“I don't know what to do anymore, Brulee,” you sighed to your sister-in-law, blowing on your tea before taking a sip of the hot sweet liquid. You'd spent a great deal of time with her since your wedding to Katakuri three months ago, and you felt comfortable talking to her about anything and everything. She loved her brother and wanted him to be happy, just as much as she wanted you to be happy with him.
“Have you talked to him about it?” She asked, stirring sugar into her tea, making small clinks as the spoon rubbed against the edge of the porcelain cup.
“I mean, I mentioned a few times that Mama has been more than enthusiastic about grandchildren,” you placed your teacup back down on the gold rimmed plate, “but he just gives a huff and changes the subject. He barely even kisses me. Maybe I'm not pretty enough for him”
“That is certainly not the case!” Brulee exclaimed, “sister, you are beautiful! A woman truly worthy of my darling big brother! I think perhaps… perhaps he's scared of hurting you? Hes always been a gentle soul”
“Mama chose me for a reason,” you pouted, “my people are larger than most, stronger, and she knew how much I want children when she picked me, he should know I'm more than capable of holding my own. Mama isn't stupid, she didn't pick some flimsy human for a reason”
“Maybe it's time to lay it on thick then,” Brulee suggested with a mischievous smile, “buy some pretty new lingerie, sweet perfume, light some candles, seduce him”
“Brulee!” You giggled, not expecting the woman to be so forward, “shopping trip then?”
“Shopping trip!” She clapped excitedly.
⋆★⋆★⋆★⋆★⋆
Katakuri was due in at any moment. He often had a meeting with Mama after dinner, as a Sweet Commander and the Minister of Flour it was important that he and the other ministers and commanders meet a few times a week to keep up to date with the happenings in Totto Land. Tonight was one of those meetings, so you'd had time to prepare for your grand scheme of seduction. Shaving every hair from your body, applying perfumes and lotions that smelt like baked goods, putting on a pretty new set of pink lingerie - a lace trimmed mesh mini dress and matching thong - and setting the mood with vanilla candles and soft music. Everything was ready and you paced the room nervously before finally settling on the edge of the bed, waiting for the heavy footsteps in the hall that signalled the approach of your husband.
Your legs rubbed together in anticipation, losing your virginity to such a large man was no small event, but it should have happened months ago on your wedding night, and you were more than ready for him to finally claim you. Not to mention, you were eager to present Mama with a grandchild - you wanted to fit in here, but the longer you went without signs of pregnancy, the more she subconsciously frowned in your presence. She was an intimidating woman, you wanted to please her.
Heavy footsteps and the unlatching of the door alerted you to Katakuri's arrival, and you stood tall as he entered. Your kind were large, yourself standing at 9 feet tall, but Katakuri was a giant of a man, almost twice your size at 16 feet. You picked at the cuticles of your fingers nervously as you waited for him to latch the door and turn to you, his expression unreadable as he noticed you standing there and took in your appearance and the romantic atmosphere. He removed his scarf slowly, he'd shown you his true face before the wedding, not wanting to force you into a marriage if you were going to be scared of him, and his nose wiggled as he smelt the sweet scents in the air.
“What is this?” He asked nervously.
“This is… me… asking you to take me to bed,” you tried to feign confidence but it was hard to form a coherent sentence or keep his eye. He languidly closed the space between you and fiddled with the hem of your dress, rubbing the thin silky fabric between his thumb and index.
“I take you to bed every night,” he stated.
“Kat… you know that's not what I mean,” your hand laid against his bare chest where his vest lay open, tracing one of the bright pink tattooed stripes that ran down it. He shivered under your touch and quickly took a step back, your hand falling limp to your side.
“I can't,” he said softly.
“Why not?” You pouted, feeling hurt at his rejection, “am I not pretty enough? Do you not want to give me children? Are you… are you ashamed of me?” A tear formed and rolled down your cheek as you admitted to the insecurities.
He was back in front of you in a flash, wiping the tear gently with his thumb, his large hand easily encompassing the entire side of your face as you leaned into it and looked at him longingly. “That's not it! You're beautiful, so unbearably stunning,” he quickly assured you, “I… I can barely keep myself from you, night after night, but I… I can't… I don't want to hurt you”
You held his hand to your face and blinked up at him, his sad expression looking out of place on his strong features. “You won't hurt me Kat, you have to trust that I'd tell you if you were hurting me. I'm not glass, I'm strong, Mama chose me for a reason. You won't hurt me. I want you, Katakuri, please”
His breath hitched as you found a new wave of confidence, running your hand up his chest and up to his jaw, tracing one of his sharp teeth with your fingertip, showing him how unafraid you were. Your hand ran back down as you circled him, Katakuri turning with you as though it were a dance, till his back was to the bed. You pressed against his chest and he let you move him, falling to sit on the bed as you climbed into his lap to straddle it. Raised on your knees you could just barely reach his mouth, and you pressed a hot, desperate kiss onto him, a small whine escaping him as you forced your tongue past his sharp teeth, wet muscles meeting and crashing against each other for the first time. You pushed the vest from his shoulders, letting it fall to the bed, and ran your hands over his body, guiding his hands to your waist before pulling him down by his neck so you could lower yourself to grind against his forming erection.
Your tongue ran up the scar on the side of his face till your mouth met his ear, tugging on the lobe with your teeth before whispering to him. “Breed me, Katakuri”
He made a possessive growl before grabbing your waist and flipping you both so you laid underneath him. His strong hands made quick work of your pretty new lingerie, tearing them from your body and revealing your soft bare skin that prickled with goosebumps as the cool night air touched it. Cool air replaced by hot wet saliva, his thick tongue ran over you, eagerly tasting and devouring every inch of you, making you moan and writhe as he sucked and nipped at your more sensitive spots, leaving marks over your entire body. The only place he avoided was your needy centre, teasing you and working you up as he touched and licked at your arms and legs and torso and neck, till finally he ran his tongue up your thigh and pushed your legs apart, groaning as he ran a fat stripe up your dripping virgin cunt. This flavour was all for him, nobody else would ever taste such delights, he thought to himself as he devoured you greedily.
You moaned and tugged at his short purple hair as he lapped and sucked at your sensitive pussy, rolling your clit with his tongue, his breath hot and vibrating against you as he let out satisfied groans and held your thighs around his face. He looked up at you with hungry eyes that had your hips rolling on their own accord, unintentionally riding his tongue as he grinned against you, careful to control your movements so as not to catch your soft plush thighs against his sharp teeth. You practically screamed from pleasure as his tongue bullied its way inside you, head falling to the pillow with a string of unabashed moans and back arching as he thrust it in and out of your tight entrance, before you suddenly shook and came on his tongue without warning. Katakuri made a contented growl and cleaned your release with his tongue, savouring your taste on it, his eyes closed and face relaxed as he drank you.
“So sweet,” he sighed, running his tongue through your folds once more like he couldn't get enough, “you're not ready for me yet though, I'll have to stretch that sweet tight hole a little more”
You moaned and bucked as he slid two thick fingers inside you, pumping you and scissoring his fingers to stretch you out, taking his time to get you open enough for him. He added a third, his tongue returning to your clit and distracting you from the slight sting of the stretch as he added a forth, the lewd wet squelch of your pussy almost deafening over the soft romantic music as he finger fucked you with increasing speed. One last flick of your clit with his tongue, and you were gushing around his hand, his brows raising in surprise at the volatile release before quickly lapping at it, his hand wet against your thigh as he held you tight to his face and groaned against you.
You were shaking and panting as he finally let your legs go, licking his lips and watching while your hips rolled off the bed, desperate for him to fill you. “Kat, please,” you moaned, “I want you so bad”
“I know my sweet,” he stood at the end of the bed and unzipped his pants teasingly slowly, kicking off his shoes and sliding his pants down till his monstrous cock sprang free, your breath catching in your throat at the sheer size of it. Your thighs rubbed together anxiously, wondering if you could even fit him all inside you. “I can't wait to fill you with my seed,” he purred as he climbed back onto the bed, your eyes greedily scanning every taut muscle that formed his large body, every tight corded bulge and curve that you craved to run your tongue over. You couldn't help but reach between your bodies and take his cock in your hand, so hot and hard, your hand far too small to wrap around it. He groaned and bucked into your palm, precum dripping from the tip as you stroked him experimentally.
“So big,” you whined, “want you to fill me up”
“I will, my sweet,” removing your hand gently as he began to position himself between your legs. Your eyes rolled as his fat tip pressed against your soaked entrance, his precum beading against you and adding to the lubrication. “You're gonna look so good when you're fat and round with my babies,” he purred, pressing into you devastatingly slow, your nails sinking into his forearms to make deep half moons as your pussy stretched around him. “There's a good girl,” he groaned as he fit more and more of his cock inside you, “so tight, so desperate to milk me for all my seed, I'm gonna give it all to you sweet girl”
He grunted and breathed heavy against your shoulder as he bottomed out, feeling the bulge of his own cock inside you as his abdomen pressed against yours. Your thighs shook at the sheer fullness, his cock pressing against every sensitive part of your walls and stretching you impossibly wide, every tiny movement making you whine as he collected himself, trying his best to hold back from immediately slamming into your virgin pussy.
After an age he slowly slid back out, only his tip remaining inside you before penetrating you again. He set a slow, deep pace, your thighs wrapping as best you could around him, pressing your heels to his ass and urging him to go faster. “More,” you whined, “more, please, breed me”
He let out a low groan and nipped your shoulder with his sharp teeth before grabbing your hips and slamming into you. You let out a shrill pleasured scream with every thrust, the entire island would no doubt hear you as he fucked you hard, your smaller body jostling back and forth with every heavy pounding of his fat cock. You screamed as an orgasm ripped through you, Katakuri grabbing the headboard for support as he groaned at the added tightness, never letting up on his brutal pace.
“Yes yes yes yes,” you cried, seeing stars and making deep scratches on his back and chest, back arching of the bed as he growled down at you, watching your tits bounce with every deep thrust, watching the way the membrane around your entrance pushed pulled with every movement, refusing to let his cock go, begging for him to release inside you. He held himself pack, his sheer willpower keeping him on the precipice, determined to make you cum one more time before he would reward himself.
“Gonna- gonna cum again-” you whined, barely able to speak through your panting, eyes glazed over, expression pained with a goofy, fucked out smile as your husband fucked the coherence out of you. Having only ever expressed orgasms by your own hand, you were in absolute nirvana, body tingling with the effects of three orgasms and quickly feeling the approach of a forth. “Want- want your cum- hnng- fil-ll me up, p-please”
“Gonna breed you good baby,” Katakuri groaned, headboard creaking under the strain as his thrusts became erratic and desperate, “fuck, gonna cum too, fuck”
The tightening of your pussy as you came put him over the edge, headboard giving out and snapping violently as he let out a roar and spilled out inside you, the sheer volume of his pent up release combined with his thick cock making cum immediately drip from your hole, Katakuri making final thrusts as your orgasm settled. He stayed inside you as he stilled, pulling back only a little as his cock twitched and made one last deposit, keeping himself as a plug so you had no choice but to accept his cum. You panted hard, laying against the soft mattress, willing your body to open up and accept his seed, willing it to take and make you round with his child.
“I love you,” he finally stuttered through heavy breaths, throwing broken pieces of headboard to the floor, sweeping away wood fragments with his hand and laying beside you, pulling you with him, cock still warm deep inside your cunt. “So beautiful… so sweet for me..”
“I love you too Kat,” you panted, arms wrapping around his neck and face nestling against his while rouge beads of cum slid down your thighs. “But maybe we should invest in a stronger bed,” you giggled.

PAC: July 2024 Predictions
Hello beautiful people! This is my last week posting/sending readings out for a while! I will be back, but I just need a moment to focus on real life. So if you would like to book a reading with me, don’t hesitate to message me privately! Anyway, tonight I will be talking about your July 2024. So please, without further ado, please select the pile that resonates with you!
Top Left-to-Bottom Right: (1-3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pile One: I heard "weighing out your options". I think you may be in the middle of figuring out your taste in love. However, you may be making a risky decision. Remember this everything that feels good ain't always good for you. This month, you will learn to be stingier with your love. Also, there may be someone around you that is negligent. There is no reason to take the high road with them, you need to figure out what goes on and come up with a resolution to prevent this from going on any further. I feel like you will be cutting ties with someone who has been embarrassing you. It will be sad and hard to do, but you only have one life. I also heard "count your blessings". You need to see the light in today. Act like you care about what's going on around you. There is someone who has been picking with you, it's time to cut them off! I see you feeling relieved by the end of the month (only because Leo season aka the best season has startedddd) Overall, this month seems like a good month to start over. Reignite the passion in your life and start today!
Pile Two: "Plagued with confusion" is what I just heard. I feel like this July will be kind of hard for you, Pile Two. There is something that will feel off about this month. Get your mind out the gutter, for one. But also, there is something that is feeding on your energy. It feels vampiric. A person who treats you like a baby or has a newborn baby could be significant. You are your own person. You show up as yourself and get the job done! But you have to stop letting people take advantage of your innocence. I'm watching this anime called Nana. Nana K is the very innocent, perky, loving friend who wouldn't hurt a fly. That's you, Pile Two. But just because you wouldn't hurt a fly, doesn't mean the fly won't hurt you. It seems as though you will be on a quest for independence. Trying to find your way while also trying to see what's your niche. You are young and you will figure it out. Don't let anyone tell you thank you can't. If you really want it that bad, then it can be achieved. This is cliche to say, but just believe! "Wish Upon A Star!" could be a relevant movie to you.
Pile Three: You could be taking a trip out of the country. Barcelona comes to mind. I see you also being receptive to food requests as well. You may be a picky eater, but this month you won't be, lol. Some of you are in summer school, trying to bring a grade up/trying to make the next school year easier. You should try to receive counseling as much as you can. It will ease your mind and in return, your grades will be much better. I heard the word proficient. During this time, you could find yourself doing a lot of backpacking. This is very specific but if you have been praying on someone's downfall, they will receiving their rightfully deserved karma. I am hearing a leprechaun laugh. This is someone's abusive ex or manipulative ex-bestie. I think that you will try to keep your calm this month. You should repeat mantras to yourself, everyday. Maybe you should listen to some more Jhene Aiko. I heard Kevin Gates??? LOL! You will be in touch with your feminine energy during this month so try not to be so active. Be ready for anything, beloved. And lastly, some of you will try out for a sports team. You'll get in because of your connection to the coach or one of the primetime players. Also, some of you could be going to a sports game for free because of one of the players/coaches.

