Thought it would be cute since I have Engima and Rodimus as Conjux, so Enigma is meeting his new sister in Law. I tried to draw Sparkplug as close to their art style as possible.

Also, despite his neutral expression Engima is losing it on the inside from how cute the baby is. He would and will kill for her.

♇ as it comes to their aesthetic, i have observed many of them like neutral colours and are into self-care. the type to have many skin products.

♇ scent/senses is very important for them and they tend to be very hygienic people.

♇ out of all the feminine archetypes, enigma archetypes are the ones who have the most diverse personalities, makes sense to the title of their archetype, not knowing who or what they specifically are.

fashion wise, they are people who know their colours really well. are likely going to wear gold jewellery.

♇ and to make the enigma archetype easier to comprehend i gathered characters from different tv shows or films that come under the archetype.

⟶ harry potter franchise - luna lovegood, embodies the shy and kept to themselves side of the enigmas, [as i said they are a very fluid and diverse archetype], as enigmas, luna is perceived to be someone who is strange but doesnt allow it to make her feel insecure. she helps other people and is kind, embraces her quirkiness.

⟶ from american horror story [coven] - misty day, the stereotypical spiritual enigma who cares for nature and the earth. has a special connection with animals and with life itself, very caring and eccentric, and as a healthy enigma, she doesnt allow people's views of her to bring her down.

⟶ avatar the way of water - kiri, when i was thinking of fictional characters who are the enigma, kiri was the first character that appeared in my head. she is connected with the earth, creative and connects herself to a higher source of power, [even though she is already connected to eywa from what i believe]. is connected to life and death.

⟶ from friends - phoebe buffay, embodies the childlike nature of the enigma, the nature where people perceive them to be "ditzy". when she is around the people she likes, she can come off as very chatty.

⟶ naruto franchise - hinata hyuga/uzumaki, embodies the shy nature of the enigma. the enigma that loves with their all, can have creative blockages and people underestimate who she is and her power. hinata is aware of how the world poorly treats people as she did belong to clan that didnt really care for their people. [ex. neji]. sometimes expresses the mysterious side an enigma can be.

⟶ from the original franchise - freya mikaelson, is the witch of her family and is very connected to nature, chiefly because of the time she was born. she is someone who likes to ground herself and is one of the siblings who thinks things out the most, will do anything for the sake of love and family. strong opinions and holds a strong bond of life and death, like misty day.

⟶ the last of us - dina woodward, likes to be connected to a higher source, shows when she gives ellie the evil eye bracelet, embodies the expressive side of the enigma and is likely open to "open-relationships" chiefly due to her bond with jesse and ellie. she is direct with what she wants, does like her peace.

⟶ from the haunting of hill house - nell crain, some people overlook her connection to a higher source of power; to see how you are going to die since you were young is pretty psychic. had spiritual phases and like many enigma characters is very connected with death, had tried to ground herself but wasnt able, especially becuase of her therapist. does keep a big part of herself but she normally did that because she didnt want to burden her siblings.

⟶ winx club - flora, represents the kind, nature-loving and mysterious side of the enigma, especially with the vibrant colours she wears, it might not really appear that there's this secrecy and mystery to flora's character but ever since i've watched the show when i was young, i've always noted an essence of puzzle and unsolved problem when it comes to her. like she's there but not at the same time.

⟶ from euphoria - cassie howard, you might wonder how cassie belongs to the enigma archetype and the girl embodies everything that an underdeveloped enigma is. is willing to drop everything for her lover, look past the red-flags and become what their lovers wants them to be. cassie is a big lover girl, and likes to make her lovers feel seen and heard, especially for what she did to nate, telling him she can be whatever he wants her to be.

♇ as i have done my research, i gathered that a lot of enigmas are are likely going to have capricorn, leo and pisces in their big three; in order of how much they appeared.

♇ they are also going to have leo, capricorn and taurus appear in their dominant signs; in order of how much they appeared.

♇ the planets jupiter, sun and pluto appeared in their dominant planets the most; in order of how much they appeared.

♇ the element that appeared the most was earth, second was fire and third was water.

♇ lastly, when it comes to the modality, what appeared the most was fixed and the second modality was mutable.

Due to Feyre being an archer, I headcanon she has very defined skeletal-muscular build through her chest and shoulders, including her collarbones

Momma has built shoulders and strong arms. It's possibly the strongest muscle grouping in Feyre's body aside from that human heart of hers.

I imagine it's one of her features Rhysand is secretly madly in love with. They're like the perfect framework for any necklaces he gives her.

Something about Feyre's collarbones in my mind screams they'd be elegant on top of everything, but I see Feyre growing into more of a class sex appeal VS male gaze sex appeal outside of the CoN now that she is a mother.

Breasts change a lot with motherhood as well, so I imagine that's motivation for her to continue working her upper body.

