Other great hits:
* Selfcest? I think you mean *incest.*
* That bi character is gay actually.
* 18/anything under is pedophilia
* Writing about two child characters as adults is *also* pedophilia
* If you write about a young adult in a position of power and an adult that they have power over, that's pedophilia.
* In fact, any kind of problematic or complicated power dynamics is bad. Don't write about that, it means you support it.
* Writing about something sexual that's """bad""" without specifying "I don't actually support this" means you do. You can write about cannibalism or murder or physical/emotional child abuse without a disclaimer though.
* Additionally, you still support bad/"bad" sex acts *even if you portray them as harmful in the narrative.*
* Liking a villain means you support their crimes and actions 100%
* If you see any shred of goodness in them, you support them 100%
* If you think the villain is hot, you support them 100%
* A character can be a Nazi even in a universe without Germany, Judaism, Hitler, WWII, or even earth!
* Fictional rape is worse than fictional murder (even the fictional murder of fictional children)
* If you prefer a white/white ship instead of a white/POC ship, you're racist actually. (Chemistry? What's that?)
* If you prefer an m/f ship to f/f or m/m ship, you're homophobic.
* If you headcanon a character in a same sex relationship as bi, you're homophobic. *Especially* if you prefer to see them with a character of the opposite sex. (No it doesn't matter if you're bi, shut up!)
* If you write a relationship between a consenting adult teacher/boss/team leader and their consenting adult student/worker/subordinate, that's inherently abusive and you should stop. Or do you *support* that kind of thing, you sick freak?
* If you write about two teenage characters doing the nasty, it doesn't matter what the circumstances are, that's pedophilia. Even if you're a teenager and they're older than you.
* If you write a character as genderswapped and they're not trans, you're transphobic.
A List of Problematic™ Things
(All Takes I Have Actually Seen)
• Childhood Friends to Lovers? Practically Incest! • Two characters share the same (extremely distant) ancestor? Literally incest! Bad and wrong! • Platonic familial affection and intimacy? Suspicious. • “Sworn Brothers”? You guessed it! Incest.
• Height/size difference? Suspicious. • Two 17 year olds? You should have just made them adults. • But also aging up characters is Not Allowed. • 30+ year old with a much older character? Ew, age gap! • Puppy crushes? Illegal.
• Enemies to Lovers is Abuse, • and you should never redeem or sympathize with Villains/Abusers/The Bad People.
• Monsterfuckers? Zoophilia. Or necrophilia, if it’s vampires or whatever. The point is you’re wrong. And bad. >:(
“Wow what can they read? Only the fluffiest Coffeeshop/Soulmate/HC?”
• Coffeeshop AUs? Romanticizes workplace harassment. And gentrification. • Soulmate AUs? Amatonormative. Supports predetermination. • Hurt/comfort? Why would you want to hurt the characters? Freak.
Also:
• Straight ships are heteronormative. • But queer ships are fetishizing. • It’s very simple!
And even:
• You need the original media creator’s consent to write fanfic. Anne Rice was Valid, actually!

i literally cannot wait until there is actually other life sim games like the sims that are actually publicly available to play!!! like Tiny Life is out now and i do definitely want to play it but... come 2024 we might have Life by You and perhaps Vivaland in our hands... also i am Really Really awaiting Paralives as well i am PRAYING for a release date to be announced. like i will exercise as much patience as i can but tbh ts4 is depriving me (i only have base game + my first pet stuff + desert luxe kit so i dont have 95% of the gameplay i want .) and i would love to just be able to have something else to play too??
#blaire.txt#lby is coming in march 2024 i think and i am EXCITED i hope it is good when it comes out... i am tempted#and i dont. know much about vivaland but MULTIPLAYER LIFE SIM??? IM INTRIGUED#finally . my friends can watch me build square houses in real time#i am still incredibly interested in Tiny Life tbh... i played the demo and its really cute 🥺#it really is tiny life... wow...#and its moddable!!!! plus since its pixel art i could probably pretty easily mod in custom clothes and hairs and stuff#life sims being moddable is so important btw like actually. i genuinely think since like#life sims are so open-ended and customizable by design that NOT having mod support is genuinely a HUGE downside#though of course ts4 also. doesnt have official mod support or modding tools which is a bummer but i mean#ive simply accepted that the sims series just. will never have official modding support#especially with the new one supposedly being f2p 😰#THIS IS NOT A SIMS 4 HATE POST I SWEAR its just . i really wish it was just a 40-60$ game#and all the dlc content was just INCLUDED in the base game for that price#i genuinely would be 100% okay with that price!!! sure its a bit expensive but like#COMPARED TO 1000+ USD FOR THE FULL GAME + DLC EXPERIENCE ITS . A LOT BETTER#like ill happily pay for ur game!!!! but i will Not get out a literal Loan to be able to afford it#sigh. anyways i am really looking forward to the new life sims coming out!!!#i think lby will probably come out first so im excited to get my hands on it hehe

Hi! I'm not sure if you are currently taking requests, so feel free to ignore mine if you aren't! If you are taking them, however, would you please write something for King Baldwin IV overhearing reader sing and falling further in love with her because of her soft and sweet voice? Upon realizing that he's there, she becomes extremely flustered and apologizes for disrupting his peace and quiet. Thank you!
King Baldwin IV x reader - Sweetest of melodies
A/N: omg it’s been so long since I’ve received a request! I can’t lie, Baldwin is my supreme comfort character, I think I’ll never stop writing fro him because it gives me sooo much joy😩😩😩 I personally like to think of this piece as taking place a few months after Baldwin’s and reader’s wedding, so it could be considered a sequel for my first fic ever. Also, the song mentioned in this piece is a real song from the 12th century called "Can vei la lauzeta" (in English,"When I see the lark") by Bernart de Ventadorn, and the painting is "Lovers in a garden" by Charles Edward Perugini!!
Oh btw!! I’m working on a long ass series about him, based off of a prompt by @phantomsghoulette which I absolutely LOVED. Sooo all the KoH fans stay tuned for future updates🤭
Warning: nothing really, just pure fluff. Maybe you could say that religious innuendos could be something triggering for some people but I don’t know. There might be ONE, SLIGHTLY spicy mention but only if you squint really really hard. Also, keep in mind that the historical accuracy in my fics is rather relative, I try to add some details here and there but I don’t have the knowledge (nor the skills) to write a piece 100% accurate to the real history. Also, reader’s gender is female and uses she/her pronouns!!
Word count: 2918
Someone would say Baldwin's patience could already be put to test by only his illness, which she ruthlessly does not grant him a moment's respite, the eternal enemy of his body and his spirit. But no, to this perpetual torment of his had to be added the perilous duties of a king. And it was certainly not governing his people and lands that sucked what little energy he had left; this duty of his, given by his father and willed by divine design, he had long since embraced.
It was the nobles, the leeches who had drained him of his lifeblood lately. It was their endless demands, the insidious words that hissed behind his back, the languid bows and sleazy gifts designed only to gain some favor from him. Looking around him, he seemed to see only vices and sinners, power-hungry beasts just waiting for his moment of weakness so they could feed on what Baldwin had under his power.
In fact, not without reason in the past the young monarch had attempted to abdicate the throne and leave it in the hands of one of his sisters, rid himself of this burden and devote the rest of his short life taking care of his declining health and to nurture his mind away from so much corruption. At times he dreamed of retiring to France, experiencing for the first time that cold climate and verdant landscape of which his preceptors and advisors told him so much.
In fact, not without reason in the past the young monarch had attempted to abdicate the throne and leave it in the hands of one of his sisters, rid himself of this burden and devote the rest of his short life taking care of his declining health and to nurture his mind away from so much corruption. At times he dreamed of retiring to France, to experience for the first time that cold climate and verdant landscape of which his preceptors and advisors told him so much.
And he dreamed of taking you with him, imagined how sweet his life would be if his only concerns were taking care of his health and you, faithful wife, sole blessing in his life battered by such burdens. How he would wish that his days would revolve around you, that his first thought in the morning would be riding by your side through the flourishing meadows, and his last thought in the evening would be caressing your face as you lie slumbering in his arms.
It would have been a blissful fate his, if only Sybilla's husband had not died at the very moment when he would have needed him most. If only his mother had not convinced him that Guido de Lusignan was a good fit for his sister and had continued to seek a new consort for her, perhaps that fate would not have been snatched from him so early. Too late to repent now, for Baldwin would have preferred to die agonizingly on his throne rather than leave power in the hands of that bumptious and arrogant lord, who was noble only in title.
And so he found himself in this sort of hellish limbo, forced into a position that should never be required of a man in his condition, but prevented by his morality from abandoning his reign, impelled by faith in God's greater plan, that his suffering should not be in vain.
And his faith always seemed to strengthen when he had a way to escape the stifling air that characterized the throne room, always packed with knights and crusaders and nobles, when he had a way to retreat to the palace gardens, one of the few verdant places in all of Jerusalem.
With slow, swaying steps, Baldwin strolled slowly among the local palm trees and flower beds from the faraway lands, those where men speak Italian and the more distant ones, those from which his fathers came. Exotic fruits mingled with those more congenial to the French, who out of nostalgia for their lands and fields did what they could to bring the seeds of these plants with them to overseas.
His mind seemed to go out, shifting his attention from the constant buzz of court demands and duties to the chirping of birds perched on the roof, to the eviction of the soft branches that shielded him from the scorching sun. He enjoyed the refreshing air that reigned in that small oasis of greens, which was able to infiltrate the fabric of his white robes, crossing the bandages that covered much of his body and finally reaching his skin, numbed by leprosy.
To tell the truth, of that refreshing sensation little reached his damaged nerves, if not for those few points that had been spared by the merciless disease, from which departed that unusual shiver that caused him a delicate smile of relief, enjoying the refreshing breeze. Then he closed his eyes and breathed in, discovering with satisfied surprise that that light gust was also a harbinger of an intoxicating perfume, a mixture of exotic and familiar.
How funny to think of the concept of "exotic", for an Angevin born and raised in the unknown lands of the east. For him it was exotic French fruit, exotic were the green plains and heavy clothing that brought his allies from the northwest, and equally alien to the snowy mountains and forest beasts that he saw drawn in detail in his childhood books. It was these changes of perspective that stimulated his mind in a myriad of thoughts and reflections, but in a pleasurable way for him, not as exhausting as his daily duties.
