I won't be able to finish this drawing before the convention, which will take up my next 5 days.. But I want to talk a little about him.. I've been thinking about golems and Frankenstein, and the trans body, projection and misunderstanding, villainization and death.

The concepts of Frankenstein's monster and the golem have been swimming in my head for a while, and their lore intertwining.. The tragedy of existing being seen as a monster no matter how you try,.. And the Golem, a protector of his people and a servant whose only flaw always rang a bit close to home as an an autistic person-- being too literal in execution of his orders. He's tired and struggles with a yearning for death. His havdalah candles will be out.. The first flame of the week, a spark of starting over again-- The flame brings him fear. As much as he's kept himself together he doesn't know how much longer he can keep doing it, he fears failure- but the fear of what may happen if he's gone is even more terrifying. He's lived a long life, and over time the one who formed him has sculpted him to the golem's own wishes.. From nothing to the man he is- but even with that effort, to outsiders he's still a monster. His skin is different shades of clays from varying riverbeds as his people have travelled.. Golems are unformed, imperfect.. but even as outsides can be polished the insides can still be broken

Can I ask how Vasco reacted to hearing about Machete’s assassination? :o did he put on a brave face? Was he inconsolable? Does he imagine that if he were there, he could’ve done something (even if that isn’t true? I imagine it would be tortuous mentally and emotionally for him, poor lad

He most likely went through a mental breakdown, followed by years of paralyzing grief and depression. Vasco had proven to be outstandingly resilient and optimistic in adversity, putting on a brave face was his second nature. But this was his final 'break the unbreakable' moment. He turned withdrawn and apathetic. He had never lost anyone this abruptly before, and he became visibly paranoid about the safety and health of his family while failing to look after his own wellbeing.

Of course he kept rewinding the events in his head and second-guessing himself about whether he could've prevented this outcome somehow, even when everyone who knew about his situation kept telling him there was no reason for him to blame himself for it. He struggled with the suddenness of it, and the lack of closure, and couldn't get over thinking how the love of his life had died alone, surprised, scared and in pain, and that there was absolutely nothing he could do to remedy that. Ludovica's support was invaluable to him. Since he couldn't mourn openly she was one of the few people who were there for him.

Eventually he came to terms with what had happened and learned to live with it, and even though he slowly regained his good-humoured personality, he never fully recovered back to his previous self.

he also has admitted he wants to take the US back to the way it was in the 1700s - when women couldn't vote, slavery was legal and bounties were paid to people who brought in the scalps of indigenous people they'd murdered.

A Matter of Life and Death- is Good Omens

According to Douglas Mackinnon: “Michael's character's voice [Aziraphale] is based on David Niven in A Matter of Life and Death. I think he'd say that himself, that it's a huge influence at least, if not based on.”

“There's one particular scene where he definitely went all the way into David Niven, in the pub scene. You know, that's there.”

What’s particularly interesting is that Powell and Pressburger were not that visibly apparent until season 2 of Good Omens, yet there were bits already intermingled in season 1.

In which his favorite romantic scene happens to be one where mostly talking is involved:

And knowing that his speech was greatly influenced by David Niven and thus part of it incorporated into Aziraphale, what can we say about Crowley, whose hairstyle when they first ever meet is inspired on Kim Hunter?

In a way, they have always been embodying this love story from A Matter of Life and Death. Perhaps not exactly the characters, but indeed the love between them. Not to mention the countless references to the film that seeped into Good Omens 2.

There is no doubt as to the ending of these two. “Nothing is stronger than the law in the universe, but on Earth, nothing is stronger than love." Ultimately, it is love that ties Good Omens together.

Puss In Boots: The Last Wish may be one of, if not, the best movie in the past decade that truly shows what proper character development actually goes.

While I do love the voice acting of Antonio Banderas giving a near authentic yell of desperation and fear.

The thing I love the most about this scene is that Puss is so determined to get his wish out of fear. He's completely lost all composure and is thinking and speaking irrationally. The famed "Fearless Hero" is trembling out of fear.

Especially this scene here where he struggles why he needs the wish.

He's so afraid and desperate to get the wish that his reasoning to have it was to continue being "The Legend", completely removing Kitty and everyone else out of the picture.

Like I previously mentioned, he lost all composure, he's trembling, stuttering, being irrational, and most of all afraid. It's the complete opposite of what he was in the beginning. The notion of only having one life has changed him dramatically.

It's only later on when he faces Death and realizes that he's no longer fighting to continue his legacy. He's now fighting for his one and only remaining life. To live life to the fullest.

Armed with courage and bravery. He no longer shows fear, instead he faces Death like the way he faced bigger foes before, like the Fearless Hero we know we love.

Before: "I don't want to die."

Now: "I want to live."

This movie is a masterclass of writing character development and I'm loving every second of it!

the webcomic can have one (1) funny "earnest moment interrupted by comedy" joke. as a treat. but also because it is so in character for them ajkshdjkas

yes they will say the most earnest shit to each other and then immediately try to cringe out of their own bodies. they are best friends but they would rather jump out of a window before admitting it. they are incredibly devoted and grateful to one another but you could not water board that out of either of them.

the only thing that can get either of them to admit how much they care for each other is if the other is in life threatening danger and not a second before aakjshdks
