An hour late is kinda late for a house party but also I don't think we have a big culture of like huge house parties like in the us, the party I imagined was like. An aperitivo thing with a few friends. But still like an hour late is not the end of the world for a normal house party, dinner parties is where you can be fifteen minutes late tops.

The ones who truly terrify me are the ones answering "I'm coming in early and helping you set up!!!!" I know you think you're doing me a favour but you are Satan. You are shaming me in front of my ancestors. You are spitting on my grave and I'm not even dead. Like. If YOU invite ME and your norm is to be early and help i will adapt. And if I invite YOU I can accept arriving on time if thats the norm where you live and you cannot physically survive being late. but if you show up early "to help" you are basically telling me "hey I think you are a bad host and stupid and also you suck and your mom sucks too for raising you to suck so much". This is like that thing going around a while ago about helping in the kitchen when you're invited for dinner - I'll adapt if you invite me and that's the norm where you are but if I invite you for dinner and you dare show up early with the intention to set foot in my kitchen while I am actively cooking I will throw boiling oil at you from the window like I'm fucking repelling a siege