I see deep plunging necklines being replaced with sweetheart cuts that dip a bit more in the center, highlighting her.. What was it Rhysie said? Ripe apple-like breasts coming.

Listen, becoming a mom doesn't mean you can't still be sexy (at least lie to me and echo chamber that for me, please) but I think it would change Feyre's cleavage style significantly.

I honestly would find her dressing like this so powerful. She's gone through her spring phase, her high lords play toy phase, let her have a "this is the only preview you get," phase with a new, fuller, hot mom bod, SJM. Please, your mother readers are begging for it.

Mor

Mor is an engima to me. I don't know why.

I don't imagine her with collarbones that capture your attention, but I think that's because I see Mor with a very regal neck, if that makes sense?

Her neckline creates that flow to her very soft collarbones. They're definitely visible, but not that way I believe other females are.

Mor has her fashion set to follow the flow of her body lines, hence the cutout gowns.

I think with Mor, underboob and inside boob cleavage is more popular than traditional top cleavage.

I may be picturing her dresses wrong, but I always picture those dresses girls bought in like early like... 2010s to be Greek goddesses for Halloween. Some of you will know exactly what I'm talking about. Others are about to find out.

Mor strikes me as too confident to worry about modesty and I don't hate her for that.

I mean, if I was a female general and had a body like Mor does, I too would show off my underboobs as a way to show my abs.

Nesta

Ness has collarbones you dream of sipping red wine from. I was going to make that all this section says. I was told that was unfair.

There's something about Nesta that screams collarbone. I don't think she's an unhealthy weight by any means, I just picture her with that built there they are deep and pronounced.

Nesta, I see, as very modest despite fanart depicting her otherwise. I do not think you get to see Ness and her collarbones as often as you may like, and when you do it is a treat.

I imagine Nesta in a lot of square neck lines that maybe have an illusion netting to show a bit of cleavage, but I do not see her in the deep dipping dresses she is sometimes shown in. I know they may have been canon, but, it's canon that feels un-Nesta to me.

Elain

Big girls, where we at?

It's no secret I picture Elain as a plus size girly, and while it is possible for plus sized women to have very visible collarbone built (it's as much about skeletal structure as it is the fluff), I do not picture this for Elain.

In general, I see Elain much softer than her sisters both on the inside and in physical appearance, and those who've gotten to know me best know I think Elain is easily the most attractive of the 3.

Elain has the collarbones that are noticeable when her head is angled just right.

She's thought about making a bargain, hoping the mark would high light them more. That was met with a soft smile from Rhysand, his hand gently touching her face, "That's not how that works, Elain." Rhysand would then introduce her to glimmery cosmetics called highlighters she uses to add some sparkle to her collarbones.

Elain is my off the shoulder moment sister and due to that, I imagine her necklines being similar to Feyre's: Sweethearts, but make it cutesy sexy

I think Elain is a little more bold than Nesta cleavage wise, but not as bold as Feyre may be.

Elain is more willing to show some upper chest and I love her for it.

Along with Pinki, Jevin uses his singing voice to comfort others

He's one of the survivors in the horror timeline besides Gray, due to escaping and hiding well from Blackhat

He discovered Tunner attempting to unalive himself and was able to approach and comfort him

Jevin has two weapons for emergency- An axe and a freaking scythe- (he's full of surprises)

Jevin only knew Blackhat for a little while back in the day, but when he got older, he grew to hating him ever since he appeared to be an asshole and when horror mode happened

He's sheriff of the Sprunkis- He's super hardworking and takes his job very seriously

Tunner was a survivor in the horror timeline, but due to all of the stress that's been going on and thinking he wasn't able to save all of the Sprunkis, he thought the only way out was to shoot himself in the head with his gun... Luckily, he was found by Jevin after that

Through the horror timeline, he dissociates everything around him, mainly because he thinks he failed his fellow Sprunkis as sheriff..

Tunner really hates Blackhat- Especially when he's taunting him

Lastly, Sky!

14 years old, Cis man (he/him), Aroace

A bear cub

The youngest of the Sprunkis- He's a shy but sweet kid who wants to be involved with the others

He's pretty small for his age

Sky is really obsessed with plushies and loves collecting them- His favorites are teddy bears

He looks up to the other Sprunkis as his sibling/parent figures- Tho he's more closer with Jevin and Tunner

In the horror timeline, Blackhat impaled him with four metal rods (jesus- ._.)

Sky really really hates Blackhat- Not only he "died" a painful "death", but Blackhat burned his whole collection of plushies just to be petty- He was able to only save one teddy bear :(

Also, since Adobe is... well, being Adobe at the moment, I'm messing with various free drawing programs to find something other than Photoshop, so this is a super sketchy test with Krita. The program feels rather... unwieldy, though the default brushes are fun lmao.

