom of my pile to write (unless I'm struck with like, lighting quick inspiration lmao), but I saw you said you were struggling and felt I had to make some sort of attempt. Sometimes real people just suck, and sometimes real relationships do too, but don't let it ever hold you back from finding happiness. I almost did. I'm thankful I didn't. Good luck darling!
On another note, I need to find someone to explain how to get this damn stardew valley mod! Time to find some ancient youtube video lmao
Also! WARNING:mentions of panic attacks!
Lucifer
Lucifer is pretty decent when it comes to comfort.
Not really in such an emotional sense. Yes, he does express his care for you, and he'll always insist that whatever issue you're dealing with is so minuscule compaired to your being, but truthfully he's very good with the facts.
He lays it all out fairly plainly. You'll get the questions like "Why is this bothering you?", "What can you do to fix it?", "If you can't change anything, why are you so adamant on punishing yourself for not trying?", ext.
He'll even ask you what the benefits are of fixing the issue/relationship, if it's even worth it, and help you sort out whatever muddled emotions you might be feeling.
You might still feel sad, but that's okay. Feeling sad is apart of change, and with Lucifer by your side, change will happen in the most productive way possible.
Mammon
He doesn't really know why you came to him first.
He's not exactly known for his problem-solving skills and tender hand.
Which is pretty solid assumption, proven by the way he automatically rises to go beat up who/what is bothering you.
Mammon looks so enraged it's almost goofy.
You'll have to stop him from causing chaos.(*cough* raising hell *cough*)
Amongst all his anger and your giggled pleas for him to calm down and just hold you, you forget what you're upset over.
It's not a permanent fix. You'll still feel all the hurt again, but in that moment it's an escape.
Sometimes taking a break from the pain isn't that bad, especially when you're accompanied by a white-haired demon content on overwriting that memory with cheesy action films.
Leviathan
This is not really a scenario he ever thought he'd find himself in.
Like, sure, you complain to him about school, and his brothers, but you're never crying or red in the face.
He's kinda at a loss for words.
So he acts on instinct, cutting you off by wrapping you in his arms
(He saw this is an anime once, he thinks?)
It's tight and restrictive and just enough to keep you from running over the line leading to a panic attack.
You'll stay like that for a while, up until you start laughing at his awkward conversation tactics or the blush on his face.
He makes you promise never to go through these things alone, because no one should have to.
Satan
Satan is an armchair psychologist.
Sometimes it does wonders. The coping methods he repeats are good for problems that would normally ruin your day.
But in situations where all you can do is lay on your bed and feet over the smallest of things, it's a little too late. All you want him to do is hold you.
He isn't really for it at first, making attempts to get you to try all the things your normally do, but eventually he caves.
Then Satan realizes, sometimes all you need to do is just vent. To get out all your grievances. You don't need advice, you don't need opinions, you just need to state your feelings.
He's okay with that.
Asmodeus
Asmodeus is the queen of unhealthy coping skills.
He takes you out drinking, and by the time you two come stumbling home, you're both in tears over something with no real answers or comfort.
The whole night you'll just cling onto each other in a drunken stupor
It doesn't do much to help.
But it does do a bit.
You'll now have the memory of staying up late, clinging to Asmo as both of you sob to each other like some movie aimed at highschool girls.
Being stupid and reckless feels fun, but it doesn't really help.
Beelzebub
Beelzebub is a good listener and gives advice like a wise old man.
He's honest, and tells you what you need to know in the most delicate and basic way possible.
Will cuddle you until you feel better.
Might make you a snack or a hot drink to calm your nerves. It just depends on how you're feeling
Rubs your back in a calm, soothing way. After a long rant it will always make you sleepy.
He'll probably encourage you to take a hot bath and change into pajamas before you go to bed before you fall asleep. Beel says it will make you feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.
It does help, and you always sleep well with Beelzebub.
Belphegor
Belphie helps you in the only way he knows how; trash talk.
(Or sleep, but it's hard to sleep when you're so upset)
He'll encourage you to let out your frustrations with little comments worded just right, always aimed at making you feel justified.
Tbh he might just make you feel more riled up, but at leas you aren't sad.
At least you'll be able to sleep it all off in the arms of someone you know loves and cares for you!

DIABOLIK LOVERS MORE, MORE BLOOD Vol.13 Kino [Track 5 + Epilogue]
Original title: 玹ĺşăŽćĺž & ă¨ăăăźă°
Source: Diabolik Lovers More, More Blood Vol. 13 Kino [CD not owned by me]
Audio: Here (48:01 ~ 64:58)
Seiyuu: Tomoaki Maeno
Translatorâs note: D A M N. Just like most MMB CDs, the main part of the CD ends with somewhat of a cliffhanger/bittersweet note. However, I would definitely rank this CD as one of my favorites in the series despite not having much attachment to Kino as a character! Iâm super curious about his Another Story track so Iâll have to look for the audio of that one! If I find it, Iâll be sure to translate it for you guys as well!

Track 5: Melody of the Miniature Garden
*Rattle*
â...Haah. Not this one either, huh? The next doorâsăźăźâ
You try and walk over to the next door but nearly collapse.
*Rustle*
â...Hey!â
Kino catches you just in time.
*Thud*
âYouâre shaky in your steps...! You canât walk any more. ...It canât be helped, so letâs just take a small break for now.â
You try and act tough.
â...âFineâ, you say? Listen up, you donât look that way at all. Why not just admit youâre having a hard time? It only causes extra trouble when you overexert yourself.â
You say sorry.
âAh, no! I wasnât trying to get you to apologize! ...Haah, it sucks how I end up taking out my anger on you. I have to admit, this situation has got me pretty freaked out as well.â
*Rustle*
â...Havenât you been pushing yourself? Iâve been thinking you see...A human bodyâs fragile, unlike mine. On top of that, itâs my fault...things turned out this way.â
You shake your head.
âLook at you being way too nice for your own good again...Iâm obviously to blame. Itâs fine for you to get mad at me for getting you involved, you know?â
You comfort Kino.Â
âThatâs...Well, youâre right that I didnât know this would happen. So in a sense you could say it is a case of force majeure. Honestly...Even in the most dire of situations, you never change, do you? I hope we can quickly find our way out and get to enjoy a nice, relaxing break at home. Just the two of us, while snacking on some konpeito.â
You agree.
âMakes sense. You want to get out of here as soon as possible as well, donât you? In that case, letâs try our hardest to keep walking, okay?â
You get back on your feet.
â...As to be expected, youâre still shaky in your step and your complexion is pale as well. No matter how hard you try, you must be nearing your limit.â
*Cling*
âItâll be hit or miss...But guess I should give it a shot.â
Your eyes widen in shock.
âIâd rather never use this cursed item again either but letâs use this to rewind time. If we go back to before we arrived at school, we should effectively make it out of this maze, right?â
You seem worried.
âI know! If this âbugâ gets any worse, then we might actually...But you know, if we stay here like this any longer, youâll be in danger. Not just physically, but mentally as well, right? ...Iâm sure youâre more than fed up with this suffocating place, arenât you? Itâs fine, I donât need to hear your reply. Itâs written all over your face. Letâs use this...to return home. And then, Iâll never use it again. Iâm going back to my dull school life...!â
*Tick tock - Tick tock - Tick tock - Tick tock*
ăźăźăź
â...!? Weâre not at home...!? ...How come!? Why the broadcasting room...!?â
*Cling*
âThereâs still magical energy left inside, so why did it fail!? Donât tell me...Because this space has been distorted as well?â
You gasp.
âEh...? Whatâs wrong?â
You point towards the wall.Â
â...!! Youâve got to be kidding me. ...Why are there this many doors!? The whole entire wall is covered in them! On the ceiling...and even the floor as well!? What is going on...!? Itâs gotten even worse than before!? Fuck...!!â
He rushes towards the âexitâ.
*Rattle*
âKuh...! Itâs a hallway after all...â
*Rattle*
âThis one too...!â
*Rattle*
â...What is going on!? Why are there hallways running even underneath the floor!? ...I guess I shouldnât have rewinded time after all. We canât return home either and now space has been even more distorted...! Why did things turn out like this!? ...Is it because I turned back time too much? Because I...used that Hourglass? Because of me...â
You start shivering.
â...!! Are you okay...? Youâre shaking...Are you crying?â
Kino approaches you.Â
â...Say. You donât have to cry? Iâm here with you. Iâll definitely fix this somehow! So...â
You suddenly burst out in laughter.
â...Eh? Why are you laughing...?
You start destroying the room in a frenzy.
*THUD*
*SHATTER*
â...Hey! Get a hold of yourself!
You press the ON button.
*Bzzzzzzzt*
â...Why did you turn that on!?â
Kino swiftly turns it off again.
âLook at me...!â
*Rustle*
âGet a grip! ...What exactly is so funny!?â
You tell him you are having so much fun.
âHah...? What are you saying? How could you describe this as âhaving a fun school lifeâ...!? This isnât enjoyable in the slightest!â
You insist.
âWhy do you keep on spouting nonsense? I donât know if youâre just trying to be funny, but itâs not working!â
You continue talking like a lunatic.
âS...Shut up! Donât speak another word!â
You ignore his pleas.
âShut it! Donât speak...!â
You chuckle again.
âUu...Haah, haah...Ahăź Fufu...Fufufu...I see...Youâve finally lost your mind, huh? I no longer know how much time has passed since we started, but I guess it was enough for your mind to break.â
*Rustle*
âI wonder if Iâm to blame for this as well? I played with both time and you...Itâs my fault. My sin. In that case...I might as well...!â
Kino grabs hold of you and bites you.
*Gulp gulp gulp*
â...I no longer care. If we canât escape this anyway, Iâll just enjoy it instead. ...As long as youâre here with me, I can enjoy myself like this. ...Youâre having fun as well, arenât you?â
You nod.
âKnew it. I figured youâd nod. Although I no longer know if those are your true feelings, or if your madness has taken over. I donât care. Either way works...I love you.â
*Rustle*
âIâll suck you gently this time, okay? Try telling me where you want my fangs. ...You understand? Can you do that?â
You ask to be bitten above your chest.
â...Fufu~ So thatâs where you want it, huh? ...Understood. As you wish, Iâll thrust them all the way to your heart, and suck your blood.â
Kino bites you once more.
*Gulp gulp gulp*
â...Hah! ...Ahahaha! Seems like somebody is enjoying themselves. Your face is bright red, how shameless of you! Did it feel good to have me suck you gently? ...However, are you okay? Your body seems to be twitching and convulsing. Well...I guess you like it when itâs a little painful.â
*Rustle*
â...Say. I know why you chose the chest, you know? You want to overwrite the painful reality with an even stronger sensation of pain and pleasure, donât you? You want to forget, even if for just one second. I felt better once I had your blood as well. ...I mean, itâs mind-blowingly delicious after all.â
You ask him to bite you again.
