taps the mic. any furries here?
If yall were to assign an animal to your ocs, what would it be?
Vincent already has a strong bug association (nerd <3) so, building on that, they'd either be a blue day moth (moths are reportedly common in the neath and are also just a favourite of mine, this species in particular is the perfect colours for them) or a blue papua mantis (smart vibes TM and awkward looking, specifically blue :3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pembroke would be a borzoi! Fancy and elegant looking, but still a hunting dog >:) Pretty but vicious~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Silverstein (if not something artificial a la robot) would be one of those big but gentle dogs, though I don't have a specific breed in mind. Would be a guard dog if you asked but is mostly content to just sit <3

Kink taxonomy hell makes me a) very glad I am ace & don't have to deal with these problems & b) lowkey thinking about how I'd approach running a porn production company whose entire output is like 15 minute porn shorts based on these asks. I mean, I wouldn't actually want to start a porn production company, because that would require way more start up capital & effort than it would be worth to me personally (see: ace, but also burn out re: small production companies). But, see, I do work in the production industry at a small production company on the non-porn side of things (we make stuff for like Netflix/HBO/Hulu & shit) & often make or consult on budgets, so it's a bit of a fun thought exercise about how to approach it.
Get a core cast you can rotate through for different scenarios (6-10 ppl for cast; though actual # each day might be much lower); ideally have a studio space + production off with edit suite; aim for ~2-3 set ups each day depending on complexity/# of on-screen orgasms (goal for these is short so might not be a full scene/scenario); in-house equipment as much as possible (cameras, lights, but also build up a sex/prop repository that can be resued); two-camera; relatively small crew, -- Director, producer, AP, DP, A/C, sound, gaffer, DIT (can be the AE), safery coordinator, PA x2, HMU+asst, wardrobe + props + art dept float -- so ~16 set crew, plus on the post/in-house side you'll need: editor x2, production accountant, AE (can be the same person as DIT), post super. Plus then unlike the companies I work at you'd want probably a marketing person & web dev.
Schedule would look something like: 3 weeks prep // 2 wks shoot w/ goal of getting material for ~24 shorts // 8 wks edit to get through all material (could start posting scenes finished sooner before all scenes are edited, obvs; this is assuming 3 edit days per 15 min short on average, but it all depends on how complex you want to get with the edit; if it's just 15 minutes of one shot getting played out with a few cut aways, then edit time could get cut down by a lot. But I'm assuming some stuff is going to get more complex edits; it also might work better to have three editors going so that edit time & prep+shoot time are roughly equal)
The issue here is that, ok, start up costs to get gear, etc will always be high, so setting those aside for the moment but overhead costs + staffing costs are going to get pricey. Granted, I don't know what the going rates are for folks either behind or in front of the camera in porn, but I do know the going rates outside of porn & I also know what I think are fair rates for these positions / what I would want to pay people. So imo for a single shoot day, you're looking at well over $10k for labor alone. All in, with what I described, my slapdash back of the envelope math says you're looking at $350,000+ in labor costs for the whole shebang & that's before fringe (je refuse to 1099 everyone; that way lies audits by the irs), equipment, overhead, etc. Easily I can imagine a half million dollar budget here in total.
& I guess that's where I start stalling out, because I know how to set up a shoot, get insurance, have legal buttoned up, but there's so much free porn out there that breaking even, much less monetizing it!, seems even harder than non-porn stuff these days. (& that's a struggle too! A huge part of why I'm burned out.) I mean, even if people like, pay to have their prompt included, folks aren't going to want to pay THAT much to cover costs. I guess aiming for lots of subscription fees on different platforms? But that's a lot of marketing elbow grease & takes time to build up, making starting capital essential. The stuff I'm familar with wrt indie filmmaking -- grants or corporate sponsors -- seem less likely for porn. & sure I could cut corners in my hypothetical budget, find savings, pay people less (ugh), but like, no. Maybe if I actually watched porn I'd know more about how it makes money, but that's a bridge too far.
Anyway, the government should give us all free money to pursue making art, even (especially?) when that art is porn. Or something.
there's nothing i can add to this, really

Often when I step out of the safe space of like the 2-3 people I’ve gotten to know in the Kimchay fandom, I remember that there are people who actually don’t like either of these two characters, and consider their part of the story unnecessary.
And that got me thinking: Chay not being liked is understandable; he’s a teenager in a story very much filled with more mature topics, and between his issue of trying to get into uni vs Porsche’s growing concern of trying not to get Kinn or himself shot, the school thing seems almost petty and inconsequential (it isn’t, but I digress). It’s meant to be seen (imo) as endearing and something to balance out the other two love stories, but I can see why it could also be seen as annoying, yknow?
Chay probably reminds a lot of the audience of their own naïveté growing up, and it’s not always easy looking at a mirror.
Having said that, with Kim I feel like it’s a different story. First and foremost, I’ve had to ask myself: is Kim even meant to be liked as a character? Lol For that matter, are any of the Theerapanyakuls meant to be sympathized with, or is this narrative—when reframed differently—is more a story of the audience witnessing a good man eventually become a “villain”?
And for what it’s worth, I don’t think there’s any right or wrong answer! For me personally, I just think there’s some interesting conversation to be had about how BOC intended for these characters to be viewed, if they had any specific intention to begin with. Audience reception is a wayward, fickle thing, so I don’t think it’s a bad exercise to think on how/if BOC and Daemi had anything particularly in mind when they wrote KimChay’s story, yknow?
Because I will admit, there are definitely story choices in retrospect that at first seem like they’re trying to tell the audience one thing, but if we think about the implications of said thing, it may also mean something entirely different; there’s just a lot more depth to it than meets the eye.
Case in point: Kim’s ongoing sleuthing in the show. It’s a well known fandom joke that Kim is a comically bad detective—or at the very least, seems like he’s only ever fast enough to trail after the crumbs Korn left behind in weaving his complicated web.
So this scenario brings into question(s) of what the story is trying to say vs the audience’s reception of that story choice: is Kim a poor sleuth or was Korn actively trying to sabotage his investigation? Is Kim genuinely an inept detective, or him being seen as an inept detective was never the point, because his sleuthing was meant to be the vehicle which allowed him to meet and get to know Chay?
Kim was never meant to succeed in his sleuthing, his purpose was to be a victim of his own folly, in that he fell in love with someone he had intended to use as a source of information. If you think about it, I’d argue that Kinn and Vegas go through a similar trajectory also.
And what does this imply about the Theerapanyakul family as a whole? In the show, the Theerapanyakuls have a very strong ‘us vs them’ mentality, but Kim struggling to find the connection between his family and the Kittisawasds as the reason for why Korn chose to hire a stranger from completely out of left field, feels like an antithesis to the ‘us vs them’ sentiment, no? Like, I get the fact that it’s all meant to encourage competition amongst them and all that, but I’ve always taken that to be between the Main Family and the Minor Family, lmao!
What’s the purpose of Korn sowing discord amongst his own sons (by way of him not giving the information up to his own children), if not to encourage competition amongst them too?
And if that were the case, can we really say Kim is a bad sleuth, when compared to Kinn and Tankhun—who didn’t even question their father’s actions to begin with?
Idk, I just think it’s a fun little rabbit hole to dwell in~