Anyway, I saw a video named "[Limbus Company] Shrimp in-fighting" showing two Corrosions of the Soda E.G.O in-fighting, and the Soda E.G.O is humanoid shrimp... and I remembered that Meursault treats cooking and food Very Seriously™ (dragging the other sinners in pun [Korean]/rhyme [English] in the Hell's Chicken event), so my brain went "he'd probably eat the most edible Corrosions of his teammates considering how badly his teammates cook" and I decided to use the most Shrimple choice. They're krilling each other, but Meursault is seeing them through Food-o-Vision and would probably take them both out if he thinks he can get away with it lmao.

yes exactly i kinda thought about mentioning franco but then thats opening a whole other can of worms. franco in himself is an engima for two main reasons - in some of the races he performed well which makes him appealing, and he has a strong fanbase and sponsorship package supporting him, which is attractive to any midfield team. franco is probably the only one in a similar situation to daniel going back to red bull, wherein it is very obvious he is signed to alpine to put pressure on someone to perform and eventually pick up a seat. zhou is not going to be kicking lewis or charles out of ferrari lbr, and neither is bottas going to be threatening kimi or george. i get staying in f1 is important to them, and so therefore this seems the best way to go about it, but the harsh truth is that situations are different. there is no way this much engagement would have been created for reserve driver roles if it wasn't for daniel.

I'm curious, in your totk rewrite, would the final fight with Ganondorf be the same, or would you do something entirely different?

somewhat, this is a bit of a different take on ganondorf though, it makes more sense in context of his changed ... or added rather, backstory;

you fight him once before, not a phantom like in canon but him physically, were hes still trying to cope with the horros he had lived through being half awake for such a long time so he isnt much for talking, at the end of it he has like a breakdown that essentially causes cataclysm 2.0 (that might even open up new caves that were previously just cracks in walls too) and which spawns the miasma/memory trees that contain his memories, all of which you need to collect to unlock the ending-

structurally the final fight is similar:

theres a horde of enemies you fight all together and the sages get taken away once you reach ganondorf; when you find him hes all calm and collected but does not allow zelda to talk to him despite her understanding how it had come to all of this and her wishing for a different solution; the fight begins but over time as he loses HP he start to act differently, less calculating and like he is in control and more and more aggresively, and more jumpy like he is afraid of something

phase two he gets too cornered and activates his enigma stone + the sages rejoin you, he is visibly just trying to put an end to you using everything he has to offer, phase two of phase two, he loses it and changes into a beast form (a miasma version of the best forms we know basically, i made a sketch of it once but it was only a rly early concept; i need to put more boar features on that

(unsure whether i want this to be his engima stone active version or the actual beast one) after he changes into beast form he charges at link and zelda and essentially burrows through the earth with them, breaking through the surface in the hyrule plains where the dark beast ganon fight happened in botw, here you fight him in the open, any weathher and time of day can happen here so its a much more diverese vibe each time; he is very fast in this form, if you are familiar with bloodborne im thinking of something akin to the first phase of ludwigs fight but a little more coordinated

this fight ends with zelda telling you to shoot at her so she uses her shielding powers (sth she can also do in the game itself) to reflect your arrow in a certain angle (reference to how ww zelda shoots an arrow you need to deflect in order to defeat gan but in reverse), it hits the ornament keeping the enigma stone in place from the side and it flings off

the battle seemingly ends with beast ganon falling to the ground, zelda tries to run and take it away but gan is still awake and sees in her how sonia sealed him way back, so in a last ditch effort to avoid the fate he had just escaped (despite zelda not wanting to do any of that) lunges for the stone and swallows it

he transforms into a dragon snatching up the both of you and flying high into the sky, zelda can wriggle free but falls and while she could land safely with her paraglider gan is flying off with link so she makes a last moment decision to take in her enigma stone as well, she transforms, rams into gan to free link and a somwhat similar fight as in canon happens, though i would like zelda to be more openly agressive towards dragon-gan

sicne in this version gan doesnt have his stone on the forehead somehow but inside like you would expect you need to fly into his mouth to end the fight, assuming you have found the lab that held the moonbloom (perhaps kogas so tie him nicely into it all) needed for the reverse dragon medicine (bc i wanted to involve links passion for cooking somewhat i thought it would be cool if he takes the chrage on that to make that special dish), you now use it, causing gan to spit out his stone and reversing (still unsure whether he survives this or not, but i thought of the scene from spirited away when chihiro gives haku the lil herb thingy to make him spit out whats killing him when i was coming up with this) zelda catches you again and you use the second charge on her to reverse her as well, boom you got your epic falling scene, the sages also now have made their way up through the tunnel, perhaps they catch gan too

this is a super rough current concept for it, it might all change still so dont take this as the final version, still working on it all after all

He may or may not have symbols/tatoos of his late mother and a skeleton marking on his hands, arms and neck(All are permanent). He is 5’10 and is lean muscular. But he is not afraid to have the same hairstyle as Sam but different length and color.