â...Yeah. Youâre craving for it again, huh? I know. I havenât had nearly enough either.â
*Rustle*
âWell then, where should I suck from next?â
Kino ponders for a bit.
âRight. Iâll suck from your ear next. I quite like biting you here. With the sound echoing straight to your skull, Iâm sure itâll make for quite the intense experience. I bet thatâs the ultimate reward anyone could give you today?â
*Smooch*
â...Nice reaction. Youâve gotten rather sensitive, havenât you? You want it that badly?â
You nod.
âFufu~ I see. ...But when you yearn after me that strongly, it makes me want to torment you instead. I suppose it wouldnât be bad to tease you a little.â
You beg him not to.
*Rustle*
âFufu~ Look at you clinging onto me because you want my fangs so badly. What happened to the usual pure act? Donât you feel ashamed, acting this way towards a man? Well, I guess youâve lost all reason right now. ...But rest assured, I love you regardless.â
You beg for his fangs again.
â...I know, I know. You can barely wait, can you? I was just feeling thirsty again as well, so Iâll suck you plenty.â
Kino bites you a third time.
*Gulp gulp gulp*
â...Hah. Mm~ ...Sweet. I can clearly tell just how worked up you are right now. ...For some reason, Iâm starting to feel more and more fine with the current situation. You told me earlier while laughing, didnât you? That youâre happy to be able to attend school together with me. I bet you wouldnât be able to endure this situation if you didnât tell yourself that, no? That as long as Iâm with you, everything will be fine. I doubt youâd be able to keep going otherwise, would you?Â
...I feel the same way. Just the two of us. Thatâs how it should be. ...Exactly, itâs perfect! Ideal! The ultimate form of happiness! Weâre alone here...So thereâs nobody else to get in our way. I wonder why I panicked that much earlier? There honestly was no need to. I mean, even if weâre locked up in here forever, I can simply have fun with you. As long as I have you, thatâs all I need.â
You agree.
âRight? Iâm glad we both feel the same way. Locked in each otherâs embrace foreverăźăź kissing you, sucking your blood...Honestly, school life really is a blast! Fufu...Ahahahaha...Ahahaha!!!â
Track 6: Epilogue
â...Say, youâre still not satisfied, are you? ...You want more, donât you? ...Sure. Iâll give it to you.â
Kino bites you.
*Gulp gulp gulp*
â...Hah! ...Haah, haah...Howâs that? I bet it feels pretty nice when I suck from your shoulder as well? Thereâs little flesh, so Iâm sure you can clearly feel my fangs sinking in? ...Shall I bite the same spot once more? Iâm sure thatâll...â
*Rustle*
â...Huh? ...Oh. Youâve lost consciousness? I wonder when that happened? I got so absorbed in sucking your blood, I didnât even realize. ...Fufu~ Iâm sorry for making you go through all of this. However, I promise. No matter what happens, Iâll stay by your side forever. ...So you can rest assured. ...Sweet dreams, my Princess.â
*Smooch*

Soooo⌠i know the game isnât as popular as it was hyped but I liked it. So how about an Cyberpunk AU? With Sonny as V and Pete as Johnny Silverhand
Yooooo this game has GOOD angst potential!
Imagine, Sonny and Usnavi are living in this poor futuristic neighborhood. Usnavi runs a store as usual, but Sonny (I'm thinking a mix between a NetRunner and a Techie), does 'mercenary work' or hired crime as Usnavi calls it, on the side as a way to help with money because he knows how badly Usnavi is struggling to support the two of them. Usnavi and Sonny have fought about this many MANY times, Usnavi going on about how Sonny is throwing away his future and wondering what he'll do if his baby boy ends up in prison or worse, but Sonny never stops. He's doing this because he loves Usnavi, and until he can find some alternative way, this is all he's got.
Then, Sonny gets a biochip and a deceased artist stuck in his head. ...Maybe Usnavi was kinda right.
Sonny meets Pete, a semi-famous artist, but better known for his Thermonucear Attack on Arasaka many years ago. Pete gives Sonny the whole spiel about Arasaka, the Relic, Soulkiller, the works. Basically, we gotta find a way to get Pete out of Sonny's head and fast because the chip is slowly overwriting Sonny's mind with Pete's.
I'm thinking to help make the ending a bit less bittersweet, we involve Nina in this. Sonny finds her and recruits her to have her alter Soulkiller so that it can remove Pete but leave Sonny's body intact enough so that he won't die when it's done. ...Honestly, it's better than either killing Sonny or straight-up cutting his lifespan in half.
Also, obviously, Usnavi gets involved in this later because Sonny doesn't go home for a good while, and when Usnavi finally tracks him down or Sonny finally goes home, it's just a big emotional trainwreck, with Sonny telling Usnavi about what's happened to him, what MIGHT happen to him, and their plan to fix this. SO MANY TEARS AND FEELS. Usnavi would probably stay behind when the attack on Arasaka goes down (this man is NOT a fighter), so all he can do is wait and hope and pray that his baby cousin will walk out of that building when it's all over.

Alright, I'm procrastinating, have this submission for the OC dating thing:
Flynn, they/them pronouns, early twenties.
They grew up at court with their older sister, their father being the chief of guards and the king's personal bodyguard so they had a certain social standing and education although they weren't allowed to mingle with the nobility.
But when they were a teenager their father gave his life for the king, protecting him from an assassination attempt, and Flynn has not gotten over it. They ran away from home and while their sister trained to follow in their father's footsteps protecting the royal family, Flynn went and joined a group of (robbers) revolutionaries planning to overthrow the monarchy and establish a republic.
They're very angry, very pretty, and very slutty, using their androgynous appearance to seduce men and women alike, and may or may not have assassinated one or the other noblemen in the process. They have a specific brand of daddy issues and incredibly conflicted feelings for their sister - who they love dearly but who is devoting her life to protecting the royalty Flynn has grown to despise.
They'd probably take your OC on a date to the carnival to eat sweets, pick pockets, and dance the night away.
Heh, what else would I be doing this for if not to procrastinate?
Also, wow, speak of two peas in a pod; Flynn gets the first person I thought of when I read this because the two of them will just go so nicely together, but they'll have to live with it being a polyamorous relationship because Amarzir is really hung-up on that city guard Daniechin. Amarzir is in his mid- to late twenties, he/him pronouns, also very pretty and has approached the same job spectrum as Flynn, just from the other side because he's worked his way up from slavery (namely, arena fighter). He is mainly a well-paid assassin with pick-pocketing just a hobby on the side, although he has an unexpectedly iron set of morals and might not have killed as many people as he likes to brag with (although he still got paid for those he didn't kill. No, we're not uncovering trade secrets here). And there's Dani, his overly correct city guard because of course Amarzir as a prime criminal has a thing for the police - and I imagine he and Flynn would have a blast getting on Dani's nerves whose relationship with the former has grown from an unstable alliance in times of political turmoil in their city. Amarzir hasn't had much in the way of an education; most of what he can do is self-taught, and he'd be interested in Flynn sharing their knowledge of reading...?
Thing is, he's also a slut with anger issues and a long line of seductions in his wake, and if Flynn thinks they could scare him off with a comment like, "I stabbed my last lover mid-coitus", then Amarzir would just go: "Dude! Me too!" It'd be a mess, really, but it'd be fun to watch. Taking bets now on how long they need to set the royal palace on fire while Daniechin facepalms at their combined emotional issues and tries to convince them that spilled blood won't overwrite an entire society because that has literally never worked before. Amarzir doesn't have familial issues because he doesn't have a family, but he kind of had a harsh fall-out with his faith and is extremely derisive of priests these days - which means stealing, eating sweets and dancing on the carneval (preferably in a provocative enough way to make onlooking sophisticated society gasp in indignation) is totally up his line.
As for Dani, he will try to rein in the chaos. He won't succeed. He will chew them both out, and then surrender to their combined charms. He's a good and loving guy, he's not even opposed to establishing a republic, just not a fan of murder and raging anarchy.

Last Resort - chapter 1
Fandom: The Maze Runner
Pairing: Thomas x Newt
Warnings: ex boyfriends, AU
Summary: Three years after breaking up with Thomas, Newt finally thought the past of hating each other was behind them, until Thomas asked him for a favour - pretend they got back together for a week while staying at his parents' home. Because it was an absolutely dumb idea, Newt was inclined to refuse, but then found himself in the house he used to visit when he was in love and happy and the bitter reality of only pretending for people he always liked made him miserable. But it was nothing against dealing with Thomas himself for a week straight and trying not to fall back in love that hurt them both.
Or: Prompt ch. 192 with added spice. Or something. I just needed to write for a while :')
Can be found on Ao3.
Notes:Â Hi! I was really into writing something, like really, really hyped, but then couldn't find anything that would make me go "yaaas!". So I thought of just giving up, until I somehow vaguely recalled I wrote this small one shot about two exes falling back in love in parents' house, and just sort of thought: oh yeah. Angst, good. Could add some horny. Good. Let's try. So here we are. Trying. It's not exactly deep or anything. I just needed to get this out of my system :') And it's not like I can't write anything else but AUs... ha.
Unbetad!
Sometimes Newt felt like the world was against him in literally any kind of situation. Once he decided to commit to something, a sudden force worked against him immediately, completely ruining the plan, or at least derailing his confidence in it. For about a year he thought that maybe it was the Universe giving him signs, for another year it felt like a karmic backslash and this year he settled on the fact he was just being despised by whatever higher force was in charge.
Although last year wasnât as bad, really, until November 12th on dot. If it was about to be documented anywhere, he was just getting out of his shower, quite sleepy already, in rather calm, peaceful mood, once his phone dinged with a new message and he, without knowing the consequences of reading it, opened it. Even though it had Thomas as a sender - he thought later it should have deterred him from ruining the night for himself. Yet, his stupid lizard brain just clicked on it, blissfully unaware.
ThomAss - [23:14] â This is a life-or-death matter, you HAVE TO help me out D:
Newt - [23:15] â HAVE TO even.
ThomAss - [23:16] â YES. Please. Iâm ready to beg too, thatâs how desperate I am!
Newt - [23:17] â Hmm. Tempting. On your knees?
ThomAss - [23:18] â Itâs negotiable.
Newt - [23:19] â Might think about it. Go on.
ThomAss - [23:20] â I need you to come home with me. I mean to my parentsâ home.
Newt - [23:21] â WhatâŚ?
ThomAss - [23:22] â Itâs an emergency. Theyâre being persistent, so I need to bring somebody over.
Newt - [23:24] â I donât follow?