His reflections on exotic and local made his mind travel, wandering until he came to a subject very close to him: Muslims and Jews, reflecting well on the landscape in front of him, recognized that he could share with them the same concepts of what is foreign and what they can claim the original belonging. And he could not but reflect on how it must have been for the first inhabitants of Jerusalem to observe the Franks who came as conquerors, and filled their gardens with such foreign plants as those pale warriors who had taken possession of their dwelling... But after all, the French soldiers who were emissaries of God’s will needed something familiar to stabilize them as they fought to reclaim the Promised Land, ut Deus voluit.
But all his brooding over these matters of conquest and submission ended up in the background in his mind, when a colorful scarlet sphere caught his attention. An exquisitely red apple seemed to tempt him from a branch just above his head, beckoning him to be picked and savored by the king, that he might lose himself in the juicy sweetness of that fruit with origins so far removed from the Holy Land. But the king's modesty prevented him from yielding to that temptation, wanting to avoid exposing the advanced state of deterioration in which his mouth was.
And in fact if that temptation had been alive it would have pale in front of something much more captivating, a sound that echoed in the most melodious distance of the song of any nightingale. Baldwin was surprised to think that he had not realized before the melody that inibriated the atmosphere around him, so taken by the tribulations of his mind that he almost missed such an intoxicating song. He did not know what he felt once he arrived in Heaven, if he had ever arrived in spite of the unjust fate in Hell that the evil Saracens wished him. He didn’t know it, but if one ever had to imagine what Heaven sounded like, that song would come to mind.
When I see the lark beating
Its wings in joy against the rays of the sun
That it forgets itself and lets itself fall
Because of the sweetness that comes to its heart
She sang in Occitan, the beautiful one in the distance. The voice of his people, of his lineage, that few in the palace can pronounce after so many years of distance from their homeland in Provence. Paying more attention to the echoing song, he would not even have had to approach it to give a face to that melodic voice: he knew how to recognize his wife’s voice.
Yet it was a new context in which he saw you, new facets of you that he had not yet had a chance to observe. Your voice, sweet as honey, venerable like all your other traits, he had never heard it except in speech, when you were proclaiming orders before your subjects with the authority fit for a queen, or when you laughed at the poems and performances of the court singers, or when you whispered in Baldwin’s ears sweet words, while you lay with bodies merged between the soft silk sheets. Always spoken, but never sung.
Alas! Such great envy then overwhelms me
Of all those whom I see rejoicing,
But though he didn’t need to approach you to recognize you, the desire to see your face exceeded any of his other needs. As if mesmerized by the sound of a siren, Baldwin was advancing towards you, with steps so slow that it seemed a hunter about to catch a deer in the woods. He wanted nothing more than to hear you sing again, that you continue to bless him with that angelic melody. What worse sin would there be than to interrupt your song, more sacred than a prayer?
His stomach filled with butterflies and turned upside down like the beasts' jugglers, his breath seemed to stop in his throat, depriving him of the breath he no longer needed, as long as he could hear you sing a moment more. And her cheeks warmed, when finally she saw you among the white lilies, more beautiful than divine salvation.
I wonder that my heart, at that moment,
Does not melt from desire.
Baldwin wondered if you sang with him in mind, if those words of love reflected your own emotional turmoil.
Oh, if only it were so, and your singing equalled his own words inscribed in the sonnets and poems he composed in your honor, which he himself commissioned from your favorite singers to perform at banquets, only to steal an embarrassed smile and to see the blush of your cheeks, along with the glint in your eyes.
Whether it was or not, the outcome remained the same since he was at that moment in your proximity, in the same state mixed with adoration, love and wonder at the bold gesture. But if only he had confirmation from your words...
Alas! How much I thought I knew
About love, and how little I know,
Because I cannot keep myself from loving
The one from whom I will gain nothing.
"My angel, your voice sounds like heaven but your words are false." Baldwin practically saw you blow up from your session, completely taken aback by his sudden appearance, unaware that your husband has been acting as a secret public all this time. Your initial surprise quickly turns into a laugh to mask your embarrassment for being caught in a moment like this, when you thought you were alone to be able to run the streets of music with your voice.
"I beg your pardon, I thought I was alone in the gardens," your eyes met his own only for a moment, before you turned your face to try and hide the blush of your face, "it was just a silly song I heard singing to the Provençal knights. I hope I did not disrupt your walk, my love..”
He laughed softly, trying to hide his amusement from having caught you off guard. He approached you more quickly than when he did just a few moments before, but with the same phlegm that managed to inspire a feeling of safeness in you. Sitting by your side on the bare rock, he raised his bandaged hand to gently cup your face and make you turn your eyes towards him. It was only then, when you had no choice but to look at Baldwin in the face that you noticed how his eyes, the only part of his face exposed to the outside world, formed two half-moons, and you came to find that it was because of how widely he was smiling, as you lowered the veil from his face.
He was making fun of you, you realized. With that swagger in his manner, you understood that his amusement came from your embarrassment at that silly misunderstanding. Laughing softly, he gently shook his head before bringing both hands to your face, holding it as if it were the most sacred of relics. "As much as I would love to hear you sing of your affection for me, just to hear your voice echoing in the air is the sweetest of gifts. How could you deprive me of this blessing thus far, my dear?"
You could do nothing but giggle at his sweet words, bringing your hands to his wrists to feel him closer to you. "You flatter me, my king. My voice boasts nothing more than those sweet melodies that the singers in the palace sing. Mine is only a dabble."
His gaze softened, his playful spirit addicted to your presence. He took the floor again, in a tone as soft as cotton, "At least this once, my queen, allow me to disagree with your words. My life may be short and my reality small, but never have I heard such an angelic voice, singing such sweet melodies. And God may not yet have granted me the ability to predict the future, but in my heart I know well that never will any singer be able to hold a candle to your beautiful voice, never will any song be able to express the same feeling of ecstasy.
"You, my angel, have managed to make a simple ballad an absolute work of art through your voice. I think I should take you with me into battle next time, for with your mere voice you could addict Saladin and his entire army.
"And seeing you here, angelic and perfect like the lilies that surround you, singing so softly that it would make any bird jealous, that I realize that whatever toil, whatever challenges God has stored up for me, and all those that still await me in my life, are worth it, if at the end of each of them there is you, voice of an angel, to hold a place for me in your arms of heaven."
You were sure you were on the verge of crying a flood of tears, the result of pure emotion at his sweet words. It was not new to you that Baldwin worshipped you as much as the God to whom his kingdom was consecrated, from the first moment he got to hear your voice and admire your face, and you knew at once that he had become yours, body and soul. But it was new to you to see him like that, completely entranced by your simple being-it was something new. A wonderful newness that made you feel like the most desired of women on this earth.
Taken by a rush of boldness, you practically jumped into his arms, wrapping your arms around his neck; you ended up on top of him, with his hands around your hips. You both laughed, like two little boys frolicking in the gardens. And you left a kiss on his left cheek, then on the bridge of his nose. A kiss again on his forehead, and then down on the side of his lips. When you were about to give him another kiss, just where he most yearned for your lips, against his, you stopped a few inches away, with a wide smile, before speaking again, "If so little is enough to make your happiness, then I will sing to you every day, whenever you ask. Let me be your nightingale, your morning song and your lullaby all at once!"
"I couldn't wish for anything else, my dear. Now, however, I beg you, sing one more melody for me, before my duties drag me back to the palace, and I shall consider myself a blessed man."
"With great pleasure, my love." Your voice was now little more than a whisper. With a languid movement, Baldwin moved his body to rest his head on your lap, and you eagerly greeted him. After slightly moving the hood that veiled his head, so that you could play with his golden locks, you began to sing a new melody, one that this time spoke of reciprocated love, of the joy of being able to hold your loved one in your arms. But the words you sang barely reached Baldwin before his sky-colored eyes closed softly, his mind giving him at least a moment's despite from his perilous life. You continued to sing, caressing his face, which from day to day appeared more and more mutilated by his disease, singing the sweetest of melodies so as to prolong this idyll in which you and your husband found yourselves in.
For with you Baldwin had a way of putting the crown aside, and being nothing more than a foolish young man in love, whose only duty was to love you, to love you with all the love that an angel like you deserved.
@sweetworkoffiction hope you like it <3

Sukuna Can't Tell the Time (The unique way Sukuna is damned to eternal miscommunication and existentialism in the modern era.)
Notes before we start.
1) I will be mainly using the TCB scans for the manga because of their accessibility.
2) I need professional help.
Preface
I want to get one thing out of the way. This is going to be a weird write-up because I'm hardly going to cite the manga.
I'm basically posting this as a reference for myself. All of this occurred so I could properly lean into the old man aspect of Sukuna for a fic I'm writing. (Aka I read too much on actual Heian Era history and now you all have to suffer.)
People often joke that Sukuna is an old man, but I'm here to tell you he is so out of touch and out of time that he might as well be existing in a never-ending Lovecraftian nightmare where time has stopped being real.
It's going to take a while to explain why this is the case so hear me out, maybe?
Fundamental Measurements
What is a unit of measurement? And where did these units come from? If you've taken an entry level physics class, you've already been through the existential crisis answering these questions caused.
But for the uninitiated, have you ever sat down and asked yourself why you know what a foot/meter is? Everyone has kind of agreed they represent a specific distance, and depending on where you were raised, you'll prefer one over the other.
I'm an American. I'm also an engineer. I have to use SI Units and Freedom Units all the time. Differing distance units are things I can easily conceptualize. I understand what a meter is. It's like 3.3 feet.
Every time I hear meter, my brain does the conversion to 3.3 feet because I was raised with feet as my base unit of measurement. But oddly enough, when I hear 100 meters, I instantly know how far that is. This is because I was a sprinter for all of Jr. High and High School. When someone says 100 meters, I picture the got danged torture stretch of the 300 meter hurdles.
The point of this is to establish that early life experiences become a reference point when thinking about things as an adult. If I didn't run track or do engineering, I would be a "What the fuck is a kilometer?" type American.
Measurements of Miscommunication
If you couldn't tell, I wrote the previous section with Non-Americans in mind. I specified the units of measurement I was using for distance because I understand people outside of the US could be reading my post.
