in my opinion, blitz's reaction to stolas' confession was a trauma response. it's how he learned to handle his emotions and how he knows to communicate genuine feelings.

he cycled through his tools. he went from making a joke, and then when that didn't work, he turned to anger. he didn't know how to process that stolas actually cares about him, so the only way he knew to handle it was anger. blitz seems to be used to avoiding such conversations, and when forced to face one with such importance, he cracked.

he has his insecurities and struggled in communicating them properly. my interpretation of blitz's outburst is that that was him finally being ready to actually talk. like, he was yelling and angry, but he was finally saying things he felt, just hurtfully. that doesn't mean that stolas should've accepted it, but i think that blitz was trying to communicate with the little ways he knows how.

both stolas and blitz are traumatized individuals with different attachment types. stolas is anxious, while blitz is avoidant. they're going to struggle to have any sort of healthy communication, and they won't get it on their first try.