Personality:

♡ Like Father like son. Friendly and charisma but had some of all his late mother's personality, deceiving, bold and seductively flirty. But he is a gentleman with a heart of gold. As a housewarden of Noirutopia, he had to be strict yet laid back however never allowed rulebreakers or chaos in his dorm since the dorm had enough chaos. He is not materialistic and knows how to finance money. He is so intelligent that he rival Azul's on smarts. However he is loyal to his girlfriend Nyx so good like trying to get him to cheat on her. Hi hi hello hello, sorry it took so long to get this one done. I've actually been planning it out since I got it because it's not one I can do easily off the top of my head. I wanted to incorporate as much stuff as I could so it took a while to really lay thoughts down finally. Anyways, here it IS. It includes supernatural and mythological creatures from multiple cultures, btw. Sorry if I missed any particular faves.

Kiryu Kazuma: Dragon

Bit on the nose but our Kiryu can't be anything but a dragon. Powerful to a point of being otherworldly and with a driving fire in his belly, Kiryu is dragon similar to that of Haku from Spirited Away. He is simaltaneously tormented by his spiritual being but also extremely conscious of his abilities and how to use them. Sometimes he fears the sharpness of his own claws and wonders if his powers couldn't be used for something better or at the very least gentler.

Majima Goro: Ouroboros

With his snakeskin jacket, Majima is an ouroboros in walking human form. Known as the snake that holds its own tail in its mouth, Majima is his own best friend and worst enemy. His lifestyle of being on the absolute razor edge has left him holding his own fate in his hands, or in some cases, his mouth. He constantly lives in a state of holding on to his own past or biting it off entirely and becoming someone separate from it.

Saejima Taiga: Werewolf

Equally sensitive as he is strong, a werewolf is the perfect personification of who Saejima is and his internal struggle. He's very much a man who has a love/hate relationship with his supernatural struggle. On one hand, it makes him able to protect those he loves and stand up for what's right. On the other hand, he feels like he's controlled by it more than anything. He often questions if there's more to his life than brutish force.

Akiyama Shun: Centaur

Swift and steadfast like a stallion, all with the charisma and temperment of a human being. Handsome by nature but stands out in his own special way. Although he is prone to living lazily in his own comfort, when push comes to shove, he wouldn't hesitate to race to your side when you need him. Also really good at kicking people really hard.

Tanimura Masayoshi: Moon Rabbit

Small but mighty. Typically found alone despite having connections to other beings or even working under other more powerful creatures. Agile and has a penchant for sweet foods. Many people see him but truly do not know much about him.

Ryuji Goda: Basilisk

Similar to Kiry, Ryuji embodies a powerful snake-like creature. Although Ryuji also has great physical force, his form is slightly more reserved in that respect. If he desired, he could simply destroy another person with so much as a glance, choosing to raise his fists only for fights and people he deems truly worthy.

Nishikiyama Akira: Shachihoko

With the body of a carp and the head of a dragon, Nishiki's tattoo is truly the embodiment of what kind of mythological creature he would be. Always trailing the cusp of greatness, Nishiki finds himself trying to evolve while also struggling to remain true to himself. It's this very struggle that in the end either transforms him entirely into one being or the other or simply tears him apart.

Daigo Dojima: Sphinx

Daigo is a multifaceted person with a complex life, which only makes it fitting that his supernatural form be equally complicated. Part man, part lion, and part eagle, Daigo in his older age is a balance of brute strength, intelligence, and justice. He tries his hardest to embody the best of all these qualities but struggles to find the balance within himself. Sometimes this drive to be the best of everything leads him astray, blinding him from what really matters.

Mine Yoshitaka: Chimera

Our mysterious Mine is not understood by anyone. He's truly an engima, with his form changing varying on the situation he's in and who's nearby. Sometimes Mine doesn't know who he is and loses himself in between these transformations. Ultimately, it's this constant desire to change himself that is the end of him.

Tatsuo Shinada: Tanuki

Playful yet mysterious, Shinada is a shapeshifting tanuki that transforms as he needs to survive. Mostly content to get by day to day, saying and doing what he must to make it to yet another day. Partial to free stuff, snacks, and lying through his teeth to avoid hard work or responsibilities.

Ichiban Kasuga: Phoenix

Wonder-boy Ichiban cannot die. Even at his lowest, he doesn't die, he simply transforms and shines even brighter. Although constantly pushing harder and forward in life does tire him out, he always comes back stronger than ever. Somtimes even he's amazed at what he's capable of when he puts his mind to it.