The Ultimate Treasure Hunt
summary:
When the opportunity to go on another treasure hunt comes up for the 118, they all join together for the adventure. However, this hunt may be life changing for a certain member of the team.
disclaimer: I have never been to California, so I'm sure a lot of the information here is wrong, although I used google to the best of my ability. Please suspend disbelief (as we do each week while watching 911) and, if you see something wrong... no you didn't. Also, there's a dose of everyone in this fic, but it is mainly bucktommy. You've been warned!
Read below or on ao3 (6.1k words)
“What?!” Buck groaned, exasperated as he cracked open the door.
First, there had been a single knock on the door, which he had gladly ignored in favor of taking Tommy's shirt off.
Then there were three knocks in a row, which caused them to pause, before Tommy continued kissing his way down Buck's chest.
Finally, a rapid and endless succession of knocks had Tommy flopping down beside Buck on the bed, declaring that he gave up.
Buck grumpily grabbed his own shirt off the floor and put it on before heading downstairs.
Which led to now, a sexually frustrated Buck standing at his door with all of his coworkers staring back at him.
Every. Single. One.
Even Ravi.
“Why are you all here?” Buck asked, both confused and annoyed.
“We need to come in.” Bobby sounded serious.
Buck stood straighter, his heart began to race. “Is... Did something happen? Maddie, is she-”
“Maddie's fine,” Chimney interrupted. “She's home with Jee. All good.”
“Christopher?”
“He's good too,” Eddie answered.
“So...”
“So we need to come in, Buck,” Hen whined.
“Yeah, you're being really weird, dude.” Eddie pushed his way past the rest of the group, getting closest to the door. “Come on, open up.” He opened the door, ignoring the resistance from Buck on the other side.
Everyone began to filter in, stopping when they noticed Tommy making his way down the stairs, tugging on his shirt.
“Tommy's here!” Hen exclaimed with a knowing smile.
“Yes, he is,” Buck replied. “It's the first time we've had forty-eight off together for almost two weeks.”
Buck had gotten right to it as soon as Tommy opened the door that evening. Tommy had suggested dinner first, but going two weeks without seeing his boyfriend naked made him hungry for something other than baked chicken.
“Hello everyone,” Tommy greeted, giving them a wave.
Chimney smiled. “Good to see you, Buddy!” he exclaimed, wrapping Tommy in a hug. “Solid as ever,” he noted.
“Okay, okay,” Buck pulled on Chimney's arm, “Let's not discuss the solidity of my boyfriend. Why are you all here, and how do I get you all to leave?”
“There's another treasure out there,” Ravi explained, speaking up for the first time since they'd arrived at Buck's door. He handed Buck a piece of paper. “Apparently, we all have to find it together.”
“Hey, if you wanted the treasure all to yourself,” Chimney said, eying Ravi, “you shouldn't have told Cap.”
“I didn't!” Ravi defended. “He read about it over my shoulder at the station.”
“Well, that's just a lesson on being aware of your surroundings,” Buck replied, looking over the paper.
“I'm confused,” Tommy said, “Another treasure? As in, there was one before?”
“There was,” Bobby replied, excited.
“Sort of,” Hen added.
“We were robbed,” Chimney explained.
“I was robbed,” Ravi corrected. “Technically, I found it first.”
“I don't really get what I'm reading,” Buck said, holding out the paper.
Hen grabbed it from him, “Different guy, real treasure,” she explained simply.
“This guy does treasure hunts around the US,” Ravi continued, “You get on a list, and when one comes to your area, you get notified.”
“How do you know this isn't a scam?” Buck asked. “What was found in the other hunts?”
“He posts about these hunts on YouTube, has a pretty big following,” Ravi answered. “I don't know what people have found. Everyone who participates has to sign an NDA.”
Tommy lifted a hand to speak. “But you guys have done this before?”
“Ugh!” Eddie groaned. “We are wasting so much time. The hunt we did before was different from this one. Buck, please explain to your man so we can go.”
“It was a whole thing,” Buck said dismissively, “we searched for the treasure, showed up to a dead guy's house, were briefly accused of murder, blah, blah, blah.”
Tommy paused before answering. “Okay, I definitely want to circle back to the whole blah blah blah part later on, but yeah... yeah, I'm in.”
Buck's eyes widened. “You... you are?” He asked.
Tommy shrugged. “A treasure hunt sounds fun.”
“Excellent, excellent." Chimney clapped his hands together. “Let's get this show on the road. Grab your coats and shoes, boys, time's wasting.”
“Oh, wait, wait,” Ravi said, pulling something up on his phone and handing it to Tommy. “You both have to sign this.”
“What is it?”
“The NDA. All involved must sign. Once I send it, then we can start.”
Both Tommy and Buck signed, then handed it back to Ravi, who pushed a button that caused a whoosh sound on his phone.
“All good?” Hen questioned.
“All good,” Ravi confirmed. “Let's go.”
----------
“You rented a van?” Buck asked as Bobby slid the rear door open.
“There's a lot of us, Buck. You wanna ride in the bed of an F150?”
They loaded into the van one by one, Ravi calling shotgun since, “it was just supposed to be me”, and Bobby hopped in the driver's seat.
“Where are we even going?” Buck questioned.
Ravi pulled his phone from his pocket. “The first clue says 'LA is very bright, even so at night, but if you'd like to see the stars, come to me- you may even see Mars.'”
When no one spoke up, Buck rolled his eyes. “Come on, guys, that's like the most obvious clue ever. It's gotta be Griffith Observatory.”
“Oh, that's a good catch, Buck,” Hen replied.
Eddie poked at Chimney's shoulder. “I told you we'd need him for something.”
Bobby put the van in drive. “First stop: Griffith Observatory.”
----------
“This is odd,” Buck said as the pulled up to the observatory parking lot.
“What is?” Chimney asked.
“There's no one here. This place stays open until like ten o'clock, it's usually packed.”
“People can rent it for private tours though,” Ravi suggested. “Maybe someone did that.”
“And what, never showed?” Eddie asked.
Bobby parked the van. "Let's go find out."
They walked up to the observatory entrance, where a piece of paper was taped to the door.
“Come on in,” Hen read. “We've been waiting.”
She glanced back at the group, met mostly with shrugs, before reaching for the door and opening it.
“Lights are on,” Tommy observed.
“Yeah, and no one's home,” Chimney added.
Buck began wandering around, eyes filled with wonder. “This is...”
“Weird,” Ravi said.
“Cool,” Buck corrected. “I, uh, I usually come with Chris on the weekends and it's a madhouse.”
“So, the first clue got us here,” Chimney said, “but did it say anything about where we'd find clue number 2?”
Ravi shrugged. “The first clue is the only one you get sent, the rest we look for.”
Buck walked over to Tommy, who was focused on a display that talked about gamma-ray bursts. “Hey,” he said, wrapping his arm around Tommy's waist.
Tommy smiled at him. “Hey back.”
“Are you really okay with this?” Buck asked. “It's, uh, kinda ridiculous I guess, and was thrown on us out of nowhere.”
“I don't think it's ridiculous,” Tommy replied softly. “It's kinda fun, actually.”
He could see the relief come over Buck. He got like that sometimes, too much in his own head. He'd worry that everything was going to come crashing down. That he'd be too much, or his coworkers- no, his family, would be too much. It didn't matter that they'd been together for close to two years now. That Tommy enjoyed the chaos, enjoyed the friendships and found family. Buck still had those moments, those doubts, and Tommy always found a way to make them disappear.
Tommy took Buck's hand, “Come on,” he said, leading them away from where everyone else was looking around.
“Where are we going?” Buck asked.
“The main attraction, of course.”
As they walked down the hall toward the Zeiss telescope, Buck made a few pitstops at some of the exhibits. He stared at a couple photographs taken from the telescopes, then he looked over at Tommy. “You remember when we brought Jee here last year?” He smiled at the memory.
“How could I forget?” Tommy replied, nudging Buck. “You found my way with children so attractive you asked me to move in with you two days later.”
Buck laughed, but the blush that rose on his cheeks let Tommy know he wasn't far off from the truth. “Actually, I think you found my planetary knowledge so irresistible that you had no choice but to move in with me.”
“That's not not true,” Tommy admitted. He leaned over and gave Buck a peck on the cheek. “Come on, let's go before the rest of the group catches up.”
When they reached the telescope, Buck looked at it like he was a kid staring at unopened Christmas presents.
Tommy let go of his hand, moving it to his back to gently nudge him forward. “Go on,” he encouraged.
Buck cautiously walked up the steps. “I feel like I'm committing a crime.”
“Well, it is highly possible we are. This is sketchy as all hell. Might as well enjoy it before we get formally charged, though.”
“Ha ha.” Buck looked into the telescope, his breath catching at the sight. “I- It's so... It's beautiful. Tommy, you gotta come look.”
Tommy walked up the steps as the rest of the group started filtering into the room. “Wow. That's... wow.”
“I know.”
“Alright, alright, no hovering,” Eddie said, standing at the bottom of the staircase. “We all get turns.”
As they all took turns looking in the telescope, Buck noticed a piece of paper lying on the ground. He walked over to it and picked it up. “Guys!” he called out. “I found the next clue!”
The group circled around him, Bobby leaving the telescope last. “What's it say?”
“It's a menu.”
“Why would a menu be our clue?” Tommy asked.
“It's to the Churro Factory at the LA Zoo.”
Chimney reached over and took the paper. “The Churro Factory has a menu?”
“Well, I've never seen a printed one before, but I know that's it. I- I might get them every time I go,” Buck said, then quickly added, “for Christopher, of course.”
Eddie nodded. “Of course.”
“They don't have much there and, quite frankly, the churros are underrated.”
“He means no one likes them but him,” Tommy explained, rubbing Buck's back.
He was met with a glare that held no true irritation.
“Alright,” Bobby said, “to the zoo!”
Buck reached for Tommy's watch. “The zoo closed like three hours ago.”
“And no one is at the open observatory,” Hen replied. “Make it make sense.”
As they began to leave the room, Buck looked over at the telescope, biting at his bottom lip.
“Go,” Tommy said. “They won't leave without us.”
----------
“How do we just walk into a closed zoo?” Ravi asked as they headed toward the gate.
Hen shrugged. “The same way we walked into the observatory.”
Buck started looking all around, taking note of every security camera he could see. “We're going to end up on national news, aren't we? Group of Firefighters Arrested on Multiple Counts of Breaking and Entering.”
Eddie stared off into the distance, thinking. “I would not do well in prison."
Tommy smirked. “Oh, I think you'd be very well liked.”
For a second, Eddie smiled. “Really?” He asked, mulling it over for a moment before realization hit him. “Wait-”
“Okay, guys,” Bobby interrupted. “No one's going to prison. This has obviously been well planned out and okayed by the establishments we're entering.” He picked up the pace, leading them into the zoo, before mumbling out, “Hopefully.”
Red rope lined the sidewalk of the zoo, leading them directly to the churro stand. While all the other fast food stations were closed and locked up, the Churro Factory was open, with lights on.
Eddie looked down at a paper on the countertop. “Make your favorite, clean your mess.” He shrugged. “I could eat.”
Hen opened the side door to get into the stand. “They left the soft serve machine going. Churros in a warmer. Even have little donut holes.” She picked one up, throwing it over to Buck with a smile. “Since it's your favorite.”
Buck rolled his eyes, but popped the donut in his mouth anyway, moaning at the taste. “I swear, I don't understand how anyone could not love this stuff.”
“Alright, just gotta say I will not be taking orders.” Hen grabbed a cup for the ice cream, “But I will be serving myself first.”
They all fixed themselves a treat, then sat at some nearby tables and benches while they ate.
“You know, I've had a lot of really weird nights,” Buck said to Tommy, licking ice cream off his spoon, “but this one takes the cake.”
Tommy smiled. “In a good way?”
“Mhm. Great way. First the observatory, now this. I don't even care what the treasure is.”
Tommy reached over and stole a bite of Buck's whipped cream. “Great lie, Ev. You totally care about the treasure.”
Buck didn't argue. “Okay, I do. It- It's gotta be good, ya know? All this stuff is so... elaborate. It's gotta be huge.”
“I don't disagree. A little bummed we can't actually see any animals though.”
“Oh, the animals start resting around four-thirty every day, wh- which is why the zoo closes at five. It would totally screw them up if they were out walking around in the viewing areas right now.”
“Are you two plotting ways to steal the treasure and leave the rest of us behind?” Eddie asked, walking over and sitting down next to Buck on the bench.
“Oh we'd take you,” Tommy joked. “Christopher too. Flee the country, somewhere the rest of them would never find us.”
“Yeah,” Buck agreed. “But I'd need Bobby, and he'd need Athena.”
Tommy hummed. “I'd feel bad leaving Chimney behind.”
“Which adds Maddie and Jee.”
Eddie bit off a piece of churro. “Hen's a must. And Karen and the kids.” Tommy and Buck nodded in agreement.
“We'd have to take Ravi,” Buck resigned. “He'd be lost without us.”
Tommy wiped off his mouth with the napkin in his hand. “Well, Evan, I think this effectively spoils all of our plans to run away with the treasure.”
Buck patted his thigh. “Afraid so.”
Once they'd finished their snacks, they began searching for what was needed to clean up. “Found it!” Chimney yelled, pulling out a plastic tub of cleaning supplies. He removed the items one by one until a paper fell flat into the tub. “Explore nature and culture from the inside out,” he read, then lifted the page so everyone could see. “There's a picture of a butterfly on the paper.”
“That's the slogan for the Natural History Museum.” Buck didn't even have to think about it. “They have a butterfly pavilion there.”
“You're on a roll tonight, Buck,” Bobby said with a smile. “No one else stands a chance.”
----------
It took about twenty minutes to get to the Natural History Museum and, just like the previous places, there wasn't another car or person nearby.
“The butterfly pavilion is this way!” Buck waved them in his direction, practically hopping out of the van.
“He's been trying to see this for a couple years now,” Tommy explained to the group, no one able to match Buck's pace. “But it's seasonal and the timing was just never right.”
Hen watched Buck fondly as he opened the museum door and whined at Eddie to hurry up. “He's certainly not wasting the opportunity.”
Everyone was entranced when they got into the pavilion. Thousands of butterflies fluttering around them, some landing on them as they walked around.
“This is so cool,” Buck said in awe, staring at the monarch on his hand.
Tommy couldn't take his eyes off of Buck. “Yeah, it is.”
“It's like... It's like they know me, or something.”
“Who? The butterflies.”
Buck snorted and the butterfly flew away. “No, you buffoon. Whoever set this hunt up. It's basically been everything I love.”
“You're not too far off,” Ravis said, coming up behind them. “The guy who does this does research on the people he chooses for a hunt. I'm constantly hearing about the things you do on your days off, and sometimes tagging along, so...”
“So the hunt is kind of tailored to you?” Buck questioned.
Ravi shrugged. “Us, I think. Oh, I gotta see that yellow one!" He scurried off before he could be asked anymore questions.
Buck reached out a hand for Tommy to take. “Walk with me?”
“Always.”
“This treasure guy really goes all out,” Hen said, watching two butterflies as they did a dance around each other.
“Yeah,” Chimney agreed, “but I haven't seen anything that leads us to our next spot.”
Bobby came up to them, holding a little figurine in his hand. “Because you've been too distracted by these little guys. Look what I found.”
Everyone came over to look, staring at the tiny ferris wheel in Bobby's hand.
“No note?” Ravi asked.
Bobby shook his head. “No note.”
Buck took the ferris wheel from Bobby. “The pier?”
“Sounds good to me.”
Buck looked confused. “It does?”
“Well, doesn't it?”
“I don't know,” Buck looked around, eying each member of the group. “E- Everyone's agreeing with me really quickly and it, uh, it's throwing me off.”
Hen rolled her eyes as she reached behind him and started to push him toward the door. “We're agreeing cause it's obvious, you just suck at letting someone else have a turn.”
“Yeah, and we'd like to sleep sometime tonight, if possible,” Chimney added.
----------
The ride to the pier took longer than expected, and everything was in the middle of closing down as they began their stroll. Buck was surprised that neither of the security guards that passed by them said a word to them and, if he didn't know any better, he'd swear one even nodded in their direction.
“I got cotton candy!” Eddie yelled, and Buck hadn't even realized he had trailed off from the group in the first place. He walked over to Buck, pulled a chunk of the cotton candy out, and handed it to him.
Hen put a hand on her stomach. “Ugh, how can you guys even eat that after the churros?”
Buck would've responded, but he was too busy stuffing the cotton candy in his mouth.
“Popcorn?” Chimney had a huge bag of popcorn in his hands, walking up opposite from where Eddie had come from. When had he disappeared?
“I think we need to go to the ferris wheel,” Bobby said, looking down to where the wheel was still lit up, despite the lights going off everywhere else.
Chimney took a handful of popcorn and shoved it in his mouth before pointing and yelling, “to the wheel!”
When they got to the ferris wheel, the attendant was still there waiting. He let them on in groups of two, Tommy and Buck, Bobby and Ravi, Chimney and Eddie. Hen decided to sit it out, not wanting her churros to make a reappearance that night.
“This is where we said I love you the first time,” Tommy said quietly, snuggling closer to Buck as the wind picked up slightly.
Buck smiled softly, looked over at Tommy and gave him a kiss on his temple. “I remember.”
Buck had taken Tommy on a tour of what he called his “greatest hits” showing him all the spots where some of his biggest personal disasters occurred. They'd gone to the spot the firetruck landed on him, the lot where Bobby and Athena's home once stood- the spot of his pulmonary embolism; where he was struck by lightning, even the outside of Maddie and Chimney's old apartment- where he was basically told he was never actually wanted by his parents, just needed. But it was when they got to the pier, and Buck was in the middle of telling Tommy about losing Christopher, that he realized Tommy had actually listened to all of his stories. He'd asked questions, comforted him when the conversations got rough. Tommy always either had a hand on Buck's back, or he'd link their hands together tightly, so Buck knew he wasn't alone.
Buck had stopped mid story, stared at Tommy like he did the first time they kissed, and when Tommy asked if Buck was okay, he just said it.
“I love you, Tommy.”
He wasn't scared, didn't even care if Tommy said it back. He meant it. More than he'd ever meant it before. He didn't just love him, he was in love with him.
It didn't take long for Tommy to say it back, as soon as he got over the initial shock. “I love you, Evan,” he breathed out, as though he'd been holding it in for far too long, “so much.”
They kissed, giggled and whispered like little schoolchildren, then Tommy had asked Buck to finish his story.
Buck wrapped his arm around Tommy's, the memory leaving him feeling warm against the coolness of the night. “You made that day perfect.”
“You make every day perfect.”
He said it with such ease, like he didn't even have to think about it. Buck knew he should be used to it by now. This wasn't the first time Tommy casually informed him that Buck being in his life made it better. He did it regularly, often in passing, like it was the simplest, most honest thing in the world.
“Really?” Buck questioned once the butterflies in his stomach flew away. “Even the day we moved into our place and I tried to replace the toilet but somehow I ended up flooding the bathroom with neighborhood sewage?”
“Oh God, don't remind me,” Tommy said with a groan, although he couldn't stop himself from grinning. “I still have nightmares about that smell!”
Buck laughed. “That was a disaster.”
“Yeah, and Maddie loved us showing up on her doorstep at midnight with a week's worth of clothes.”
“A true bonding experience.”
“Mhm. Definitely.”
The ride ended too quickly in Buck's opinion, but he knew they had more important things to do.
“Were we supposed to see something up there?” Ravi asked. “Because I got nothing.”
“There was a definitely an arrow in the sky, pointing us toward the east.” Bobby was convinced.
“That was a plane, and it was not pointing us anywhere.”
“While you nerds were going on a ride, I actually talked to the kind attendant over there,” Hen said, pointing to the man who was now closing up the wheel, “and he handed me this.” She held up a paper. “It's coordinates. Two, actually.”
“We're supposed to go to two places?” Chimney asked.
“This is all I got.” Hen handed the paper to Tommy. “Top one's got a drawing of a chopper on it and says 'hope you can fly.'”
Tommy studied it for a moment before speaking. “Okay. Okay, Buck and I will go to the first coordinates, you guys go to the second and we'll call when we get there.”
Chimney put his hands on his hips. “Wait, why do you guys get to go to the chopper?”
“Uh,” Tommy looked around to the group, “do any of you know how to fly a helicopter?”
When no one responded, he nodded. “Thought so.”
“Well, a couple more of us could go with you,” Eddie suggested.
“Some helicopters are two seaters,” Tommy explained, eying Eddie. “Would you like to hang onto the landing skids should the situation arise?”
Buck sighed. “Okay, guys, it- it's obvious I get boyfriend-of-the-pilot privilege, so lets, you know, get moving.”
----------
Once Tommy looked up the coordinates and saw it was only about a ten minute walk away, he and Buck set off on foot while the others took the van.
They arrived at a building that, at the top, had a helipad. “I've landed here a couple times for emergencies. Actually, once was after the tsunami.”
"First of all, show off,” Buck said with a laugh. “Second of all, sometimes I- I still can't believe all the times we were so close to meeting but, just, never did.”
“I know. It kinda sucks to think about, but everything happens when it's supposed to, right?”
“I think we did.”
Sure enough, a chopper was waiting at the helipad. There was a note on the door with another coordinates, stating that coming here was only the first part of the clue. It also mentioned that, should there be any others joining the expedition, they would see them again once they arrived.
“Why don't you shoot Bobby a text,” Tommy suggested as they got seated in the cockpit. “We'll call when we get wherever we're going.”
Tommy put the coordinates on his phone, then did a quick check before getting the chopper up and running.
“It's so beautiful up here,” Buck said, looking all around at the city lit up against the darkness of the night. They'd been in the sky for a while now, and Buck had no idea where they were going, but right now he didn't really care.
Tommy glanced at Buck. “Yeah, it is. Reminds me of when we first met.”
“That was a little less beautiful,” Buck recalled, but he was still grinning from ear to ear. “But, yeah. We've been on a lot of these rides since then.”
“No opportunities for my fake mouth static since the first time though, which is severely disappointing.”
“And it was so good too.”
“Oh, it still is, Evan. Trust me.”
Buck motioned with his hand to encourage Tommy. “Well, please, let's hear it.”
Tommy let out a hesitant breath. “I'm not sure you're ready.”
“I think I can handle it. Come on, hon, give it to me.”
“Okay, okay, but hold onto something cause this is- it's serious.”
Buck dramatically grabbed onto his seatbelt as Tommy cleared his throat and began a round of fake mouth static that had Buck turning down the volume on his headphones.
“Wow,” he said once it was over. “That was...”
“Amazing? Incredible? Earth shattering?”
“Just as terrible as the first time,” Buck laughed out.
“Aye!” Tommy feigned offense. “I literally won an award for that.”
“It, uh, might've had more to do with the rescues, but-”
“Semantics.”
“Is it though?”
“Well, looky there,” Tommy said, changing the subject as he began to descend, “we have reached our destination.”
They landed in a clearing smack dab in the middle of what looked like nothing but woods. Buck couldn't be sure though, because it was dark all around them.
“I swear, if we get murdered, I'm gonna come back and haunt Ravi,” Buck said as he unbuckled and got out of the helicopter. “Should we, uh, should we call the guys?”
Tommy paused, looking off into the distance. “I see a light this way,” he said, pointing toward a clearing through the woods. “Looks like a path. Let's go look,” he suggested. “We'll call in a minute.”
As they started down the path, small lampposts with flickering lights began to light their way.
“Where are we?” Buck asked with wonder in his voice.
“I think it's a state park.”
They came upon a white bench, which Buck wouldn't have paid much attention to if not for the small, black box sitting on top of it.
“You think it's for us?” he asked.
Tommy nodded. “I'd bet on it.”
Buck picked it up, opening it to find an old looking key. He smiled. “I think we're getting close.”
Tommy grinned back, reaching out for Buck's hand and nodding toward the path. “Let's keep going.”
“It's weird,” Buck said as he moved closer into Tommy's space. He always found himself doing that; he loved being as close to Tommy as he could, and he loved it even more that Tommy loved it. “I've known pretty much all the spots we've gone to tonight, but not this one.”
“Hm,” Tommy hummed. “Yeah, that is weird.”
It got a little brighter as they went on, and eventually they found themselves in a large, open area with tons of brightly blooming plants, and a gently flowing creek with a wide white bridge over it, connecting two separate gardens. Buck would've been fascinated by it, but he was too focused on the fact that he and Tommy were not alone anymore.
The rest of the group was already there, plus a few more. Athena, Karen, and, “Maddie? What are you doing here?”
She shrugged. “Carla came over with Christopher to watch Jee. Chim said something about treasure, and I'm not missing out. ”
Tommy let go of his hand and Buck took a few steps forward. “How- How did you all get here already?”
“We're like a twenty minute drive out of the city, Buck,” Hen told him.
“But... What-”
“Alright, alright, you've got the key, Buckaroo,” Chimney interrupted, snapping toward Buck for him to get on with it. “It's all you.”
Buck hadn't even noticed the treasure chest, set dead center on the bridge. Bobby was closest to it, but he was just standing there, a softness on his face that would have had Buck asking questions if it weren't for the fact they found the treasure!
Buck continued until he reached the chest, then bent down, placing the key into it. He turned it, but paused before opening the box. “So we all agree to share everything that's in here?” He trusted his friends, he really did, but it never hurt to clarify.
Bobby gave his shoulder a squeeze. “I think this one's all for you, kid,” he said before walking over to Athena.
Buck barely heard him. He was already opening the box to see a single ring lying on top of a fluffy, velvet pillow.
This is when realization should have set in. Actually, when he'd think back on it later, there were many times realization should have set in, but it didn't.
Instead, Buck picked up the ring to take a closer look. Black silicone with a red line around the center. “It's a ring,” he said to the group. “And it... it says something on the inside, I think.” He squinted, trying to focus on the words, but the low light from the nearby lampposts wasn't nearly enough.
“Buck,” Maddie was practically pleading, “turn around!”
“What?”
Groans came from the people all around him.
“Turn around!” Hen echoed.
“For the love of God, Buck!” Eddie yelled.
“Okay, okay! Buck stood, ring still held between his fingers, and turned around. His breath caught in his throat when he saw Tommy there, kneeling, smiling up at him.
“It says 'to me, you are perfect,'” Tommy began, his voice shaky, but not from nerves. “Which I know is a little cheesy,” he admitted, “but it's true. Evan Buckley, getting to share this life with you for nearly two years now has been my greatest adventure. They say love finds you when you least expect it, and I think I can speak for the both of us when I say ours was a little unexpected. I love you so much. Every part of you. Evan, will you marry me?”
Stunned was too light of a word to use, if you asked Buck. He was frozen in place, mouth hanging open, unable to find words until he heard someone clear their throat behind him.
“You... you did all this for me? Th- the whole treasure hunt?”
“Yeah, yes. Yes, it was for you. For this.”
Buck sucked in a shaky breath, reaching down to hold onto Tommy's shoulders and pull him up. He put his hands on Tommy's cheeks, rubbing his thumbs gently along the scruff, staring into his eyes as his own reddened with tears. He leaned in, pressing his lips gently to Tommy's before deepening the kiss, moving his arms to wrap around Tommy's neck.
After a few seconds, Tommy pulled away slightly, resting his forehead against Buck's. “Is that a yes?” he asked breathlessly.
Buck nodded, sniffling. “Yes,” he said through shaky laughter. “Always, yes.”
They didn't hear the sounds of everyone clapping and cheering as Tommy let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding, “Oh, thank God,” he said, his face scrunching up into a smile. “That could've been really embarrassing.”
Eddie cupped his hands over his mouth. “Put the ring on,” he called out, earning him a smack to the gut from Hen.
Buck laughed. He gave Tommy the ring, who then slid it on his finger. “I've got you one at home,” Buck admitted, using his other hand to wipe tears from his face.
Tommy was taken aback. “You do?”
“Mhm. Bottom drawer of the nightstand, my side of the bed. It says 'True love lasts a lifetime.'”
"I love you so much," Tommy said as he leaned in for another kiss.
"Love you more."
“Can we hug you guys yet?” Karen asked, bouncing slightly with impatience.
They laughed, letting go of one another to get hugs from their family.
When Buck got to Bobby, Bobby held onto him tightly. “I'm so happy for you, kid,” he said quietly, just loud enough for them to hear. “So, unbelievably happy.”
“Thank you, Bobby.” Once they let each other go, Buck asked, "You knew from the beginning, didn't you?”
Bobby nodded. “The second you walked into the hospital room with soot all over your face, I knew we'd end up here,” he said, giving them both a laugh. “You had the biggest smile I think I'd ever seen, and so did he,” Bobby pointed over to Tommy, who was laughing with Hen and Karen. “You're good for each other, Buck.”
Buck had to give Bobby another hug, tears filling his eyes once again. “I love you, Bobby.”
“Love you too, kid. Now, go,” he said, patting Buck's back, “be with your fiancé.”
They all headed to a 24 hour diner after all the congratulations had died down. Eddie immediately started on best man duties for Buck.
“You don't even have to ask. I already have a week's worth of bachelor's parties planned. We're starting with the 70's and working our way through each decade. I've got it all figured out.”
Tommy had already talked to Chimney a few days earlier, asking him to be his best man.
“You're getting beers and a movie marathon,” Chimney informed him.
Tommy breathed a sigh of relief. “I knew I chose correctly.”
After eating too many all-you-can-eat waffles and sharing desserts, everyone gave a final congratulations before heading home.
----------
Buck laid back on the bed, grabbing for Tommy's hand as he tried to catch his breath. He intertwined their hands and rested them on top of his chest, feeling his heart pound as he used his other hand to fiddle with the ring that now had a place on Tommy's finger.
“We're engaged,” Buck sighed into the dimly lit room.
“Would've done it a lot sooner had I known the sex would be that good.” Tommy turned onto his side as Buck laughed. He splayed his right hand over Buck's stomach, stroking up and down gently, giving Buck goosebumps. He pressed a kiss to Buck's bicep. “Did you like your proposal?”
“Like it? God, Tommy, it was... it was perfect. How did you get us into the observatory? The zoo? The history museum?!”
“I know people,” he replied simply.
"Of course you do. And you actually did know about the treasure hunt from before? I don't remember ever telling you about it."
"You didn't. When I went to Eddie about my plan, he told me. Not about the whole murder thing though, so I would actually like more info on that sometime."
"Noted. I- I can't believe you got everyone in on it. They all spent their entire night doing that for me."
"Couldn't have pulled it off without them."
“That makes it even more special.” Buck moved them around until Tommy's head was resting on his chest and he was running his fingers through Tommy's hair, slowly massaging his scalp. “I do have one more question though.”
“Hmm?” Sleep was already starting to take over Tommy. He never lasted long with a scalp massage.
“What was the NDA thing we signed with Ravi?”
“Oh, he was supposed to just send your sister a message saying we were getting started, but he came up with that whole thing himself. Probably should've read the fine print on that.”
“Oh God. It's something he's gonna use against me at work, isn't it?”
Tommy tucked himself in even closer to Buck, his eyes fluttered shut. “Most likely.”
Buck groaned, but didn't let himself stay annoyed for long. That was a worry for another day. Another day where he would clearly state to Ravi that whatever he signed was signed under false pretenses and would never hold up in court!
For now though, he reached up to turn off the lamp before pulling the covers up over him and Tommy. “I love you,” he whispered, pressing a kiss to the top of Tommy's head.
“Love you more,” Tommy muttered back before they fell into a peaceful sleep.