But what happens if I don't do that? What happens when people assume everyone's units of measurement are the same as theirs? Allow me to recall a conversation I'm sure most of you Non-Americans have had with an American on the internet and vice versa.
Friend, Non-American: Ugh it's 40 degrees out today.
Me, American: Dang that sounds pretty cold, don't forget to wear a jacket.
Friend, Non-American: What the hell do you meant that's cold???
Me, American and remembering where they live: OH YOU MEAN CELSIUS. That's 104 in Freedom Units.
Friend, Non-American: 104 IS SUPER DEAD IN CELSIUS.
(40°F is 4.4°C btw.)
As you can see, these kind of assumptions relay drastically different information. 40 degrees without a unit is read as cold or hot depending on where a person is from. It also doesn't help that the conversion between these units is nonsense. The vast majority of people can't do °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9 off the top of their head.
I, for the life of me, cannot comprehend Celsius. Temperature is too abstract a concept for my brain to swap systems. I think there's a reason for this.
Unlike distance, you can't see the temperature with your body. You can feel it, sure, but sometimes you step into a walk-in freezer and come out feeling like everything is warmer than it is. Relativity like that won't affect how you see distance. A foot is a foot, a meter is a meter, and they will always look those distances. You can check them easily.
Temperature? You need a thermometer to check. Or you assume the generalized data on a weather app is accurate. And things like humidity can fudge with your perception it.
This is all to say that my brain assigned the number 40 as cold. It being a hot number is barely comprehensible because my foundation is it being cold.
(If you were wondering, yes this is why I write out dates like Month DD, YYYY. It's so no one has to look at 3/4/YYYY and guess if they're supposed to be reading it as March 4th or April 3rd because they can't tell what country I'm from.)
What does this have to do with Sukuna?
Well my dear reader, my question to you is: What units of measurement were used in the Heian Era?
Forget about distance and temperature. How was time measured in the Heian era?
Heian Era Timekeeping
Ancient Japan ran on something called a Lunisolar Calendar. This is a type of calendar based around moon phases and sun positioning hence, lunisolar.
Taken directly from Wikipedia:
"A lunisolar calendar is a calendar in many cultures, incorporating lunar calendars and solar calendars. The date of lunisolar calendars therefore indicates both the Moon phase and the time of the solar year, that is the position of the Sun in the Earth's sky. If the sidereal year (such as in a sidereal solar calendar) is used instead of the solar year, then the calendar will predict the constellation near which the full moon may occur. As with all calendars which divide the year into months there is an additional requirement that the year have a whole number of months. In some cases ordinary years consist of twelve months but every second or third year is an embolismic year, which adds a thirteenth intercalary, embolismic, or leap month.
Their months are based on the regular cycle of the Moon's phases. So lunisolar calendars are lunar calendars with – in contrast to them – additional intercalation rules being used to bring them into a rough agreement with the solar year and thus with the seasons."
Did you notice something funky? A leap month has to be accounted for with this calendar. And it gets worse. The duration between leap months vary because the earth's path around the sun varies.
Under this calendar system, instead of a fixed interval of time always passing for a year, everything is variable. This means conversion to a modern date, which uses fixed time intervals, is not a one to one thing. It's kind of like trying to convert February 29th to non-leap years. Some people born on this day celebrate on February 28th and others will use March 1st. Legally speaking in the US, March 1st is used for tallying. (And if you've seen the Pirates of Penzance, this is an actual plot point when trying to determine a character's contract clause.) So imagine that but for months, years, and hours all the time.
I exclude days from this issue because Heian Japan agreed that a day was as day. They don't shrink or grow. The 12 hours a day always pass! And yes I mean 12 hours a day.
Heian Hours
For the rest of this discussion I'm referencing this lovely source by Katherine M. Lawrence. Everything quoted is from here.
So... let's get into that 12 hour day thing.
"Days consisted of 12 hours based on the 12 zodiac animals, each Heian hour being equal to about two modern hours. In a moment I will get to why I deliberately used the word “about.”
Days were divided into six “hours” of daylight and six “hours” of darkness. Instead of midnight, the day started at daybreak. Only in the Meiji times, in 1867, did the day change at midnight.
What is fascinating is that there were always six “hours” of daylight and six “hours” of night irrespective of the time of year. In modern times, with mechanical and even atomic clocks, we accept that more daylight falls in summer than in winter. We might turn back or move our clocks forward twice a year. In Japan it was done 24 times a year—approximately every 14 to 16 days—so that the first light would always come during the first “hour” of the day, which was known as the Hour of the Rabbit, sometimes called the Hour of the Hare. Dusk would come at the Hour of the Bird, sometimes called the Hour of the Rooster.
If we were to measure the actual length of winter days using a modern timepiece, the Hour of the Rabbit would be shorter than two hours because the relatively shorter total daylight in winter would still be distributed into six parts.
The six nighttime hours in winter would absorb the extra darkness and be proportionately longer than the nominal two hours of our 24-hour clock.
All this kept the astrologers and priests busy, because every 14 to 16 days, the clocks had to be adjusted. “More on that in a minute,” which by the way, is an idiom the Japanese of the era would not have used, because our modern concept of sixty minutes to an hour and sixty seconds to a minute is highly tied to mechanical clocks."
In summary, Heian Hours quite literally grow and shorten depending on the season. That 1 Heian Hour=2 Modern Hours conversion only works when daylight hours are the exact same as nighttime hours.
But it gets even weirder than that. Rather than counting from 1 to 12 for daytime and nighttime like we might on our modern clocks, Heian Japan counted down from 9 to 4 twice. This results in a clock conversion that looks like this.
And remember, this is only accurate when daylight hours are equal to nighttime hours!
It should also be noted that these hours were announced by the ringing of temple bells throughout the day and the night. Everyone relied on these temples to keep the time at all times.
But wait, there's more! (Heian Months and Solar Stems)
This is where timekeeping really starts to fall apart in terms of my understanding of it so Ms. Katherine M. Lawrence is going to explain it.
"In the Heian period (and until 1867), each month began on the dark moon, also know as the new moon. The full moon would come on the 15th day and the month would end approximately on the 28th, sometimes the 29th, and even the 30th day of the month.
Japanese did not have the western concept of the seven-day week, though they certainly could count to seven. What they had instead was the concept of the solar stem, of which there were 24."
"The first solar stem of the Japanese year starts on the first day of the year: Start of Spring, which, unlike the Western calendar, is not in March. The Last Solar Stem (the 24th) ends on the last day of Major Cold. The beginning of the year in Japan, as measured by the Western calendar, would start somewhere between mid-January and mid-February, the variation resulting from aligning the solar stems with the lunar months."
In summary, Heian Months may be about the same length as Modern Months, but they are strictly based on the moon phases and the 24 Solar Stems are anchored around them.
This leaves us with a conversion calendar that looks like this. (Edited to number the Solar Stems.)
And remember, this is approximate. The Solar Stems do not always align with these exact Georgian calendar dates.
The lunar months, of course, do not use our calendar date names. I present a summary table based on several people's documentation (Source 1, Source 2, Source 3) since sadly the other blogger didn't include them:
(Jan-Feb) Mutsuki (睦月) Month of Harmony/Affection
(Feb-Mar) Kisaragi (如月) Month of Changing of Clothes
(Mar-Apr) Yayoi (弥生) Month of Plant Growth/New Life
(Apr-May) Uzuki (卯月) Month of Deutzia Flowers
(May-Jun) Satsuki (皐月) Month of Planting Rice
(Jun-Jul) Minazuki (水無月) Month of Water/No Gods
(Jul-Aug) Fumizuki (文月) Month of Literature
(Aug-Sep) Hazuki (葉月) Month of Leaves
(Sep-Oct) Nagatsuki (長月) The Long Month
(Oct-Nov) Kannazuki (神無月) Month of Gods
(Nov-Dec) Shimotsuki (霜月) Month of Frost
(Dec-Jan) Shiwasu (師走) Month of Running Priests
This table merges multiple sources because the translations of Kanji differ and it's good to see how/why these differences occur. There's also the issue of the bloggers presenting the months like 1-to-1 conversions.
I want to stress that these Lunar Months start and end anywhere from the middle to the late parts of Georgian Months. This is why Source 1 claims Mutsuki=Feb while Sources 2 & 3 claim Mutsuki=Jan. Source 1 chose Feb because the majority of Mutsuki occurs in Feb while Sources 2 & 3 chose Jan because Mutsuki technically starts in late Jan.
Now that I've laid all this out, I'm sure you have the following burning question:
How the hell do you convert modern time to Heian time???
I turn to Ms. Katherine M. Lawrence again for guidance.
"If this post gets some interest, I will continue and explain how the author calculates..."
There's no guidance.
However! There is an example of a conversion without the explanation.
"Thus, we know as Yamabuki and Tomoe ride up to the Shayō Tge, the Sunset Pass, at Sunset on May 11, 1172, in the middle of a freak snowstorm, the author can say with some assurance that it happened at the Hour of the Bird on the 13th day of the 7th solar stem, two days past the full moon of the Flower Month."
So I'm going to try to figure out how this occurred using the information I've been given.
Hour of the Bird: This one is easy! The bird hour is the official sunset hour.
7th Solar Stem: According to the chart that's between late April and early May.
13th Day: Since Solar Stems are about 14-16 days this means it's almost the 8th Solar Stem which starts around May 21st.
2 days past the full moon of the Flower Month: "Flower Month" is not on my chart. From what I know about kanji, I think this is a simplification of Uzuki (卯月) or the the Month of Deutzia Flowers. This aligns with the month of May.
This is where I give up. I legitimately do not know where to go from here. ...And that's my point.
What does this have to do with Sukuna?
Before I completely lose you, my dearest most patient reader, please consider the following:
You wake up in a place where time is counted backwards and the hours pass faster than you've ever known them to. The things you use to tell the time don't exist or are in a form you no longer can recognize.
You see a clock face that counts in the wrong direction to numbers you've never seen used for time. The sounds it makes are familiar and foreign all at once. When you try to use the times and dates everyone you ever knew understood instantly, you're met with complete confusion. No one except a few dedicated scholars know how to convert your concept of time to theirs.
This is how Sukuna experiences time in the modern era.
Sukuna Can't Tell the Time (Sukuna almost fumbled his date with Gojo.)