ThomAss - [23:25] â Somebody Iâm dating, that is.
Newt - [23:26] â Yeah, no.
ThomAss - [23:27] â Pleaaaaaaaaaase! T^T
He refused to admit he was fuming when he tossed his phone on the mattress and ignored how it beeped several times with new messages. There was no bloody way heâd go all smiling into Thomasâ parentâs house and pretend they were dating when they broke up three years ago in bad blood and it took them over two years to recover enough to be able to at least talk in a civil way. Sure, these past few months were sort of⌠better than the rest, though Newt didnât really know if there was a reason, or they just let go of the grudge.
Well, partially let go, at least Newtâs was still lightly festering sometimes, on bad days when he was stupid enough to let his guard down and remind himself of it.
His phone beeped three more times and then the silence of his flat got sliced to pieces by the obnoxious ringtone he put in spite to Thomasâ contact two years ago. They werenât calling each other, so there was no way heâd hear it at any point back then, but now, when the sound filled his home, he had a fleeting thought of smashing the phone to pieces instead.
âI said no,â he answered anyway, cold enough for Thomas to definitely get shivers on the other side of the line.
âNewt, please, I beg you,â Thomas didnât even bother with greetings and whined like a five-year-old. âYou canât possibly be that cruel, can you?â
âMinho,â Newt gritted out. âWhy not him?â
âHeâs in England! Drinking tea! Heâd throw me off the Big Ben if I interrupted his super-secret-date-everybody-knows-about!â Thomas responded frantically and Newt pinched the bridge of his nose in exasperation.
Fine, he had a point, probably, Minho would rage at him if he tried to drag him back shit like this. He planned the totally-not-a-date for months, never introduced the person and then disappeared. Everyone knew why, but they didnât know to who.
âTeresa.â Another possibility, and Thomasâ groaned into the speaker.
Oh, so he already asked her, and she turned him down. Not to mentionâŚ
âBrenda?â
Another groan.
âFor fuckâs sake,â Newt had to force himself not to throw the phone against the wall. âHave you literally asked everyone and Iâm the bloody last resort?â
âSort of?â Thomas piped and Newt refused to acknowledge how it stung weirdly.
Am I being hypocritical?
It wasnât like he was willing to go anyway, but somehow his pride didnât like it. And his pride was a bitch, he knew, and had the power to overwrite his common sense.
âLook, itâs justâŚâ Thomas sighed into the phone. ââŚembarrassing.â
âEmbarrassing?â the blond repeated. He would say uncomfortable maybe, but embarrassing? âWhat is bloody embarrassing about it? Iâve heard you snore and fart and throw up and come, and you think this is embarrassing?â
âThis is embarrassing!â Thomas whined like couldnât hear the naked truth and Newt shook his head. They had their history, and it wasnât just a week short fling. They lived together for three years and dated for seven, there honestly couldnât be much of an embarrassment present anymore.
Although maybe yes, after three years of barely talking.
âYouâre ridiculous,â he mumbled after, dropping a towel he was drying his hair with on the bed. âHowâs this even a question, can you just tell them youâre single? Or. I donât know, that the person you date had other business to attend to?â
âNo,â Thomas answered immediately. âI canât and I wonât. You act like you donât know them, theyâre onto me.â
âCuz youâre a liar?â Newt tilted his head to the side and Thomas grumbled.
âAm not, okay.â
âSo whereâs your significant other that canât attend?â
âOn the phone right now, being difficult. Obviously,â Thomas delivered without ounce of shame and if he was standing right in front of Newt, he would have one in his face. âLook, I didnât want to ask you, cuz of course itâs kinda weird, since my parents already know you and all.â
Of course he would rather bring Teresa or Brenda over, Newt thought and the bitterness surprised him.
âWell, at least they wouldnât be as shocked,â he said in response, pushing the wave of reminiscing back down. âImagine Minho, he would probably tear the place apart.â
âYeah, but we didnât break up with Minho,â Thomas reminded him, keeping the sombre tone despite Newt trying to lighten the situation.
âYou donât say,â he said instead. âAnd?â
âAnd they know we did,â Thomas continued. âSo itâs gonna be awkward, you know.â
âCan imagine, yes,â Newt didnât want to play dumb. âI already told you no though, so thereâs no reason to torture yourself with the what if.â
âWhen did I ever want anything this important from you though!â The whine was back, and Newt sucked in a sharp breath.
âYou want me to make you a list? Or would a text suffice.â
âI told you Iâd beg on my knees, right? I will. Iâm ready to go to your place right now and kneel for the whole night if thatâd please you,â Thomas shot back, sounding too serious for Newtâs liking. His neighbours would hate him if Thomas spent the night in front of his door on his knees, serenading him just to make him cave in.
âFor fuckâs sake, for how long am I going to be pretending I love your stupid face again then?â he growled unhappily and Thomas on the other side let out a small laugh.
âWell, mum said a weeklong vacation, but Iâm sure like three days would be enough to sate her craving for whatever she actually craves when she forces me to do this,â he dropped like a week wasnât a death sentence or could pose an actual problem with Newtâs remaining vacation days. Which was not. But Thomas didnât know that.
âI know you have vacation days left, since you always hoard them,â Thomas immediately added like he could read his mind and Newt couldnât stop the curse leaving his mouth. âItâs not so bad, right? Countryside, fresh air, great food and for free.â
âFor the cost of my sanity, but sure, for free,â Newt grumbled and padded to the table to boot up his notebook. âWhen?â
âIâd pick you up on this Friday at 3? Work or home, your pick.â There was an obvious relief in Thomasâ voice and Newt kind of wanted to remind him they still broke up and barely talked to each other for two and half years, so it was not going to be a walk in a park at any point, but he kept his mouth shut.
âI work till 4,â he uttered while opening his e-mail and started to write a request for vacation. âSo something past 4 in front of my workplace should be fine.â
âFour? Since when?â came a question and Newt rolled his eyes. âIt used to be 3 max.â
âThree years ago, sure,â Newt decided to overlook Thomasâ weird habit of keeping shit like this memorized. âThings changed.â
âYou work longer for the same pay?â Thomas guessed and Newt scoffed.
âIâm not an idiot, okay,â he commented sternly. âI got promoted. So I go to work a bit later, but work till later too.â
âAaah,â Thomas voiced. âThatâs pretty cool. Congratz.â
Year and half late, but I guess itâs the thought that counts. He just hummed.
âThen four it is,â Thomas got back on track easily. âThanks, Newt. Youâre a lifesaver.â
âYou donât know what it will cost ya yet, donât be so happy about it,â Newt said grumpily. âI donât work for free.â
âHowâs pleasant company and free accommodation and full inclusive not enough for you? You spoiled little bitch,â Thomas faked an offended tone and Newt rolled his eyes.
âPleasant company is questionable, since youâre going to be there,â he shot back, more out of habit than with an actual spiteful intent. âBut I guess your family will do.â
âOof, alright,â it didnât take anything from the cheerful tone of his, âyou can send me a bill after. Fucking high maintenance as always, arenât you.â
âI have no idea what youâre talking about,â Newt chirped and hung up. The moment he sent the mail to his boss he immediately regretted it.
***
Friday came so fast Newt barely noticed the week whooshing past him, and suddenly it was 3:50, he was basically done with his workload for the day, his weeklong vacation got a green light and a bag with his things was sitting mockingly on his table, reminding him he was an idiot who just liked to make himself miserable.
Thomas was already texting him since morning to not forget to pack undies like he was a mastermind of great humour and Newtâs eyes lingered a bit too long on a kitchen knife when he was packing yesterday.
But then again, Thomasâ mum definitely had much better cutlery, so the variety of murder weapons just multiplied.
He pointedly ignored how his stomach lurched at the sight of Thomas at his car in casual clothes and unzipped jacket like it was spring (the -4 degrees disagreed with him, and especially with Newtâs complete lack of proper thermoregulation), actually having a pleasant expression on his face Newt last seen⌠well, long time ago. He took Newtâs bag and put it in the boot of the car with such nonchalance Newt almost believed his parents might be tricked into thinking they really got back together, how smooth and easy he made it look. Newt refused to ruin it with sarcasm, so he just got into the passenger seat and let Thomas get them on the road.
âYou know Christmas is still a month away, right?â Thomas commented once Newt got rid of his coat and scarf, since the car was warm inside, and tossed it onto the back seat, before putting on the seatbelt.
âYeah?â he raised an eyebrow at him and didnât like the smile Thomas had on his lips. He was going to nag, for sure.
âJust that youâre wrapped like a present,â came an expected comeback. âHow many layers you even have? You took all of your winter clothes on?â
âStuff it,â the blond glared at him. âItâs cold outside.â
âItâs not that cold though?â Of course Thomas wouldnât let it go.
âJust cuz you circulate lava and not blood doesnât mean others do too,â Newtâs glare intensified. âLike itâs something bloody new Iâm cold as fuck all the time.â
âYeah, itâs really not,â his companion shrugged with self-satisfied smirk and Newt wanted to stomp on the brake and just get out of the car. Why did he agree again?
Prick.
What even made him so happy? Still didnât realize how many faked smiles heâs going plaster on his face through the stay? Or he didnât care?
âWhat are we going to tell them?â he asked instead to bring them closer to the problem, since the resolution was only three hoursâ drive away. He wouldnât admit it, but since he agreed to help with this clownery, he couldnât stop thinking about what to tell the people he genuinely liked and didnât want to lie to. He could almost forget how rare it was to stay alone with Thomas these days â or months â or years â without an urge to strangle the brunet every time he got close and opened his mouth, when they were sitting in the car so peacefully now.
It was calm but utterly bitter.
The bitterness, Newt thought, was probably still the remnant from three years ago. Maybe not as vicious, but still accompanying him after all these years, every time they saw each other. The first year was catastrophic, the second they both calmed down a bit, and the third they actually managed to lead a normal, reasonable conversation with minimum insults.
Newt wasnât shy to admit he missed his ex during quiet moments of his life; somehow. He was especially prone to it during his birthday, somehow spending the passing years without Thomasâ company hurt, despite the bad parting. Talking with Thomas with more ease was nostalgic. But his brain always helpfully supplied it was not going to last because they were still the stupid, broken up them deep down.
Not to mention pretending to be lovers just to get Thomasâ parents off his back was lame as fuck. He had no idea why he agreed. Maybe he was lame too.
âI donât know. We bumped into each other on a party and made out in a closet,â Thomas responded, the smile finally falling off, his eyes glued to the road before him. âAnd decided to try it again.â
âUgh.â
âWhat, you have a better idea?â Thomas shot him a look and Newt snorted.
