Personal struggles time! feel free to scroll past~

nothing TOO personal but i feel like i should mention it at least once to just... be transparent about it.

i feel like i struggle too much to draw happily if i have a bunch of eyes watching me. That pressure of expectation (although pressure thats made within my head) has got me in an absolute CHOKEHOLD. i realize now that that's what really got me in a MONTHS long art block.

once i dropped twitter i realized ive been listening to the fans for too long. ive been anticipating projects that the collective have been wanting... and due to the side effects of a perfectionist mindset and struggling to meet unachievable levels ive set for myself, i had been dropped into artblock hell and never got anything done. no commissions, no finished projects, no self indulgent stuff... nothing.

i mean, this might be a huge awakening for me. i should just put MY ideas out there and see if anyone catches on or enjoys my own work. I should just start drawing for me, then maybe.... maybe i'll be able to draw for others too.

drawing a crackship such as Reaper x Ares has made me the most happy in such a long time. no one thought of it, no one wanted it; it was all me! doodling and practicing is what i plan to do more in the future. the road will be rough, the fight will be hard, but i think my soul needed this the most.

TL;DR, dont get a perfectionist mindset. it sucks. do what you love and draw what you love for yourself. give yourself grace first before giving others the same.

In most of your art I felt like Ares' build is skinnier/smaller than Reaper's and I fucking love it

once i saw that fortnite ares' canonical size is smaller than reaper's ive never been the same

More headcanons on Reares (Reapres? Reaper and Ares?) in the studio ;))

Instructions unclear, im just hittin' you with another list of headcanons for them (individually AND together) or just general ideas i have for them >:} :

Although Ares is aligned with Talon ideals, he only ever finds himself interested in Reaper.

Despite popular depiction, I think Fortnite Ares is a lot more reserved than Greek mythos Ares. his design is a lot more well kept than what id expect from a rampant, violent character that would probably show more skin or show their face... maybe thats just me though what do i know lol

I'd like to think Ares accompanies Reaper on his stealth/infiltration missions. he doesnt intervene; hes just there to annoy him and make him flustered while hes working. (maybe he will participate sometimes...)

Reaper subtly gives hints to Ares on his mission statuses and achievements in hopes that Ares would give him praise for them (and he gets a little pouty and mad when Ares doesnt hehe)

Reaper usually naps around Ares when they have time to themselves. he doesnt get nearly as much rest as he needs, being under stress all the time. he feels safest near Ares.

Ares gives lots of body and scar worship to Reaper!!!!!

Do we like the idea of them sparring together at Brawlers Battleground? i think they'd do that.... yeah.... yea they would do that...

They like to impress each other with kill counts, dedicating each slaughter to the other. (that one mauga and reaper interaction fueled this HC LOLL).

Ares talks in all caps on any device on any platform. Also his voice is naturally loud even when hes whispering. just always at full, booming volume.

Reaper mostly sends gifs of his bitmoji or animals doing angry reactions instead of texting. his texts are short and always end with those ominous periods, like youre texting your grandpa.

Reaper is a Fall person and Ares is a Summer person

THE MASKS STAY ON DURING EVERYTHING. even change of clothes. (maybe ill draw them in other stuff :P)

Headcanons!! yes of course. though i dont have too many right now, here's a few!

Two extremely short-tempered individuals with an unquenchable hunger for bloodshed... truly a match made in hell

I do like to portray them as fluffy and cute with each other but i think realistically they'd be the most toxic pair 😭😭 im at constant war with these two ideas

Ares is the teaser. though they either start fighting or Reaper is too flustered/embarrassed to do anything about it.

Reaper always makes back-handed comments towards people, even to people he cares about. so all the love he shows is physical towards Ares (i.e. light head-butting, cuddles, hand squeezes)

They kill for each other <3 like cats bringing dead things to their owner's front doorstep.

Theyre fond of each others' method of murd3r; Ares likes the gracefulness and swiftness of Reaper and Reaper likes the ruthlessness and destructiveness of Ares. both see each other as admirable and strong in their own way

theyre both switch

I could probably think of more later but thats all i got :,)
