Positive Surprise
Pairing: lee felix x reader
Word count: 1,3k
Tags: fluff, pregnancy
Summary: you and felix tell the boys there's a baby on the way
can be read as a standalone, but there's a part one where you find out you're pregnant; here
A week after your first ultrasound you invite the boys over for dinner and because it wasn’t unusual for you to do so, as they came over regularly to enjoy your cooking, no one suspected that something was up.
When Chan and Jeongin are the first to arrive, the table is already set, soft music is playing in the background and the smell of lasagne baking in the oven fills the house.
‘Something smells delicious,’ Chan says as he kisses your cheek in greeting. ‘Do you need any help?’
You shake your head and smile at him. ‘Nope, got it all covered Channie, go and relax.’
‘Is he sleeping?’ you whisper to Jeongin when Chan is out of ear shot. ‘He looks like he’s about to collapse.’
Jeongin sighs and pulls you in for a short hug. ‘Who knows.’
The arrival of Jisung and Minho distract you from worrying and you go through the greetings, hugs and declining help once more, ushering them towards the living room. You’ve just finished slicing up the bread and are putting the finishing touches on the salad when the last three arrive.
Once they’re all in the living room with a soda, you and Felix quickly set up the surprise you have for them. You take away the plates you already put on the table and replace them with boxes, each with a handwritten name card. You got yourself and Felix a box as well so it wouldn’t give away that the gift comes from you. Inside each box you put a personalized romper, a mug, a package of baby wipes, a package of blue and pink candies and a baby t-shirt with the Stray Kids logo.
‘You ready?’ you ask Felix when everything is in place.
You know the boys are going to be overjoyed, but nervous butterflies still fill your stomach when he nods. You interlace your fingers with his and lean up for a kiss.
‘BOYS,’ you yell. ‘Come her for a second.’
It doesn’t take long before they fill up the kitchen one by one, all of them looking curious. No one has noticed the table yet, so you just smile and point towards it.
‘Presents!!’ Jisung cheers, running around the table to find the one with his name.
Hyunjin and Jeongin follow his example, but none of them open the box yet, even though you can basically see their fingers itching to rip off the tape and look inside.
‘What’s this? Did one of our sponsors send us gifts?’ Chan asks.
You shrug and find the box with your name. ‘It got delivered this afternoon, I thought you set it up because we’re all here tonight,’ you lie, only feeling slightly guilty when you see Chan’s confused face.
‘Can we open it?’ Felix grins, playing along perfectly.
Everyone looks at Chan, and Felix winks at you. You smile back at him and bring your hands up to gently rub your belly. You weren’t showing yet, but according to the app on your phone the baby was already the size of a strawberry.
‘Okay, sure,’ Chan nods and as one everyone reaches for their box.
‘Huh?’ a surprised sound leaves Changbin’s mouth as he’s the first to rip apart the top of the box. ‘Did we get new merch?’
‘Oh this is adorable,’ Jeongin coos and he holds up the tiny t-shirt with the Stray Kids logo for everyone to see.
Gasps sound from every direction as they all agree how cute the tiny shirt is and it takes everything in you not to burst out in nervous giggles.
‘Wait,’ Seungmin yells out then.
Everyone stops to look at him and this time you do let out a giggle. Seungmin is holding the romper you had made for everyone. His says ‘My uncle is Seungmin from Stray Kids’ and there’s a little picture of his skzoo puppy underneath, looking up at the text. Everyone has one with their own name and animal.
‘What is it?’ Minho asks, not being able to see what’s on the romper.
‘Look at yours,’ Seungmin answers and then he looks at you with questioning eyes.
You giggle again and nod, spurring him into action. He drops the romper and runs around the table to envelop you in a hug just as the room bursts into chaos. There’s screaming and yelling and suddenly you're hugged and touched from all sides while question after question gets thrown at your head.
All you can do is laugh.
You laugh and laugh until you’re crying, hugging every one of the members close to you as they congratulate you. The boys feel like family to you and having them know that you and Felix have a baby on the way makes it even more real. It feels complete somehow.
When you notice Chan is crying you pull him close and cup his wet cheeks. ‘Why are you crying Channie?’
‘I’m just so happy for you guys,’ Chan sniffs, smiling through his tears. ‘We’re going to have a ninth member or actually, a tenth member.’
‘I’m not having twins,’ you grin up at him, wiping away his tears.
‘He means that you’re out ninth, silly,’ Changbin speaks up from behind you.
‘Yeah you’ve been for a while now. You’re family Y/N,’ Jeongin agrees.
‘And so will baby Lee be,’ Hyunjin adds.
‘You said so on the rompers, we’ll be their uncle,’ Minho nods.
‘The mugs say so too,’ Jisung says, holding up his mug with ‘Promoted to Uncle’ printed on the side.
‘I think Chan’s should have said Grandpa instead of Uncle,’ Seungmin grins, shoving Chan’s shoulder.
Everyone laughs at that, but you can’t help but cry along with Chan again. The love you feel from these guys is something you’ve never experienced before meeting them. You truly feel a part of their family, their bond.
Felix gently pulls you into his arms and presses a kiss on top of your head.
‘I love you guys so much,’ you cry, reaching out for the others with one hand while the other grasps onto Felix his hoodie to keep him close.
‘We love you too, Y/N,’ Minho says, taking a hold of your fingers.
All the others grab onto your hand, wrist and arm as well and for a while you just stand there, surrounded by your boys. Your family.
‘This baby is going to be so loved,’ you whisper, leaning your head against Felix's chest.
‘They already are, Angel,’ Felix smiles, kissing your temple again.
The boys all nod and hum in agreement.
‘Can I touch your belly?’ Hyunjin asks then, his voice soft and unsure as if he’s not sure he’s allowed to ask such a thing.
You giggle. ‘I’m not showing yet, Jinnie, and the baby isn’t kicking yet either. It’s too early.’
‘Oh,’ Hyunjin looks down, clearly disappointed.
‘How about this,’ you say, immediately missing his smile. ‘You’ll be the first, after Lix obviously, to know when he or she does start kicking and then you can touch my belly all you want.’
Felix huffs behind you. ‘Not all he wants, only whenever you're comfortable.’
‘He knows that,’ you say, rolling your eyes. ‘Right, Jinjin?’
Hyunjin nods, the smile back on his face.
‘What about us?’ Chan pouts. ‘We want to feel the baby kick too.’
‘And you can,’ you laugh. ‘As long as all of you will get me whatever I’m craving during this pregnancy.’
Jisung drops down on one knee, his hand still holding onto your wrist. ‘At your service my lady.’
One by one they all follow his lead, even Felix and you know then, that whatever happens, you and your little bean will be okay and loved.
a/n: there was high demand for a part 2 where they told the boys hehe so I hope you enjoyed this <3

HD Erised 2024 recs
Here are some of my favorite fics from @hd-erised 2024. Listed in alphabetical order.
All These Winding Threads by @starquestingfordrarry [35k]
The tides of Draco’s accidental magic pull him under and leave him gasping. There’s a hungry ache that sits deep in his bones, growing worse every day. Soon it’s all he’ll be, a starving skeleton clawing at its throat. He needs a solution. Unfortunately, that solution looks an awful lot like Harry Potter.
As Luck Would Have It by @sleepstxtic [12k]
In Sixth-Year, Harry and Draco both win a vial of Felix Felicis from Slughorn and, under its influence, have sex in the Room of Requirement. In the aftermath, can Draco and Harry navigate their respective roles in the war, while grappling with their burgeoning feelings for each other?
Body and Soul by Justlikewriting [22k]
When the headaches became worse and it got more and more difficult for Draco to work, he was left with no other choice but to recognise his stupid problem exactly for what it was. Even if that meant realising that the best, or perhaps even only, solution could solely come from one person: the one person he hadn’t seen for months, the one person he was still in love with. The one person who should never know. Because, clearly, Harry would never be able to give Draco what he needed anyway.
A Dragon to Call Mine by @fantalfart [24k]
Well, Harry is tired. Somewhat. He’s been The Boy Who Lived for quite a few years now—or what Harry privately likes to call himself; The Boy Whose Life Is Continuously Messed Up By External Forces or The Boy Who Can’t Take a Break or The Boy Who Gets to Keep Living Indefinitely or The Boy Who Is So Done or even The Boy Who Is, Apparently, Never Taking Time Off—and it never really gets better. Easier, yes; boring even, but never better. So, when he was about to finish his speech that morning, when a rogue dark spell was aimed at him and that dragon showed up, white scales blanketed by the sun, Harry almost grinned. Because seeing the creature felt more like finally than it did danger. — Or, Harry finds out that living with a dramatic, opinionated dragon might be everything he’s ever wished for.
Equally Cursed and Blessed by @moonflower-rose [18k]
Harry's back at Hogwarts to attempt his final year, again. This time he's sure there'll be no shenanigans. Well. Maybe there'll be a few.
In a Year’s Turning by @hoko-onchi-writes [89k]
There’s an undeniable crackle in the air. Draco knows it down to his marrow. Can never unknow it. He doesn’t have to turn to know that Harry is standing at the library entrance. The hair on the back of Draco’s neck prickles. They’ve avoided one another for nine years. Managed not to run into one another during the week of Andy’s funerary rites. They’ve glimpsed one another several times. But they never came close enough to speak. Draco’s kept to their rules for most of a decade. Letters only. Plans for Teddy. Updates on Pansy’s gardens. No references to the Christmas of 2001. Draco spares a moment to grieve that he couldn’t have put this off another nine years. Then, he turns. “Hi,” Harry says. Draco’s throat aches. “Hello. It’s been a while.” Harry quirks a smile. "I wondered where that top went." -- Or: Harry is struggling to raise Teddy by himself. Enter Draco.
Just a little liquid luck by @smehur [5k]
Draco unbuttons his cuffs and the first three buttons at the neck and pulls both his shirt and his vest up over his head. “Oh,” comes a shuddery sigh from the other side of the bed. “No, leave it,” Potter hurries to say when Draco moves to smooth his hair back into place. “It’s just. It’s. Good. Like that.” Draco smirks, though he dares not look down at himself and the expanse of the flush burning hot stamps into his flesh. Tracking the movement of Potter’s eyes, he runs a greasy finger over the thickest of his scars. “You like them, don’t you? Pervert.” Potter tosses his head back, jostling the mass of his curly fringe from his forehead. “I bet you were into scars long before you had any of your own, Malfoy.” Yes, Draco wants to say. I want to lick yours. What he says instead is, “Fuck you.” “Fuck you,” Potter echoes, putting the same pregnant emphasis on the F. Draco bites his lower lip, wrestling down the rise of euphoria. “Your turn,” he says. “Take that off.”
The Most Splendid Thing by @lqtraintracks [61k]
Star Quidditch rivals Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter become accidentally bonded. They still hate each other, but now it’s untenable to leave each other’s sides—and my, but it feels oh so good to touch. They’re either going to murder one another, or fall in love. OR: A story in which Draco finally allows himself happiness, and Harry finally learns that he deserves to be whole.
Old love don't rust by tray_la_la [20k]
“Why do you keep coming?” Malfoy asked at last. Harry mulled over the question. For a moment he debated trying to turn the tables and asking Malfoy the very same thing. But this time he didn’t want to hold back. “Because I can’t stop,” Harry said.
The Pain From an Old Wound by @citrusses [30k]
Getting hit with a mysterious blood curse is all in a day’s work for Harry Potter. Having to work with his former colleague, rival, bully, and boyfriend, is not. Harry’s not sure which is going to do him in first: the curse sucking his magic dry, or Draco Malfoy, as frustrating, condescending, and painfully attractive as he’s always been.
palindrome by @garagepaperback [25k]
“Why did you let me kiss you?” Potter smirks. “That’s not how I remember it. Why did you let me kiss you?” “I’m stuck in a time loop. You’re not going to remember, so.” Draco’s tongue drags, calcified around the words. “Why not.” Potter’s brows furrow but the smile stays undented. “That’s the best you could come up with?”
Runaway Train by iota / @sorrybutblog [18k]
Harry was already keen to figure out what’s been causing a series of disturbances in the London Underground before Draco Malfoy showed up acting suspicious. Two explosions, several very confused Muggles, and a cloud of mysterious sticky powder later, Harry and Malfoy can’t seem to keep their hands off each other. Can Harry shag his way to the answer to all of his questions? Seems unlikely, but what can a man do but try?
A Soft Place to Fall by @amomorii [142k]
When Harry arrives for his first year teaching at Hogwarts and is struck with a bizarre malignance, how on earth is he supposed to react when Draco Malfoy suddenly cares? Or; A darkness crawls out of Harry, and there's only so long he can keep it to himself.
Storm's Eye by @shiftylinguini [12k]
Harry's surprised that Draco didn't have wards up preventing mortally wounded former school mates-turned-ghosted work fellows from bursting into his house. In Harry's addled mind, this seems like a great opening line to say to Draco's gobsmacked face. He doesn't get that far, though. Or: Harry gets hurt, Draco is a vanishing alchemist who may or may not be able to save the day, but under no circumstances are either of them willing to talk about Their Feelings. Well. Maybe "mortal peril" circumstances will do it, actually.
Sub rosa by @tessacrowley [37k]
After the tragic and unexpected death of his mother, Draco Malfoy’s quiet life as Potions Master, Hogwarts professor, and Head of Slytherin gets upended—first by the manifestation of mysterious and inexplicable magic, and then by the revelation of an inheritance deliberately hidden from him his entire life.
Where Starlight Falls by @agentmoppet [33k]
The magic concealing Sirius’s Last Will and Testament doesn’t reveal the full extent of Harry’s inheritance until two years after the war. When it does, it turns out that Harry has inherited more than just the Black Family vault—he’s inherited the family’s magic, too. He just has to find it first. And he needs Draco Malfoy’s help to do it.
I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I did!

Youtiful: Another Collision Story~ Chapter 4
₊˚⊹ᰔ Pairing; Stray Kids x afab!reader
₊˚⊹ᰔ ₊˚⊹ᰔ Summary; It’s been a wonderful tour so far, spending time visiting different countries with the loves of your life. But will a sudden change ruin everything? A continuation to Collision
₊˚⊹ᰔ ₊˚⊹ᰔ ₊˚⊹ᰔ Warnings; implied afab reader (only they/them pronouns used for reader), angst, some sexual themes at points, fluff, this is still mainly a slice of life story though there will be some drama in this sequel, unplanned pregnancy, more tags to come most likely as the story progresses
In the coming weeks so many things were changing and you weren’t sure you could keep up.