âWe managed to talk normally again and realized weâre still in love with each other?â he offered, just to piss him off. âSince, you know, it happens to normal people?â
âWhat, sex in the closet does not?â There was that annoyance in Thomasâ voice again Newt knew so well. They usually talked to each other like that â annoyed, nagging, angry, and it wasnât hard to fall back into it.
âProbably to you,â he averted his eyes from his companion and watched the passing scenery instead. âBut Iâm not that easy.â
âThatâs true,â he heard Thomas whisper, more to himself, and rather buried himself lower into the seat. The fact their intimate life sucked the last month they were together hadnât been a secret and Newt was very much aware it just sped up the fall of their relationship. But at that point it all felt wrong, and the last thing Newt had wanted was having angry sex, or sex out of obligation, or basically anything intimate without enjoying the other personâs company. Because they sure werenât enjoying each other for some time already.
Thomas didnât like it. And he was pretty open about not liking it. But then again, so was Newt.
And then they broke up. It was outside during Christmas, under the lit-up tree on the city square, and Newt still considered it the most unpleasant memory of his life. They were furious, both of them, and the breakup was inevitable, but when it finally came, it wasnât an explosion full of shouting or accusing as he expected.
Nope, it was quiet, cold and devastating. Seven years down the drain, just like that.
âLetâs go with your version,â he heard Thomas saying roughly. âIt happens.â
âYeah,â he piped, closing his eyes.
In fairy tales.
***
âOh my god, I knew it!â
It was the first thing that hit them both when the door to the house opened and Thomasâ mother ran out, shrieking like a siren while going straight to Newt and almost suffocated him in an embrace. âI knew you two would get back together, I knew it!â
âThere goes the surprise,â Newt managed from the rest of his breath and when she finally released him just to run back to the house to tell the rest of the family the big news, he gasped like he was drowning.
âGood to know sheâs as strong as ever,â he croaked, and Thomas hummed and took both of their bags to carry it inside. He had gotten visibly darker and grumpier the closer they got to his hometown and now he almost visibly carried a dark, raining cloud above his head, looking like he just arrived at his own funeral.
Newt followed him inside with surprising ease though, like returning to this place somewhat negated everything Thomas tried to spoil. He had only nice, pleasant memories of this house, and those people, so even if Thomas ought to be a dickhead, he could always enjoy himself here.
âNewt!â a roaring voice welcomed him next, and another crushing hug lifted him from the floor. Thomasâ father was a big, broad guy who could probably lift the house itself, and his jolly personality apparently remained untouched as well.
âHi there,â the blond greeted him right the moment he got back to the ground, trying to withstand the bear pat that followed. âHavenât seen you in forever.â
âLikewise!â the big guy cheerily replied. âGlad to see he came back to his senses! Was seriously afraid heâd bring that gloomy goth girl here, I donât think we have enough black around for that.â
Teresa or Brenda.
âNah, he still has a thing for blonds,â he replied with a smile and immediately heard Thomasâ scoffing from the living room. The fact that both Teresa and Brenda turned him down must have scarred his ego a lot.
The jab was worth it though.
***
âIâm so glad youâre here,â Anna (Thomasâ mum) patted his arm for about fourth time already since they arrived, her face fond and eyes happy, and it made Newt guilty as hell. They all gathered in the kitchen, which smelled like fantastic food and happy memories. âI swear the breakup was so shocking, we didnât want to believe it. Tom took it so badly too, I-,â
âMum,â Thomasâ voice sounded threatening from behind them. âStop feeding him useless stuff. He just got off work and spent three hours in the car, let him breathe a little.â
She made a face at him but sent Newt an apologetic smile and gave him a muffin. Still tasted as he remembered, and he had to admit those small welcoming bits were the only brakes he had from running away. It wasnât like Thomas was nasty towards him or anything â he wouldnât dare since theyâd call him out on it â but since they had the talk in the car Newt could feel the uncomfortable tension between them that always ended in an argument.
âYou want coffee?â Newt realized Thomas was looking at him now, eyebrows raised, and he just nodded, not trusting himself to say anything.
âIâll bring it to you, you can go sit with others,â Thomas added as if he couldnât get rid of him fast enough and Newt didnât argue with that logic. The moment he left the kitchen and sat between Thomasâ dad and sister, relief washed over him, and he could finally breathe a little easier.
âI thought youâd already be married to somebody decent,â Hannah (Thomasâ little sister) commented while she plastered herself against Newtâs side like she used to do when she was little. Newt havenât seen her for about four years, give or take, and now she was 14 and apparently full of opinions. âAnd not wasting your time with him again.â
Him, pointedly looking at her brother who was sneering at her while entering the living room with Newtâs coffee, was seemingly normal occurrence lately, judging from zero reactions from the parents.
âI know, Iâll never learn,â Newt piped in anyway, which made Thomas sneer at him for a change, and almost spilling the coffee on him, not even trying to mask it as an accident.
âDo I have to be the target of your bad jokes?â he glared at them collectively and when Anna arrived after him with dinner, Newt felt nostalgic, like literally nothing changed, and he relaxed into it with more ease than he expected.
He was just glad Thomas was sitting further from him and didnât need to force himself to act natural. When he reached for the coffee, his favourite taste of it surprised him, but he didnât meet Thomasâ eyes.
***
âI have to say, you got even cuter,â Anna suddenly said once they were past dinner, Newt couldnât eat or drink anymore or he would explode and decided to walk it out while helping her bringing dishes to the kitchen and putting them in a dishwasher.
âAnna,â he chuckled. âThatâs not what a guy wants to hear.â
âIâm just saying,â she had a genuine smile on her face. âI feared Iâd never get to see you here ever again. I know you donât really want to talk about the breakup and allâŚâ
She stopped for a second, her eyes searching, and Newt hated how strangely painful it made him feel. He sincerely hoped it didnât show on his face.
âI just want you to know Iâm happy you two got back together,â she concluded, which meant it definitely showed on Newtâs face and she saw it. âI know you must have your reasons back then and everything, but Iâm just⌠so glad for you two. And I wish youâd visit more often as well.â
Newtâs chest tightened like he was about to have a heart-attack and he had to push the guilt back down with the power of his sheer will alone, right in front of her trusting, hopeful eyes, like he was disarming a ticking bomb with 10 seconds on the countdown. He expected maybe some initial awkwardness, or some of them poke fun at how they finally got their shit back together after three years, but this wasnât the plan and he hated how he wanted to hide behind Thomasâ back and just push him to deal with this instead.
âYeah,â he gulped down the rising agony. âWe absolutely should.â
Liar.
âYou were always such a great kid,â she pushed herself from the kitchen counter and pulled him into a tight, heartfelt hug. Tears almost spilled out of Newtâs eyes when she squeezed him with loving gentleness he didnât want to feel again to know what he was missing. âWe all love you so much. Thank you for coming back.â
He couldnât stop the guilt anymore and quietly wept into her shoulder, praying to any higher power for her not to notice.
***
It wasnât an escape. He did not run away like a coward the moment he could. He didnât light up his cigarette outside on a porch with trembling hands because he couldnât get his nerves under control. It just happened. He just felt like it. He just needed the fresh air, nothing else.
He thought, maybe if he kept telling himself that, the tears would eventually stop and he wouldnât be sniffling anymore into the night, with sky sprinkled with stars and air cold enough to make his face feel like ice.
He heard the door opening only vaguely, his eyes stinging, until the automatic light flashed above him, signalizing a movement nearby. He noticed Thomas too late, he realized when he started pathetically wiping away tears into his sleeve.
âYou okay?â Thomas asked a bit abundantly, seeing the state of his, but Newt had to admit there werenât many other questions to ask anyway.
âYeah,â Newt sniffled, trying to get his feelings under control, but failing miserably. âSorry⌠just. Give me a few, Iâll be fine.â
Thomas took a step closer, and Newt hated how he flinched at that.
âMum told you something?â
He had an unreadable face, Newt thought. Neutral and careful and Newt couldnât say what he was thinking. He hated how the ability of reading this man just disappeared like the rest of their history.
âNothing bad,â he shook his head and brought the cigarette to his lips, inhaling shortly. His hands still trembled but not as badly anymore. âAre they worried?â
âNot yet, I think,â Thomas replied quietly, glancing towards the door, then sighed. âI guess itâs⌠kind of painful.â
âKind of,â Newt agreed softly. âBut it reminds me how nice it was when it lasted.â
âYeah,â Thomas finally glanced at him, his eyes a bit warmer. âIt was amazing.â
Newt felt a lump in his throat forming, and the more Thomas was looking at him, the worse it got, until he couldnât really stand it. So he offered a small, apologetic smile, put the cigarette out and returned back to the house with buzzing in his head and weird pressure in his chest.
The mischievous grins Thomasâ family gave him once he reappeared in the living room never felt so wrong.
***
Newt didnât really plan on it, but since the night progressed and his company slowly started leaving for the night, he eventually fell asleep on the couch in the living room. He thought he heard somebody trying to wake him while softly saying his name, but he was too exhausted to rise to the challenge and just let his eyes close shut.
The last thing he noticed was sudden warmth engulfing him, like being hugged by a fluffy animal and then he was out like a light.
He dreamed of first loves and heartbreaks.
***
âYouâre being 17 only once in your life, man, cheer up a little!â
Newt grumpily looked at the shot he was given with liquid of unknown origin and then back at Minho, who was grinning at him encouragingly, already drunk enough to be considered not the most reliable source of what fun is. Newt couldnât say he liked the taste of any alcohol he tried so far, and even though Minho made it look like itâs the most delicious thing he ever had, every cup tasted like spirit and burned unpleasantly.
Sure, he was 17 today. Sure, he tried alcohol because everybody did to celebrate, but every time they looked away, he just poured the rest of his cup into something that could hold it (the cactus probably wasnât happy about it and Newt mentally apologized to the plant when he disposed of the rest of his beer in its pot).
âLemme take that from you,â a sudden movement on his side caused the small glass to be taken from his hand, and then a brown-haired boy downed the drink like it was water. Newt had no idea who he was, but since he saved him from possible vomit-inducing moments, he immediately liked him.
âMy saviour,â he grinned once the boy tossed the empty glass back to Minho who barely caught it. The boy smiled back at him, his big, brown eyes warm and honestly really pretty.
âThomas,â he introduced himself. âI take it youâre the birthday boy. Newt, right?â
âRight,â the blond nodded in agreement. âYou here with Ben?â
It was just a guess, but he vaguely remembered Ben mentioned something about bringing friends over and Newt didnât mind. The more people present, the easier would it be for him to disappear at some point to avoid being cornered with other alcoholic beverages.
