one deeply frustrating thing to me about faggot* culture is that it's either complete assimilation to cishet hegemony or holds a standard of masculinity that evolved out of transmisogyny, among other things. and it's a shame because while there are gay and femme individuals that are celebrities, the average gay guy can't present femininely without facing transmisogynistic vitriol from not only the cishets, but fellow queers, despite not even being trans. this means that unlike lesbians, there's no butch/femme culture, no space for femmes among gays in the modern era. no more queens outside from drag events and balls. you can be daddy's boy but you still gotta be masculine. and because a lot of these spaces are transphobic, trans men immediately get grouped in with femininity, whether they actually are or not. god forbid you are a femme trans man. sissy is an insult among cis gays. the only acceptable femmes are twinks, and even then they have to toe the line and have to uphold some standard of masculinity. it makes me so mad. 😭

Even though I'm looking at sandals in the women's section they keep suggesting children's sandals to me and I'm once again so jealous. Most sandals for women are either ugly and probably comfortable or platforms held together by two strings and a lot of hope, while children get to wear cute but comfy looking shoes with flowers attached to them etc :(