top 5 dc writers & top 5 dick grayson writers pretty plssss
i feel like this q has to come with a big * beside each name because most of these writers have written twice as many terrible comics as they have good. like chuck dixon is a foundational writer for dick (and tim and connor) and he’s also a violent turbo-fascist who’s made the industry indescribably more toxic. devin grayson’s run on nightwing 1996 is an exercise in her weird racist fetish, but she also wrote for titans 1999, one of the better fab 5 comics. grant morrison wrote batman and robin 2009, and irreversibly butchered the popular interpretation of talia al ghul, etc.
so take these with a grain of salt —
1. mark waid — this should be obvious imo. there’s really no competition. the writing (for dick in specific) in worlds finest blows everything else out of the water rn. he can balance large casts well, his version of the titans was fun, he has an obvious knowledge of comic canon. i wish he’d pick up the ongoing nightwing solo and give back dick’s personality.
2. kelley puckett - unironically wrote the best run of all time. no one has done it like him before or since. i need him to come back and write for cass again (or damian). would love to see him write the dick + damian + talia dynamic.
3. scott snyder — this man wrote black mirror (the best dickbats story) and court of owls (which ruined everything). he's three dimensional. he is my enemy. he is not allowed to worldbuild unsupervised.
4. greg rucka — i met him at a con once and he was a very chill dude. he's an ally. he's always wearing a hat. no man's land, u will always be famous.
5. judd winick — this man either writes something that changes the status quo (utrh) or one of the worst books ever (titans 2008). no inbetween. he's a freak. he wants tim drake and kon-el to kiss. honorary ment for being another guy that ruined talia. he does get points for writing outsiders (2003).
also a shoutout to jeff lemire and amy wolfram

i saw your comment about mullein, and wanted to see if you might share how often you drink mullein tea, vs how much you smoke. my wife is a daily smoker with asthma and has been dealing with increased coughing recently and is looking for solutions. (i know dosage is very ymmv but just to get an idea)
I mostly vape rn but I've been a solidly 1pack/day smoker for years. I'm actually pretty bad at keeping up medicine habits for myself consistently so my relationship to mullein has been a pretty on/off affair-- starting to feel super crappy about smoking is a good reminder to cut back and be more diligent about mullein and breathing exercises for a while, lol. I roll my own so I've smoked mullein more than any other route bc it's easier to just add to my existing habits that way; just rolling it into the middle of tobacco cigarettes like a spliff. Sometimes ppl smoke it on its own as an alternative but it's a very light, acidic smoke that just doesn't hit the spot for me.
Imo the ideal course of action is to use it every day, unless a person has a weird reaction to it or finds it unpleasant. (I've never heard of negative reactions, just always good to stress that people should stop doing things that suck/feel weird ASAP and seek informed support if any weird symptoms dont subside within a day or two, are exceptionally miserable, or come on very quickly and intensely). Second most ideal option is to use it daily for as long as is sustainable, and get back into it whenever it feels like particularly wanted support.
Mullein at an effective dose should have a pronounced, but not unpleasant effect in moderate to heavy smokers, or people experiencing acute respiratory illness that is appropriate for home care, within 24-48 hours of starting a regimen, or sooner. Coughs should be non-hacking but produce flem & active heavy to moderare smokers should expect to see small amounts of brown to black matter in their phlegm, but NOT phlegm that is entirely black or bloody (*again, never heard of this happening i just would never want to set someone up to cough up blood and not immediately seek higher care). If I were setting up a tea habit, my ideal scenario would be to pour boiling water over ~2-3 tablespoons of dried mullein or about a tablespoon and a half mashed up fresh*, cover it, and let it sit overnight before drinking in the morning. If there weren't results within two days, id go for about double that.
*usually with herbs you use less dried than fresh because most of the volume & weight of plants and other living things is water; however, mullein is a bit of an odd one. It's a super fluffy absorbent plant that actually compresses a lot more when it's fresh than it does dried
Another fun thing we can do with mullein is combine it with what we'd call a "lung affinity aromatic". These are herbs with volatile compounds (you can smell them easily and they're rich in essential oil) that have a history of use for lung complaints. These are usually chalked up to bronchodillation but imma keep it 100 i rlly dont feel like going thru rn and deciding if i think this is scientifically true for each one, this is not knowledge i have off the top of my head, so we'll just say for rn that theres precedented use for this purpose, i like them, and rhe ones i have to list rn are nontoxic anyway so 🤷 The most easily accessible lung affinity aromatic to add to a tea habit is probably peppermint-- id go for 2 teabags added to the above method, personally. Other lung affinity aromatics include: rosemary, oregano, other mentha species, probably monarda and basil if id have to take a wild stab based on crossover constituent chemicals but dont quote me
Lung affinity aromatics are often used as steams, particularly in essential oil forms in shit like shower fizzies. Definitely something I & my community members were doing during early early covid (again, NO MEDS YET, just ventillators and not enough of them in the city!) to try to get our O2% back up before deciding it was time to go to the ER was hot steamy showers with a good dose of peppermint or oregano oil on an adjacent damp washcloth. Nobody in the cohort that was trading this tip around ever ended up looking bad enough to go into the ER, even with some scary oxygen dips--but of course I simply can't know how it would've shaken down in the world we weren't using this method, maybe we were fine the whole time 🤷
Last thing, mostly covering my own ass: when i see clients who take prescription medications, it's important for me legally and ethically to encourage them to speak to their prescribing physicians about herbs or supplements they're considering taking. However, im also aware that many medical doctors are sorely underinformed and frankly fucking boneheaded about herbalism or diy remedies that may be popular among their patients and are thus not necessarily the level-headed and well-rounded resources we might wish them to be. I'm not familiar with any particular interaction concerns associated with mullein or any of the culinary herbs mentioned, and they're some of the most widely used herbs in the anglosphere so we'd hope that if there were something horribly dangerous about using them alongside the pharmacuetical medications prescribed for the conditions they're commonly associated with, we would have noticed by now. Still, it's always a good idea to independently research possible interactions with any and all applicable prescription medications, and of course quit at the first sign of weirdness.
Under the cut is a rant about asthma cigarettes for anyone who's interested because I think they're neat and they're very badly understood
A popularly derided product in 20th century commercial medicines is "asthma cigarettes". Contrary to what many assume at first glance, these did not actually contain tobacco, but were made from a variety of herbs including mullein, peppermint, oregano, as well as lobelia and/or jimson weed (datura). Now, dont quote me here, but im pretty sure lobelia in this context functions as basically mullein on steroids. Lobelia when taken orally is a "purgative" (makes you puke and shit, a lot), which is an action very popular in "heroic medicine", a western school of thought thats mostly been left on the trash heap (though much smaller doses of lobelia remain in use in a variety of Indigenous healing traditions as well as by some eleclectic and bioregional western herbalists. I dont know much about these yses but from a distance they seem reasonable enough to me and ppl i trust like it as a plant). However, im fairly certain that lobelia has this action due to at least in part saponin content, which tend to be expectorant. Mullein also has saponins but not enough to cause such dramatic reactions, even in quite high doses. As for jimson weed (datura), I got nothing, beyond knowing it's been historically and traditionally used for asthma in many contexts. Presumably it's a pretty low-dose thing, i kinda doubt ppl were out here getting high on fucking datura on purpose when they could get cocaine from the same pharmacist, it's kinda a gnarly one. More an ethogen than recreational for sure. Anyway, asthma cigarettes were also never intended to be smoked like tobacco cigarettes, definitely a one-a-day kind of deal. While we know that smoke of *any* variety is bad for your lungs and carcinogenic, prior to the advent of aersolized steroid inhalers, smoking could be considered a pretty reasonable route of administration for antispasmodic, bronchodialating and expectorant medicines (at a time when even the vast majority of newfangled lab pharmacueticals were more directly plant-derived than they are today); and at least in terms of ***immediate short term benefits***, probably the medicine contained within asthma cigarettes outweighed the smoke damage. I can't speak to long term effects of smoking any of these herbs because I dont believe it's been particularly studied. P cool tho.