Summary | Being a single mom with a complicated relationship with your ex-husband makes for an interesting summer after a school event and an unexpected errand puts you front and center with some eligible contenders for your attention.
Tumblr media
“Mommy, look! They have horsies!” Mia squeaks, pointing as Santiago holds her close so that she doesn’t tip over, mesmerized as a horse gallops by the big window. “Daddy, do you see the horsies?!”
“I do see them,” Santiago agrees, kissing the crown of her head affectionately. “We have to finish the tour, mini.”
Sister Catherine Francis stands next to you, the school administrator smiling at the sweet moment between father and daughter. Admittedly, the tour has been impressive. Beside the stables, there is an auditorium, a gym, a play area much larger than the one in her current school and the student to teacher ratio is much smaller than you thought.
“Mrs. Garcia, I know you have some reservations about our school as Mr. Garcia told us,” Sister Catherine begins, her Irish accent strong. “I assure you, Mia will have the very best of care here at St. Mary’s. The curriculum here is outstanding and our students go on to Ivy League universities and abroad.”
“Curriculum,” you repeat, seeing her nod, anticipating your response with a tight-lipped smile. You’ve been peppering her with questions the entire tour, ever since she had mentioned she was pleased that Santiago had reached out weeks prior, calling you by your former last name, ignoring that you had mentioned that you were divorced.
Your cell phone vibrates in your purse, mumbling an excuse to step away for a moment as Sister Catherine approaches Santiago and Mia to discuss the details of the stables, asking Mia if she would like to know the names of all the horses.
“Hello?”
“Hey, sorry if I caught you had a bad time,” Tyler apologizes, your mood improving at the sound of his voice.
You’re grateful for the reprieve, even more so that he’s called you directly.
Santiago looks over his shoulder as you turn around, your back to him. He’s far away enough that you hope he can’t hear you.
“No, it’s fine, I’m just out with Mia,” you answer. “How are you?”
“I’m good. How are you?”
“I’m good.”
After a pause, Tyler laughs, the sound making you smile.
“Listen, I’m being a total idiot about this and I’m sorry. How would you feel if I picked the place to go to dinner? I promise you’ll have a good time.”
“I think that would be fine. Should I be worried?” you ask.
“No? I mean, I hope not. How does Saturday sound? Seven?”
“Seven works,” you agree, taking two steps away from Sister Catherine. “Enough time to find a sitter.”
“Seven it is. We can meet there if that works?”
“Sure. I’ll see you at seven.”
“Perfect. It’s a date. I’ll talk to you later.”
“Bye.”
When you hang up, you notice that Santiago is closer now, Mia still in his arms as he looks through his phone for a moment. Sister Catherine clears her throat at the interruption, making you look up from your phone.
“Did you have questions regarding any of our curricula?”
You hope that doesn’t mean to be pushy, but it sounds that way, the nun clasping her hands in front of her, waiting for your answer.
“Mia is five. She’s in kindergarten and doing well,” you counter, trying to keep the irritation out of your voice. “College is a few years away.”
“She’s a very intelligent young lady. We would nurture her intuitive nature, develop her into a strong young woman who would be readily accepted at any university of her choosing. You must start now, in her formidable years, to make sure she is strong.”
“She’s already strong.”
Mia runs over to you when her father puts her down, clinging to your legs as she bends her head back, looking into your eyes.
“I like it, Mommy!” Mia announces.
“You like what, sweetheart?” you ask carefully, Mia raising up her arms for you to pick her up.
She settles into your arms, leaning over to whisper in your ear.
“I like the horsies.”
“They’re nice, aren’t they?” you ask, her head bumping against your cheek as she nods quickly.
“I want one, Mommy. Can I have one?”
“Horses are expensive, baby,” you tell her gently, Santiago standing close by to smooth down her hair.
“We can talk about it over lunch, hmm? How does that sound?” he asks, giving you a cool smile before he turns to the nun. “Sister Catherine, I cannot tell you how much we appreciate the hospitality and the graciousness you’ve shown me and my family.”
“It is my pleasure, Mr. Garcia.”
“We haven’t made a decision,” Santiago says carefully, looking in your direction as you hold Mia close. “But I’m sure either way, we’ll be in touch.”
“Of course. It was nice meeting you, Mia,” Sister Catherine says, Mia leaning over you to shake her hand.
“Bye!” Mia chirps as you force a smile, knowing that this isn’t the right time to say any of the thoughts that have filled your head.
“Thank you,” you reply to her, the nun nodding with a gracious expression.
“Of course, Mrs. Garcia.”
🌙
Mia chews on a piece of chicken, cut up expertly by her father as she colors on the paper placemat.
Santiago leans back in his chair, sipping his glass of wine, silent as he glances from his daughter to you. As much as your irritation has grown, you know better than to argue in front of Mia. You’re also aware of the stare that he’s giving you, like he has more to say than he is letting on.
“I’m sorry for the surprise,” Santiago murmurs, placing his glass back down on the table. “I should have told you.”
“Yes, you should have,” you answer back quietly, Mia still coloring, playing you no mind. “I know you want what is best for our daughter, but I wish you would understand that this would be a big change for her.”
“Of course it would. No more cafeteria food, no overcrowded classrooms, more attention on our precious daughter. I fail to see the flaws in St. Mary’s.”
“She knows no one there. She’s made friends, she has her own little social calendar now. She’s happy.”
“I’m happy,” Mia recites with a giggle, drawing a squiggly line in purple crayon.
“She’s five,” Santiago recites back to you. “Young enough to make new friends, build new relationships and settle into a new school.”
The server interrupts with the next course, lingering a little longer to ask Santiago if he would like something else, her arm draped over the chair. You pay her no mind, knowing that he won’t let this particular subject go, no matter what distraction there may be in his way.
“I think we’re fine for now, thank you,” he declares with an air of annoyance through a tight flash of teeth.
“I’ll be nearby if you need anything,” she says, moving away from him.
Still within earshot, Santiago’s eyes level with yours, looking down at his plate and then to Mia, who has switched to a green crayon, drawing what looks like two boxes on top of each other.
“A frog,” Mia announces to her parents, coloring diligently.
Before you have a chance to argue, his gaze settles on the server who is still close by, turning back to you with a disapproving stare before he finally speaks.
“Mira a Mia, nos tiene a nosotros igual con el mundo a su alcance.”
He raises an eyebrow after, his words settling as you frown, Mia’s head snapping up at attention.
“¿Que... mundo?” she asks her father, looking at him suspiciously, your eyes rolling as Santiago smirks, lifting her out of her chair and onto his lap.
“I forgot how smart you are, mini,” Santiago murmurs against her, moving his wine glass away from her as she reaches for it. “That’s not juice. Let’s get you your own drink.”
The nickname isn’t lost on you, Mia leaning against her father, rubbing her eyes. Mini, meaning a mini version of you, something he’s called her since before she could talk.
When the server finally moves away, Mia slips off of her father’s lap, running to you as she moves from side to side.
“I gotta potty,” she announces loudly, your finger going to your lips to remind her to lower her voice as she takes off running.
Independent as you know her to be, you also know she’s fast, following behind her. You know she has no idea where she’s going, mumbling out an apology to the tables that she passes, narrowly missing a server with a tray over their head.
She stops in her tracks, pointing as you reach her, following her direction.
“It’s Abel!”
True to her word, Abel is sitting across a table in a booth with a well-dressed woman, who you assume is Abel’s mother. She doesn’t fit the description of Abel’s mother, someone whose name Melanie has dragged through the proverbial mud. This woman, in her black pantsuit and perfectly coiffed hair doesn’t look like she would be an absent mother, especially the way she talks to him.
It is Melanie after all, you think, herding Mia toward the restroom. She’s not exactly known for liking many people, let alone someone who is that close to Jax.
“I wanna say hi,” Mia protests, looking over her shoulder before the door closes. “Mommy, let’s say hi to Abel.”
“After you go to the restroom, I promise we will go say hello to Abel and after you wash your hands.”
“And we sing the ABCs!” Mia reminds you, running into a stall and locking it.
It feels silly to think about Jax, especially with how the day has played out. Santiago’s surprise tour to St. Mary’s and your upcoming date with Tyler. Your plate is full and you haven’t even told Santiago about your date.
If you even want to. You don’t even want to know how many dates he’s been on. Not that he’ll ever tell you and you’ve never been bold enough to ask. A flicker of irritation moves through you when you remember Abel’s sweet little face, dejected after being dropped off without a gift. You know that it didn’t matter that he didn’t have a gift but children mimic their parents and their societal standards.
“I’m done!” Mia says, after stopping the multiple flushes once you remind her to not play in the bathroom.
Dutifully she recites her alphabet when she washes her hands, the suds flying around the sink while you prepare the paper towels for her to dry her hands like a servant.
“Can we say hi now?”
“Yes,” you agree, Mia bolting out the door.
You stop in your tracks when Mia greets Jax loudly, seeing him sit across from the well-dressed woman. He’s traded his well-worn kutte for a button down shirt and black slacks, his hair slicked back, unaware that you’re close by when he scans the restaurant for any sign of you.
“Mommy!” Mia says, waving to you. “She’s right there.”
You tug your dress down when you walk toward them, Abel giving you a shy smile, Jax giving you a slow smile.
“Didn’t expect to see you here,” Jax says with a smile. “Mother daughter lunch date?”
“You could say that,” you respond, Mia eyeing the paper placemat that Abel is working on.
“You have to color the boxes,” Mia orders, your arm going around her to remind her of her manners gently.
“Abel can color them later,” you tell her softly, Mia shrugging as Abel starts to color in the boxes.
The woman smiles and you feel a sense of intruding on their time, quickly giving them a nod before slowly turning Mia back toward the direction of where you are sitting.
It’s family time, you predict, Jax giving you a curious look as you make a move to give them some space.
“Leaving so soon?”
“I wouldn’t want to impede on your family time,” you tell him. “Good to see you and Abel and nice to meet you…”
“Nice to meet you too,” the woman says with a grin, Jax raising an eyebrow before you march Mia back to the table.
🌙
“Busy schedule?” Santiago asks, seeing you fire off a text to one of the moms in the group text over a snack rotation schedule mix up. The drive back as been quiet thus far, ever since you’d gone back to the table and he had already paid, holding Mia’s tiny purse that she had insisted on taking everywhere.
“Just ironing out some details.”
Mia is fast asleep in the backseat, Santiago licking his lower lip in thought.
“If you need a sitter on Saturday, I’m sure I can have my mother watch Mia.”
“Are my conversations not private anymore?” you question, seeing a smirk play at his mouth.
“Big hallway,” he responds. “Your voice carries. And you didn’t answer my question. Do you want my mother to watch Mia?”
“I’d prefer to think about my options and for you to not eavesdrop on my conversations.”
“I told you. Your voice carries.”
You shift in your seat. It’s uncomfortable to know that he heard what you were saying, even more unnerving is that you feel guilty.
“Or you were listening. I don’t ask you about your personal life.”
“No,” he agrees with a shake of his head. “I’d answer anything you’d want to know. You know that.”
You sit in silence for a moment, your street coming into view.
“You want to date, I say go for it,” Santiago continues. “Would it make me a little jealous to know you’re scouting out potential men to find a partner? I’m human, aren’t I? I’d be lying if I told you I don’t think about how I should have put another baby in you. Those sounds you make for me, conejita… I crave them and no one can ever recreate it, nor have they come close.”
You try to move when he places his hand on your bare thigh, his hand warm as he slides it up toward your dress.
“So you’ve tried,” you shoot back, hating that you can already feel yourself reacting to him.
“Does it matter?”
“When you’re trying to surprise me with a quick decision on a private school that I was not given a chance to even think about? No,” you answer, placing your hand on his. “I’m still upset with you.”
“I didn’t say she had to go. It needs to be a decision from the both of us. I’m asking you to keep an open mind.”
“I will once I can keep a clear mind.”
Santiago smiles, a text popping up on his screen. Another woman, your eyes looking at the notification.
“Guess your calendar is packed too,” you shoot back, getting out of the car when he parks. “Not making a decision on the school yet. But we aren’t sleeping together.”
Santiago laughs, shaking his head in disbelief when he gets out the car to take Mia out of her seat.
“My flight leaves in two hours so I’ll put her to bed and you can take your time with your decision,” he informs you.
🌙
Settling Mia into her bed, he heads downstairs, finding no sign of you. Your phone is on the counter, a notification popping up as he hovers over it.
It’s a single name, one that he raises an eyebrow at.
Jax.
Even more curious is what he reads as he hears you come back down the stairs.
Not my wife. She’s my lawyer.
🌙
It’s daunting, fingers wrapped around the wood, breathing harder than you ever thought. You’re aware that your last movement was less than graceful, afraid to step over the line, your hips moving to try to get into the right position.
“Do you want some help?” Tyler asks, the burr of his voice sending a tingle down your spine.
“Yes, please,” you answer, his warm fingers on your elbow, flexing your arm back and forth slowly.
The sweet smell of sawdust gives you the urge to sneeze, the loud clink of beer glasses when someone hits a target and the raucous roar when someone doesn’t hit their mark gives you a sense of ease. There’s no need for perfection or expertise.
He’d met you at the door, your shyness on display when he held the door open for you. It wasn’t your first choice for a date, but your only comparison was the upscale restaurants that Santiago would take you to. Either way, you’re excited to try something new, the ax hard to throw but the adrenaline rush when you throw it is entertaining.
“It’s a flick of the wrist,” he instructs, standing behind you, his body a solid wall of muscle when you take a step back accidentally, trying to make sure you don’t disqualify yourself.
“It’s a quick throw but you’ve got to move with purpose, focus on where you want it to go. Ready?”
When you throw it, the ax sails through the air, hitting the top of the target. Not that it matters, you finally got it to stick, celebrating that you were able to hit something, rather than have it bounce off the wall.
As a first date, you’re still glancing at your phone as Laurie sends you pictures of Mia, feeling guilty for all of five seconds when you realize that he’s probably done the same. You feel oddly comfortable in a flannel shirt and jeans and a pair of sneakers for a first date. You’d gone through your closet while Laurie had come over to watch Mia, with it being Andy’s week with Jacob and she was more than happy to watch her as Santiago’s mother had last minute plans.
As a rule, you don’t engage with any questions she has, especially since she’s always hinted that you had made a mistake with your decision to separate and then divorce.
It was a good thing they were your decisions.
Your decision now is to try to not focus on how handsome Tyler looks when he focuses on the target, hitting the target each time. You’re aware of his politeness, the way he doesn’t get into the personal side of your history with your ex, keeping it light with Mia and Hunter and to your interests.
For the first time in a long time, you talk about yourself and your hopes and dreams.
And Tyler listens.
You don’t want to compare, nor do you want to put either of them on a pedestal but there’s something about the way he lets what you say sink in, nodding slowly and taking the social cue of when he can share his own thoughts and ideas. There is no fighting for dominance in a conversation, something that you aren’t used to.
“What?” he asks you after taking a sip of his beer.
“Nothing,” you answer quickly, realizing that you’ve been staring at his tattooed arms and how he smiles.
It isn’t the time to admit that you’ve been appreciating his physical form as well as feeling seen and heard.
“Ax throwing is harder than I thought,” you admit, stretching out your fingers.
“Does it hurt?” Tyler asks, reaching out his hand to you, placing your hand in his. “Sometimes you can get a splinter.”
He examines your hand, his fingers running along your fingers and palm, closing your hand into a fist and then unraveling it to hook your fingers over his, his lips brushing against your knuckles. At the contact, your face heats up at how gentle he is with you.
“Not a scratch or splinter from what I can see,” he says with a nod, looking into your eyes. “I’d say that’s a win.”
-
“I thought about leaving. Taking Hunter with me, moving to a new city and just starting over,” Tyler tells you while you walk along the pier. “It made sense to me, you know? Clean slate, we didn’t have to look back. Then he entered kindergarten and I watched him come out of his shell that I thought he would never break out of and I knew that I couldn’t do that to him.”
“What about private school?” you ask, seeing him shrug off his jacket as he slows his steps, placing it over your shoulders. You’re instantly warm, smelling the faint cologne left on his jacket. “Thank you.”
“I thought about it,” he replies, continuing to walk beside you. “I moved a lot as a kid, went to few private schools here and there but I never like I fit in. Didn’t think Hunter would either. Why do you ask?”
“I thought about St. Mary’s but…” you trail off, focusing on the waves that crash against the shore in the moonlight. “I think she’d miss her friends.”
“They’d miss her.”
“I don’t know,” you sigh. “I want to make sure she’s well adjusted. I want to make sure that she’s happy and healthy. She’s made so many friends and I hope that I make the right decision for her.”
“Have you ever felt like you haven’t?”
Shaking your head, he nods in agreement.
“Then you’re making the right decision.”
“I feel like I could be better.”
“Oh?” he questions. “How so?”
“There’s always room for improvement.”
“Even now?”
His curious expression makes you stop, looking into his blue eyes for a moment. There’s a vulnerability there, a softness that sends a slight flutter to your stomach.
“No,” you answer. “I can’t think of any improvements on tonight.”
“I disagree,” Tyler responds, pulling his jacket that is around your shoulders closer to keep you warm, pulling you toward him slowly. “I can think of something.”
He lowers his head to kiss you and you meet him halfway, his lips on yours, soft and warm. You don’t want it to end, even if you know at any time you’ll both pull away.
His cell phone vibrates loudly in the pocket, your soft groan barely audible when you break the kiss.
“Did you want to get that?” you whisper, Tyler kissing you again before you can ask him again.
“It’s the sitter. I think I owe her some overtime.”
“Oh, God, I’m sorry,” you apologize, Tyler holding you close by holding onto his jacket.
“Worth it.”
🌙
“You kissed him?” Laurie whispers, eyes wide as she perches on the couch. “Shut up, you did not.”
“I did,” you confess, covering your face. “On the first date? Is that even allowed?”
“Of course it is! I fucked my first college boyfriend on the first date. This is tame. Tongue or no tongue.”
“Laurie!” you hiss, breaking out into a fit of laughter. “This is absurd. I can’t believe I’m talking about this. It was one date.”
“One date where you went ax throwing with a giant. Not just any giant, by the way. Tyler Rake. The man is an enigma. I can’t tell if he hates the PTA or genuinely enjoys it.”
“I didn’t ask,” you say dryly, Laurie finishing the last of her wine. Your phone vibrates next to you, a message popping up that you check quickly before she notices.
Happy you made it home safe. Thank you for a great night.
“So… was he a good kisser?” Laurie questions.
“Do you ask this of everyone?”
“No,” Laurie replies honestly. “I’m asking because you’re my friend and I don’t have many of those because most people annoy me. You went on a date. That’s a start. How do you feel?”
“Weird.”
You don’t know how to explain it. It feels like you’re keeping a secret, even if it isn’t one. You’re a single woman, even if you don’t feel like it sometimes. Santiago is gone, jetted off to Spain for a trip. Probably with one of his companions, something you won’t ever ask about, even if he says he’s an open book.
It’s complicated in a way that it doesn’t need to be and you know it.
Laurie is right. This is a start of something. Maybe not anything that you know but enough to make you begin thinking that you deserve to be selfish for a moment, to think about what you want.
Whatever that may be.
“It’s okay to play the field you know,” Laurie says, getting up from her seat, picking up her wine glass to take to the sink. “It’s not a bad thing to make sure your bases are loaded.”
-
When you check on Mia, she’s fast asleep, buried under the covers with her favorite teddy bear at her side. Next week will be Santiago’s week and the pangs of longing already begin, even though she’s right next to you when you sit carefully on her bed.
Two more weeks of school and then she’s done for the summer, your baby girl going full speed ahead into the first grade once the summer is over, something you aren’t ready to comprehend, let alone even want to think about.
“I’m proud of you,” you whisper, smoothing back her hair as she snuggles against her pillow. “I love you.”
Getting up to leave her room, you scroll through your missed messages, noticing one from an unknown number.
BBQ next Saturday. Adults only – Alcohol is provided. See you there?
You’ve seen the number before, scrolling through your phone to find a message where the number pops up again from a message confirming attendance at a school function.
Andy Barber.