âYep,â Thomas nodded with a cute smile. Newt wondered if he was already at least a little drunk to be so easily charmed. âI know I should have brought a gift, since itâs your b-day and all, but I kinda came empty handed. Sorry about that.â
âPreposterous,â Newt faked a shock, hand on his chest and laughter bubbling in his throat, but Thomas was already fishing through his pockets as if he was searching for something to give, and that made him laugh for real. âItâs fine, Tommy. You saved me from alcohol poisoning, you have a free pass.â
âThatâs lame though,â Thomas objected unhappily and then finally found his phone in his back pocket, looking at Newt expectantly. âCan I at least get your number? I swear I will make it up to you.â
Normally Newt would argue he didnât need anything, for real, donât sweat it, but the more he was looking into Thomasâ eyes, the more his common sense refused to work, and caving in was so, so easy.
âSweet,â Thomas smiled happily when he saved the contact and then slung his arm around Newtâs shoulders, leaned close and took a quick photo of them both on his phone. âYou wonât regret it.â
âI know I wonât,â Newt said, and he meant it.
***
He woke up with his head painfully pounding, like he slept too long or too short. In a moment of confusion of his whereabouts one glance across the empty but messy living room from yesterdayâs festivities gave him the answer he sought â he was in hell and it smelled like pancakes.
He gingerly sat up, analysing the situation carefully, until his eyes stopped at the clock showing 12:04 and Newt refused to believe them. He couldnât have possibly slept till noon, right? Thomas was playing a prank at him by rewinding the clock or something, there was simply no way. He usually woke up at 7, if he really had a deficit then 9 the latest and felt guilty about it. Twelve sounded like a bad joke.
Then again, his body was so sore it made sense. He had a crick in his neck, his legs felt wooden and stiff and there were creases from the couch everywhere on his naked skin. He had a soft, fluffy blanket draped around his body he didnât remember even seeing yesterday but was grateful for anyway.
âFuck,â he breathed out in mortification. âWhat am I even doing?â
âHaving a zombie march, Iâd say,â a voice interrupted his inner freak out mercilessly and he turned around too fast for his poor head to comprehend and world spun for a moment. âThought you died or something, geez. Since when you sleep so long?â
Thomas was slowly walking towards him with a tray, trying to balance the cups with coffee on it, and once he successfully set it down, there was only a small puddle under one, so still a success. He brought pancakes and muffins Anna baked and Newt didnât feel like his appetite was up to this.
âI dunno,â the blond rubbed his eyes sleepily. âI guess I wasnât really sleeping as much these past few daysâŚâ
âYour back must hate you though,â Thomas glanced at the sofa pointedly. âOnly sitting for too long on this torture device is painful.â
âEh,â Newt shrugged. âIâve had worse.â
âWell, you look like shit, so not much worse,â Thomas didnât spare him, smirking at Newtâs apparently dishevelled appearance and he just flipped him off.
âHave a pancake, youâll feel better,â Thomas pushed the tray closer.
âMaybe later,â Newt untangled himself from the blanked instead. âI need a bath.â
âCanât argue with that.â
Newt mentally slapped Thomas so hard his face landed in the pancake cushion. In reality he just scoffed and wobbled out of the living room at the sound of his exâ snickering.
***
Nobody really commented on Newtâs faux pas of passing out on the couch until it was time for lunch, but they did comment on his food habits (or better on having none). He barely ever ate breakfast in the morning, so he didnât eat the fluffy pancakes, or the muffins Thomas brought him, but he did drink the coffee. Before he could even properly digest that Anna was already serving lunch and he had no way how to wiggle himself out of that one.
The rest of the day passed like a blur and when the evening came Anna was chasing him to the bed the first moment he yawned.
âYouâre not going to ruin your back on this monstrosity!â she was pushing him up the stairs with Thomas behind her, laughing at them. âI donât understand how we didnât buy a new one yet, but now we have to, or youâd wreck yourself on it!â
âIt wasnât that bad,â Newt tried to argue, but she was having none of it and finally stopped in front of Thomasâ room, which⌠was an obvious choice, but Newt felt his blood running cold at the sight of the familiar area.
âI prepared clean towels and everything,â she pointed at a fluffy pile on Thomasâ desk. âGood night!â
âYeahâŚâ the blond barely got that out and she was already leaving, calling to others downstairs to help her choose a new couch so she could immediately order it online.
âWell, at least weâll get rid of that relic,â Thomas commented while entering the bedroom as well, all smiles like he didnât realize there was one bed, them broken up and Newtâs absolute horror.
âWeâre not sleeping in the same bed, are we,â Newt ignored him with eyes fixed at the lodging in the room and Thomas crossed his arms on his chest, his lips in a wide grin.
âWhat, I clearly remember you saying there is nothing embarrassing about me anymore, since you heard me fart and all.â
âOh god, shut up,â Newt wished his words were a spell and came true, but of course they didnât work on Thomas, since he started laughing like a hyena. Anna naturally would let them both sleep in Thomasâ room, it was an obvious choice, but he sure hated it.
Thomasâ room was the same as Newt remembered it, but it made sense, since Thomas had his own place in the city for years. His family had no reason to change it, let it be the queen-sized bed, the blue-ish walls and sleek black furniture hugging the place. It had no sofa, which was the core of the problem for one of them and Newtâs regret of saying yes returned in full force.
âItâs not like itâs a small bed,â Thomas commented matter-of-factly once he had his fill of fun and sat at the edge of the incriminated furniture, obviously taunting him.
âItâs not like I care,â Newt bit out and circled the bed in disdain. âSleep on the floor for what I care.â
âBut itâs my bed,â Thomas argued with badly concealed glee. Newt guessed it was because now he could make fun of him now, which must have made him feel good after being a target of little quips from his family for two days. âIf you donât like me in it, you go sleep on the floor.â
âIâm a guest in here,â Newt crossed his arms on his chest. âDonât you have any manners? Not to mention you owe me for coming here and playing your lying game.â
âIt has nothing to do with manners or me owing you, youâre just being a stubborn ass as always,â Thomas corrected him and clearly didnât feel like being merciful, especially when he just flopped onto the mattress and looked at Newt expectantly. âSo, letâs calm down and get some sleep. I promise I wonât attack you until youâre awake again.â
âShut up, jerk face,â Newt barked at him and grabbed the towel Anna left there, turning to leave for the bathroom, definitely not running away. âAs if Iâd bloody let you.â
âMhmmm.â Thomasâ face was grinning, and Newt wanted to set his guts on fire.
Goddamn, fuck this all.
***
Of course Thomas already laid under the covers, one arm under his head, other holding his phone and leisurely scrolling through it. The room was bathing in darkness, outside of the small lamp on the bedside table. Newt still remember that lamp from years ago, and how they almost broke it when Newt accidentally knocked it over when they were having sex⌠here⌠okay, that particular memory really didnât need to resurface right now.
âI know right,â Thomas suddenly spoke, looking at Newt pointedly. âI was surprised that thing still works too. Got banged so badly.â
âHmmâŚâ
âNot the only thing that got banged though,â of course the fucker had to add, and Newt tossed his shirt he was holding at him. Only got small laugh in response and then his shirt got dropped carelessly on the floor, left crumpled there like trash. Newt wanted to kick Thomasâ ass so bad he almost reached for his whole bag to hit him with it.
âGoing to stand there whole night?â Thomas was acting smugly because he had an upper hand for now, the blond knew the tactics very well. Just milking the moment until one of them snap, he sure hadnât changed. Newt seriously considered to just leave and sleep in the car if he had to.
âAre you going to be this insufferable the whole week?â he seethed, and Thomas shrugged.
âDefine insufferable. Donât feel like I am any of that.â
âAlright, then Iâll leave tomorrow,â Newt countered him, because he was honestly too tired already and couldnât think of anything that would make Thomas to fall from his high horse for just one second. Or just show some understanding, because the moment they got in his room he made sure to make Newt as uncomfortable as possible. âYou can tell your parents whatever you want, I donât care.â
âAre you seriously throwing a tantrum over us sleeping in one bed?â Thomas sat up while putting his phone away and he had this old Star Wars shirt Newt got him for his 20th birthday and it was like a punch in his gut.
âYes,â Newt just said and the warmth from the bath was slowly dissipating from his body, leaving him chilled and miserable.
âWe slept together for 7 years,â Thomas objected with a small frown. âItâs not like you donât know me. Or how I sleep.â
âItâs not like it matters in this situation.â
âI told you I wonât do anything,â another argument and Newt shook his head. He wasnât even worried he would try anything; they were way past that phase anyway. It was just⌠so uncomfortable. âJesus, Newt, please be reasonable. Itâs cold, youâre shivering like a wet dog over there, I have perfectly normal, warm bed and we wonât even be touching. I donât know what kind of block you have in your head, but can you just let it go for tonight and come here before you catch a cold and blame it on me too?â
âI-,â Newt couldnât even start when a soft knock stopped him mid speech and the door opened few seconds later with Anna between them, smiling. Probably chaperoning, he would guess if he had a coherent thought.
âJust wanted to ask if you want chicken or steak for tomorrow lunch,â she chirped and Newt could almost see the loading screen in front of his eyes, for how much he couldnât comprehend the sudden topic change.
âGo lie down, youâll freeze out here,â she immediately noticed him standing there barefooted and pushed him gently towards the bed. âDo you want another blanket? I know youâre always cold. Thomas brought the fluffy one downstairs yesterday, should I fetch it?â
âItâs fine, I have two in here already,â Thomas interjected immediately and before Newt could react anyhow, Thomas reached for his hand and pulled him onto the mattress. âWill warm him up if that wouldnât be enough.â
âJust try to be quiet, will you,â Anna seized them both in disapproving stare and Newt felt sick in his stomach. âSo what. Chicken or steak?â
âI vote for steaks!â Thomas immediately shot out and Newt still didnât understand what was even important about food in this situation, so he just nodded dumbly, and then Anna was leaving with good night and disappeared behind the door again, plunging the room into silence.
He could hear Thomasâ breathing close to his own and finally understood he lost this fight without much of a battle happening.
âCan we sleep now?â he heard Thomas ask, so he just slinked under covers and turned his back towards the man, feeling vulnerable and stupid at the same time.
***
They didnât talk about the night. They didnât really talk at all during the day, since when Newt woke up, Thomas was already gone, and Hannah mentioned something about him and his dad leaving early in the morning for whatever reason.
Newt hated how relieved he felt.
He spent most of the day with Anna making lunch and dodging questions about him and Thomasâ breakup and reconciliation. Anna didnât pry as much as he feared she would, but she obviously wanted to know what happened three years ago and he had no nice answer for her, so he just kept it vague.
We stopped talking to each other properly.
We felt like we needed a break.
No, there was no bad blood between us, really. Absolutely no arguments that would cut too deep, I assure you. We just needed some time. Weâre back together now after all, right.