The first trimester was quickly coming to an end and so was your bouts of morning sickness which you were happy for. The way your boyfriends behaved around you was changing as well, constantly checking up on you and making sure you were feeling alright and eating well. They also never passed up an opportunity to lean down and place a kiss to your slowly growing belly while you were laying down or wrapping their arms around you from behind to rest their hands over the barely there bump.
It was nice, seeing this side of them. It wasn’t that they were not loving to you before, always having been ones to shower you in affection but this was different and it melted your heart every time you’d lean against one of them as they placed gentle kisses to your cheek and neck while their hands caressed the place where your baby was growing inside you.
One thing you were a little upset by that they had insisted on the second you got back from the hospital was that they didn’t want you leaving the hotel…which meant not joining them at their shows every week. You were currently sat on the bed in Chan’s hotel room, almost in your thirteenth week of pregnancy. You were dressed in a pair of sleep shorts and one of your oldest boyfriend’s tshirts as you ran your left hand over your small bump absentmindedly while your right hand held your phone scrolling through social media as you caught up on stay’s videos from the concerts you had missed.
At first you were all smiles, watching your boys do what they love in the only capacity you could at that time until you started to read the comments, a frown finding your face as they kept coming. The hate. You had heard the rumors that had been started by your supposed abrupt absence on the tour but Minho had been quick to take your phone and turn off your comments as well as the ability for outsiders to send you direct messages. After Felix had seen the first few waves of rumors and vile messages being sent your way they were quick to act to make sure you wouldn’t have to see them yourself but there was nothing they could do about others posts.
They were saying how happy Felix looked on stage, how he must have gotten over you quickly. You felt tears well in your eyes at some of the nastier comments, wiping them away furiously before shutting your phone and deciding to search the television for something to watch instead. You hated it, somewhat, not being open about your relationship with any of the boys to their fans.
At this point their families all knew of you, and were surprisingly accepting of your relationship and the little addition you were carrying inside of you. Jeongin’s parents especially were over the moon and had already expressed their plans to spoil the new baby once it arrived. It gave you some peace but in the end you knew how important stay were to your boyfriends and you didn’t want to be the cause for any chaos amongst their fans.
As soon as you heard the door click open you jumped slightly, as if you had been caught even though you had long abandoned scrolling through the sea of hate and rumors about you and your beloved sunshine, eyes fixed on where the movie Cars played on the screen. “Hey baby, how are you feeling?” Chan’s voice called out softly, the sound of shoes being slipped off echoing in the background before soft foot steps sounded heading in your direction. His head peaked around the corner of the doorway and a wide dimpled grin broke out on his face upon seeing you all snuggled up in bed in his shirt like he had left you earlier in the day. “Hi Channie~” you spoke up, reaching for him causing the older to chuckle and take a seat on the edge of the bed. “Can’t cuddle now, baby I’m all sweaty-“ he motioned towards his body still soaked from where the others had no doubt had another water fight during their encore stage. “I can see- and smell that..shower first?” Chan smirked, reaching over to take your hand into his. “Will you join me?” You blushed, looking down at your lap as you contemplated the offer.
After learning of your condition your lovers had been hesitant to initiate anything intimate with you, the scare from weeks ago still plaguing their minds even though the doctors had said sexual activity up until the due date was perfectly safe. These days you seemed to have so much energy, and normally you would have jumped at the opportunity but your mind was still clouded with the comments you had read so you declined, giving him a peck to his cheek. “Not tonight, babe. Sorry? But hurry back so we can order food and you can tell me all about the show tonight.” You assured him, a warm smile cast his way though he could tell something is wrong. Not wanting to push it just yet, Chan rose from the spot beside you and made his way towards the bathroom after giving your forehead and soft kiss. “Okay darling, think about what you want to eat while I wash up yeah?” You nodded, going to grab your phone before he tsked at you and replaced it with his own. You should know better than to think he would let you pay while he was around.
Things went by the same as they had been for another few weeks, and before you knew it you were back in Felix’s room…back where it all began as the last time you were staying with your sunshine you had found out you were pregnant and it started you on this wild journey with the loves of your lives. Setting that into perspective it made it feel even more that things had changed as you sat on the couch curled into Felix’s side while he played games on the console he had hooked up to the tv in the tiny living room area of the hotel suite. “Felix…can I- could I talk to you about something?”
He had never paused a game so fast in his life, immediately setting the controller down before turning to give you his full attention. “What is it, Starlight? You feeling okay? Is it the baby?” You couldn’t help but giggle at his attentiveness, leaning in to peck his lips. “The baby is fine, probably sleeping since they haven’t been very active tonight.” Felix smiled softly, hand coming to rest on your bump despite your words. It had been when you were staying in Seungmin’s room the week before that you felt the first movement, the singer having broken out in sobs when you brought his hand to feel your bump and ever since the boys tried any moment they could to feel the little life showing themself inside you. “Then what about you, baby?” He hummed, picking up right away that you hadn’t confirmed that you as well were okay. “Well…I may have accidentally seen what stay have been saying about us online the other night..”
His face fell instantly, body tensing against your own as he looked into your eyes. “Star, baby…we told you not to worry about that. It’s just some stupid rumors and they will die out eventually- you know none of it is true.” You sighed, nodding as you rested your head against his shoulder. “I know…but- I just feel bad lying to them sometimes. Don’t you?” Felix’s brow furrowed, running a hand through his recently dyed hair before resting his head atop of yours. “Sometimes, yeah…but are you sure you’d be ready for them to know about us? Well- about you…like that- the attention you got when it was just speculation that we were together was already a lot to handle..could you imagine-“ you giggled a bit, leaning up to give him another kiss. “Felix, my love and my light…you know I’m ready whenever you are. All of you. It sucks that we can’t tell them about all of us but…what if the rumors never go away-“ He frowned again, cupping your face in his gentle hands before giving you a kiss to your forehead, nose, and then lips. “Star, my beautiful flower, I’ll see what o can do. I’m sorry this has been bothering you and that you had to see all that stay has been saying about you…I know it hasn’t been pretty-“ You scoffed, rolling your eyes playfully as you poked his chest. “That’s an understatement.” He rolled his eyes back before pulling you back into his arms tightly, giving you a kiss to the top of your head. “I’ll see what I can do, my love. Promise.” You beamed, resting against him for a moment before turning so that you could watch him resume his game. You trusted him with your life, so you trusted him to keep his promise to you to take care of things.
It wasn’t until a few night later at their second concert in the stop you were at that Felix kept his promise. You woke up alone, pouting a bit until you saw the message your boyfriend had left for you on a sticky note on your morning prenatal vitamins. Scribbled out in what looked like semi rushed handwriting he asked that you come to the concert that night, that he had laid out an outfit for you to wear and to be at your normal spot with their manager, Mr. Choi, there to make sure you were alright. You giggled like a school girl being asked to prom.
Quickly, you made your way into the bathroom to start getting ready as you slept in late that afternoon and with your growing midsection causing your back to ache already it tended to slow you down quite a bit.
You took your time in the shower, the warm water soothing your aching muscles. Once your fingers started pruning up you figured it was time to call it and end to your shower and made your way out with one towel wrapped around your body and another around your hair. You took your time with your makeup, getting the feeling Felix was planning something since for the past few concerts you were strictly told to stay back and rest. You would figure the father along in your pregnancy the more strict they would be on that little request but since he was asking the opposite you knew something was up. Putting the final touches on your makeup, you got dressed in the clothes Felix had left out for you. A light blue sundress with one of his zip up hoodies so you didn’t get cold once it started getting dark out. You slipped on a pair of white sneakers, wishing you could wear cuter shoes but you knew between the pregnancy and all the walking you would do at the stadium your feet would be ruined if you did. To off balance how plain the sneakers were you wore a pair of slightly frilled socks and gave yourself a look over in the mirror before nodding in approval. You looked cute, you had to admit. The sundress accentuated your bump perfectly making you a little nervous as to what everyone would say…last time they saw you there was no bump and they were under the impression you broke their sunshine, your sunshine’s heart. As you heard Mr. Choi knocking at the door you took a deep, shaky breath. It’s now or never you thought as you made your way to greet him at the door.
From the second you stepped foot on the stadium grounds you were getting looks from almost everyone you passed, your grip subconsciously tightening around Choi’s hand that held yours to help guide you through the crowds and security to your seats. “Don’t worry about them, Star. Just think about how exciting it will be to watch the kids perform after so long.” As he gave you a reassuring smile, the man helped you into your seat before taking his own beside you.
You knew he was right but you couldn’t help but look down at your lap as you heard the whispering from the stays seated around you.
The concert was amazing, as usual, you stood up for as much of it as you could though sometime during the end of the first half your little bundle of joy decided it was time to start kicking you relentlessly. Your smiled as you showed Mr. Choi with excitement as he had yet to witness the little one’s movement. You didn’t know how but you managed to make it through until the final ment, rubbing your stomach idly as you sat back in your seat to rest for a moment. The sound of your boyfriends cutting up on stage, teasing each other and their fans causing a bright smile to break out on your face until Felix brought his mic up to his lips and began speaking in his deep, somewhat serious tone.
“Stay, I know we’ve had a lot of fun tonight right?” His words were met with loud cheers and screaming until he held up a hand to silence the crowd, a cheeky smile playing on his lips. “I hate to put a damper on everyone’s energy but there is something very serious I need to share with you all.” Your eyes widened, color draining from your face. Oh no. Oh god- now?? He was going to go public about the two of you now?!
“I’m sure by now most of you know about my best friend, well besides the members…” You felt your throat going dry, hands fumbling with the cap to the water bottle Choi had brought for you halfway through the concert. “Well- Star is a little more than my best friend…and I think it’s time I share that with you all. Actually- I have a special song I’d like to dedicate to them tonight.” Suddenly your jaw dropped as you heard the familiar guitar riff start over the stadium speakers. “Oh my god…” Immediately you began tearing up, unable to process fully what was happening.
“All the fear and the fire
Of the end of the world
Happens each time a boy falls in love with a girl
Happens great, happens sweet
Happily, I'm unfazed here, too”
You are taken back to one late night chatting with Felix, before you knew who he was, before you met face to face.
“All I’m saying is Hozier is so romantic! If someone ever wanted to serenade me and chose one of his songs I think I’d propose myself!” You giggled, taking a bite of the twizzler in your hand as you heard the slightly distorted laughter from the other end of the line. “Noted. Is there a song in particular or just any Hozier song? Ya know some of them aren’t exactly romantic-“ You sat up a little straighter, curious as to why he was so interested all of a sudden. “Why? Planning on trying to woo me sometime in the future?” You teased, taking a few more bites before hearing him respond. “Hey! You’re the one who started this conversation I’m only trying to indulge you.” He laughed again, causing your heart to flutter slightly at the sound. “Well…in that case- if I had to choose…probably Wasteland baby. “
His voice was so lovely, soft and slow and you felt your heart melting at the sound as tears welled in your eyes threatening to spill at any moment. It was like a dream, one hand over your heart and the other resting gently on your bump as your rubbed soothing circles against it while the baby inside you practically did back flips hearing the familiar sound of one of their dads voices that often sang to them during nights they were giving you trouble sleeping.
“Wasteland, baby
I'm in love
I'm in love with you
That's it”
As the song ended you began wiping away your tears quickly, not even realizing that for almost the whole song you were being shown on the giant screens above the stage. When you noticed your eyes widened and you attempted to hid behind Mr. Choi who was laughing at you endearingly. “Awe look! Star’s a little shy now~” You heard Chan’s teasing voice call out and you began to blush deeply as you shook your head. You heard a chorus of ‘awe’ echo around the stadium and after a few more teasing comments the show moved on with the members pretending it was the end only to come back and perform the last few songs for the encore.
The second it was over you were out of your seat and rushing so quickly to the green room backstage that Choi had to jog to keep up with you. “You know, for a pregnant person you are pretty fast!” He called out to you, laughing as he struggled to match your pace. You burst through the green room doors and looked around until your eyes found Felix currently patting a towel to his wet hair and face from the water works that had happened at the end of the show. “You-“
The aussie smiled, holding up his hands defensively as you came over and practically threw yourself into his arms while sobbing. “I can’t believe you actually just did that! Oh my god, Felix-“ He chuckled, rubbing your back slowly before giving a kiss to the top of your head. “Did you think I would have forgotten?” He whispered, pulling back as he held your chin with one hand lifting your face so your eyes could meet. “What about the company- what about the others-“ You started, of course you were going to worry about what going public as just the two of you would mean to the others. It was then that Chan spoke up, coming up behind you to pull you from Felix and into his own arms as he placed a soft kiss to your pouting lips. “It’s alright, baby. We all had a talk about this earlier….and we decided this is what we wanted. The fans already suspected something was up between the two of you, and the fact that the world knows about you both and not us doesn’t change the fact that you and Felix are ours as well. Nothing will change how we all love each other.” He gave you a warm, reassuring smile and you couldn’t help but whimper as more tears spilled down your cheeks. “Okay but what about the company?” You reiterated, trying to stay calm as you felt the baby in you begin to kick once more at all the commotion. “We talked with the company already and they agreed…with you being pregnant it was bound to come out at some point and better to be on top of it than let the rumors blindside us.”
This was fine. Everything was fine. Right? You let your boyfriends help you down onto the couch, getting you some water as the rush to get to them finally caught up with you and your feet began screaming at you. “Here, jagi- let me give you a massage before we go?” Minho offered, taking your legs and propping them on his lap before carefully removing your shoes and socks. Hyunjin handed him a bottle of lotion and he took it with a peck to the other dancer’s lips before beginning his ministrations on your aching feet and ankles. “And you are all really okay with Felix and I getting to be official in public…?” You couldn’t help but ask one more time, glancing around the room. “Baby we are so excited for you! Sure, we wish it could be all of us….but think- how would you feel if it was two of us getting to go public but not you? Would you feel upset?” You frowned, thinking for a moment before shaking your head. “No….I guess not. I’d be so excited for you both to share your love with everyone and in some way a piece of our love with it…” Everyone smiled, coming to surround you on the couch and all place a hand over your bump. “We are in this together whether it be in public or in private. We love each other and that’s all that matters in the end.” You nodded, giving them all a kiss as Minho finished his massage and returned your socks and shoes to your feet before helping you up. “Come on, we gotta get you back to the hotel and into a warm bath so all this exercise and excitement doesn’t absolutely kill you tomorrow.” Changbin teased as he pecked your cheek and helped you out to the car out back.
In the coming days it didn’t take long for stays to point out your sudden weight gain and piece together that the reason you had been absent wasn’t because you and Felix had broken up, but because you were pregnant with his child. The wave of hate was replaced with a wave of almost endless apologies and you couldn’t help but not hold it against them. If you had been a fan in their situation you too would have been upset at such a misunderstanding, even if you don’t think you would have gone as far as to say some of the hurtful things they did…you could sympathize with them to an extent. That’s what lead you to this decision.