By popular demand, here are the humanised Ducktales characters I teased several weeks ago — it’s April, May, and June!
May and June do take design and personality inspiration from their canon equivalents, but these three are not the same characters. They have nothing to do with FOWL, and are Daisy’s almost adult nieces! They’ve been under her care since they were very young, and she’s always been more of a mother than an aunt to them.
April — The eldest triplet, April is athletic, energetic, and a massive tomboy. She cares deeply for her Aunt and sisters, and wants to help them in every way she can! She hopes to become a professional footballer, and use the money to support her family - she likes the idea of being their provider. She and her siblings have just graduated high school, and once the summers over she starts work as a coach at her old school. She might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but she has a big heart, and next year, she’s off to college on a sports scholarship.
May — Organised, strict, and always a little bit stressed, May is by far the most suspicious of the new guy her beloved Auntie is dating. She handles most of the family finances and keeps them on track, and sees it as her duty to keep them safe. She doesn’t trust Donald with a five foot pole, believing him an incompetent manchild who’ll just drag Daisy down to take care of him instead of focusing on her dream job. Deep down, May harbours a deep seated guilt for the sacrifices her Aunt made for her and her sisters. In her mind, being sacked with three young girls kept Daisy from accomplishing her real dreams, and now that she’s older, May is determined to give her Aunt everything she rightfully deserves. Seeing Donald and his three young children, May is convinced history will repeat itself, and she’ hate to let that happen – not when Daisy deserves so much more! Unbeknownst to her, Daisy adores her nieces more than anything in the world, and thinks them coming into her life is the best thing that ever happened to her. Sacrifices or not, Daisy wouldn’t trade her girls for the world. If only May would stop worrying and realise that.
June — Though she might seem scary at a glance, June is actually the biggest sweetheart you’ll ever meet. Soft spoken and shy, June has a strong moral compass and a burning hatred for any and all injustice. She uses punk and emo fashions not only as a shield to make herself look intimidating, but because of the historical ties to rebellion and anti-conservative ideals. She spends most of her time organising and attending human rights rallies, and campaigning to help those in need. She might struggle to speak to the mailman, but she never feels more confident than when she’s marching with her peers in support of the greater good. But the one thing she cares about most of all is her family, and she dedicates a good portion of her efforts to her local community, in hopes of making things easier and more fair for them all.

Anyway, as always, if you see any typos, no you didn't :^)
-------
Hawkins, Indiana, 1974
Steve looks the same, but his organs are new, he's a tiny bit taller, and he's having the same growing pains as his father. He stretches his fingers, wiggles his ears, and feels his liver chugging along like never before. He's doing better than his father, though; he's not too caught up in the taste of a new pancreas, at least.
He is, however, subject to scolding from his mother.
"I can't believe you!" Rose shouts, pacing in front of the console before coming to a stop. "Are you thick? You could've been seriously hurt!"
"Oh, I don't think that's very fair," the Doctor says, pushing his hair out of his face, something he's never been able to do before. "He's a teeny-weeny Time Lord, Rose. He regenerates just as good as me. Well, better even."
"That's not the point, Doctor! You've only got so many lives before you run out. Don't let Steve join you for the beginning of each one."
"Well, maybe we should remember how we got here in the first place," the Doctor says, "Someone thought, 'Oh, I'll just take a little peek-a-boo into the time vortex,' for the fun of it!"
After listening to them argue for a few more minutes, Steve slowly gets up and quietly makes his way over to the console. He places his hand on a dial, holding still but feeling it turn under his palm. "Take us somewhere safe," he whispers, glancing to where his parents are holding a staring contest that could end in them kissing or shouting.
Steve feels the TARDIS hum around him, agreeing with his suggestion, and the engine kicks to life. "What?" the Doctor asks, looking around before spotting Steve at the console. "Hold on a minute, who said you could send us anywhere?"
"I didn't turn anything," Steve says, innocently looking up at his parents. "Maybe the TARDIS got tired of your arguing, too."
As though agreeing with him, the TARDIS makes a particularly loud whoosh as it jerks and nearly sends Rose off her feet. The Doctor catches her easily, an arm around her waist, but stumbles himself. "Oh, blast, this body is scrawny," he says, clenching his jaw as he grips the console to keep himself upright.
"I'll say. You're likely to stab me with an elbow there," Rose replies, her voice more amused than anything else, and Steve quickly looks away before he's subjected to the gross goo-goo eyes his parents start making at each other.
When the TARDIS finally comes to a stop, Steve barely waits before rushing to the doors. He hears his parents shout after him, but he throws one of the doors open without a second thought, an excited grin forming when he sees familiar trees and a familiar playground. It's been a few months for him, long enough to be an entirely new person, but he has no clue how long it's been for Eddie.
Maybe only a day has passed. Maybe a week. Maybe fifteen years. Well, he doubts it's been fifteen years. The playground doesn't look like fifteen years have passed. Either way, he looks over his shoulder at his parents. "I'm gonna go play now!" he says, letting the door slam behind him as he runs out.
He's only more excited when he immediately finds Eddie. It's odd, because most humans just look alike to him, other than his mother, of course. They're all kind of shaped the same and none of them feel like time and space; they're boring, completely untouched by and unaware of the greater universe beyond the molecules of stardust that formed them.
But Eddie is different. Eddie's hair holds red space and his fingers scatter time when he moves. Eddie's words drip with galactic dust and meteoric currents. His eyes are the brown of T'Lochlor royal jewels and contain the sparks of planetary births. His smile curls with the essence of alternate dimensions and black hole gates.
Steve tried explaining it to the TARDIS once, figuring she was the most likely to know what's so different about Eddie. The only thing she'd been able to tell him is that, somewhere in the future, Eddie would be destined for tragedy and stars. She wouldn't say (or simply didn't know) what order they would be in, but Steve decided to focus on the stars.
He rushes over, his smile wide as he gets closer to where Eddie is sitting on a bench, watching the playground with a slight pout and a cast on his right leg. "Eddie!" he shouts, practically tackling the boy in a hug when he's close enough.
"Stevie?!"
Steve pulls away, hopping onto the bench and settling next to Eddie. "Yep! Hi."
"Dude, it's been so long!"
"Oh," Steve says, frowning slightly as he looks Eddie up and down. They still seem to look the same age. "How long?"
"Like three years. Where were you?!"
"Uh, traveling. My parents go all over the place," Steve explains, figuring it's not exactly a lie. "Anyway, what happened to your leg?"
Eddie blinks, looking down at his cast before pouting again. "I broke it in P.E. cuz the coach made me play soccer," he says.
Steve doesn't quite know what P.E. is. Or soccer. But he gets the main point: Eddie can't play because his leg is still healing. "How come you're still here then?" he asks.
"Better than being home."
There's something weird about Eddie's words, but Steve doesn't ask him about it. His mother has told him that, sometimes, you just shouldn't pry into people's home life. Even if you care, it could make them angry or upset. They'll share when they're ready.
"Oh," he says, moving closer to Eddie on the bench until their shoulders are touching.
"Tell me something cool," Eddie says. "Where did you and your parents go?"
Steve thinks for a moment. He already told Eddie about being an alien, but is he allowed to talk about the time travel stuff? Is that too impossible to believe? Maybe he'll just ease Eddie into it. "Uh, we went a lot of places," he says, swinging his legs, "Oh, like this city where they have a super big hospital and the doctors are all cat-people."
"Why'd you go there?" Eddie asks.
"I died, kind of, and Mom wanted to make sure I was okay, even though Dad promised her I was. And Dad died, too, but he's done it a few times, so he's better at it than I am. Anyway, Mom was going crazy with worry, so Dad brought us there to get me checked out. Clean bill of health, according to the doctor."
Eddie stares at him for a while. "You died?" he finally asks, his voice sounding a little strained.
"Yeah, but not really. I mean, my people regenerate instead of die. So, like, my current body can't survive, so I pull on time and space to make myself a new one, one that can live as long as I need it to."
"Oh, right, cool, that's not confusing," Eddie says, huffing as he glances away. He swings his legs a few times before asking, "What happened?"
"Mom looked into the TARDIS's heart, absorbed the time vortex and became Bad Wolf to save us. If she stayed like that, she would've burned up from the inside out, so Dad kissed her to draw the time vortex out. He started to regenerate, but the backlash of it was destroying the TARDIS. We would've crashed otherwise, so I absorbed some of his regeneration energy, and that burned all of my cells up, so I had to regenerate, too. Mine was a bit gentler than Dad's, though, so it didn't cause much damage."
"I feel...even more confused."
Steve smiles at him, holding out his hand. After a few seconds, Eddie takes it, and Steve squeezes once. "That's okay. Alien biology is weird. Like, I think it's weird that you've got an appendix. You don't even need it anymore."
"What did we need it for before?"
"Something digestive, I think," Steve says, waving his free hand dismissively, "Dad knows more about that stuff than I do."
Eddie nods, looks down at their hands, and then looks at the playground. "Your parents sound...really great, Stevie," he says.
There's something in Eddie's voice that makes Steve hesitate. He bites the inside of his cheek, hesitates for a moment, and then scooches a little closer. Maybe telling Eddie about the time travel thing will make him smile again; maybe it will take that weird hurt in his eyes away for just a few minutes. "You wanna see something cool?" he asks.
"Sure," Eddie mumbles, looking over as Steve reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a phone from 2046. It looks totally clear, but the glass panel on the back is frosted, keeping people from seeing what's on his screen.
"What kind of music do you like?" Steve asks.
"Usually whatever my mom listens to," Eddie says, shrugging as he watches Steve tap on the glass in his hand. He jerks when the screen lights up, showing a bunch of tiny squares across it. "What's that?"
"A phone."
"Uh, nope, no way, phones are, like, attached to walls and stuff. They plug in. They're, you know, bigger, and stuff. And they aren't made of glass."
"It's, uh, a future phone. From the future. Many, many years in the future."
Eddie snorts, bumping their shoulders together. "Time travel isn't real, Stevie."
"I'm an alien. I just told you about a city with cat-people doctors. Time travel is the unbelievable part?" Steve asks.
They stare at each other for a few minutes, Steve waiting patiently as he watches disbelief fade into realization in Eddie's eyes. "Holy shit," Eddie whispers, his eyes getting wider as he looks down at the phone. "Where's your time machine?"
"Across the street. That blue box over there. My parents are inside."
"How did I miss that?"
"It's got a perception filter," Steve says, repeating his father's words easily. "So people's eyes just...slide over it."
Eddie slowly nods and looks back at Steve's phone. "I, um, my mom likes David Bowie."
Steve nods and looks up David Bowie music videos.
----------
Despite thinking Steve might hang around this time, that he might not disappear from Eddie's life like last time, that's exactly what he does.
He introduces Eddie to music that won't exist for decades, to bands like Green Day and Lovejoy and some singer from another planet called Ln'ra. Their voice makes Eddie's brain prickle between his ears, his heart lurching in his chest with the desire to sing the way they do.
Steve holds Eddie's hand the entire time, a gentle breeze passing over them, their heads leaning against each other. Music plays surprisingly clear from the piece of glass Steve insists is a phone. Time seems to slow down for a brief while, and Eddie forgets all about the world for a while.
He forgets about his mom crying. He forgets about his dad shouting. He forgets about the dull ache in his leg as the bone mends itself. He forgets about everything, and it's the most peaceful and relaxed he's felt for months.
And then the sun is setting, dipping beneath the trees and splashing the sky with oranges and pinks and reds. Steve sighs when he sees the colors, lets the music video play to the end, and then turns of his phone and slips it into his pocket.
"I've gotta go," he says, standing up from the bench but still holding Eddie's hand.
Eddie doesn't fight it, even though he wants to, because something tells him Steve can't stay. Something deep in his mind tells him that he won't. Not yet, at least. Because Eddie is sure, at some point, Steve is going to stay.
Or Eddie will stay, because he's technically walking away, too, right? He's not exactly begging to follow Steve wherever he goes, because he can't. He has a mom, a dad, an uncle, guitar lullabies at night and surprisingly good waffles in the morning, some friends at school and a group project that needs turning in.
So, neither of them can stay. Not right now, at least. But maybe next time. Eddie hopes---as he watches Steve push open the door of that weird blue box and wave one last time before going in---that one of them will get to stay sometime soon.

I rly like JEL but noticed last update you made Eris a top for a minute. up until now he's been a bottom. I think the fandom is more willing to accept Azris as a ship with bottom Eris and Az as top. its probably why your story is so popular and has lots of hits. I wouldn't be surprised if your subscribe numbers and readers go down now. I am going to still read, bc I love your writing style and the story is good, but I just wanted to let you know since its your first fan fic. I rly like JEL, its one of my fave Azris stories. just a heads up, not trying to offend.
Hey anon,
I appreciate your kind words re: my writing style and story. I do hope my story has a *little* more to offer readers than the two or three instances where Eris bottoms. As for that, I've been letting the characters tell me what they want, both with bottom/top roles and power dynamics. So, while Eris was a bottom in those instances, he has also been pretty dominant in many moments, just to show that bottoms aren't always submissive, if that makes sense? I've been exploring what a vers might look like, on several different levels. Yes, in this last chapter, Eris topped, in a pretty brief description of a memory.
That said, I'm only human, so of course I'll be sad to see people click away from my story, especially over Eris having a little top action, but readers can make choices about what stories they read, just like writers are allowed to make choices about the stories we write.
I hope you'll stick around, but for anyone who chooses not to, that's ok too. Just a warning that next week, there will be smut. It's been written for months. I'm not changing it. Also be warned that several chapters later, there will be more smut. And it will be the opposite of next week, lol. That's already been written too...
Yours in Azris,
Jules