Remember all my rambling about my own experiences with trying to understand SI Units as a Freedom Units user and my complete and utter failure to convert Heian Time to Modern Time? This is to establish that on a fundamental level, it does not matter that Sukuna has access to his vessel's memories. These foreign units mean nothing without a conversion reference.
Yuta in Gojo's body showed us how the memory recollection process works. You see them like movie and must draw your understandings from them.
We also learn from Sukuna that he tends to ignore memories that aren't relevant to his sorcery. So something mundane like telling the time isn't his priority. (I often think about how Sukuna has been watching Yuji and everyone around him use a cell phone but he still calls it a photography device.)
(He's lying about the flowers though.)
So this leads us to Sukuna and Gojo setting the date for their battle...
When Sukuna heard Kenjaku say November 19th and Gojo say December 24th his brain was the equivalent of TV static. It's very likely that Sukuna had to rely on Kenjaku to ensure he showed up at the right day. (Kenjaku, of course, is an exception here because instead of drawing from memories, Kenny got to live through the transitional period of the Lunisolar Calendar to the Georgian Calendar and had 100+ years to adjust to it. And now that I think about it, the Culling Game using days to count time is probably Kenjaku being considerate of this generational difference.)
It's a really good thing that Gojo didn't specify the time because that would've made things worse. See the following examples using the handy dandy conversion chart as a reference...
Gojo: Let's do this at 10.
Sukuna: ???
Gojo: Let's do this at 9.
Sukuna: *Shows up approximately 2 hours late at 11 am.*
Gojo: Let's do this at 8.
Sukuna: *Shows up approximately 5 hours late at 1 pm.*
Gojo: Let's do this at 7.
Sukuna: *Shows up approximately 8 hours late at 3 pm*
Gojo: Let's do this at 6.
Sukuna: *Shows up on time?* (It’s December in the northern hemisphere so the sun comes up after 6. Sukuna might still show up a bit late.)
These examples also assume that Sukuna can still gauge Heian Hours accurately. That too is up in the air because the hourly bells that sounded the Heian Hours no longer exist. The temples and bells may remain, but their use for timekeeping has changed entirely.
Since it's likely he spent a large portion of his early life in a temple, there's a chance Sukuna has a strong internalized sense of Heian Hours. But how many people do you know that can accurately feel an hour pass on vibes alone?
There isn't any point in the manga where Sukuna indicates he knows what Georgian Month is, let alone a Modern Hour. I think that's why he's just waiting on top of the building for Gojo to show up. The day starts for him when the sun comes up, not midnight. He probably figured that as long as he was out there by dawn, eventually his date would show up.
There's something strangely adorable about that. Sukuna didn't go out massacring others for funsies or wreak havoc after Gojo was unsealed. He just waited a whole month and gambled on their connection starting the death date on time.
How Sukuna Might Tell the Time
When Sukuna uses time units, he only uses minutes or seconds.
Well...the narrator implies he's able to use seconds.
This makes sense despite the Heian Era not having minutes or seconds. They're foundational units rather than a unit he needs to convert to something mentally. Because they are so drastically smaller than other Heian units of time, it's easier for the brain to calibrate itself to them.
This means that if one wanted to communicate a duration of time to Sukuna, it would be better to use minutes or seconds.
For example, rather than saying "see you in an hour", "see you in 60 minutes" would be better. Otherwise Sukuna is going to default to 1 Heian Hour and show up approximately 2 hours late.
Another example, telling Sukuna you'll "be gone for a few hours" means to him that you'll be gone for most of the day. At this point it would be better to reference a duration of an activity he's familiar with than use minutes. Sukuna watched some of those movies with Yuji. "I'll be gone for 1-2 movies" will make a little more sense to him.
Funnily enough though, telling Sukuna that you work a 9-5 wouldn't cause a miscommunication for duration. That's 4 Heian Hours or about 8 Modern Hours. He probably thinks it's weird you start working in the middle of the day and into the night though.
How Sukuna tells time for himself is likely similar to someone lost in the wilderness. He'll mostly be relying on environmental cues like moon phase, sun position, constellations, and flora growth. (Which ironically, climate change affecting flora growth patterns would throw him off even more. I can't even imagine how he'd feel about light pollution stealing away the stars on top of that. But at least the moon is still there!)
But as you can see, the normal methods of precise timekeeping are next to impossible for Sukuna to use and this discrepancy is ripe for miscommunication. This has a lot of comedy and horror potential in fanworks. (Hence me writing this as a resource.)
How Sukuna Used to Tell the Time
After doing all this research, I found myself viewing Sukuna's theme Malevolent Shrine a little differently. I always found it to be a quite sad sounding song for his character. Villains as violent and fierce as Sukuna tend to get battle themes that reflect that. In comparison to high energy bangers like One-Winged Angel (Sephiroth Final Fantasy), Avalon (Ultimate Lifeform Kars Jojo), or The Last Mission (Murem vs Netero Hunter x Hunter), Malevolent Shrine is rather somber and unfocused.
This theme opens and closes with bells. The opening in particular feels chaotic with how the different bells seem to overlap and overwhelm each other. But if you listen closely, you'll hear the gong of a temple bell that keeps rhythm by marking the start of a new measure. Using this bell, it becomes easier to count the beats, even when it eventually disappears in the middle section.
His theme to me now feels like an echo of what Sukuna used to know before he was thrust into a world that is no longer in sync with his very concept of time.
"Interestingly, the Japanese “witching hour” is not at midnight, but at nominally 2 AM (1 AM–3 AM) and is known as the Hour of the Ox."
I don't really know where else to put this. Sukuna on his throne of ox skulls, a representation of the witching hour where reality falls apart and spirits come out to play.
How all this might look in action. (Defending my questionable writing choices.)
Though everything I've given is plenty enough for people to run wild with in fanworks, I would like to give examples of it in my own. My type of autism is one where it's easier for me have something to use as a direct reference. (Clear and concise instructions please.) So I want to provide that for anyone else wired similarly.
Context: The fic I'm writing is from Sukuna's POV so I've taken great care to avoid him using modern timekeeping terms. I have a timeline for everything outlined, but I refuse to make that clear to the reader so they can get the Sukuna Experience™.
Other characters will reference the time and give the reader little windows into what date it possibly is, but otherwise they have to infer it themselves.
But because I myself use modern time, I caught mistakes I made in an early chapter... (Aka before I realized Heian Timekeeping is Extremely Different.)
Old Sentence: The year is 2019.
Revised Sentence: The year is 2019 for the Common Era.
(Heian Japan was mimicking China so I'm assuming that the numbered years restarted with each era since I couldn't find how years were kept.)
Old Sentence: It’s reminding him he has not eaten for the past 5 hours and 38 minutes.
Revised Sentence: It’s reminding him he has not eaten since the hour of the dragon—338 minutes and counting.
(This one is self evident I think.)
But even within this chapter, I obscured the date by having Sukuna observe his surroundings. I don't think it's a good example so I'll use a different one from an unpublished draft.
...it occurs under the same wisteria and same midday sun. The branches and buds have begun to green and swell before the Flowering Moon has reached its full, an indication that the bloom will come early.
Wisterias bloom in late April around the time of full moon. April aligns with Yayoi or the Month of Plant Growth/New Life. I worked under the assumption that the moons can be called by their month names kind of like Native American moon names. But Plant Growth/New Life Moon didn't sound good to me so I changed it to Flowering.
So I do have a very specific date for when this scene occurs, but Sukuna doesn't know so the reader doesn't know. The best you can guess is sometime in April but you have to know when Wisterias typically bloom and what a Flowering Moon might be. (I'm hoping this kind of vague timekeeping disorients the reader and causes frustration. I used sun, moon, and star positioning charts for this got dang it.)
Tools to Use for Weird Timekeeping
Chinese Calendar Conversions
Solar Stem Converter
(This one is annoying to use because they don't use the translated names but there is a definitions table.)
Lunar Calendar Converter
(Unfortunately it only allows for 1901-2100. You can probably infer the lunar month via the Solar Stem Converter for older dates.)
Celestial Bodies
For star/constellation positions in the night sky use this:
Sky & Telescope Interactive Sky Chart
(Yes you can even change the location and time to get the exact night sky the characters might be looking at.)
For sun positions and sunrise/sunset times use this:
SunCalc
For moon positions and moonrise/moonset times use this:
MoonCalc
(If you want to see a summary of moon phases by month this tool is helpful.)
Why have you done this?
I don't know. Please enjoy my perverse obsession with the little details.
#cactus yaps#Erikaposting with this one. Need to get my brain examined.#I almost included a rant about changing floral language confusing Sukuna even more but I stopped myself.#This is Sukugo in the vaguest way possible so I won't tag it I think.#The things I do for this fic... I understand people saying with 18 you aren't a real adult yet but... you are. I have the feeling mostly americans see 18 yo as 'children' still because a lot of stuff you can only do wth 21 there. In Europe you will be a full fledged adult and you will be treated like on. With 18 you can drink, you can drive, you will most likely be far enough in school to starts a career, depending on what you wanna do.
18 is grown up and the brain is developed enough to not make certain mistakes anymore. Not to forget that at first it was claimed she was 'freshly 18' when she was already 18 1/2.
People have to stop infantalizing grown up people. That's why Tommy turned out the way he is, cause people kept seeing and treating him as a child. Now that dude makes rape and necrophilia jokes because people keep saying 'he's basically still a child!'
No. Stop doing that. Let people take responsibilities as the adults that they are. With 18 you should know what is Sa and what not. You should know how you can ruin someone's whole life with making allegations like this.
If Caiti actually didn't know what she was doing, then she shouldn't be a Content Creator and stay off from the public image. She admitted she was there not to befriend people but to meet big creators and do networking. That's adult thinking.
Stop trying to push the morlas of 'she's not completely grown' on people who fucked up with something that someone with their age shouldn't fuck up with.
And I am saying that as a 18 year old myself btw. She KNEW what she was doing, she knewingly used terms that SA and rape victims use in her first stream, she knew she was getting drunk as well.
Sure the brain isn't completely developed yet, but enough to not do something like that
Ok here's some more anon thoughts on all of the age/alcohol talk
Honestly I understand everyone's points tbh. Like it's all a double-edged sword that applies to each 18 year old differently because I've seen some super independent, mature 18 year olds that have been living on their own for years, but also some veeery immature and sheltered ones that can barely function in the world. It all heavily depends on the situation imo
And as soon as alcohol is introduced, it immediately becomes 10x messier so yeah this situation is just very nuanced and I think everyone will feel a little bit differently about it based on their personal experiences at that age and I get that 100%.