You were currently on your way back from your anatomy scan, having made your boyfriends wait back at the hotel as you wanted to surprise them with the gender….well- them and stays together. After careful consideration you had decided that while you all agreed to keep your baby’s life as private as possible, you wanted to share some aspects of your pregnancy with their fans as a way to let them know you accepted their apologies. You sent a quick text to one of the stage coordinators, confirming your plans for the evening as you made your way into Chan’s room to meet with your three producer boyfriends to ask for a special request.
“Youtiful…? Really-“ Han asked, raising an eyebrow at you and you nodded. “It’s the baby’s favorite song! Please? You haven’t done it yet at one of the North American stops and it would be lovely to end with. Well- before Haven of course.” You giggled, knowing at least a few of them were probably onto you but you couldn’t help that they were perceptive. “Well…okay. Anything for our babies.” Changbin cooed, pulling you into his strong arms as you whined. “There is only one baby I told you! I know I’ve gotten kinda big but that doesn’t mean there are twins-“ The rapper shook his head, kissing your cheek. “Not twins, Starlight. You and the baby are both our babies~ obviously.” You couldn’t help but laugh, tackling him the best you could while nearly sixteen weeks pregnant.
Chan watched with adoration as Han cuddled up to the both of you, peppering both your faces with kisses causing you and Changbin to burst into a fit of giggles. God, he was so in love with all of you he couldn’t handle it sometimes, he thought to himself. Texting the staff currently setting stuff up at the venue about the setlist change, then the group chat, they all started to prepare for the concert leaving you behind to rest before getting ready yourself.
It was finally happening. You were down in one of the lower sections by the isle, Choi beside you as usual, when the familiar notes of Youtiful began to play near the end of the show. It was true what you said about this being the baby’s favorite, as evidenced by the way they started kicking the minute Chan began to sing the opening lyrics to the song. You played their songs often while in the hotel room alone as your boys were off busy with work. You had read that music was good for babies development even in the womb and what better music than the songs created by their daddies? It would also help them get used to their voices, so you tended to sing along despite your lack of talent by comparison. Youtiful was one you kept going back to, the soft notes perfectly balanced like a lullaby for your little one and you imagined playing it to help them drift to sleep at night once they were finally there and in your arms.
Anticipation built inside of you as Seungmin hit his high note towards the end of the song, and just before Jisung could start the last chorus confetti shot out and began covering the whole stadium in a sea of fluttering light pink streamers. The words ‘it’s a girl’ flashed on the screens above the stage and the reaction was instant. Stays were screaming in disbelief and excitement, the boys were all crying so hard they could barely make it through the last of the song and you were beaming with pride that you were able to pull off such a large reveal without their knowledge.
Inside your growing bump you felt your little girl continue to kick, causing you to tear up as you placed your hand over the movement gently. “Oh baby girl…you are already so loved. I can’t wait to finally meet you.” You sniffled, your free hand coming to wipe the tears from your eyes as Felix came rushing off the stage towards you to hold you as you both cried, the others trailing behind him. To the world they looked like supportive band members, friends, maybe even uncles. But you all knew that they were proud fathers to the little girl you were carrying in your womb. The most adored little girl in the world, or at least in your world.
author’s note; surprise shawtaaayy~~ hehe baby stay(star? Skz? Idk working title) is a GIRL!!! I debated waiting until later for the reveal but I am so impatient sooo you get it now!! ૮꒰˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶꒱ა ₊˚ෆ happy Monday (for those of you reading this when I post and if you are in a similar timezone lol) take this as my apology for neglecting this series for so long- now to get working on the next update for GMYTMI~

Punishment time darling
They give you everything you could ever want, but crossing them is a mistake you’ll never want to make.
Hyung line, Maknae line
Stray Kids Masterlist 1.0 & 2.0
Your insights and reactions make these posts come alive. Love reblogs, comments, and all the good vibes welcome ✨
Han
Ghosting you, giving you the silent treatment—that’s Han’s specialty. He doesn’t need to yell, argue, or raise his voice; his silence is far more effective. It’s deliberate, calculated, and utterly consuming. Han knows exactly how to make you squirm, how to make your mind spiral into doubt and guilt. After all, he’s spent so much time being the perfect partner, the sweetest, most thoughtful person in your life. A sudden shift in his behavior is enough to make your entire world feel like it’s crumbling. When Han is upset, it’s not chaos that you face—it’s an eerie calm. He doesn’t reply to your texts, doesn’t meet your eyes, and acts as if you don’t even exist. At first, you might think he’s just distracted, maybe busy with something else. But the longer his silence stretches, the more uneasy you become. Han thrives on that unease. He loves the moment when panic starts to creep in, when you begin questioning every little thing. What did you do wrong? Did you hurt him? “Han, please, talk to me,” you plead one day, your voice trembling with desperation. He glances at you briefly, a flicker of something dark in his eyes, before turning away without a word. That single look says everything: you’ve disappointed him, and now you’re going to pay for it.
For Han, this isn’t just punishment—it’s a game. He’s a master of control, and his silence is his favorite weapon. He knows how to create a void that only he can fill, making you desperate for his attention, his approval, his love. The more he pulls away, the more you scramble to win him back, playing right into his hands. Days pass, and his sweet, doting persona feels like a distant memory. The warmth that once made you feel safe is replaced by a chilling detachment. You try everything to get him to respond—a heartfelt apology, small gestures of affection—but nothing works. That’s exactly what he wants. Han relishes your helplessness, watching you crumble under the weight of his absence. Finally, when you’re on the verge of breaking, he speaks. His voice is soft, almost kind, but there’s no mistaking the menace beneath his words. “You think I’m being cruel? No, love, this is what happens when you forget your place. I give you everything, and you repay me by disobeying? How ungrateful.” Then he leans in, his smile chillingly sweet. “Don’t make me do this again. You wouldn’t like what I’m capable of.” Just like that, you’re reminded that Han’s control over you is absolute, leaving you no choice but to obey.
Felix
Felix greets you with a smile as bright as sunshine, his voice gentle and soothing. “It’s okay, love. Mistakes happen. Just make sure you don’t do it again,” he says, his tone full of warmth and reassurance. It feels like everything is fine—like his words are an embrace meant to ease your worry. But slowly, almost imperceptibly, Felix begins to change things around you. For your own good, or at least, that’s what he firmly believes. The next day, you notice your phone is nowhere to be found. You search every usual spot, but it’s simply gone. When you ask him about it, Felix smiles sweetly, his expression as warm as ever. “You don’t need that, sweetie. I’m here, after all,” he says casually, as though it’s the most logical explanation in the world. His words are laced with affection, but there’s something about the way he looks at you that leaves you uneasy. Then comes the moment you try to step outside. The front door is locked, and the key is nowhere to be found—not in its usual spot or anywhere nearby. You turn to Felix, confused, only for him to greet you with that same sunny smile. “Where are you planning to go, love? No, no, just stay. There’s nothing important out there,” he says cheerfully, his tone almost playful. Yet the underlying message is clear: you’re not leaving.
As the days go on, it becomes harder to ignore the changes. His cheerful demeanor makes the situation even more unsettling. It’s not that he’s openly angry or upset. Quite the opposite—Felix is all smiles, his soft voice and kind words wrapping around you like a blanket. But that’s what makes it so unnerving. He doesn’t need to yell or punish you in obvious ways. Instead, he controls your world bit by bit, taking away your freedom one small step at a time, all while keeping that ever-present smile. Felix, the smiling punisher, ensures that every move he makes feels peaceful, even as he tightens his control. He’s convinced that it’s all for your own good, leaving you powerless to argue. You don’t know if he’s upset or not because he never shows it. He keeps smiling, as if everything is perfect, even when you feel the walls closing in around you. And in the end, that’s what Felix loves most—the way you eventually stop resisting. Under his ever-cheerful facade, he knows he’s succeeded when you no longer have the ability to disobey him. For Felix, it’s not about breaking you with force—it’s about molding you into someone who wouldn’t even think of defiance.
Seungmin
Seungmin is far more dangerous when he’s mad. He doesn’t lash out physically, nor does he lose his composure entirely. Instead, he wields his words like weapons, knowing exactly how to cut you where it hurts the most. For Seungmin, this isn’t just anger—it’s calculated, deliberate punishment. And in his mind, you deserve every bit of it for daring to upset him. His tone is calm, but the edge in his voice is sharper than any blade. “I trusted you,” he begins, his eyes narrowing as they pierce right through you. “But maybe I overestimated you.” Those words hit hard, striking the very insecurities you try so desperately to hide. It’s not just what he says—it’s the way he says it. That look of disappointment in his eyes feels like a weight pressing down on your chest, making it hard to breathe. Seungmin doesn’t need to shout or raise his voice. He doesn’t waste his energy on dramatic outbursts. Instead, he lets his cruel words do the damage, each one carefully chosen to break you down. “You think you’re clever enough to deceive me?” he sneers, his tone dripping with disdain. The way he stares at you, unflinching and cold, makes you feel small and insignificant. As he continues, the tears well up in your eyes. You try to hold them back, but Seungmin notices immediately.
He always notices. And instead of softening, he doubles down, exploiting every vulnerability he can find. It’s like he’s taking inventory of everything you’re insecure about, everything you’ve ever been afraid to admit, and using it against you with precision. He doesn’t just stop at your tears. No, he takes them as proof that his words are hitting their mark. “It’s good you understand,” he says finally, his tone a mixture of finality and dismissal. “I don’t want to feel this way, but you leave me no choice.” His cold rationality feels even more crushing than outright anger would. Seungmin sees the way your shoulders slump, the way your gaze drops to the floor, but he doesn’t stop. For him, this isn’t about comfort or reconciliation. It’s about control. He believes you need to know your place, and in his mind, the only way to achieve that is to make you feel small enough that you’ll never cross him again. “You’re lucky I’m even giving you a chance to fix this,” he mutters, his voice soft but biting. “Next time, don’t make me regret trusting you.” Even as he walks away, leaving you alone, the weight of his words lingers. Seungmin doesn’t need to break you with force—he’s already broken you with silence, calculated remarks, and the deep scars left behind by his cruel, deliberate punishments.
Jeongin
Jeongin, with his innocent demeanor and soft smile, seems harmless at first glance. But beneath that sweet exterior lies someone far more dangerous than you could ever imagine. Jeongin knows how to wield his knowledge like a weapon, turning your deepest fears and darkest secrets against you without hesitation. His calmness when you make a mistake isn’t a sign of forgiveness—it’s a sign that he already has the upper hand. “Ah, do you need me to remind you who owns you?” he asks, his voice light and almost playful, but there’s no mistaking the edge beneath his words. Jeongin doesn’t need to shout or rage. He simply lets his actions speak for themselves, and those actions cut deeper than any punishment could. Jeongin’s obsession with control is rooted in knowing everything about you. It’s not just a pastime for him—it’s his greatest pleasure. Every secret you’ve tried to bury, every moment you’ve wanted to forget—Jeongin uncovers them all, keeping them locked away until the moment he decides to use them. He’s like a collector, carefully curating the parts of you you’d rather leave hidden. One morning, you wake up to find a small note placed neatly on your nightstand.
Your heart sinks as you notice the picture attached to it—a snapshot of a memory you’ve tried so hard to erase. The blood drains from your face as you pick it up, your hands trembling. You don’t need to ask who left it there. The message is clear, and the signature scent of Jeongin’s cologne lingers in the air. Moments later, he steps into the room, his usual soft smile playing on his lips. He leans in close, his breath warm against your ear as he whispers, “Darling, if it weren’t for me, the whole world might already know what you’ve been so desperate to keep hidden. I’m the one keeping your secrets safe. Don’t you think it’s easier to just listen to me? To do as I say? That way, we can live peacefully together?” The casual tone of his words contrasts sharply with the weight of his threat. It’s not a plea for obedience; it’s a reminder of the power he holds over you. Jeongin thrives on the fear in your eyes, the hesitation in your voice as you nod. For him, the game isn’t just about control—it’s about watching you realize there’s no escape. He enjoys the slow realization that you are entirely in his grasp. And through it all, he keeps smiling, his innocence a mask for the dark intentions lurking beneath. To the outside world, he’s perfect. To you, he’s a master of quiet destruction.

Blind - Part 1
♥--------♥--------♥
Part 2
Pairing: Felix x fem!Reader
Other Characters: Jisung, Minho
Summary: You're not having a great night, but revelations are made and actions have consequences.
Genre: fluff?, friends to lovers
Content warnings: alcohol consumption, jealousy
Word Count: 1,273
A/N: This one got away from me, but I kinda still like it. Also Minsung is a thing here, because have you seen the on stage back hugs? I have. I'm still not okay.
♥--------♥--------♥
You hated parties. Especially when you only knew the person who dragged you there in the first place. And this party in particular turned into more and more of a nightmare by the minute. You were sitting on an uncomfortable plastic chair in the garden of whichever of Felix’s friends hosted the party, and watched Felix talk to an unnervingly pretty girl who made the most obvious heart eyes at him. And you hated everything about this.
Having a social butterfly as a best friend had always been difficult for your introverted self, but you just couldn’t imagine a life without Felix. He was your bubbly, beautiful, funny ray of sunshine. Your best friend who you trusted with your life. He was also the man you’d been in love with for the past 3 years. And you kept it under wraps as well as you could. Because there wasn’t a chance in hell you would ruin this friendship by confessing to him and finding that he didn’t feel the same.
But Felix was pretty. He was downright gorgeous. And it went beyond his looks, Felix was pretty on the inside. He was kind, respectful, considerate. He was funny and smart and just wonderful in every conceivable way. When he looked at you with his bright grin, your heart made cartwheels in your chest. When he hugged you, he sent goose bumps all over your body. But he didn’t know. I couldn’t know.
You took another sip of your mediocre and very alcoholic cocktail and sighed. It was your third glass, and you didn’t know what they put in there, but it sure didn’t work. This was not how you’d imagined the night going. But it wasn’t surprising either. Wherever Felix went, he ended up making new friends and there was always as least one person hitting on him. It was tiring, really, but you couldn’t do anything about it.
“You look miserable”, a voice said, dragging you from your thoughts. You looked up to find one of Felix’s friends stand in front of you. He looked at you curiously, hair loosely framing his handsome face. “Nah, I’m fine”, you said, trying to get out of the conversation before it had even started. “You’re not though”, he said. “Tell me what’s wrong!” He pouted, giving you his best boba eyes. He was adorable, you had to admit. You sighed.