The Magic of Makeup
(Kyoshi x Rangi)
(A/N: EVERYONE PLS THERE IS A SMUT SCENE HERE! WE GET PORN WITH PLOT SO LIKE AVERT YOUR EYES IF THATS NOT YOUR THING!!!!! Also don't judge me cause IDK how diplomacy or nobility stuff works I'm here for drama. Anywho I already made a couple posts about this but I thought it was so funny that I decided to make a whole fic. The ao3 link will be posted right after this for those who prefer it. Anywho, pls enjoy!)
Kyoshi was jolted awake by Jinpa roughly shaking her entire body. The Avatar immediately sat up and grabbed her fans placed right beside her bed.
“Who’s dying?!” Kyoshi exclaimed as she jumped out of bed.
“No one, but the Fire Nation nobility are here! Like, they are waiting in front of the gates as we speak!” Jinpa hissed.
“What do you mean they’re already here?! They were supposed to arrive at lunch!” Kyoshi yelled.
“That’s what I was told. I think this is some kind of power play. Just get dressed,” Jinpa insisted.
“Damn! Do you think I can get away with not wearing any of my usual makeup? There’s no way I’m going to have the time but I still need to look intimidating! It’s part of my whole shtick!” Kyoshi asked.
“You’re six and half feet tall, I think you can make it work. Now get changed, woman! We got people to argue with! I'll meet you there!” Jinpa said before rushing out the door.
Kyoshi cursed before springing out of bed to put on her usual business attire. Alright, the green outfit? Check. The headdress? Check. The fans? Check. Big ass gloves? Ah shit, they're not here. Whatever, it’s not that important. Well, that’s all Kyoshi has time for.
The Avatar quickly threw open the door to her bedroom and began speed walking down the hall. Kyoshi already hated leaving her room without makeup. Nowadays, putting on her makeup is step one of her morning routine. She can't remember the last time she handled Avatar business with a bare face. It made her feel vulnerable. Exposed. This meeting needs to end quickly.
As she was speed walking to the conference room where this meeting is to be held, Kyoshi spotted her girl briskly walking in halls. The Avatar couldn’t resist perking up at the sight of her girlfriend coming to meet her. Of course, Rangi had already been awake for an hour before the stupid nobles arrived. She’s always been an early riser.
“Did you have any clue they were coming in so early?” Rangi asked once they met up.
“No, Jinpa had to wake me. I had zero time to get ready,” Kyoshi sighed as the two fell into step with each other.
“I assume that’s why you’re not wearing any makeup,” Rangi very correctly guessed.
“Yeah, there’s just no way I could have made it happen,” the tall woman confirmed.
“I think that’s for the best, honestly. Being punctual should take priority in this scenario,” Rangi nodded.
Kyoshi felt a surge of pride course through her when Rangi approved of her plans. If only the world knew how weak the Avatar is for her girlfriend. She’d be killed within a week.
“Let’s get this over with. Hopefully the little bastards are more agreeable this time around,” Kyoshi sighed.
How Kyoshi despises the damn Fire Nation nobles sent into the damn peace agreement. Kyoshi’s had like five other meetings with them and has been unable to come to an agreement all parties are happy with.
The names of the three nobles that have been utterly torturing Kyoshi for weeks are Akira, Nao, and Chari. Akira does most of the talking, Nao and Chari are really just her yesmen. They're all simply unbearable. The three of them were around her age of twenty two, which is probably what makes them so insufferable. They’re young, spoiled, rich, think they know everything under the damn sun, and worst of all, they don’t have the good sense to fear her.
Anyone with half a brain should be terrified of Kyoshi! It’s like Jinpa said, she’s six feet and six inches tall! She towers over everyone she meets! Plus the makeup! Ghostly white face and bloody red eyes?? That’s the perfect recipe for fear! How can anyone not be terrified of her?
Maybe it’s wrong to feel so upset that some people aren’t scared of her, but Kyoshi can’t help it. People not having a healthy amount of fear when interacting with her makes her uneasy. If the literal Avatar can’t freak someone out, what can?
“Wait, one more thing before we go in there,” Rangi said as she stopped right outside the door of the meeting room.
“What? Did I forget something?” Kyoshi frowned.
“You did,” Rangi confirmed.
Kyoshi furrowed her brows and went back through her mental checklist involving her attire. Outside of the makeup and gloves, Kyoshi is pretty positive she had everything she needed.
Naturally, Rangi proved her wrong. The firebender cupped Kyoshi’s face in her hands and gave her a light kiss on the lips. At once, Kyoshi’s arms went to Rangi’s hips in order to deepen the delightful sensation. Sadly, Rangi pulled away.
“You’re going to do great. Stop worrying so much. That’s supposed to be my job,” Rangi smirked.
“Kay,” Kyoshi said. You know, like an idiot.
Rangi should never have kissed her right before such an important meeting. Now all Kyoshi can think about is the next opportunity for those lips to be back on her. Kyoshi is so in love with her it physically hurts.
Okay, time to get the love struck look off her face before facing the nobles. Kyoshi took in a deep breath before nodding to Rangi. With that, her loyal bodyguard opened the doors to where Jinpa and the nobles sat.
The Fire Nation nobles were muttering amongst themselves as they had during every single one of the past meetings. Typical. Kyoshi had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. However, once the three nobles looked at her, they immediately shut up. That was a surprise.
During the past meetings, even when Kyoshi made her presence known, the little trolls still blabbed on and acted as though she didn't even exist. They would only stop talking when Kyoshi started to speak. However, today she didn’t need to say a word before all eyes were on her. All of the nobles were looking at Kyoshi with shocked expressions, flushed faces, and one of them had their lips parted slightly open in what she can only assume is shock.
This is suspicious as fuck.
“Apologies, everyone. I hadn’t realized we would be meeting so soon. Please accept my tardiness,” Kyoshi said respectfully with a bow.
What she really wanted to say was ‘couldn’t you have given a girl a heads up before meeting me at the crack of dawn’ but that didn’t seem appropriate.
Akira then sprung up out of her seat to pull out a chair for Kyoshi to sit. Kyoshi quickly glanced at Rangi and Jinpa in wonder to see if she's seeing the same thing. Now why on Earth would Akira do that?
“Of course, we certainly didn’t mean to inconvenience such a beautiful woman as yourself. Please, allow me,” Akira said.
Rangi looked like she wanted to set Akira on fire. Kyoshi shared the sentiment. What is she playing at? Less than a minute in and it's rather obvious they are sucking up to her. Ultimately, Kyoshi did sit down on the seat Akira pulled out for her in the name of civility. But that doesn't mean Kyoshi had to like it.
“If you don’t mind me asking, where’s Avatar Kyoshi?” Nao asked.
Kyoshi shot Rangi and Jinpa yet another look. Are these idiots being serious right now?
“I didn’t realize I was so unrecognizable without my makeup,” was all Kyoshi said.
Granted, that is a lie, but she really didn't know what else to say that's a polite statement. Whenever Kyoshi goes into town with a bare face, many do not make the connection despite her rather noticeable height.
“What? You’re Avatar Kyoshi? Really?” Chari blurted out.
Oh, this is going to be a long meeting.
“Yes, I am,” Kyoshi nodded.
“I didn't realize you were hiding freckles under all that makeup. You wear them well,” Nao smiled.
Is Kyoshi drunk? Did somebody slip her something when she wasn't paying attention? What in all Four Nations is happening right now? They must want something from her if they're being this nice.
“I think we need to get started with this meeting,” Jinpa rushed out hastily. It was almost as if he was in a panic. Odd.
“Of course. Please, start us off. Your voice is quite soothing, Avatar Kyoshi,” Akira smiled, chin resting in the palm of her left hand.
Kyoshi actually thinks she’s experiencing whiplash right now. In past meetings, when the discussion gets opened up on a subject, the nobles immediately try arguing for their side. It takes ages for them to be willing to hear Kyoshi out. Something is so wrong here. It's best to ignore that compliment for now.
The more the negotiations progressed, the weirder everything got. The three nobles, mainly Akira, kept blatantly sucking up to her by praising everything she did. While it's true her reputation has improved as the Avatar the past couple years, it certainly wasn't enough to warrant this kind of reaction.
Even one of the people on her side was acting strange. Jinpa, who's usually a man of patience and serenity, seemed very antsy to move things along. He would often try to steer the conversation away from the nobles when their compliments became too excessive.
Rangi was the only one who was making sense right now. As per usual, she took her role as a bodyguard very seriously. She stood there, stoic as a statue, ready to defend Kyoshi should any dangers arise.
Kyoshi stole a quick glance at her girl to find her looking ever so slightly more irritated than usual. Who can blame her, honestly? Kyoshi wants this to be over just as much as Rangi does.
About one hour in and Kyoshi is bored out of her mind. She propped her chin on the palm of her left hand. It's really not proper etiquette and she might get scolded for it later, but Kyoshi is not at a point where she cares. She then felt an itch on her nose, so she used her right hand to scratch it.
Akira was speaking like she always did, but her voice died down when she took a good look at Kyoshi's hands. This woman literally could not get any more strange.
“Is something the matter, Lady Akira?" Kyoshi asked.
"Apologies, Avatar Kyoshi. I hope I did not offend you, I was simply caught off guard. You just have the most beautiful hands," Akira said earnestly.
Did Jinpa squeak? Huh.
Well, Kyoshi had to fight the urge to laugh. Man, they are really grasping at straws here. She must have run out of things to stroke Kyoshi's ego about. The Avatar is well aware of the state of her hands. Beauty is not on the list.
"Please, no need to fill my head with empty compliments," Kyoshi insisted.
"I assure you, my compliments are nothing but sincere. You have the most wonderful hands I've ever seen," Akira said seriously.
Huh, weird. It honestly did seem like the noblewoman was telling the truth. Maybe she is. It could very well be that she's borderline insane, but that's not really the topic here.
"I appreciate the sentiment, but my hands are pretty banged up with all the scars. Consequences of those battles, I suppose," Kyoshi awkwardly laughed in order to lighten the mood.
"The way I see it, the scars you adorn are a testament to your bravery and honor. Courageous is the most beautiful thing a person can be," Akira said. Her two noble goons nodded their agreement.
She had to admit, Kyoshi feels moved. It's no wonder Akira is the spokesman of the group. That is a noblewoman who really knows how to sweet talk a girl. She did wonder why Jinpa squeaked again, though.
Okay, Kyoshi needs to think this through. The odd behavior of the three nobles is a mystery Kyoshi has the desperate urge to crack. The compliments, the pleasantries, the agreeability, there has to be a reason why.
Seeing the three Fire Nation nobles stare at her scars with that look in their eyes made the answer hit Kyoshi like a boulder. Finally, the Avatar understood the out of character actions. Those three are absolutely terrified of her.
It all made perfect sense. Scars in general can look pretty scary. Not only does Kyoshi have a rather large amount of them, the implications of what she experienced also must be freaking out the nobles. The scars show that Kyoshi has lived through much more powerful and intimidating foes than the ones who sit before her. It's visual proof that Kyoshi is the strongest person in this room. And they're terrified of that.
It has to be why Akira made such a point to compliment them. She's well aware of the battles Kyoshi fought to gain her scars.
The makeup and gloves were hiding the scars which must be why the nobles haven't seemed scared of her until now. Turns out, Kyoshi just had her approach all wrong. They did not fear scary makeup or a tall stature, they fear scars and Kyoshi's true face.
Their behavior makes complete sense now.
It's probably wrong that Kyoshi is so excited that she finally found a way to scare these people. They have been grating on her nerves for weeks and she finally has the upper hand. The Avatar is in full control now.
Kyoshi is absolutely going to milk this.
"It feels as though we've been stuck in this room for ages. It's getting quite hot in here," Kyoshi lied.
With that, the Avatar rolled up her sleeves where even more scars decorated her arms. Kyoshi was even bold enough to undo her collar a touch to reveal the scar on her neck. She snapped open one of her fans and fluttered it to gently brush against the neck scar.
Her actions had the desired effect. All three nobles immediately began intensely studying Kyoshi's scars, especially the one on her neck. They were red, evidently nervous, and now incapable of looking her in the eye. They finally feel terrified by Kyoshi. This is a memory she will cherish for years to come.
Kyoshi saw Rangi in her peripheral vision sitting with crossed arms and a deep scowl. The Avatar felt as though she was beaming with pride. Of course Rangi caught onto the fact that Kyoshi is working on her intimidation tactic and is playing the role of scary bodyguard to add to it. Rangi is just so smart.
"Avatar Kyoshi! Would you like me to, uh, open up some windows? I had no idea you were feeling so hot," Jinpa nervously rushed out.
"Please do," Kyoshi smiled.
Jinpa nodded and hurriedly opened up a couple windows as Kyoshi put her fan back at her side. She did what she needed to do to strike fear in their hearts.
"I must say, Avatar Kyoshi, you wield your fans as though they're part of you. It's quite impressive. You have very skilled hands," Nao pointed out.
"Well, I'm sure you've heard of the other things my hands can do, haven't you?" Kyoshi asked with narrowed eyes.
If her reputation precedes her, then stories resembling her scuffle with Xu Ping An would have certainly reached the Fire Nation. She would make it very clear that compliments should not distract from how truly terrifying Kyoshi really is.
"I, well yes. Many have heard stories of your, um, abilities," Nao rushed out.
"Many stories indeed," Akira mumbled.
Chari just sat there looking like an imbecile. Kyoshi wasn't really expecting much else from the lump.
"Alright, I'm going to cut to the chase. What is it that you want from me?" Kyoshi asked in a low voice to add to her intimidation.
Obviously, for them to be this scared of her, she must also have some kind of leverage they need. Apparently, Kyoshi would have to wait to find out.
"Avatar Kyoshi, I insist upon a recess at once!" Jinpa practically shrieked while standing up.
Everyone in the room was visibly shocked at the monk's outburst except for Rangi. Kyoshi's never known the man to raise his voice in such a manner, especially not in a meeting like this one. Whatever had Jinpa so panicked must be important.
"Of course. You don't mind a small break, do you?" Kyoshi grinned, knowing damn well they won't say no to her.
"Please, take all the time you need. We'll wait as long as it takes," Akira managed to rush out.
Hah, the annoying noble still looks flustered. Kyoshi could not be happier. They finally fear her. It feels so good to win.
Kyoshi left the room, quickly followed by Rangi and Jinpa. Once the door closed behind them, Rangi grabbed Kyoshi's arm and pulled her to the left.
"Make sure we're not followed, Jinpa," was all Rangi muttered out.
"Y-yes of course," Jinpa hastily agreed.
"Rangi, what's-" Kyoshi started to say.
"One more word and I'm putting you into horse stance for so long your successor will feel it," Rangi hissed.
Okay, so clearly she's not happy. Kyoshi can't imagine why though. That meeting is going spectacularly. The nobles are significantly more cooperative, they actually listen to what Kyoshi has to say, and they're now willing to give into her demands. She can't understand what Rangi could possibly be so upset about.
Maybe Kyoshi didn't notice something during the discussions? Is it possible the Fire Nation nobles are playing her and Rangi is going to let her know? It's certainly not the first time Kyoshi has made a major blunder like that. There really wasn't much time to contemplate this because in less than a minute the two women apparently arrived at their destination.
The spot Rangi led her to was a tiny hallway that had a single window at the end of it but nothing else. There are no doors or chairs, so no one really spends much time in this area of the building. This is a very interesting spot to talk about any potential issues from the meeting.
Kyoshi looked at Rangi and raised an eyebrow, still very unwilling to speak in risk of horse stance punishment. Rangi didn't say anything. No she did not. Instead, she yanked on Kyoshi's collar and crashed their lips together. Before she even had time to blink, Rangi had pinned her against the wall of the tiny hallway.
Is that what Kyoshi was expecting to happen? It most certainly was not. Is Kyoshi mad about it? She most certainly is not.
Kyoshi quickly put one hand on Rangi's shoulder while the other cupped the back of Rangi's neck to deepen the kiss. The bodyguard moved on from kissing her lips to slowly trail her mouth down Kyoshi's neck.
"There's other ways to rile me up, you know," Rangi mumbled into her skin.
That is something that Kyoshi will be noting for later. Especially if this is the result.
The Avatar gasped as Rangi began pressing hot kisses on the scar at the base of her neck. A low moan rumbled from Kyoshi's throat against her will. Fuck, that firebender knew exactly what she was doing. Rangi knows Kyoshi's body like the back of her hand.
Therefore, she knows that kissing Kyoshi's neck scar will automatically turn her on. Kyoshi can feel herself getting wetter by the second. Her cunt began clenching around nothing, practically begging to be stimulated.
That's when she felt Rangi's hand slowly creep down to the very top of her long skirt. Then, her fingertips ever so slightly went beneath the skirt where Kyoshi's underwear resided.
Holy shit. Is Rangi trying to do what Kyoshi thinks she's trying to do? Now? Of all the times?
"Rangi, we have a meeting," Kyoshi gasped.
"Just say the word and I'll stop," Rangi whispered into her ear.
A better Avatar would be able to resist. A better Avatar would be able to tell their girlfriend it's a bad idea to have sex when they're in the middle of an important meeting.
It would appear that Kyoshi is not a better Avatar.
"We need to be quick," Kyoshi hissed.
"Well who am I to defy the Avatar?" Rangi grinned.
With that, Rangi's hands slipped past the waistband and lightly brushed against Kyoshi's clit. The taller woman gasped once more and bit her lip to prevent the sound from coming out.
"Fuck, Kyoshi. I've barely even touched you," Rangi mumbled lowly.
The poor Avatar didn't even have time to respond before one of Rangi's fingers slowly entered her. Kyoshi gasped and clenched tightly around her finger. It's when Rangi started slowly moving her finger that Kyoshi let out a high pitch whine.
Embarrassingly enough, Kyoshi's always been rather vocal during sex. This really is not the time to be vocal.
"You know I love the sounds you make, but unless you want those Fire Nations nobles to see the Avatar getting fucked by her bodyguard, you're gonna need to be quiet for me," Rangi smirked.
The prospect of that scenario playing out is enough for Kyoshi's entire body temperature to increase. It's just not fair how sexy her girlfriend is or how her melodic voice gets Kyoshi all riled up.
The Avatar had gotten so wet that Rangi had no issues slipping a second finger inside of her. Kyoshi buried her face in Rangi's shoulder to muffle her moans. The way her fingers furiously thrusted inside Kyoshi brought her closer and closer to her breaking point.
While Rangi continued to fuck Kyoshi with her fingers, the bodyguard decided to continue her onslaught of kisses on the side of Kyoshi's neck. The sensation made the Avatar so weak in the knees that she's basically leaning on Rangi for support.
Kyoshi knew she wouldn't last much longer. Rangi's fingers were relentless and every spot her lips touched set Kyoshi's skin on fire. Then Rangi's fingers hit that perfect sweet spot that made Kyoshi want to cry out from pure bliss. The firebender's precise fingers hit that same spot over and over again, causing Kyoshi to arch into Rangi, desperate to be as close as possible to her.
Once Rangi's thumb began hastily circling Kyoshi's clit, it was over for her. The Avatar had to physically bite her lip to prevent her moan from coming out as she finally reached her climax. Evidence of Kyoshi's wetness was coated over Rangi's fingers as she slowly pulled them out of her. Rangi made direct eye contact with her as she licked Kyoshi's arousal right from her own fingers. Kyoshi's face burned at the sight.
Kyoshi was too busy reeling from her orgasm to mentally process the fact that Rangi had dropped to her knees. The bodyguard began to slowly lift up Kyoshi's shirt. The Avatar's eyes widened when she realized Rangi was not, in fact, done with her yet.
"Do you think you have one more left in you?" Rangi asked.
"No Rangi, we need to get back to the negotiations where literal nobility is waiting for us!"
Is what Kyoshi WOULD have said if she wasn't such a whore.
"Rangi please," Kyoshi begged in reality.
The Fire Nation woman grinned and threw Kyoshi's right leg over Rangi's shoulder while the other leg stayed planted firmly on the ground. Rangi rolled up Kyoshi's skirt to her waist.
"Be a good girl and hold this for me," Rangi whispered.
It was like Kyoshi's body had a mind of its own with how quickly she fulfilled such a command. Kyoshi used both hands to keep her skirt up as Rangi moved the Avatar's underwear to the side. Now her bodyguard got a full view of Kyoshi's aching cunt.
"Your pussy is just as pretty as you are," Rangi praised.
Kyoshi blushed at such a sincere and lewd compliment. A split second later, Rangi's mouth made contact where Kyoshi needed it most. The Avatar couldn't help but allow a low moan to slip out.
Rangi dragged her tongue along Kyoshi's entrance. Yet again, the Avatar had to bite her lip to stop any noises of pleasure from coming out. The bodyguard decided to focus on giving Kyoshi light kisses onto her clit before starting to suck it.
Kyoshi's pants and muffled moans increased as she was being brought closer to the edge in absolutely no time. The first orgasm already made her incredibly sensitive, she would come to her peak much faster now.
Rangi's tongue began circling faster around Kyoshi's clit in a way that made her vision blur. Kyoshi began helplessly grinding her cunt against Rangi's face to get even more stimulation as fast as possible. It all felt too good. Rangi is just too good.
Once again, the bodyguard has to essentially hold up Kyoshi's entire bodyweight. The way her tongue makes Kyoshi feel is just so intense she can barely think. Thank the spirits for the wall behind her.
Rangi's skilled tongue brings Kyoshi closer and closer to her breaking point. Kyoshi's hands squeezed her skirt as she felt herself approach her release. The bodyguard's hands gripped Kyoshi's thighs as she continued eating her out. Finally, finally, Kyoshi got to experience the sweet release she had been craving. For a second time, that is.
Kyoshi really couldn't stop herself from letting a breathy moan escape her lips. Rangi pulled back with Kyoshi's wetness all over her face. The Avatar blushed as Rangi had to pull out a small handkerchief from her pocket to clean herself from the mess Kyoshi made.
With the same amount of care one would use to handle a delicate vase, Rangi gently moved Kyoshi's leg off her shoulder. Kyoshi pouted, feeling the warmth of her girl leave her, but dropped her skirt once her underwear was readjusted.
Rangi finally stood up and peppered Kyoshi's face with light, playful kisses. The Avatar giggled as her touch began to tickle.
"We really should get back to the negotiations meeting," Rangi sighed while pulling away.
"Wait, what about you?" Kyoshi asked.
Kyoshi does her best to be a good girlfriend. It's only natural she'd want to return the favor.
"Don't worry about me. Knowing you came on my face was more than enough satisfaction. For now, at least," Rangi grinned.
Kyoshi blushed brightly and looked away from her lover's gaze. It always sounds so much more dirty saying it out loud than when they actually do it.
"Rangi?" Kyoshi asked once she felt her blush die down.
Rangi hummed in response. Kyoshi smiled and gave Rangi a quick but intense kiss.
"I love you," Kyoshi smiled.
At once, it was as though every hard exterior Rangi possessed automatically softened. It was a statement they both already knew, but it was always so good to say.
"I love you, too. Let's go, Jinpa's probably having a heart attack as we speak," Rangi said.
Kyoshi nodded and followed her girl back to the meeting room. Jinpa looked at them in pure relief once he saw them again.
"Everything okay you two? What took you guys so long?" Jinpa asked.
"Oh, we're perfectly fine. Just had to tend to the Avatar's needs," Rangi shrugged.
Kyoshis misses her makeup so much. She had to hold her fan in front of her face to hide the red blush spreading all over it. This meeting needs to be over five minutes ago. How is Kyoshi supposed to survive when the love of her life does things like this?
Please, for the love of all that is good in this life and the next, let this damned meeting end quickly.
****************
The rest of the meeting went surprisingly well and without a hitch. All that was left to do was finalize the paperwork tomorrow and they would be out of Kyoshi's hair. Thank the spirits for that.
Now that the day is over, Kyoshi has the opportunity to have even more sex with her girlfriend. Life truly is good.
Once the Fire Nation nobles left the premises, Kysohi turned to her girl and gave her a smile of pure relief. The relief of finally being done with the most grueling task imaginable, talking to other people. Usually, Rangi returned her smile. Instead, the firebender simply pursed her lips and avoided Kyoshi's face.
Is she feeling okay? Rangi seemed distracted, which is very unlike her. Maybe all the recent negotiations have been getting to her?
"We need to talk," was all Rangi said before walking back into their home.
In no universe is the phrase 'we need to talk' a good thing to hear from the woman you're dating. Kyoshi felt like she was walking to the gallows as she followed Rangi back to their shared bedroom. Once they reached said room, Kyoshi sat on the edge of the bed. Rangi did not sit beside her. Instead, she chose to stand right in front of her.
Well now Kyoshi is slightly terrified for their relationship. She simply waited for the bodyguard to speak.
"Look, next time you use such a tactic to get your way in negotiations, at least warn me first. I realize sometimes a more, unconventional approach is necessary, but I was completely blind sided," Rangi frowned
"What are you talking about? That was the most conventional strategy," Kyoshi replied, very confused.
Intimidation tactics in general are very common to use. In fact, Kyoshi would say it's her favorite tactic of all time. How she loves striking fear into people's hearts.
Yikes, it sounded really bad when she put it that way.
"You're kidding me, right? There's absolutely nothing conventional about what happened back there!" Rangi snapped, voice laced with hurt.
Kyoshi has no idea why Rangi is so upset. Could it be Kyoshi had done something to offend her?
"Look, I honestly don't understand why you're so upset. I did what I always do. I scare the life out of them, they give us what we want. Simple math," Kyoshi insisted.
Rangi did not look amused at all.
"Scared them? You're claiming to have scared them? You have to be joking," Rangi scoffed.
"Uh, no. No I'm not," Kyoshi honestly told her.
Rangi stared at her for a moment before her entire expression changed.
"Holy shit, you're not joking," Rangi mumbled.
"Why would I?" Kyoshi asked with a raised eyebrow.
Rangi merely continued to stare at her for a moment. Then, she buried her face in her hands. She let out a strangled, almost choking sound and Kyoshi feared her girl was crying. Then she looked up and found Rangi laughing.
The fuck is so funny?
"I could not be more lost right now," Kyoshi bluntly stated.
Rangi, still laughing her ass off, walked over and sat next to Kyoshi on the bed. Once she was finished with her little giggles, Rangi let out a long, drawn out sigh.
"Spirits, I fell in love with a moron," Rangi said.
"I mean, you're probably not wrong, but why?" Kyoshi exclaimed.
She is just so confused. For once, Kyoshi thought she knew what she was doing!
"I swear, you're denser than the rocks you bend. Kyoshi, those nobles weren't scared of you, they were flirting with you," Rangi told her.
Kyoshi blinked twice. Then immediately rolled her eyes. That's what she thought was going on? Seriously?
"C'mon Rangi, there's no way. I think I would know if I was getting hit on," Kyoshi drawled.
"I had a crush on you for two years before you confessed," Rangi very rudely reminded her.
"That's true, but be realistic Rangi. I'm well aware of what I look like," Kyoshi scoffed.
"Believe me, so am I. What exactly are you trying to say?" Rangi glared.
Boy, her girl is not going to like this one. Along with being the Avatar's bodyguard, it was Rangi's life mission to build Kyoshi's confidence. The Avatar never really excelled in that department.
"No need for the looks, Rangi. It's not like I think I'm some hideous troll or anything. But, well, I'm crazy tall and have a lot of scars. It's not exactly an ideal look. Neither are the freckles, I've come to learn. Besides, it's like you said. I had nice hands before they got all scarred, but now," Kyoshi sighed while trailing off.
Rangi frowned before holding both of Kyoshi's hands in her own. She soothingly rubbed her thumbs against the back of Kyoshi's hands.
"I'm sorry I made you feel as though a part of you was undesirable. That's really not what I was trying to say. I've always found your hands pretty, I just conveyed my feelings poorly. I admit, I have very complicated feelings about your scars," Rangi sighed.
She thinks that deep down, Kyoshi knew that already. Unfortunately, her self esteem has never really been sky high. Hearing Rangi say those words out loud was a bigger comfort than Kyoshi thought it would be.
"Oh? Like what?" Kyoshi asked curiously.
"On one hand, I hate that you had to experience so much pain. They're reminders that I wasn't able to protect you. You never deserved such horrible treatment. But on the other hand," Rangi said. "Spirits, Kyoshi, your scars are so attractive. The way they decorate your skin makes you look like a damn masterpiece. It's like lightning running across your body. I've never seen anyone so beautiful."
Rangi was staring at Kyoshi with so much love that it actually stole the air from her lungs. Immediately, the Avatar's cheeks were burning so badly they had to resemble the deep red of a fire lily.
"So you think I'm attractive," Kyoshi mumbled with a dopey grin.
Rangi gave her a look and lightly kicked her leg. Kyoshi let out a small giggle at her girlfriend's action.
"Of course I think you're attractive, you big oaf. We are in a romantic relationship," Rangi snorted.
Kyoshi giggled and pressed a small kiss atop Rangi's forehread. Her girl blushed a bit before leaning her head on Kyoshi's shoulder.
"You know, in the Fire Nation, scars really are considered to be a very beautiful addition to the human body. I hate to agree with that stupid Akiko or whatever, but your scars are so pretty. They're like little trophies of battles you survived. Let me tell you, they'd have gone ballistic if they knew about your stretch marks. They're a sign of growth and health back. Just another part of you so attractive it drives me insane," Rangi told her.
Kyoshi blushed once more at the mention of said marks. Her stretch marks mainly littered around her breasts and thighs. Now that Kyoshi thinks about it, Rangi's always given them special attention.
"Also, fuck Yokoya beauty standards. I adore your freckles. The jackass nobles certainly did too," Rangi huffed.
Kyoshi giggled and kissed her girl's nose. Then, realization dawned on her.
"Oh spirits, does that mean me showing off my scars," Kyoshi trailed off.
"Yeah, you were basically seducing them. It was very effective," Rangi confirmed.
"That's so humiliating! Now everything I threatened just sounds sexual!" Kyoshi groaned while flopping on the bed.
Rangi laughed and laid down next to her. Kyoshi adjusted herself so that they were eye level. Spirits, Rangi has the prettiest eyes.
"That may or may not be why I dragged you out of the meeting. I get that people flirt with you, I do. But it just seemed like you were flirting back this time," Rangi admitted quietly.
Kyoshi frowned at the realization that it definitely seemed like she was flirting. She cringed remembering the comment about what her hands had done. That really sounds sexual and Kyoshi absolutely hates it.
"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to," Kyoshi honestly told her.
"Now I know you didn't. I'm not upset since you were unaware. I guess I just got too jealous. I wasn't too much during that meeting, was I? I hope I didn't pressure you into anything," Rangi worriedly stated.
It shouldn't be possible to be this in love with someone, yet here Kyoshi is. The amount of love she has for Rangi is far too much to be contained in this world.
"Of course I wanted everything you gave me. I'll sleep good tonight knowing that my stoic, calm, and collected bodyguard fucked me in the middle of a negotiations meeting because she was jealous," Kyoshi teased.
Rangi groaned and playfully shoved Kyoshi's shoulder. The Avatar merely laughed and scooted closer to her.
"You're not the only one who gets jealous, you know. I swear countless people have tried hitting on you. I never feel too upset about it because you shut them down so quickly it baffles them," Kyoshi smiled.
Rangi merely kissed Kyoshi on the lips in response. Kyoshi was more than happy to feel her love's lips on her once more.
"I still can't believe you didn't notice, they were being so obvious about it. I really shouldn't be surprised. Not like this is the first time you were flirted with and were completely oblivious," Rangi sighed.
"What? What other times are there?" Kyoshi frowned.
"My point exactly. Nothing to worry your pretty little head about," Rangi teased as she kissed her cheek.
Kyoshi just smiled and observed Rangi's face for a moment. Truly, has there ever been a more beautiful woman? Kyoshi doubts it.
The Avatar was going to change the subject and suggest the two get a quick nap in, but stopped herself. There's just one detail that still doesn't make sense about today.
"Oh, quick question. Do you know what was up with Jinpa during the meeting? I've never seen him so antsy," Kyoshi asked.
Rangi's face turned bright red and she avoided Kyoshi's gaze. It took her a couple moments, but Rangi finally gave her an answer.
"That was unfortunately my fault. I'm not as calm and collected as I look. Seeing someone flirt with my girlfriend kind of makes me seethe with rage. When they started hitting on you, I thought I was gripping the chair but I was really digging into Jinpa's arm. He told me it was fine so pretty much every time you were hit on, I squeezed his arm. I'm pretty sure I ended up burning it at some point. So, uh, please remind me to apologize to him tomorrow," Rangi sheepishly told her.
Wow.
"Between the two of us, that poor bastard needs the biggest raise in all Four Nations."
"Agreed."