Hello, Anya!
I missed so much stuff, how are you doing right now? Are the new prosthetics comfortable to use? Both of you are actually getting discharged so soon, wow. You've made such an amazing progress in terms of recovery, cheering on you always :)
By the way, there are often some birds behind my window. Usually it's crows and tits (gonna forever love their english name), occasionally some sparrows. I don't really hear them singing but it's fun to watch them chilling or jumping from branch to branch. I'm not even a fan of birds but seeing them always fills me with joy. I'll describe one of my favourite videos since you seem to be very fond of birdfolk: 3 tits are sitting on the branches of a naked tree, it takes each one 3-5 seconds before changing positions. On the third jump 2 of them turn to look into camera for a couple of seconds before turning back. Then 2 tits fly away but one remains, curiously turning her head to the root of the tree, to the opposite building and to my window.
Also heard you and Curly are moving in together. Having a close one as a roommate is nice imo. Raising imaginary toast to the new good memories for you.
With love,
- Alexandra
My hands are very easy and comfortable. They get sore on occasion but I think a lot of that is just having to build up a tolerance. I'm doing the exercises with them, however.
My legs are a bit of a different story.. I mean, they aren't.. Bad. I suppose. I'm just very unbalanced at the moment and my strength is.. Very poor, admittedly.
It'll take time, I'll be okay eventually.
I wish I could watch the birds outside my window.. I keep getting told there's a bird feeder, I've made Curly sit with me and describe the birds as often as I can feasibly make him do.. Maybe he'll keep describing birds for me when we leave.
Thank you for your kind words, Alexandra.
With Love, Anya

intrigued by Recency Bias (from the WIP tag game) :3
Delighted by the fact that I got two asks for Recency Bias :D Ty for the ask!!
(Referencing this ask meme)
The Elevator Pitch for Recency Bias is that it is a look at the s9 Ren The King arc, but make it cyberpunk! I'm having a lot of fun with some very experimental (for me) writing techniques.
I am (not-so-secretly) a huge sucker for dystopian fiction, but my favorite thought exercise is always what happens next? What happens after the Tyrannical Government is overthrown and the rebellion takes their place? What happens to the people on the streets, whose entire lives have been upended and now have to adapt to a different political structure or, sometimes even an entirely different way of life?
So Recency Bias is that thought exercise taken to the logical extreme, complete with a bunch of cyberpunk bells and whistles. It's a Gem-centric story, and the main pairing focus is going to be Gem/Etho, with a heavy dose of platonic soup group shenanigans. The original working title for it was "Campbell's Rebellion."
Hilariously, I had one of Gem's subplots being street racing for extra money long before Wild Life aired, but Wild Life is what convinced me to make Joel a bigger part of the plot. Originally he wasn't in it at all, having not been a Hermit in s9, but... I mean, come on, I had to have the Family, right?
Under the cut is the snippet I call my "history lesson," aka the rundown of the original rebellion from the aforementioned dystopia, that eventually became the King's Court. It's mostly to keep me on track and jog my memory when needed, but imo it's also just fun!
After a brutal, bloody civil war, the United States of America found itself shattered, with no hope of a democratic revival. Fear of foreign powers swooping in to lay claim to the Land of Opportunity was at an all-time high, but someone else beat them to it. No one should have been afraid of foreign aid, not when the call was coming from inside the house.
Five corporations with a vested interest in expansion and the sudden lack of governmental oversight put themselves in the forefront of aid campaigns. Before the citizenry knew what to fear, the nation was again divided not by war or differing politics, but by the pursuit of the Almighty Dollar.
For over two centuries, technological innovation and rampant cost-cutting initiatives have led to a landscape that is nigh unrecognizable. Cars flew, goggles halted any advertisement and community initiative not sanctioned by the Corporation in charge of that district, and people were not a collective, not a unit… they were units, no better than the machines that tracked their workflow.
Until, that is, a group of folks from across districts discovered a glitch in their awareness–each other. Together, this disgruntled band of misfits: Cleo, Bdubs, Cub, Ren, and Etho realized how important community was, and how far they were willing to go to protect what they had discovered.
Together, they rallied the populace and set to work creating a new way of life, and, they hoped, a better one.
Unfortunately, change can be slow when you take care to ensure the safety of your subjects, and anti-competition software wasn't the only thing that the corporations were using to keep the populace in line.
Perhaps there was an underlying reason that there hadn't, in all that time, been another rebellion. And maybe it's too late now to start wondering.