Like I personally was a very mature and independent 18 year old but I know people who weren't and still act like children even into their 20s. It really varies person-to-person
#all of you guys are valid for your experiences and perspective based on those experiences#i want to be able to shed light on a variety of perspectives even if people dont agree with each other#just keep it respectful and we will be good#ask#anon#anti drummyache tag

LOL Per gets "cancelled" so often and its like,,,, 1. twit needs to touch grass, and 2. maybe dont put all ur obsession in a single real life person who is only human and WILL do things you don't like if they expect everyone they like in the public eye to be morally correct 100% of the time (based on their own morals btw) then they WILL be disappointed 100% of the time lol
Yeah, I mean, no one is perfect. My little sister votes differently than I do, has a (sealed) criminal record and yet I love her with all my heart. We just have different experiences and opinions and can’t talk politics. I feel she has a lot to learn about life, and maybe in some ways so does Per. Regardless…I don’t know him at all. He repeated the important point that NONE OF US really know him, and I’ll extend that to the entire band, much as we’d all like to think we do. I like his conduct during his lives. He’s friendly, funny, and answers a LOT of questions I’m often ashamed the fans ask of him. If he takes a rather aerated approach to his detractors, I’m not sure I blame him—being a public person means you will inevitably run into people who will hate anything and everything you do, think, or say and are ready to pounce on you for your slightest mistake.
I’m not excusing him—I don’t know him. There is plenty about him that is none of my business. It would suck if he supported certain people or ideologies, but I have yet to see any hard evidence of that.

I saw ur post/ask about epic-legend privilege and common-rare hate and let me tell you the pain is REAL. ESPECIALLY with the ancients specifically getting away with so much bullshit over the years. Some of the kingdom fandom is super dope and some of it is more toxic than Chernobyl
my specific gripe with *that* part of the community around kingdom is just… how much of the nuance of the stories are erased and ignored when you give someone who failed English class an iPad. I don’t like being one of those “I’m smarter than you and ur headcanons are stupid” ppl (from first hand experience they are horrible to deal with good god I’m never logging in to fandom.com again), but the lack of media literacy has produced some dog water takes about the stories of the legends + ancients especially. And I’m emphasizing legends too, cuz OvenBreak community is much less guilty of this in my experience but we gave Sea Fairy’s flaws a pass for YEARS and I’ve only ever seen it called into question when I got back into cookie run late 2023. And the post was from April this year we were tripping for a long time 💀
but yeah anyways! The god cookies have pulled some dodgy shit since launch and I’ve rarely seen it explored within fan works or as part of a character analysis.
Take what you were saying about Pure Vanilla and his involvement of Gingerbrave in the BeastYeast plot line for example. How fucked up is that? Pure vanilla is 1. A grown ass man, 2. Fully recovered from the injuries from whatever story mode shit he was in at this point, and 3. A LITERAL GOD? And guess who he brings to solve his problems. 3 RANDOM ASS KIDS
dude wizard and strawberry didn’t 100% have to go (but let’s be real they’ve been so conditioned to do this quest crap that they’d probably choose to go anyway) but brave? They’re a HEAVILY disordered kid who has endured such fundamental developmental trauma (Almost no one talks about the oven and witch when relating to brave btw and it’s insane but that’s for another day) that it’s morphed into him basing their whole identity on 1. Being brave, and 2. Helping people. Even if pure vanilla didn’t sense anything off with the kid’s debilitating dependency on being brave and Not Being Alone and eagerness to fight and kill and die for people she’s known for barely a minute, you’d think the *adult* man could at LEAST say “hm. This is a dangerous god mission. I shouldn’t bring these kids with me.” There is much more I can say but I think u get the general jist.
PV is not a saint. Him, along with every other ancient, is a cookie with both immense power and important flaws who makes mistakes. While everyone has flaws and everyone makes mistakes, these guys have had more time to grow and power over their lives than almost all other characters in this setting ever will, and the sheer weight of some of these, dare I say, juvenile mistakes have had devastating consequences on families, friends, kingdoms, and even the cookie species as a whole. With great power comes great responsibility, but the ancients have been living life as if no one paid the electric bill, when in reality, they’re running the city’s generators.
YES THANK YOU
Especially the part with Sea Fairy because her obsession with Moonlight literally keeps putting the world at risk
Also if an epic cookie has too simple of a design or a basic story they’re forgotten immediately. Like Lime, Sandwich, Macaron, or Salt.

I know it’s unpopular and ig would be seen as chronically online but. a little annoyed at the “UGH 🙄 and here come THOSE people” @ comments those being horrified abt Frostpaw being spayed and connecting it to real life events like bipoc being sterilized against their will. I personally am not one of those people, nor do I think it’s anywhere near that serious or on that level bc I thought it was an interesting turn in the books, but as a black afab myself who would most definitely face forced sterilization if I were not a more privileged individual, (because you know the health system itself loves to play around with our bodies like science experiments as though we cannot physically feel pain) I’m gonna need the yt warrior cats fans to cut it out w the snide superiority complex on “lesser takes” and understand there’s people who are gonna reasonably draw comparisons to these events and see how incredibly horrifying it is what the anthropomorphic cat just went through. not to hit a fucking beehive but why is it acceptable to understand the harmful impacts of misogyny in the series affect people in the real world but misoginoir is taking a step too far?
discourse on bumble being a domestic abuse victim has people understanding and drawing comparisons between that and real life events but we draw the line when woc are brought up. okay. why?
this isn’t at you btw because you generally have nuanced takes and take the time to consider what people are actually saying but like. what’s going on here I’m genuinely blindsided by people rolling their eyes. it is an issue. it’s a huge issue and it’s still happening in places! can’t speak for other countries but it’s still legal on a federal level in the U.S where I live and in my state. my problem isn’t the people drawing comparisons with Frostpaw. my problem is the reaction to that. I don’t understand why one systematic issue can be discussed and the other not without scrutiny and handled as though it’s not as serious topic.
also to note: I am aware that Frostpaw being spayed was not based on any perceived race or ethnicity. I am aware that this was simply for shock value (as of the moment, anyway ((which is what makes it worse imo but that’s another convo))) and I am aware that I cannot speak on behalf of anyone facing this issue but myself and cannot reasonably say that anyone drawing these conclusions will always 100% take the matter as seriously as needed. however I can say that it is a bit difficult for me to accept that in a world where each character has human intelligence, thoughts wishes and feelings, that the concept of forced sterilization, abhorrent and frightening outside of normal cat understanding, frankly should be handled with the utmost care able to be expended. I know it will not be. I am aware. the authors have a history of using their personal bias to push racist narratives before. I understand that people are saying handle the subject with tact and maturity. I just do not believe it is the right or position of a mostly white fanbase to police the discussion of what happens to women of color because we are often spoken over as is. I hope that I have made my point clear? I’m not the best at explaining myself over subjects I’m passionate about, so I may have tripped over my words a bit. I do apologize if it came off as talking in circles
I'll admit, when I first read the spoilers and learned what happened, I drew some connections but I also agree that it's not nearly on that level. But I think it would be wildly inappropriate if I tried to talk on that as a white person.
I don't have much to add, but I think you've raised some pretty understandable concerns and you're very clear in your points, I didn't have any trouble following you! I genuinely have a lot of concerns about the plotline and I think you're right that it's important to be open about these discussions.
#ask to tag#i do apologize i don't have anything really substantial to add#but i don't know enough or am in a position to really be spearheading these conversations#i have my own concerns about the misogyny that i expect to follow#but i think it's very fair for people to see a plot like this and draw connections to other experiences

uhhhhhhhhhh that vice quadrant thingy you mentioned earlier? idk
YAY OK THIS ONWS GONNA BE . LONG
okay i have 2 explain some stuff first . blue matter is something peter walter 1 discovered , it's very important to the spg universe(s) . it's the thing that powers the robots. it has the capability to open rifts in space and time and it has before .
The thing that starts up the whole story is 2 characters from the becile family (which i havent explained yet) basically kidnapping rabbit to experiment on her blue matter core . 2 other characters (guy hottie(thats his actual name) and peter walter 2) break in to try and stop them, but a blue matter explosion fragments space and time , creating 2 universes . universe prime and universe omega . the explosion also sends a beam of blue matter into space .
universe prime
in universe prime , the blue matter beam hits peter walter the 3rd(refered to as IV from now on)'s space ship . he gets hit directly in the chest , the beam turns him into commander cosmo , granting him superhuman abilities (seen in the song Commander Cosmo) . he saves earth multiple times because hes been basically forced into this superhero role . he gets depressed and decides to trap himself in a star until it kills him . he goes into a rift in space (the achilles rift) and is brought to universe omega . his storyline continues in the universe omega section later dont worry about him for right now
a young peter walter 6 (refered to as VI from now on) starts working on the W.I.N.K project , a satellite built to find habitable planets (seen in Steamjunk) .
22 years later , the robots (the spine , rabbit , hatchworth) find W.I.N.K crashed near walter manor . he tells the robots about the green apple planet he found but lost because the space giant took it . they get VI to turn him into a spaceship and they go back into space to find the planet .
they go into space and find the space giant with the planet . the giant turns out to be a spg fan , they play some songs and he challenges them to a guitar duel , during the duel he just kinda shrinks down . into nothing . they get the planet back , W.I.N.K brings them home but decides to go back and live on the planet .
universe omega
before everything about commander cosmo , in this universe the blue matter beam doesn't hit IV's space ship . it barely misses , the crew starts studying the blue matter , and it leads to a domino effect on earth and humans make insane progress in technology , as seen in the song Progress And Technology (see what i did there. hehe) . the blue matter beam instead hits a russian space probe with human dna on it , creating cosmica/the daughter of space . cosmica finds IV's ship , and accidentally destroys it in her curiousity . she rescues IV from it , he's known as just the astronaut from here . they also fall in love btw theres like 5 love songs in the album abt them
back to commander cosmo . he seals himself in a dying star called the necrostar , accidentally bringing it back to life . just under 100 year timeskip , ravaxis starburner (character that hasnt shown up before hes new . hi rav) blows up the necrostar to free commander cosmo .
the astronaut and cosmica have been destroying moon bases and spaceships together . with help from a space militia , commander cosmo kills the astronaut and gets cosmica to realize Hey you cant let your boything kill people . it ends there but it DOESNT later on a fragment of the necrostar finds the astronaut's corpse and merges with it , creating the necronaut . the album then ends there for real this time . :3

Harry Styles Body Language
Hellooo okay here we go. This is just my educated opinion. I have minor experience in body language analysis through my studies (I'm in graduate school currently for psychology) and through work (I used to work in a behavioral school and a psychiatric hospital). None of this is meant to be a diagnosis or taken to be 100% real. Like I said, it's just an opinion.