Yu Nanba: Ratatoskr

Known in Norse mythology as the messenger between the eagles Yggdrasil and the serpent Niohoggr, Nanba's time as a homeless man has caused him to observe all walks of life and made him a silent but observant person. Known more his brains than his brawn, Nanba finds ways to be of importance without necessarily shedding blood, either his own or someone else's.

Koichi Adachi: Minotaur

All brawn no brains, our Adachi. He's got a good heart in there somewhere deep down but the years have made him a little jaded. Fears his only purpose is to hand out ass whoopings and nothing else meaningful. Once he gets really riled up, good luck with that fight. The man can really pummel when he feels like it. Spends most of his alone time just doing his own thing. No one really knows what else he does, honestly.

Tianyou Zhao: Qilin

Known as a symbol of good luck, Zhao floats through life either trying his best to give better fortune to others or just getting extremely lucky himself. He tries to make it appear as though it's easy or that it comes naturally to him, but he does exert quite a bit of effort underneath the surface.

Joon-Gi Han: Selkie

Depending on the situation he's in, he can either put on or remove the skin necessary to preserve his own life. Often feels like a fish out of water, pun intended. Typically alone but people find themselves drawn to him anyways, mostly for his physical beauty. Beneath his desirable outer appearance, he harbors great power.

The Enigma was startled by his leapt and so her concentration was interrupted, causing her to let go of him. “Eap!”

SpiderGirl saw it and shot a web to the upper door frame and leapt herself. The two missed each other, and thus William was able to enter the room.

Harry threw himself protectively over his father. “No!” he said.

William was continuing to revert as he approached the bed. As he changed back to his usual form, his resolve wavered. He then felt something. SpiderGirl had shot a couple of webs onto his back.”

“Let me…”

“No!” SpiderGirl said. “It’s over, William.”

“Now that we know, we’ll also investigate what happened to you, along with everything else that’s happening in Lawndale,” Dafoanairi added as she followed SpiderGirl in.

“But it will be dangerous,” William said, tiredly as he completely reverted, he sat in a chair, exhausted.

Doctor Phillips entered the room, passing the fourth vigilante where she stood next to the door looking around the room. ‘Except at SpiderGirl, it seems,’ he thought. “The metahuman has been secured. The lockdown is no longer in effect,” Cuddy said over the intercom.

The Shadow took that in as she dashed through the dark corridors. “Oh, I was a little late, then,” she murmured. ‘May as well return home, relieve Jennifer.’

It wasn’t long before an orderly ushered Peterson into the room where Osborn was being treated. “Here it is, officer,” he said,

“Thanks,” Peterson said as she entered the room.

SpiderGirl, Dafoanairi and the Engima all looked relieved.

“Thanks for helping out,” Peterson said. “William Morris. I’m taking you down to the station for some questions as soon as the Sun has set.”

“I heard you this morning, at the front door,” William said. “Thanks for helping the Morgendorffers.”

“And I’ll have to tell Mrs. Morgendorffer about this as well. Her reputation as a lawyer precedes her,” Peterson added with a glance at Dafoanairi, who was making a quick exit with the Enigma.

“I better get going too,” SpiderGirl said.

“Sure,” Peterson said.

SpiderGirl opened the window and swung away.

“That was touch and go,” the Enigma said as they went to the nearby stairs.

“I agree. It was lucky SpiderGirl came up with that idea. I probably would have taken longer to think of it,” Dafoanairi said.

“Probably not too much longer,” the Enigma said as they came up to the stairs.

Brittany was glad the situation had been resolved. The lights in the Emergency Room had been turned back on when she saw Quinn enter.

“Quinn again?” Ashley-Amber asked. “She must be quite concerned.”

“She is,” Brittany said as she went over.

“I got them to turn off the lights,” Quinn said quietly. “After I remembered how dark the basement was, and that Daria and I didn’t have many of the lights on in the café last night.”

At the same time Linda got home to find Sam waiting for her int the kitchen. “Sandi is out with Daria Morgendorffer doing something,” he said.

‘Something must have come up. That’s why the car is there,’ she thought. “It seems that they are becoming friends, like she is with Harry Osborn.”

“They said that they were looking for someone.”

Linda did hear about the situation at the hospital on the way home. “Maybe,” she said. She was about to say more when she heard the front door open again. She looked and saw that Sandi and Daria where there.

‘Should I let Mother know that Sam has been eavesdropping and knows about our powers?’ Sandi wondered as she went over to the kitchen.

Naruto stares wide-eyed at the woman effortlessly balancing Karin's weight. He can guess that this is Kyoho, Karin's older sister. Karin had told him that Kyoho took more after their mom than Karin, Karin apparently looked more like their non-Uzumaki father despite having the Uzumaki coloring, but Naruto hadn't really thought about what that proclaimed difference in appearance would look like.