“Jisung, right?” He gave you an affirmative hum, as he sat down in the empty chair next to you. “Now, Y/N, what’s wrong? Why are you sad at my party?” He remembered your name. You were always surprised when that happened, but it did drag the smallest smile from your lips. It didn’t last long though, because your eyes wandered back to Felix and the girl. You sighed.
“I see”, Jisung said, following your line of sight, “you’re crushing on Lixie.” “I’m not!”, you replied too quickly and immediately covered your blushing face with your hands. “You so are”, he said, “and I get it. I’ve been there.” You lowered your hands and stared at him. “What?” He giggled. “Yeah, way back when I first met him. Followed him around like a puppy.” “How did you get over him?” Jisung grinned and pointed towards another guy who was currently opening a beer bottle with a chopstick. “Minho. Showed me was real love is.” “So, I just need to find my Minho?”, you asked. “That depends.” “On?” “Do you want to get over Lixie? Or do you really only want him?”
Exasperated, you threw your head back and let out a groan. “I see”, Jisung said again, still grinning. You had a feeling he enjoyed this conversation far more than you did. “Why don’t you tell him?”, Jisung asked. “Are you insane?” “Just curious, actually.” You sighed. “He’s my best friend.” Jisung raised his eyebrows. “I know. So?” “So, I don’t want to lose that.” Jisung huffed. “I call bullshit. I’m best friends with Minho. You wouldn’t lose that if you got together.”
You sighed. “You don’t get it.” “No, I do. You think he doesn’t like you back. Which is ridiculous.” Jisung looked at Felix now, watching him brush something off the pretty girl’s shoulder. “You are insane”, you said, taking another sip of your drink, “And blind.” “Oh, her?”, Jisung said, now actively pointing at the girl who seemingly had Felix wrapped around her finger, going by the way he laughed at her every word. “Nah, he’s just trying to make you jealous. She’s in on it.”
The grin on Jisung’s face was almost as bright as the one you loved so much on Felix. “What?!” Your eyes wandered from him to Felix and back again. “You’re shitting me.” “No, I’m serious.” “No way! You’ve just had too much to drink.” Jisung huffed. “That’s rich, coming from you.” He gestured at the now empty glass in your hand.
“What? This stuff does nothing”, you replied with a shrug. He raised an eyebrow. “You sure about that?” “I’m not making up nonsense, now, am I?”, you retorted. Jisung shook his head with a laugh before yelling “Jagi, can you come here for a sec” towards Minho. The older one turned his head, said something to the two guys he’d been talking to and made his way over to you.
“What’s up?”, he said as he reached you. “She doesn’t believe me that Lix is trying to make her jealous and that Hana is in on it”, Jisung explained. “So, she’s blind?” Jisung let out a short laugh and then boxed his boyfriend in the side. “Be nice, babe.” Minho giggled. “Alright, alright. It’s true”, he said to you, “I heard them plan it out.” “You’re for real?” You stared at him with narrow eyes. “So real”, he replied, and for whatever reason, you believed him.
You had to blink multiple times to process the information you had just been given. Felix, your best friend, who you’d been in love with for 3 years now, was currently talking and giggling and getting touchy with a pretty girl to make you jealous? How could that be real? It sounded like a wild fantasy to you. A ridiculous dream. Because that would mean that he liked you too. Your heart lurched in your chest at the thought.
And then, without even noticing it fully, you got up and walked over to him. He beamed when he saw you coming, looking more beautiful than ever and for a moment your knees went weak – thankfully, you didn’t stumble over your own two feet. “You!”, you said when you reached him, finger firmly planted on his chest. “Yes?”, he said, eyebrows raised in anticipation.
That’s when the alcohol hit. The world started spinning, your legs gave out, your balance was gone in an instant. Suddenly, you were caught mid-fall by two strong and very familiar arms. “Had a bit much to drink, did we?”, Felix said with a smirk. You stared at him, his face so pretty but also slightly blurry. “You!”, you said again, more slurred this time. And you knew there was more you wanted to say, but your brain stopped cooperating. “I think we should call it a night”, Felix giggled.
The rest of the night was a blur. The alcohol really did a number on you, and at some point you promised yourself to never again drink cocktails with unknown amounts of booze in them. Everything got very hazy and all you were really sure of was that Felix was by your side until your head hit a pillow and your mind drifted into a dreamless sleep.

The Gods Menu
Back to my masterlist
✎ ❀
Almost.
Almost done, she thought as she polished the last of the wine glasses. The bigger glasses were for the main corses, the red wines. The champagne glasses needed to go to a pedestal in the restaurant. Placing the high places on a tray she handed it to a waitress after she was done with them.
"Jessica, can you come here?" She asked one of her staff. The younger sommelier made her was over to her boss nervously.
"Yes ma'am?" She mumbled with her head down.
"Next time, you need to try and sell the special wines. Selected courses are fine of course but we have a couple of bottles that I want gone. Try to use them in the al a carte menu's. Like with the Veal you can suggest the Bernardus Chardonnay Monterey County Jeroboam. No critique, just telling you." She winked at her colleagues, always trying to remain kind.
Her eyes wondered to the loud yelling in the kitchen. They needed to quiet down. What if there were still guest in the restaurant. With a quick pace on her heels, she walked over to the counter. One of the guys was slapping the other guys with a wet towel resulting in a loud slapping sound.
Jisung noticed her approach from the corner of his eye, quickly nodding to The intern Jeongin to stop what they were doing.
"Can all of you shut up? What if we had guests sitting." She whisper yelled at them. As they quickly put the towels away and continued cleaning, the cook made his was over to the sommelier.
"Who pissed in your drink, beautiful?"
"Fuck off, Jisung. I just wanna be done for today. I need this weekend." She rolled his eyes at him, noticing the grin on his face ridiculously beautiful face.
"Im sorry, we'll hurry up okay?" She mumbled a thanks and paced away again.
"Y/n, wait!" She turned around again in a 180° motion.
"You wanna come drinking with the guys and me?"
"And feel left out the entire time? No thanks."
"Come on, Y/nnie! It'll be fun!" The pastry chef, Felix, yelled from somewhere behind him.
"I'll make it fully worth your while, i promise."
"Let me think about it." She told them and walked away for real this time.
-
It was around 1 in the night when all of them were finally all done. Some of the cooks had left already but 5 of them were waiting for the sommelier to be done so when she finally made her was to the dressing rooms they cheered for her.
"Are you actually gonna come with us?" Felix asked her with hope in his voice. She nodded and they all cheered even louder. She wondered how loud all of them could all be, thinking she had already heard the full extent of it in the kitchen.
It was Jisung, Chan, Felix, Changbin and Minho waiting for her. They had sent Jeongin and the other intern home, they wanted to come but they needed to go to school early. Their weekend was Monday and Tuesdays as those were the days the restaurant was closed but those were also the two days the intern needed to go to school.
"Wait are you really coming? Kinda didn't think you would." Jisung teased her, wiggling his eyebrows at her.
"Why wouldn’t i?” She questioned them.
“Well you’re kinda always fully business. We’ve never really seen you have fun so we didn’t think you did fun.” Chan confessed to her trying not to sound mean but it didn’t really help. She did have fun sometimes. Not her entire live revolved around work.
Well I do have fun sometimes so if yall can leave and let me get dressed, ill be out is a couple of seconds.” 4 out of 5 boys left the room and apologised at the same time, Jisung stayed behind.
"Can't i watch?" He asked with a desperate undertone, after which Chan dragged him out of the room.
She couldn't help but sniffle a laugh.
-
A little later the 6 of them made their way into the street where all the bars were. She hadn't been there in at least a year because of her job, the guys were very familiar with the placed they walked passed, making comments as to why they didn't walk inside
"Too many chicks."
"Firstly don't call them chicks. Jisung. It doesn't make you look cool. Secondly, since when is too many girls a problem?" She questioned him. He smugly smiled at her.
"Don't need any. Got my number one girl right here." He winked and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. She left it like that, not disliking the feeling of an arm around her. His arm specifically.
They follwed Chan into a bar they seemingly were all familiar with.
"143" she mumbled the name and as they walked in she felt Jisungs stare on her. Pushing past the crowd of people, she felt his arm slipping of her shoulders. He walked in front of her and just as he was about to lose her, he reached for her hand and pulled her closer. She mumbled soft sorry's around her and the group made their way to the dance floor. Finding her place she started to move a little to the loud music.
"Let me get you a drink, what do you like?" Jisung yelled over the music. She didn't hear him so she pulled him closer to her to make him ask her again.
"What can i get you?"
"Vodka Red Bull please?" She had to look up at him a little through her eyelashes.
"Really? Miss ‘i sell thousand dollar wines every night like its nothing’ drink a basic red bull vodka?" He laughed at her but not in any way that would hurt her. She laughed with him and nodded with a smile. He left her there to get her her drink. Without him she felt a little lost and didn’t know what to do. They really weren’t lying. So didn’t do fun things. Her idea of fun things was staying longer and work and mapping all of the wines. When he returned with the glasses he handed her hers and she took a big swig of it.
“Wow take it easy, beautiful.”
"Lets get shitfaced tonight." She grinned and cheered at what he said with the rest of their colleagues.
“Why do you wanna get shitfaced?”
“Because I don’t know what Im doing Jisung. I can’t even dance.” He grinned and her and placed his hand on her waist. Pulling her against himself.
“Just follow me, okay? I got you.” He laughed, kissing her cheek and taking another chug of his drink.
And shitfaced they got. The rest of the night was filled with drinking and dancing. Lots of dancing. After the what felt like 100th shot the bodies got closer together. Jisungs breath heated up her neck and her cheeks. His hand was still on her waist as they moved simultaneously. Her ass pressing into his crotch and his pressing his lips in her neck every once in a while. As long as she didn't stop him, he saw no point in them stopping.
From the back, she looked up at him. Her eyes drunk and her hair sweaty and sticky. Their bodies where wet from fallen beer and sweat. They probably looked beyond drunk but it all didn't matter. Right here, right now, she was the most beautiful girl he had ever laid his eyes upon.
"Lets all go home." Chan said around the group, to which most agreed.
He questioned himself. Did he even dare to ask? He eyes looked into her searching for a sign. Something for him to gain the confidence. And there it was, just a simple shimmering in her drunk gaze.
"Wanna come back to mine?" It was only a whisper but his words sounded like sirens in her head. Don't do it. You work together, this is a bad plan. Think of your carreer.
But it all didn't matter at this moment.
She pressed her lips to his and in the hasty kiss mumbled a yes. He grinned at her and wrapped his arms around her waist to pull her closer.
The walk to his house were filled with gentle touches as they slowly got there. They had lost the others way back at the bar but they didn’t care and they didn’t try to stop them. He pressed her against the front door the second she closed it behind her. His arm rested above her and the other one slid from her waist to her jawline. Pulling away he smiled down at her.
Maybe there was a way she wouldn't regret this in the morning.
-
The sun burned in her eyes when she slightly opened them. The bedsheets perfectly wrapped around her and the pillow was softer than she was used to.
This wasn't her pillow. Her breath stoked in anxiety. Where was she? Then she noticed the arm wrapped around her waist. Turning her head she looked back at the sleeping guy behind her. She muttered out a couple fucks and peeled the arm away from her. Slipping away from his body as silently as possible not wanting to wake him.
Sitting on the edge of his bed she grabbed her phone. 9.30. Quickly putting on her clothes and without a sound she left the appartement, not caring about the messy hookup look she was rocking. Luckily she didn't have to see him next Monday and Tuesday.
The next to days where spend question her decision. She thought about quitting her job, not wanting to face the guy out of embarrassment. But maybe that was taking it way too far. It was just a hook up. Sure she thought he was funny, handsome , kind and very hot but it all didn't matter. They worked together and you simply don't date colleagues.
When she walked into work the next day she could already hear the guys busy in the kitchen. They would see her when she made her way over to the bar and when they did she heard them whispering. It was about her, of course it was. All of them had seen the two of them leave together.
She tried to ignore them but her eyes kept wondering over in admiration. Sure, they all joked around when it was quiet but nothing stopped these guys. The hours they make are nothing compared to hers. It was passion and art.
Her eyes crossed Jisungs and it made her jump a little. She quickly looked away and tried to ignore his burning gaze. And as quickly as the day started it was over again. A part of her hated the silence. It was killing. They weren’t talking to each other and that didn’t only mean Jisung and Y/n. All of them ignored each other. The kitchen didn’t talk to the waitresses and quickly picking up the vibes, the waitresses didn’t talk to the kitchen. It was Wednesday so they were lucky it wasn’t busy but if this had happened on a Saturday they would have been in total shit.
Her phone dinged and she quickly looked at it, her heart skipping a beat.
Suddenly the room felt a lot smaller. Did the walls have eyes? She felt so watched so when she looked back at the kitchen she expected him to be looking at her and she was right. Not only him, also his friends. They patted his back and walked away from the kitchen towards the changing rooms.
The girls from her staff made her way towards her.
“Y/nnie, we’re done with everything you asked us. Can we leave? Some of us have school in the morning and today like, really sucked.”
“Of course girls, text me in the group chat when you all get home safely and goodnight.” They all said goodbye and got ready to leave.
“We hope that you and Jisung figure out whatever is happening!” And with the they left her completely speechless. It was only them. And finally it was time to talk. Her eyes wondered back to the kitchen where the light was now turned off except for the orange heating lamp of the pass. Underneath layed sugered cherry tomatoes to dry. She walked to the kitchen to see if Jisung was still there but she didn’t see him.
The hand on her shoulder made her jump.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.”
“It’s fine Jisung. You wanted to talk?” It’s like she dismissed it. Like it didn’t matter. He looked at her a bit shocked.
“No no this is not how we’re gonna do this. Were gonna sit down and talk. And with that i mean that you’re gonna explain why you ran out on me.” He grabbed her hand and pulled her to sick down on one of the sofas the restaurant had.
“I don’t think I can do this Jisung.”
“You’re gonna have to because right now its hurting me.”
“How is it hurting you?” Sh asked him, looking him deep in his eyes. She saw hurt and pain in them.
“Because right now I cant help but think that I was so awful to you that it made you run away.”
“Its not that Jisung.”
“Then what is it. What made you run out on me after the best night of my life?” He grabbed both of her hands in his, forcing them to stare at each other. Tears pooled in her eyes as she sought the words the wanted to speak.
“Because im scared. Jisung.”
“You? You’re not scared of anything. You’re Y/N, you’re the person everyone looks up to. The person everyone goes to when they need anything. You’re the backbone of the restaurant.”