with the experience you have now, what is something you usually do when you feel the creative block so bad that it makes you want to drop all your writing during an indeterminate period of time? (Not considering talking to someone because i don't have friends with the same interests as me)
Lately i have been writing consistently but now i am in a point between the overwhelming need to keep creating and the suffocating need to just stop. the last time this happened not a single word was written in over a year xd
oh and im so in love with your writing btw <3
thank you and i'm sorry to hear you're struggling with a creative block, i know the feeling all too well. (there's a span of years between 2013 and 2016 where i didn't write at all.)
while a little break does do good, i know the threshold to getting back to it becomes so high it feels insurmountable. but it sounds like you need to replenish the well, as i like to call it. think of your writing as a well you draw from, and it needs a steady supply of water to be able to sustain you dipping into it for the power and inspiration to keep going. feeding it involves engaging in texts in a different way. for me, that's reading, and a lot. i sometimes feel so parched i have to steamroll thru ten books before i feel like i have it balanced again.
i've made some posts beforehand on how to approach reading as a writer (wish i'd tagged them better), but it boils down to:
make lists of beautiful words and sentences that you like; could you emulate them? could you write them in your style?
how do the writers pull off the tricks you struggle with? for me this is knowing when to just move the scene along, or how to showcase that time has passed. (i did a whole study on this from my fave books and it boiled down to just writing "A day later/Weeks down the line/Three months passed before she/It didn't take more than forty-five minutes to get across town but it felt like moving backwards through time" which was fun to learn)
just reading for fun. cannot be understated. sometimes you just need to be pulled into a story and feel too dazzled to stop and think to be reminded of how delicious writing feels
and yes, this goes for mangas, comics, scripts, movies, tv shows, even game writing imo (visual novels are great fun for how they do dialogue and emotional appeal).
another thing to not lose touch with the writing as a practice but maybe take a little breather from the project is to start a journal. i like this one a lot personally, there's the concept of morning pages where you get up in the morning and write three pages without stopping or overthinking.
this leads into automatic writing, which is about setting a timer (25 mins is a good one i feel, but even 15-10-5 does wonders) and while it ticks, you have to keep writing. yes, even if all you write is the same word over and over, or your thoughts as they come to you. this is a key component exercise at all writing schools i've ever gone to. personally i like to "guide it" so to speak with a prompt, be it a word (Lust, Rose, Name, Echo) or a full sentence ("She didn't like where this was going.") or an image. what this exercise teaches you is to shorten the distance between hand putting the words down and your thoughts as they process and come to you, as well as embracing writing messy and ugly and shitty because you can always come back and fix a half-assed page, but you can't do anything with a blank one.
third and final thing: movement. go outside. look around. if you can, get moving, take in the surroundings. there's no expectation on you to write anything from this, just let the movement and your thoughts be it. whenever i hit creative rut, i go for a walk. the first half hour my brain is quiet and annoyed. then things start moving in there as well. i'll walk all the way down to the sea and look at the waves and back home and process an idea from it. (i do keep the notes app on my phone readily available for this, but a notebook or receipt or post-it notes also work fine.)
like all art, writing is a practice and the actual act of writing is maybe 20-30% of what it is. nourish the well and it will nourish you back.
+ for what it's worth, i also often try to edge in rest days where i don't write. at least two a week. be gentle and forgiving on yourself.

i used to go here a while back even though i wasn’t rlly a proper larrie (complicated lol). at one point i started talking mad shit about them and everyone hated me only for me to come back and see how different people move now. womp womp :/ i genuinely feel like everyone dislikes them a teeny tiny bit, it’s weird to see. back then it was a big deal if you got away with a tad bit of criticism and anyone who was proper bitter was ousted into a small corner of this site where they stayed bitter with their anons. and it was also like 3 people. now im checking random blogs and literally everyone has some shady thing to say. DESERVED tbh. leaving before I say more. sorry if this is annoying or unnecessary. i just wanted to say it 😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️
I mean… if you’ve been following closer, they have been clearly very hard on larries for a while. Take Harry for example. This past summer he made his life purpose to destroy all things larries used as… something lol blue bandana? Here, X*nder have it. Sweet creature? It’s for Gemma and he said it in front of 90K people which was very humiliating imo. Umbro shirt? Listen, he’ll have it for a pap walk he will have to promote his brand and yall like bluegreen nail polish. And the last one, the one people willingly ignore, he has O*ivia name tattooed on his INNER THIGH. I dont think it gets worse than this lol do I even have to mention the biking sessions to promote a theatre play or…?
Louis has been a dickhead on twitter since he was in the band. Yesterday he was even more of a dickhead than he used to. If he wants to be the third Gallagher brother he should be asking them first. He was unnecessarily rude with everyone and with the chicken parmesan thing he showed to me he doesn’t even read the tweets or whatever issue with reading comprehension he has going on.
The good thing about social media instead of live or interviews is that you can take your time to write down some articulated response and that you happen to choose what you reply to.
He announced he was going to do this thing 24 hours prior, went online and treated everyone with sufficiency. Totally unprovoked. Can you see how prepared this was? That makes it even worse because he is acting like this on purpose and everyone knows it. Like what’s the point of doing that speech on stage everyone gets so emotional for if you go online and bicker with your fans? They’re not taken for granted when they buy your tickets, but when they tweet constantly about you and keep you relevant on social they’re? This tells a lot to me.
The problem is he wants to deny what he created (he mentioned the recipe even for walls promo) but he puts a target on larries’ back as always, because his fans can be unreasonably nasty and the pop world hates larries already they don’t waste a minute to start alienating them, insult them and bully them out of the safe space they have created for themselves. It’s the marketing they have chosen, their propaganda.
It’s weird when accounts with huge following interact with this part of fandom, because they never do it to “protect” them. We’re talking about a loud, mostly queer and young side of his fandom I wonder what would happen if larries finally decided to turn their backs at them (which I encourage to do). Yes, there still might be a target on them but at least it wouldn’t be like that. I’m pretty out of the fandom, barely talk about them but I still follow some blogs so I know a few things. I’ve realised I’m not comfortable anymore here. I still want to write a few stories because it’s fun and I like the exercise but that’s going to be it.