She- she looks like his mom. The blood-red hair, the sun-kissed skin, the wide face. The shape of her eyes and jaw, even the shape of her hands-

She looks like an Uzumaki.

And she's here.

He doesn't realize he's spoken out loud until Kyoho's expression softens and she kneels to his height as though Karin isn't clinging to her like a limpet. She's smiling, a soft curl to her lips, but there's a knowing sorrow to her blueblueblue eyes, one that speaks of pain and grief and loneliness and Naruto knows that look because he's seen it in the mirror and she knows -

And her simple affirmation that yes, she's here, and she's not leaving him makes Naruto bawl. He launches himself at her, and she catches him and doesn't let go, even when his momentum causes them all to crash into the floor and he sobs into her free shoulder, Kyoho rubbing soothing circles into his back and humming a lullaby in his ear.

Embarrassment burns when he finally pulls back from Kyoho and realizes the Hokage is right there - and Naruto wants to kick himself for not noticing, of course the Hokage would be in his office. He busies himself helping Kyoho to her feet, offering her a hand and sticking his feet to the floor so she can stand up without setting Karin down.

Kyoho bows her head to the Hokage. "Thank you, for the privacy of your office, Hokage-sama."

Naruto grimaces. Yeah, he's really glad he didn't have that breakdown in public.

The Hokage smiles. "You are welcome. I won't keep you any longer, I'm sure you all would like the chance to catch up. We can speak later about that list."

Huh? List? What list?

"Of course, Hokage-sama."

Once they are outside the Tower, Naruto voices his question. "What was he talking about?"

Kyoho shifts Karin so her sister is instead clinging to her back, shoving her hair forward over one shoulder so it doesn't get caught. Naruto's gaze catches on Kyoho's braids. The bandana and long hair hides most of the beads, but not all of them, and as Naruto peers at the beads he can see on the Widow and Hero braids-

"Naruto?"

And he completely just missed what Kyoho was saying. "Sorry! Could you say that again?"

Over Kyoho's shoulder, Karin gives him a knowing look, confirming Naruto's suspicions. He's not imagining those familiar beads.

Kyoho's smile is gentle, reassuring that she's not upset at his wandering attention. "The Hokage wants me to teach."

Naruto imagines Kyoho in his old classroom, dressed like Iruka-sensei, and feels a spark of jealously. He would have liked Kyoho as a sensei. Not that he doesn't like Iruka-sensei! But it would have been nice, learning from Kyoho those first few years. "At the Academy?"

She shakes her head. "Fuuinjutsu apprentice."

Oh. That's not so bad. "So the list is for potential students?"

Kyoho nods.

"You won't teach them anything else, though, right?" Naruto asks petulantly. It's childish of him, but Kyoho's his family. His clan. He doesn't want to have to share her yet.

Kyoho wraps an arm around his shoulders, pressing him into her side. Naruto basks in the warm feeling, like he sitting in front of the hearth, wrapped in a thick blanket. "Not unless they're Braided," she promises.

Good. Naruto takes a deep breath, trying to memorize Kyoho's scent. There's lingering traces of burnt chakra, similar to the smell that lingers on Nyx after he's been practicing his fire ninjutsu. Also like Nyx is the persistent scent of something distinctly feline, though Kyoho's scent lacks the feathers and ozone aspects Nyx's has. Underneath all that, Kyoho's scent is warm, like sunshine on a summer day, with a tang to it that reminds him of the air along Nami's shores.

Kyoho patiently lets him cling for as long as he likes. He knows they're making a spectacle of themselves, can feel the stares prickling across his skin uncomfortably. He does his best to ignore them - he refuses to feel ashamed of showing affection for his family.

Only, Kyoho sharpens beside him, and the prickly feeling abruptly disappears. When Naruto pulls back and glances around, he finds everyone studiously looking away from them.

There's a smile on Kyoho's face when she looks down at him. "Where to, cousin?"

Cousin. Naruto beams.

"You gotta meet my friends!" He declares, tugging Kyoho in the right direction. "Nyx isn't here right now, but Jun and Niko should be at the training grounds while Aoba-sensei has his one-on-one day with-"

He cuts himself off as Kyoho laughs, bright and fond and full of affection.

Naruto has family. He's not the only Uzumaki anymore.

It still feels like a dream. Don't get him wrong, Nyx is his brother and Naruto will always be grateful for him, but… Kyoho and Karin look like him.

And they want him.

No one has ever wanted him. Not immediately and without any strings attached. Naruto loves Nyx and Iruka-sensei, he really does, but even they didn't like him at first. But Karin took the chance to defect to Konoha because of Naruto, and Kyoho came too. Despite not knowing Naruto at all, just because he's family.

"You've got the Uzumaki energy." Kyoho notes fondly. "They your team?"

Naruto shakes his head, but pauses. "Kinda? Nyx and Sakura-chan are on Team 7 with me, but we're always training with Aoba-sensei's team 'cause Kakashi-sensei's kinda lame."