Me? Jisung, im scared of everything. Im scared of my future, im scared of what to do, of taking charge, of who i am. But most of all im scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life that way that I felt that night that i was with you.” Her lips fell in a smile with the tears on her cheeks. The confession was a heavy burden on her shoulders but it was finally lifted. Jisung reached for her cheeks wipping the tears away. She leaned into the touch of his hand she smiled.
“I know that this, us scares you but please give me a chance to prove to you that im worth it. That im worth the risk.”
“I know you are Jisung.” He finally dared to smile back at her. He leaned in slowly, his hand still on her cheek.
“Can I kiss you again, Beautiful?” She nodded and excepted his loving kiss. She still remembered all the kisses they shared two nights ago but this one was different. It held promises, and finally work wasn’t the only thing on her mind.
It was him, all him.

———————————・❥・———————————
The kitchen was a mess. Your frilly pink apron was covered in flour, the ingredients were still scattered all over the kitchen island, and you were just placing another tray of cookie dough in the oven because your first batch got burnt to a crisp. You told yourself to not dwell on your first failure of the day and move on to cleaning up the kitchen. You quickly threw away all of the scraps into the trash, put all the leftover ingredients in their respective places, and wiped down the kitchen island clean. While cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen, your phone suddenly vibrated in your jean pocket. You jolted a little and grabbed your phone to check what it could be. Your eyes widened at the ringing alarm, and you were rushing to get everything all nice and clean as the clock continued to tick.
Fuck, I have fifteen minutes. This is what I get for waking up late.
The kitchen was now clean, but the only thing you now have left to deal with was the tray of burnt cookies. Oh how you hated looking at them. The sight brought tears to your eyes a little. You wanted to throw them out, but you also hated the idea of just wasting food. Maybe the burntness added some special flavor. You would never know. Before you were reaching to grab one of the burnt cookies, your phone buzzed again. You opened your phone once more, and all you got was one singular text. It was the kind of text you typically loved receiving, but only this time, it sent you to another frenzy.
Lixie: i’m on my way, angel baby. see you soon <3
Oh fuck, he’s on his way. You quickly snatched your apron off, and immediately rushed to your bedroom to change into your clothes for the evening: a simple and cute off-the-shoulder baby blue minidress with white knit stockings, a white ribbon to put your hair up in a half ponytail, and of course a pair of baby blue ballet styled shoes. You planned this whole outfit for weeks but couldn’t figure out the right time for it. Well, this was the day for it. After putting on the outfit, you rushed back to the kitchen to check on the new batch of cookies in the oven. The oven started to ring, and that was your queue to take the cookies out. You put on your pink oven mitts, opened the oven, and gradually took the tray out. However, as you were doing so, your doorbell rang.
Felix!!
You quickly put the hot tray and oven mitts down on the kitchen island, closed the oven, and approached your front door—all while trying to stay as composed as possible. You opened the door, and in front of you was your boyfriend standing in the most lethal outfit he could ever put together. First of all, that damn black turtleneck, which fitted him like a glove. You could even see the little sliver of his skin if you looked down at his waist. He was also wearing a pair of black jeans to go with his shirt, and black leather dress boots. He looked like he just walked out of a VIP event or a business meeting or whatever thing rich people do in their free time. Second of all, his sandy blonde hair looked so soft and fluffy that you just wanted to play with it all day until your heart’s content. And finally, his hands were of course occupied with a large bouquet of your favorite flowers, which made you swoon all over again.
“Hey, Handsome,” you giggled.
Felix couldn’t help but chuckle too. His eyes traveled up and down your body, taking in how utterly adorable you looked in your outfit. The way the dress fitted on you, along with the cute stockings made you an enticing sight. Not to mention, all the baby blue: his favorite color, no doubt
“Hey, Gorgeous,” he leaned in and gave you a kiss on the cheek before handing you the bouquet. “I got these for you.”
“Awww you shouldn’t have,” you took the bouquet in your hands and sniffed it, already entranced by the strong floral scent. “Mmmm it smells wonderful.”
“So does your house,” Felix walked in through the door, already hungry from the smell of freshly bake cookies. “Did you make cookies?”
“Yep, I made some. I just took them out of the oven, so they’re still a little hot.”
Felix nodded and walked to the kitchen, while you went to your living room to put the bouquet in the empty glass vase that was on your coffee table. You realized that you forgot to get water for the flowers, so you went back to the kitchen to get a cup of water. Once you entered the kitchen, you saw Felix enjoying the cookies you made—the burnt ones. Your heart stopped, realizing that you totally forgot to take care of the burnt cookies.
“Felix! Why are you eating the burnt ones?!”
“I didn’t know you were a talented baker, Baby,” he teased, wiping the black crumbs off his lips.
“Oh shut up,” you retorted, walking up to kitchen island and pushing the burnt cookies aside. You then grabbed the tray of perfectly baked cookies and put it in front of Felix. “Why have those when you could have these instead?”
You put your hands on your hips and gave your boyfriend a sassy expression. Felix laughed a little, loving how your pouty lips looked. He grabbed one perfectly baked cookie from the tray and took a bite. His heart immediately melted at the first bite, and his eyes rolled back in pleasure, shamelessly moaning. You couldn’t help but laugh at his honest reaction, all while your cheeks were heating up with that pink glow. He chewed on it softly, intending to savor the warm, delicious, and gooey chocolate taste. There was even a hint of saltiness, which was perfect to his taste.
“Mmm, these do taste delicious,” Felix said before pulling you in by the waist and kissing your temple. “You outdid yourself, Pumpkin.”
“Really?” you blush and nuzzle into his side. Your nose was then hit with a puff of his spicy and sweet cologne. The butterflies in your stomach fluttered, and you couldn’t help but get an extra sniff, already making your legs and feel weak.
“Yeah, but the burnt ones are tasty too.”
“You’re lyyyyiiiinnnngggg,” you whined, your voice a little muffled by the fabric of his turtleneck. “You’re just saying that to make me feel better.”
“No, Honey, I’m being for real.”
Felix grabbed a burnt cookie and gently pushed it through your lips. Your eyes widened, and you were immediately hit with the hot taste of charcoal and no sweetness. The burnt cookie was so crunchy that it disintegrated in your mouth. Your tongue felt so sandy and dry, and you immediately rushed to the sink to pour yourself a glass of water. Felix laughed, as you took a breather from drinking in so much cold water to wash out the awful, ashy taste.
“See, I told you it wouldn’t taste bad,” Felix chuckled.
“It was awful,” you coughed, “That thing felt like chewing on a burning cigar.”
“At least you did better the second time. The non-burnt cookies really are tasty.”
“You mean it?”
“Of course, Angel,” Felix pulled you closer to his body and held you tight. Your cheeks reddened once more, as his arms wrapped around you. His cologne was once again overwhelming your nose, making you feel a little lightheaded. Not to mention, you could feel his abs through his tight black turtleneck, igniting the temptation to just touch him. “And even if they were burnt, I’d still eat it. I love anything my good girl makes.”
His lips were right against your ear, his hands landed on your waist—tightly grabbing you—and his deep whispers sent shivers up and down your spine. You blushed even more. Your cheeks might as well be a second heater. It wasn’t helping that you could feel his hands slide down your thighs—his fingertips sneaking a little up under your dress.
“Feeeeelllliiiixxxxxx,” you whined again, squirming in his touch. “Don’t tease meeeee.”
Felix laughed and kissed your neck tenderly, sniffing your very fragrant and sweet perfume, immediately recognizing the scent.
“You’re wearing the perfume I bought you,” he said, “Mmm…You smell so sweet with it. Sweet like sugar.”
Felix kissed your neck more, and you melt into his touch, letting his hands wander on your skin and do whatever they pleased. You couldn’t help it yourself when you teasingly rolled your hips back up against Felix’s front, coaxing a deep groan out of him. You giggled, but it was cut off when he gripped your hips tighter and pulled you closer. You hitched a breath, and Felix pinned you against the counter. You were facing the sink, while Felix was behind you, holding all the power of the world in his hands.
“Felix—”
“You look so pretty today, Y/N…” Felix whispered in your ear, his voice so deep and husky. “My sweet girl always looks pretty for me, yes? That cute dress is very tempting.”
Your breath was coming out in small pants, and your face was probably redder than a rose. Felix still held you tight and nibbled on your ear, as he gently rubbed the growing tent in his pants up against your ass. You whined and arched your back against his chest. The butterflies in your stomach were fluttering faster, making all the heat rush and pool down to your core. You were on the verge of dropping your panties right there in the kitchen. However, you remembered that you wanted to go through with the original plan for the date first before doing anything else.
“Felix, wait,” you started.
“What’s wrong?” Felix pulled away slightly and stopped his movements—his hands still on your hips.
You turned around and faced him, wrapping your arms around his neck. You looked deep into his pretty chocolate eyes, and gently ran your fingers through the back of his sandy blonde hair, tugging it a little.
“We have a movie to watch, remember?”
A small smile formed on Felix’s lips, and he leaned in to kiss your plush lips.
“How could I forget?” he asked, “What movie are we watching again?”
Felix stepped away from you to give you space, for you were moving to gather all the good cookies and put them in the cookie jar and throwing away the burnt ones.
“Beauty and the Beast,” you answered, as you grabbed a bag you prepared—full of other movie snacks and drinks—and put the cookie jar in the bag. “They’re showing it at the drive-in theater.”
“Oh, that’s right,” Felix smiled warmly at you, ready to watch his favorite movie with his favorite person.
You left the bag on the kitchen island to grab a small measuring cup, filled it with water, and walked to the living room to finally water the new bouquet of flowers. You grabbed your purse from the couch and then went back to the kitchen to grab the snack bag. You looked up at your boyfriend with fond eyes.
“Ready to go, Hon?” you smiled.
Felix looked at you back with loving eyes, and went in for a sweet kiss on your lips.
“Of course, I am,” he said softly.
With triumph, you excitedly rushed to exit your house and get in the passenger’s seat of Felix’s car. Felix couldn’t help but laugh fondly, loving how excited you are to spend the evening with him. He closed the door behind him, making sure to lock it with the spare key you handed him. Felix then got in the driver's seat of his car and started the engine.
“Is it the same theater we went to last time?” he asked.
“Yep,” you replied.
Felix nodded, and he buckled his belt, as did you. He pulled away from the driveway, and he started the drive to the theater. You laid back in your seat like a passenger princess, and you were beginning to snack on the cookies you made. Felix looked over at you, and he couldn’t help but put his hand on your thigh. You blushed as he squeezed your soft flesh. Drives with him were always like this. The city lights were sparkling and shining so bright, your favorite songs were in the background, and your boyfriend was holding onto you while you looked through your window.
Your stomach growled a bit, and there was some pain too. You remembered that you got so caught up with baking the cookies that you forgot to actually eat something. You reached down to your feet and grabbed the cookie jar from the snack bag and took one cookie. You snacked on the cookie you grabbed, and Felix snuck a glance at you enjoying your little treat. A few minutes later, you both finally arrived at the drive-in theater. Felix parked the car in front of a very large screen, and he turned on the radio for the movie. You then pulled out more snacks for you both to enjoy, along with some soda.
“Tonight’s gonna be fun,” you said as you unbuckled your seatbelt.
Felix also unbuckled his belt, and he didn’t hesitate to wrap his arm around your shoulder.
“Mmhmm….” he agreed, immediately nuzzling into your neck, kissing it softly. Your face glowed pink, and you couldn’t help but squirm from the ticklish feeling. “I love you so much.”
“Love you too, Honey,” you ran your hand through his sandy blonde hair, taking in a moment to feel his softness, but you immediately bursted into laughter when his hand started touching your lower stomach, his fingers dancing. “Felix!! That tickles!!”
“Sorry, Angel Baby, I couldn’t help myself.”
The movie was about to start, and the two of you got even more comfortable in your car seats. You handed Felix a soda bottle, and you grabbed one for yourself. Felix took his bottle and started to sip on it, while you started snacking on the chips.
“Can I have one, Y/N?” he asked.
“Okay,” you nodded.
You handed Felix the cookie jar, and Felix happily grabbed another cookie for himself. He placed a kiss on your temple, inhaling the scent of your lovely floral shampoo. He then opened his mouth wide and took the sweet treat into his mouth. He hummed in satisfaction, falling in love with the warm, sweet, and chocolatey taste all over again.
“Hmmm…what’s the secret ingredient, Pumpkin? How are your cookies better than mine?”
“I used the same recipe, Honey,” you replied.
“My recipe?”
You only nodded, and Felix was shocked by your answer. The same recipe, yet different tastes. Perhaps there really was some magic touch that you had, or maybe the cookies tasted better because it was you who made them.
“You think they’re better?” you asked, your heart fluttering with warm excitement.
“Yes, they’re way better. Even when they’re burnt.”
“Feeellliiiixxxx.”
“It’s true, Honey, it’s true.”
The movie finally began, and you focused your attention on the movie, while Felix had most of his attention on you. He wanted to pay attention to the movie and let you enjoy it yourself, but he just couldn’t help it. He was addicted to you. You were just too good and too sweet to simply ignore. Felix nuzzled his head into your neck once more, inhaling the sweetness of your perfume. God, he loved that scent. It was the scent of flowers and wine. The sweetest you could ever be. But nothing could ever compare to the sweetness of you—sweeter than sugar.