The Tale Of The Bloodline | TWICE MiSaMo (Mina, Sana & Momo) x M/F Reader- CHAPTER 13: "Chasing Advantage"
Tumblr media
In this chapter, both teams are in preparation for their upcoming war. The returning Cho Miyeon who have just returned as the 5th member of BLACKPINK, has something to say for The Bloodline on what led her to return and join en route to WarGames.
Tumblr media
3 DAYS LATER | November 21, 2022
This week’s episode of Monday Night War opened with the recently returned Cho Miyeon who made her entrance after months of absence due to her fractured arm. With a microphone in hand, she steps into the ring, evident that the fighter has something to speak out from her feelings. The crowd started to chant and cheer for Miyeon as she prepares herself for her promo.
She looked around and smiled. Raising her hand where the mic is on hold, the crowd then lowered their noises to let the fighter begin respectfully.
“Last Friday, I joined the WarGames match as the fifth member against The Bloodline.” Miyeon states. The crowd cheered again as they remembered that awesome moment she made with her surprising return.
“And I did that for one good reason. I did that for one specific person from that other team… and I’m not talking about Minatozaki Sana.” She clarified.
“See because, even after everything we’ve been through… I still consider Sana as a true sister and whenever she’s going through right now is her problem.” She said as she pointed at herself after explaining that she doesn’t have a big deal going on with her bestfriend.
“No, the person I’m talking about… the person I’m coming for this Saturday at Quest For Survival… is Yuta Nakamoto.”
The crowd cheered as she declared her main target for her mission.
“It’s been 2 long years since you and I have faced each other in this ring.” Miyeon focused on the camera in front, shooting her. She knows that The Bloodline or probably Yuta himself especially, is watching and listening to whatever she’s saying right now.
“And come this Saturday, I’m going to remind you again just who the hell I am.” Miyeon said with pure seriousness. “I am Cho Miyeon. I am the woman who took you to the limit, not once, not twice… but THREE TIMES.” She formed three on her fingers as she recollects their long-running feud since last year in which she became one of the early rivals of Yuta through his first months as World Champion.
“Who, if it wasn’t for your Bloodline, would’ve ended that history making title reign before it even started… and I’m  the woman Saturday who will go to WarGames and take out your entire Bloodline so the next time I get another shot at you, no one is going to stop me this time from being the one who will KICK YOUR ASS AND WIN THAT TITLE.” She said with pent-up rage in her tone. The crowd even became louder on supporting the revengeful woman.
“But now, I got to go to Knockdown because I got extended by an invitation from some girls and how rude of me if I wouldn’t return the favor.” She shrugged. “So guess what? Tonight, I didn’t come alone.”
The entrance theme of BLACKPINK started to play on the titantron which earned an applause and delightful reception from the audience as they got to witness also one of the roster’s current fan-favorite fighters live in the show.
They made their entrance through the staircase of the arena, a little jab to Yuta as they referenced his former faction before he became The Empire Chief and formed The Bloodline known as The Arsenal. He once had a character reminiscent of a heavy artillery personified fighter wearing black SWAT vest along with his two other former members… or should I say, his former “brothers” in arms.
Some of the fans near them chanted and took a picture of them, taking the advantage of having stars like them to become close through them. The crowd became livelier when the titantron played Jennie’s theme afterwards and joined BLACKPINK on the staircase, in which they went down through the crowd to make their way to the ring and join their fellow member Miyeon there.
All 5 women are now in the ring, with Miyeon giving the spotlight for BLACKPINK as she sat at the top turnbuckle on the corner.
“Hokkaido!!!” The pumped-up Rosé Park shouted at the mic. “It’s FIGHT NIGHTTT!!!”
Lisa grinned and took the initiation next. “Do you smell it fellas? There’s some banger cooking in the stove, and this coming Saturday night is gonna be the most pain-staking, unforgiving career-altering matches in the history of Japan Combat Federation!!!
Now last Friday night, I told that stupid Minatozaki Sana that when he find out who that fifth member was, she’s going to pee in her embarassing, little pants.” She laughed teasingly. “And that is none other than The Prizefighter, Cho Miyeon!!!” She pointed at Miyeon who is feeling a bit awkward on how she’ll receive that acknowledgment from the leader of the group itself.
“Now I don’t remember the last time we had a team where Yuta Nakamoto and The Bloodline hold those top titles in hostage, abusing their powers, abusing their numbers game, but this coming Saturday… it’s all going to change.” Jennie spoke menacingly. Miyeon came down from the turnbuckle and joined the rest on the center of the ring.
“You are looking at five women who wants to rip apart The Bloodline. Five women who are ready to walk through the depths of hell with smile on their faces. TWO RINGS, TWO CAGES, NO FUCKING RULES. EVERYBODY, ARE YOU READY FOR A WARRR?!” Jennie roared at the mic as she furiously glared at the camera to intensify the hype of their upcoming mega match this coming weekend. The crowd cheered in response to their uplifting message until the fun was cut short when suddenly, an unexpected interruption from somebody appeared for BLACKPINK.
If The Bloodline is mostly ruling Knockdown, then there’s another domination faction who is also doing the same for Monday nights. The team known as Aespa arrives with all members in attendance to confront the team on the ring.
Led by the intimidating Yoo Karina along with her other members, Ning Yizhuo, Giselle Uchinaga, and Kim Winter, they all emerged from the white fog and darkness that represents their angsty aura and their gothic characters.
As the beat drops on their rock-themed music, Karina emoted a battlecry as she pumped her fists forward, signalling the pyro to pop and a large purplish-black wings flapped open on the background with a black mamba on the center as their symbol.
“Jennie, please shut up.” Giselle spoke first on behalf of the team. Jennie just smirked at her complaint. “Because the only people who are gonna be talked about after Quest For Survival, is what I’m going to do on my match. I think you and your BLACKPINK are lost, because this is Monday Night War: the show where Aespa runs.”
The crowd then booed at them while the members of BLACKPINK and Miyeon all looked altogether at each other. They heard the leader Karina spoke next. “This isn’t playtime, you all gonna just stand there and talk smack, go take that somewhere else, but here you all rise and show respect for us!” She demanded.
“Yeah yall better go back there on Knockdown before someone else gets hurt.” Ningning followed up with some words of her own.
“Ooohhhohohohhh… you tell them, Ning! Well, i’m here also to send a message for Han Julie!” Winter yelled on the mic in frustration after mentioning her rival’s name. “Julie you’ve been stealing from me for years, and at Quest For Survival you’re going to get taxed again. Kim Winter is going to collect some debt.
And as for you, five clowns…” Winter focused her attention on the unwelcome individuals occupying the ring.  “I hope The Bloodline SMASH you all at Quest For Survival.”
She was about to walk back to her members when she remembered something. “Oh by the way, next time… you show your ugly faces here on our show? Us Aespa won’t be going so nice.”
“Aww Kim Winter, my fellow Korean how are you doing sunbaenim?” Jennie replied. You know, maybe our towns are just miles apart back in Korea but as two Korean fighters here in Japan, we’re maybe million miles apart from there. You see, I don’t respect you.” Her tone became flat. “You’re the type of garbage here in Japan that is so needed to be dispatched.”
“A garbage? Here in Japan? What?” Winter wheezed in confusion. “Take this as a lesson for you, Jennie. Even salt can be looked as a sugar, and I’m one hell of a salty Korean baddie!”
“Oh you’re salty huh? Well now I’m salivating my entire career to get you in this ring and beat you up one on one but since we’re already here in Hokkaido who’s in a good mood tonight…” Jennie starts to engage the fans into their enthusiasm. “Why don’t we do Aespa vs. BLACKPINK right here, RIGHT NOW!!!”
All four members of Aespa were pissed off at their challenge as the crowd chanted for them to accept. “Oh yeah, now we’re speaking our language!” Winter commented.
“CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!” Karina officially declared it. The Hokkaido crowd is about to have some battle of the stables between Aespa and BLACKPINK as the main event of this week’s Monday Night War.
2 HOURS LATER
4 minutes have passed into the match and as how the match’s condition currently looks, Aespa has the clear advantage against BLACKPINK. Lisa and Jennie are out of the ring, resting from the hits and bumps they took so far while Aespa has all three of them present in the ring with Giselle watching from the ringside. The same could be tell also for Miyeon and Jisoo on BLACKPINK’s side.
After Rosé headbutted Karina through the ropes, she became unaware of Winter spinning her around, kicked her on the midsection, locked her head on reverse before twirling around and elbowed her face down. Both women are down and slowly crawled through their respective corners until they have reached their respective partners for a tag.
Winter goes for Ningning while Rosé goes for the recovered Lisa. As they entered the ring, Ningning became scared as she realized that she’s stepping foot in the same space with the leader of BLACKPINK herself. Eyeing her down with a devilish grin, she slowly walks through the afraid Ningning before she decided to hop out of the ropes.
Planning to escape by running through the ramp, Lisa chases down Ningning. As they reached the entrance way, the titantron suddenly flashed the theme of Aespa’s current enemies, the badass group known as Kiss Of Life made their surprise appearance to interrupt the match.
Led by the leader Han Julie along with her members Natty Supputipong and Annabelle Shim with their manager Won Haneul accompanying them, they shocked the two fighters chasing together like cat and mouse through the arena, especially Ningning herself who is a part of the group they despise of.
Detected that they showed up on purpose to stop Ningning from escaping, Lisa rushes on dragging Ningning back to the ring while she clotheslined the approaching Karina from the ringside. Entering the ring, she clotheslined the recovered Winter also and gave some couple other more to Ningning too.
With Kiss Of Life watching from the stage, Lisa pushed Ningning through the turnbuckle and pulled her to utilize a backbreaker move on her, slamming her down on her thigh. She then positioned Ningning on the ropes, locking both her arms as she stood behind. Before she was about to plummet her arms on her chests repeatedly, Karina reentered the ring but was greeted by an elbow from Lisa.
A distraction caused Ningning to get out from getting locked and pulled Lisa’s head down through the top rope. Rosé was about to attack Ningning but Karina came for a save, slamming her onto the mat face first.
Then she caught Jisoo who is about to attempt jumping at her. Choking her to stop the attack mid-air, she was about to deliver a chokeslam on the fighter but the latter counters it with enziguiri kick to the side of the head. The stunned Karina gets out of the ring while Jisoo followed her.
Standing at the apron, she aimed at Karina and performed a moonsault through her. As she stood back up, she was met by a charging Winter. Attempting to get back on the ring, she instead faced a clubbt blow on her stomach by Lisa.
As she prepares to perform her signature move on Winter by locking her again on the ropes, Ningning came for the rescue and rolled Lisa for a pinfall, she kicked out and Ningning received a thunderous knee to the face that had the crowd wince at the impact.
Enough of the delays, she hurriedly sets up Ningning again on the ropes to finish what she started, Lisa then hammered Ningning’s chest 20 times until she pass out. The crowd then cheered as Miyeon and Jennie were amused at the show they’ve watched.
Lisa maintains the loud reaction coming from the fans by going through the corner and make everybody be aware of what’s about to come, probably a preview of what The Bloodline is about to met on WarGames. She hypes herself up with some encouraging beats to the chest before she runs through the weakened Ningning and finish her off with a devastating big boot to the face.
She pins Ningning, the referee counts and without a kick out for three, the bell rang and the victory was granted for BLACKPINK.
No time allowed for them celebrate because right after Lisa raises her arms in victory, Winter and Karina blindsided her with attacks of their own. Rosé and Jisoo tried to save their leader but they were rid off by Winter. However, Lisa got to reverse Karina’s attack and clotheslined her out if the ring.
That instead just made Karina to land back on her feet and pulled Lisa out of the ring. With Winter all alone in the ring cheering for her teammate to continue the attacks on Lisa, it backfired when Lisa speeds up her punches and purposely led themselves through the ramp.
And when Karina turned around, she met a brutal side kick to the head by Natty with a permission from her leader Julie.
The angered Winter stares down at Kiss Of Life and egoistically dared them to come across the ring and fight her. The crowd then cheered aloud again, and Winter mistakenly took it as if she thought the crowd wants it to happen but rather otherwise.
The cheers were for the emerging Cho Miyeon on her back, looking at her with a smirk. Sighing and shrugging her shoulders, she unbotheredly spun the villanous Winter around and went for a stunner to her, entertaining the fans more as the show ends.
4 DAYS LATER | November 25, 2022
For this week’s Friday Night Knockdown, their last episode before Quest For Survival arrives tomorrow, the camera cuts to the backstage scene where Minatozaki Sana is seen to be heading through The Bloodline’s locker room.
The crowd went in glee for the appearance of the amusing Honorary Muse. Sana was about to open the door when she heard a familiar voice calling her name from behind.
She turned around and saw Miyeon coming at her. “Hey, what are you doing here? Go!”
“What? Why?”
“Go! Just… you cannot be here, Miyeon.” Sana said as she frantically pushes her away. “Please, just go. They’re all here.”
“Oh are they?”
She was about to move forward but Sana pushes her more. “Yes, but please we aren’t doing it here tonight. Just go.”
“Okay, you really want me to go? Fine. But you need to listen to me first?” Miyeon had enough and became serious on confronting her bestfriend. “I have a question for you, what happens if you do something or say something and it pisses off one of them. It could be YN, it could be Yuta…”
“Oh my God…” Sana reacted exhaustedly.
“No no no, you’re doing fine. You’re having fun with The Bloodline right? But hey, how many times in the last 15 years where I have to bail you out all because you have said something, did something that pisses somebody off… without you meaning it? So what happens if you do the same to them, especially to Yuta. What do you think he’s gonna do to you?” Miyeon scolded her.
“You’ve seen what YN did to Yuta looked how he reacted, do you think it won’t be going the same for you? Just think about that, you know what I’m going to do if I were you?
I won’t wait for them to turn my back on me. Instead, I’ll strike first.”
Miyeon walks away, leaving the befuddled and speechless Sana process everything that her worried bestfriend had said to her for a safety advice. She hesitatingly opened the door but instead it was done rather by YN who was secretly eavesdropping their conversation from the small gap of the winded door, searching for Miyeon.
“H-hey, YN.”
“What’s up with you?”
“Look, I got texted by Mina and I just got here-”
“Where you’ve been at? We could’ve used you there!” You said as you were pertaining to that little brawl you just had with Mina and Momo along with BLACKPINK during Jisoo’s match for the Japan Combat Federation World Cup tournament.
“I texted Mina, I just got here, I was running late.” Sana explained.
“Oh you just got here huh? Let me ask you something, we’re you talking to somebody before you came here?”
“No?” Sana asked perplexedly.
You came upfront of Sana and stared intently at her menacingly. “No one?”
“No. I’m talking to you right now, is that okay?” She replied with a weirded expression on her face.
Your demeanor also changed into calm. “Okay. It’s cool then.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. We good.”
“Okay so uhm are they’re inside?”
“Yeah they’re all in there.”
“Well we’ll figure it out later tonight.” Sana smiled and patted you on the shoulder. As soon as she entered the locker room and closed the door, your teeth gritted in anger, knowing that she just lied right in front of your face.
1 HOUR LATER
A match was set between Team BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Lisa against The Myoui’s YN and Mina to determine who will have the advantage in the WarGames match. That means the winner of the match will go on to enter first and start the match tomorrow.
During the match, Lisa sets you up on the ropes and hammered your chest 17 times until you collapsed on the ringside. Lisa tried to pick you up again but you were saved by Mina who is pulling you away from Lisa’s grasp.
However, Jennie came into play as she grabbed Mina’s hair and tugged her up to the apron. The twins are now set on the ropes and the bestfriends realized that they’re about to do something more entertaining to give for the fans. A double hammering fist came up in their mind but it was ruined when both of them got their heads bounced onto the top rope when you and Mina escaped from their clutch.
You pulled Lisa’s legs out of the ring and drived her through the barricade while Jennie strikes her finisher rocket kick on Mina’s face. As she watches Mina roll out of the ring, you climbed and superkicked Jennie in revenge for your sister.
You then ran through the ropes and took out Lisa with a suicide dive out of the ring. As you reinserted her back, Lisa then pushed you through the corned and gave multiple bumps onto your midsection before she lifts you up on the top, chops your chest and released an amount of punches to your head.
You were about to be sent down by a superplex but Momo interfered by trying to enter the ring but the referee prevented her. A strategy for distraction, Sana pulled Lisa’s hair and slammed her on the ring, leaving the exhausted you on the top turnbuckle prepare yourself for a frog splash onto Lisa’s body.
You covered her for a pin, but Lisa kicks out at almost three, making Sana jump in disbelief that the plan didn’t work. Sana stepped on the apron and complained at the referee but Rosé brought her down and they began throwing fists at each other. Jisoo then charges at Momo and all four of them created chaos again at the ringside.
Momo then elicited a huge slap to Jisoo’s face, making her lay down on the announce table and used it for Momo to barrage her with some blows to the head. Rosé saw how her partner is suffering, she then assisted Jisoo by turning Momo’s attention to her.
All four of them started to quarrel again until it got stopped when Jennie launches herself from the top rope, a diving moonsault through the pack of wolves leaving all of them knocked down on the floor.
Sana watches the mess and saw Miyeon also approaching the scattered fighters down below them. The two stared down at each other before Miyeon reminded her again of the consequences she might about to face once The Bloodline doesn’t need her anymore.
Sana had enough and pushes off Miyeon away. In return, Miyeon tosses Sana into the ring which resulted for the referee to eject Sana out of the ringside as she illegally entered the ring.
The complaining Sana had diverted the attention of the referee to her. You tried to use it for cheating by holding your tag team title belt and use it to smash it on Lisa’s head but Miyeon quickly didn’t allowed you so, attacking you with a stunner and became a go signal for Lisa to unleash a big boot on your face.
She covered your unconscious body on the mat, referee counts to three and it’s over. The shows ends with BLACKPINK and Miyeon walking out of the arena with the WarGames advantage in their posession that might raise the percentage of their win possibility against The Bloodline tomorrow.