He's not bitter about that, really. Even though Kakashi-sensei gave that speech about not abandoning your teammates - as though Naruto or Nyx needed to be told that - he still left them to wait on him for hours every morning and then couldn't be bothered to give more than a half-hearted effort training them.

Nyx put more effort into training them. As an Academy student.

Aoba-sensei's done more to train Team 7 than their own sensei.

Kyoho hums. "Should let them know there'll be ANBU watching us."

Naruto stops dead in his tracks. "What?" Why would there be ANBU watching them?

"I've got ANBU tailing me." Kyoho says simply. On her back, Karin's stiffened in alarm, and Kyoho places a reassuring hand on her arm. "Security measure. Not watching you."

"They shouldn't be watching you either!" Naruto protests. Kyoho came here to get away from Kusa, why is she being treated like an enemy?

Kyoho sighs. Pats Karin's arm. "Go let them know we're coming?"

Karin reluctantly drops from Kyoho's back. But she hesitates, looking at Naruto before glancing deliberately back at Kyoho.

No, not Kyoho, Naruto realizes. Kyoho's braids.

He shakes his head at Karin. Better to let it be a surprise. Especially if Kyoho really is who they think she is, Naruto thinks with rising anticipation despite how upset he is.

Karin nods. "Don't take too long, nee-chan." Then she's off.

Naruto turns back to Kyoho. Kyoho inclines her head towards the trees lining the path. They aren't in the populated part of the village anymore, but the trees will offer a modicum of privacy from passersby. Naruto follows Kyoho up the tree, settling beside her on a branch about halfway up.

"Why?"

"I'm a jounin." Kyoho tells him.

Naruto scowls. He knows that, but what does that have to do with the Hokage treating her like she's an enemy?

Kyoho shakes her head, like she can sense that thought. "Jounin are dangerous, Naruto. A team of genin can take on a chuunin. A team of chuunin cannot take on a jounin." Her eyes meet his, blue dark like the ocean depths. "I've killed teams of jounin."

Naruto startles. "Really?" Kakashi-sensei had a hard enough time with Zabuza. Kyoho can fight multiple Zabuza's at once?

Cool.

"Really." Kyoho says, fond and exasperated all at once. "I'm dangerous, Naruto. The Hokage does not know me. He worries I am an assassin or infiltrator."

"But you aren't!" Kyoho's Clan. She came here for help!

Another fond smile. "You know that. I know that. Hokage-sama does not." Kyoho shrugs, looking like it's no big deal to her. "Hokage-sama has no reason to trust a foreign jounin. Of course he will take measures to protect the village. I'm glad he is taking such measures."

That brings Naruto up short, angry response dying on his tongue. "You're glad for the ANBU?"

"They're to protect you." Kyoho says. "To protect the Clan. I would do the same, were my children at risk." She rests a hand on his head and gently ruffles his hair. "It won't be forever."

Naruto sulks. But when Kyoho puts it that way… "I still don't like it."

Kyoho nods. "You don’t have to." She rises from the branch, holding her hand out to him. "Let's go meet your friends."

dorothea "dorey" mason, twenty five, code-breaker // au: at the end of the world

dorey is not nearly as much of a stick in the mud as she might appear but she does have resting bitchface and a very serious job so sometimes. but there is a war on.

dorey is a dorothea and she was raised comfortably middle class in clapham by people who were on the fringes of bohemia but went straight after having their first child, jessamine. bloomsbury turned into clapham, writing jobs turned into teaching and keeping house and as the children kept coming, the names became less bohemian. jessamine (34) was followed by caspian (33), then dorothea and then finally, exhausted, jane (23).

dorey is very glad she's not jessa or cas. dorey is enough.

dorey came along once her father had become principal of a boy's school in clapham and the only remnants of their bohemian past were a certain liberality in the education of their children and encouraging them to do whatever made them happy. jessa was and is a talented artist, cas breeds horses in ireland, jane is studying to become a doctor, and dorey does math for both fun and a living.

she was always the studious one in her family and if her parents stopped being able to make heads or tails of her math homework before she hit puberty, they were still supportive. she won a scholarship to newnham college at cambridge and holds a double first in mathematics (but no degree because fun fact cambridge didn't give those to women until 1948. no she's not holding a grudge!).

by the time she finished, the war had started and as absolutely no war jobs held much appeal to her (weak ankles, too many years in a library), she was recruited to the government code and cypher school and eventually moving to bletchley park. there were a few frustrating weeks where she was primarily doing clerical work before being assigned to hut six as a codebreaker on army and air force engima deciphering.