I've done seldom analyses before. The original ask was asked A WHILE ago and they requested Olivia be included. That was before the stunt ended so I really don't want to bring her back up now lol I'll put some links down below of other analyses I've done if you're interested though x
Holivia body language
Harry's general facial expressions with/without Olivia
Another facial expression comparison
Yacht pics analysis
Olivia body language
I also did a regular Harry one a while ago but I can't for the life of me find it.
This is a general Harry analysis. I will do one about him with men soon, and Kendall since that was requested.
I suspect Harry is quite shy and probably somewhat anxious. He definitely doesn't come off like this all the time. I call it the "anxiety clause". There are certain situations in which shy people come out of their shell. I also think Harry is well trained to appear more extraverted than he actually is. He's pretty hard to read tbh but I'll tell you a little of why I think the way I do.
Harry does this thing every now and then where he covers his face with one or both of his hands when he's laughing, or in some kind of shocking/attention grabbing scenario. Could be read as someone who's hiding behind a shield. And tying into that, it could be read as someone who just needs a moment to process. It's a brief act of the body saying "whoah I need a moment to take this all in and digest what's happening". You have the wrists turned inward towards the face (a subconscious thing people do when they feel vulnerable or feel like they need to protect themselves) and you have the eyes being covered shielding off that sense. Everyone has some kind of motion they subconsciously do while protecting themselves. Some have more obvious ones than others, like this. Traditionally speaking, it exhibits traits of a protector vs a "hunter", for lack of a better word.
It's also a trait of embarrassment.
He also does this thing with his hands where he balls them up. I think some people call it "sweater paws" depending on what he's wearing. This is usually associated with nervousness or anxiety. It's a comfort tick people do to calm down, again mostly subconsciously.
And yes I KNOW he could just be cold but I'm making my analysis based on a plethora of factors 😭
Also speaking of hands, he plays around a lot with his. Like his hands are always fidgeting. I noticed this A LOT at the MSG show I went to when I was in Pit. It was painfully obvious. Like fidgeting with the mic, the mic wire, his ear piece, etc. I think that's partially why he likes playing the guitar while performing. Keeping your hands preoccupied helps with nervousness.
Tip: if you ever get anxious, roll a hair pin back and forth between your fingers.
He also touches his hair and lips a lot, which are typically lumped with anxiety. One doesn't equal the other btw. Just saying what they're usually related to.
And then I usually pay attention to posture and other subtle nonverbal cues. I could go on and on about it but sometimes Harry stands somewhat unsure of himself, or he subconsciously makes himself smaller. It's not always equal to anxiety or nervousness. It could also just be him being introverted, shy, or even sad. Sometimes posture is dependent on mood, rather than personality. And sometimes there are cultural differences. We all have nonverbal cues - that's universal. But keep in mine I'm from the US while Harry is from England. There might be some cultural differences.
These ^ are things I usually look for. And there are way more examples but this is just a basic visual. Harry generally falls under the closed posture.
These are some general examples of closed posture. You can probably find more also. I usually look for hand/arm placement.
Hands behind the back, or crossed arms/folded hands is typically a way of cutting off communication or putting a barrier between yourself and another person.
Now sometimes yes, hands behind back can mean confidence or superiority, but I look at other things to accompany it too. I look at posture, facial expressions, and if the muscles are relaxed or not. So based on my opinion, I think it's solely just Harry shielding himself. It could be read a couple different ways but again, this is my opinion.
And the "groin blocking" is usually something people do when they're nervous or insecure. It could also be a submissive thing, or an indicator of shyness.
Also yes these aren't the best examples and it's not how Harry is 1000% of the time, but it's something I've noticed.
These are examples of open posture in regards to sitting:
And to differentiate between a casual stance and a shy/closed stance, I usually look at a couple different variables. It's not just about the hands. It's about the posture. It's about the content being discussed. It's about the environment. There's a lot more going into it than just saying "oh look at where his hands are". You can't make a fair assumption on just one thing. Not that any of my assumptions are 100% fair - obviously they're not because I don't know Harry personally - but I try to analyze the best I can when needed.
There's also one other picture I cannot find for the life of me. It's Harry sitting down in 2020, and he's wearing a sweater vest. He just looks so shy in that picture. It's one of my main arguments and I literally can't find the pic. If someone knows what I'm talking about, please send it to me.
Anyways, these are just my thoughts. I could talk more about it too but those are my main, initial thoughts :)

If I understood it right you have sdv oc's? I'd love to know a few fun facts abt them🤗
Hiiiiii :) I apologize now for the length this post will take upon your screen.
I really only have Mys and the few people in her backstory 😭 (I can come up with some fun stuff for them now though :D)
Mys is mostly a self insert because I’ve gotten really into making her one but here’s a few fun facts about her!!
1. Before she moved into the valley she was actually way less colorful and looked a bit more classy and put together. Her boyfriend was a bit of a minimalist and snob and wasn’t a huge fan of bright colors. So she wore pale clothes, lots of skirts and dresses, her hair was usually long and tied up neatly, etc. I’d argue she also dyed her hair a few times to make it look more like a natural color (it’s naturally that pink/red shade). Three days before moving she bought a pair of overalls and had a wild time just adding a bunch of details to them, even if it wasn’t super well put together ☺️ (the space halo heart is my own logo btw lol)
2. Mys came into the farm life clueless, friendless, and lonely 100%. It’s why she’s so eager to befriend the townies and comes off a little strong. It’s also why she can’t say no and so quick to overexert herself if someone asks her for help 😭 if she knew that most people in town had no faith in her based off the way she looked and acted when she first arrived, she would likely cry. She’s probably a little too nice sometimes too 🥺 if you’re mean to her she’ll take it and cry alone later on.
3. She talks A LOT. When she gets to know you well enough she’ll just start talking about something she’s really into and go on for hours always finding something new to point out (poor Shane lol). I once said if she was a real character in the game one of her heart events would be her holding the farmer hostage as she explained the entire lore of her show after she invited them in to watch it with her. (I have done this myself so many times.) 😭 She’s also a bit of thoughtless speaker sometimes. Saying things a little too quickly before her brain processes it.
4. On her slow farm days she’ll stay inside and catch up on tv. She really likes trash tv drama and novellas. Adding to that, she’s a huge romantic. She swoons and sighs and hopes that someone would love her so strongly. Especially after what she went though with her ex 🥹 Other hobbies include: gaming, journaling (she picked this one up after she moved), taking as many photos as possible of everything, reading (comics, romance novels, and mysteries) daydreaming, and collecting things (stuffed animals mostly)
5. She loves a good lemonade and pizza! She doesn’t really drink (at least not until she met Shane 😭) and will go into the saloon to chat with Emily over lemonade. To win Shane’s friendship she started buying a pizza to share with him, and she’d sit patiently at a booth until he came in (on easy days.) she also goes around and says hi to everyone at least once. If she’s just having me-time, you can find her in a booth writing + doodling in her journal with a bunch of candy around her.
6. I just think this little fun fact is really cute but when she found out Shane loved peppers she planted some in her greenhouse so she’ll always have some to give or use for food. 🥺 (I have that in game 🤭 and she only gives him high quality ones)
7. She’s magic babey! ✨ the day before she moved her mom gave her a red brooch. After her grandpa passed away, he sent it to her mom with instructions to only give it to Mys when she decided to move to the valley. She only found out about it when the wizard pulled it towards him and suggested that someone in her family must have arcane experience.
😭😭 sorry that was so long. I’ll write like two facts about the others
The ex: dark brown hair, brown eyes, suits (lol idk)
1. Has no name yet 😩 Can he even count as a character?? Literally the worst boyfriend ever. He and Mys dated in high school up until he ghosted her a month before she moved. He been sleeping with her best friend, Celia, and then proceeded to elope with her. This man kept Mys around with jewelry, promises, and guilt.
2. He was an executive for Joja. Mys worked for the company because of him, and ultimately had to leave for that same reason. She found out about the elopement at the office, and had a long cry in the bathroom stalls. (Btw he totally gets his butt kicked by Shane at some point)
Celia: Blonde, thin, very pretty and model-like, wears a lot of tight clothes and has that one fake best friend voice
1. The “best friend,” the betrayer. She clung onto Mys because Mys was really easy to manipulate. 🥺 Wasn’t very nice to her at all but made her believe she loved her like a sister. When Mys met Haley it was like meeting a younger Celia. 🥹 I guess mys still missed her because she tried to be Haley’s friend despite how mean she was. Luckily, Haley actually becomes pretty nice and apologizes for her rude behavior.
2. She would absolutely be a modern day influencer. Perhaps she is (if phones exist in this interpretation 🤔 I like to think they do but pelican town can’t host then or something 😭)
Todd: 7ft tall, thin but definitely works out, looks like he has money and works with money, very serious and classy 😭
1. Mys’s Boyfriend year 3? She and Shane are already pretty established as smitten by the town but they’re both stuck at the fork in the road of to be or not to be. (At some point Mys finally makes her move only for him to reject her out of fear 😭). Anyways!! She was asked by mayor Lewis to take an important business trip into the city to meet with an investor who wanted to open the land for expansion and more agricultural work. He figured Mys, as the local farmer, would have better input. Shane was supposed to accompany her into the city but they got into a bit so she left alone (Shane realized he was being stupid and ran to catch the bus but jsut barely missed it, his missed opportunity at love 😭). The investor turned out to be a guy named Toddrick Theodore Tapps. He was quickly taken with her because she was just so lively of a person. He could not believe she was the local farmer. He decided to head back into the valley with her to visit the land and ended up staying in one of Mys’s spare rooms at the farmhouse. He didn’t help her on the farm at all, mostly just walked around took notes, and inspected the quality of everything.