The lies twisted so painfully on his tongue he was grateful when Thomas finally got back at 4PM and Annaâs attention turned to him instead. When the day progressed, Brian (Thomasâ dad) sat them all in the living room in the evening and opened his favourite bottle of whiskey he kept for special occasions.
They lit up fire in the fireplace and Anna brought over snacks, and just sitting there and chilling felt soothing to Newtâs guiltiness eating him up from within.
âWe just sealed the deal with a new partner today,â Brian said in a booming voice when he was pouring a glass to Newt who was sincerely relieved his special occasion wasnât Thomas and him dating again. Because that sure would send him out of the room quick, he could handle only that much before snapping.
âThatâs fantastic,â he gingerly accepted the glass and watched Thomas doing to same when offered, wondering if he could somehow dump his own drink into his glass without being suspicious. They sat too wide apart though, with Thomas between his parents and Newt felt the gap deeply.
âThatâs right! It means more work, but itâs going to be worth it!â Brian nodded happily and poured glass to Anna as well. When Hannah came with her own, he shooed at her to get juice instead, at which she pouted. âWe were dealing with them on and off for about a year, so when they agreed to be a permanent supplier, itâs gonna make a difference.â
âYou should invite the CEO for dinner,â Anna added to it and Brian immediately agreed. âBut for now, cheers!â
Newt smiled and raised his glass as well, but his throat already hated it in advance. Once he sipped the wood-scented drink, he forced himself to remain passive and not make a disgusted face that was forcing its way up, grateful Anna and Brian were too busy planning what food to choose for the business dinner.
âOh my god, can you stop shouting in my ear?â Thomas suddenly stood up when his dad leaned over him to his mum for umpteenth time. âGo sit next to her! Geez. Iâm not a cushion you can bulldozer over.â
Brian laughed and pushed himself towards his wife on Thomasâ spot, which left Thomas to sit next to Newt with an unceremonious plop.
âI thought maybe cream cake for dessert?â Anna was brainstorming loudly in meantime. âRight, Newt? You always liked the cake.â
âOh yeah, loved it,â Newt quickly switched his attention to her from Thomasâ sudden warmth next to him. âThink itâs a great idea for the dessert.â
âSee!â Anna beamed at Brian happily and Newt flinched when his glass got bumped suddenly and he almost dropped it before he realized it was Thomasâ own glass touching it now.
âPour some over,â he mumbled towards the blond quietly. âBefore they notice and start pestering you about quality of well-aged alcohol.â
âThanksâŚâ he piped gratefully and hastily splashed most of his glassâ contents away. He noticed Hannah was looking at them, but she only rolled her eyes and started arguing with the parents that beef was no better than pork for the main dish.
âSheâd drink it instead if she had a chance,â Thomas whispered towards him. âGoing to be a fucking alcoholic before she reaches twenty.â
âWerenât you the same though,â Newt objected automatically, and Thomas sipped his now almost full glass with a smirk.
âNever minded the taste, yeah,â he shrugged while licking his lips. Newt would believe from his expression the drink tasted good, if he didnât know better. âI still like beer more though. This can easily knock me out of my socks if Iâm not careful.â
âMm.â
âYou slept well?â
Newt stiffed at the question, as he expected he would if Thomas was going to breach it, and then forced his body to relax again while gripping his almost empty glass firmly.
âFine,â he only uttered.
âAre we going to have a problem again tonight then or is it fine?â he heard Thomas asking in low voice and refused to meet his eyes. The night was alright, he slept more or less okay too, but that didnât pose a problem in the first place, and Thomas knew it. Newt couldnât say if it was Thomasâ way of being petty or getting revenge, but it sure bothered Newt like a thorn in his side.
âCanât possibly kick you off, when your mum likes to check up on us,â he mumbled with a quick glance towards Anna, still in heated debate over food with the rest of the family. âSo letâs pretend itâs fine.â
âIâm not pretending anything,â Thomas scoffed. âI donât mind sharing a bed. Itâs not like youâre a stranger.â
âSure.â
âHmm,â Thomas let out and then moved again, lifting his legs and deposited them rudely on Newtâs lap while leaning against the side of his dad who barely even noticed.
âSure then,â he was grinning when Newt shot him a glare. âLove of my life.â
âI swear Iâll murder you,â Newt gritted through his teeth and refused to acknowledge how his heart thumped when Thomas smiled at him like he just said something overly sweet.
âLooking forward to it,â the brunet responded instead while sipping their shared drink and Newt twisted his big toe in revenge. Sadly, it didnât have much of an effect.
***
âWhat the fuck happened to you over those years, jesus fuck!â If anybody asked, Newt didnât sound like a naggy wife scolding her husband, no sir. âYou canât hold your liquor for shit!â
âWhaaa-,â Thomasâ attempt to sound offended interrupted a loud burp and then fit of laughter, all that when he was plastered over Newtâs back who was unceremoniously dragging him back to his room.
âIf you throw up over my back, youâre dead,â he warned the drunkard coldly and Thomas let out hehehe but didnât deny it. Newt suspected him he could walk just fine but wanted to be as obnoxious as possible, so Newt would have to take care of him in front of his amused parents who left them to it. Newt would be much happier if Thomasâ dad would toss his son to the bed one armed, because he definitely could, and wouldnât leave Newt to fight with the deadweight all alone, but then again maybe it was for the best.
True enough, Thomas had in total of four and half glasses full of whiskey, even though Brian laughed at him to get drunk after three shots. Naturally didnât know every time he poured Newt a fresh batch, even though Newt tried to tell him no thanks, he secretly dumped it into Thomasâ glass who drank it, just to get refilled from Brian again as well, and that went until the bottle was empty and Thomas started giggling.
Which led them to the situation at hand â with Newt dragging his ex up the stairs and to his room â their room â while swearing like a sailor, and then just dumping him onto the bed like a sack of potatoes where Thomas landed with soft oof.
âWhyâs the room spânningâŚ?â he heard the muffled question shortly after, looking at Thomasâ boneless form of a dead drunk with his face half buried in covers. âMake it stooop~.â
âYou feel like barfing?â he asked instead of reacting to the drunk observation and Thomas groaned, then tried to push himself up, just to fail miserably. He tried two more times until he realized he really couldnât get up because his arms wouldnât support him, and just had to worm his way up to the pillow by crawling. Which was almost painful to watch, honestly.
âNeeeewt.â
âOh for fuckâs sake,â the blond buried his face to his hands until another whine of his name came and he walked to the bed and pushed Thomas on his back instead. That got him a sloppy grin in return in a drunk haze.
âHi,â the drunkard slurred. âHowâre ya?â
âSucky,â Newt answered while crossing his arms on his chest.
âOh nooooâŚâ another whine. âWhyyy?â
âHave to take care of one smashed idiot,â Newt nudged Thomasâ side with his knee, earning another giggle. He couldnât say he had experience with drunk Thomas â or at least with this much drunk Thomas. If he ever got inebriated enough to be considered wasted, he just passed out, usually. But todayâs drunk Thomas sure had some annoying stamina and kept himself awake for too long.
âIâll protect you from âim,â Thomas managed to reach out with his hand, grabbing at Newtâs sweater. âCâme to the bed.â
âI think you need a bucket first,â Newt let him pawn his sweater with a sigh.
âMkay.â The hand on his sweater stayed, grabbing randomly, until it dropped to Newtâs thigh where it lightly squeezed, and Thomas let an appraising hum. âYou got thinner.â
âItâs just your imagination,â Newt pushed the hand away and it bounced back onto the mattress. âGet changed, Iâll be right back.â
âNoooâŚâ
He ignored the whine and left the bedroom with a lump in his throat. Drunk Thomas could be bad for his conscience.
***
He got back half an hour later, after a bath and finding a bucket he could deposit at the edge of the bed, in hope Thomas didnât manage to throw up in meantime. He found him sleeping sprawled over the mattress, right in the middle, still in the same clothes and smelling like a liquor store. There was no barf anywhere at least.
âSweet,â he sighed while putting the bucket near Thomasâ possible trajectory of his head if he felt like bending over and vomiting. âGlad we had this talk about sleeping together, huh.â
He slowly crawled onto the bed, careful not to wake Thomas up (though judging by his occasional snores it wasnât happening) and slid under the blanket as much as Thomasâ weight allowed him.
In hindsight⌠there was no way he could be mad at him anyway, for today. No matter how drunk the man got, he still remembered how Newt didnât like alcohol and Newt hated how it warmed his jaded heart.
He fell asleep eventually, dreaming of grabby hands and sad smiles.
***
âYour mum is going to hear us, you ass!â
âDonât care.â
âTommy!â
No response, only hot lips on his neck, licking and biting and pampering it with kisses and Newt just remained pinned against the door of Thomasâ room, taking the weight of his boyfriend against his body and roaming hands grabbing at his butt and then traveling to his thigh, hiking it up to settle against Thomasâs hip. His heart was beating so loud he couldnât hear anything else, just thump thump thump of his blood roaring, and Thomasâs sweet nothings he was murmuring to Newtâs ear in a rough voice.
âI want you so much,â Thomas whispered when unbuckling Newtâs pants, sliding his hand under them against hot, naked skin, and Newt couldnât hold back a moan, he just needed him closer, he needed to kiss him, to touch him, to get him inside-
âFuck, youâre so hot,â Thomas bit out, voice strained, and Newt let him to lift him up and carry him towards the bed, their lips meeting in a messy, frantic kiss. It was painful, it was rushed, but it was what Newt needed, the brutal strength of Thomasâ body pushing into him and his own breathy moans coming out when their lips parted, and he heard a dull thud at some point when he was trying to hold onto the bedpost once Thomas thrusted into him so strong it made him see stars, but he didnât care about anything else but pleasure and pain and adoration he felt when he was with him-
Newt woke up with a start, his body hot and aroused, and he felt on fire and caged and painfully hard. He could barely catch a breath when he noticed arms slung possessively around his torso and waist pushing him insistently against warm body behind him, waking up all his senses one by one like Christmas lights.
It took him a moment, the initial confusion clearing like a fog from his mind, making him realize Thomas was cuddling him from behind, one of his hands got under Newtâs shirt and was spread across his naked belly possessively.
âShit,â he couldnât stop himself from cursing and attempted to disentangle, but it only made Thomas to clutch to him harder, like a defence mechanism, unwilling to let go. He tried to push away one of the arms holding him, but Thomas slung a leg over his hips in response, trapping him even more.
âDonât leave,â a sleepy voice sliced the silence and Newt stiffened once he felt hot lips on the back of his neck, mouthing there persistently.
âThomas-.â He tried to turn around but couldnât move an inch and Thomas bit down slightly, sending shivers down Newtâs spine.
âMmmâŚâ he heard the hum, and then the tense weight relaxed once Thomas fell asleep again, and Newt didnât dare to move anymore.
