one of my favourite things is when a story shows a character or two who is very clearly part of A Group but doesnt show or even really acknowledge that there IS a rest of the group until much later, if at all

been debating with myself about pairing them with seven because 2.3's got an itch to experience and enjoy life way way more than they already do and what can offer that more than a huge loser who doesn't think deep about what he's doing ever. experiencing life without a too much of a care in the world! i haven't decided if it'd be romantic or platonic (or if they'd ever befriend each other to begin with) but if its the former it definitely won't be coming to fruition anytime soon lol

A new theory has arisen!

Hello again friends! Or hello there new friends!

I just wanted to bring up this scene! Here, inside fours head, we see this little playroom. Since there isn’t much said or portrayed regarding it, ill just give two basic theories.

1. This could be where four used to go when he was younger (or when he doesn’t want to socialize) that he created, probably a long time before bfb (given how well decorated everything is) or before four saw bfdi at all considering the total lack of anything bfdi. This could also imply that its been years since hes last entered the room. (Also could explain why he decided not to go in there?) Also, since there are other algebralians on the wall, this could also show how much he genuinely values his fellow algebralians?

2. This was an active commune spot for the algebralians to go into and chill together, which is proven by the evidence that their stuff (at least nines skateboard) is in said room. This can also be further proven if you see the lack of anything bfb or bfdi, which would be weird in a public place. Plus, the algebralians KNOW about fours power to sort of pull people into his head of a pocket dimension, and this could be the reason why (considering there wouldnt be much any other way to really know about it since it wouldnt be used.)

But these two ideas are probably obvious to most. (Oh well.)

i think a lot of people forget that the algebralians are indeed, aliens. like, they have little to no concept of time, or gender, or a lot of the integral parts of human, and by extension, object life.

they’re seemingly from space? four, x, and two all came to goiky from space, although i don’t know about how the other algebralians came to be.

four held the ENTIRE PLANET in his hand. he is without a doubt the strongest algebralian we’ve seen. it’s implied these powers are learned, as we see x is a lot less experienced and has trouble with things that come easy to four, like reviving contestants. two seemingly doesn’t know or is unable to learn, as they use a recovery center like all the other seasons.

then, how did the equation playground come to be? i personally think nine, and possibly the other numbers besides four, x, and two, arrived on goiky long before them. we can see nine has already integrated culturally, since they use a lot of 90s surfer slang. it’s possible four and x didn’t tag along because four was still busy memorizing bfdi, and two never interacts with the other algebralians period.

all algebralians are genderless, despite four and x using he/they, nine using any, etc. algebralians have no concept of gender. they’re also theoretically immortal, nine and six spent 2800 years gathering enough stone to build a boot to kick eight, having witnessed the rise and fall of an empire while they were working. also, no algebralians have ever canonically died (“why is the bfdi mouth everywhere?” is non-canon so it doesn’t count!) further supporting the idea that algebralians are immortal creatures

along with immortality, many of them also possess superpowers, although none of the non-host algebralians have ever actually used their powers, if they have any.

four is the most powerful, with the ability to revive the dead, shoot beams of light from their hands, smash contestants into deformed shapes, and merge into the environment around him, among tons of other things. two possesses similar powers, with telekinesis being the most notable one that four doesn’t have.

two is definitely an outlier. they vent to gaty about their identity problems, about how despite being a number, they hate math. they turned away from their purpose, and as a result i think they were shunned from algebralian society, or left it of their own accord. that could be why they don’t act like the rest of the algebralians. they’re a lot more mature, they keep their emotions in check, they’re not a sadistic murderer nor a childish pushover like four and x are/were. two doesn’t fit in, and that’s why they don’t talk to the rest of the algebralians anymore, why the others don’t know them.

despite algebralians being so dissimilar to us, they are similar only in one aspect. the way they shun those different to them. the ones that don’t conform to how they were “meant” to be, are cast out of where they came from, whether they wanted it or not.