2. He’s very jealous. He and Shane are constantly at each other’s throats. Mys told him all about her best friend Shane :) and he knew immediately that Mys was in love with him. 😭 he did NOT expect Shane to be so dingy tho which is funny. He mentioned that to his face too. (It doesn’t help that Todd TOWERS over the both of them and looks like he comes from old money.) He polices mys’s friendships a bit commenting how some of the townies are rather immature, some seem like terrible people, and in particular, that Shane is a bad influence on those around him. When she gets upset at his obvious disrespect he apologizes for saying things that hurt her feelings 😭 the man literally only puts up with Shane for her. I do think he is romantic though, and definitely what Mys imagined being romanced would be like. He’s pretty rich so he spoils her, and buys the town’s approval with generous donations.
3. He’s a bit of himself. He’s not a bad guy, but he does think he’s a quality man and he loves what he does. So when he asks Mys to move to the city with him where he’ll spoil her for the rest of her life he’s surprised that she actually wants to be a farmer dealing with dirt, grime, monsters, and all the things in between. This man genuinely tries to convince her to give up the farm, and even tries to make a compromise that the farm will still be up and running but they’ll hire people to tend to it. (He probably also suggested changing the name to something more serious). He and Mys get into a fight over it, and he tells her what time his bus to the city will be leaving. She wishes him well, and a happy life with a wife who shares his values, and doesn’t show up that day.
4. I like to imagine years down the line Mys and Shane are in the city doing some work and play when they run into him. Both parties find out that the other is engaged/married. And they make up. He still can’t believe Mys chose Shane tho 😭 “I thought you would choose him, but I’m still surprised. You seemed so smitten with him, but he didn’t look like he was ever going to make anything of that.”

Pay increases are dependent on people's current incomes so if companies tend to give men a 5% increase and women a 4% increase (I'm making these numbers up btw) then there's going to be a wage gap between men and women. If trans men transition later in life and starts getting 5% increases, there's still going to be a wage gap between cis and trans men EVEN THO they're now getting the same percent increase
If you need concrete numbers:
let's say a man, a woman, and a pre-transition trans man all start at a company and make $100/hr
Next year they all get raises. M is now getting $105, TM and W are getting $104
6 months later, TM socially and medically transitions and perfectly passes and is treated the same as all the other men in the office
6 months later it's salary raise time again at the company and to make my math easier, the % increase is based on original pay (altho in the real world the % compounds so it's actually worse than I'm making it out to be). The men again get 5% and the women get 4%, so the new pay for our employees at the thought experiment company are making: M $110, TM $109, W $108
So even in a utopia wrt trans people& transitioning where cis and trans people are treated the same and transition is instantaneous, if there's financial sexism then there's going to be an income gap between cis&trans men
Also there's been studies that show openly queer women and women who don't wear makeup are less likely to get hired& promoted than feminine straight women, which puts an even larger starting payment gap between cis men and trans men who used to be seen as queer/masculine women
wait wdym trans men make less than cis and trans women (when there are no other factors affecting wage)
is there a source for that? I could believe it but if I mention it to my friends they're gonna ask a source so I am curious
i think studies vary because of underreporting and a lot of people just lump all trans people together, but there was one study i saw a few months ago that broke it down and showed that for trans people like me who come out later in life, trans men tend to make less because of the initial barriers of misogyny we faced in school and then in the workforce, though obviously after trans women come out there is a significant drop. i’ll try to see if i can find it.

how do you feel about the sentimonster!adrien au basically being confirmed? i see a lot of people hating on it and would love to know your thoughts! (love your art btw :D)
I've said it before, but I actually really love the sentimonster adrien storyline. I think there are a lot of really cool/interesting possibilities with it and I'm excited to see where it's headed.
(the rest under read more because I ended up rambling)
I get why it upsets people, but I personally think that if you're viewing the sentimonster theory as stripping away adrien's humanity, invalidating his emotions, invalidating his abuse, or anything like that that you're not really viewing it right.
I don't think him being a sentimonster makes him any less human. He is a human, basically, just a human that was created with the peacock miraculous. The point doesn't seem to be that Adrien is less human or that the Adrien we've come to know is a lie, but just that Adrien is even more a victim than we thought. Like I've said before, I think Adrien's sentimonster storyline is meant to be a metaphor for abuse.
Sentimonsters have thoughts, feelings, and free will. They can be anything that they were created to be, and in Adrien's case, he was created to be human..... so he is, essentially, human. There's no reason to think he doesn't grow, that he can't get sick (in fact, we know he can. He was injured in Riposte, he has an allergy, and if you take instagrams as canon then he can catch a cold), or that there's really anything about his experiences that differentiates him from other humans. Everything about Adrien's actions throughout the series are actions that are very human, and there's never been a reason to doubt his humanity— just his origins.
The only thing that's confirmed to differentiate Adrien from his peers is that he can be controlled. Not that he IS controlled, just that he CAN be. The Adrien we see in 99% of the scenes he's in is not an Adrien that's being magically controlled by any outside force. He's himself. He's his own person. Nothing about him being a sentimonster changes this. And the 1% of times that we do see him being controlled (e.g. Ephemeral), we see that he is nothing more than a victim of said control.
Basically, I imagine that the sentimonster thing is a part of the series in for the following reasons (this is absolutely 100% pure speculation, but they're the assumptions I'm operating under):
• More magical drama and intrigue, plain and simple. A fun plot twist. It's a fairy-tale like story, and this is a very fairy-tale like thing to do. Par for the course.
• To show to the audience in no uncertain terms that Gabriel, quite literally, is a controlling and abusive parent who values order above freedom. ... But in a magical way. Because this show is literally about magic, so why not? If you're looking for a realistic story that tackles heavy topics without magical twists to them, this isn't really the show for that.
• To give the audience a physical representation of Adrien's abuse. That ring Gabriel wears is now, essentially, the symbol of Gabriel's tyranny over Adrien. Now, Adrien has something that he can literally wrestle out of Gabriel's hands in a climactic final battle to symbolize regaining control of his life. Physical symbols are very powerful in story-telling for scenes like that.
• To add to Adrien's angst. To give him something more to break him down. To make him question his humanity, to have his loved ones comfort him and remind him how important he is, and that he's loved, and that he's human. To make Adrien doubt himself so that when he finally comes to terms with it and himself, it feels powerful. Basically, Adrien going through one of those "who's the real monster?" realizations, only to realize that there was never anything wrong with him, just his father
• Sentimonsters' personalities are based off of the emotions of the person who created them, not the intention of the person creating them. Think of Fu, and how he was really angry and hungry and tried to make himself a kind pet... but the pet was just as angry and hungry as he was. What emotion would Adrien have been created with? .... Love. Because he was created to be a son. You know who else was created with love? Bugette. A different human-based sentimonster that seemed to just be... a normal person when control was stripped away. My guess is that the show is kind of wanting to push a "the core of humanity is love!!!" message. Adrien is made of love, it's what's at the core of his being, and there's nothing more human than that.
• and probably a lot more possibilities that only the writers really know until we see how it all plays out lol
But yeah. I do think a lot of people are over-complicating it a bit to make him being a sentimonster seem scarier than it actually is, or more invalidating to him as a character than it actually is imo. It's just another magical piece of this magical tale, and I would be genuinely shocked if the show took this twist in any direction other than doubling down Adrien's right to exist and be human.

The men of Genshin as romance types:
This just kind popped up in my head after thinking about Xiao's characterization! I might add to this in the future, but for now it's just a small list of headcanons + a short blurb :>
Contains: Lots of fluff, lightly suggestive
Features: Albedo, Venti, Kaeya, Xiao, Zhongli, Childe, and Diluc
Note: you can be soft and still top btw, this is only for how they'd be romantically
Sweet:
Albedo
Albedo is also shown canonically to do little gestures like give people the sketch he did of them to see them smile, this man might seem kinda standoffish at first, but he's not cold
From his voicelines and story, we also know that Albedo is the type of person to think pretty deeply about everything around him
His brain goes 100 miles an hour with all the possibilities and scenarios he can think of
So with his s/o, the best thing that could happen is that he'll take the time to really slow down and unwind
Being a busy, busy man in pursuit of knowledge beyond anyone's comprehension, Albedo rarely gets time off (his sketches are considered research, in a way, no?)
So once he's finally at home, there will be lots of little shows of affection
Passing behind you, perhaps a light touch on your back or shoulder to let you know he's there
On a particularly rough day, he'll sit facing you with his forehead resting on your chest and just--take your hands and put them in his hair
Not really the type to pamper, but there's no doubt of his love
Probably the type of guy to like sitting close in silence
Maybe on the nights you cook, he'll come and wrap his arms around your waist, head leaning on your shoulder as he watches you work
Quietly, you lay on the couch tangled up in his arms, the soft sound of breathing and the light warmth you feel lulling you to sleep. It seems that, even though Albedo is left half asleep from a long day of research, he still continues to trace mindless little patterns on the back of your hand with his thumb. You shift, and he hums, pulling you closer.
Venti
The man’s been through so much, honestly
He's lost his closest friend, helped a rebellion usurp a tyrant, been through a war that lasted centuries, watched as another friend he'd known since birth fall to corruption (but ultimately was saved)
Point being, he's tired and just wants to have his fun
True to his nature, he likes to tease and poke at his s/o, but nothing that can't be undone (after all, a prank isn't funny if it's permanent)
Hand holding, is a must! Venti is a very affectionate person who isn't afraid to express his feelings when it comes to his s/o
Lots of smooches too! (Please smooch him back)
Speaking of hands and smooches, he's the type to bring your hand to his lips and give each your fingertips a little kiss. They've done so much for you and allow him the joy of holding them, so it's the least he can do!
His type of love is free and sweeter than the scent of cecelias, soft as the wind that kisses your skin
Really, he wants to be able to treasure you as much as he can in the time you have together
Today was a picnic date kind of day. A basket filled with fresh, ripe sunsettias and a few dishes you both worked together to make (mostly you, after what happened with Venti's apple cake) sat on top of a sturdy blanket laid on the grass. Head laid in your lap, the wandering bard strummed idly on his lyre, adding a lovely backdrop to an already perfect day.