It was going to be a long night and Newt refused to acknowledge the little voice in the back of his head screaming for relief by Thomasâ hand.

âApparently,â Ryan said to the camera. TJ, one hand on the side of the lens, smirked, and Ryan quickly continued with, ânow, we may not have any actual couples on Unsolved, but we figured the ghosts wonât be able to tell the difference if there are two people sleeping here.â
âYeah, if ghosts want to kill someone, theyâre probably not looking at the fine print to decide what kind of couple their victims are,â Shane said. âBecause we are, obviously, a couple.â

Dusk (Fresh Precure one-shot fanfiction)
Summary: We meet in between.
Character focus: Love M., Setsuna H.Â
Word count: 773
*This fic is also on FF.net, Quotev and AO3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: This story is mildly inspired by the song Yoru ni Kakeru (ĺ¤ăŤé§ăă). I drastically changed the worldview to fit Love and Setsuna but since I translated some lyrics and put them in here, I have to credit the song. (Itâs a nice song, I especially recommend the First Take version)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ đ¤Â ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hate it.Â
I hate it when you look at me, when you seem to see something â someone that has never been there. Beyond every confinement I have ever been put through, I feel the most caged when I see myself in your eyes.Â
Caged by your carefree hope, caged by your hypocritical beliefs, caged by the so-called happiness you wished for me because you never understood how much that kind of warmth scorches me.Â
I hate it when I see nothing but you, when I canât tear my eyes off of that radiance even when it burns.Â
But this coldness, this never-dawning night you picture is everything to me. Itâs my home. Itâs my cradle. And you are always eating away at it with that sickening âwarmthâ of yours.Â
Iâve had enough. Iâm tired of this.
No more pretence. It hurts. More than the magic, more than the thorns, you hurt me the most.Â
I am the bad guy. I am Eas. I am from Labyrinth. And I hate you. I hate how you smile, I hate how you have hope, have faith. I hate the happiness you exude. They are all supposed to be non-existent until you forcefully shoved them down my throat so all the words I prepared for you never reached your ears.Â
I want it all to end already.Â
You will never understand, Love. You never intended to and will never be able to.Â
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ đ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You didnât even leave behind a single âgoodbyeâ, how could you expect me to understandâ
âwas what I wouldâve yelled when I was in denial.Â
But you deserve better than that.Â
Iâve always believed that we would come to an understanding. You and me, and somewhat the other you as well, even before I knew the connection. And what better instance than now? Now when time is scarce, now when your dusk is nearing its end, now when there is no choice but to come to terms with the depths of your heart.Â
I see you there in the rain. There is no strength in your posture despite the force in the punches you throw, itâs as if you were sinking, melting. What exactly, I wonder, am I seeing in your gaze?Â
From the day I met you, I noticed those cold eyes of yours. Even when you seemed happy, seemed to enjoy yourself, your eyes were never truly smiling, there was such a tainted mist of emptiness shrouding every truth.Â
I clung to you since then. Because you made me wish for the best future I could imagine for you.Â
Something sparked in those eyes of yours as you screamed out the rawest emotion in the heart you tried to cage, something beyond the mist. But something short-lived. Like the wish I made for you.Â
After all, in your world, the ticking of a clock resound in your ears with every decision you make. And in my world, I took the liberty to assume happiness can be âgetâ from the time we spend together.Â
When worlds like ours collide, who needs a proper âgoodbyeâ? Itâs duty. Itâs life. Itâs death. Words⌠such a peaceful resolution, itâs almost disrespectful to your determination.Â
See? I understand. Setsuna.Â
Now how about you understand me?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ đ¤Â ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No. No more. Stop trying to pull me further into your world. Â
Your words change me. Your words steal from me my loyalty, my will and even my heart. Because I am a flawed creation, a weak, worthless defect.Â
Defects must be dealt with, erased.Â
So please stop. Stop changing me. If you keep overwriting what Iâve been programmed to believe in with your ideals...
I might actually want to live.Â
I might actually want to be free.Â
I might actually want to struggle, to escape, to disobey, to properly digest the beauty of what you forced down my throat before.Â
And I canât. I donât have time left.Â
So I must hate it. I must deny your words before they lure out the truths inside of me. Because itâs too lateâ
.........yes. It is too late indeed.Â
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ đ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you finally understood?Â
Youâre already far beyond trying to deny. Youâve already changed. If only you could see yourself through my eyes, you wouldâve understood much earlier.Â
You deserve so much more than you think.
You can be free. I will free you.Â
You can be happy. So get your happiness by yourself.Â
Your eyes stop on a four leaf clover. See? You can wish for happiness as well. Itâs yours and no one elseâs. Come now, take it into your hands.Â
The mist has cleared.Â
You reach out.Â
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ đ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Night falls.Â

Panam was never one for being able to hide her emotions, and the attempted smile betrayed by the rest of her cringing features gave testament to it. Cassidy, on the other hand, looked upon V with amusement.Â
âYeah, uh,â V started with an awkward cough, âguess the rockerboy part of Johnny didnât overwrite my brain yet.â She stared down at Cassidyâs borrowed guitar with a tinge of blush on her cheeks before handing it back to him.Â
âWell anytime you want to start learninâ, give me a holler,â Cassidy said with amusement as he set the guitar in his lap and plucked away at an idling tune.Â
V smiled in appreciation and turned to Panam, âSo, whatâs the plan for tomorrow anyhow?â
Panam leaned forward, the fire in her eyes sparking. âWeâre meeting up with a contact of ours thatâs worked with us and other Aldecado families in the past - Bryce Bane. Weâve used Bryce as our point of contact for operations in the Tucson area in the past - we figure itâs a good idea to help get general intel as well as see how we can help solve your problem.â
V nodded along, âAnd we can trust this Bryce?âÂ
Panam scoffed, âCould you trust Rogue?âÂ
V grimaced in recognition. âOnly after convincing her a 50 year old terrorist from her glory days was trapped inside my head.â
âSo unless you got another cyberpsycho inside your nogginâ, I wouldnât get too friendly with them.â Panam could see the disappointment creep along Vâs face - she was rather decent at hiding it, but the subtle quiver of the lip always gave her away. âBut,â she resumed, âwith all the gear weâve gotten from the Arasaka raid, itâd be hard to say no to a fresh load of biz coming their way.âÂ
âRightâŚâ V hesitated. âOkay. So - who, when, and where?â
Cassidy let out a chortle, âMitch wasnât kiddinâ about you city slickers.â
V smirked, giving her forehead a few taps, âI blame the ticking time bomb in my head.âÂ
Panam broke in, âWeâre due to meet them around noon, on the western side of the city outskirts. Now, I donât have reason to suspect theyâll pull anything, but it never hurts to come prepared. V, youâll be accompanying me to the meet while Cassidy, Mitch, and Carol provide overwatch.â
âAll eggs in one basket, hmm?â Carol interjected, sizing up the roster for this mission.
âMore like this is our first meet with this city and I need to make sure we get off on the right foot. And that means no itchy or jumpy triggers. I know I can count on the vets for that.â Panam looked around the table to mixed reactions. âWith that being said,â she continued, âI want to perform some reconnaissance of the area so we can set up 3 separate areas of vision around the meeting place. That means weâll be setting out early tomorrow - around sunrise - to set up.Â
âMitch, V?â she gestured towards each respectively, âYou two are going to drive out today and use the drone to do some recon. Note the terrain in the area and try to find overlooks that give a good view of the entire meeting sight as well as any paths to the area.â
V and Mitch made eye contact and nodded in agreement. âWeâll set out right away then,â Mitch said.
Panam smiled and nodded in affirmation, âExcellent. Weâll reconvene later tonight when you two return and go over the finer details.â
âPreem. Anything else?â V asked.
Panam shook her head, âNope, thatâs it. Just lemme know when you two get to the site.â
âYes, mom,â V smirked, and Mitch failed to suppress his own smile. Panam shot her a deadpan look of annoyance.Â
Mitch and V broke off and made their way over to the mechanics station. The Aldecados had set up shop in an abandoned warehouse of some sort - its floor had been picked clean so there hadnât been much cleanup required at all. But now, it housed the mighty Basilisk, along with the plethora of other vehicle repair necessities.
Mitch pointed to one of the corners, âDrone case is over there. Iâll grab a couple battery cases just in case.â
âWhat for?â V asked.
âWell, never know if we might need to use the active camo when we get there. And if we do, Iâd rather we be able to get a full scan of the area. Not cut corners, yâknow?â
âGood thinking,â V said with a huff as she lifted the hefty clamshell in her arms.
Mitch made his way back over, battery packs slung around his shoulder, and together they set off to their ride.Â
âHow well do you know this Bryce?â V asked.
âAs well as you know any fixer in Night City, really.â Mitch responded with a gruff. He was set to leave it at that, but looked over to Vâs expectant face. âWe didnât have a particularly contentious past, itâs just been quite a while, and well... weâre runninâ blind right now. A lot can change in 3 years.âÂ
V felt the gnawing of doubt creep back into her mind, despite her best efforts to keep it suppressed. The last thing she needed right now was to fall into despair before they even tried their first option. But even the existence of those lingering thoughts sent worry through her, every setback felt so severe and her mental health so weak, like fractured porcelain held in place by glue. A vace drifting through the air in slow motion, desperate for someone to catch her before she reaches the harsh and unyielding floor below.
Mitch seemed to be able to read the apprehension of Vâs face, âBut hey, we worked with some great techies back in Tucson. If they donât know what to do, then they sure know someone who will.âÂ
A shaky smile formed on her face, but hopeful words did little to soothe her anxiety. But she didnât have much time to ruminate over her thoughts as they pulled up to Mitchâs ride. They took turns loading their equipment onto the bed before climbing inside the cabin.
âAlright then, letâs get this started,â Mitch stated with finality.Â
**Â
V slung the canteen over her shoulder and let it rattle to the floor with a clank. She whinged at the sharp sound but was far too tired to react. It felt as if her entire body had a layer of dirt, like a second layer of skin. Yet all in all, it had been a very uneventful day, and she liked it that way. Though, she couldnât say the same thing for tomorrow, whatever that would hold. V had been used to working with fixers in the past, but this time it was different. She wasnât some solo anymore, money and fame the only thing on the mind. She was part of a family once more, her clan. When things went wrong, everybody had to suffer the consequences for it, whether physical or emotional. She had everyone else to think about. She had -Â
Judy. V smiled as she saw the soft hue of blue light bleed through the cracks of the garage door. She shrugged off her jacket and hung it on the coat rack, pausing as she flexed and stretched her stiff limbs. In a similar fashion she shuffled off the boots from her feet.
