The animation in Nezha 2 is incredible and breathtaking. I'm not even saying that to hype the movie up (because it already surpasses all expectations that I had going in and stands on its own merit)---the fluidity of the animation, the sheer scale of the landscapes and level of detail the animators put into each scene (especially the way they animate water? Like holy shit???) literally made me grip my armrest in the theatre. When Wuliang's massive fucking cauldron descends from the sky the animation and sound design are unreal, I felt myself shifting uncomfortably because it felt like I was there, looking up at an awe-inspiring but terrifying punishment from the heavens. When Nezha and Ao Bing are throwing hands with our villains the choreography is insanely well done, in fact every fight scene is beautifully choreographed without the action becoming unreadable or hard to follow. I hope Nezha gets the international acclaim success it deserves because animation (particularly donghua) as an art form deserves so much care and respect, and audiences should be presented with art that inspires them and showcases the heights of what an industry is capable of

Yesterday, I saw three guys on the bus. One was a bit shorter, another was taller and wore glasses, and the third was this gorgeous, pretty boy wearing earrings. I was like Where’s Remus?

Then the pretty boy got a call and started getting shouted at for being late. The whole thing felt like I was watching a Marauders scene play out in real life.