FIVE ➺ the friendsgiving
masterlist
thanksgiving is about expressing gratitude for what you have, who you love, all of the blessings in your life that make it worth living. friendsgiving was a tradition to your group, a time to be together, to celebrate one another and cherish the bond you’d made over the years — does choi san want to be included, or change the meaning of friendsgiving for the rest of your lives?
w. angst, shit show below the cut good luck! also weed lol 7.3k
jeongin’s apartment was spacious, that much was clear — but fitting fourteen people in one place for a sit down dinner deemed itself near impossible. you’d done it last year, but you only had ten compared to this year’s addition, four extra people that you had invited.
yunho, his girlfriend and wooyoung who insisted he bring san, despite your argument. he yelled he’s so miserable he needs to be surrounded by people over the phone and you argued, saying he didn’t look too miserable in my apartment the other day, but wooyoung insisted, fuck the logic of it all. you agreed after a moment of silence — everyone could act like adults for a couple hours, right?
the tree lighting ceremony which you attended after dinner was the real celebration anyways, friendsgiving was just the pregame. being on november twenty ninth, it was after thanksgiving yet far before christmas, a night that held the beloved tradition you’d created amongst the ten of you. for you and jeongin especially, but also for you, riley, and the other seven boys you’d grown to look at like siblings over the past three years.
last year it was hectic, especially trying to get anyone to try and cook in the massive kitchen of the loft. you and riley attempted a turkey even though the two of you had never cooked one – riley just helped her dad who reigned the kitchen all her life and your mother had kept herself in the kitchen for hours ignoring anyone’s attempt to help your whole life — just like she did with everything. always to herself, worried only about herself, not a single care for anyone around her, even her family.
you had no idea what it took to roast a turkey. you’d read tons of recipes, watched youtube videos, last year you really thought you had it in the bag. that was until you realized you hadn’t thawed the turkey properly… it did not cook in time for dinner, and you were not missing the tree lighting ceremony. you all feasted on side dishes instead, store bought and handmade (thanks to hyunjin and changbin), you had a plethora of options spread out across the entire kitchen and living room.
the tradition of the tree lighting ceremony was a big deal for your group. riley and chan hated the entire idea when it was initially discussed, the crowd, the volume, just being in manhattan in general — with the rest of you besides felix begging the two to go the next year, for the ceremony to be the one thing they bend their rules for, they agreed. they found it heartwarming after some thought to have something so special, an entire event just for your friend group, to celebrate your years of friendship despite the discomfort of it all. plus… yours and jeongin’s anniversary, the place where you’d started dating, the event that he asked you to be his girlfriend at two years ago.
you should be ecstatic, filled to the brim with excitement to spend today with your closest friends, your boyfriend. there was christmas music playing throughout the apartment, the four roommates had decorated the space with snowmen and fairy lights and mistletoe, the apartment was filled with every holiday-induced feeling: joy, love, laughter filling the air. this holiday was huge for you and your friend group, the most special one of them all, yet one issue stood tall for you. there was a massive elephant in the room and it was not the lifesize reindeer chan bought from an estate sale months ago.
you and jeongin weren’t exactly on good terms but you weren’t necessarily on bad terms, either. you hated gray, you hated in between, you hated whatever the fuck was between you right now. when you arrived, you’d received a happy two years with a kiss on the cheek, but no longer than a second of eye contact, no hug, no smile. you’d left last night after hours spent groveling damn near at his feet, begging for forgiveness for not putting him first, swearing to him that you’d change. he forgave you, but how much can be done with any actual proof of your efforts – any action?
only time would tell, and the real issue still stood – the one place where you couldn’t agree. in hindsight, it really was simple – but mingi’s words sat heavily in the back of your head.
you deserve better – more. if he doesn’t get it now, he never will.
the words rang in your head like a catchy commercial, a sing-song of dread that wrapped around your head like the soundtrack to a carousel. you agreed with him, it made sense – if jeongin doesn’t understand your schedule now, it will only get worse, if he can’t put himself in your shoes then why would you give him any more pieces of you? why are you beating around the bush if he’s not in it until the end, he said he wanted to marry you – but he can’t handle your schedule? the schedule that will just only get worse? mingi said it, hongjoong said it, it had to be the truth, coming from two people who have experienced this already.
does he listen to your songs, give you advice, tell you how good he thinks you are? did he push you to get an internship? does he give you advice about your schoolwork? does he even know you’re falling behind in school?
you still couldn’t see it clearly, this wasn’t black and white. the gray area you hated so much was how much you love him, how you know every single part of jeongin that makes him himself, every trait you’ve spent the past two years falling in love with. he knows the same about you, he’s your other half – and you’re arguing about a fucking schedule change? mingi said it himself, you spent too much time at the label already, you need to create boundaries. these people are your life, your best friends, your family… how are you going to give that up? it was fucking war in your mind.
“girl, you haven’t stirred the potatoes in at least three minutes, what’s good with you?” han came up behind you, resting his chin on your shoulder, putting his hands over yours that held the wooden spoon and the bowl, beckoning you to relax.
“jesus, ki, it’s not going to run away from you,” he continued, loosening up your fingers’ grip on the spoon. you let go of both the bowl and the spoon, then quickly wiped your hands on the bright pink apron you found in the pantry – felix’s.
“i’m sorry, i was distracted,” you shook your head, shaking him off of you, letting a controlled breath out from deep in your lungs. you didn’t know how long you were standing there, staring straight ahead, tight grip on the utensil.
“you okay?” he asked as you both turned to face each other, he moved to your side with his eyebrows furrowed, big doe eyes staring at you with concern.
“i’m fine,” you gave him a tight lipped smile, definitely not a convincing one, you hoped he didn’t notice. you wiped your forehead with the back of your hand, letting out a forced chuckle, “no biggie, don’t worry. i’m just in my head.”
“i heard about you and jeongin,” han frowns, leaning his hip against the counter – there was fortunately no one else in the kitchen, everyone dispersed throughout the apartment, maybe out smoking on the rooftop.
“word travels fast, huh?” you gave another forced smile, turning your attention back to the potatoes, grabbing the spoon to keep stirring. it was a clear display of disinterest in the topic at hand, you hoped he’d drop it, but knowing him – he did not.
“with us? yeah,” he paused, racking his brain to figure out how to articulate himself properly, “i don’t think you guys have ever fought like this, but me and minho went through something similar the first time he had intensives – he was so exhausted he barely had time for me for a month, i nearly lost my fucking mind.”
you watched as tattooed fingers grip around the spoon a little harder, white knuckles a hard contrast against the deep wood, the digits not seeming much like yours anymore. “hanji, no offense but this is the last thing i want to hear–”
“you didn’t let me finish,” he put a hand on your shoulder, and your neck craned to see him, keeping your body facing the bowl. he had a weak smile, his eyes still filled with uncertainty, maybe a bit of apprehension as he spoke. “i expressed my concern and he changed. he made the time, when intensives were over he made sure to spend almost an entire week with me, nearly uninterrupted.”
a pit grew in your stomach, white hot rage bubbling up inside of you, “isn’t that beautiful? how kind he is to you, jisung.” sarcasm dripped from your words, a fake smile sitting on your cheeks, you could feel your ears turning red – somehow you gripped the spoon harder, wood threatening to snap under your grip.
“he fucking loves you, dude, he’s told us too many times, too many drunken nights spent up there saying i love ki i’m going to marry her,” han shrugged, turning away from you, walking around the marble island with his eyes trained on yours. last christmas flowed through the kitchen, the sweet melody of the song a harsh contradiction to the rage that consumed you, the song somehow making you angrier.
you continued stirring the side dish again, whipping the potatoes a little too aggressively as your blood pumped in your ears, “did he send you here to talk to me or something?”
“no, god no,” han shook his head, standing across from you, both of his arms stretched out across the island, leveling him as he stood at the counter that came just above his hips.
you snapped – you think it would’ve been better if jeongin had sent him. “so you’re just sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong?” your tone was just as harsh as your words – you could see han’s face twinge, his eyebrows shoot up, his lips parting to speak. you cut him off. “did he tell you he threatened to break up with me because i’m not sleeping with him enough?”
han stayed silent, shaking his head back and forth, those big doe eyes full of shock – you’ve never snapped at any of them before, never spoken with such anger. you needed air.
you took a breath before you spoke, calming your tone to ease both han and yourself, “i’m glad minho made you feel better and made more time for you after his intensives but my job is a little bit different,” you made a pinching motion with your fingers on your free hand, “i’m in a transitional period, that’s all. trying to figure out time for school and myself and jeongin, it’ll get better, we won’t break up. don’t worry.”
han nodded, not giving you much of a verbal answer, his eyes still full of worry and surprise. your head sank with your eyes shut tight, your patience was running thin – you were tired of talking about this, with jeongin, with riley, with mingi – now han? you dropped the spoon, let go of the bowl, then wiped your hands on your apron again.
“i’m sorry for snapping, hanji, i’m just stressed,” your words were choked, hands reaching to cup your makeup-covered cheeks, praying your cold palms would cool down the heat in your face. you left the kitchen in a hurry, not waiting for his answer, ignoring everyone in the living room, making a beeline for the back door. you raced up the steps to the rooftop, the cold november air slapping you across the face, pulling your anger from deep in your core right to the surface.
“you alright?” riley was quick to approach you, feet skipping in your direction from where she stood along the rooftop with chan, hyunjin and changbin. the white in her eyes had turned red, they were smaller, glossed over — they were definitely smoking.
you let the door shut behind you, letting your head fall back against the metal, letting a breath out from deep in your lungs. you were tired of this topic of conversation – jeongin wasn’t even around and you were still discussing the status of your relationship. tears quickly stemmed, traveling to the front of your face with a passion, dancing along your waterline.
“oh shit, what the hell happened? jeongin?” she asked, hands on your biceps with a concerned look, small eyes wide, searching yours for an answer. you lifted your index fingers under your eyes, trying to stop the tears from ruining your makeup, you didn’t need everyone to know what you were doing up here. you didn’t answer, you focused on steadying your breathing, trying to stop the breakdown before it really started.
you took another deep breath before answering, “i just snapped at hanji in the kitchen, he was talking to me about jeongin.”
the confession only made the tears fall quicker, they piled over your waterline, over your fingers, skipping over your digits and onto the ground beneath you. you tried not to cry cry, letting the tears fall but you kept your breathing steady, fighting not to break into a full out sob.
“why was he giving his two cents on your relationship?” riley scrunched up her face, rubbing your arms, “that’s not his place, your snap was valid.”
you bent forward, hands braced on your knees, keeping your face level to the ground – if tears were going to fall, better they fall directly to the ground.
“fuck,” you cursed under your breath, “i’m so over it, ri.”
riley moved to your side, her back against the door, rubbing small circles on your back. “you’re under a lot of stress dude, that’s perfectly understandable. you talked to jeongin at all today?”
you shook your head, “he kissed my cheek when i got here and said happy anniversary, but he’s been drinking with san and minho and the rest of them in the living room since.”
riley sucked in a breath through her teeth. “we’re both in trouble today,” her words were quiet, almost under her breath, no doubt so chan couldn’t hear. you took a pause, thinking about her words, then a laugh escaped your lips.
you both paused for a moment and you turned your head to look up to her, the both of you falling into giggles. you were in this together, in more ways than she knew.
christmas music continued to fill the air of the apartment, the lingering stench of skunk from your clothes mixed with the smell of the stuffed turkey cooking in the oven, you were feeling a million times better. chan approached you apprehensively on the rooftop, the joint in his hand, a peace offering to show you he wasn’t on either side nor in the middle. no, chan was a friend, and you needed as many of those as you could get right now. you took a hit to relax you, the weed filling your lungs was much better than the breaths you were forcing, the brief high grounded you.
you were able to head back to the kitchen, tears long gone, apron still tied with hyunjin following you around like a lost puppy. he didn’t approach you on the rooftop until you were smiling, your eyes red and slightly smaller, he let riley and chan whip you back into shape until he felt it was okay for him to take his turn to cheer you up. he stood with you at the stove, a pan full of vegetables in front of you, handing you each ingredient you asked for with a hushed giggle because the appearance of oregano was similar to what you’d just been smoking – “do you think seungmin keeps his stash here to hide it from the others?”
it was just oregano, that you knew, but you bursted into a fit of giggles anyway at the silliness of his question. if anyone could help your mind drift somewhere else, it was hyunjin.
riley and chan joined you in the kitchen, riley had picked up the bowl of mashed potatoes and finished what you had started, mixing the bowl while her and chan giggled to themselves. changbin, yunho and aera lingered in the kitchen looking for snacks but ended up in a deep discussion about the history of EDM music. yunho glanced at you with a weary eye every few minutes, knowing exactly what was up even if you didn’t explicitly say it. knowing han, he probably told everyone in the apartment the second you ran up the stairs.
and still, jeongin has not spoken to you – hadn’t even glanced up from his spot on the couch when you returned from the rooftop.
“are there more millers in the fridge?” you turned around at the easily recognizable voice, riley looking up at the same time you turned. san stood in the empty space that was the entrance to the kitchen, empty bottle in his hand, looking around the room with raised eyebrows.
“yeah, man, in here,” yunho said from his spot next to changbin, the pair stood next to the stainless steel. yours and riley’s eyes both seemed to follow him from his spot all the way to the fridge, you cringed, the hairs on your arms threatening to stand tall.
it was so… uncomfortable. riley and chan have been harmonious all day, you’ve always known chan is a perfect gentleman but seeing him with riley was something else entirely. holding doors open, drinking from her straw, finishing her sentences, moving a stray hair from her face, it was so domestic – like they’d been together for years. to put yourself in san’s shoes, to watch her with someone else after he’d spent so much time with her was painful.
to make it all worse – san knew every single detail, but chan did not. riley probably felt how you did whenever mingi was on the rooftop – that feeling you knew all too well.
“don’t forget to stir, princess,” hyunjin said from beside you and it snapped you back into reality, you quickly moved the vegetables around on the pan, scooping the liquid from the pan and draping it over the vegetables. by the time they were done, you were tired of standing and your mouth was dry – the weed had done more than just calm you down. you quickly walked over to the fridge, past yunho, aera and changbin to crack open a beer for yourself.
“keeks,” changbin wandered over to the fridge, his voice hushed as if he didn’t want anyone to hear him. in a brown sweater that hugged every single muscle on his broad chest, he looked delectable. he put one arm up on the fridge, using it as leverage as he crossed one leg over the other, standing tall against the height of the fridge.
you raised your eyebrows, sipping your beer, prompting him to continue without a verbal response.
“about jeongin…” he started, looking everywhere but in your eyes, his voice soft but uneasy. your eyes shot wide – this cannot be fucking happening again.
“ah!” was yelled across the kitchen, a sound of annoyance, a sound that meant shut the fuck up. riley had a finger up in front of her, wiggling it back and forth – her eyes just as wide as yours but full of assertion. “we will not be doing that anymore tonight, get over here and cut up some butter.”
a wide smile racked across your face, your cheeks feeling sore at this point. god, you fucking loved that girl. you shot her a grateful look, nodding with a tight lipped smile, and made your way right back to hyunjin.
“...and that’s why i told you to keep your mouth shut about it, it’s none of our business,” minho said, his voice coming clearer as he walked into the kitchen right behind han.
everyone’s heads turned to look at the pair who stopped in their tracks, everyone’s expression utterly fucking blank. a laugh bubbled in your throat, one you couldn’t help from spilling out, one that filled the open space of the room that was just so uncomfortably silent. everyone’s heads turned to you, all sixteen eyes wide.
“should we sit in a circle and discuss it as a group at this point? someone call jeongin in here, too,” the words slipped from your lips so carelessly, irritation clear in your words, your entire body vibrating as you spoke. if everyone was going to talk about it amongst themselves, without the two people the situation was even about, fuck it – why not talk about it with everyone instead?
you couldn’t stub your toe without everyone knowing, it was the only negative part of your friend group, an aspect that wasn’t inherently negative all the time. here, today, on the most important day for everyone… it felt like your friends really fucking sucked.
jeongin’s head popped right around minho’s, copper curls a stark contrast to minho’s dark ones. his eyebrows were raised at the mention of his name, clearly not knowing at all what you guys were talking about.