Gotham City can be a terrible place to live but at least it has a nice skate park. It wasn’t always that way but ever since Bruce Wayne started his free space repair program all kinds of free activities for city kids had opened up. In Tim Drake’s opinion, the skate park was the best. Conveniently placed near Gotham Academy AND in the direction of Tim’s house? It was perfect. The best part? Sometimes, Jason Todd showed up with his older brother. What’s cooler than one Robin? Two!
Not that either boy knew Tim existed, of course. Tim Drake was fantastic at getting peoples eyes to glance right over him. Janet Drake had trained him to become invisible, after all. But really, it was too cool to watch. if a little funny at times. Dick Grayson was a wonder in the air, but finding your balance of skateboard is a bit different than finding your balance on a beam. Jason wasn’t much better about it but hearing him laugh at Dick falling on his butt after attempting a kickflip always brought a warm feeling to Tim’s chest.
Sometimes, Tim was tempted to go over and try to teach them, but he always chickened out at the last moment. He settled for helping out the seven year olds who always fell off their scooters. There had been a few times where he picked them up and out of the way right before they could get run over but it was all in a days work.
Tim usually managed to visit the skate park for an hour or two after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the other days he had extracurriculars Or had to be home in time to check in with Mrs. Agnes, the house keeper. Heaven forbid he gets home even a minute too late. Her pointy fingers always left his arm sore when she marched him up to his room.
where was Tim going with this again? Oh yeah, school is finally out and it’s time to visit the skate park. He had debated bringing his camera this morning, but ultimately decided that it wasn’t something he wanted to carry around all day.
He couldn’t help but wonder if he would see Jason and Dick there that day. Usually, they went around every three weeks after school. One of the nicest parts about seen him there though, was a heads up that Nightwing would be out that night. Nightwing was so fun to take pictures of. he was an entertainer after all. His movements fluid and quick. Once, Tim had gotten a picture of him falling from one of the higher buildings in a pose that almost perfectly made it seem like he was flying through the air. Arms spread, feet together, and chest out. A stark contrast to the way he windmilled and gracelessly fell at the skatepark, though Tim was pretty sure he only let himself fall because it made Jason laugh. The ride from school to the skate park wasn’t long, thankfully. It would be such a hassle to have to bike to the skate park and carry his board too. upon arriving to the park, he glanced at who was present that day
The good news, was that Jason was there! Not so cool news, Dick wasn’t. Jason seemed to be in a bad mood either way. Usually, Tim wouldn’t butt in. Usually he would’ve just made sure that Jason got back safe. But… Tim had a bad feeling. He hadn’t seen Robin out with Batman the day before. or the day before the day before that. Tim knew he couldn’t just leave this alone.
“So, where is your older brother?” Tim blurted out as soon as he was next to Jason
Jason blinked, looking mildly shocked before furrowing his brows. “Who’s asking? And why d’ya wanna know?”
“Uh” Tim said unintelligently. “I see you around here a lot and usually you don’t go by yourself.”
Jason stared for a moment, looking conflicted.
”Oh! I’m Tim, Tim Drake. We’re um, we’re neighbors.” Tim’s palms felt sweaty. This was painfully awkward.
“I guess that makes sense. Not that it’s any of your business.” Jason said hesitantly, taking a deep breath and then speaking again. “So, you skateboard?”
“Yeah, I guess, a little” Tim stuttered out. “You never answered my question.” Before clapping both hands over his mouth. he did not mean to say that out loud.
“He’s out of town for the month, ya nosey little shit. He lives in Blühaven.” Jason gave a wry grin. “He’ll be back soon.” he opened his mouth as if to say something else, but closed it again and looked away.
let it be known Tim is just as stupid as he is smart. He knows that once he starts talking, there’s no stop. It’s why he never talked to Jason or Dick before. Despite that, he opened his big, dumb, mouth. “Hey I’ll raise you to that ice cream place around the corner. Whoever loses has to pay.”
Jason grinned maniacally, “Alright short-stack, you’re on!” And then Jason shot off like a blur. Tim yelped out a “Hey! No fair!” before running after Jason.
Tim lost, not that there is really any competition, Jason’s legs were longer anyway.
One Neapolitan bowl and one Superman cone later, (courtesy of Tim’s wallet, of course) Jason and Tim headed back to the skatepark. they wound up wandering around, talking about anything and everything, laughing at the college kids who fell on their faces and the pigeons who attacked some guy for his fries. (The random dude was fine but he seemed creepy anyway so Tim couldn’t bring himself to feel bad.)
One hour turned into two and two turned into four. Soon enough, it got late and it was just about time to head home. The older kids were showing up anyway, and usually it wasn’t a good idea to stick around.
Tim was about to mention this, but when he turned to look at Jason, he paused.
“Not sure why I’m tellin’ ya this. But, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders.” Jason murmured, “I was gonna run away tonight.”
“Oh.” breathed Tim.
“My- I found my bio mom. I’m um- I was, that is, staying with Bruce Wayne.” Jason turned to stare out towards where Tim knew Wayne manor was. ”But, he thinks I did something I didn’t. something I would never do.” Jason swipes furiously at his eyes. “I found my birth certificate. The woman I called my mom all this time was actually my stepmother.” He turns back, making eye contact with Tim, a determined look on his face. “Her name is Sheila Haywood. I was going to fly to Ethiopia to meet her.”
Tim inhales sharply, “Alone?” he asks breathlessly.
“Yeah.” Jason replies guiltily. “I didn’t think Bruce would believe me.”
Tim pauses, thinking it over. “And, how much research have you done on this?”
Jason tenses, “Enough.” he snaps defensively. “I found a way there and back. I have enough to find somewhere to stay for about a week. But, if everything goes well then I should be able to stay with my mom.”
Tim laughs a little, a short exhale through his nose. “Oh no, I know you can take care of yourself. I’m talking about how much you researched into your mom. it would be smart to know why she moved. I don’t think a lot of people move to Ethiopia just for a change of pace. What if she were involved in some kind of-“
“She would never!” Jason exclaimed. “She’s an aid worker there.”
“Okay, I believe you.” Tim reaffirmed “ it was just an example. my point is just that, having all the facts is an important part of every plan.”
Jason relaxed at Tim’s reassurance, “Oh. That makes sense I guess.”
“Maybe I could help!” Tim squeaked out nervously. “ you could come to mine I’ll get my laptop out and we can look into her public records. Maybe we could do a little bit more digging and see if there could’ve been an outside situation.”
Jason considered it for a second, tilting his head back.
“If you sleep over at my house tonight, you don’t have to see Bruce.” Tim added quickly.
Jason whipped his head to look at Tim, nodding vigorously. “Yeah that would be great. Um, maybe we can stop by really quickly though just to tell Alfred and pick up my clothes for tomorrow.”
—>
With Tim’s help, Jason found evidence that Sheila was involved with the Joker. He never went to Ethiopia, he does tell Bruce about his bio mom. Batman goes to investigate it, finds out about the Joker’s plot, and stops it in time. Jason Todd doesn’t die. But he doesn’t see much of Tim anymore either.
Tim Drake saves his favorite Robin. Who knows what would’ve happened had he actually gone to Ethiopia? Especially since the Joker was there. Nothing good obviously. Jason and Tim stay friends for a little while, but don’t stay that way for long, only occasionally seeing each other in the hallways at school. Jason was busy with personal matters anyway, not much time for the skate park. Or for Tim. Eventually, Dick and Jason show up again, bringing Cass, Steph, and Damian along to teach them how to skate. Tim keeps his distance, content to watch.
Sometimes. Sometimes he wishes he could join them. Not that he’d ever say that out loud, of course. It’s the same way with their nightly activities too. It’s selfish. Tim has everything he could ever need. A roof over his head, food in his pantry, and two living parents. Even though they aren’t around. he has his hobby, chasing shadows around Gotham, taking pictures. That’s what Tim was meant for. He wasn’t meant to be a brother, or even a friend.

Venture x Pregnant! Reader
Overwatch
2nd POV
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•
- i want to start this off by giving a quick headcanon!!(idk if ive said it already) but i TOTALLY believe that sloan has a huge family, and i mean HUGE. bunch of brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews, so they’ve ‘experienced’ what it’s like to have someone who’s pregnant
- but anyways, into the request!
- so! a few weeks after the two of you got 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂, sloan noticed that you were a little…off?
- something didn’t sit right with them, but they kind of shrugged it off to ‘it’s been a while, and we both have shitty sleep schedules; it’s probably that’ and they went to work
- you knew something was wrong, so you took a pregnancy test from the bathroom
- ^ the girls in sloan’s family gave some tests for you just in case
- but anyways, you took the test, patiently waited the three minutes and-
- you were pregnant.
- sloan got home a few hours later, and you told them you made a discovery while they were at work. sloan’s mind immediately clicked to you finding a geo in the backyard but they closed their eyes, and opened them to reveal a positive pregnancy test!
- they were so happy!! started crying tears of joy while they peppered you in kisses and engulfed you into so many hugs!
- when you’d have really bad morning sickness, sloan would hold your hair back and just sit with you on the bathroom floor
- they know you’re going through a lot, and you’re going to go through more as the months go on, so they’ll accommodate to your every need:)
- one of my irl pookies gave me a headcanon😳 she said, “venture the typa parent to act ike theyre calm and collected the whole pregnancy but constantly freak out and worry about their partner” WHICH I SO AGREE ON!
- even though sloan went through this multiple times, they’re so stressed out because it’s YOU! their partner!!
- you’d be in bed, upset about something then sloan will come to the rescue!
“don’t worry, i’ll go get you something!” *stands completely still*
*in disbelief while tears are STREAMING down your face* “WHAT ARE YOU DOING??”
“I-I DONT KNOWWW!”
- they panic so much cause they don’t want to make you more upset or anything:)
- sloan tries their HARDEST to not make you mad at them, but it just ends up with you crying because of how sweet they are towards you
- whenever you have a new craving, sloan is so down to try it. a good 70% of the times they like them! but the other 30%…never again.
- have you seen those cute gender reveals where it’s just the parents and they cut the cake? yall did that
- this and this tiktok are MY FAVORITE GENDER REVEALS EVERRR!! and it’s EXACTLY how i imagine it!!(kinda)
- the two of you were somewhere pretty, like a lake, flower garden or a beautiful meadow! and you two had the cake in front of you, the glasses in hand.
- little oneshot real quick for this😳:
“you ready?” sloan muttered, hands shaking as they held the beautiful champagne glass that was going to cut the cake to reveal the gender.
you nodded faintly, heart hammering against your chest. your hands shook violently, your wedding ring tapping against the glass, a faint ding sound ringed through the glass.
the two of you hovered over the cake, both glasses clinking together.
“i’m so scared.” you sighed, your voice cracking as tears stung your eyes.
sloan brought their fee hand up to your face, caressing your cheek before letting their hand rest on your arm. “it’s okay!” they reassured with a chuckle, rubbing their thumb across your forearm.
sighing, you nodded, the two of you closing your eyes and pressing down into the cake, pulling your glasses up once they were filled with cake.
“okay.” sloan chuckled, rolling their shoulders. “3…2…1…”
the two of you opened your eyes, you bursting into tears while you dropped your glass into your lap, the frosting staining your dress.
sloan let out a breath, eyes wide as they examined the glass in their hands before leaning it against the cake, pulling you into a hug as they two of you cried tears of joy.
it was a girl.
- once sloan found out you two were having a baby girl, they went on an outfit shopping spree; buying everything that they found cute for her.
- months have past and you were going to name your baby girl, d/n (daughter name), but, you were trying to figure out what she was going to call sloan when she starts talking
- you were looking for gender neutral titles for your lover, before sloan walked into the living room and sat next to you, unaware of what you were doing
- they turned to you the same time you turned to them, a sad look on your face as you open your mouth but sloan beats you to the punch
“…i’m going to be a dad.”
- your due date inching closer, the stress was getting to both of you. both of you were ready to see this baby but, what the fuck do you do?
- sloan backed a backpack full of necessities and left it in the car a month prior, so you were good there. the nursery was all set with everything the baby needed, baby monitor was also installed, stroller was purchased- the list went on
- then, it happened.
- as soon as the words “my water broke” left your lips, sloan suddenly locked in and knew what to do
- it all happened so fast, one minute you were in your apartment then the next you were in the hospital
- while sloan and you were waiting for you to be fully dilated, they helped you do some stretches and get your mind somewhat off of the pain, which helped a ton
- they held your hand the entire time, not letting go at all. they held your hand when you were getting your medication for the pain relief, and when you were pushing- they were at your side the whole time
- when you were pushing, you were expecting them to pass out, but they didn’t (you weren’t super surprised since they’ve been through this before)
- constant words of encouragement from them! they’d also give you small pecks on the lips during your breaks before kissing the top of your head
- then, many hours of pushing, the baby had arrived
- sloan started bawling the second they saw her, obviously letting you hold her first as the two of you cried happily together
- when you passed d/n off to sloan, you were a little nervous, but they did fantastic holding your baby
- while you were getting some sleep after the birth, they were just holding her. their mind was blown that they were a father, a parent!
- when they were getting sleepy too, they joined you on the small ass hospital bed, but they let you be practically on top of them, so it was a win in their book LMAO
- i think that’s all the pregnancy head canons😓 so let’s dive into the general parenting headcanons!
- they’re 100% playing in the dirt with your daughter, looking for rocks, worms, and other critters and surprises
- d/n definitely got sloan’s love for rocks and nature, she’s constantly begging her father if they can go outside
- you two hardly get mad at her, since she’s such an easy kid
- sloan deffo limited the amount of trips for work, only going on week long trips instead of month+ trips, but as she got older and more mature, they started going back to work again
- the wayfinder’s absolutely ADORE HER! she calls everyone aunty/uncle there and they treat her like she’s family(she basically is)
- if you and sloan want to go on a date night, sloan would drop her off and they’d happily take her in:)
- as she got older, sloan and her got more into archeology; them telling her all about their adventures and even about overwatch too!
- oh, and (mostly) everyone at overwatch loves her too
- rein, ana, and sigma have honorably taken grandparent titles
- they would so want to give her a quinceañera when she’s 15 (since mexican from sloan), but they won’t force her to have one if she doesn’t want one
- they’ll speak spanish to/around her, that way she can get familiar with the language and she can communicate with family members who only speak spanish
- and you do the same too! if you speak another language, that is
- they’re the overprotective parent when it comes to dating/boys
- if she wanted to have a sleepover with 10 friends, they’d so let her! sure, you’d probably get a little upset, but sloan would help feed them and clean up after them:)
- but, overall, they just really love their little girl. they’re so happy to have a family, especially with you!

ok so i’m in a super deep angst hole and i wondered what would happen if baby jr or baby were to be kidnapped, like how would roman react or the whole family and like how would the reunion would be like
Okay, Baby Jr being kidnapped is kinda funny to me
Tumblr media
been a hot minute since I wrote something a lil long for Roman and Baby, and of course it has to be angst to get me in the mood <3
I know it'd actually be so traumatic and sad when it comes to Roman and Baby's little girl because you know she'd be so scared. All she knows is her Mommy and Daddy and the world they made for themselves. Even if nothing's done to her.
But I remember seeing this siblingroyoc headcanon tiktok where they were kidnapped as a child but Logan didn't do anything about it so the kidnappers felt bad and sent them back. Like, the Succession fandom is filled with geniuses. Anyways, I feel like this is what would happen to Baby Jr in the sense that she's kidnapped by people who don't want to hurt her.
Maybe they realize that along the way, Baby Jr was the wrong choice? She's the baby of the guy who got the fuck out of Waystar and is now doing...nothing but being wealthy? Who knows, I just know that what makes it funny is that Baby Jr would eventually calm down and try to be nice to her kidnappers. She asks if they can play Encanto while Roman and Baby are just panicking.
Just imagine that, Roman about to kill himself while Baby Jr's out there having a good time with her kidnappingbabysitters.
It would happen when Baby Jr's at school. Out of the week, after a hesitant Roman allowed it, Baby Jr gets to go to kindergarten for three days. There's the weekend and then one special day saved for the family. But with all the events of wealthy life going on? Roman takes her out of school so much.
So much so that the school staff thinks the person signing her out of class is just one of the Roy family assistants. You'd think private schooling would have a lot more security.
Baby Jr's happy to get taken out of school by Mommy and Daddy, but she slows with her little legs when she sees it's this...person. She's never seen them before. She puts her thumb near her mouth.
"Daddy told me to come pick you up."
Now, she's learned about stranger danger. Just not in the sense the stranger could get into her school and pretend it's one of the many people whose existence benefit minor activities of the Roy family. She's a bit nervous, but okay. If Daddy said so.
"...Okay."
Okay. So they go. It takes the little girl to see another person waiting for them in the car. They talk, they look intense on the face. All scrunched lines.
Baby Jr wants her Mommy. She'll see her soon, but she wants her now.
"Don't be scared, sweetie. You'll just be with us for a little while."
"She still thinks were taking her to them."
"...What she thinks isn't going to change anything."
What gets Roman, in the all of all it, is how long it takes him to find out his daughter is missing.
He's picking her up, picking at his coat jacket. Baby's at home, making brownie bars. He thumps his hands on the office desk.
"Mr. Roy."
"Hi, Ms. school office lady. Here to pick up my kid."
Roman wants to flick her nose. Why the fuck is she staring at him like that? He'll feel bad that he does when him and Baby Jr past the office and waves her little, chubby hand like she always does.
"I know. School's done in ten minutes, but my wife has brownies that are best when they're fresh, which - can somehow be insanely sexual? But yeah...sorry to be a dickfuck and pick her up but I sorta need her now."
"...But you checked your daughter out at eleven."
Roman doesn't blink.
"No. I didn't."
"Not you. I'm sorry, not you - but your assistant. One of them came in and signed her out."
Roman scratches his neck with his middle finger. It digs in at the end, a sharp pain against the way blood rushes through his ears. He blinks fast.
"Yeah...no, I didn't send any fucking...assistant you're saying? No, no one would've came to pick up my daughter but me today."
"Did your wife send anyone to pick he-"
"She's the one at home, baking. Like I told you a minute ago, I would tell her that I'm leaving to pick up our daughter. Which...I'm here to do so did you make a mistake? Someone pick up their own fucking kid and not mines and it's just her name in the system or whatever?"
The office lady watches Roman's finger shake, tapping quickly on the counter, like he's pressing a key over and over and over again. She swallows.
"Sh-she left. She was sent to the office and she went with him."
The tapping stops.
"...Isn't there a list?"
"A list?"
"A list of people who parents put down as people that can pick their child up. Only those people, which...you're Ms. school Office lady so I'm hoping you fucking know about the list. Ours has...has - we have Connor Roy, Frank Vernon, Shiv Roy. Her son is in the building right now. Unless you're telling me you let him walk the fuck out with a stranger? Right? Is that what you're telling me?"
"...I'm...I'm new. It's only my third day."
Roman stares. The office lady watches his chest begin to rise and deepen.
He closes his eyes.
"Did you say eleven?"
"Yes, Mr. Roy. I am so-it's most likely-"
"It's two. It's going to be two."
"Mr. Roy....Mr. Roy-"
The room and it's walls watches the way Roman pressing the heels of his palm into his eyes, stepping back and out into the hall.
"Oh, fuck."
The walls hear this high, cracking pain in his voice. Something panicked with angry coating his throat. Roman bends at his knees to the floor.
"God. Fuck, fuck - fuck! Oh, God. God. You-"
He gets up suddenly, every line twisted in his face with his hair messy. He jabs a finger to the office lady.
"Call fucking 911! You fucking bitch-you're-you're nothing! Call fucking 911!"
It's the sounds of shuffles and buttons, then ringing. Then cursing.
The brownies are done just in time when there's ringing on Baby's end.
"Roman?"
"You need to come down here. You need to-I um...I'm sorry. I don't fucking know. I don't fucking know but you need to come down here and...fuck."
It's a cracking, soft cry. Baby can imagine Roman rubbing his eyes, or the bridge of his nose.
"What happened? Is she okay? Are you okay?"
Roman and her don't know that he feels like a child caught in the act of something bad. He needs to tell her something. He has to tell her something's wrong, and being the barer feels like a crime. It feels like he's going to kill her, and Roman doesn't think he's ever wanted to hurt her in his life.
"Someone fucking took her. They don't know who. The uh, the brainless bitch who gets fed off the tuition money said that it was someone who said they were one of our assistants."
Baby Jr turns to the cat paw oven mitts she got for Baby Jr. She looks to the tile floor.
"No. No."
She says it like saying no will change things. It's simple.
"Can you come down here, please? Please? I'm sorry, I should've picked her up earlier or...or shot the office staff in the head."
"When did h-he he...when did...was it a he?"
"Apparently. But I need that to not...not matter. Please, come down here."
It's all a plea where Baby doesn't know if Roman's on the verge of crying or he's just finished crying.
"I need that to not matter to you. But when? Are you asking when?"
Baby takes a breath that shakes with her body. She holds her palm against her stomach. If she presses in, she can feel her c-section scar.
Tears come as quickly as the panic.
"Roman."
"It's been two hours since they took her."
Baby's head tilts up, face twisting and quivering and her spine curves. She cries harshly.
Roman closes his eyes at the sound. He lowers his head.
"Can you come down? Please, I've sent someone to get you but fuck that if you just wanna come down here by yourself. But please, come down. Please."
It's an long, almost-gentle begging from Roman. He needs her body, he needs her for any sort of reality. He needs to cling onto her and he can't listen to her cry without wanting to touch her, bring her down. But he fucking can't right now because she's there and he's here and their daughter is gone.
Not gone. He'll do a lot of things if she's gone.
It's a big news story even before Baby manages to make it down to the school. It's a Waystar kid kidnapped midday. It's press, parents, people all over. It's a sea she has to cross. She can't cross it without notice, not when she's the mother.
But the flashes and callings fog out at the right of Roman. He's pale and brightly red all at once.
Baby Jr would giggle.
Her feet pick up. His don't even when he sees her. He knows he'll fall into the ground and he won't be able to get back up. But his face against her chest and his arms wrap like suffocation around his crying wife. Hers do too around his.
"Shiv's called about five times. And Karolina, for some reason, as if our daughter's on the company deed. I'm not even on anything anymo-"
"Did they find anything yet?"
Roman can't avoid that question because he's been asking it every thirty seconds. He gets more into a pale rage when the answer doesn't change.
"No. No, because they can't fucking do anything right. They can't find her. They can't-"
"Roman."
Baby pulls his hand away from his shoulder across. He was digging. She thinks he's colored a bit of his shirt red. She sees his coat on the steps of the school.
"Can we do something? Like fucking-they keep telling me I can't do anything and I get the feeling like I could rip their jaw apart but she wouldn't want me to do that."
Baby looks at the small of Roman's body, but the bigness of his rage and panic. It the fidgeting and shifting. For her, it's tears and questions where she can't afford kindness. As a mother, she can't afford cordialness to anyone at the moment.
"Mr. Roy, we got the security footage of them leaving the building. And...are you Mrs. Roy?"
Baby nods. The officer pulls out a phone, makes them watch the footage of a man dressed casually hold their daughter's hand.
Baby breathes so unevenly watching it, she wouldn't give anything to that man in the grained video if she could afford it. Roman keeps his mouth covered by his knuckles.
"Do you recognize this man at all?"
"No. I don't. Roman?" They both wait for Roman. His vein pops out and pumps. Pulses. His brow is raised under it. It's all harsh, it's nerves and it makes Baby even more nervous. She didn't know that was possible. "Roman?"
"Sir-"
He presses play on the video again. It's a short feature, ten seconds of bare information but Roman winds it out to forty seconds.
He presses pause.
"Roman."
It's a soft scolding as Baby licks and bites her lips, as Roman slaps the phone to the ground. He walks away, hands grabbing at the back of his head to pull at his hair.
"Roman, not this. We don't have to talk about everything, about how this happened, but we need to listen to them - we need to think about what's happened? Maybe? To figure out any information?"
She waits half as long in his silence.
"Rom-"
"Do you think she's asking for us right now?"
Baby closes her eyes. "Don't think of these things, baby. It's not going to help-"
She thought of every question she could on the ride here. Roman turns to her but looks to the ground.
"She's asking for us and wondering why we're not there? Our daughter's out there with people who will be dead come time and she's wondering why Daddy hasn't come to get her? Because I don't mean to think that highly of myself as a father but she wants her Dad to come save her and she doesn't know why he can't."
"She knows we're looking for her, Roman."
"She's five. She knows Mommy and Daddy, she doesn't know that things can come in between Mommy and Daddy. She's wondering where we are, isn't she?"
"Roman-"
"Why aren't we there?"
The way he asks the question, it sounds like years ago.
Baby cries silently, into Roman's shoulder when she tries to comfort him. It's this way until a phone rings.
"Mr. Roy. Mrs. Roy. The kidnappers have called, we have them on the phone. They've managed to get the chief's office personal number. With the information they've given, it appears to be a standard ransom case. They have said your daughter is unharmed-"
Roman's dragging Baby, both in the aftermath of their tears to the Chief officer.
"Give me the phone."
"Mr. Roy-"
"Give me the phone."
"Mr.Roy-"
And like a child, Roman snatches the phone out of their hand. It would be humorous if not for the situation. Baby Jr would've giggled.
"...Hello?"
How quickly Roman's hands find the need to pinch and peel at the sound of their voice would be funny too. His nose flares.
"I'm going to take the skin off your feet. Where is my daughter?"
"...She's fine. I said she's unharmed. This is not a political act, this is not a personal one against Waystar or the Roy family, although you can say we picked you due to your politics and what Waystar has done, but this is where we ask for ten million dollars in exchange for your daughter's safety."
Roman sniffs.
"Okay. I'll paypal it to you. Let me speak to her, though."
Baby's more than willing to give up anything for their daughter. She never expected anything less than Roman giving up ten million like it's nothing. Everything is nothing in the face of their baby.
"...Reall-"
"Put her on the fucking phone."
"...Alright."
There's shuffling. Roman and Baby wait as they barely blink.
"Daddy?"
Roman exhales something heavy. It's almost a laugh, but Baby cries fully again. Her forehead presses into the side of his head. Their breathing is unevenly, but somehow aligned with the other's lungs.
"Are you okay? This is Daddy. Daddy's sorry, honey. Did they hurt you?"
"No. We're watching Coco. I was super fear. It was crazy! Cause I didn't know anyone here, but they like Coco like I like coco. And they have Candyland! So it's okay. It is almost done. Where is Mommy?"
"I'm here, baby."
"Hi, Mommy."
It's so sweet and soft. Baby Jr hums.
"Daddy's sorry. We're-" Roman chokes on his own spit. "We'll be with you soon."
"Why are you sorry, Daddy? I go now, so you can say later."
Roman's stomach eats itself at the idea of her going. There's ten to eighty thoughts of how these people could be lying, how this could be the last time he hears her. It could be false, fake. He twitches. They could be doing everything his nightmares are made of. The things that are why he keeps her and Baby to himself.
This could be something that kills him. It drinks his blood and cuts off the air to his head and muscles.
But trusting these fuckers is believing she'll be in his arms soon, to never leave the penthouse or Mommy and Daddy. So, Roman lets her off the phone.
"We will text you the instructions on how we want the money delivered to us."
"Yeah, fuck you. Fucking bitch. You're so fucking ugly too. An ugly little nothing. You go ahead and do that."
Roman shoves the phone into the officers chest.
"Just, do whatever you want with my bank account."
It's a bit of time in trying to get ten million suddenly ready to deliver, but it's done. They wait. Roman can stop twitching and Baby can't stop wringing her hands. They both think of Baby Jr's room. They don't know the other thinks of the same thing.
"They've dropped her off at Waymond park."
They're at Waymond park way too quickly for the ride there to have been legally possible.
"Go fucking faster! Jesus fuck."
Baby wishes she could say that's not what she wanted to say to the driver.
Car doors slam when they see the little girl in the coat they made her wear to school on the swings. Always a bit too warm, that's how Roman likes it.
Baby Jr kicks her little legs. She lifts her head when she hears her named yelled out. She smiles brightly. Those little legs don't run sharply, and they can't catch her when Roman and Baby engulf her.
But they can catch her. They'll always be there to catch her.
Baby Jr giggles at how funny her parents are. They're hugging her like it's a competition to see who can hug the tightest and longest. So, she tries to join in. But she won't win.
Roman kisses her head as tears wet her hair, Baby's tears wet his. He kisses her. They kiss each other.
"I'm going to ask Kendall if we can borrow Colin."
Baby's not against that, not when she's a mother and her daughter's back in her arms.