What kinds of martial arts/fighting do you do? I've always been interested in stuff like that but I'm really short and petite. It doesn't seem possible for me to do.
haha, you’ve come to the right place. i’m 5’3 (160cm) and at my highest ever weight right now, a whopping 115lb (about 52kg). ive been training for over a decade now and competing/teaching almost as long so I’m Your Guy lol
i started with brazilian jiujitsu when i was thirteen. i thought it would be fun and i wanted to strengthen my heart and lungs, as i was a frail victorian waif with pots and asthma. started with once a week, fell in love, and soon was clocking in an hour or two five days a week. i exclusively trained and competed in bjj for 3-4years before i decided i was done being bad at standup fighting so i added in muay thai. fell in love with that too. competed in a couple national tournaments and took third and second. post-covid, hopped into boxing. my most impressive achievements are on that stage imo, having taken gold and silver in two regional tournaments last year (gold/silver match was against the same opponent both times! so i guess that makes us even…) just recently started seriously building my standing-grappling game (which is still weak rip) by adding in freestyle wrestling and judo. i train and spar mma regularly, but have not competed under that ruleset.
so to answer your question: i do a little bit of everything.
some advice from a small but determined combat athlete:
1. being smaller than your training partners and opponents is frustrating. it is disheartening. people will get away with doing shit that is objectively bad and wrong on you because they can brute force it. it’s not because you aren’t good enough. there are also ways to mitigate this:
2. as a small person, your assets will be precise technique, accurate timing, agility, and endurance. because you are small, you will naturally be more technically competent. if you do something wrong against someone bigger than you, it simply won’t work. thus, you will have more incentive to do it right! once you build up to a consistent training schedule, you will have better movement and endurance than a bigger person because you simply have less weight to move. ergo, moving yourself is an easier task. use this to your advantage. wether the storm until big boy gets tired and then tool him around👍
3. this applies to exercise in general and i cannot stress it enough: do not go hard at first. do not jump into the deep end. start out with two classes a week. ideally 45min-1hr classes, on different days, with at least one rest day in between. your body needs time to adapt to new workloads, or else you’ll just be hurt and sore and burned out. do that until it feels easy! then bump it to four days a week, which is when you’ll start to see real technical progress.
4. establish your goals for training before you commit to anything! are you looking for fitness? competition? self-defense? or are you just trying to have fun? each sport offers different benefits and potential drawbacks. i’d be happy to elaborate more on that if you wish. feel free to ask about whatever you’re interested in and i can recommend what to look for :3
combat sports is half my personality and the entirety of my irl social life nowadays. 10/10 would do again despite mild ouchie and being tired a lot

hi t!! sorry i just phase in and out of existence lol. wishing you a week as wonderful as you <3 what's something cool that's happened lately? also, what's ur writing process like?
Hihi, you've nothing to apologize for! 💖 I'm always happy when you phase in again, and totally understand that #life is a thing lol.
I recently started projecting a 5.11a lead climb 💪🏽 (and took a huge whip aka fall on it 😳 — very fun hehe), so that's pretty cool. 😁 I'm also fiiinally going to start managing my new store (not my store as in owner, but "my" as in manager of it) tmro !! 🥳
Sending you wonderful Wednesday vibes; hope things've been gentler toward you lately. 💞
Continue below for my writing process... 🤓
My writing process varies, but—for me—it all starts @ the point of inspo.
Sometimes inspo hits me like a truck, and the story simply flows until it exhausts itself i.e. a hug (or, a thousand words too painful to say, but too precious to be left unspoken). Other times, inspo trickles like a nearly depleted stream, and writing feels like wiggling a baby tooth from dawn till dusk, trying desperately (and tiredly) to pull it out i.e. NSFW Alphabet — Himejima Gyomei — I've been writing basically a letter a day, and am ~halfway finished.
As an occasional dabbler in playwriting, dialogue is def a stronger aspect of my writing, and I often outline scenes by their dialogue rather than their physical/emotional aspects. However, sometimes I write the other way around!
For instance, I started a hug (or, a thousand words too painful to say, but too precious to be left unspoken) w/ poignant imagery (the first paragraph) that drove the rest of its plot, but for i hear your heart, feel your soul, see your body; i love you, I actually wrote literally all the dialogue first, and then slowly pieced the rest of the scene together.
I've found that 500-2,000 words tends to be my preferred length of writing, so anything 2,000+ means either a. inspo hit me like a truck (for one shots) or b. it's headcanons/preferences, so it's really just a ton of shorter works strung together into a ~technically longer piece. I can't exactly speak on the process of writing longer works, bc they're just not my instinctive style.
That being said, when writing something 2,000+, I find myself only writing the most important moments to inform the entirety of the plot — otherwise I get overwhelmed/lose steam.
I suspect I float around 500-2,000 words bc I strongly dislike revisiting unfinished works. 😅 If I can't write it all in one sitting, then I (generally) don't want to write it! 😝
Imo, the most important thing about a writing process is that it works for and serves the writer. Ofc, professional/reknowned writers have their own recommendations, processes, "do this!", "never do this!", but discovering my own needs and boundaries has been the most helpful for me.
A deep love and desire to write, along with the ~somewhat consistent time and availability to write, are ultimately the basis of my writing process. No, I don't wake up at 5am every day to write; no, I don't do many quick write exercises; no, I don't consciously implement challenges to better my writing; but yes I love writing, and even a sentence is better than no sentence at all. 🤓

My JLPT N1 Study Method (& Plan)
9/25/2023
As my introduction said, I'm trying to pass N1 by the next JLPT exam which is in this December! In this post, I will share how I study or prepare for N1
Books I Bought
Nihongo Sou Matome Vocabulary N1
TRY! 日本語能力試験N1
GO! JLPT N1 Grammar(Translated from Shin Kanzen Master i hate the renaming sm)
Tumblr media
They are translated into Thai.
If you want to improve your Japanese understanding, people might recommend buying the Japanese version when you are at an intermediate level. But personally, I can completely understand it better when it's explained in my mother tongue, hence the reason why I bought them (plus I'm broke)
I bought them 2 months ago!
I start with TRY! and Sou Matome by reading the vocabs first from Sou Matome, then move on to TRY! doing their exercise as much as my brain can handle, usually not over a chapter.
Here's what my notebook looks like
Tumblr media
As you can see, nothing fancy– just a pencil and a sticky note. I write words I don't or barely understand at the top of every page. As for the sticky note, it's for the words from the seventh day of Sou Matome that I can't remember their meanings. You might notice I didn't write their meanings. It's because I want to challenge myself to recall their meanings without relying on written translations.
I also READ the TRY! book in advance, so I'm always ahead of my actual exercise. Why you may ask? It came from when I read the N4 book. I always carried it everywhere because reading it was fun! So I'm trying to keep up this habit (despite taking more effort than before). When I read sample sentences, I try to translate them into Thai by myself before looking at the translations, because I want to practice my interpretation/translation skills too! (It'll definitely be useful in the future).
After finishing TRY! I will start reading GO! JLPT. Hopefully, I can finish this before the exam date.
OH! One thing I forgot to mention, I haven't done the listening exercises in TRY!. The reason is simple, it's a bit of a hassle to use a DVD player so I want to do them altogether when I am done reading GO! JLPT. I use Kanji Study (Play Store only) for studying Kanji. Right now, I'm studying secondary 3's kanjis. Believe it or not, it has been a year since I started learning secondary 3 and never managed to make progress.
Future Plans
There can be a rare case where I finish these books earlier than I expect so here's what I should do (by that, I mean you definitely should because god those books don't cover the skill adequately)
日本語能力試験 対策問題&必点整理 読解 N1 This book is incredible imo, because it explains the answers to every question which made me thoroughly understand it when I was studying for N2
Shin Kanzen Master 聴解 N1
These will be the books I borrow from my university's library. They are in Japanese too that's why I love borrowing from here! I think the CD resource can be found online because that's what I did for N2.
Lastly, if there is still time I'll take a mock exam from the official JLPT handbook.
AAAA Thank you for reading again. I will try to use this blog for archiving my knowledge and stuff like this more. See you in the next post!