“call me for what?” he asked as he made his way through the kitchen, no one moved an inch, eight pairs of eyes trained on his red tee as he made it to the fridge. “just need a beer,” he still had an eyebrow raised, and yet no one spoke a word. “why are you guys acting so fucking weird?”
everyone went back to what they were doing moments prior, as if nothing happened at all. you turned around, facing hyunjin again, hands immediately going to cool down your cheeks again. you whispered what the fuck under your breath about six times, then ran a hand through your hair.
hyunjin put a hand on your shoulder, squeezing it before he whispered, “he’s gone now.” he looked around the kitchen before his eyes settled on changbin, then his eyes went wide, “oh shit, bin, please tell me you remembered the apple pie, i think we forgot it on the table.”
the turkey was ready on time this year – you were shocked. the air smelled so delicious, it was as if martha stewart herself came to this apartment and cooked you all a gourmet thanksgiving dinner. from all the barefoot contessa episodes of food network you’d been watching before bed the last week, you felt as if you really learned something, you couldn’t believe you planned out everything perfectly with ingredients, timing, the amount of food, everything. this had to be your and riley’s best work yet.
it wasn’t just you and riley in the kitchen all day — there was also felix, seungmin, yunho and aera when they arrived, changbin, hyunjin, wooyoung even came in the kitchen to whip up the cranberry sauce. from stuffing to sweet potato casserole, you felt like you were doing the true american thanksgiving, not only participating in it but you actually cooked a lot of it from scratch. if your parents knew, they’d be shocked, too, maybe even proud of you.
one more problem still remained: fitting fourteen people to sit down and eat it all. the apartment was massive, there was an incredible amount of space, the roommates fit tons of people on the rooftop every other weekend – but fitting them inside?
there was one dining table that seats six, eight if you brought over the lawn chairs from the rooftop, but that still left six people standing or in a whole other room. the open floor plan of the apartment made it so there weren’t really rooms, but the living room was still far enough from the dining room that it was awkward. last year, you all ended up standing, only seungmin and han sat down at the table – with just appetizers it didn’t give off the sit-down vibe. this year you had a display of food, the plates themselves took up most of the table space.
seungmin, felix, yunho, aera, han and minho were already seated – you left the other two seats up to hyunjin and changbin. that left riley, chan, san, wooyoung, jeongin and you in the kitchen, a terrible combination, probably the worst mix of people that could’ve ended up together.
wooyoung’s cheeks were bright red and his chest matched, his button down shirt that had three buttons left open exposed the amount of beers he had already consumed – also the fact that he was the only other person in the room that knew everything. he kept catching your eye, trying not to smile, but you could tell he was about to burst. you just prayed he kept it in.
“are we just gonna stand awkwardly around the table, or eat in here?” riley asked, her eyes continuously darting around the room. you could see in her eyes and the flush on her cheeks that matched wooyoung’s, she was feeling the same way as you were, discomfort, uneasy about what comes next. she kept shifting her weight from leg to leg, bouncing back and forth from each side of the island, cleaning up the area that had already been cleaned as best it could.
“it’s like the kid’s table,” wooyoung giggled to himself, “but instead of the kid’s table it’s the outcast island.”
you raised an eyebrow toward him, you were sure everyone did, your heart picking up a beat. maybe you were being paranoid – he wouldn’t expose anything, not here, not now.
“what do you mean?” jeongin asked from across the island – you hadn’t even pulled out plates for yourselves yet.
“this is a crazy group of people,” wooyoung shrugged, sipping the beer he held in his hands, chipped nail polish perfectly matching the frayed label of the bottle. san laughed from his side, turning around to face the fridge so no one caught his chuckle – everyone did. your heartbeat quickened, widening your eyes in a please shut up kind of way, and wooyoung just laughed as he caught your eye.
“why is it crazy?” chan asked, looking around the room before he bent down to riley’s ear and whispered way too fucking loud, “is he talking about jeongin and ki? i thought that topic was off limits for the rest of the night?”
your head went into your palm, eyes shut tight, muttering a jesus fucking christ under your breath.
riley looked around the room, completely ignoring chan, “you guys should go get some food.” she nudged chan’s side, her eyes saying that means you, too. she looked to you with wide eyes and used her head to nod toward the hallway leading towards jeongin and chan’s bedrooms, you gave one nod of your chin back in understanding, following her through the space of the apartment as the others left for the dining room.
“i can’t do this,” her voice was hushed, shaky and stressed. her eyes were wide, her hands sat on the sides of her head pushing her hair back, “chan and san both in the same room, i can’t do it. then wooyoung made that comment and san laughed? i’m freaking out, ki.”
“i know, i know, i’m sorry, breathe,” you kept your eye contact strong as you breathed with her, taking a soothing breath from all the way in your stomach before you continued, “i’ll tell wooyoung to shut the fuck up and stop being so obvious. i don’t know what’s going on, i’m sorry.”
“chan isn’t ready to date yet and i know that, i–” she shut her eyes, taking another deep breath, “this is the last place i want him to find out i’m still sleeping with san.”
“he doesn’t want to date yet?” your eyes were wide with surprise, you didn’t know this, you and riley still haven’t discussed the whole thing. she whined, a high pitched noise slipping from her lips, her hands immediately going back in her hair.
“he’s still freaked out about that eden girl who cheated on him,” she answered quickly, “but i’m not even mad because i can’t exactly let go of san, either.”
“oh shit, ri,” a laugh escaped your throat, “we really need to talk this shit out.”
“i know, but now isn’t the time or place,” she sighed, “now i’m panicking that his plan was to expose me or something by coming here.”
“i really don’t think san would do that,” you shook your head, your eyebrows furrowing. you couldn’t begin to understand how san felt, but knowing san, he wouldn’t deliberately hurt anyone – it’s not in his character.
“then why would wooyoung say that? they’re playing with fire, ki, you heard them,” she was whisper-yelling now, her hand shooting out in the direction of the living room outside of the hallway.
“i do not think wooyoung and san would come here just to expose you to chan, ri,” you put your hands on her shoulders, “wooyoung wouldn’t do that to me and san wouldn’t do that to you.”
“i hope you’re right,” her eyes closed, a hand going through her hair again, “i can’t handle losing chan for this stupid of a fucking reason, i think if chan found out it would push him over the edge and he’d never trust a woman again. i need to end things with san – again.”
“i don’t think i was supposed to hear any of that.”
your heads whipped behind you, a figure stood at the end of the dim hallway, and the whole world went silent. chan stood with his jaw locked, his hands in fists at his sides, his eyes unreadable – you’d never seen chan anything but happy, maybe stressed during midterm and finals season, but never this. never anger.
“chan,” riley choked out, a hand clasping over her mouth, “i–”
he took a step closer, you felt so fucking small between them. you took a step back toward the wall, giving them space, removing yourself from their eyeview, from the situation entirely.
“i came over here to see if you were okay,” he hissed out with furrowed eyebrows, “did not expect to find out you’re fucking the guy that was just snickering in the fucking kitchen.”
“chan, i did not want you to find out this way,” riley started, and you side stepped, wanting to get out of the hallway – this was between them now. her eyes panned to you, wide and full of shock, fear, something else you couldn’t decipher. it meant please don’t go.
“you didn’t want me to find out at all,” he laughed, a sarcastic chuckle so dark you’d never heard anything like it leave his lips before.
“that’s not true,” riley shook her head, her voice small, “i’m so sorry.”
“i spent hours telling you how terrible she made me feel, how fucking awful it was finding out she cheated on me, i went in detail on what that did to me, ri,” his voice cracked, his shoulders slumped. chan wasn’t just angry – chan was sad.
his words stuck with you – your eyes couldn’t leave him. his words hit directly in your gut, your soul – chan and eden were together for something like six months? and her cheating on him affected him this much… guilt sat in your stomach.
“i know, i should’ve been honest from the start, i’m so sorry,” tears welled up in riley’s eyes, “i should’ve told you.”
“what goes on?” seungmin’s head peeked around the corner, eyeing the three of you, his eyes curious. you all turned to look at him and his eyes widened, “oh shit, what the hell happened?”
“riley’s been fucking san,” chan didn’t look at seungmin as he said it, he kept his eyes trained on riley as he spoke, his jaw locked again.
“come on, chan,” you interjected, “gonna let the whole house know?”
they both turned to you, riley’s eyes full of tears, chan’s pained expression told you that you should’ve kept your mouth shut.
“why not? she did it,” he looked at you as if that was the stupidest thing you’ve ever said, his words still coming out choked. how could you forget? if one of them knows something, they all know it. seungmin, like a messenger pigeon, was gone from the hallway the second the words left chan’s lips.
you shut your eyes tight – this was so fucking bad. you didn’t know how you were going to go out there and face everyone after this, were you even going to make it to the tree lighting? you wouldn’t do it without riley, it was too important, she was the one who introduced you to them in the first place.
“i really thought you were it, ri. thought we were it,” chan shook his head, snapping you back into focus, and a sob left riley’s lips, her tears free falling now.
“you don’t even want to date me, chan, how were we it?” she asked through her sobs, a fire of her own starting to burn, her face increasingly more red as the conversation continued.
“i want to, i’m just not ready, it doesn’t mean it won’t ever happen,” his voice got louder, it was strained, full of frustration, the veins in his neck becoming more visible. he was trying to keep his own emotions to a minimum.
“and what, i’m just supposed to wait for you to get over it? wait for you to be sure about me?” the volume of her voice matched his, a sharp edge to it, she was getting pissed. a smile threatened to break on your face, that’s your riley.
“no, riley, what? there was no waiting, i– we’re together every fucking day. i just wasn’t ready for a title,” he was talking with his hands now, stumbling over his words. she caught him, she hit checkmate.
“if we’re together every day then we should’ve had a title, chan. if there’s no title then i’m single,” her smile was victorious through her tears, “if i’m single i can do as i please, right now i just want to eat the dinner i just spent hours making.”
with that, she maneuvered past him, grabbing your wrist to pull you through the end of the hallway. you stayed quiet – you didn’t know what to say other than what the fuck just happened? a sadness sat in your stomach, a mixture of the thought of riley going through all of this alone and the pain chan was feeling from not only eden but also riley sleeping with someone else.
you made your plates in silence, the dinner table eerily quiet as riley slammed food on her plate, not at all careful about hitting the metal spoons against the ceramic. makeup stained her cheeks in lines of tears, her sniffles the loudest thing in the room. you followed along quietly, your face blank, santa claus is coming to town by justin bieber lingering in the background, tension so painfully thick in the air the situation was almost laughable. almost. chan followed momentarily after, standing to the side with his jaw locked again, his eyes red and glossy. everyone already knew, but even if they didn’t, it was so fucking obvious what had just happened – you wanted to grab riley and make a run for it.
as she put a biscuit on her plate, she turned to the table and smiled, “should we all say what we’re thankful for?”
everyone stared at her for a moment before they nodded in agreement, small mumbles of ‘yes’ and ‘totally’ slipping through. you were on edge, you didn’t know how to handle her right now, didn’t know what she was thinking and that made you panic.
“i’ll go first,” she smiled, standing at the head of the table, the warm, dim lighting catching the streaks on her face that were still wet, “i’m thankful for being alive, being healthy, and especially thankful for choi san’s stroke game.”
you gasped, everyone fucking gasped, a snort left your nose. her face was blank, she was so serious, you glanced to chan whose gaze was so pointed at san you were grateful looks couldn’t kill.
“i’ll go next, then,” chan declared from his spot to the side of her, behind han, and everyone’s eyes moved together – this was so not good. “i’m thankful for my friends, my family, the meal, and i’m thankful to be single, not dating another fucking cheater.”
“cheater?” a laugh escaped riley’s lips, “we were never fucking dating!”
“ki, do something,” jeongin quietly said from beside you, when he got there you weren’t exactly sure. your face grew hot under his gaze, you hadn’t looked at him in the eyes in so long.
“ki can’t do anything,” san said from across the table, stood behind hyunjin and changbin, then sipped his beer casually. all of the blood drained from your face, you stayed quiet.
“can’t call out your friend for cheating when you’re a cheater yourself, right?” your world fucking stopped when the words left san’s lips. wooyoung turned to him with wide eyes, yunho’s head snapped up from the table. everyone else gasped again.
“i– what the fuck are you talking about?” you snapped, your eyebrows furrowed. you looked to jeongin beside you who’s eyes wouldn’t leave san, the blood drained from your face, you couldn’t breathe. you needed to stay calm.
“continue,” jeongin’s chin jutted up to san, his voice entirely too natural. he didn’t seem stressed or upset at all. you glanced to riley who stared at you with wide eyes, her lips parted. you couldn’t read her.
“wooyoung and i are roommates, ki, you think i don’t know?” san laughed to himself, sipping his beer again. his stance was casual, one hand in his pocket and one hand wrapped around his beer as if he wasn’t ruining your life. riley was right about san coming here to expose, but she wasn’t right in who he was exposing.
“i didn’t tell him anything, whatever he’s about to say is a lie,” wooyoung’s words came out fast, rushed, shaky – a lie no one would believe.
“that night you spent in the studio with mingi? you know, your coworker?” san raised his eyebrows, his head cocked to the side, “come on, ki, i know you know what i’m talking about. you just told wooyoung on thursday.”
your breathing quickened, your face probably beat red with how much heat you were feeling. your reply came out just like wooyoung’s rebuttal, too quick, too shaky to be true, “you’re a liar.”
“no he’s not,” jeongin sipped his beer, “makes sense why you’re at the label so much then, huh? spending time with your other boyfriend?”
he finally looked at you – his eyes were cold as ice. so detached, so far away, there was no anger – there was just a wall. you could throw up everywhere.
“jeongin, he’s fucking lying–”
“you and yunho both, actually, i guess riley, too. bunch of cheaters,” san shook his head with a tsk, “aera, if you didn’t know, yunho cheated on his girlfriend of four years to be with you.”
aera turned to yunho with an eyebrow raised, “i knew it, that’s why we went to a hotel? you never had roommates, did you?”
you turned back to jeongin who’d already begun walking toward his bedroom, too much leisure in his step, too much calm compared to what you felt – you were going to be sick. mingi’s words hang in your head again.
you deserve better – more. if he doesn’t get it now, he never will.
“jeongin, please listen to me,” you pleaded, stomach hot, “san doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
“then what is he talking about?” jeongin asked, his voice too casual, too cool. he stood in his doorway, the light of his bedroom dim behind him, the hallway even darker, he leaned against the doorframe with his arms crossed. maybe he believed you, maybe he wouldn’t believe san at all.