V made her way over to the garage to poke her head in, but stayed silent as she saw Judy sitting in her desk chair, BD wreath wrapped around her head. But something caught Vâs eye - many things, really. Judyâs hands clenched the armrests of her editing chair, her thighs pressed together as her legs writhed small motions back and forth. Her chest rose up and down with deep breaths, and the skin visible from the cut of her shirt was painted a deep blush.
V was about to raise an eyebrow in concern, but was interrupted by a soft mew that escaped Judyâs lips, followed by a much lower moan. V chuckled in response, Couldnât wait for me it seems, she thought to herself. Deciding it wasnât the best for her to interrupt Judyâs alone time while filthy, V made her way to the bathroom to wash away what she imagined were kilograms of sand and dirt from her body.
Of the few comforts she had gotten used to in Night City, hot water would have been one of the highest. The Bakkers had raised her through the traditional nomad lifestyle, but clearly she had softened up in a few ways. Shivers shot down her back as the cold water began rushing over her body, washing away the caked dirt and leaving goosebumps behind.Â
V was meticulous when it came to cleaning, especially with her cybernetic implants. She gave extra care to clean the creases and ports of her mantis blades. She had never had a problem with them so far, and she planned to keep it that way. It had been a recurring fear of hers that some mechanism would fail her when she needed them most - whether they failed to open properly, or extended on their own without command. In those moments she could almost hear Panam rage at her tombstone for being stupid enough to let something like routine maintenance lead to her downfall.
Just as she finished rinsing the suds from her hair, she heard the bathroom door open and close. She turned her head to see Judy rolling her panties down her legs, bra already discarded on the floor. Without a word, Judy climbed inside and pressed V against the shower wall, capturing her lips with her own. Her hands betrayed her neediness as they traveled along Vâs skin and down to her ass, roughly taking hold of each cheek. V yelped in surprise at the onslaught, but quickly gave in. Vâs hands, momentarily idle, found new life as they began to roam up along Judyâs curves, coming to rest upon her cheeks.Â
Judy paused and broke away, leaving both of them panting for breath. They looked into each othersâ eyes, lidded and wanting. âDidnât hear you come home,â Judy breathed.
âDidnât want to interrupt your fun,â V smirked, âplus, I felt gross.âÂ
Judyâs hands began shifting, creeping around Vâs front, âProbably woulda jumped your bones anyways.âÂ
Vâs response was cut short by her own sharp exhale as Judy ran a hand along her hardening shaft. Judy bit her own lip in smug satisfaction as she felt Vâs desire manifest within her grasp, before leaning back in, breathing warmth on chilled skin, and taking Vâs lip between her teeth. The two came together once more as their lips interlocked, broken apart only through momentary calls for air or teasing bites. Judyâs hand began tender strokes, back and forth, along Vâs length. Judy couldnât help the butterflies that poured through her as she felt Vâs hips begin to thrust ever so slightly - signs of a woman too pent up for her own good.
But Judy also felt that need, and it was quickly tended to. Vâs curious hands traveled downwards until they reached Judyâs waiting sex. Her fingers teased along Judyâs entrance, lightly brushing over her clitoris. Judy flexed under her touch, her thirst finally given life. But V, not one to tease at the moment, deftly inserted two fingers and began to give slow, languid thrusts. A flare of pride rushed through V as Judy began to push into her grasp, grinding her clit against the palm of Vâs hand.Â
Each needy thrust and flex spurred the other on, as they fed off each other's need and want, pressing into each other, grasping, thrusting, their pace increasing with every shaky breath. Their kiss became sloppy and unfocused, disrupted through their descent into pleasure. The drone of the shower head and the cool of the pouring water faded into the back of their minds - all that mattered was their touch.Â
Judy hovered over Vâs lips, to whisper, âV-â as if but a gasp. V closed the distance once more and captured Judyâs lips as she came undone beneath her. Shivers radiated through Judyâs body as Vâs fingers coaxed her through her orgasm. Vâs free hand brought Judy closer, pressing her against Vâs body for support as she came. Judy broke their kiss and slumped her head into the crook of Vâs neck, her moans becoming muffled.Â
But her comedown didnât slow Judyâs pace - if anything, it increased her fervor. As she regained her footing, Judy changed tactics. Instead, she focused along Vâs erogenous zones, kissing and leaving love marks along Vâs jaw and neck to below her ear, stroking to the tune of the heady thrusts that met her hand.Â
V was holding on, prolonging her suffering, until she heard Judy plead, âPlease V -â and she came undone. With each stroke V shivered, her hips spasmed unpredictably and unpracticed, almost fucking the hand wrapped around her throbbing length. Each release brought haughty gasps that sent fire through Judy.Â
With one final languid squeeze, V nigh collapsed on top of Judy. âWoah there,â Judy helped lean V back against the shower wall.
V returned the smile, albeit weary, before leaning in to give Judy one last kiss, âCouldnât stop thinking about this all day.â
âMy my, what a pervert~â Judy floated.
V snorted, âSays the one sending me nudes mid-op,â
âDetails V, details,â Judy reached for the soap once more. âThink we need to get cleaned back up, hmm?âÂ
âAnd then we go straight to bed,â V concluded.
âRight. Bed.âÂ

This thread was a response to questions about how to build soil. I look at the big picture what helps soil grow & end with a discussions about how towns & cities might be designed to help.
So thereâs so much to cover in how to repair things. Iâm going to do a slow thread on how the designed and built environment can be directed to soil building and climate repair.
1st thing to think about is what is soil? For brevity iâm going to say soil is the culturing of weathered rock with a food web of microorganisms that leads to making rock nutrients solvable &stores them along with organic carbon. (Soil scientists i know iâm over-simplifying)
Iâm talking about aerobic souls formed with oxygen rather than anaerobic. Wetlands souls are amazing and do good. But there are reasons to focus in aerobic for now. (Iâm a huge fan of wetlands and pond systems too)
Too much water and too much compaction removes oxygen. The system switches to anaerobes that live by yanking Oxygen off of soil nutrients, making them smell bad and able to leave the soil. They also produce alcohols that prevent plant roots from growing.
So this kind of soil needs: enough air, water, contact with plants (that feed it with sugars and proteins made with photosynthesis and CO2 exuded from their roots.)
Rock weathers into subsoil without a lot of big life, when plants interact with it they build living subsoil through their roots and the accumulation of organic matter on top.
Living soil is protective. So it actually protects the subsoil from some of the processes that speed up formation. Which is why in natural conditions it can settle into a very slow rate of production.
We have been running civilizations in the use of this built up soil. Turning it killing fungi and structure to get bacterial blooms that feed out Annual crops.
This leads to Erosion rates more similar to mountain systems then the low lands where the soil formed. We are burning through our soil to grow and crash quite a few civs
You have to understand. The buffering capacity of our plants souls* could have handled the CO2 from fossil fuels. Only what we used fossil fuels for was to increase erosion, change the balance of water runoff, deforest, and plow over the grasslands every April. 8/?
*Sorry about the autocorrect to soul. Lol
I have to be off-line for a spell but Iâll continue with a discussion about how we design to accelerate that soil building process. Including some references in case studies
So i want to introduce a few puzzle pieces. The first is the work of this man PA Yeomans. He was a mining geologist who retired and starting thinking about soil care from a Geomorphologist POV
When he set off to tend his land, the Australian gov provided soil conservation literature focused on contour plowing. Based on the view that soil is precious(it is) but that itâs impossible to speed its production (itâs not)
The main problems with contour based design can be seen from this image by PA. On land contours are not parallel. This slows water but it drains ridges and concentrates water in valleys. Overdrying and overwriting soil at the same time. Can even blow out.
PA developed a way of understanding topographic features to organize landscapes so that: water is infiltrated, spread, extra collected stored as high as possible to re-hydrate during dry times. He realized this could be used to organize everything on broad acre farmland
This prob is too dense for Twitter. But imagine land as big ridges between streams and they have smaller ridges and valleys. Imagine the inflection point in those smaller valleys where the land nicks in like a clavicle * in the pic 13/
PA called them keyponts and they are : the highest water concentrating point in land, where soils thicken, & any line parallel to this on the land concentrated water above but spreads water below
Now he had a way to organize features. First he placed ponds at those points. Collection drains could be set to collect overland flow and move it into those ponds. Then any roads could follow those drains with minimal impact actually helping water collection.
And bellow, the land could be plowed with a subsoiler that sharpers the subsoil without turning the soil. And he would plow down on ridges and up on valleys which means water spreads.
PAs land:
And here in red are plow lines (or how to organize and water receiving element such as tree rows to spread water along ridges)
Roads, buildings, pasture, agroforestry- whatever could be designed. Roads can also be placed along ridges, Trees get planted along ridges & in valleys and along streams with complete connectivity. And humans move out of valleys to ridges, leaving valleys for soil and wildlife.
This planning process is like adding sourdough starter to flour and sugar and adding just enough water. The subsoil can be reached by water, roots, inoculated by microbes. you can rapidly add feet of topsoil. Keyline farms are amazing. They stop flashy creeks & can repair land
And it should be viewed as appropriate for where people live and farm. Ag land not the giant ranges that could be bison prairies.
So there is more. PAs last book was on how these design methods could be applied to cities and towns. That towns could extend along ridges, roads could direct water into Catchment which could water yards then agricultural & reforested lowlands. He called it âthe city forestâ

Think about what this would mean. Human settlements designed so they are collectors of water, human labor, and even humanure, directed towards the generation and care of soils and forestry.
So letâs talk examples. Frederick Law Olmstead designed a number of Stormwater collecting parks Into towns. One of the most famous being Bostonâs Emerald Necklace. /24
His son John Charles did something similar when he designed Portland Oregonâs water collecting neighborhood of Lauralhurst. Before the current Stormwater system, Laurelhurst Park was the detention basin.
Next step in the journey Is Davis California in the 80s where Mike Corbett designed village homes a neighborhood designed to handle Stormwater by soaking it in Swales and orchards rather then management systems
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Village_Homes
Hereâs a video of Mollison touring the place in the 1990s. https://youtu.be/v_05oRQxssQ Iâve heated that they have managed several very large storm events that flooded their neighbors. All while building the soil and restoring the water table.
Village Homes with Bill Mollison (improved audio)
So:,remember this and this question: what if we really looked for a city that took this approach?
Well, here's Siena Italy which started as a number of little settlements and converged in the hills of Tuscany: that big public square is the Piaza Del Campo- built in the key point of the landscape, The roads collect water into drains and reservoirs under the piazzas.

28/ if you look at the landscape you see how this hilltown stayed on the uplands and collected water to irrigate the lowlands.

Underground passages for water, the 'fountain of the earth' sits at the keypoint, and the lowland valleys are irrigated and saved for soil...