OH WOW you're still awake hiii!! one more then while i have the chance. also so honored to have an entire tag now. that has to be an accomplishment. and!!! 👀 what niche rarepair pls i will bite at anything 👀👀
i cannot remember what else i was going to say so i'll just follow that too. op is sooooo friendly to multiship and rare ships because all of the characters no matter how minor are so interesting. it's fun to fling two people together as a concept and figure out how they would interact. (even not romantically even!! just two dudes would they be mortal enemies would they be chill? would they be besties for life??)
case in point! i got into op already knowing of a law ship, and after i read dressrosa, that ship solidified in my mind. but!! i caught up to op during zou :) which, in my mind, was the height of sabo/law popularity. so my first ship for sabo was actually with law! crazy how things work out. so much time has passed that i don't hardly even think about them anymore.
ohhh wait i know what i wanted to say now. favorite aus for fic?? any you would love to see in acesabo fic? if i know of any, i'll grab one for you ;)
hi!! i am in fact awake!!! i wanted to write more for my exchange fic bc ive just started recovering from been sick the past few days and havent rlly had the chance. but i ended up putting it off until like 12am LOL. under the cut again i talk . a lot.
its fun you mentioned sabolaw because. the 'pair' in question for the au is actually ichiji/sabo/law. no i dont know why my brain latched onto this. yes im still kind of obsessed with it. the social media aspect of my shipfic is a lot about ichiji & the transition from being a child star (alongside his siblings) to a more casual internet ministardom. theres court drama bullshit. theres fangirl law. all three of them are transfem. its really special to me.
also YEAH EXACTLY!!! to your rarepair thoughts. in every fandom im in im a huge sucker for rarepairs that seem like complete nonsense. throw those characters whove never met into a room and LOCK IT! not always romantically yeah but honestly its a lot easier to like . find content of niche pairs through ship names than just trying to sift through a million posts in their maintags. tumblr wise, at least. i actually have a sideblog thats been since sort of abandoned dedicated to finding as much niche rarepair content for two characters (not always with each other, just those two in general).
a fun thought exercise ive done a few times also is getting a nice randomizer of characters im familiar with for a fandom and using it to pick out a few ships to figure out how theyd interact/if i could make a shipfic out of them. sometimes they click sometimes they dont but its a fun way to explore characters imo
whats ur fav lawship nowadays if you dont mind :3? i like a looot for him ill admit but im not particularly committed to any. as with the multishipper way. and thats fair (on the sabolaw bit)... first ships dont always last super long. they sure are fun to think back too tho ^_^
my favorite aus for fic... oh god thats a tough one. i already mentioned modern aus and this ones sort of a tangent off niche topic focus's BUT. fics that are set in a specific career (especially doctor aus & lawyer aus but genuinely i just rlly like looking at niche little details of someones career.) see also hobby focused aus! like uhh. gymnastics. ice skating. just stuff like that idk. and aus that are focused around like.. movie tropes/genres. crime noir detective aus, slasher horror aus.. especially fun when theres a spin on the original tropes but when you can see how much love someone has for the og concept is when it rlly shines.
none of those are super specific tho. um. i have a soft spot for superhero aus even when theyre really bad. fantasy aus are trickier but when they hit they hit rlly nice. (trying really hard to think ummm) thats about all i can think of rn? but it is pretty late so im for sure forgetting some.
NOW. as for acesabo specifically.. first off if you have any fic ud especially recommend id love to read them regardless of the tropes/ships/whatever. but. acesabo aus.. ohhhgh. i dont know!! ive read a lot of really cute modern aus with them. and im not USUALLY into soulmate aus flat out but i could really love a good acesabo soulmate au. it just suits them. theyre both characters i enjoy seeing as cute girls quite a bit. its kind of unfortunate im not really a fan of either of them as trans guys bc there is SO MUCH transmasc ace stuff out there. sorry my guy you have my name i cant live like that. all respects to people who do like that tho! i like them nonbinary multigendering it up . sometimes transfem sometimes just.. trans. sorry this is not the point.
aus... aus... shakes my head around. OH i would LOVE to see a roleswap with them. ive thought abt that before and its kinda beautiful. i do also love a good polyship with them both! what elseeee. oh i didnt mention it earlier when we were talking tropes but political drama bullshit is soooo fucking good. for acesabo also! but im pickier with them with it bc i feel like it tends to get too whumpy/focused on misery. which isnt rlly my thing personally. gotta be a careful balance. i like aus where theyre both in the same 'group'; being both revolutionaries or both pirates or whatever.
i hope this actually answers your question lol i realize i went on a bit... but yeah. have a nice night if youre headed offline urself ^_^! ill be on for a while longer likely but i take so long to write these asks it might be pointless