At this point, either confirm it or stfu. This constant merry go around is annoying.
Daniel has not yet reached Yuki in points, but he has been picking up his performances and becoming more consistent.
People who want him gone fail to understand that everyone besides Marko is calling it a sister team, NOT a junior team. Marko himself has called it a sister team before. The whole rebrand was to make sure the team was able to stand on its own and get results, and now suddenly, the same shareholders want it to be a junior team?
To me, it sounds like a not so subtle way to remind the shareholders that Christian brought Daniel back as a potential replacement for Sergio and now that it didn't happen, Marko should have his say again but at this point it just looks silly, they've already told us why they re-signed him.
In addition to that, we've had countless confirmation that Daniel has been driving the technical side. He is the one giving feedback. Yes, the last upgrade didn't work as well in terms of results, but it was a whole new car, and we were able to overtake AND not completely botch the start. Both of which were difficult to do previously. And Yuki felt comfortable enough during quali that he said "that was a good lap" only to be told that he didn't make it. I genuinely feel like they will figure it out soon regarding the new upgrade. People don't want Daniel, but they still want the car he helped improve.
As for Joe, let's not forget that according to him, Daniel was supposed to be replaced in Miami, Alonso was supposed to have signed with Red Bull and a big announcement was supposed to be released last week. All this on top of his whole Logan/Kimi thing. He gets things right, but they are few and far between.
Whether he heard about the tyre test that Liam is doing in July and decided to put two and two together after Markos article and get 5 instead of 4, is beyond me .
Liam's result last year came after dnf's, but at the same time, he was able to keep it clean and drive a faultless race. His results look so great because, in reality, there was nothing to compare it to, Yuki suffered from some dismal luck.
Daniel isn't taking up Liam's seat. That seat was always Daniel's. Liam didn't "replace" him last year, Liam stood in for him. We must remember that on three occasions, they had the opportunity to put Liam in that seat, instead they chose Nyck, Daniel and then Daniel again.
Liam deserves a seat. As do Jack, Theo, Ollie... but expecting that seat to be made free by Daniel is unfair. There are multiple drivers there with fewer points than him and yes, one can argue that Daniel is almost half down in points than his team mate but then anyone who actually pays attention to Daniel's weekends can tell you how much of those results were not Daniel's fault.
On a weekend, when things align, even with a penalty for something that wasn't his fault and even with narrowly dodging the flying Williams and Ferrari, he will get points. In his short time there, he has already earned their highest quali and results twice.
It is also not surprising that Marko ran to the media a day after the news about Liam and Audi made its way around. Yuki's announcement was half assed too, less than an hour before quali just after news got out that other teams were interested.
On many occasions, we've been told that the management would look at driver options in the summer break.
It is also wise to note that Daniel is currently in a visa ad that will probably run for a while, I don't think it would be wise to replace the driver who brought in visa and is currently in the ad campaign by end of July.
Also, "sacking" Daniel for performance while, at the same time, rewarding someone who prior to the Spanish gp earned the same points as him in a superior car is laughable.
At the end of the day, Daniel and the team aren't only saying they're working together. We can see it. I'm annoyed that this is the weekend he is going to get all these annoying questions, but he has handled it well before.
Whatever happens, he won't go down easily.
Not without a fight.

Hey what the fuck is this news story?
“ But the world’s largest economies are already there: The total fertility rate among the OECD’s 38 member countries dropped to just 1.5 children per woman in 2022 from 3.3 children in 1960. That’s well below the “replacement level” of 2.1 children per woman needed to keep populations constant.
That means the supply of workers in many countries is quickly diminishing.
In the 1960s, there were six people of working age for every retired person, according to the World Economic Forum. Today, the ratio is closer to three-to-one. By 2035, it’s expected to be two-to-one.
Top executives at publicly traded US companies mentioned labor shortages nearly 7,000 times in earnings calls over the last decade, according to an analysis by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis last week.
“A reduction in the share of workers can lead to labor shortages, which may raise the bargaining power of employees and lift wages — all of which is ultimately inflationary,” Simona Paravani-Mellinghoff, managing director at BlackRock, wrote in an analysis last year. “
Is this seriously how normal people think? Improving the bargaining power of workers and increased wages are bad?
“ And while net immigration has helped offset demographic problems facing rich countries in the past, the shrinking population is now a global phenomenon. “This is critical because it implies advanced economies may start to struggle to ‘import’ labour from such places either via migration or sourcing goods,” wrote Paravani-Mellinghoff.
By 2100, only six countries are expected to be having enough children to keep their populations stable: Africa’s Chad, Niger and Somalia, the Pacific islands of Samoa and Tonga, and Tajikistan, according to research published by the Lancet, a medical journal.
BlackRock’s expert advises her clients to invest in inflation-linked bonds, as well as inflation-hedging commodities like energy, industrial metals and agriculture and livestock.
Import labor via migration or sourcing goods? My brother in Christ they are modern day slaves!! I feel like I’m in backwards town reading this what the fuck?!
“ Elon Musk, father of 12 children, has remarked that falling birthrates will lead to “a civilization that ends not with a bang but a whimper, in adult diapers.”
While his words are incendiary, they’re not entirely wrong
P&G and Kimberly-Clark, which together make up more than half of the US diaper market, have seen baby diaper sales decline over the past few years. But adult diapers sales, they say, are a bright spot in their portfolios. “
Oh now the guy with a breeding kink is going to lecture us. Great. /s
“ The AI solution: Some business leaders and technologists see the boom in productivity through artificial intelligence as a potential solution.
“Here are the facts. We are not having enough children, and we have not been having enough children for long enough that there is a demographic crisis, former Google CEO and executive chairman Eric Schmidt said at the Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council Summit in London last year.
“In aggregate, all the demographics say there’s going to be shortage of humans for jobs. Literally too many jobs and not enough people for at least the next 30 years,” Schmidt said.
Oh god not the AI tech bros coming into this shit too. Wasn’t the purpose of improving tech to give people more free time? So they can relax and spend time with family more and actually enjoy life? Isn’t our economy already bloated with useless pencil-pushing number-crunching desk jobs that ultimately don’t serve a purpose?
I’m not going to post the entire article but give it a read. It’s… certainly something. Anyway degrowth is the way of the future.

Chrissy sits at the usual patio table, a sweet tea waiting for him at the seat across from her. On spotting him, her face morphs into an impish grin. “I hear you’re a basketball player, now.”
Eddie sighs hard, slumping back in his chair. “I’ve never been more miserable in my life.”
Chrissy’s laugh is the light tinkling of crystal. “You can tell them no!”
“Seriously, never again,” he chuckles.
“Are you any good?”
“A disaster. If I ever do anything cool, it’s entirely by accident.”
She tries to hide how hard she’s laughing behind her glass, but she’s making little snorts that have her shoulders shaking, and soon Eddie is losing it too. They giggle together until the waitress comes by to take their order. It’s the girl Jason messed around with, and Eddie can’t quite look at her.
Once the waitress leaves, Chrissy fixes him with a level stare that has a swirl of nerves snagging at his gut. “So,” she says.
“So?”
“Steve Harrington.”
“I’m familiar with his work.” The thought of how familiar makes his ears burn.
“Uh huh,” She deadpans.
“Nothing is going on with us.”
“Sure. Cause not even three weeks ago you were very publicly all over each other.”
“It was just flirting.” He’s trying his hardest not to blush horribly, because they did flirt constantly in front of everyone before abruptly stopping.
“It’s not just the flirting, Eddie. You have to know how he looks at you.”
“He looks at me?” He hates that he asks, that his voice goes high.
“You know those crane machines? Where you try to win a toy? He looks at you like you’re the prize.”
Surprise! Chapter 12 of Forever is the Sweetest Con is up now on ao3!

(I'm pretty sure I accidentally sent an unfinished version of this ask if I did my bad)
Skele is at S/O's hometown to visit family for the weekend. Skele hears S/O call them from another room. They see S/O on the floor with horrible head pain, they look deathly pale, and can’t move properly.
At the hospital they are told that have no available rooms so S/O is forced to walk a bit with nurse's help and put into a wheelchair in the waiting room. S/O who is in clearly in a lot of pain is desperately trying to lie on the floor because it "makes their head hurt less". S/O is also a little humiliated because they were in middle of getting ready for bed so they are half-dressed in front of everybody in the waiting room.
After a couple of hours S/O is finally seen by someone. They have to be transfered to another hospital via helicopter because this one can't help. Skele and S/O's family drive an hour to get there.
Turns out S/O had a brain aneurysm. They have tubes in their head to drain the blood and can't move much to prevent brain damage. S/O's mom is telling the doctors about what happened at other hospital and their horrified because everything the nurses did was dangerous and could've hurt S/O more. S/O's sister is angry and says she used to intern at the hospital and says the people there discriminate and treat everyone who comes in like a "drug addict" (their hometown has a lot of them) and isn't careful with patients. Even though drug addicts shouldn't be treated poorly either S/O's family has recovered/recovering addicts so they experience. Family insists last hospital did have a room and just didn't give it to S/O, they're mad.
S/O will have to relearn to walk and will fully recover but it could've been really bad.
How does Skele react when they find S/O? How do they act at the first hospital? How do react at the second hospital when they find out about everything? How is recovery?
(Sorry this is so specific based on real events, love your stuff btw I check in on your blog every day 💞💞💞)
Undertale Sans - Well that was for sure not a good day. Sans bottled all of his feelings to focus on his S/O, and made sure to be there every step of the way. He had a feeling the first hospital didn't think you were serious, but he's not a doctor, he didn't know what else to do. After discovering you almost die and that the first hospital made things worse, he actually feels guilty because he didn't say anything and maybe you wouldn't be that bad now, and ok, maybe he's thinking this too much. He's just relieved you're finally having a treatment and he assures you he's not moving his butt from that chair in your room until you feel better. He tries to help the best he can through the recovery, giving you support and comfort. He's good at that.
Undertale Papyrus - He's a bit shaken at the end of the day because DAMN that was scary. Papyrus tried to argue with the doctors in the first hospital, and was so relieved when the helicopter arrived, before panicking again when he realized it meant he had to let you go because he couldn't go with you. Then when he arrived, the doctors refused to let him see you for long hours, and that for sure didn't help his anxiety. Papyrus looks like he hasn't slept in an entire week even though it's just one day. He's exhausted, and he hates all those tubes in your head. He can't sleep that night, nor the three nights after. Actually, he doesn't sleep at all until his body gives up on him, forcing the doctors to hospitalize him as well so he rests. Thank Asgore, things will get better with time. Papyrus is supportive and tries to help with the recovery. He's always optimistic which definitely helps. He can't wait for all of this to be just a nightmare though.
Underswap Sans - He got incredibly frustrated in the first hospital. He knows drug addicts, he's a police officer, and he could tell the doctors were treating his S/O like one. Blue tried to insist, he really did, but that didn't really work. He was only relieved once after arguing for two hours, you finally able to go to another hospital. He's worried when he sees you with all the tubes, but at least you're saved. He will definitely report the first hospital for abuse and ask for reparations as you struggle in your everyday life to get better. He's there for you though, even switching to a part-time police officer job to take care of you.
Underswap Papyrus - That was a horrible stressful day. Poor Honey completely panicked when they refused you in the first hospital, because what the hell, you can't stand up??? And then he finds you later with tubes literally INSIDE your head and that was way too much for him. He passes out lol. He's going to be anxious all the time you recover. He wishes he could do more for you, but he can't really do more than what the doctor did so... He does his best to stay by your side and help the best he can.
Underfell Sans - He got so angry in the first hospital that the security had to drag him out. He almost assaulted a nurse and two doctors who shook your problem away like it's nothing when he's on the verge of having a mental breakdown because of how scared he is for you. He calms down when you're finally taken care of elsewhere, even though he's really not ok finding you in an even more horrible state than when he brought you there. Red is going to be overprotective while you recover. He's terrified to lose you and the whole process kinda traumatized him a little, even though he says it's not true. He's going to have some bad nightmares the nights that followed.
Underfell Papyrus - He's furious about how you were treated in the first hospital. Edge argued really loudly with the medical team, to the point it was possible to hear him from outside the building. He's actually the one who struggled to get you to another hospital as fast as possible. Once he knows you're out and safe though, he's not holding back and says straight to the medical team that he's going to sue each and every one of them for endangering his S/O's life. That's only that they start to argue to calm him down because Edge is the best lawyer in town and none of them has enough money to pay someone to fight against him, really. Edge then calls your family to explain the situation and joins them to the other hospital, calmer. He's relieved you're going to be ok, even though hard days are coming. That's fine, he's good with taking care of people through hard days. Like Red, he gets very protective during your recovery. He can get a little pushy as well, but he really wants to help you feel better.
Horrortale Sans - All of this story will for sure not help him to like hospitals better. He tried to help you with Toriel's magic to avoid going to the hospital, but since it didn't work, he took you there himself. He probably didn't help the first medical team to help you as he growled at each person with a white coat passing too close to him. He got mad when you had to take the helicopter without him, and you actually had to call Willow because he was ready to fight the doctor if they dared to take you away. He calms down once his brother convinces him it's for your own good, and he lets you go, kinda with a heavy heart. Oak is definitely not ok when he sees you again long hours later, with all these tubes everywhere. He immediately gets protective and just puts his big head on your chest so he can rest while making sure you're still breathing. That's going to be complicated for Oak during your recovery, but you will get there eventually and everything will be better.
Horrortale Papyrus - Well, he went there. He knows what it is to wake up one morning and your body isn't responding anymore. Willow stays calm through the whole process. He didn't agree with how they treated you in the first hospital, but ironically, he got treated the same way in that very same hospital the first time he reached the surface. He immediately asks the doctor to take you to the hospital he's going to usually. He knows the team better and it comforts him to know you'll be in good hands there. He tells you not to worry as you leave in the helicopter, and takes care of all the papers for you, and warn your family. He's a bit in shock when he sees you again, as he didn't expect this to be that serious, but he's glad you're ok. He doesn't worry too much for you recovery, as you kinda have a specialist in that in the house. He's going to help you with all he learned those last years, which actually helps you to recover twice faster than what the doctors planned.
Swapfell Sans - Rus took you to the hospital. Nox was too scared you might die. He just couldn't. He's taking news thanks to his brother, but he's really not feeling well, roaming the house anxiously. He can't take it eventually and comes to join you when he learns that you had been taken to another hospital after the first one treated you horribly. He apologizes for not being there sooner and tries to push away his terror to support you. He still looks a bit miserable, but it will get better as doctors say you're out of danger. He promises to be there for you through your recovery and even argues with the Queen to have free time so he can take care of you. He's not losing you too.
Swapfell Papyrus - Rus tries his best to distract you while you're waiting for long hours in the first hospital. He's nervous, and he can see you're reacting less and less, but he's still talking, the voice shaking, trying to comfort you and, well, himself as well. He's so relieved when you can finally join another hospital. He's not too happy he can't go in the helicopter with you, but it left him some time to befriend your family, while waiting for you in the waiting room of the second hospital. He's happy to see you again. He doesn't really care about all the things planted in your head. He goes back to talking to you, to calm his anxiety. He refuses to leave your side though. Even if the doctors tried to get rid of him several times, he teleported right back into your room ten minutes later lol, so they gave up and let him stay. He tries to be here while you're recovering, even though he's distracting you maybe a little too much during your exercises lol.
Fellswap Gold Sans - Wine is a little stressed. He doesn't like that you're not ok. He doesn't like those doctors who act like you're lying. So he gets angry and yes, a gun gets involved somewhere on the road. He threatens the doctors to get more angry if they keep ignoring you. He gets you a helicopter in less than an hour so you get treated properly. He doesn't care if he gets in trouble as long as you're fine. He calms down once he's sure you're ok and starts to chill a little, to help you through your recovery. He's still mad at the first hospital, and will definitely sue them, but he's glad you're ok.
Fellswap Gold Papyrus - He's completely lost, but he tries to help the best he can. He's really stressed out, but he doesn't really have the knowledge of what he can do to make the situation better. With all the people around, he's really not feeling ok and yeah, he might have a few panic attacks through the day. He's sorry he can't be there 100% for you and he feels horrible for annoying you with his anxiety in such a moment. You have to flick him behind the head a few times to tell him to stop devaluing himself. He keeps a brave face when you abandon him to go to another hospital, and then he breaks down again. Your family supports him on the way to the second hospital. He feels a bit better when he sees you're still alive, and actually out of danger. He does his best to refrain from his need to hug you tight and never let you go, and simply crush your hand into his lol. You're not sure how you're going to do with your recovery. But then you remember you have Mr. Follow-All-the-Rules-Wine home to discipline you lol. Don't worry, you'll be fine.