Romantic:
Kaeya
Of course, the suave Captain doesn't stop with honeyed words
Mysterious as he is, he takes what he does in stride
If he could spend all his life entwined with you, he'd die a happy man
Kaeya is the type of partner to romance with candlelight and nighttime strolls on the beach
A little cheesy, yes, but all the more to sweep you off your feet
Flirty, he likes to take his time with his love and while he similarly treasures his s/o, it's in the way the fairytales are written
Perhaps a little cliche at times
Nevertheless, he's the type of partner to sweep you into a dance despite there being no music and dip you low (whether you both lose balance and fall is up to gravity)
He'll show his affection physically, whether through a quick kiss when you stop by the Favonious Knight's HQ, or pulling you close when you walk through a crowd on a market day
Teasing is also a big thing, if he can make you blush, his mission is accomplished
In privacy, expect his treatment to be the same--it wouldn't do any good if he leaves his dear s/o confused about how he feels
Once again, you take his hand and he sweeps you into a lively waltz, sweeping across the living room floor. Not once do his eyes leave yours. All he ever needs is the feel of you close and the rush of his heart in his chest that bubbles into something fonder when your laugh reaches his ears.
Xiao
Not the best with words, Xiao shows his love through his actions
Little gifts, helping now and then with commissions and clearing the road, he'll do it all with no expectation of thanks (should you thank him, he'll be extremely grateful for the recognition but also perhaps unsure how to react)
He doesn't tend towards physically showing affection to his s/o, so when he does, expect them to show his utter devotion
Often, Xiao questions what it is that he did to deserve such a love, but as soon as you appear in his view, it no longer matters because as long as you believe him to be worthy, why wouldn't he be?
His love is based deeply in trust. The heart is a fragile thing and to someone who's suffered so much in his lifetime, he guards it fiercely to protect himself
When he finally does allow himself the comfort of a relationship, he'll soak it up entirely
Nights spent stargazing on the top of Wangshu Inn, pinkies intertwined, or bodies held together tightly with the sweet exchange of breath
Every touch that he offers is gentle, reverent, and serves to remind him that what he's experiencing is real
He tried, really, for the thing on the plate to turn out the way that you usually make it. It's a far cry from what he remembers, but you set it down and bring your hands to his face. The sight of your beaming smile warms him deeply and he pulls you in close for a kiss.
Zhongli
Be still, my beating heart-
Just as he's full of information from the flowers of Liyue to the deepest cracks in the soil, he loves fully and unapologetically
He's lived through many eras and seen so much that it's hard to not want to express how he feels as he feels it
Deeply appreciative of whatever his s/o does and does for him
He indulges in every word, touch, feeling, and look- He's not a greedy man, but when it comes to love? There's a deep desire to feel it all
There are many ways that Zhongli expresses that love, a few being through your daily strolls through Liyue Harbor and the daily and nightly rituals the two of you have settled down into
His favorite is probably the mornings
There's something about waking up wrapped up in your lover's arms, head resting on their chest as the sun's warm beams shine through the windows that's utterly satisfying
Zhongli indulges in these little moments, favoring them over all else
Once in a while, he'll take you back to where your first date was to reminisce, perhaps even (jokingly) mention little embarrassing things either of you did
Zhongli watches as you sip at your drink and admires the way the sun compliments your eyes. You're preoccupied by the falling leaves, it seems, mentioning how they're just as brilliant gold as his. Though the feeling he feels is far from the excitement of butterflies, it has settled into a comforting sort of warmth that hopes you feel as well.
Passionate:
Childe
This man's love is wild like his personality
Loud, fun, and never quite predictable, he loves like a whirlwind and with an enthusiasm to match no other
Lots of teasing going on here, to make you blush or to mess with you, you'll never know
But it's his unapologetic fire that drew you to him to begin with
When he's not occupied with work, he'll drag you to go sight seeing
Every experience is a new experience, no matter if it's something that seems so everyday or not
His affection is in the form of tightly held hands (he doesn't want to lose you with how quickly he weaves through the crowd), well-placed winks, and kisses to steal your breath away
He also loves in a way that's fiercely protective. His job is a dangerous one and, with the way he's open with your relationship, his affection serves to protect you
But don't forget that despite his passion, he's a man who deeply treasures those close to him and, as his s/o, you'll be showered with only the best he can give you
It was only a quick break in your day, he'd assured, but it quickly became another round of seeing Liyue through his eyes. In the span of only an hour, you've already spotted an untouched patch of glaze lilies, sampled rich Li-style cuisine and fresh Yue-style cuisine, helped a young girl fetch her kite from atop a tree, and now are working your way (or rather, Childe is working your way for you) to a little area behind the busy streets to show you a pack of dogs he'd befriended. Fondly, you smile and watch as he beckons them out of hiding.
Diluc
Diluc lives for the way that his s/o brings the best out of him and, in return, he does the same back
He exudes the air of a gentleman with the way he shows his affection, but, whether intentionally or not, in an utterly enticing way
Being busy during the day with running the tavern and the winery as well as at night as the Darknight Hero (he insists you stop calling him that as well, but you don't miss the light flush of pride each time), the time he dedicates to you is left in the early morning long before you leave for the day and the evening as he settles just before he sets off
During morning time, he's often fond of running his hands over you, feeling each dip and curve, memorizing the way your hair falls and the way your lips curve when you smile
It's a quiet sort of passion
His love is expressed in the fond murmurs against your shoulder and head, sharing those moments of deep intimacy both physical and not
In the evenings, you both settle in front of the fireplace, sharing a drink or two
There's sometimes a certain look in his eye that sets your heart aflame in the dimly lit room, and sometimes he sets off a little later that night in lieu of a few more stolen moments with you
Diluc slides into your shared bed in the early hours of the morning, a bit later than usual. The shift stirs you just enough to wake up to two arms pulling you to his chest and a deep breath with his nose buried in your hair. He's no doubt exhausted. Eyes bleary, you turn until you're facing him and loosely wrap an arm around his waist. In the moments you're still half-awake, you hear a low murmur of 'love you' and you smile against his skin.

that anon is making quite a leap, from Randy thinks Justin should've found another man, to Randy doesn't like Gale. Actors, unlike us, don't have the same trouble blurring the lines between character and actor who plays said character. I've never seen Randy treat Gale with anything less than enthusiasm, in fact. But I have seen other interviews where Randy says he knows fandom doesn't like his opinion, but he thinks Brian was a choice Justin made as a kid, and it would be healthier if he grew out of it at some point. He mentioned the line that he says to Jennifer when they're talking about *her* age gap romance, when she draws a parallel with him and Brian, and he responds, 'yeah, but I was only 17 then.' In other words, as an adult, he wouldn't have chosen the same way.
Then Randy capitulates (the interviewer was totally a shipper and sort of insisted, lol) and says okay, maybe Randy gets with Brian, but for personal growth's sake, he'd at least like Randy to go out and have other experiences before they wind up together. It's on youtube, an interview when they did a reunion at Babylon for charity or something.
BTW, I don't agree with Randy either, lol, I agree with you and anon, that Justin and Brian were always end game. I just don't think his opinion has anything to do with his friendship with Gale.
Hey anon!
Yeah that's what I said there is no correlation between his feelings on Brian being linked to Gale.
As I pointed out in the previous asks Randy is 100% entitled to his feelings on his experience on the show and what went on behind the scenes. He can't do right for doing wrong, I've never taken fandom as seriously as others in regards to the actors offscreen in terms of what they say/do. I just appreciate them giving me my favourites anything after that is a bonus.
Their friendship wasn't based on just playing opposite each other onscreen because that would certainly be limited. Gale has talked about how they had interests in common in real life and that's what bonded them. To be fair it's not only Randy who expressed his dislike over certain britin/individual storylines Gale did too, along with the other actors on their plots.
It's all fiction after all here for you to enjoy in fandom spaces and have fun as an escape. Your headcanons are yours to have once canon is done, do with the story what you will!
#britin#queer as folk#soph asks#fans blurring the lines#is when it gets crazy#trust me ive seen it#it even happened with these two#anyways just have fun#enjoy your faves#randy harrison

in regards to ur last rb—I agree when it’s brought up in the context of amoral stuff like ur tags, it’s baseless, but I also see people talk about All people who engage in all nsfw talk with similar sentiment as the first picture op shared. The “culture” is like. The prevailing Christian religious sentiment that all sex outside of private, monogamous heterosexual marriage is inherently bad or dirty and that seeps into everything else without people being aware of it. Yes “purity culture” does get used in extreme cases to try to handwave the inherent harmfulness of certain things, but there there is 100% definitely people being anti sex work or anti kink or even anti (all) nsfw just because they live in a culture with Christian values ingrained in their heads. This has warped to people just being straight up homophobic when talking about hypothetical scenarios at places like Pride. I’ve seen people call artists disgusting for literally just mentioning drawing nsfw at all. I see people complaining that the thought of someone having a NSFW account makes them disgusted. That they’d look at their friends differently if they had them (as ridiculous as this sounds since ostensibly at some point most adult people will have sex. That sex work can never be consensual or a valid and protected form of work because sex with strangers is inherently damaging to the woman’s soul/energy or some shit. These are all real takes I’ve seen from people who would never consider themselves conservative. People just don’t like thinking about it which is completely understandable, but then use that discomfort—without analyzing where it comes from—to start talking shit about anyone who engages in any nsfw space, exaggerating how public it is because nsfw in public is bad, but not all spaces r public (Bdsm clubs and nsfw twitters aren’t , etc)). I think to not point out how this kneejerk reaction is based in Christian, American purism and abstinence is to be disingenuous. This ask is coming from someone with personal experience with Christian fundamentalism and being raised directly in that climate btw if that gives some context to my perspective or anything.
The thing is, American fundamentalism has influenced mainstream culture beyond just the effects of purity culture. Purity culture is an extremely specific thing, with an extremely specific definition. Condensing all negative influences of American fundamentalism to just "purity culture" waters down both the issues being discussed and the meaning of the term. "Americans are culturally uncomfortable with sex largely because the Puritan foundations have still not been fully dealt with and unlearned, and this discomfort and repression can be found both online and offline," and "using the term 'purity culture' in discussions of online fandom debate is ridiculous and insulting for people who have actually had to survive purity culture, which is a real-life issue" are both true statements.