hey so if i'm remembering correctly you said once on the discord that e2068 was originally a homestuck fansession idea- if you don't mind what were the characters' classpects and were they derse or prospit dreamers before this became... not a homestuck?
ok before i answer this question im gonna need everyone to abandon any concept of cringe culture still lingering in their hearts. find the part of you that says "homestuck is cringe" and just turn it off for the next 10 minutes. done? alright.
so yeah as ive admitted before on discord, the cast of earth 2068 originated from a homestuck fansession* i developed when i was a kid, first when i was 9 then reworked when i was 12. im specifying my age at the time so you understand how deep-rooted this is.
*a fansession is when you write a story in which ur ocs play the game that the plot of homestuck revolves around. its pretty fun! you develop the kind of planet theyd have, their classpects, etc, good character building exercise imo
the pre-scratch** session was composed of the 5 ARACHNID members, flynn, vermillion, violet, lucille and viridian (screw homestuck naming conventions theyre stupid), with the post-scratch** session having leon, phil, jordan, and two characters who would eventually be combined with each other when i wasnt looking to become daniya.
**dont ask what a scratch is, it basically means everyones parents get to be teenagers and play the game in a different timeline.
every session ive seen written has an even number of players, so theyd be evenly divided between derse and prospit***. i, however, had five players in each session, so either one kingdom would have more players than the other, or i had to contrive some alternative. i ended up developing a third moon kingdom for the odd player out called vidium that was teal and kinda depressing. i BROKE homestuck rules for my Original Moon Kingdom Do Not Steal.
***depending on a characters personality they would wake up on one of two magical moon kingdoms when they go to sleep, either the purple and spooky derse, or the gold and fun prospit
i actually, on occasion, write an earth 2068 au in a series of google docs in which the characters get to play the session i planned for them all those years ago, which is entirely self-indulgent and only something i work on when im tremendously bored. i dont think ill be sharing it but if i do it will only be when people stop making fun of me for liking a webcomic when i was 9 years old
and now, what youve all been waiting for, the classpects of each character- under the cut bc Long
preface: these have changed a lot since i was 9. ill be giving the current classpects ive assigned them, the same ones i use for the session i write currently when im bored. ill let you know which ones have stayed the same.
ALSO- no one who analyzes classpects agrees what each class means, because very few of them were confirmed in canon! these are all dependent on my personal interpretations, which i believe are backed by canon, but people will disagree with me on a few of these and thats ok. just please shut up about it.
FLYNN - rogue of time; prospit dreamer ("but time players are always on derse-" shut up! <3). time is the aspect of, you know, time, as well as other things, mainly death, destruction and entropy. a rogue is a passive(+) class- one who steals their aspect or steals WITH their aspect, strictly for the benefit of others. so flynn is one who steals time, or steals with time. in the very first chapter, flynn steals exotic matter, a substance specifically used for the purpose of time travel, and gives it to vermillion, the one who needs it. his role in the "operation" hinges on being able to sway the timeline to save ten billion lives- stealing time (death/destruction) with time (time travel). and on a fundamental level, flynn is a person who will always, no matter what, protect the people who need protecting from those who would harm them.
VERMILLION - mage of mind; derse dreamer. mind is the aspect of decisions and their consequences; the general concept of causality. a mage is an active(-) class, one who is gifted/inflicted with knowledge of their aspect, and due to the type of person they are, keeps that knowledge to themselves, to carry that burden so no one else has to. so a mage of mind is someone with a great understanding of causality- being the one plotting an operation to save the world via time travel requires the ability to predict the decisions other people will make, and the consequences theyll have, and this is a skill we see vermillion utilize a lot in the story (mostly in parts we havent gotten to). theyre the one who comes up with the plan, who decides what everyone else will be doing, and how that will help them, without needing to explain themselves. theyre a leader, but a difficult one, who doesnt intend on seeking feedback. verms main problem is how their emotions and insecurity in their sense of self cloud their judgement, and with heart being the aspect of emotion and the self and the antithesis to the mind aspect, it makes sense that a mind players biggest problem would be their heart.
LEON - knight of hope; prospit dreamer. hope is the aspect of positive emotion, as well as optimism and belief. in the right hands, its one of the strongest aspects. a knight is an active(-) class, one who equips themselves with their aspect in order to weaponize it. on two separate occasions, weve seen leon experience extreme anxiety or anger before immediately covering it up to appease phil; he throws up a mask to protect himself and the people he loves. this is weaponizing hope, equipping himself with his ability to see the best in a situation, and put on a happy face to keep things stable. hes a theatre major, and puts those acting skills to use whenever he can. its easy to see this as an unhealthy classpect, and it sort of is, but its real strength comes from how leon is at his most powerful, most influential, when hes guided by his love for other people, and his belief in his own ability. this is one of the few classpects that has stayed the same since leons creation!
PHIL - thief of heart; derse dreamer. as i mentioned earlier, heart is the aspect of emotions and the self. meanwhile, a thief is the active(-) counterpart to the rogue, so while the rogue steals for the sake of others, the thief steals for the sake of themselves. in multiple ways, phil steals facets of other peoples identities and emotions for himself- he steals data from peoples devices, he forces leon to kiss him (stealing leons autonomy, not allowing him to express his feelings on the matter beforehand, to enforce his own desires and emotions), he creates a dynamic with leon where he cant express what hes truly wanting or feeling, he [CHAPTER 4 SPOILERS], [CHAPTER 6 SPOILERS], etc. phils emotions and identity are such powerful forces that those of others get trampled over, stolen for himself. this doesnt make him ontologically evil, its possible that he could use this for good, if only he could just point his black hole of a personality in the right direction, and learn to turn down his ego most of the time.
JORDAN - heir of space; vidium dreamer (odd player out). space is the antithesis to time. its the aspect of, you know, space, the physical universe and its spacial dimensions, but also of creation. the heir is passive(+), and a bit of a complicated class, that boils down to inviting change in their aspect, or inviting change THROUGH their aspect. as an heir of space, jordan invites change in or through creation. theyre a creator, a roboticist, but also a collaborator with phil, so her influence isnt as direct. they thrive in a guiding position, where she doesnt have unilateral control, but has power in their ideas and words. jordan is a very good leader in a creative setting who has yet to realize this about herself.
LUCILLE - witch of light; prospit dreamer ("lucille cant be a light player she doesnt talk a lot-" shut up! <3). lucilles classpect manifests mostly in her position as the "girl in the chair." shes a witch, the active(-) counterpart to the heir, which has the ability to directly change their aspect, or bring change through it. light is the aspect of knowledge/information, fortune, and "the spotlight," and in her position in the team, lucille manages the information passed between the team, and can change who knows what with a single click. her classpect makes her someone who changes light, or brings change through it. for example, she turned fortune in the chapter 2 pleapods fight in flynns favor by imparting Gun Knowledge onto him. shes a person who helps mainly by knowing who needs to have what information. also, this is the second of the classpects that have stayed the same!
VIOLET - maid of blood; derse dreamer. blood is the aspect of bonds, friendships, ties, etc. a maid is an active(-) class, which focuses on creating and maintaining their aspect ("thats not what i think a maid is-" shuuuuut uuuuuuuup! <3). so a maid of blood is someone who creates and maintains bonds between people. this is pretty spot on for violet! we see more of this with her character later, but within the group, she has the most emotional intelligence, and is very good at resolving tension within the group and dealing with interpersonal issues. and between her and viridian, who do you think was responsible for befriending vermillion, thus creating the friend group? violet is the glue that keeps the team together.
VIRIDIAN - page of void; vidium dreamer (odd player out). void is the most fascinating aspect to me- its the antithesis to light, and is the aspect of nothingness, of secrets, uncertainty, the unknown, and irrelevance. also pumpkins. and pages are the passive(+) counterpart to the knight, so the knight equips themselves with their aspect to weaponize it, and the page equips others with their aspect. pages are by far the weakest class initially, but after a long journey of self-discovery, can unlock the greatest potential within themselves, surpassing every other class in sheer power. viridian is a confusing person that few can truly understand. he knows who he is, and is very sure of himself, but others, not so much. he has this way of barely reacting to anything that makes everything around him seem insignificant. he even specializes in quantum mechanics, a field of science literally built around not being able to know things. his greatest strength is this bubble of void surrounding him, but never swallowing him. he equips everything around him with void, but barely ever has it himself