“i don’t know, nothing happened with me and mingi,” your shoulders were slumped, your face stoic. you placed the end of a piece of hair between your fingers, jeongin’s eyes immediately catching the action. a laugh escaped his lips.
“i knew it was some shit like this,” he ran a hand through his hair then shook his head, “please get the fuck out of my apartment.”
“jeongin, wait,” you moved closer, hand reaching to grab his forearm. he snatched it back, looking up to you with those cold, icy eyes once more.
“you don’t want to fucking be with me, ki. you don’t want a boyfriend. you want to be a producer, you want to go to shows, hangout with your record label friends, drink at bars in brooklyn on weeknights when you should be doing your fucking homework that i know you haven’t done in weeks, you want to be single. you need to be single.”
you stared at him, your lips parting to speak, but you had nothing to say. no words would come out, even after you willed them to, begged them to. there was nothing you could say to fix this – no words to use as a bandage, a splint, a cast, nothing to hold up a relationship that had already been utterly destroyed. there was no coming back from this.
you whimpered, a sound of despair, a sound that came from so deep in your chest you didn’t really know if it came from yourself. “i’m so sorry,” you whispered, tears welling up in your waterline, “i’m so fucking sorry.”
“have fun in LA, safe travels. delete my fucking number please,” he stepped back into his room, a fingers wrapped around his door. he paused, icy eyes meeting yours again, “i would’ve given you everything, you know that right? would’ve made you happy, done anything for you. i hope he can do that for you.”
he shut his bedroom door, his voice didn’t waiver once. you stood, facing his closed door, the dark wood staring at you, mocking you. the walls closed of the hallway closed in on you as you stared back, so many nights you’d spent behind that same door, in bed with him, playing games on his computer, watching tv, so much of your life you’d spent enclosed in the four walls of his bedroom. you’d miss it.
your eyes were trained on the floor as you walked back towards the living room, you thought maybe you were in shock – two years today. you really weren’t going to the tree lighting after all.
“ki,” riley whispered, immediately approaching you, wooyoung at her side.
“i didn’t know he was going to say all of that, i’m so fucking sorry. i thought we were just messing around in the kitchen, i didn’t know that would happen, i’m so sorry,” wooyoung was speaking fast and hushed, words only you and riley could hear. you looked up at him, then realizing your face was wet, tears you didn’t know you had spilled.
“we have to go,” you choked out, your eyes trained on the floor in front of you again. riley had gotten your bags from the living room, and you were on the sidewalk before you could process how you got there.
two years. he’s a middle child, he can sing, his favorite food is chicken, he hates beans. he was a child model, he’d be a preschool teacher if he wasn’t in school to write musicals. he loves ASMR, he loves watching mukbangs, his favorite color is pink, he loves quality time. he hates being touched by anyone else that isn’t you. you’d spent two years learning all of this, loving all of this – you couldn’t breathe. you couldn’t think. you fucked up.
your phone was ringing, buzzing in your purse, you couldn’t answer it. you couldn’t even reach for it.
“hey yun, yeah we’re taking her home, i don’t know she hasn’t said a word. okay, meet us there,” wooyoung’s voice felt so far away, you could’ve sworn he was right next to you.
you fucked up, you fucked up, you fucked up.
i would’ve given you everything, you know that right? would’ve made you happy, done anything for you. i hope he can do that for you.

FIRST LOVE ISN'T ALWAYS THE BEST LOVE
Hyunjin x reader
Part-5 Surprise and Jealousy
Yeji,Y/n and Tess were walking in school after class as Tess and yeji are flirting playfully.Y/n feels someone looking at her and turns to look as she sees Felix standing there waving to her smiling she rubs her eyes not believing it as he just laughs"Omg wtf?!".she runs to him hugging him tightly"Felixxx" he hugs her back, his arms around her waist and hers around his neck.Y/n pulls back a little but still hugging him, "You jerk why didn't you tell me? I missed you!" She hits him lightly and Felix chuckles holding his chest for a dramatic reaction "really after I came all the way here?" She smiles pulling back from the hug. "Why the hell are you here though? How and is mom okay? How's she doing.
Felix pov- As I hug her tightly, my life feels like it just gained light again. Gosh I love her so much, she's so talkative tho, although I missed it. I missed her hitting and laughing, her smile and hair.Only if she knew how I'm not here for the job at all.. it's for her. How I had to convince her mom to let me come here although her mom said "ik u love her but don't disturb her studies" how I had to beg for 5 days straight to let me come here and see her daughter again. I did do a little emotional blackmailing tho... Ok but I'm not here for a job but for her. My love.. however who tf is gonna find a job now,god I'm doomed.
Y/n- "hello sir back to earth ik I'm beautiful, but don't stare so much and answer my questionss"
Felix laughs softly"calm down, she's great and I'm here for a job interview, if they take me then I'll stay here and if not. I will go back"
Y/n nods "ohhh wow"
"no because actually tell me about your job? Are they gonna give you a place to live? Where is it? How's the pay?
Felix assures her "dont worry, it's a interview for now but if I get in I'll definitely get paid good and they're supposed to pay enough for my rent so I'll be good"
Hyunjin who was watching from afar, the scene unfold, his jaw tightening. He had seen the way Y/n lit up when she spotted the guy-Felix, her so-called best friend. The one she talked about with so much affection.
He watched as they hugged, the closeness between them undeniable. Something churned in his chest, a feeling he didn't want to name.
Gathering himself, he strode over to them, keeping his expression neutral. "Y/n," he called, his voice even.
Y/n pulled back from Felix and turned, her eyes widening slightly. "Hyunjin."
Felix turned as well, his smile polite but curious.
"This is Felix," Y/n said, gesturing toward her best friend. "Felix, this is Hyunjin, my project partner and..." She hesitated. "Friend."
Felix offered his hand. "Nice to meet you, Hyunjin."
Hyunjin shook his hand briefly, his grip firm. "You too."
There was a moment of silence, the air between them thick with unspoken tension. Hyunjin's gaze flickered between Y/n and Felix, noting how comfortable they seemed together.
"Anyway," Y/n said, breaking the awkwardness, "I was just about to show Felix around. He's visiting for a few days."
"Right," Hyunjin said, his tone clipped. "Enjoy."
Y/n gave him a small smile, and Felix nodded politely before they walked away. Hyunjin watched them go, his hands clenching at his sides.
Felix noticed Hyunjin's reaction, and as they strolled around campus and greeted her friends, yeji and Tess who had a lot of fun seeing him after hearing so much about him...he couldn't shake the feeling that the other guy wasn't just a casual friend.
"You talk about him a lot?" Felix asked casually.
"Hyunjin?" Y/n said, glancing at him. "Not really. We argue more than we talk
But Felix couldn't help overthinking it. He saw the way Hyunjin had looked at Y/n, and it was a look Felix recognized all too well.
At her apartment at night now-
"come on let's get inside, She holds Felix's hand showing him around and finally to her room "and this is where I cry and dance at the same time". Felix laughs softly"yeah I know.. that's definitely you,he sits on the bed, laying down definitely tired of the journey
"okay..how's mom? Everything good? Why'd u leave her alone there?"
Felix sighs softly smiling"she's completely fine and healthy and I didn't want to come but she forced me saying I should come here for you and the job. She really misses you" Y/n softly smiles too"yeah I miss her a lot too, I hope she's okay.."
Felix replies"she's fine I swear she really badly forced me to be here i was supposed to come like 5 days ago"
She sits beside him , "gosh I missed you",Felix gets back up "I missed you too"he says smiling softly....
"Btw since yeounjun is at his sisters house for 2 days, you can sleep in his room okay? Don't u dare touch shit and only come to my bathroom and my room for stuff u need" Felix nods "yupp,I wanna sleep so bad gosh I didn't sleep more then 2 hours on the flight my back hurts"
Time skip
Over the next few days, Y/n couldn't stop smiling. Having Felix there felt like a dream. She introduced him to Yeji, Yeonjun, and her other friends, and they all seemed to get along effortlessly.
But at night, when she lay in bed, the insecurities crept in. She was supposed to be over him. Felix had always been her best friend, nothing more. She had told herself countless times that he would never see her the way she saw him.
Then why does my heart still race when I see him? she thought bitterly, staring at the ceiling. She felt pathetic, like a foolish girl clinging to a hope she had no right to hold onto.
But the moment she saw his face, all those doubts vanished. His smile, his laugh-it was everything she had missed. She couldn't help but wish he was here for her, not just for a job interview....

The towering cakes before him were works of art- fluffy layers of sponge topped with cascades of cream and drizzled with caramel. Felix wandered closer, his tiny feet padding softly against the counter as he admired the vibrant array of oversized confections. With his sugar-wrapper toga securely in place, he bounced slightly on the springy surface of a towering pink cake, marvelling at the wobble beneath his feet. "This is brilliant," he murmured to himself, poking a dollop of whipped cream with a tiny finger. It was all in good fun, really - until his toe sank a bit too far into the cream, nearly toppling him.
But even the sugary marvels couldn't hold his attention for long. A glance over his shoulder revealed Monty and Will standing a little too close, their voices low, their expressions… private. Felix froze. This felt like a moment he wasn't meant to see. The air was filled with so much electricity, it made him blush. He didn't know why - he wasn't the one caught in the crossfire of whatever unspoken words hung between them - but he felt it nonetheless, creeping up his cheeks like the warmth of a crackling fire.
He quickly turned back to the cake, telling himself it wasn't his business to eavesdrop. But a shy glance back to them revealed the unmistakable tension brewing between the Ravenclaw and the Slytherin. The delicate strawberry-pink hue of the Glacial Snow Flake cakes paled in comparison to his face.
And then it happened. Did Monty just…? Felix' eyes widened as he caught a glimpse of what he thought might have been a kiss. The tiny Swede tried to look away. He really tried. But his eyes, traitorous as they were, remained fixed on the scene, just like his feet stayed rooted to the sugary pedestal he stood on.
Did Monty really just kiss Will's neck? Felix' blush deepened to a fiery shade that would've made a cherry lolly proud. His thoughts scrambled, his heart raced, not out of embarrassment for them, but for himself, as though he was a first-year getting caught sneaking into the Restricted Section of the library past curfew. He shuffled awkwardly, the sugar-streaked wrapper around his waist rustling as he adjusted it, trying not to draw attention to himself. His gaze dropped quickly back to the cake. Safer territory. Definitely safer. His focus now trained entirely on the creamy frosting.
The spell was broken when Will abruptly left the shop, the tinkling bell over the door signalling his departure. Felix hesitated but turned in time to see Monty's gaze following the Prefect, an uncharacteristically soft look crossing his features.
The shrunken Ravenclaw let out a small, awkward cough, trying to clear both his throat and the red tinge in his cheeks. Adjusting the sugar-streaked wrapper still tied around his waist he turned back to Theo with a shy smile.
"I see the sweets have managed to stir more than just our appetites today," he said with a hint of teasing as his eyes flicked once more in the other blond's direction before focusing firmly on Theo. If Monty noticed, he made no indication, but Felix could feel the heat rising in his cheeks again regardless.
"Anyway," he added, clasping his frosting-smeared hands together, "do you think it might be a better idea to visit J. Pippin's Potions to, uh, fix this? As much as I've enjoyed being able to see the world from this perspective, I don't think returning to Hogwarts at this size is… ideal."
He gestured vaguely at himself, the wrapper fluttering slightly with the motion. Felix tugged at its edge, glaring at it as though daring it to unravel. "And, erm," he added in a hushed tone, leaning a bit closer to the Hufflepuff, "Perhaps one of you could carry me in one of your pockets? I'm not entirely confident in my ability to keep this wrapper on if the wind gets cheeky again."
Felix couldn't help but flick another glance toward his friend, hoping silently that whatever was brewing between Monty and Will would turn out sweet - just like the cakes surrounding them.
"Good Morning!"
[You hear a trill voice near the northern gate this brisk autumn morning as Theo comes to collect you for your trip to Hogsmeade.
Tea WAS the original agenda and yet...for some reason despite the ability to Floo there, OR ride brooms, you see she’s attempting to maintain the balance of two bikes with a hopeful, albeit slightly sheepish, look on her face.]
"..I figured this would be more fun. It’s such a nice Fall day out! Why rush it..? OH… unless..do you.. know how to ride a bike?!"
[She looks nervous all of a sudden as if suddenly realizing there is potentially part of the plan not quite thought out. Monty has already agreed to meet you all in Hogsmeade....and perhaps he’s smarter for it.]
[Felix' heart skipped a beat as he spotted Theo near the northern gate, her trill voice cutting through the crisp autumn air. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of her, her enthusiasm infectious.
But as his gaze shifted to the two bikes beside her, a flicker of concern danced in his eyes. He hoped against hope that she wouldn't suggest what he feared she would...
To his dismay, Theo's words confirmed his suspicions. She wanted to ride bikes to Hogsmeade instead of using the more conventional methods. Felix' eyebrows shot up in surprise, his mind racing to come up with a response. He didn't want to disappoint her, but the truth was, he had never learned how to ride a bike!
Rubbing the back of his head sheepishly, Felix met Theo's nervous gaze with an embarrassed smile.]
"I'm sorry…"
[His voice was laced with a touch of self-deprecation. Felix's heart sank a little, worried that he had disappointed Theo with his lack of bike-riding skills. He had always been more comfortable with brooms, but bikes were a foreign concept to him...]

#miraculous ladybug#mentor au#felix sphinx#richard sphinx#A Matter of Trust#josie's art#i'm aware the timeline is all over the place but in my defence so is the canon show lmao#the idea is that felix and bri's growing friendship has taken about a year#so actually this story starts in 1995 with felix moving to paris; he gets the ring in early 1998 and NOW it's late 1999#blame it on felix being an unreliable narrator because he's nervous around adrien and keeps forgetting details#i refuse to take responsibility for my own errors when i can blame it on a depressed catboy in thigh boots :V

My delusional mind at 1 am series:
Instead of sleeping as I should, I decided to watch "New Moon" behind the scenes and well, I am lucky I am alone because of this
That arm........💪🏼 and hand 🖐🏼
I am speechless, flabbergasted, 🫠, 🥵. WHAT! Im telling you my obsession with Felix arms is not okay anymore. And then I am hit with another angle
That arm just got thicker. Again I am speechless, flabbergasted, 🫠, 🥵 all over again. This is why I say Felix is a beast of a man, like damn, my delusional mind it trying to process this still. I just might have to have to write a whole one shot of reader being obsessed with Felix arm or something at this point because the amount of blogs I have seen of people obsessing over Felix hands is real. It makes me feel reassured I am not alone with this.
Anyways I will also show this for fun
Him holding a tiny fan with his BIG hand.