(and if i have to dip any deeper, i am above both my pay grade and intelligence level)

dorey is very good at her work and take a lot of pride in it. she's always enjoyed puzzles and there's nothing like the rush of breaking a code. she's been called to the war office a few times and while she knows she's not going to get any kind of major recognition for her work, the pride is what keeps her working.

make no mistake, that does not mean she's accepted it. like the denial of a full degree, the lack of recognition chafes at her. as a result, she sometimes take herself too seriously. she presents herself well, never a hair out of place and always keeps her composure. it takes a lot to ruffle her. she's determined and stubborn and does not do a task unless she can do it with her full attention.

despite all of this, she is tender deep down. she's very close to her family and stays with jessa when she's in london (clapham's too far from the war office). she keeps a steady correspondence with cas in ireland and jane in america and while she worries that she's doomed to be the maiden aunt, she knows that they'll always love her. she can be sweet and thoughtful when she isn't in her head but until the war is over: she's got work to do and that comes first always.

i might have talked about it before but i kinda wanna rant a lil how nonsensical both the "getting of the time reversal" and "giving zelda the mastersword" things are

bc ... to get the time reversal powers you touch a ... ghost of the enigma stone that used to be there .. and i GUESS it was the one zelda has now but used to be raurus and since its now linked to her we get .... link being astral projected into ghosty dimension similar to the other sages and we get zeldas sage power, but .. how does that even work, zelda, having supposedly long lost her soul to being a dragon is somehow still able to do the whole sage thing of taking you to fogland mclight dimension, just doesnt tell you the same stuff the other sages do word for word (thank GOD)

but how did that even manifest? even ignoring her soul being GONE how can she make that oath or whatever while shes not awake and just floating there, what business does the ghost engima stone have there and why dont the others have something similar to where they were once stored (in the forgotten temple backrooms tm bc we cant have the sonau NOT touch a thing in this world all of the sudden-)

is it bc they were like ... released of their holder from the old sages since they had long died and those go back to being big floaty stones (for whatever reason .. shouldnt have sonias stone done the same when gan took it then??)- also zeldas ability being put into the hand ability wheel while we gotta chase down the damn sages any time you want to use one of their abilities is so unfair .. you could have made the sages usable .. but no ..

its a relatively small complaint compared to the rest but it still bothers me bc it just ... feels so contrived, like it feels to be so clearly just some loose string to get you that power

the same with the weird ass time bubble to get the mastersword back in time to zelda just so she can have a flimsy reason to do what she does (we wouldnt want the character this series is named after be an actual CHARACTER instead of a pretty prize at the end now would we??) and its jsut so .......... why not have her grab the broken master sword as shes falling into the past (SOMEHOW) or it falling down with her bc really link shouldnt maybe not be able to hold it anymore- wait he reaches for her with that hurt hand .. so he did drop it .. and it somehow got back to him instead of being put into the past WITH zelda right then and there?? why??

(also ..rauru just teleporting him to the sky island ... wasnt that arm the last bits of raurus physical body? was his ghost just chilling up there the whole time- ... can ghosts in totk control and teleport their physical, dead limbs to whereever their ghost is? why can a ghost even be so far apart from the rest of his remains .... or was that spiraling energy stuff just him slowly turning into a ghost there ... but my point about ghosts controlling their dead limbs still stands- WAIT he ALSO has to be able to ... SEE somehow bc he grabbed link before he fell too .... the way he talks when you find him chilling on the island tho is like hes seeing it all for the first time too .. so .. he wasnt a ghost yet and still knew where to go .. even tho the place is somehwere totally different to where it used to be and if he became a ghost right there why couldnt you see him when he grabbed link... if the hand that grabbed link wasnt actual the one that fell off gan why does it look like it then? bc gan hand was long and thin with long ass class and raurus actual ghost hands are barely different from typical human ones- .. i think im having more thoughts about this point thant nintendo had over the entirety of making the game .... also fuck rauru for doing the fake out "oooh noooo im fading awayyy" thing just so he doesnt have to answer any of your thousand questions i guess, only to return at the end going, "actually, i want my arm back and yours was fine anyway lol, and here sonia is here too for some reason! also check this out! zelda is back and you didnt have to do shit, isnt that cool?")

the weird time bubble makes me so angry when i remmeber it exists bc it just .. makes NO sense?? what even is it?? if it was a foreshadowing to zelda learning to use her new time powers and you find more over time in the game where she manifests mroe and more until she manages to return on her own like it was kinda teased with sonia tellign her shell find a way to use her new powers to go back since she (SOMEHOW) also got herself here and that point going nowhere like so many other points (hows it going impah, foudn a way to get zelda back yet? dont bother, turns out the solution was 'beat the bad guy' and it all solved itself) OK fine, that works

BUT ITS NOT a foreshadowing of anything, the time bubble thing is just THERE and it drives me nuts, it really only adds to this whole game feeling so weirdly held together by loose strings and it just gets worse the more you think
