Your blog made me fall in love w/ bapssidy and subsequently Baptiste and bap is such an interesting character with his redemption storyline. I also really like the New Bloods group, which I credit you for too.

Do you have any fic recs that are bap-centric, or focus on the New Bloods? Whenever I go into the Bap tag he’s commonly a side character, and I don’t even think I’ve seen a single fic about the New Bloods.

I am so sorry that I have dragged you into this hellscape with me, as part of the reason I talk about Bapssidy and the New Bloods is because of the fact that no one else does.

Trust me I have tried-

For New Bloods specifically you could probably find some that focus on one or two specific members, for the entire group though? There is nothing, at least nothing I can find.

As for Baptiste centric fics, a good Bapssidy one I read was "Miss Me? by makobear", it is an explicit fic though, and I honestly don't know what else to suggest. You could probably find some Baptiste centric fics in the Bapweaver and Maugtiste fics but if your looking for platonic fics specifically then I wish you luck as Baptiste suffers from the same problem as a lot of other Overwatch characters, and that is no one pays attention his platonic relationships.

some people are just looking for a scandal so they can be Morally Pure

they have so little control in their life that they try to control as many narratives as they can, and they view the world as so Dark and Sinful the NEED to be Pure or they're part of the problem

they want to be able to look down their nose at the Filthy GenCy shippers with their power imbalances, those Nasty MaugTiste supporters who support abusive relationships, those Wicked SigMoira who just want to watch a woman take advantage of a mentally ill man...

they're so prepared to be offended by an idea that they can't interpret any other story to these relationships, like the couple that meets after he healed and they realize they still have feelings for each other, or the man who realized he was toxic and wants to to better, nor can they think that the man they infantilized is in full control of himself and likes listening to his lover talk about centipedes

they can't Be Wrong because once You're Wrong it means your were Morally Impure and you can never be Pure again

they can't take this frustration out on parents or at work, so they take it out on people online that they never met

i keep seeing people freaking out about ram.yatta as a concept but i can’t tell if it’s actual like canonically textual that they’re brothers or if it’s just people not realizing that zen calls literallt every omnic in the game brother/sister including bastion, orisa, and the pushbot and going off the rails in the same way people go off the rails about sig.moira being ‘inherently abusive’ because they assume that popular fandom interpretation = word of god . genuinely starting to believe it’s just the latter because i’ve yet to find any like, interactions or lore text that explicitly confirms the former that aren’t based on speculation . like the greater ovw community as a whole lately has really been giving ‘short characters are child coded’ level of takes and trying to navigate it is like walking through a minefield