HI!!!! I WANT TO TALK ABOUT BFDI RECOVERY CENTERS!!!!!!! IM DOING IT UNDER THE CUT BECAUSE IM GOING TO RAMBLE!!!! I THINK ABOUT THIS TOPIC WAY MORE THAN ANY OF THE WRITERS EVER HAVE!!!!!!

sometimes i like to wonder how recent of an invention recovery centers are. bc like,,, we've seen time and time again in bfdi that these objects are inherently afraid of death/dying, like thats an instinctual thing they still have, but also they dont seem to care that much about it once it actually happens and sometimes dying -> recovery is seen as the most convenient option LOL

and i feel like a lot of the time these characters dont like, understand the concept of oblivion? whenever they're scared about a lack of recovery centers it comes off more like the kind of grief of a friend suddenly moving away more so than someone being Gone From The World Forever, if that makes sense. they're definitely still really upset, but it seems more like "noo i cant spend time with this person anymore nooo"

its hard to get a read on this stuff because outside of referencing real-world time between episodes they basically only use comically large or small numbers for time (like saying gb wrote a book a billion years ago or callling gelatin six years old because bfdia was six years old at the time). and i also really dont think these characters are coded to be a specific age group, but i personally like to think of most of these characters as part of a recent generation(s?) where recovery centers have been abundantly accessible their entire lives, so they've grown up not really worried about it, but at the same time haven't been around long enough for like, an instinctual fear of death to have entirely left. if that makes sense. theyve also been around long enough for them to just be tossed around anywhere i guess considering firey recovery centers being in the ground is just a completely acceptable theory LOL

i also like to think algebralians were part of the invention process somehow. cause imean. its been shown that recovery is a well known (albeit difficult) skill for them to learn naturally, so a powerful enough number/function would probably have a pretty good understanding of How it actually works, and also uhmmmmm uhh math is a part of engineering or something. Yeah. anyway uh thanks for reading my post im turning reblogs off because im EMBARRASSED because this is just WORD VOMIT maybe someday ill post like, an actually good form of this because i think about recovery centers and bfdi's death psychology way more than i should. if anyone reading this has their own hcs about RCs they should tell me teehee

(This is for the kids or Two and J if they also want to answer) What are some of your favourite things/or activities to do?

Three: I really like playing catch! And you know what I dont like? WHEN DUMB PEOPLE DONT CATCH!

Four: I LOVE WATCHING BFDI!! But I also like hanging out with X! And lately I've been kinda helping J and Two with cooking! I really like it! And math, and teaching others stuff! But my favoritest thing is watching BFDI! And rewatching it! And telling people facts about BFDI!

X: Oh.. I don't know. All the things I like, I like them because I learn them or do them with someone. I think all I do by myself is draw, but also I play and watch Four and the caretakers do cooking, I wish I could help them, because food is so so tasty! And I like taking care of plants, and thinking of stories.. but I dont know my favorite thing.. Oh! I also like weaving baskets! I like baskets a lot.

Y: I like making things! Sometimes Five helps me make them because he knows a lot of stuff, or Six helps designing them! I love making useful things, and reading. And making sure my siblings dont get into trouble..

Five: Reading. That's it, I think?..

Six: I like drawing! And bubbles.. and swimming! And setting things on fire. On that drawing note, I also do scrapbooks and collages and that kind of thing, it gets my style through way better than my own art sometimes!

Eight: Playing poker, loteria, chess, tabletop games, really.

Nine: I-I love skating! And surfing the internet! And.. all those radical cool kid things, yup! I totally don't also kinda like boring things like sewing stuff 'n knitting.. no way, nope, dude!

Ten: Challenges! Helping people, doing new things, new experiences, watching TV if I have to relax, yeah! I'm always up and open to anything anytime!

i like to think recovery centers in bfdi work like a reverse death note where you have to be thinking of the person in question when you type in their name. idk how the machine knows this don't worry about it (does that make algebralians like... reverse shinigami then.... gggod of. life. yeah)
