i am trying to find info on Mine’s relationship with kanda but im coming up a bit sparse...i read a rily good fic once that touched on the subject, it was a character analysis and i really liked how it explained how mine values people by their abilities, their worth to society, their worth to him. I liked how brash and sloppy kanda was, it really made Mine look especially stuffy in comparison. (I unfortunately don’t remember what it was called nor can i find it but.. whatever that is fine!)
I really like when his stuffiness is more defined, he’s obviously not afraid to work, or get dirty, but it’s clear that violence is a bit frustrating to him. I think it’s a timely thing for him, such a waste of energy sorta thing. Rather than a moral matter ofc. It’s just more efficient to talk or to bribe. I also like how much less boastful he is than other antagonists, hes not all “look at me, look what i am, how powerful i am” he knows his worth. He says it himself “im much stronger than i look”.
I dont remember if its mentioned in game but i wonder if he beheaded kanda himself or had someone else do it, i believe its only mentioned that he had people murder kanda for him (obviously i have no idea if this is true and its a bit too grotesque for me to fact check but i image beheading him alive would be quite difficult so im assuming hes killed and then beheaded). I think it adds to his character either way, part of me thinks he would think that kanda wasn't worth his effort that his hands would be sullied if they touched him. But i could also see him doing it himself, the beheading is an apology after all, an act of good faith if you will, and i could see doing it himself being important to mine. I think it'd be some twisted form of sincerity? Obviously its not just an apology though. It's a threat. I think doing it himself makes more sense also i dont see him feeling too much towards kanda to be THAT disgusted by him, he wouldnt be worth that effort ykk.. (also not insane btw i think this is a valid form of character analysis!!)
His mortality is so interesting to me, this is super cliche but i really like when characters hate "weak" people bc they themselves were "weak" people, they ve convinced themselves that the blame is within themselves and not that they simply just got the short end of the stick. It's no wonder that mine met 1 person who was kind and compassionate just... because, and yeah... mine yoshitaka u will always be famous to me.
A bit random to throw in at the end, but yakuza 3 is a bit romantic hm? In a way.. if you squint!

“…to me” is one of the most powerful disclaimers we have on here… is this character analysis accurate? debatable. but it’s real… to me.

I'm jumping off a bridge. Their backstory is so tragic, I can't.
The fact that even Queenie being in the state she was, Kinger still found humanity in her, the fact that he risked his life knowing she could go crazy and attack him just so he could touch her one last time.
Tumblr media
And the fact that Queenie allowed him to do it, the fact that she was able to keep control as a abstracted just so she could feel him. Because she loved him and he loved her back and both of them knew her fate, but in that moment, it was just them, their last moment together so both made it work.
Tumblr media
This is such a powerful image I want to hug both of them.

this post was the catalyst for this comic, and i was also thinking of a desi song lyric (tere dil ke sheher mein ghar mera ho gaya / in the city of your heart, my home is made) and just... hmmm.... leaving your mark.... making a house into a home..... when the marks a child inevitably leaves behind (messes, scribbles, and in this case stickers) eventually fade away as they grow older and you're left with the memories stored in what hasn't been erased....
im not verbalizing it very well but catch my drift?

Two things can be and are true at once.
Robin Jason was a sweet, kind kid who cared about victims. He also had righteous rage and violent tendencies towards those he thought deserved it.
Being Robin gave him magic and as Robin he shattered a man's collarbone with no remorse.

my roman empire is the fact that dr. ratio couldn't get into the genius society because of how much he cares for others. my roman empire is the fact that the way that he loves and has too much empathy will be his own downfall. my roman empire is the fact that he spent so long thinking that he was enough only to be hit with the reality that the world and life is cruel and his heart is too soft for the universe he was born into.
my roman empire is that dr. ratio cares. he cares so damn much. he loved too much that it held him back from his ultimate goal.
dr. ratio they could never make me hate you.

Brennan’s talked before about how as a poor young adult he lived in New York and struggled with food security. He tells a story of going to frozen yogurt places for free samples and a cheap dumpling spot because it was a lot of food.
His opinions on food and his described behaviours around food make a lot of sense in that context. He may be successful now and can be assured he can eat again when he’s hungry, but it appears he has legitimate trauma around his experiences with poverty because what he’s humorously describing is a trauma response. His mind hasn’t gotten rid of the anxiety of “I’m eating now so I better make it count because I don’t know when I will again.”
Because he’s a comedian he manages to frame it as a joke, but there’s certainly an underlying sadness. It also informs Evan Kelmp’s characterization. Capitalism is the root issue here and poverty is state-sanctioned economic abuse.
Anyway, I hope he’s doing well and taking care of himself.

The tight writing in Gravity Falls just gets crazier and crazier because Alex Hirsch in the director’s commentary of Dipper & Mabel vs. the Future (11:25) says:
“Ford sees Dipper as someone who’s special like himself. That’s Ford’s great flaw, is arrogance. Is he believes that there’s special people, and everyone else. That human attachments are actually weaknesses. And the song and dance that he’s giving Dipper right now, is the song and dance that he gave McGucket, back when they were younger… ‘You and me are different, we’re better than everyone else. We have a path that no one else can understand, and only us can do this.’ It’s a very seductive idea for Dipper… Dipper is a smart kid, but Ford’s projecting. Ford loves Dipper because he sees someone who’ll tell him ‘yes’ to everything. Who’ll never challenge him, who’ll do a really insane dangerous mission.”
I CAN’T BE THE ONLY ONE WHO’S SEEING THE BILL -> FORD -> DIPPER PIPELINE HERE. YOU CAN JUST REPLACE THE NAMES IN THE ABOVE QUOTE. I’M GOING INSANE.
Gravity Falls and the cycle of “Hey, person who feels outcast from your society like me, you’re special, fuck human connection, join me and be something great!”

Gojo Satoru visiting Kugisaki nobara while she is in coma, sitting next to her, and talking to her. Gojo Satoru swapping souls with Yuta okkotsu, teaching him everything he knows about his cursed technique. Gojo Satoru hiding Sukuna's last finger to indefinitely postpone Yuji's execution. Gojo Satoru who bore the burden of being a monster, killed all the higher ups alone because he refused to let his students watch such gruesome sights. Gojo Satoru who believed he would win right til the end. Gojo Satoru who died knowing his students had got it from there, that they would be able to save Fushiguro Megumi. Gojo Satoru who let his body be used as puppet after his death. Gojo Satoru who died knowing all his students would be saved.

I'm obsessed with how Astation regresses once you enter Baulders Gate.
Specifically, when Tav says "I just want you to be happy." And he basically says "Ah! and letting me trick and kill my fellow spawn would make me so, so happy. You said you wanted me to be happy right? You want this to happen too. This is really for us, you want what's best for us, surly." Its sooo good. I was honestly surprised and very disappointed in him in that scene, but it made so much sense and I love it.
Hes flailing, and terrified and that's when hes his worst self. When hes scared hes ruthless, selfish, mean and manipulative. "I'm not soft, cuddly Astarion! I'm scared! I do bad things! This is how I've made it so far!" Hes back to trying to play you like a fiddle, but Tav can see through it so easily and understand him much better.
Such smart storytelling.