do you have any advice for new writers? i was thinking abt writing but i have no idea where to start
hello anon! this is my second time ever giving advices i think . . . and i’m very grateful you reached out to me for something like this, even if i don’t think very highly of me as a writer lmao
but that being said, here are some things that helped and are still helping me since i started writing <3
READING A LOT
follow me alright. reading helps increasing your vocabulary, and it also helps learning phrases and how to put words together, if that makes sense. it probably helps if you’re a foreigner writing in english, which is my case, but i still believe that there are many many words that we never heard and reading anything can help us learn something new.
DRAFTS
don’t be scared to have too many drafts, unfinished work, just a phrase or even two words. it’s okay, you’re just putting down something that came to you and sure don’t want to forget.
you don’t have to finish everything all at once. this is super important if you’re writing for fun, and in the past years i used to scold me for being too slow and stopped writing for a long period of time bc i didn’t feel good enough.
remember : take your time.
LONG FICS
if you’re writing long fics (multiple chapters, etc) i recommend writing down everything about your original character (if there’s any ofc) such as basic info, backstory, what they like / dislike, etc.
not only it helps you develop a complete character, but then you can keep track of your creations, so you won’t find yourself thinking “did my oc enjoy […] or not?” for example.
it’s also super fun imo, it helps spreading your imagination and your ideas. don’t be scared to put too many details too!
GENERAL ADVICES
now, these are a couple of things i just want to say before finishing lol.
1. don’t stress too much if you think that your story is obvious or anything such, remember that you are the one writing it, so of course it sounds familiar to you.
2. if you plan to post it on tumblr / ao3 / wattpad or anything else ig, don’t look too closely to the initial amount of ppl that will interact with your work. remember that you’re mostly writing for yourself and your own enjoyment, so don’t worry too much about it. it will come any time soon and people will give you feedback and show real appreciation to your work <3 so yeah, i speak like this bc when i was younger i used to delete my stories bc very few people interacted with them and i don’t think that’s right lol.
3. if you have a close person you trust, you can ask them to read your work if you’re unsure about posting it online. maybe someone else opinion about it can help, or also hearing just a “yes, post it!” can do the difference.
4. if you don’t know where to start, you can also search for prompts online so you have a starting point and it also can be used as an exercise. it helps me whenever i’m in a writer block.
5. HAVE FUN! don’t be scared to put silly things in your stories, don’t be scared to put a plot twist, don’t be scared of trying something new! it’s your story, you’re the one writing it. i assure you that out there are people who are gonna enjoy your stuff. don’t be scared of trying to write something new for you, you can always learn something. and that’s amazing in my opinion.
that was it, anon. i hope it helps you a bit <3

I enjoy your breakdown of what's going on with SM but we differ in opinion where the music is concerned... well the stuff I've heard. I have not listened to the girl groups at SM much but I love the music everyone else has put out, even 2 baddies. I like like when groups experiment, some songs are going to not vibe with some people and some songs are but one of my favorite things about NCT and the sub units are you never what to expect. 2 Baddies is just one of those mindless fun songs to me, but for me NCT 127 are so versatile that they can make anything work. You got SuperHuman, Highway To Heaven, Favorite, 2 Baddies... they can mold into any concept imo Also I love Ay Yo and WayV's last album, the winter palace songs, etc etc... I think a change wouldn't be an awful thing but idk this seems really shitty. I know business can be cutthroat but these people are working there because of what this man Lee Sooman did to start that company and truthfully start of kpop and I just think he deserves more respect than this. This feels dirty and harsh. Another worry is SuperM. Capital seem to work closely with Lee Sooman considering how tied Mr Lee was to that project... do you think Capital will want to cut ties with a company that staged a coup? This is stressing me out lol Oh no and what if this makes some artists want to leave in solidarity with Lee Sooman??? Is that being really paranoid? Do you think Taemin would stay because I know he's close to Lee Sooman.
Also what do you think about the hoopla about Baekhyun's health and people blaming SM? They think because he was sick for 3 weeks and now eating once a day and working out a lot, that SM is to blame for not stepping in.
Always good to have a difference of opinion 😊. I think the SMCU Winter songs were outstanding tbh. I even liked the surreal painterly concept of the photos. But again, I really don't know who is behind what. Like what of Kwangya? Is that LSM or Chris Lee?
And I agree that on the surface of things, it feels like a really brutal fuck you to a man responsible for a lot of great music and careers. SM made a hell of a lot of mistakes, but they've become so artist-centric, it does seem a shame to throw the baby out with the bath water, so to speak.
Regarding SuperM and their future - Capitol Records wouldn't cut ties unless their contract was up and they no longer were interested. I don't know what the profit sharing model is with Capitol or what Capitol has agreed to do marketing/resource wise (anything?), but honestly there's not anything to worry about here. SuperM's comeback has already been announced and is likely being planned as we write on this infernal website, lol. Artists and groups are not likely to up and walk over this. I would find it very surprising. Getting out of their contracts would be too costly, and we don't even know how they feel about SM 3.0 etc. So, no need to be paranoid!
Re Baekhyun's health... I just am sooo sick of the victimization. If Baek wants to do that, he's gonna do it. Fasting is not bad for your health. As long as his meal is not actual junk food he'll be fine. And I assume he's drinking water and taking supplements. Like, fasting is actually good for your health. Why don't we let Baekhyun, an adult, decide what's best for him?
To me, all that victimisation stuff comes down to infantilizing grown men and also this pervasive, misguided savior complex. I'm sorry but men in Korea do not need to be saved from the evil mistreatment of... choosing their own diet and exercise plan? He's not 14. He's a seasoned idol. Marge from Utah isn't gonna change Korean beauty standards and deeply ingrained cultural values by crying on Twitter that SM are evil. What she will do is cause more racist journalism in the West decrying that kpop's evil dark side must be tamed. Sigh.
