They’re both so out of it 😭 It’s the weirdly intense and unearned mutual trust and reliance on each other?? They’re each other’s weird little comfort codependent teddy bear. Or at least they were headed towards that before SHE DIED THEN HE DIED THEN THEY BOTH FORGOT ABOUT EACH OTHER AND NEVER MET EVER AGAIN. Though she’s also the guard attack hound keeping him safe… And vice versa he heals her and can rewrite her very being with just one wave of his hand. They’re both so so mentally and physically vulnerable both but they cling onto each other. They can’t perceive things accurately but despite it all someway somehow they stumble into something closer to resembling companionship just before they both die. Falin is just that kind and Thistle is just that lonely. Overworked.

We both haven’t lived for ourselves in a very long time, haven’t we.

They both have a similar devotion to the people they love but again the difference is that Thistle starts overtsepping while Falin is self-effacing. The other difference between them is that people care about Falin <3 People have given up on Thistle long ago, and he has given people reasons to, while people refuse to give up on Falin. Yaad has a mini arc about it dw about it it’s ok he’s not all alone in the end 😭😭 He reached out for Marcille’s hand but they already all wanted to help him, they just had to be given the chance to, Yaad just had to be given the chance to, it’s okay I’m okay

obligatory TW rewatch scott appreciation post bc he's so interesting and fun as a character

i genuinely adore how the writers gave scott such a loving personality? like his first instinct when he meets allison is to give her a pen because he heard that she needed one. he tags along with stiles ep 1 because stiles wanted to see the body (why would an asthmatic with school in the morning want to go traipsing out into the wilderness to see a dead body??). throughout the series he takes in strays (lol) even if they've ACTIVELY TRIED TO KILL HIM in the past. and the part that i love the most is how the writers gave him room to be a bad person, too. they gave him moments where he was a bad friend, a bad boyfriend. but they didn't make those moments ones that outshone his real personality. they were treated like moments he grew from and made him into an even kinder person.

scott doesn't get the love he deserves imo he's such a well written character and someone i strive to emulate

whenever dally and sylvia are broken up, he just goes and harasses steve and evie when they’re on their dates because he’s always in his “if i can’t be happy no one can” mindset. he’s either catcalling them, or he’s making the most inappropriate comments whenever they’re doing something as little as holding hands (he’ll scream at them to “use protection” even though they’re literally just holding hands, nothing more). steve absolutely despises it and is ready to beat the tar out of him every time he sees dally and he’s out in a date (evie honestly is too, she’s not one to play around when it comes to date night, or steve lmao)

whenever dally and sylvia are going hot the two of them get their revenge tho, it’s like some petty little contest they have.

mayhaps this is a hot take but I truly dislike “Loid gets murderous and overprotective of Anya dating Damian” content

like. there are sm reasons I dislike it

first off, just fundamentally, I hate that trope. I think parents being protective of children in general is cute, and even maybe protective against their partners to an extent, but it rlly feeds into the Western (esp American) notion of parents owning their children. it gets even grosser when it’s the dad and his daughter, it’s just a branch of ‘women and their purity having to be guarded until they’re properly married’ sexism

secondly, if this is pre-reveal (either Damian comes over/talks to Anya in front of Loid and it’s p obvious he has a crush, so Loid, of course, course notices, OR somehow, post-canon yet not revealed, they get together), Loid would absolutely use that to advance Operation Strix lol

obviously Loid is NOT a bad or uncaring father, he is absolutely not that, BUT he does also very vehemently care about achieving world peace thru his spy work, AND ANYA UNDERSTANDS AND EVEN AGREES WITH THIS (to the highest extent she can as a child, at least). he would never partake in extensive manipulation that’d harm Anya emotionally (or even Damian tbh, his whole goal is to create a world where no children have to cry) but he would DEFINITELY encourage their relationship in order to eventually, somehow get to Desmond the ghoul-eyed freak

thirdly, even if this is POST-reveal, I still don’t think Loid would be unreasonable. sure, he may apprehensive due to Damian’s family and more concrete examples of Anya growing up (MAYBE bc honestly I think Loid would be ecstatic with every milestone in Anya’s life considering how genuinely supportive and proud of her that he is) BUT. but

he, again, not only wants to create a world where no children have to cry, so he clearly values the youth and their quality of life, but ALSO KNOWS abt how shitty Damian’s father is. personally, I think he’d be GLAD that Damian has a safe place to come to, with ppl who’ll support him (unconsciously, bc Loid is very oblivious to his own emotions lmao)

anyways, tldr; the “Loid being super hostile to Damian dating Anya” trope is tired and sucks and we should move onto appreciating a trope that honours the CORE of sxf, more found family, where Damian joins the Forgers, even before he and Anya potentially marry (even before they date if possible tbh)

But I like their dynamic as a feedback loop

Sebastian reciprocates and has his own desire, but it plays off of Ciel and it's a constant volley back and forth, reacting to each other, rather than two separate self-contained things coming together

How Sebastian morphs in response to Ciel's wishes says more about Ciel than Sebastian

a while ago the gang and i were talking about how we needed a word to express shipping something in Not the sense of "im invested in this, i actively produce or seek out fan content, it's an otp" but more like "i support this pairing, when i see it i go yay it's them they're in love :), but i don't get inspired by it in that way" and for now the word we settled on is send. i send them. i nod and smile and reblog. but i dont live in this neighbourhood. theyre gay and im gonna keep scrolling

So I sometimes struggle with figuring out how I am perceived, and it's gotten worse (or like. weirder?) since I moved to TN. In California, people my age or slightly older told me more than once that I was intimidating, kids thought I was a slightly older kid, and people my parent's age or older mostly thought I was a "nice kid", which was sometimes baffling (my dentist, looking at my chart, asking me when I'd graduate high school when I was in my mid twenties, for example) but usually not negative. I did not understand why people found me intimidating but the rest of it I was like okay I don't really understand how they know I can be trusted to keep an eye on this shop or a small child, for example, but they are not wrong and it's pretty consistent? In TN, I mostly get that same reaction, I sometimes get the people unhappy I am wearing a mask, but I also get pretty consistently clocked as having adhd??? and wanting pride merch???? But only ever by people who say it as like "oh you know how it is with adhd" or who are themselves wearing pride merch???? And like, again, they aren't wrong, but I have zero idea how they know! What I am learning from this is that I am even more oblivious to subtle social signalling than I thought I was, so I guess I am just glad the signals I give off without knowing are apparently (mostly) accurate lol
